Serene outdoor area offering hiking & bird-watching amid rocky streams & stunning vistas.
We choose the Whispering Pines trail connecting to Pickle Springs trail. what a great day, we walked and enjoyed the many view along the trails. our overall time was 3 hours 23 minutes of fun. as a note it was a more advanced difficulty trail for some people, the Pickle Springs trail is very rocky so wear good hinmking shoes with a solid grip. Pickle springs would be a trail to use caution as it would be easy to loose footing or roll an ankle. Take it slow and easy here. Recommened these trail for exploring. The waterfront trail was great.
Rodney Y — Google review
We did the Pickle Creek trail and had a lot of fun. Beautiful trail alongside the creek. Lots of rocks and roots to navigate but it just made it more interesting. There were restrooms with pit toilets in the parking lot, not terrible but not great either. Looked like there were nice picnic areas, but we didn't use them.
Brooke G — Google review
I did the white oaks trail one week and then the full whispering pines trail the following week in early October 2024. They should just close the white oak trail in my opinion, the views aren’t great and the trail isn’t maintained very well/ the path is very small for some reason. The whispering pines trail on the other hand is easily one of the best hikes in Missouri. The Pine trees transport you to the north west without having to compromise on weather. Great overlooks, fun but challenging hills and cliffs, and then at the southern most point is a serene stream and cool area to relax. I can’t wait to be back.
Robert H — Google review
Nice and clean park! Large with many trails. We did the Pickle Creek Trail, which was beautiful and scenic, but also not easy. Definitely be prepared for a more difficult hike, with lots of rocks and downed trees to climb over.
Jess E — Google review
Visited the park for a look at the overlook walkway by the park office and then a hike on White Connector 3. Following that, I took a short drive along Park Drive (doesn't every MO State Park have a Park Drive?) and ran across a sight in a camping area that I've never seen before in any park. Check out the photos for Santa-fied skeleton buddies. On 23 July 2025. People do some amazing things........
Debra A — Google review
This park is absolutely beautiful. Did the whispering pine north trail and it's beautiful. Not too difficult and not too long if you take the white connector in the middle.
Monica F — Google review
Such a beautiful park. Very peaceful. They have several walking trails. Place to camp. A little park area with picnic tables. Could spend the whole day here. The rocks are really pretty and different. Lots of granite.
Stacey B — Google review
Highly recommend it for the area. Trees were still dead from winter. It can be confusing if you are doing south loop of the trail so pay attention to the map. Two of our friends got lost for a while

Always a great hike. I know when trees fall they usually don’t get rid of them, but in this case, there are several trees blocking some very gorgeous views that need to be cut up. Other than that always a great couple of hours in the woods. Definitely go after it has rained to see some small waterfalls. Fairly easy trail for most.
Krystal D — Google review
What a wonderful place to enjoy nature with loved ones! A good 2 mile hike through the woods. Incredible rock formations. Not ADA accessible.
Andrew B — Google review
The Trail Through Time is our favorite in the area! So much to see; caves, bluffs, coves, rock formations, etc. Varied and interesting trail, although somewhat tricky to navigate at times (scrambling over and around rocks/roots). Took us just over an hour to do the full loop with time to stop and take pictures. Not crowded at all on a Wednesday afternoon in July.
Brooke G — Google review
Like a mini-Elephant Rocks, this trail has some fantastic rock formations to explore. The trail is only 2 miles long, but it felt longer due to all the ups and downs. There are numerous tiny side trails to scenic spots, but the path is blazed with red arrows and white squares, which assuaged our fears of getting lost.
Tim W — Google review
Edit: Me and my date both poison ivy in little places all over, so is prolly recommend long sleeves that go directly in the wash after. I visited in summer though, so that wasn't an option 😅. --- I was told there were lots of "small waterfalls".. and there were maybe 3? And they were 2-3 ft drops? 😅 I'd probably call it a nice hike through the woods with a few water trickles of water 😁. And if you think of it that way, it was very nice. Pretty shady most of the time, some cool rocks - rocks were cooler than the water. Barely saw people, but heard them a few times. Definitely requires a bit of careful foot placement. The sign said it takes 1 hours, but we eneded up taking 1.5 - both from being a little slow and sightseeing/getting turned around.
Matt M — Google review
No restrooms, water, or from what i saw no trash cans... plan accordingly. It's a very busy trail (i went on Saunday afternoon on Father's day), well-maintained. Not the best for trail running since it's narrow in some spots, and people kinda can't and/or just don't won't move over.. Highly recommended and I plan on going often.
Wendy P — Google review
Really nice overall. Definitely moderate hiking and lots of sights. Lots of rambling water and little waterfalls. No restrooms though
The S — Google review
Great hike, alot of climbing but, Wow! the rock formations are spectacular.

The River Rapids Waterpark, located about an hour's drive from St. Louis, offers an enjoyable experience for families. Despite its small size, the park packs a punch with a variety of attractions including slides, a lazy river, and a play area for younger children. The deep end is separate and there are designated food and drink areas available. Conveniently, there are spacious changing stalls for visitors to use. Families with young kids will appreciate these amenities.
We had a great time at this water park! Everyone was nice and polite, which made the experience even more enjoyable. There were plenty of lifeguards on duty, ensuring everyone's safety. The food was nice and reasonably priced, and the pools were clean. There were plenty of places to lie around and sunbathe, making it perfect for relaxation. There were enough attractions and activities for everyone to have fun. I highly recommend this water park!

