Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Top O' the River is a long-standing, family-owned restaurant that offers a casual dining experience and specializes in serving its renowned catfish along with an array of other seafood dishes. The restaurant's signature meal starts with hot cornbread, pickled onions, and coleslaw, followed by an extensive selection of seafood including catfish, shrimp prepared in three different ways, stuffed crab, and hushpuppies.
We came from Cullman to visit some family the other day and had the pleasure of getting to take my mother out to dinner so we chose to come here. The service was good and fast. The food was very good plus the quantity was good for the price. The coleslaw was an absolute home run best coleslaw on the planet, the cornbread was very good as well. The fried catfish fillets were definitely on point with their homemade tartar sauce! The fried chicken fingers with their homemade pineapple sauce was fantastic! Highly recommend.
Roadside-Pro — Google review
The food was not bad, it was edible and it filled me up, but In my opinion, the ribeye steak was over cooked, the corn bread was huge and tasteless. Don’t still understand why I was given onions on the side, never asked for them and wasn’t told it came with the steak, to me the onions were just a waste. But the main thing that disappointed me was the cheesecake with “strawberries” on top. There were no strawberries, just a watered down strawberry glaze. It tasted good, but it was runny and not 1 strawberry. Like I said the food was edible, it tasted good, but it was NOT worth $50.

The best catfish restaurant in Alabama!!! Our server provided excellent service and was very attentive. The food came out in a timely manner despite the restaurant being packed. Each dish was prepared well, and everything tasted delicious! Highly Recommend

Gracie our waitress did a fantastic job and she and her team made my friends abd clients feel very special when they sang happy birthday to Joseph. The food was tasty and the view pretty.

♿️ Accessibility is fantastic and the wheelchair ramp is not angled too high to maneuver up or down on your own or with help. The food is incredible. I got the fried shrimp and hand cut fries. Hushpuppies were included and delicious. Before you begin, they bring tin plates, cornbread that is piping hot and coleslaw (sweet, not vinegar based) and pickled onions. It's all fantastic. Our food came out fairly quick, bc they were still almost a full house at 45 minutes to closing time. We had an excellent server with a very welcoming and friendly attitude. Customer service was amazing. I wish I had gotten her name. The prices haven't gone up too much, which surprised me. Especially for all the food you receive and how good it is. I recommend going during the day, so you can see that you are on the river. You can even walk down the deck and feed the fish with your kids. The catfish is recommended and so is the shrimp. I've eaten there several times and get that every time. I can't see anyone disappointed with either of those 2 items. The cocktail sauce tastes homemade, I've never asked, but everything there is and you can taste the difference. Will return, as its one place I know is consistently good every single time.
Melinda L — Google review
First time eating at location and not impressed. Catfish had gray pieces and tasted like mud. Slaw was very good
James S — Google review
I’d never been to this restaurant. Many said it was good. I enjoyed who was there with us but I’ve been there once, that’s enough.
Dee B — Google review
If you are looking for great seafood, this is the place! Immediate seating without a long wait; coleslaw, hot homemade cornbread, and pickled onions served after drink orders as appetizers. Gobahead and order tge greens! The whole catfish with fried crawfish tails and baked potato were delicious. Hubby had the catfish fillet dinner. A delicious Sunday afternoon treat! Forgot to take pics!

This place is a blast. Very kid friendly and the employees are really helpful with whatever you may need. The prices are affordable and they have different events throughout the week for all ages to enjoy.

Wow, Amazing! I am a full time rollerskater & I have been to roller rinks all around the country. This has to be one of my most favorite rinks. It still has the old-school vibe but with a clean new feel. The staff & rink owners are observant & ame to please. I love the beautiful wooden floors & the lights are top notch. I attend the adult session on the 5th Sundays of the month. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this amazing rink and it's community. God Bless, The Nanny Jam

Always a fun time for my mini at Merry Go Round Skate. So many changes have been implemented, wanted you all to know that they don't go unnoticed. You are doing a wonderful job keeping the excitement and entertainment for families. The updates to the facility are pretty cool too. The updated art work adds a nice touch, arcade updates, the party rooms.... enjoying all of our visits and we will add more throughout this summer. Thank you for the events that you have been hosting, adding a lot of variety to the average skating rink.
Sheriece — Google review
We celebrated my daughter’s 9th birthday with a public party here, and I was honestly impressed. Booking was simple, and I appreciated how clearly everything was laid out. The kids got to skate the whole session, and our party room was clean and ready when called. The staff helped us get our cake to the snack bar, and the whole vibe was easy and fun. Super glad we chose them.
Peter D — Google review
We love this place! I was at the all you can eat pizza night and it was fabulous! I had been following their FB page and seen the ALL YOU CAN EAT PIZZA posted and I am so glad we went. We tried all the pizzas and they were all wonderful! Some lady was in there arguing with the owner cause she tried to sneak a salad in her kids diaper bag and the owner told her she couldn’t bring in outside food. I thought that was wild for the lady to argue; especially since there are so many signs posted regarding outside food, and, its called All you can eat pizza.. 🤔🤷‍♀️ The owner is wonderful! Y’all go give this place a try!!
One P — Google review
My daughter had a great time. We went when they just opened during the summer so it was pretty empty for while. I do wish I could have brought my water in as a parent. Otherwise we had a great time.
Kristin G — Google review
Music could be better. The snack bar is closed and the drink machine is broken so there is no way to hydrate. Edit: when we finally begged for some water, the employee said she could only give us one cup... And she charged us $2. Edit 2: yikes... This is the way y'all talk to your customers? If you had been nicer I would have been willing to change my review. I guess being humble is out these days.
McKinley K — Google review
I visited this skating rink while in town with my kids and was extremely disappointed by how they handle food allergies. I paid for the “all you can eat pizza” and skate package for myself and my children. I have serious food allergies and brought a simple salad for myself, since I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat the pizza. When I politely asked if I could eat my own food, I was told no outside food or drink was allowed—even for allergy accommodations. I then asked if I could step outside to eat and was told I would have to pay again to come back in. When I asked if there were any food alternatives for people with allergies, I was told the only option was pizza. It’s incredibly disappointing that a family-oriented place like this would be so inflexible and unaccommodating, especially when food allergies are a serious health issue. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with dietary restrictions.

