What a great stadium. It's wonderful to go to minor league parks because everything is so handy. Not like going to the big major league parks. It hold 45 to 60,000 people. Here you parked and walk 10 car links to the main gate. They also have fun things out front for the kids to play on. Lots of photo opsis and statues and blow ups. The ticket prices are wonderful and everyone is a great time. Wonderful stadium

Our first game at AdventHealth Stadium to watch the Rome Emperors play against the Greenville Drive on Friday night, thanks to a family friend for the tickets .. we did not realize that there is a fireworks show after the game but it was an awesome bonus .. very fun family experience, we will definitely go back to watch more games this season
Quan N — Google review
The “gold” parking is a joke. They make you wait out on the main roadway to park and hope you don’t get rear-ended. The park itself is great but ever since they changed names it’s gone down hill.
Joshua H — Google review
We had a great time at the game. The ChicFilA fireworks were amazing. Everyone at the stadium was happy and kind. It was alot of fun♥️
Tina P — Google review
Took my kids to their first game and they had a blast! All of the staff were friendly and set a good family atmosphere! Food is a little pricy but nothing compared to major league so honestly it wasn't terrible. It was super clean, even the bathrooms were clean! We can't wait to go back!!
Jazminn G — Google review
Cashless, fun minor league baseball experience. I like the stadium less every year however. Lots of changes, and I didn't see anything online preparing me for the changes. Not great if you have elderly parents.
Charles J — Google review
I'd like it there because it was less stairs to climb. To get to the seats. The staff was very helpful to the seniors. I would go back there again. I just wish they won the game.🙁
Angela A — Google review
Great small stadium feel, seats are very close to the action. Not as many food stalls as it needs, as even for a non-sell out, lines were very long and slow. New team store has a ton of great merch and jerseys can be customized before the game is over. Very nice employees who further provide the small town community feel.

Exhibits about Cherokee history & culture in the 1800s home of tribal leader Major Ridge.
The introductory video that I viewed, just after leaving the admissions clerk station, was very informative and proved to be a good "teaser" for the tour exhibits. Each historical exhibit narrative is definitive and an "easy read". The stairway to the second floor involves stair risers that are a bit higher than what current buildings provide; but that only accentuates the historical context and the building practices of the era. I plan to return this site and explore the content more thoroughly.
Barry A — Google review
House where Major Ridge one of the Cherokee leaders lived. One room talked about Ridge’s life before and after the Trail of tears. Another room had the different owners of the house, how they obtained it and the alterations/ remodeling done on the house. It is a good hour stop. It is a must see if you are studying Indian History. The attendants are friendly. A fee is charged.
Steve S — Google review
I have a decent enough time at the museum. To be honest, the museum itself was a little lackluster, because it was very short and not a lot to do there. That being said, the story surrounding the museum was very interesting. The trip was made worthwhile by the excellent host working at the museum. After the video he gave a short but worthwhile tour. The museum is self could use a couple touchups here and there, but the grounds around the museum were well-kept.
Aren — Google review
The Chieftains Museum is a bit of a misnomer. The Cherokee Principal Chief Major Ridge did live at this site for several years and operated a large farm, trading post, and a ferry. The museum does display a lot about Major Ridge and his family but it also chronicles the subsequent owners. The grounds are also interesting whit information plaques explaining the site.
Terri M — Google review
I visited the museum for a class and drove from Marietta. It took me about an hour and 15 bc of traffic. Although it is a long drive into the country, I enjoyed the scenery. I was hoping to learn more about Native American territory, etc. However I was a little disappointed due to incorrect expectations. It is a self pace tour, but mostly touring the house and artifacts from Natives. It also includes a 9 min history video about the man Ridge and his work with Natives. Great history on house/man, but able to learn this from a history book.
Cassie M — Google review
Every American should visit this museum and learn about the Cherokee Nation! Chieftains has something for everyone: architecture, archeology, gardening, kids' activities, and historical narrative.
Sara H — Google review
I am saddened by the disrepair of the wayside exhibits. This site was excavated by Berry and Shorter Colleges students in the early 70s. Needs a lot of work to the grounds. Still an interesting piece of history. Because it he signed the treaty that led to the trail of tears, Major Ridge was not popular with many other Cherokee people.

It was closed but the gardens were open and as a plant lover I had a fabulous time regardless!