Enjoy going out of town to this Waterpark. Families enjoy getting cool here. Their snack area has a wide choices, and staff friendly and fast
Linda S — Google review
Great little waterpark! Concessions and locker rental were reasonably priced. I rented a small locker for $6. We went on a very busy Saturday so the lines to slides and concessions were long but there’s not much you can do about that. We will be back! Buy your tickets on line and skip the ticket counter!
Tina C — Google review
We brought our 5yo granddaughter and it was an entire day of fun. She had a blast in the kids area. She never ran out of stuff to do which is amazing at that age. We also floated the lazy river a couple of times and enjoyed lunch at the café. The food was good and priced well. Overall it was definitely worth the price and a new fun option for our family to go to.
Kathren S — Google review
Definitely fun for the price point. Concession stand has reasonable prices. Our biggest complaint is that it is not easy to get around. If you have multiple kids and are bouncing around from spot to spot, it’s like a maze for no reason. It would be easy to put more direct walking paths in and I don’t really know why they wouldn’t. It’s a lot of weaving around and that got pretty old for my kids pretty quick. Staff was friendly.
Ashley C — Google review
We really enjoyed the park. However, there were some strange rules. My child is going through a phase where they don't like water in their eyes so I got them goggles. They could where them everywhere but going down the slide. That's where most of the water is getting splashed up into the eyes. Also they couldn't go down the slide on my lap, toddler. The literal shortest slide mind you. I guess every water park is different.
Lexi C — Google review
We went on Saturday the 21st. The first real hot day of this heat wave. It was packed but We still got a locker and enjoyed our time in the main pool. The lines were never ending so be careful when picking what days and times to go. Since the lines for concessions only continued to grow and there wasn't anywhere to sit we didn't stay and eat or anything. So that cut our visit short. But we are looking forward to going back, hopefully we will get lucky and pick a day not so crazy hot or busy.
Amanda C — Google review
If you’ve ever dreamed of spending your day surrounded by screaming children, getting splashed every three seconds, and sitting on the ground because every chair is taken—this is the spot. It’s basically Spring Break for toddlers. That said, the place was super clean, well-maintained, and overall great for families. Just not my cup of tea. If you have kids, they’ll love it. If you don’t… maybe bring headphones and low expectations.

El San Felipe Mexican Grill is a popular spot known for its vibrant atmosphere and authentic Mexican cuisine. The menu features crowd-pleasers like the Steak Quesadilla, Chimichanga, and Molcajete, all offered at reasonable prices. Visitors praise the fresh and traditional dishes as well as the friendly and attentive staff. Whether you're craving a classic burrito or a unique entree, this local favorite promises to satisfy your Mexican food cravings with generous portions and flavorful options.
The food is very great and the staff are very prompt with seating and service. The portions are outstanding and the price is low as compared to the amount of food you're given. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be a frequent returning customer. Steak Quesadilla - Amazing Chimichanga - Amazing Molcajete - Amazing - lots of food for 25 dollars

Worst experience ever. We came here a few times when it first opened and were pleased, but then service kept getting worse and food became very bland. Decided to give them another chance tonight because we were in the mood for margaritas, which were good last time we were here. The cheese on our meal was like water, I paid $4.99 for shrimp to be added and there were 4 small shrimp added to the meal, the taco shells had an after-taste so bad my mother-in-law couldn’t eat them, my moms meal was ice cold and my husband didn’t like his tacos (and he likes all Mexican food). The worst part is our Margaritas were horrible - and not worth even finishing, we bought a pitcher and walked away from a quarter of it and two half glasses - that’s never happened in the history of our family going out for Mexican. The service was horrendous - the waitress did not bring the condiments requested, never once came back and checked on us and ignored us when he tried flagging her down three times. When I asked to speak to a manager, she said one wasn’t available and the owner was the only one there, but she didn’t know where he was. We will not return. The waitress tried to make it up to us by offering us a margarita to go which she said she would personally make better, but there really was little someone could do to make this experience better. I appreciate her effort and tipped her accordingly.
Kelly S — Google review
Excellent! I had the Verdes burrito and it was great. I had a strawberry margarita and that was very good. They also brought me water and it had a lemon flavor. The burrito was the perfect blend of flavor and spicy. The chips and salsa were also very good. The people were super friendly and attentive. More than a few times they asked if everything was good, that's a good thing. I will return when I'm in the area.

Food was good. Service wasn't too good. Wasn't even that busy. Took forever to get our check. Waiter seemed not really into it!

First time going after being recommended here. We got the Mexican tacos and the Chile Verde and both were excellent and the churros for desert were delicious. Lupita took care of us.Will definitely be back again.
Brandon V — Google review
The molcajete was amazing. The chips and salsa were disappointing. They were bagged chips and not made fresh. Friendly but slow to receive the bill. I would recommend to a friend.

Nice little place with good food. I loved the molcajete bowl and I got 3 whole meals out of it. Highly recommend.

I love this establishment. Not only do they have the best margaritas in Missouri they also have great menu options. Make sure you order the skinny Margarita it’s to die for I love it. Chips and salsa are awesome. The choripollo is amazing make sure to give it a try. Monday and Tuesday lime margaritas Specials all day

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Anvil Restaurant & Saloon, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Brix Urban Winery & Market. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

The Anvil Restaurant & Saloon, housed in a 19th century hardware store, is now a beloved family diner serving up a variety of nostalgic dishes for lunch and dinner. Renowned for its crispy onion rings and delectable homemade desserts, this historic establishment offers hearty portions that are perfect for sharing. The restaurant's rich history and generous servings make it a must-visit spot in the charming downtown of Ste.
We came into town on a road trip and had a great late lunch here. I loved the history! I do not normally like onion rings, but these were def the best I’ve ever had! Good chicken Caesar salad too! Yum!
Maria J — Google review
This restaurant has a great atmosphere. The bar dates back to the 1800's. The service was good. As an appetizer we had Onion Rings. Cooked to perfection. Likely the best onion rings I have ever had. After that things went downhill. Two of us had Pork Tenderloin. One grilled one fried. The taste on them was a little off. Another of our party had Macaroni and Cheese as a side. It was cold. The other person had liver and onions. She was not overly thrilled with those. I did chat with some folks before we ordered. They had steak that they were very happy with.
Dan G — Google review
Stopped by for a late lunch. Portion sizes were very large. Tried the ravioli, onion rings, chicken tenders, and grilled cheese all were very good. Has an old bar vibe completely with spittoon!
Dustin J — Google review
Absolutely the best Onion rings and sauce. You have to have it. It's what they are famous for but seriously. Do try it. Ask for a half a portion if you're just in 2 people because their portions are generous. We also had the cheese sticks. 🧀 we got a half of Onion and half cheese. so yummy. I also love the drinks. Everything was great and the bartenders were great.

One of the best restaurants around. The building is one of the oldest west of the Mississippi. The food is amazing and the wait staff is a well. Come hungry, the servings are enough for 2. They are rightfully famous for their home made onion rings, a must try any visit. Serving veterans free breakfast the first Sunday of each month. Look at the size of a single plate, so much hubby and i shared and ordered German potatoes and toast. We even ordered dessert to go. YUMMY! Check out their menus for Ste Genevieve Jour de Fete. This is THE PLACE TO EAT.

I highly recommend The Anvil for great food and service!