Shopping
Gadsden Mall, located at the interchange of U.S. Route 411 and Interstate 759 in Gadsden, Alabama, offers a variety of interesting stores despite not being very large. The Book-A-Million store is particularly impressive with its stock. Visitors can also enjoy the Coosa River, which offers activities like fishing, boating, and swimming while providing beautiful natural scenery. The mall features a quiet atmosphere and stores ranging from clothing to sports equipment.
This mall has stood the test of time. We come here for Blacklight Mini Golf. My son loves all types of golf and I bring him her every chance I get. I enjoy walking around the mall and visiting Books A Million while I'm here since they closed the BAM in my area. I do so other stores in the mall as well, it's a very comfortable place to shop.
Brigette B — Google review
Great place to shop. I've been coming here since I was a kid. I remember the arcade that was in the mall. It's 2025, and there are plenty of upgrades.
Junior J — Google review
I enjoy coming to this mall. The store I like is located here which is 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 up. I am falling in love with this spot called Tea 🫖 Lab 🥼 and maybe registered as a Rainbow 🌈 Nutrition. I have included vids and pics below on cool 🆒 😎 tea ☕️ topics. Also, I spend a-lot of time at American Deli and it seems like a lot of other people as well. Though, who can resist hot 🥵 wings 🪽 w/ cajun ranch and cheese 🧀 fries 🍟. I gave the mall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it’s a questionable moldy odor that lingers off and on in Belk’s department store. At times, it can be fatigue to smell. Instead, a decision should be made to relocate Bath and Body Works to that department store location. It might help mask 😷 the smell👃🏾. Thanks for reading my Revu-a-holic Time 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

Very few stores but it was clean. This Bubble Tea shop was selling what they said was Dubai Chocolate bars for $9.00 each, but these were completely unmarked with no nutritional or contact information. The wrapper was a home printed label with no information on it. After I asked for the manager info so I could find out who the vendor was, I stepped out to speak to my family and the guy closed the store! We'll, Anyway....

Used to be great. Still has some gems but a lot of boring stores. Check out Americann eagle the movie theater diamonds collection Hibbett shoe department books a million arch eyebrows black light golf American deli and the nail salon they are my favorite
Susie S — Google review
Went in the mall to Books A Million. I live in Rome and my son and gf took me there for mother's day until the time of his gfs eye appointment. Because I love books. I haven't been in that mall in years but it looked fantastic as we walked threw it.
Amanda — Google review
This mall has potential and still offers some great options with a few larger stores and an updated movie theater. It’s nice to have a place to shop locally, and while the food court is a bit outdated, it’s not without its charm. The mall is generally organized, and I’ve always found the staff at the stores to be friendly. That said, there are a few empty storefronts, and the carpeting could really use a deep clean, as there’s a musty smell that lingers. There also seems to be a security concern, which is something to keep in mind. Overall, while there are areas for improvement, I still think the mall has potential and could be a great spot if it gets a little TLC and some updates.
Heidi S — Google review
To be such a umm let's just say there isn't a lot of money in Gadsden due to the commerce.. anyways.. the mall is quite large and full of almost anything you need.. it's definitely a nice mall.. I was not expecting it in that little town period.

Coosa Landing Boat Launch, located on the eastern banks of the river in Northern Alabama, is a popular spot for fishing and enjoying scenic views between historic bridges. The addition of The Riverwalk at Coosa Landing provides a great setting for activities such as exercising, birdwatching, and fishing. The marina hosts various national, regional, and local fishing tournaments annually and offers parking facilities for boats/trailers/trucks.
Very nice and clean grounds, restrooms, and trail. There is a variety of wildlife located here and plenty of benches to enjoy the views. It is very quiet which makes fishing, meditation, and many other exercises a breeze to finish. I saw many visitors there with their dogs. There was plenty of parking and boating area werr easily accessible.

Back Forty Beer Company is a craft beer company located in Gadsden, housed in a historic 1940s red-brick warehouse. The name "Back Forty" refers to the most fertile soil on farmland, and the brewery takes pride in its high-quality and popular products. With creatively named ales like Naked Pig and Truck Stop Honey, visitors can enjoy a variety of pale ales, brown ales, and specialty beers.
Had a fantastic evening with a live singer 🎤✨! We enjoyed two amazing beers - the "Truck Stop Honey Brown" 🍻 and "Coffee Stout" ☕️, both perfect pairings for delicious burgers 🍔🤤. The burgers were absolutely delightful, especially the one with the special sauce! Great place to spend an evening with friends. 🌟
Vivre E — Google review
I am a huge fan of the Birmingham location - infact the Birmingham location is the proud owner of my favorite burger in existence. I was SUPER EXCITED to learn that this was the original location and that it also had a burger. The burger at this location isn't bad...but it is absolutely mid. It's unremarkable and is just a burger. It's sad that the food levels are not consistent between locations. I was also here at 2pm on Saturday and the place was dead - yet it took almost 30 minutes to receive our food - at the Birmingham location I've never waited more than 10 minutes. While it may not be "fair" to compare the two of them...this is not a big chain or conglomerate. The Birmingham location is just superior in both wait times and food quality. The BamaMosa is absolutely wonderful at both locations :)
Karen E — Google review
My second time visiting and I had similar experiences both times. If you are visiting for the first time and sitting at the bar, it’s always unclear if someone will come take your order or not. Once we finally got someone’s attention service was good. We shared the burger that came with tasty fries. We had it medium raw and last time it was almost still mooing so consider that when you order. Their food menu is pretty small—-basically salads, burgers and hot dogs, or pizza. A larger appetizer menu would be nice.
Heather P — Google review
"My recent experience at the Back 40 was nothing short of a disaster. The pretzels were so overcooked they were practically inedible. The salad was a joke – it was barely a full portion, and the wings were bland and flavorless. As for the "bean dip," it was a tiny, unimpressive serving that looked more like a side dish than a main course. The entire meal felt like a rip-off, especially considering the prices. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place. If it wasn't literally 24 hours since I ate last I would of sent the food back..on top of that you order and pay for your food first..the pretzels were beyond cooked. The pictures speak for themselves..the salad had very litter chicken for a 4 dollar upcharge. The previous favorable reviews have to be fake. No one was eating here only drinking so they must know the food sucks too. I will never come here again..this is the second worst place in gadsden...PERIOD..