Hoping to save everyone from the nightmare program I put my son into. DO NOT register for these programs! Super disorganized from start to finish. I tried my best to be flexible but it was such a mess I had to pull my son. When I asked for a refund and stated the reasons why I was basically accused of lying until I provided proof and then they blamed the volunteer coach and I quote “not on the Rec” We are new to Rome and so disappointed this is the first program I chose.

We went for a birthday party. The facility is really nice. The kids had a super fun time. The party room for food was a little dated but functional. I really liked seeing the handicap bathroom stalls at the front of the bathroom instead of the back. The staff was a little stand offish but it was later in the evening. The pace was clean and well kept.
April S — Google review
Great place to let the kids run and have fun!
Kenley T — Google review
Great staff and well-organized activities. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for sports or extracurricular activities. My only recommendation is to add something for increased circulation in the gymnastics waiting hall/table area. It gets quite stuffy in this area while we wait for our children to attend their gymnastics classes.
Amelia S — Google review
The party we went to there was fun but for what they charge the kids should get more time to play & They need to have bumpers/cushions around the chains and metal poles which hold up the beams. The staff told the dad of the party that they WILL put them out when their time is up which I thought sounded rude. They also said "hey if you need us we will be somewhere around here"-unprofessional in my opinion.

Oak Hill & Martha Berry Museum is a historic site located in a Greek Revival home and formal gardens, once belonging to Martha Berry, the founder of Berry College. The museum offers itself as a unique venue for special events like weddings, receptions, parties, and business meetings. Visitors can explore the museum and its outside log cabin before joining guided tours of the house and wandering through the gardens.
Interesting tour of Martha Berry's estate. Lovely furnishings indicative of the time period. Don't miss the garage with its antique automobiles. Museum has lots of memorabilia from Martha Berry's life and her founding of Berry College.

Really neat place to visit. The tour guide was great and answered all our questions. I do wish we were able to see more tho. Beautiful garden. The fountains were off tho.
Joanna A — Google review
My group visited Oak Hill because of Sweet Home Alabama. When our tour guide learned that, she told us she could make the tour Sweet Home Alabama centered. She told us lots of info about filming, etc, but still gave us some info about Martha Berry, which was very interesting. After the tour, she let us walk the grounds and take pictures. It is an absolutely beautiful place and even though we came for SHA, we left with an appreciation for Martha Berry.
Megan W — Google review
Great place very interesting and beautiful. This is where sweet home Alabama was filmed. Tour guide was great and very informative of things and answered all our questions. We visited on my birthday Aug 6 2021. All my life I have lived in this area but have never visited here glad I finally did however.
Stephanie H — Google review
I'll be honest, my husband and I only came here because I wanted to see the house from Sweet Home Alabama. We got there just after the last tour of the day had been taken down to get the tour of the house, but a kind young guy offered to take us down anyway. We caught up with the tour that had only just begun seeing the house. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgable about the house and the life of Martha Berry and made the tour very interesting. She even answered almost all of the questions one of the other guests had about the structure of the building and materials used (which was a LOT). Everything was gorgeous and well kept and everyone working there was so kind.
Julia T — Google review
Every time we go to Rome we always say we will go here but just drive past. This time, we finally pulled in. I’m glad we did. This is such a beautiful place and I learned a lot from our experience. We had to wait foe about 5-10 min for our tour guide and then followed her up to the house (I thought it made more sense to ride in the trolley with the tour guide but whatever). She explained the home and a lot of interesting facts. I had no idea Sweet Home Alabama was filmed here which is neat (well some scenes were). My son kept asking a lot of questions and she answered all of them. After the tour she left and we went outside and were able to roam around on our own. We took our time exploring and had a lot of fun. I recommend coming here.
S. T — Google review
Berry College's grounds are very impressive. Lovely landscapes, plentiful wildlife, and impressive buildings. Oak Hill, Martha Berry's home and the nearby musem are well worth a stop. There is a reason this mansion and the adjoining grounds have been used for movie shoots. Mary Grace was our guide and she did a great job. Her knowledge enthusiasm was infectious.