Specialty Museums
The Ste Genevieve Museum Learning Center, established in 1935, offers a fascinating journey through the town's history. It showcases artifacts from the salt works at Saline Spring, the town's first industry, as well as weapons, Native American relics, old documents, and memorabilia from the mid-1800s. The museum also boasts an impressive collection of ancient artifacts from around the world and provides hands-on experiences for visitors.
Such a great museum tucked away in a great little town. This two-story collection has incredibly life-like, full size dinosaurs displayed in their natural habitats. Not just bones, but complete animals that look like they could walk right up to you. Many different pre-historic periods are displayed, completing then entire first floor of the building. On the second floor you can find several early American periods showcased, plus some local to Missouri. The staff are very knowledgeable and happy to help and answer questions. There is a lot to see, so plan to spend a couple hours to see everything.
Robert B — Google review
A fun place with lots of interesting things to look at. Fun for little kids to see the neat things and for old kids and adults actually interested in reading the information about the items. I wouldn't plan this place alone for a full day because we got through it pretty quick even being on a school field trip. Gift shop was a little pricey but that was to be expected from my experiences with gift shops. Definitely recommend for any Dino lovers.
Sarah M — Google review
It's a small museum, by comparison, but they really have wonderful exhibits. I absolutely recommend a visit if you are near the area. Ste. Genevieve is lovely and the museum holds a wealth of information about the history of Missouri and interesting artifacts. If you know a dino lover they will be in awe of the first floor space dedicated to the recovery, study, and preservation of the hadrosaur remains found near Marble Hill, Missouri.
Dustin B — Google review
Unusual museum. If you are into the Jurrasic Park movies and dinosaurs you would like the first floor. They have a movie prop from the Jurrasic Park III movie. I liked the upper floors better with the Old West displays about Gold Mining and the tools and weapons used in the 1800's. Surprised the James Gang robbed the bank there. Cheap way to spend 3 hours.
Rod M — Google review
Great place. My kids are obsessed with dinosaurs and they loved it. Mike was awesome and let them hold some real dino bones he was working on. Definitely recommend.

Very educational. We spoke with the paleontologist and he explained about the MO dino. Worth the trip.

Great museum and well worth visiting! Far better than we had anticipated. Varied exhibits. Lots of fossils and dinosaur displays, but also plenty of local history about this beautiful historic town. There is a friendly paleontologist on staff and available to answer questions. We will definitely visit again with family members who couldn't make it this time.

What a great museum! There is a live dinosaur dig happening and the scientist was there to talk with! There are a ton of unique artifacts which truly make this place stand out. We loved the meteors, the Hindenburg exhibit, the dinosaurs, the minerals and gold, the puzzle--all of it was great!

Buffet restaurant
The Old Brick House, an American eatery situated in the oldest brick structure of the region dating back to 1785, is a charming establishment with amiable staff and delectable cuisine. During a weekday visit, the lunch buffet showcased an array of fresh options despite the place being nearly empty. The salad bar boasted freshness and a wide selection of toppings, complemented by delicious French and ranch dressings.
We made our way once again to The Old Brick house for their fish , chicken & shrimp buffet. Also had the Great, noodles with sweet stewed tomatoes. This was our 15th visit here & they have always had a very good buffet. Our server was a very nice & polite young lady. She came buy & checked on us quite often. The interior & atmosphere of this old establishment is one of a kind. We plan on coming back many more times....

This restaurant is located in what is said to be the oldest building west of the Mississippi, built in 1780. It appears to be a family run operation, and we enjoyed their buffet. From salad fixings to roast beef and fried chicken,, the food was delicious and the service was great! The atmosphere is historic and lovely.

The most adorable place for lunch! The fish was PERFECT! The house salad dressing is a must.

We had a great time at the old brick house! Great little nuggets of history. Very tasty fried chicken. You can’t go wrong with America’s staple of mashed potatoes and gravy. General a server and she did a great job remembering who had what and keeping cups full. The turkey club was quite delicious. And their battered onion rings and fried mushrooms were off the charts. It has both old world, charm, and small town café feel.

Finally, a place that serves German Fries. I got the last order of German Fries for the night. Has a full service bar. On my last visit, I noticed it was the first brick building built west of the Mississippi.

First time here. I went with my 3 teenagers, husband, and dad. We all enjoyed our lunches that we got. Service was great, our waitress was on top of things, friendly, and even got us extra plates (without us asking her) after our lunch for the birthday cake I was allowed to bring in for my dad. It's a cute little place and we had a nice lunch there.

The Centre for French Colonial Life & the Bolduc House Museum in Sainte Genevieve, Missouri, offers a glimpse into the history of New France and the land under French and Spanish control before the Louisiana Purchase. The museum showcases an 18th-century French kitchen garden and a vertical log house from 1792. The Louis Bolduc House is a well-preserved example of poteaux sur solle construction and has earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places.
The building is rare and valuable. The guide is awesome and telling us a lot of details, especially for the life back to 1800s. Two houses contained in the tour, one is early and anther is built by the daughter.

Very well preserved, vertical wood structure, French colonial home. The original portion of the home getting close to 250 years old. Hard to find buildings that old in Missouri. Go over to the Centre for French Colonial Life to see some of the artifacts from the period. Tour of this house and the somewhat newer one next door are $10 a person. My wife and I essentially got a private tour and our tour guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and had a knack for keeping the tour interesting. Took about 30 minutes.

The Felix Valle House State Historic Site, located in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, is a well-preserved historic complex managed by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The site includes the 1818 Felix Valle House and other early 19th-century buildings like the Amoureux House and Dr. Shaw House. Visitors can take guided tours to explore these historic properties and gain insights into Missouri's rich history. Additionally, a ticket purchased at the St.
Tour and grounds are much better than the National Park next door. Very informative and interactive! Some very steep steps on the tour.

We stopped at historic Ste. Gen on our way home from St. Mary's. Unfortunately, we were too early to see inside the Felix Valley house. But if the outside property is any indication, then the inside should be delightful. And well-kept. This is a great little town, with many historic sites. It has many small businesses, as some tourist towns do. It was a great stroll around town. We will be back in the Fall. It's a great day trip,!

This is my third visit to Ste Genevieve to see the sights and soak up the history, but only my first visit to the Felix Valle House. They weren't actually conducting any tours on the day I was there, but the Park employee, Rachel, very kindly gave me an impromptu tour and allowed me into all the rooms while providing a narrative of the Valles and the house contents. Good job Rachel! This is a spot worth visiting.

Great tour guide. He was so knowledgeable! The history of the house is fascinating. I can't believe they were going to tear it down to build a gas sdtation

Cool set of historic homes in the middle of historic downtown Ste Genevieve. The Shaw House across the street is included in the experience and has a gift shop. Guided tours throughout the day that will dig deep in to the history. Tour cost $5, but you can buy a "passport" at the local tourism office for $15 that will get you in to 6 sites total. They are all open at varying times, so plan ahead accordingly.