Awesome gem of a brewery. Visited with my Daughters and Granddaughters. We really enjoyed our time there. Great beer selection. My Daughters enjoyed the Miami Vice drinks. Pizzas were delicious. But Buddy, the Apple Tart desert will have you picking the bowl! 🥣

Back Forty Beer Co seems to be on the fringe of downtown Gadsden, Al in what appears to be an old warehouse. It's a decently cool and trendy place with a sizable brewing operation. I stopped in for dinner and to try a local beer and my experience was positive. The coffee stout is made with a local coffee co cold brew, so that's pretty cool to see local companies support other locals. I also ordered the smoked reuben sandwich, and it was pretty good. I didn't taste much smoke, but that did not detract from the overall quality of the sandwich. The brewery has a nice outdoor setup with chairs, tables, and a stage for what I'm guessing is local music. It's a nice setting for a relaxing evening, I'm sure.
Chris M — Google review
They have made some nice changes since I was last here 6 years ago. The deck/ patio is very nice along with the outside stage and cornhole area. The inside has an extra area for seating where you can view the beer vats and still be up at the bar or on seats. For the beers on tap, they seemed to have expand the selection and the food choices have become more pleasant as well.

The employees were friendly and were working quickly and efficiently to prepare orders and get them out. It didn't take long, at all for my daughter to receive our order. It was correct, hot and delicious. I give this location 5 stars, hands down.

To anyone who is going to put a negative review. Before you do. Ask for Shane, Jason and/or the store operator Carter. they will help make your visit a lot better. Out of all the fast food or restaurant this is 1 of the few and I mean very few places you will see the operator/owner willing to help the staff out because he takes care of the staff and customers very well.
Clay D — Google review
Fast food that doesn't taste like most fast food places. The chicken is always top quality and cooked perfectly. They have the best lemonade I've ever found. The service is always fast and friendly. It amazes me at the quality of the dining experience you get here when compared to other places. I'm glad they close on Sundays, but that always seems to be the day when my family wants to go there. I wish they would add something new to their menu. Maybe a new type of salad or a new cajun style chicken sandwich.
David T — Google review
Typically this is my favorite chick fil a the owner and his wife are both so nice. However the last two times I have been in I have had bad experiences. A friend and I went on our lunch break and we had to wait on her order so long that we had to leave without her food and she was ignored twice when she tried to ask about her order. Today I ordered curbside on lunch and I waited forever. I finally got my sandwich and it was probably the worst chick fil a sandwich I’ve ever had. It tasted like grease I couldn’t even finish it. I hate to even leave a bad review but I feel as though I haven’t got the chick fil a service I’m used to the last few times I’ve visited.

Had a catering order and called when I arrived, even early. Let them know I was outside. I wanted for almost 20 mins, 15 mins past time it was supposed to be ready, causing me to be late to lunch business meeting. I called in multiple times to let them know I could come in and get it but they were so matter of fact about them getting the order pulled together. Worst part is this was only for 10 people! It’s like they forgot about the order and started preparing it when I called the first time. Will not be ordering again and do. Or recommend for catering. Never had experience like this at a chic Fil a

Clean and well maintained, Chick-fil-A is alway and good place to eat. The grilled chicken wrap is superb! Order with waffle fries and ranch dressing. Great to the last bite. Also the breakfast chicken bites are excellent. Tiny yeast roll with a scrumptious bite of their original chicken. I could eat my weight in them.

The drive thru is so slow. They do not get in any hurry at all. I have worked fast food & I worked the drive thru, we had a timer that we went by especially during peak hours. To make sure the cars kept moving. However I don't think that applies here. Some people are driving through on their hour lunch. When you sit in line for almost 30 min you barely have time to enjoy your food. Just seems like something could be done differently to make this move faster.

Ordered in Door dash. Everything about doordash was great, the tacos that we ordered were great, I ordered the lemon pepper chicken fingers, it tasted like they had a whole bottle of salt on them. The lemon pepper flavor would have been great had it not had so much salt, I could eat one chicken finger and felt like I was going to have a heart attack because of sodium content. However the fries and the toast were awesome as well, but I will never order the lemon pepper chicken anything from them ever again, we are liable to have a heart attack from the sodium content.

It’s been almost week and half or little longer the card reader in the drive through had been broken. They say it’s a tech issue. I believe it’s poor management issue. Shouldn’t take that long to fix a card reader. They say you can get out and come inside. That is a inconvenience for me I don’t get around well.

I told him that was racist and that I would have his job.

American restaurant
Nestled in Gadsden, Alabama, Jefferson's is a beloved eatery that has become a staple for both locals and visitors. This laid-back American chain specializes in mouthwatering chicken wings, juicy burgers, and fresh oysters, making it the perfect spot for casual dining. Since its inception in Jacksonville back in 1991 by Jeff—who envisioned a cozy hangout for college students—Jefferson's has maintained its welcoming atmosphere.
Great food, friendly service, and sports vibe. A variety of food selections, but mostly chicken heavy. Plenty of tv’s to watch sports. Outdoor seating also. Tell’em I sent you. They won’t have a clue who I am but probably make them feel good😎

We loved the spot, the service, the food. Yet, we wanted to eat outside and we were inundated with flies from the moment our beverages arrived. We attempted to eat the apps while we covered them with napkins. Too much! Ended up boxing our dinner up and taking it home. Great food! Just plan on eating inside.

Out with our dog and miles from home trying to find somewhere pet friendly. Jefferson's was happy to accommodate and even provided a bowl for our fluffy friend. Service was absolutely amazing. Jamie was a great server, my glass was never empty and she got what we needed before we could ask. She made for an excellent experience. I will certainly be back and would recommend stopping by, especially if you have a pet.

The garlic Parmesan flavored chicken wings was finger licking good. Very nice and comfortable place to bring your fur baby, my Arya was treated very well and the waitress was super friendly. The back outdoor seating area is covered, has fans going, has the television going and music playing in the background. It was a great dining experience. Highly recommended!! Take your fur baby out for some chicken wings, those wings are calling!