Nestled in the heart of Rome, Georgia, Yummy Thai is a cozy and inviting spot that serves up authentic Thai cuisine. This down-to-earth establishment offers a delightful array of classic dishes alongside refreshing beer and wine options. Diners rave about the fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls, flavorful Pineapple Chicken, and perfectly balanced Pad Thai. The atmosphere is unique and tranquil, making it an ideal place for those craving a taste of Thailand.
While we were in Rome we stopped in at yummy Thai. More than pleased with the food the service was wonderful neat quiet unique atmosphere made for a great dining experience if you're in Rome Georgia and have The Taste for Thai you'd be doing yourself a favor by stopping in that yummy Thai

Nice Thai restaurant with many tofu options for a variety of dishes! Great location in downtown Rome, GA.
D M — Google review
We had a great time at Yummy Thai. The Srimp Spring rolls were fresh, and the Pinapple Chicken and Pad Tai was awesome. It's just the right flavor and not too spicy! The Thai tea was so delicious. The server was helpful with menu ideas and so friendly.
James Z — Google review
We were excited to try this Thai restaurant, since Thai food is a favorite of ours. My husband ordered the drunken noodles, which he orders every time we eat Thai food. I ordered the Basil stir fry. Neither of our dishes had basil. Both dishes were supposed to be on the spicy side, and neither of us felt the heat. Maybe they were out of basil, which is fine, but I would have ordered something else if I knew, because I was really in the mood for the flavor of basil. The food was good despite missing the key ingredient, but it was disappointing. As for the service, I felt as if we were inconveniencing the server, as she came off as rude the entire time we were there. Maybe it was because they were packed, and we came in 45 minutes before closing, but we were out of there before the actual closing time. We may give the restaurant another chance just because we love Thai food, and I'll be happy to change my review if things are different.
Shannon C — Google review
One of my favorite places to eat! I’ve probably tried everything on the menu and it’s all delicious and more on the healthy side!
V V — Google review
I love the food, and I love the location. The acoustics in the restaurant are not great, so if you are sensitive to noise or have a hard time hearing, be aware. The waiter didn't seem happy, and slammed drinks and food down, but maybe it was a bad day.
Catherine W — Google review
Been wanting to try this place out for a while, finally got around to it this evening. Good food and friendly wait staff. Food was a little slow to come out. A little more pricey than I expected. Paid about $30 per person including tip for 1 appetizer, a soup and 2 entrees. Just doesn't like like a place you'd drop $60 plus for dinner for 2. But we enjoyed it and will return.

Nestled in a cozy corner, Jerusalem Grill is a charming eatery that serves up delightful Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes. The warm hospitality of the owners makes every guest feel right at home, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying their fresh fare. Indulge in mouthwatering options like the Kofka sandwich, which features a savory blend of beef and lamb topped with onions, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce.
I've only been to a few Mediterranean places but this one was pretty good. Pictured is the lamb schwarma plate. The rice had great flavor and wasn't over done. The lamb was flavorful but I almost wish it was sliced in bigger pieces. Some were on the dry side but still really good. As far as hummus, it was not amazing but still decent and the pita was soft and fresh. Overall a good experience and the desserts looked decent as well!

Italian restaurant
While on a road trip, a couple chose Bella Roma Grill for its outdoor dining option. Despite not being officially open, the restaurant made an exception for them due to one of them being immunocompromised. Although currently understaffed, the service was still excellent and prompt. The waiter was friendly and attentive, ensuring their food arrived quickly. They ordered the Pasta Milano which consisted of fresh ingredients and was thoroughly enjoyed.
A great little Italian restaurant! Our son recently moved to Rome GA. And we were looking for a place close by to try and found this gem! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS FOOD! GREAT SERVICE! Very, VERY GOOD PRICES! No complaints here at all!!! Everything that I tried was a delectable treat! Mine and my son's pizza was fantastic! My wife says her anchovy Stromboli was DELICIOUS and HUUUGE! Our daughter-in-law ordered the lobster ravioli and said it was really good! All-in-all this is a wonderful restaurant and we will DEFINITELY be going back!