This was an amazing place, guided walking tour, museum and gift shop. Even my kids enjoyed going there. The town itself is beautiful and there is lots to see and do. Perfect for younger and older homeschooling families!

The Felix Valle House is an old historic home in St. Genevieve, Missouri. We took about a 1 hour tour. Our tour guide was a very young interesting and informative high school teacher who was very happy and enjoyed her job. A ticket may be bought at the St. Genevieve Chamber of Commerce that included tours to the Guibourd, Bequette Ribualt, Green Tree, and Amoureux houses, plus a town museum for a very economical price. If you can't stay for too long of a period of time you may return for as many days that you need to see the rest of the homes and have your card punched.

Wow! What an awesome family owned business. We came and hungout here for their Halloween event. The staff had live music, food, and great wines/ciders. This venue is locally owned and family ran. They are extremely hard working and do everything they can to make it a good experience for their guests. I highly recommend checking them out next time you're in Ste. Gen.

Very cool space with mead and wine options produced by the owners. Both the meads and wines that we tried were great! Indoor and outdoor seating options available. Food also available, light snacks.
Jess E — Google review
Our favorite place since we found it. We went to sample mead a few years ago. We found amazing people who bring joy to everyone they meet! Such a wonderful and hip environment in such an old, beautiful, and interesting place. Very forward thinking, community, and environmentally conscious, and inspiring women. The mead is delicious. They have dry to sweet meads from local honey and ingredients. They have an adorable little store with unique and some handmade items. They have yard games for outside and board games if you want to stay inside. There is outdoor seating, and friendly pets are welcome to come along with their customers at their outdoor seating. You need this experiemce! We frequent Brix for refills and bottles of our favorites! Edit: Our new favorite is the new seasonal Ginger Mead called Ginger Wonderland for the holidays. WOW! It tastes like Christmas. Smooth, with cinnamon and meadowfoam flower honey...🤯. I bought a case, because I know I am going to want this longer than the holidays! I want it all year!

This is such a fun winery and has the best mead we’ve ever tasted! The mead is well balanced, not too sugary sweet. We loved the All Burn! It’s a nice place to enjoy the day and we’ll definitely be back!

Interesting place with a wide variety of options. I tried and liked several of their wines and had a slushy during my visit. I don’t remember who helped with our tasting but he was friendly and explained a lot about their wines. Would definitely recommend!
Kim J — Google review
The two ladies working the counter here were so delightful and the meads were delicious. Bought a bottle of Cherry on Top (cherry mead) and Traditions (cranberry fruit wine) to take home. I loved how they had all the rooms set up for people. We sat on a loveseat one one of the rooms. Will be returning next time we’re in st. Gen!

I have only been to a handful of locations which sell mead. Hands down, this was by far the best tasting I had experienced. I ended up getting a growler and a bottle on my way out. I am definitely going back and taking my girlfriend. The inside is very quaint, but it also has an outside venue as well. Unfortunately the day I went, it was miserable outside (rain). Remember mead is strong, so it's not about quantity, but quality. They only sell 32 oz. growlers, but that is more than the 750 ml bottle. The staff there were very nice and actually brought my buddy and I a couple of samples, so we could taste all the variety available. It was worth it because we both walked out of there with a growler and a bottle. I recommend going and experiencing the various flavors Brix has to offer. I believe it is only open on weekends, so make it a destination day!!

Visitor Centers
The Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center is the perfect starting point for exploring the historic town. The center offers a walking tour video and area brochures, providing valuable information for visitors. Additionally, it houses the Roscoe Misselhorn Gallery, showcasing original sketches of Ste. Genevieve. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are locals who can offer insights into the city's historic sites, dining options, and other attractions.
One of the newer things to see in Ste Genevieve is the many murals. Local artist Kenzie Wolk has painted some of them and Craig Thomas painted one of the most recent additions. These works of art make for a more interesting visit to the downtown area of Ste Genevieve. If a few more are added over time. It could be interesting to add finding all of the murals as part of a walking tour of the downtown area of Ste Genevieve.

Nice little welcome center in the historic district of Ste Gen. The staff were very nice and informative. Kind of a small museum mixed with a tourism board. You can purchase a historic site passport here that will get you in to 6 of the the local sites. Includes 5 houses and the city museum. Cost is $15 a person, but if you don't purchase it, you pay individually at each place. If you are a walker, all sites are walkable.

Sara's Ice Cream & Antiques is a delightful gem that beckons visitors with its mouthwatering ice cream and charming ambiance. Cool little ice cream joint. My malt was solid and the service was good. The inside is nostalgic, but a bit cluttered in a bad way. Only real complaint is we tried to go here about 5 times over a 3 night stay and they were never open. I understand small town places having flexible hours due to slow traffic, but they were open on a Wednesday afternoon and we didn't find them open until a Saturday morning. Just odd.

Great stop for quality ice cream and now more (matcha)! Our kids prefer to drive to this location for its downtown community service and commitment to detail. The Jacques Guibourd Historic House, also known as La Maison de Guibourd, is located in Sainte Genevieve, Missouri. This historic house showcases the poteaux-sur-solle construction style with bouzillage sealing. Built around 1806 for Jacques Jean Rene Guibourd and his family, it reflects the Creole-French architectural influence of the region. While the house has undergone renovations, original elements such as floors, doors, and windows have been preserved.
A great tour. Although the house has been renovated, the floors, as well as some doors and windows are original. Plus the tour takes you to the attic so you can see the Norman Truss construction.

We came to St Genevieve to enjoy the historic charm of a small town. When we came to the historic site tour, we had very little idea about the nature and style of the $6/ person tour which, overall was incredibly informative, and quite enjoyable. We found it strange that the tour guide never gave her name, but then asked each of us personal information about our occupations, and what we wanted to be when we grew up (presumably to get to know us)... However, The tour guide kind of put each of us down/kind of insulted us when we told her our occupations and our dream jobs. Two of the four of us are in the food service industry (essential workers during the pandemic) and the tour guide was incredibly insulting in regards to what we do and what our dreams were.... but I digress. The first part of the tour was mildly chaotic as there had been another couple there and the guide was attempting to address both groups. Eventually she caught her rhythm and began to give an in-depth history lesson from which I was able to learn a lot about Ste. Genevieve's history. We were then shown the other rooms of the house. The place is beautiful. Filled with beautiful antiques. Lots of spiritual energy in the space. The upstairs is available to tour which is a first for me in a historical home. Upstairs is a single room with a small model home, a few flags, and a spindle (which I found to be weird since the guide said the town had basically no weavers since the French traded flour for fabric... ) We did not stay long upstairs which seemed to surprise the tour guide as she was already unmasked and ready to give up on the tour. We did not see the kitchen or slave quarters as it seemed the guide was done, but we did have an overall enjoyable time.