My youngest and I stopped for lunch. The food was excellent and my only complaint that is nit picky was that they had 4 TVs clustered together and on but not receiving a signal so just had an error code. There were TVs on the other side of the room that was off so this was the only distraction on the atmosphere. Our server recommended the fried pickle burger and it was awesome. I highly recommend and look forward to visiting again so I can try other options 😁

Food was amazing, oysters were higher priced than expected but that was probably market, but they tasted amazing, we had the Rockefeller with spinach and bacon. We also had the Philly fries and a chicken salad and brunch burger. All good was delicious, we left absolutely stuffed. And our server, Jamie, was very attentive and made good suggestions that we will try next time.

Great food, timely service. Our server Amanda and their team accommodated our service dog and us wonderfully. 10/10 recommend and will be back.

We were looking for somewhere to watch the football game and everywhere else in town had closed early so we ended up here. Staff were very attentive, lots of TVs to watch sports, otherwise the inside isn't really anything special. Food was decent, drinks were on the pricey side but overall a good experience.

Restaurant
Applebee's Grill + Bar is a full-service chain restaurant offering hearty American cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. The establishment is well-maintained both inside and out, with no signs of being understaffed. The server was friendly and attentive, providing excellent service. The highlight of the menu was the Prime Rib Dipper, a delicious sandwich filled with generous portions of succulent beef topped with melted Swiss cheese and sautéed onions.
The food was good, service was great, and It was all done in a timely manner at lunch. I had the Oriental Salad with fried chicken pieces. It was crisp, the lettuce was fresh and it was overall an amazing visit. My daughter had kids chicken taco and mozzarella sticks. She had taken bites out which is why there are no pics. Also we had the Blue Lemonade, it's our favorite!

Food NOT worth the price Appetizer took 25min to get & was cold by the time the fry cook(according to waitress) could be inconvenienced to ask for the included condiments. Our drinks stayed filled. Food took 35 min after ordered to come out. Took 2 bites: chicken was dry and charred. Waitress explained they were out of broccoli & apologized. Manager was no where to be found. Luckily I wasn't on my lunch break, because the lunch menu was not capable of getting fulfilled in a timely manner.

After driving 7 hours, we found this place open and was almost time to close (about 30 minutes). They received us in a polite manner (not in rush). The food was so flavory, the meat and the chicken breast well cooked. The server was very nice.

Food didn’t taste bad, just cold. I could do warm, but cold (room temp) is a no for me. Our Server was super sweet, but they stuck her with 2 large tables, and this caused her to not be as attentive… and by that, I mean she took our orders, brought our drinks, and gave us our check… otherwise, no other interaction. and no one else offered to help us…. Although, the hostess did get us refills when we asked.

The Chicken Won Tons are back! This is my meal. Won ton wrappers shaped like taco shells fried crispy and light filled with spicy chicken and coleslaw. Delicious! I did get the salmon, the flavor was good it was the correct temperature but it was very tough and dry. Like it had been sitting too long before it was served. The burger had an excellent taste moist and juicy with a homemade texture. There is ample parking. The restaurant was clean with plenary of seating. The service was prompt and very friendly.

The wonton taco appetizer is great! The Sampler platter app was ok except the spinach -type dip was terrible. Our previous visit was a dry rack of ribs, so won't be trying those again. The long island iced tea is almost undrinkable. Margaritas are on Happy Hour but if wanted frozen, they're $5 Extra - and not really frozen, just chunky icy.
Mona M — Google review
Ordered the bourbon street chicken and shrimp. Got a salad instead of the mashed potatoes. Waited over 25 minutes for just my drink which was just water. Finally got my food and it was so salty I couldn’t eat it it was crunchy with salt. And they refused to remake it. So pretty much had to pay 23 bucks for a 6 dollar salad. Will not be back

Very clean inside and out. Didn’t seem to be too short staffed at this time. Friendly and attentive server. Prime Rib Dipper was a wonderful sandwich piled high with hot beef covered with melted (Swiss) cheese, and sautéed onions. I throughly enjoyed this sandwich. **It does come with America cheese but i preferred Swiss. The dipping sauce was very bland, watery, tasteless onion sauce, they need to work on but the sandwich was very good and worth the price. I does come with fries.

Noccalula Falls Park & Campground is a 250-acre public park in Gadsden, known for its breathtaking 90-foot waterfall. The park offers a variety of attractions including a gorge trail with historical and natural sights, botanical gardens, a suspension bridge, and even a petting zoo. Visitors can explore the 1.7-mile trail that winds through rock formations and shrubs while enjoying the picturesque scenery.
My first time here. It is absolutely beautiful 😍! The falls had hardly any water going over, but it is still very nice. They were having some kind of festival and it was a little crowded, and hot! I will be back, I want to see it when the falls are really full of water 💧 ! Come see, you won't be disappointed. Nuff said..

Great RV Park. It's laid out well with nice roads and level concrete pads. Great location to see the water fall and walk all the trails. This was the first time we saw the waterfall so slow. We've been here several times over the years. If you ever get a chance to see the Christmas Festival at night in the park, you must do so!

We saw an ad online and checked out their website. It looked beautiful & an easy walk so we decided to visit. Yes you can hike to the falls & no it isn't an easy hike. It's not easy & not well marked. If you're going for the campground, what I saw looked beautiful. The park is well cared for. Beautifully manicured. It is pet friendly but you have to watch your step. Some people still don't pick up behind their pets.

This is definitely a place you want to stay at. When we first got there I was greeted by Whitney, she is very nice and welcoming. We got to our site it was very clean and everything was nice and new. We had Sonya, Jason, Whitney and Tru all come by our camp site and check to make sure all was good. You cannot find a better bunch of folks to be a part of a campground. My wife and I felt like we gained some new friends for life. So much to do, hiking, visit the park, go into Gadsden for shopping and get a great meal. If you are looking for a great place to stay go to Noccalula Falls Campground. It was great stay, and we can’t wait to go back and see our friends.

This is an awesome day trip (closes at 5 pm) for the whole family. Falls and train trip costs $10 (adults), $0 <3 years and $8 for 6-12. Has camping site. Also houses some animals- skinless pig (so cute- you'll be surprised!), axolotl, kangaroos, tucan among others. Has a park outside for kids. You got to taste the Popsicles at the ice cream shop.

We stayed at the campground ( first time) and we will definitely be back. The staff is friendly, very clean grounds. Over a couple of days I met one staff member because he was always cleaning or picking up around the grounds… early and late. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Shout out to Tommy!