Absolutely spectacular restaurant experience. We were staying at the room tennis center at the Fairfield and wanted to enjoy a dinner where we could sit down and be comfortable and not right on top of people’s conversations and this place delivered. Logan was our server. He did an excellent job wonderful young person. Skilled server very attentive to our needs and treated us with great kindness and appreciation. I was really blown away at how several staff people had obvious relationships with the customers. It was really cool to see the small town vibe and people taking pride and who they are and what they do. 🇺🇸 The food was absolutely wonderful. Our meal started with hot bread and a plate of fresh garlic to go with the olive oil. 🫒💯the entrees were hot and fresh - 🥗 salads were delicious - the house Italian dressing was obviously made daily. I got the taste of Italy sampler and my wife got chicken Alfredo. Just the best Italian food I’ve had in a very long time anywhere.

Ben meaning to come try it out just haven't until today and I can say I love it. Don't know my server name but he was real nice and in point shit everything, the Italian margarita was so good. And the tour of Italy is way better than province. I will return

It saddened me to say I wasn't impressed by the food in any way, not just the fact I'm not very passionate about Thai, but the foods I tried were just too basic. I sampled the Cyclist Salmon, Lemon chicken soup, and Calamari fritti. I was disappointed. The customer service was absolutely on point. Our server was very friendly and nice, filling up our water and checking up on us. The restaurant was nicely decorated and a cozy place to chill and relax. Their prices seem good and there are a lot of options on their menu. I will have to check them out again on a different day to see if the food was just bad that day.

If you're on the lookout for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Pick O Deli Cafeteria. This charming local eatery offers a nostalgic cafeteria vibe that’s hard to find these days. Guests rave about the generous portions and mouthwatering dishes, including standout items like chicken tenders, fried okra, and their famous sweet potato casserole. The atmosphere is casual; you simply grab what you want from the line and ask the friendly staff behind the counter for your selections.
A friend and I drove from Catoosa County today and tried this place for the first time. We were amazed at the quality of the food and the portions were huge. I ordered the chicken tenders, broccoli salad, fried okra, hashbrown casserole, and Mexican cornbread. Hands down the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Even the honey mustard and ranch sauces were delicious, and definitely tasted homemade. The guy with the drink cart was on point and kept our drinks full. We will be back for sure! So good I tore into my leftovers as soon as I got home. A+++

Never had anything that wasn't excellent! I miss the food now that I've moved out of town & it's one of those places I visit every time I go home. The chicken fingers are the best I've ever had! Excellent selection of desserts, as well. The hummingbird cake is my favorite. Service has gone down hill. I've been overcharged more then once at the new location. Only negatives I've experienced in the last year to 18 months.

Nice local home cafeteria type restaurant. Don't see too many of these anymore. Got out of line and pick up what you want. Ask the lady or man behind the counter for for it. When you get to the register each one is is price today individually. At our table we have chicken livers, fried Chicken, fried pork chops. They were all very good. I also had the chicken salad and she's good. The mashed potatoes and gravy were okay. Just sweet potato casserole. Always very good. Two in our groove pad piece of cake and the cakes was excellent, especially the pineapple coconut

Line was super long and moved really slow with a lot of the people getting their orders to go. It was not good for the older crowd that can't stand very long. They need to establish another system for their to go orders. Food was fresh and tasted good. However we had several folks in our party that had sauce (meat), gravy (on chicken & dressing), or cheese (on brocolli) put on their side when they specifically asked for it not to be. One of the elderly gentlemen didn't even finish his meal because of it and was too polite to say anything.

This was my first time eating here and was very disappointed in the price and quality of food. We paid $50 for me, my husband and daughter, we got the chicken fingers, Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. The chicken fingers were very overcooked, the Mac n cheese tasted like it was cheap box brand with shredded cheese on top, and the mashed potatoes well they definitely tasted like instant mashed potatoes. Definitely won’t be back

Food is good we had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The creamed corn was ok not spectacular the food was salty for me but I don't eat much salt. Service was cafateria style but they were all polite. Prices were fair for the type of place.

Food was actually really good 10/9 was my first time ever eating here. I brought my patient we sat down to eat and I had two older gentleman walk up and be rude to me and snatch books from the table and one I tried to hand to him he ripped it out of my hand and was ugly and said he put books on the table to save his seat and said I should’ve known that. How was I supposed to know that when it’s crowded and I’ve never been here. They were just plain out ugly. Took my food to go.