Beauvais-Amoureux House, dating back to 1792, showcases the poteaux en terre style with walls made of hewn logs set upright in an earthen trench. It is one of the few remaining vertical log houses in the area and offers a quaint and community-driven tour experience. The house features a diorama of Sainte Genevieve from 1832 and is well-maintained, with informative tours provided by knowledgeable docents or National Park Rangers.
The history down in Ste Gen is so amazing. Allegedly going back to 1735. Hard to find that kind of history this side of the Mississippi. This house is actually one of the few vertical log style houses left in the US. I believe there are only 5 and 3 are in the Ste Gen area. The tour is very quaint and community driven, which is awesome to see the local community take such pride in their history. The house itself is very nicely kept and has multiple displays. The best one being a scale model of Ste Gen during the post colonial era. The tour does cost a few bucks, but if you go to the local tourism office in downtown Ste Gen you can get a passport for $15 a person and see six different sites around town. It's good for the calendar year and will save you a little cash if you visit most the places.

The Ste. Genevieve - Modoc River Ferry offers a delightful way to cross the Mississippi River, connecting Missouri and Illinois. Located just 1.5 miles from the Historic District of Sainte Genevieve at Little Rock Landing, this ferry operates during daylight hours with departures approximately every fifteen minutes for a nominal fee. Travelers rave about the breathtaking views along the journey, making it not just a means of transport but an enjoyable experience in itself.
We didn't ride because we really didn't need to get across the river, but I did want to go back and forth as a pedestrian. We just didn't have the time. The operation looks very efficient and safe. It operated a few times while I was there.

Unreliable, would be helpful to have the running hours posted at the ferry terminal as well. Don't bother calling. Only runs weekends as of now. Its a pretty area at least.

Quite impressed with this river-crossing service! It offers a seamless way to transport your car across the river with speed and affordability. The scenic views along the journey are simply breathtaking, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience. The service staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring a smooth and pleasant trip. I couldn't be happier with my experience and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a convenient river-crossing solution
Natalia S — Google review
The Ste Genevieve ferry is a fun way to go over to Illinois and tour around there. The Mississippi water levels have been too low, then too high and the ferry has not operated for quite some time. It is now back operating again and hopefully will continue to operate as long as the river levels keep near normal. It’s a fairly small ferry but they seem to do a good job keeping you safe during the river crossing.
Jim H — Google review
I called before going there today on New Year's Eve but the lady said that it would be closed until Sunday but I still wanted to go look around. The views of the river were pretty good and there was about a half-mile trail that led into the woods alongside the river which was nice. I can't wait to try the ferry out soon.

Something different. Nice way to cut right into St Genevieve . Sometimes the ferry is on the other side of the river so not always the quickest route . Awesome to see first hand the power of the river and the skill of the captain navigating the current

So this is the first time staying in a place like this. The building, staff, rooms and property are nice. No complaints there. Just note that if you stoping here for a romantic night or some peace and quiet Good Luck. You can hear guests in the rooms next door to you, out in the hall, the activities on the first floor from the restaurant and bar below along with the active street outside. Once again, no complaints on the cleanliness of the rooms, staff or property as a whole, you just won’t have any privacy. If you can hear all of them, they can hear you too.

Kudos to Jesse! She made a phenomenal pumpkin spice martini (shake, shake, shake)! She also (singlehandedly) was waiting on everyone in the restaurant by herself, as well as bartending for all. She handled everything with grace. The food was excellent and reasonably priced.

We had 5:30 reservations at the Audubon tonight and were really looking forward to it. The highlight of the evening was actually before dinner—the Audubon Beer Garden was absolutely wonderful. The bartender was incredibly kind, the live music was a great touch, and the whole space had an amazing vibe. It's located in the cutest little downtown and we were having a blast. Unfortunately, dinner at the hotel restaurant didn’t live up to the same experience. We were seated right on time, but it took close to 20 minutes before our server even stopped by. Luckily, we had brought our drinks from the beer garden, so we weren’t in a rush—but it did set the tone. We ordered quickly, worried we might be in for a long wait—and we were right. Salads were good, but they didn’t arrive until 60 minutes after sitting down. By 7:00, we were still waiting for entrées and had empty drinks and melting patience. Our food finally arrived an hour and a half after we were seated. At that point, I asked for the check along with the meal, knowing it might take just as long. Food was a mixed bag: The salmon was PRRFECTLY cooked The steak was ordered medium rare and came out well done The pork chop was overcooked The fish and chips were cold but the fish had good flavors 2.5 Hours in and out. Killed our other plans for the evening. **seating everyone even when incredibly understaffed. Put tables on a wait! Kinder to patrons, kitchen, and waitstaff. You have a great beer garden. Utilize it and fast apps for those waiting.
Chris S — Google review
Have been to the restaurant numerous times. Last Thursday for lunch I ordered a simple small Audubon salad with chicken. It was not good. The lettuce was wilted and brown, the feta and walnuts were tasteless and soaked in the vinaigrette. When I told the waitress her ONLY words to me were “What’s wrong with it.?” I told her. She repeated “What’s wrong with it?” I told her I would just eat the mushroom we had ordered and she took the salad and my dinner service. I had to ask her to leave the fork. I did not ask for my money back nor did I make a fuss. It seems to me that a brief acknowledgment would have been better than no words at all. She did tell me that she did not charge me for the salad. I told her thank you. Bottom line. Went to Audubon for lunch and got water and some fried mushrooms instead.

Came to this place during the French Heritage Festival last year, and the food was amazing, so we had to stop back by when we were in town thrifting. A complete 180. The etoufee we had last year was amazing. The etoufee we had this time was lukewarm, with no flavor. No spice, barely any salt. Very disappointing.

Terrible service. Stopped in for afternoon cocktails. Bartender and wait staff were not attentive at all. We had to continuously flag down someone to ask for items that we needed. Then itt ook an eternity to get them. One party got up and walked out when nobody would wait on them.