My family & I really enjoyed ourselves here. My kids loved the animals & getting to pet them. The walk down to the gorge of the water fall wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Denisha G — Google review
One of the best falls visited so far. The timing was appropriate to experience the good flow of water. The creek at the top was calm, but the falls gave a different experience. The hike to the falls was moderate and hard near the falls. But worthy for the view and experience it gives. The park got lot of stuffs to kids occupied. The mini train ride included in the ticket is a plus to navigate across the park area. The petting zoo, mini garden and a good view of the falls makes the park a best place to hangout for a day.

Waterfall
Noccalula Falls is a stunning 90-foot waterfall located in Noccalula Falls Park, offering visitors a range of activities such as hiking, petting animals, mini-golf, picnicking, and camping. The park also features a statue of Princess Noccalula, adding a touch of history and legend to the natural beauty. The falls are easily visible from above without requiring a long hike and there are extensive trails for those who wish to explore further.
This waterfall is stunning! This is by far the best viewing waterfall in Alabama I’ve seen. I got to see Gods promise while I was there which made my trip well worth it. There is a viewing platform up top that is super easy to get to just a couple of feet. Then there are trails to get down to the lower part of the fall. We cut through and climbed down where we seen we could and only hiked a quarter of a mile. I would recommend taking the trail though because there were other waterfalls along the trail. We walked behind the fall underneath the cave but unless you are semi fit I wouldn’t recommend it especially not with young children. I almost fell multiple times and had to slide down a few rocks and got all sorts of dirty but it was worth it to me! The park was very well kept, and super clean. I highly recommend this waterfall to everyone even if you aren’t able to get to the bottom of the fall the top has a beautiful view as well. PSA be careful there is poison ivy, and sumac in the area…
Tonya G — Google review
Very nice park. There is a park on one side with a play ground. Several walking and bike trails through the falls and gorge that are marked and maintained. We showed up in a drought so there was not much water going over the falls but it was still pretty.

This park has everything to offer that you coukd want for a lovely, scenic day outdoors. They offer camping, walking trails that lead to the waterfall, covered pavilions for picnics, train rides, playground, petting zoo & even chapel rentals for weddings. My family spent all day here & still was only able to explore maybe half of what all Noccalula had to offer.

Well, don't expect a lot of water falling in mid-October, but it was still going! Second time I've been here and it really is a cool place to get out and about for at least a half day. The paths around and behind the falls are free and open. They start by the parking lot as concrete and go down to the river where the paths are dirt. From there, you can explore the bridges, or wander to other paths that go for miles. Signage keeps you informed of where you are. The area behind the falls is quite large and gives thought to how little they will find if it came down on you ;0). But didn't worry about that, live a little, laugh a lot, and love even more!
Phillip L — Google review
Noccalula Falls is a beautiful place to visit! I recommend doing one full lap on the train so you can get a great overview of the entire park before exploring. The trail down to the falls is navigable, but if you’re unsteady on your feet, the view from the top may be the best option for you. Either way, the scenery is stunning and well worth the trip.

The Gadsden Kiwanis Park, also known as the Ola Lee Mize Patriot Park, is a remarkable display of memorabilia from the Vietnam era and serves as a beautiful tribute to all members of the armed forces. The park features an impressive assortment of structures and plaques that honor these service people. Notably, there is a poignant display of a mounted Huey UH1 helicopter on a pedestal, alongside artillery and a tank.
After a pretty frustrating and fruitless afternoon trying to get tickets to the Christmas on the Falls Yvette next-door, we took our nephew and niece here to play and run and let out some energy. Nice experience at a free playground.

Unplanned stop on a trip, but turned out to be my 10 year old's favorite part! There was a train ride, petting zoo, wildlife, old buildings, and a few trails. The hike to the waterfall from the park was well worth it. We were there for about 3 hours, but could have easily spent a few more there. I would definitely plan to go earlier in the morning and make a day of it next time instead of arriving later to closing.

This is Christmas at NoccalulaFalls. It was absolutely beautiful. We went at 6PM Friday. It cost $10 per person, but completely worth it. The paved paths also made it very wheel chair friendly. It is well organized as far as help with parking and parking was free. You walk right up next to the gift shop they scan your online ticket and you walk right in. There was a long line for the train so we did not ride it. If riding the train is a must I would highly recommend the train express pass. My advice is to wear comfortable walking shoes. We did not stand in line for the train or santa, but still took 2 hours walking the park. One last thing they have animals like Llamas and goats. The had vegetables in a bucket that you or the kiddos can feed the animals right from your hand. We will definitely go back it felt so magical.
Andrea L — Google review
Absolutely beautiful! I didn't know what to expect when I got my tickets and walked through the ticketing building. They have transplanted historic buildings and houses, petting zoo, ice cream pops , drink machines, plenty of restrooms, and a train around a mini "paved town". Then you get to the nature trails and it is absolutely breath taking!! I feel like it was Pretty challenging.. We took the first left, on the suspension bridge route. It takes you all the under the waterfall. I would love to come back and take a different route! 6$ per adult. Free parking. Dogs allowed, just not on the train or at the zoo. Very nice staff!

The Theatre of Gadsden, located in the historic Ritz Theatre building since 1928, has been a hub for live entertainment for over 50 years. Their season runs from March to October with special Christmas shows in December. The Treehouse Theatre Series encourages local youth to audition and participate in performing arts programs. Visitors praise the superb performances, venue, and affordable prices. The talented cast and staff are commended for their friendliness and dedication to creating an exceptional experience for audiences.
St. Clair County Young Republicans bought a row for the night of May 17th to see our friend perform Inherit the Wind, and it was an absolutely fantastic show. Tickets were extremely reasonable, snacks and drinks were cheap, and parking was good!

I didn’t realize that this theater was even open until today. A Christmas Carol was super awesome and the actors and actresses did a very good job playing their role. Unfortunately, the sound was horrible and there was a lot of feedback so parts of the play we didn’t get to hear. The stage was pretty small for some of the scenes but the set up and costumes were made very well. I would go back to watch another play from the Director of a Christmas Carol (as long as the sound is fixed)

Blackstone Pub & Eatery, established in 2002, is a vibrant neighborhood spot that strives to stay ahead of the competition. The menu features inventive pizzas, fresh salads with daily-cut veggies, and unique spins on nachos and quesadillas. Their white cheese dip is a local favorite and pairs perfectly with their selection of drinks. This place is known for offering good food, quality drinks, and great music.
Legit the BEST places to start or end your night from lunch to end of the night. I've been nonchalantly coming here with my children From lunchtime to dinner and the service has always been EXCEPTIONAL regardless of the time. As a gluten free guy their cauliflower pizza is AMAZING and often over ordered lol but that's ok because I keep coming back. I'm not really a "regular" kinda guy but this place deserves THE MOST when it comes to that.