Day 2

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Clock Tower, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Banty Jones Park. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Historical landmark
1872 clock tower with 109 steps offering city views & a museum with murals showing Rome’s history.
Although under construction, the Clock Tower was beautiful, along with a butterfly trail and shady benches to enjoy the views. The neighborhood and surrounding scenery is worth the trip. If walking from the other sites, such as the Lock Bridge, or the Myrtle Hill cemetery, prepare for a short, but steep hike. You'll love the views as you walk along, though. From the Clock Tower, you can actually see the cemetery, and vice versa.
Kim M — Google review
I'm giving it a three due to it being under construction, and the clock was wrapped in plastic. I will be coming back to see the museum they are creating. The scenery is nice with the old churches.
Rhonda L — Google review
I recently visited the clock tower in Rome, Georgia, and I must say, it was a truly heartwarming experience. We were in town for a funeral and were searching for moments of beauty to lift our spirits. The clock tower provided just that. Nestled in the heart of the city, the tower stands as a symbol of timelessness and resilience. Its charming architecture and the peaceful surroundings offered a serene escape from the day’s somber events. As we stood there, we couldn't help but appreciate the intricate details and the way the sunlight danced off its surface. Not only is the clock tower a stunning sight, but it also serves as a reminder of the community's strength and unity. We took some time to reflect and remember what truly matters in life, and the tower provided a perfect backdrop for those moments. If you ever find yourself in Rome, Georgia, I highly recommend visiting the clock tower. It's more than just a landmark; it’s a place to find solace, beauty, and a sense of connection to the world around you. Thank you, Rome, for providing such a lovely spot in the midst of both joy and sorrow.

Amazing architecture and history here. Sits atop a hill overlooking parts of the city. Landscaped beautifully. Was under construction when I visited. Clock was built in Waltham, Massachusetts and shipped here on October 7, 1872. Impressive workmanship. Definitely worth looking at.

Beautiful place. Unfortunately it's still under renovation until July.

This tower is located on one of the hills in Rome and the roads are very steep accessing this site. There is a small parking lot on the west side off of E. 2nd St. and the driveway looks more like a private drive. The tower is surrounded by a beautiful small park. The tower and clock are examples of great engineering.
Terri M — Google review
When the tower is open, it provides a great view of the city and surrounding countryside. The location is a nice place to enjoy a quick workday picnic lunch.

When I go out, my first choice is always Newby Farm + Vineyard. Their Late Rose and Lime Branch Blues wines are my favorites. They also have a great variety of bourbon, as well as beer and wine slushies. Live music is often playing, making it an all-around fantastic place owned by amazing individuals. The owner and staff are extremely hospitable and the atmosphere is lovely. They offer plenty of drink options and delicious food.
Always the best service and a great bourbon bar! Emily makes a great Old Fashioned! Nothing but positive experiences with all of the employees. Jay is super helpful with drink and food recommendations. Carlye makes sure everyone is taken care of. I love the Flatbread pizzas! All are welcome here and I enjoy the mixture of people whether white collar or blue collar. Kevin Allen, Matty Croxton and many others provide great live music. It is certainly a gem to have in Rome.

The new(by) charm of Rome, part of the continuing reinvigoration of the spirit of Downtown Rome, is in the personal nature of business downtown. Walk-in to the tasting room and feel the warmth and welcome, as though personally invited to the vineyard living room. Here, everyone is comfortably at ease, shaking the very hands that have moved the earth, farmed the fields and tended the vines that produced the wine you are sipping. Listen to local musicians, sipping and nibbling charcuterie in the warm light, listening to friendly conversations, and discussing the upcoming seasons’ harvest plans. Notably, the Newby Winery invests heavily in local nonprofits. Farm to table to community has been taken to a whole new level, here. We’re so happy to spend time here.

Museum with regionally focused exhibits on Native Americans, the Civil War & cultural development.
Downtown museum in Rome. Admission is free. History begins after the Indians have left the area or been removed. It tells about the men that began the museum where 2 rivers come together to form a third river. There is a riverboat exhibit about the boats that sailed the river. There are stories about trains. Stories about all the war efforts that Rome was involved with. The first phones were discussed with an exhibit. There was a lunch counter that demonstrated the effects of civil rights. Some memorabilia of movie projectors and student classrooms. The museum was very well done and I was told it was ever changing.

If you are looking for a place to learn about Rome and Floyd county history, this is the first place to start. I spent a great deal of time with all the exhibits and still have to come back to finish, but it will be worth it. Best part is, it's Free ! Another bonus is the outside park for activities including the fountain with water supplied by all three rivers. They weren't running on our visit due to maintenance but plan to come back and enjoy another day.