Our Monday evening favorite. We both had the BLT sandwich with bacon jam. OMG!! The best BLT, ever. I had the asparagus with mine - perfect. Very thin and al dente!!! I also tried their blood mary for the first time, great summer drink!!! It was, also, superb!!! We are so fortunate to have this dining opportunity in a city of our size!!!!

If you find yourself in Ste. Genevieve, make sure to stop by Buddy's Place Bar and Grill for a delightful dining experience! This charming spot is perfect for breakfast, offering a fantastic buffet that’s always well-stocked and accompanied by attentive service. Guests rave about the delicious burgers and crispy onion rings, making it a must-visit for lunch or dinner as well. The atmosphere is welcoming with a clean, updated interior and an inviting outdoor patio where you can enjoy your meal al fresco.
First time here at this bar in Ste. Gen. Had a wonderful experience with the owner Mike, who does it all including bartender and Cook! Non-smoking, very clean and updated, outside patio in front, and very good burgers and onion rings. Check it out if you come to Ste. Gen!

We stopped in town for breakfast at a local again that was closed. The guy leaving our group took us to McDonalds. In the parking lot i told him this would not do. I like MCD's but was in the mood for more serious food. I asked a local walking by what he recommended for a great local experience. He said there was nothing finer than Buddy's Place. He couldn't be more right! Looking forward to my next early morning trip for breakfast!

We were first time customer's there. Very nice people. Very Very good food. My boyfriend and I had burgers and fries one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Now he compares all burger against Buddy's and he says not as good of a burger as we had at Buddy's last week...would recommend eating there...

Good food, decent price! Thanksgiving buffet was great. Food was kept fresh, it was tasty -- though we all have our own liver dumpling preference, don't we??--and I was amazed at the price. With delicious pie for dessert and a soft drink for right about $15. Thanks, Buddy's!

The first time I visited was great. Their buffet wasn't very varied but it had good food, and what can you really expect from a small restaurant? However, the second time I was there, me and my family ordered our food. Despite being one of the only tables open, it took a full hour for them to get us our food- and the orders were wrong in multiple places. The food has no presentation, and is just thrown together. On another note, it was very cold in the dining room yet warm in the bathroom- my grandfather said he wanted to eat in there so he could be warm. Overall, I can say I would go again, but only if I got the buffet.

I always look forward to our annual camping trip to Ste. Genevieve. I enjoy the Sunday breakfast buffet every year. The buffet is monitored and filled so you always have the whole buffet to choose from. Coffee cups are kept filled and the hostess checks on you regularly. The price is the going rate. The food is good. Seating is not a problem. I will be back.

Day 4

Off the beaten path
For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Charleville Brewery & Winery. Not quite as popular as Felix Valle House State Historic Site, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 6 hours.

Just a different experience all around. Beautiful views on the drive in but not far off of the freeway. We tried a tasting of the wines but they also offer spirits. They have a fridge full of meats cheeses and even a few beers. We were told on Saturdays they have a spot for pizza and a few other snacks. The walk to the cave is not too far but all downhill so coming back up will be a journey. You do have to buy a bottle to enter the cave but it was only around $20 Once you get to the cave it immediately cools down and you see it for what it is. There is plenty of seating and the view is very pretty. We will be making this a future spot.
Cody W — Google review
This is one of my all-time favorite wineries now. Yes, the cave is AWESOME! But the wines are delicious across the board, the cheese, meats and biscotti you can try during a wine pairing are phenomenal. The staff is extremely friendly and they have beer and spirits too if you’re not a wine drinker. Plus the property is beautiful.
Matt S — Google review
Had a great motorcycle ride to Cave Vineyard. It's about an hour South of St. Louis in the country. My bike handled the hilly and winding roads like a dream. I sampled some wines and spirits, all were very good. I really liked the Rockin' Rosie and bought a bottle. They had meats, cheeses, crackers, and almond biscotti 😋 which I took down to the cave. Some dripping from the ceiling, so I got a lot of "kisses" from the cave (that's what the sign said). 😅
David F — Google review
Coming with kids here Sunday around 11 am is probably the best. Since Saturday has pizza and carts, Sunday was a bit slower, but perfect for family picnic. Get a bottle of favorite wine and snacks at the tasting room and make a short walk to the cave. On the hot day - perfect spot to sip chill wine.
Serge S — Google review
This was such a cool place to visit. We went on a cold and rainy day so we weren't there long. The nice lady at the main bar in the tasting room was very nice and helpful to talk to. The cave was such a unique place. Everywhere you looked was just cool. You must go if for no other reason just because it's different.
John V — Google review
Really cool setup all around . You can see the whole operation. They not make wine , but also distill their own spirts (brandy) and make their own beer . Pretty sure it was one of the owners behind the bar serving up the wine tasting amd making suggestions. Definitely knew her stuff and offered other ideas based after tasting different wines . Of course the cave is cool also and worth a bottle of wine . The decent is decently steep and thr walk up could be hard for some . It was raining the day we visited . I would suggest taking a blower down the path to the cave and getting rid of the leaves was really slippery . Really enjoyed our visit here and would come back again .
Brian A — Google review
Wine is a matter of taste, this is why I do not rate their wine, but a wine tasting out of little plastic cups (Like at the dentist) is something only people do who are not proud of what they produced. Even if you buy a bottle, what is by the way required to see the cave, you would get plastic cups. I hope they improve their service and do something for the taste of their wine and the environment. For me it will be a one time visit.
Thorsten W — Google review
While a bit on the small side the Cave Winery still has quite a bit to offer. The tasting was $5 for 5 tastings. The Rocking Rosie was my favorite of the five the others were too tart for my liking. They serve fresh made biscotti for $1 each and it was very good. They offer a golf cart ride down the paved path to the cave if you don't feel like walking down. You can bring your own picnic lunch with you to eat in the cave. Fair warning...it is damp inside the cave but if that's not to your liking they have a small pavilion with just outside of the cave. There are no restroom facilities at the actual cave site so make sure to go at the main building if you need to.

We spent a few hours here celebrating our anniversary and had a really good time. The staff were nice and very helpful. The selection of drinks were also very pleasing. The view and outdoor seat combined together helped to make a relaxing day. The only thing I warn you about is the long, long Gravel driveway that goes to the winery. It’s completely fine if you are in a truck, SUV or even car but I would think different when taking a high dollar vehicle down the drive. The drive follows along a creek and you can tell the gravel road is constantly maintained due to washouts, but it is definitely maintained. If you do get to the end you will be happy you did. I also love the fact that you can select many drinks on tap and they only charge by the ounce you pour. Great mixed drinks as well.