First time visiting and was very impressed! Landon and one other person(didnt catch his name) took extremely good care of us! Service was great and the appetizer, pizza, and quesadilla were all delicious. Will absolutely be back!

The service was good. The place had the typical pub feel/atmosphere. Cocktails were a little off but still drinkable. The food...the pizza. So went with their signature pizza named after the establishment. The cheese was nice and gooey, great favor. The crust was evenly done and seasoned perfectly. And the toppings... although fresh and tasty, where the freak were they? The toppings were so sparse. They did make sure there was at least one of each topping on each slice, one piece of olive, a piece of jalapeño, a piece of banana pepper, one piece of ham and so forth. Maybe we are spoiled, but never had a pizza with so few toppings before. We would go again, but will order double toppings next time.

Very fun, casual atmosphere. Bar dominates the space, but there are plenty of tables. It can get very busy. Last visit was an early dinner, and it appeared one waitress was helping all the tables so a bit of a wait, but she was hustling while multiple staff at the bar. We love the cauliflower pizza, but only comes in a 10 in. Overall, great place to meet friends for pizza.

Twin Bridges Golf Club

Golf club
Twin Bridges Golf Club, situated in Gadsden, Alabama, offers an 18-hole golf course designed by Gene Bates. Spanning 6,800 yards with a par of 72, this course caters to golfers of all levels. The well-maintained Bermuda fairways and bent grass greens provide a picturesque backdrop along the Coosa River. Strategically placed bunkers and TifEagle Bermuda greens add to the challenge and beauty of the course.
This is one of the best courses in Alabama that's friendly play for new golfers. The layout is beautiful with good prices and very friendly staff. I play here twice a year and always look forward to any tournament held here .

I called up there to see if the driving range was open, I was told yes it was. When I got there and asked for the range I was told it was closed. Cars in the parking lot and plenty of carts near the club house. Need to mention spending $145 to re grip my clubs there. I won’t be going back. I’ll take my business to silver lakes.
Jonathan M — Google review
As golf destinations go, Gadsden, AL is well down most golfers’ list; if it weren’t for the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, it probably wouldn’t even be on the radar. And, if the truth be told, the RTJ Trail course at Silver Lakes is what keeps golfers coming back. Another course in the area that is worth at least one visit on your trip is Twin Bridges Golf Club which is owned by the city of Gadsden and, as municipal courses go, it’s quite a pleasant surprise. As you stand on the verandah behind the clubhouse, you can tell that there are some significant elevation changes in-store and as you make your way around, you won’t be disappointed. You’ll also encounter several hidden hazards such as the creek that crosses the fairway in front of the 7th green. It could be a problem if you’re long off the tee. Looking at the scorecard, Twin Bridges gives you 13 different yardages to choose from. One very memorable hole is Number 5, a 521-yard par 5 that is chock full of pitfalls. Standing on the tee box, there seems to be only a small landing area, with a sad trap encroaching on the left side and wetlands on the right. Believe me, there is plenty of room; just carry the trap. Push your drive right and you’ll likely never see it again. Choose your layup stick carefully; you’ll want to hit it short of the wetlands that front the green while at the same time avoiding the bunkers on either side. A single deep bunker guards the front right side of the green. Number 11 is another challenging par 5. There’s a canal all the way down the right side that shouldn’t come into play until your second shot and a good drive will allow you to get home in two. There are pine trees that seemingly stand in the middle of the fairway if you hit your ball down the right side. There’s also a large gap between the pine trees and the woods on the right which can create a clear shot to go for the green in two. The well-undulated green sits elevated above the fairway and may require an extra club. A large bunker guards the front. Par is a good score here. Unfortunately, Twin Bridges doesn’t offer accommodations however the nearby Holiday Inn Express and Suites is a great place for golfers. Not only do they offer freshly appointed rooms and a hot breakfast buffet, but they are also conveniently located to both Twin Bridges Golf Club (15 minutes) and Silver Lakes (20 minutes). Holiday Inn Express goes the extra mile with the little things, like free coffee and tea and Wi-Fi connections in every room and common area. The rooms are spacious with either 1 king or two queen beds that are extremely comfortable 50" TVs, Keurig coffeemakers, and best of all, lots of outlets. The black-out shades are a nice touch and keep the room dark at night.

Why does this golf course get so much money from the city of Gadsden taxpayers? If you live OR WORK in Gadsden you should look into the millions this gets from tax dollars.
Paul V — Google review
The manager Chet went out of his way to make sure everything went well for our large group. We recommend Twin Bridges highly!!!!
Phillip M — Google review
Not sure where to begin. Had the absolute pleasure of playing this course on Saturday, June 3rd. Was greeted by two kind gentleman outside of the pro shop who got me headed in the right direction. Once inside, a nice lady and the head pro checked us in and thanked us for coming out. Being a first-timer at this course, we were given a yardage book and told all about the course and what to expect. The starter even marked some ditches on the scorecard for us because they were hard to see from the fairway. So before we've even teed off the hospitality and kindness from the staff was beyond exceptional. Once we got out on the course, it was clear that the superintendent cares for his work and he has done a fine job with Twin Bridges. We really enjoyed the layout and the condition of the course. I wish it wasn't a three hour drive from Georgia because I'd be back often if I could. Amazing job from top to bottom here, even the food area inside was maintained by a kind and professional gentleman. Sure makes ya feel good when you're welcomed and taken care of like we were. Highly recommend this course to anyone, it is in great condition and isn't tough at all.