Italian restaurant
La Scala Mediterranean Bistro is an elegant restaurant that has been serving upscale Italian cuisine since 1996. The menu features a blend of local and seasonal dishes with traditional influences from the family's heritage on the Isle of Capri and throughout the Mediterranean region.
They had a wine tasting event here and I decided to attend. Let me say, it was absolutely fabulous! Now, I will say it got off to a rocky start, but once the food started coming out, it more than made up for this. The menu was meticulously crafted for the evening where each plate was carefully matched with a selected wine. The first plate was an oyster with smoked trout salmon caviar and creme fraiche. This was a great palette opener you started the evening and the only thing missing in this dish was fresh herbs in the oyster. Had small greenery been added, it would have elevated that oyster. The next dish was halibut with mashed potatoes and tomatoes in a buerre blanc sauce which was outstanding! This was by far my favorite plate of the evening. Between the perfectly cooked fish and scrumptious sauce with tomatoes, every bite on that plate ate beautifully. The next dish was hot chicken breast with blue cheese and a carrot and celery slaw. Now me, this dish was a misrepresentation of hot chicken because the sauce was non existent on the plate! I mean a microscopic dash of hot sauce on chicken doesn't necessarily mean it's hot chicken! Hot chicken should be smothered in the sauce or more should have been added to coat the chicken. Now if more of that sauce was on the chicken, it would have been more authentic, but it did taste good. I found that slaw to be a surprise, and it was quite refreshing and crispy. A beef dish came out next over red lentils, confit pearl onions and a red eye demi sauce. As I'm already full by this point, I only ate enough to get a taste and it was delicious! There wasn't much meat on the plate, which one would expect with a beef dish, but it was enough to sample. The beef was prepared medium rare and was cooked perfectly. That red eye demi was flavorful and only accentuated the small 2 pieces of beef. The lentils were cooked perfectly as well and I actually enjoyed those. If I wasn't so full, I would have eaten more of those! Never would have thought to pair lentils with steak, but this nice surprise worked! The dessert was a sticky toffee pudding which was excellent and ended up being the 2nd plate I cleared. The dates and coffee caramel flavor was truly divine! Now that pudding may have been slightly over, but because the flavors all paired well together, and with the allspice truly bringing that dish together, I ate all my dessert! This restaurant really surprised me and I truly had a magnificent evening. It may be a drive, but between the remarkable dishes and how this specially crafted menu paired well with each selected wine, the thoughtfulness and attentiveness to details is what stood out for me. I can appreciate this as a foodie and I must say, I will drive back here any day, anytime for this exceptional food.

father food was good the waitress was attentive and the atmosphere was serene. I had a funny moment. I ordered the duck and they brought it out with all the flare. Big silver dish and as she removed the top I just wondered “ was this duck sick!?” It was really small but it was cooked really well.

I brought my husband here last night for his birthday. I can honestly say this is now my favorite restaurant in the Rome area! The service was amazing. Jennifer was our server she was very helpful, and courteous. Our food was delicious! We went out of our comfort zone dining here, and I am grateful we did. Each dish was very flavorful. The environment was peaceful and elegant, and the service was top notch! We will definitely be back! I highly recommend this bistro to anyone who wants to try something new and delicious!!!!

A Flavorful Surprise—Just Needs a Better Welcome! We stopped by for our first visit, aiming to check out the new tapas bar—only to find no one at the front to guide us. With a bit of confusion, we ended up in the bar area of the main restaurant instead. Thankfully, it turned out to be a happy accident. We kicked things off with a few appetizers, and wow—the Diver Scallops (a nightly special) and Lollidrop Pops (tender lamb shanks) stole the show. Bursting with flavor, they were easily the stars of the meal and left us wanting more. That said, a proper greeting and a quick rundown of the two connected dining areas (they’re attached, but not clearly explained) would’ve made for a smoother start. Offering both menus up front would be a big help for first-timers like us. Despite the bumpy beginning, we had a great experience and will definitely be back. If you haven’t checked this place out yet, put it on your list—you might just discover a new favorite dish!
Quest C — Google review
Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and did a great presentation of the menu specials for that day. She was a bit timid at first because our group didn’t give specifics on how the food orders would be made. The food was served piping hot and everything was presented within ample time considering the large group in attendance for the party. My wife and I have already decided to visit the restaurant again for a date night meal.