We love it here, the views are stunning! Great place to sit back and relax and listen to their local musicians. The fire pits add that extra cozy feeling as well! Their staff is amazing, very helpful and attentive to your needs! They make the BEST special drink flights!! Their food is so good as well, I would suggest the pretzels and steak bites. You won't regret it!! It was an overall amazing experience and we will continue to visit frequently!

Had a friend’s 40th birthday celebration here and had the best time! The staff were super friendly and accommodating! The drinks were tasty (the Margarita flight is a must!) and the food hit the spot! Highly recommend the buffalo chicken wontons! 🤌🏻 Everyone had a great time and you can’t beat the view. The sun was out for a bit and was so nice, but we were happy for the outdoor heaters once the sun went down and it got chilly. Overall 5 ⭐️ for sure!

I’ve been to this winery for a few events and well as just a relaxing and of wine and friends. Beautiful scenery, relaxing atmosphere, good food, and friendly staff. The wine selection as well as the wristbands make for a fun way to try different selected wines. The view of the valley is very relaxing.

Had a delightful afternoon eating charcuterie board, pizza, drinking wine and talking with friends. Service was nonexistent, non-attentive and busy with phones. Charcuterie board came with enough crackers for 1/3 of the board, but could buy more. Needed a bucket of ice for chilled bottle of wine, but offered a plastic bag with ice for $5. Delightful, charming location with magnificent view. Need to improve on the hospitality and making customers fill welcome!

Beautiful building and grounds. Large bar with just about everything you could want. Large menu of California and European wines. Lots of great cocktails are available as well. There's a large fireplace in the middle of the room and great views of the surrounding hills. We did not have food during this visit but the menu looked tempting.

Weingarten vineyard has recently changed ownership and is now open again. They have a spectacular building that is well worth going to, with a great bar, large dining area with tall windows for a view and a nice patio dining area. In good weather, the patio/deck area provides a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a drink or light meal while enjoying the view. They are currently open Thursday through Sunday, but would not be surprised if the days and times change as fall and winter approach. Drinks and a lunch menu is available and I understand that a dinner menu will be available at some point.

Weingarten Vineyard is truly a spectacular venue for any event! As a DJ, I’ve had the pleasure of performing here on multiple occasions, and it never fails to impress. The vineyard setting offers breathtaking views, and the venue itself perfectly blends rustic elegance with modern charm. The staff is incredibly welcoming and professional, making every event seamless for both vendors and guests. The atmosphere is perfect for creating unforgettable memories, whether it's a wedding or another celebration. If you're looking for a stunning venue with fantastic service, Weingarten Vineyard is an excellent choice!

Nice view and the building is beautiful. Unfortunately, there's absolutely no table service. If you want food or drink, you go inside to the bar. Or you can order food via a QR Code, but no one comes and checks on you After your food is brought to you. I ordered a nice salad. Unfortunately., it was pretty much lettuce and no dressing. Presentation was great, just no flavor.

This place is truly a hidden gem. Beautiful vistas, gorgeous interior (reminiscent of a church), and incredible food/wine. The owners are genuinely nice people who take great pride in their beautiful business. They recently became an Inn. We were fortunate enough to be their very first guests. The room was absolutely gorgeous. The views from the private porch are stunning. The food and wine was incredible. We had a very romantic evening. I highly recommend his place for a weekend trip, overnight stay, or romantic dinner. Far enough out that you can see the beautiful night sky free of light pollution. Close enough that you don't have to take time off work. Perfect place to spend an anniversary or romantic weekend getaway. Close to pickle springs and other beautiful state parks this place is perfect spot to springboard a weekend trip. Local restaurants like The Kozy and the Dew Drop Inn make this place a must stay. We plan to visit at least once a year and make it a tradition because we love it so much! Important to note: Everything is clean, bathrooms spotless Food is highest quality Huge variety of wine selection The owners treat every guest like family Plenty of parking Owners have their pets on site but they stay outside 🥺 Beautiful interior decorating Quiet and Peaceful Owners accommodate your needs and are premptively considerate Beautiful paths to walk Lack of light pollution Security is sound Private porch Local restaurants are top notch Local parks are beautiful Vistas are beautiful Feel free to ask me any questions This place is only going to get better and better as we were there first guests and they still have a lot of improvements they hope to incorporate. And we still had a five star experience

Watertower Winery provided a delightful surprise with its pleasant ambiance and friendly staff. The gentleman in charge was not only knowledgeable about the wines but also engaged in enjoyable conversation. The opportunity to bring a picnic basket and relax on the deck added to the overall experience. This winery comes highly recommended, as it offers a variety of delicious snacks sourced locally. The breathtaking view of the sunset over the vines further enhances the visit.
We were pleasantly surprised with the winery. I am so glad we stopped. The gentleman was very friendly explaining the wines and nice conversation. I wasn't aware that we weren't being served Watertowers own wine. My husband and I like to support small businesses and would have preferred to buy one of their bottled wines. Only once did the server tell us that one of the tastings wasn't "theirs" We didn't see until later that we had actually purchased a bottle of Beringer. We learned a lesson today.

Chaumette Vineyards & Winery is a top-notch destination that offers an exceptional experience. The meeting space is excellent, and the food and service are of high quality. The bartender, Bret Haines, is known for his delightful cocktails. The grounds are well-maintained and beautiful, providing a serene atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the stars at night. Guests have praised the warm welcome from Hank, the owner, who personally conducts tours of the facility and shares its fascinating story.
Very serene setting overlooking the countryside. They run the risk of building the place up too much, but for now, still feels quaint. Some of the best wine in the area and a nice restaurant to go with it. We got the fancy fries and they were fantastic. Highly recommend going at a quieter time and sitting out on the wrap around porch overlooking the vineyard and nearby farmland. The wine tender behind the bar was fantastic on our last visit and the wait staff was also very pleasant.

Very lovely winery. The grounds around the winery are beautiful. I ate dinner and went on a hike. The food was okay but I was hoping it would of been a little more upscale. The salmon was slightly over seasoned. The hiking is very cool. I added a picture of the hiking map. We went to the other winery and they were closed. You can tell from the pictures that it's worth the drive.

Booked a villa for a night because we were attending a wedding. Absolutely beautiful!!!The wedding and reception area were very charming and the buffet was very nice and quaint. It was a great experience! Ordered a breakfast tray for the morning after the wedding and it was very good. The amenities on site were nice and we made a reservation for lunch the next day and we were NOT disappointed! Beautiful presentation and well prepared. You can tell they use quality ingredients... it comes thru in the taste True to form it was on par with the rest of the facility. It was one of the most relaxing weekends my wife and I have had in a long time. My only minor complaint is the while the servers at the reception and the Tasting Room were all very pleasant and helpful they lacked some refinement that would bring another level to this great place. But please don’t let that stop you from visiting... it really was a great experience and we will be back!