Cafe
"The Coffee Bar" is a charming vintage-style coffee shop located in downtown Gadsden. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a delightful place to enjoy great coffee and homemade scones. You can also find delicious treats like divine chocolate croissants. The back area offers comfortable couches, tables, and books for leisurely perusal, making it an ideal spot to relax or study with the free Wi-Fi available.
This place gets 5 stars for me. The staff was very helpful for it being my first time here. I loved the decorations and the green apple smoothie was soo good. My boyfriend got the frozen raspberry lemonade and he loved it.
GamerGirl L — Google review
Probably the best coffee house in Gadsden. At least imo. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They make the best Iced Matcha here too! I've tried most of the others around. Just overall, a great vibe.
Glenda R — Google review
Been going here for years, so I figured I should add a review. We are so lucky to have such a great locally owned coffee shop here in Gadsden. Coffee is always perfect, they have lots of non-coffee options for those lovable weirdos in your life that don't drink coffee, and the food is delicious. Pro tip: the breakfast empanadas are actually available all day. Best afternoon snack in town!

Nice little coffee shop in old downtown gadsden. Cool memorabilia for sale. Good coffee and service. Great place to sit and enjoy a latte.

Really cool coffee shop with great art by local artists

The ladies behind the counter were wonderful, they were so knowledgeable and helpful. I must suggest everyone go by and check them out. Everything about the place is thought-provoking, and memory-inducing, and just cool.

like Brianna, a lovely wise young lady once said, “this place is better than starbucks”. It really is, find you a place to sit and relax & drink your coffee. Support local businesses!
Blake — Google review
Cute place and friendly staff but some seriously rough coffee. Ordered a latte and tasted like coffee that had been sitting in a pot on heat overnight. Unfortunately won't be going back.

Fast food restaurant
Jack's Family Restaurant is a beloved fast-food chain that specializes in classic American fare, including mouthwatering burgers, crispy fries, and delightful milkshakes. With its convenient location and well-maintained facilities, guests can enjoy a clean dining experience. One standout dish is the BLT Fried Chicken Salad, featuring fresh shredded lettuce topped with cheddar cheese, real bacon, sliced tomatoes, and their delicious chicken fingers for an added kick. Pair it with hot crinkle fries for a satisfying meal!
Jacks is the spot for breakfast junk food in Alabama. Consistent and good. Best biscuits and gravy from a chain store you’ll find… but everything is good. Even the service. And being right by the falls, this might be the best jacks in Alabama!
Bone T — Google review
This Jacks has completely went all the way down hill. A little over a year ago, I stopped eating there for a while when I found a roach leg hanging off the cheese of my burger (I had a picture that I sent to management at that time but since then I’ve deleted it or I’d post it). A few months ago, I decided to give them another try. I get restaurant business and I do know that things happen, but it should be taken care of. Since then, I refuse to get ice cream there because they’re holding onto the cones bare handed, I’ve gotten more over cooked (or cooked in old grease) fries than I’ve gotten good ones, and along with some other random issues, this morning I went to get breakfast and get served a burnt biscuit. Why would you EVER serve a customer this and think that it’s gonna be okay? So it’s time to just quit going for good this time. I know being one person, who cares right? But if they treat others like this, what’s being done about it?
Stephanie D — Google review
First time going to Jack's. Will probably be the last. I ordered a large French fries and a sweet tea. The tea was fine. The fries were way to salty. I tossed over three quarters of them in the trash. Just couldn't eat them.
RAY K — Google review
The food was very good. Unfortunately I didn't get all my food. I ordered a 2 piece, breast and leg, and I only got the leg. It was a pick-up order, so I couldn't go back and get it. No time. So just be sure to check your bag.
Brooke F — Google review
Visited this food chain for the first time. The sandwiches are big, the staff is friendly. The only radon I don’t give them a 5 star is because the children in both sandwiches was cold. They are so busy that they a few pieces keep chicken ready to be served. I specifically asked the cashier to make sure our food was fresh.
C N — Google review
Me and my Family came into this jacks after visiting the falls trying to eat and enjoy however when we went in nobody came to greets us or try to help us they wasn’t busy only had one person in the the drive thru and on top of all of that the manager rolled her eyes the heavy set on with a short cut black bob very disappointed and rude ! Never will come back to this place again!!!
Brit B — Google review
Convenient location, clean parking lot and bathroom. Clean dining area and drink station. BLT Fried Chicken Salad this is consistently great in every Jacks that I visit. Nice green shredded, airy lettuce, with cheddar cheese, real bacon, and sliced tomato. The chicken is their chick fingers, which are wonderful by themselves but fantastic on this salad, it give it that extra little spice to round it off. A side of hot crinkle fries and you will have the perfect meal. If you love ranch dressing, it is homemade here so ask for extra.
Sherry R — Google review
I visited the campgrounds with a friend and we wanted to get a bite to eat before bed. They had a long drive home the next day and we just got done packing up, Jack's was the closest, so we decided to go there. We went in 45 minutes before closing time so I gave them a little grace but when I got my order it was pretty pathetically put together, skimpy on the cheese and bacon. The fries were old and cold, the pie was also old. We were asked twice if it was for here or to go but when they brought out the order it was in to go boxes. (We got the hint) As we took our to go boxes to the table and suffered through it, I said I'm not going to complain to the manager because I don't want anything for free. I'll just leave a detailed review. We still were gone within 15 minutes before closing. The picture you see I added some pepper to it. It was a lot more bland.

Thai restaurant
Situated at the impressive Noccalula Falls in a mountain village, Kati Thai is a moderately-sized eatery specializing in Thai cuisine. This family-owned establishment can accommodate up to 55 patrons and although parking is limited, the quality of their food more than compensates for it. Kati's is a well-kept secret, discreetly positioned within a small retail complex across from Noccalula Falls Park.
Fantastic Thai restaurant. I had the drunken fried rice from their Vegan menu with tofu and basil. It was so good! You can pick your own spice level. I got level 3 and it was perfectly spicy for me. You have to try their coconut cake. It's so good and moist.
Mary G — Google review
We were hungry after our trial walk at the noccalula falls park and looked up for a restaurant on Google. We found this Thai place and it was the best choice made. The food was delicious! Staff was kind and friendly which added to a positive experience.
RoSa W — Google review
Really shocked with how good this Thai place is. The flavors were BOLD, the choices and portions were really good, and the prices were great! 💫BE MINDFUL OF HOURS OF OPERATION -Closed Sun/Mon -CLOSES FOR 2 HRS from 2p-430p Tue/Wed/Thu The restaurant is small so just beware if you want to come with a group larger than 6. ‼️GET THE POTSTICKERS!! if you like a little spice and red curry/coconut flavor these were really great. It’s just steamed potstickers but the sauce…wow chefs kiss 💔Only complaint is that the summer rolls are only served after 5pm (why? It’s all fresh ingredients easy to have ready that are part of any other dish) 💔They were out of cabbage for my tofu and vegetable soup. I requested extra of the other veggies in its place but 2 strikes in a row for an appetizer wasn’t amazing