Lobster was cooked just right and the deserts hit the spot!

The menu is packed with an array of seafood options and other mouthwatering dishes that are sure to satisfy any palate. During my visit, I was particularly impressed by the John Henry pizza—though not overly large, it was bursting with flavor and left me feeling pleasantly full.
This was our first visit. The restaurant was very relaxed, the food was good, the salad bar was AMAZING, and the customer service was on point. Our waitress was Abigail she had a great personality and was very attentive and informative of the food and menu. The total meal for two was around $60 , and we had plenty to take home. The atmosphere was inviting and upscale, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was absolutely top-notch—definitely 5-star worthy! I started with the watermelon mule, and it was spot on—refreshing, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For appetizers, the jalapeño cornbread and crispy Brussels sprouts stole the show. Both were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend John Henry’s Grill. We’ll definitely be back!

What an absolutely delicious find! A great atmosphere, friendly staff, and WONDERFULLY AMAZING FOOD! The John Henry pizza was fantastic! Not a very big pizza, but it was quite filling and tasty! Their cornbread is so moist and delicious! Everyone in our group was VERY PLEASED with their meals. It is located in downtown Rome so it can be tricky to find a parking spot so do be aware of that, but even if you do have to park a little bit away, you still get to stroll through the lovely downtown area!

Ate dinner here on Friday, 19 September 2025. I thought the steak was seasoned better than Texas Roadhouse. My husband & I split a 12oz NY strip, which came with 1 side. We added another side & 2 salad bars. Meal came to around $55, which is very reasonable. We got there about 6:00 pm. They had a good crowd, but it wasn't packed. Justin was very attentive & was a great server. We will definitely be back.

My daughter RAVED about the brisket tacos while I had the Buffalo jumbo shrimp which were phenomenal. The food came out SUPER FAST and was hot, fresh and so delicious! My cocktail was also amazing! Now, service is super important so let's talk about how absolutely AMAZING Our service was from Gray. He was attentive, checked on us multiple times, and made great suggestions. 10 out if 10! I cannot wait to come back.

Food and drinks were very good, fairly priced too! But the service was awful. Host sat us down and then we waited at least 25-30 mins before our waitress finally noticed us and took our drink orders. She did however quickly bring us complimentary cornbread which was delicious and our appetizer took barely any time at all to come out. She did disappear again after this which made us wait even longer to order and then wait for our food. The rest of the meal went smoothly but there was no one to be found when waiting for the check. Other tables had been neglected too. Overall not bad but could be better.

Love Doug’s! Great selection of delicious sandwiches and salads. Also great cakes but for us it is all about the amazing COOKIES! I live out of state but always have to bring cookies back to the family when I visit!

If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve been coming here for years but today I went in and ordered 2 half and half wrap/salads. I was given the most pathetically small portion of a wrap (reminder that it’s supposed to be a half) and when I unrolled it, it was clearly a sliver of a tortilla that they cut and wrapped. This happened with both of the wraps. Evidently they have decided to cut costs by scamming you on the portion sizes. If this is how Doug has decided to conduct business then I will avoid giving him my money and advise everyone else to do the same. I do not blame the workers as this was obviously a decision made by management to go out of their way and cut the tortillas into quarters before wrapping it. Don’t go here unless you want to pay to still be hungry afterward.

Love this place. We were made to feel so welcome. Everyone loved the fact we were Scottish. Doug is a sweet heart. He welcomed us with complimentary Cheese Grits and great conversation. We saw him treating the families kids with free cookies too. A real family atmosphere with great home Meade healthy or hearty food. I love the open kitchen because you can see the food handling, cleanliness and practices all of which looked great. It’s an American trait to have a lot of disposable cutlery, styrofoam and plastics, so I hope Doug’s can lead the way in this next step to reducing this waste. We definitely recommend it and will visit again.

My mom and I go to Doug's occasionally and we always enjoy it. This day, she and my boyfriend had sandwiches and I had a 1/2 salad 1/2 sandwich. The three of us split one piece of cake. Our bill was just over $50 before tip. I thought it was a little high but everything is. I also think they used way too much mayo. Next time, I will ask for less. I recommend Doug's. They have a good variety of salads and sandwiches made with fresh ingredients and wonderful cakes, cookies, and brownies.