Chaumette has a kind owner, caring and attentive staff, and food that is mouthwateringly delicious. The wine is also fantastic, as it is not as sweet as other Missouri wines. It has a pleasant aroma and a soft finish. The staff were all happy to be working and friendly. The grounds are very well kept and the entire winery was spotless. The prices for lunch at the restaurant are very agreeable, especially considering how well-made they are. My compliments to the chef! I would love to stay at one of the villas in the future. If you are looking for the best winery in Missouri, this is it!

Amazing food! 10/10 recommend the crab dip! The garlic Parmesan fries were good as well but definitely meant to be shared with multiple people. Not pictured is the chicken Alfredo pasta which was lovely. The carrot cake was delicious. We also ordered a bottle of moscato which was sweet and delicious. The views were beautiful and the live music was nice.

We arrived on a Saturday early evening in August and were surprised to be seated on the patio deck right away. I ordered the Sea Bass and my wife ordered a salad. The salad was ok, but it would have been nice if they had asked if the dressing should be on the side as it was a bit drenched. The Sea Bass was very good if not a little lacking in seasoning. However, the corn risotto was a wonderful pairing with the fish and really made it stand out. The deck had a great view, but it was a bit crammed with people and they several were getting up and walking to other tables to talk so servers had a hard time getting by. The staff needs more training as 3x a bus girl / server abruptly interrupted our dinner by taking plates away without asking. It was jarring having an arm thrust in your face without warning as you are talking. The servers also wear short shorts and mini skirts. The whole feeling out on the deck was more of a sports bar than a fine dining establishment.

This is a lovely winery with incredible views. This was a perfect overnight getaway and only about an hour from St. Louis. We really enjoyed the Reserve Chardonel. And we had an amazing meal at the restaurant. We stayed here as part of the Harvest Hosts program and were provided a quiet out of the way place to park our RV. We will definitely be back.

Outstanding, fantastic, flavor-packed food, from start to finish. I chose the eggplant starter and ono fish special with a side of carrots. One of the best meals I've ever had. I did not pair my meal with a wine selection so unfortunately cannot offer a review. Make the drive to this picturesque Ste. Genevieve winery. Also, lovely villas onsite with outdoor pool (in season).

The cuisine at El Potosino Mexican Restaurant is delectable, with the chicken dish (Polo Loco) and the hefty burrito being particularly notable. The chicken is flavorful and enjoyable, while the burrito impresses with its size. Despite some indifference towards other components of the plate, the chicken stands out as truly exceptional. The service provided is commendable, although prices may lean towards the higher end.
This restaurant is such a nice and inviting place and the staff was absolutely wonderful. The decor and aesthetic of the restaurant alone is amazing. Every time we go there everyone is so kind and they always have smiles on their faces. We always get great service and they always come over to check to see if we need anything throughout our meal. The food from here is absolutely amazing every time we go there. I love everything about this restaurant. It is such a nice place to have dinner with the family or to order to go from. They are such kind and amazing people and I recommend that if you like Mexican food to try out this restaurant.

I absolutely love Mexican food and this place ranks as my local go to. This is clearly a close family operation and the love for their customers shows. I have found that that they will bend over backwards to accommodate special needs like food allergies or special diets and I couldn't be happier to give them my return business. As a businessman myself, I really appreciate their customer first way of doing business, and as a foodie I just love the wonderful big portions at a great price.

The food was delicious! I had the chicken (Polo Loco) and my boyfriend had that monster burrito! The chicken was amazing, I'm not too big on the other parts of the plate but the chicken was so good! Bar & grill
After returning to the area following a decade in Florida, I decided to try out Midway Bar & Grill. With two different people raving about the food, I couldn't resist giving it another shot. One member of our group opted for the fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, and coleslaw, while another went for the catfish accompanied by onion rings and coleslaw. The entire meal was delightful and our server was both polite and attentive in keeping our drinks refilled.
We stopped in at Midway to try a totally new place for us. We had the fried pickle chips , chicken nachos , Midway's toasted sub , & the special of the day which was fried chicken with corn & baked potato. Washed it all down with iced tea. The food was good. Our waitress , "Brianna" , was a very polite young lady that constantly checked up on us. The decor was really cool , wood lodge style. Even had a Kawasaki side by side , inside , that they are raffling off. It was a very cool & unique stop. We will be back & will tell friends about the experience....

A fun little bar, and good food... My only disappointment was a) running out of mashed potatoes and b) a catfish platter with only 1 filet? C'mon... Who only eats 1 piece of catfish!? Staff was great, super friendly, and the place was gorgeous with lots of really cool taxidermy all around.

Decided to give the Midway Bar & Grill a try after moving back to the area after being gone for 10 years and living in Florida. Since I’ve been back here, 2 different people said how good the food is.So I thought I’d give it a try again. One person in our party had the fried chicken dinner/mashed potatoes, gravy/ coleslaw One had the catfish w/ Onion Rings/coleslaw Everything was delicious Our server was polite and stayed on top of our drink refills Would recommend, if your in the area to stop by.

This place is a restaurant and bar. Inside all walls and ceilings are covered in wood knotty pine. They have real stuff bear in the corner and heads of deer and elk on the walls. Waitress was friendly and helped me order a bison burger. It came with homemade thinly sliced potato chips. Both were very good. Service was good and I very much enjoyed eating here.

Cute place. The service was good. Food was hit and miss. Wings were overcooked and hard. Alfredo was bland, but it's a bar so...fried pickles were good. French fries were like dry unsalted cardboard strips.

We were here for the Down's Syndrome ride. They had their outdoor bar open and had quick food ready to go for the riders. It was great that we could get it all outside.

This was our first time going to The Midway. It did not disappoint. The inside was beautifully decorated. The food was amazing! We will be back! My husband and I shared the onion rings. We ordered a half portion, but ended up with a full order. Yum! I had the Midway Cheesesteak with peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It was so good! My husband had the 2/3 pound burger that was delicious as well.

Wait was FOREVER for the food (and they were not busy when we got there). Food was very mediocre (son and I had burgers and the wife had grilled shrimp). Fries were cold - like COLD cold, and the burger was, as my son put it, “no where near even a $15 burger”….