I was looking for something for dinner that was local to the area since I am visiting and happened to be near Kati Thai Cuisine so decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. This is not a large establishment but they use their space well. I enjoyed the atmosphere they created, it was warm and inviting. I asked my server for recommendations on appetizers and she told me her favorite, The basil wraps which I decided to try and they were exquisite. For dinner I ordered the garlic and black pepper chicken and it was very good as well. The staff came around a refill drinks and a check on the meal and was overall very courteous and professional. I really enjoyed my stop here and will have to come back next time I am in the area.

We recently were in town visiting our family nearby, and this place came up in our discussion of good places we should try. We were really, really impressed with Kati Thai as soon as we came in the door. The atmosphere and decor was nice and the waitress was very pleasant as well. We got a dinner portion, Pad Thai, and a lunch special chicken fried rice. Both were priced reasonably and tasted delicious. We were really happy that we came here!! Can't wait to come back in the future.
Kevin M — Google review
Ordered sweet rice with egg custard (asked for no egg custard). For $6.35, I got… a tiny lump of sticky rice that could fit in the palm of my hand. If you enjoy paying full meal price for something that feels like a complimentary bite at a tasting event, this is the place for you. Otherwise, be prepared: Kati Thai’s “to-go” now means less food, more bill.
Chelsea S — Google review
The food here is absolutely delicious; it is fresh, balanced, and full of flavor. I’ve tried a lot of Thai places, and this is hands down the best across several counties. Everything tastes homemade and perfectly done every time.
Beth S — Google review
This gem of a family-owned restaurant is very near the entrance to Noccalula Falls - a great place for supper after a hike. I was there late on a Sunday evening, and was seated immediately. The decor subtly generates an atmosphere of Thailand's culture and traditions. The menu has a good selection of traditional Thai dishes and - surprisingly - a vegan section, something I have rarely seen. Although tempted by many items, I decided on classic Pad Thai with tofu with jasmine tea. Both arrived soon and we're delicious. This is a restaurant I hope to visit again.

Barbecue restaurant
Merrill's BBQ is a delightful stop for anyone on a road trip, especially if you're passing through Jacksonville, Florida. Despite the long wait time of 2.5 hours, the vibrant atmosphere and attentive service make it worth your while. The rib plate comes with three sides—baked beans that are simply awesome, slaw that's refreshing, and cornbread that hits the spot.
Quaint little restaurant. Kind of out of the way but very popular. We haven’t found anything on the menu that wasn’t excellent. Stuffed baked potatoes, BBQ, chicken fingers. The BBQ salad is a great choice. My favorite is the cheese burger and fries. I’m a picky eater and I have tried e dry item listed above and would recommend every one. The staff is always friendly and the service is exceptional.
Sherry R — Google review
The food was delicious! Our favorite thing was the roast beef sandwich, better than Arby's. The BBQ pork was very tender, and the sauce was perfect. The hamburgers were good, traditional, and tasty. I wouldn't say they were the best hamburgers we've ever had, but they were good. The onion rings were amazing, but I was hoping we would have gotten more of them. It's definitely worth a try, and we will be back.
Lydia S — Google review
We love trying local, hole in the wall restaurants, and we weren't disappointed! The pork was delicious, and so was the cornbread. Our favorite was the tangy BBQ sauce. The staff were very friendly!
Taylor N — Google review
The store is awesome looking and service was great, we selected this place while traveling on our spring break road trip from Jacksonville Florida, and it was a 2.5 hour wait. I got the rib plate 3 sides baked beams awesome , slaw great , corn bread good. All 3 sauces was good. Fried potatoes good , corn on cob ok, Ribs wasn’t that good to me, they was cooked in the oven not on a smoker or bbq grill and texture was tough and chewy. My wife had bbq sandwich she enjoyed it with pickles and slaw. I love trying ribs all over the south and in Florida it’s a big standard to BBQ ribs. I’d not recommend the ribs at all here. Sweat tea was also Great. Prices are good also.
Kenny O — Google review
Having my order taken was no hassle, neither was waiting the 20 minutes inside their screened in eating area with enough body odor to choke out a city dump employee. No, but what was was the fact that after having to wait 20 minutes for my order, and driving back to my house, just to sit down and attempt to eat fries that taste like they were cooked in grease that hasn't been properly filtered or changed since June, and my burger that I asked for extra pickles with was in pieces with extra onion (because that's what extra pickles translates to) and the patty had been barley pressed flat. It was literally a clump of meat on a bun. For the past couple of seasons their quality has dramatically dropped, and with this type of service it's going to keep dropping. I'd rather drive all the way to Glencoe and eat at the Big Chief (which is actually what I should've done) where service and quality match per stride, and my money goes further.
Lee L — Google review
Food is expensive , nasty and don't even smell like barbecue. My barbecue was full of fat and chewy and what topped it all off was I found a hair in the sandwich.I took 1 bite of a almost 8 dollar sandwich. I also waited 35 min for a small barbecue in drive with only 2 cars in front of me. I would have left but they charge you at the first window. They need to be closed down.
Kristi C — Google review
I called today to ask about this place because I've never been there before. I was told to hold on the telephone three times and I waited. I called the fourth time and as soon as the lady answered, I immediately responded that I had already waited three times and this was the fourth time the lady had answered the phone. Either take the phone off the hook or take time to answer a simple question. I asked the lady if they serve outside sliced bbq and she said "I've never heard of it ". WTH

found this place using my waze app , went to another place and waited for someone to ask me for my drink order and take my order , and it only had a couple folks already eating. nothing. after about 10-15 minutes I left , looking for another place. saw merrill's on the list , and glad I did . unfortunately they were out of ribs but a local customer said they had great hamburgers. so I tried one and he was correct. not saying it was the best , but was really close. Will stop again when I'm in the area and looking forward to trying their ribs 😋