This place is fantastic! It's like Panera on steroids! Its more cost efficient and homemade! The cookies and the cake can not be beat! The detail in the cookie is so beautiful as well as delicious! Just tasted to believe it! We have plans to frequent this place many, many times! Keep up the good work Doug! 😁

Schroeder's New Deli is a beloved Italian-American eatery that has been delighting the Rome community for over 34 years. This charming spot offers a diverse menu featuring mouthwatering sandwiches, pizzas, wings, and nachos, all complemented by a selection of beers. With its inviting sidewalk café and outdoor seating area, Schroeder's often hosts lively events like live music and poetry readings in its picturesque courtyard.
My mom and I stopped in here after my doctor's appointment. We had not been in years. She had the nachos deluxe and I ordered the roast beef relief with a side of fried okra. Mom said these are the best nachos that she had ever had. Roast beef relief is one of the best sandwiches I had in a long time. Fried okra was a very large portion and fried perfectly but it was more than I could eat so I took it home. We will definitely be back try other things off the menu.

Sandwiches and pizza were pretty good, but very unimpressed with the managers attitude. My sisters ordered "nachos" and anyone would think something like ballpark to gourmet nachos right? They came out on foil. Like chips lined up with American Singles on top. We let out waitress know that it wasn't what we thought and would like a refund. She brought out the manager, my sister said "they literally look like a struggle meal" to which the manager responded "that's rude." We explained how this is not nachos... and the manager said yes it is, they're oven baked, "that's how it's advertised" (it's not). We did receive a refund for the sad excuse of nachos, but I'm disappointed in managements response. We won't be back. Thanks!!

We were here for lunch on a Monday. Was pretty quiet inside which I appreciate. Staff were amazing. We never had to ask for a drink refill. Our waitress was just there with it! Such a fun gem to find!

We stopped by Schroeder's New Deli today for lunch today. Once inside we found a table, were given menus and ordered two coke zeros, which our server brought out quickly. Schroeder's was somewhat busy and we were respectful knowing it might take a little longer to get served. But, after a while we were noticing the server after going outside, then he proceeded to sit down for a visit with customers at a nearby table and afterwards, followed up with his other customers close by too. He serviced his customers arriving after us with their orders. The server never came back to our table to take our order. We finally asked another server if someone was going to take our order. She directed him to us and once again, he ignored us and stopped by the other customer's table for another short visit. Unfortunately, when got to us, he was very rude and we just asked for empty cups to pour our drinks in to go, and offered to pay. All the other servers were busting their tails to provide good service and not sitting down to visit. We left disappointed with the lack of service and went somewhere else. Note, we've been here before, but not in a long time and live approximately one hour from Rome. I used to order catering from this place a lot for our corporate meetings when we would meet in Rome. We can no longer 100% recommend. However, we will continue to Support Local places, just not Schroeder's New Deli.

4.7 stars. Cool vibe and good lunch selections. Opted for the French Dip and we weren’t disappointed at all. Served quickly on warm crusty roll with the temperature of the meat perfectly melting the cheese. Au jus cup of sauce also nice and hot and delicious flavor. Not overly salty as in many other places. Good service by Jesse too. It hit the spot ! It’s popular for a good reason. See for yourself.

Walked in with my family a little over an hour before closing. We’re a family of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) unfortunately we were greeted by the wait staff sitting out the counter with frustration that we were coming in an hour before closing. The one girl said “Oh hell, no!” and continued to complain. We immediately walked out. We frequent there often and have never felt so disrespected. What a shame. We’re down the street at Moe’s BBQ as I write this and won’t be back. Their loss! We tip well when we’re out.✌️bye 👋

You can’t beat the Nachos with Pepperoni it’s been an icon for decades!!! Caleigh and her service is unmatched and the rest of the menu is very accommodating and delicious for all! Schroders is a must when in Rome! Don’t forget to have your Nachos on the Patio!!! 🤩

Been enjoying this joint since i was a freshman at Shorter in 1986. Had my first Roast Beef Relief in almost 20 years and it was still just as good as back then. John may have retired but the Schroeder legacy lives on proudly! Great place!
