Review: Highly Disappointing Stay at French Lick Cabins/Hotel (1/5 Stars) Stay Date: 10/2025 Our stay at French Lick Cabins was unfortunately defined by a significant lack of maintenance and a failure to provide even the most basic necessities. Overall, the experience was extremely poor, and we would strongly caution future guests to consider other options. The rooms are in poor condition, and the facilities are severely outdated. It was clear that neither general upkeep nor modernization has been prioritized in a very long time. Everything from the furnishings to the fixtures felt old, worn, and neglected, giving the entire stay a very low-quality feel. Compounding the issues with the cabin's condition was the absence of crucial basic amenities. We were not provided with simple necessities like shampoo, which is standard in virtually all paid lodging. Furthermore, despite the unit including a coffee machine, there was absolutely no coffee, or accompanying supplies provided. This seemingly small oversight was incredibly frustrating and highlighted a general lack of preparation and care for guest experience. For the price we paid, the quality and preparation of the cabin were unacceptable. We left feeling deeply disappointed by the poor condition of the property and the failure to cover the fundamental needs of a hotel.

First, about the location: it depends on where you're going. The handicapped rooms are 400 yards away, and there's a series of long ramps. The room is bigger than some rooms my wife and I have stayed in. The general appearance is good. They are in the process of restoration/repairs and are updating to better standards. The price is reasonable.

The lighting in the hotel is very dim. Hard to apply my makeup in the bathroom. 1 bed in the room & was rather small. Christmas decorations around the hotel were beautiful. Casino was a fun spot.

I had not been there for two years, and it was fine then, but it's cleaner, better maintained, and better stocked than I've seen it in years. My only complaint is the hair dryer didn't work. Had I addressed this, they would have dealt with it. They bedding is so comfortable, and the room was so clean.

A Beautiful and Historic Hotel, But Service Falls Short French Lick Springs Hotel is undeniably one of the most beautiful properties in Indiana. The grounds are well maintained, the hotel has a classic and timeless feel, and the overall atmosphere is elegant from the moment you walk in. Pros 1. Beautiful, historic ambiance. The hotel is exceptionally well kept and has a classy, upscale feel. Walking through the lobby and hallways truly feels like stepping back in time. 2. Comfortable, fresh rooms. The rooms have a classic charm while still feeling fresh and clean. The linens are always pressed and spotless, and overall the rooms provide a cozy atmosphere. 3. Excellent dining at 1875. The 1875 restaurant consistently delivers high-quality food with exceptional service. It’s one of the highlights of staying at this hotel. 4. Casino onsite. The casino is a great bonus if you want a little entertainment during your stay. Cons 1. Major reservation issue with no effort to make it right. I booked a room by phone 11 months in advance, but when I called to confirm the week of my trip, I learned the reservation had been entered for the exact date I booked it, 11 months earlier. Management confirmed that I never checked in on that incorrect date, yet I was still charged. When I tried rebooking the same room for my actual arrival date, I was told it was unavailable. The only option was an expensive upgrade, one I had to pay for despite the mistake being entirely on their end. I also needed two beds, but the only room option was a king suite with a pull-out couch, and I was told I could pay an additional $20 for a roll-away. So on top of the upgrade cost, I would be paying even more just to have the proper sleeping arrangements for my family. There was zero effort to correct the hotel’s mistake or offer a courtesy accommodation. For a hospitality business, this was incredibly disappointing. 2. Repeatedly unanswered calls from the room. During our stay, no one answered any of the lines from our room, not room service, not housekeeping, and not even the front desk. After several attempts, I ended up walking all the way to the front desk myself, only to find multiple staff members standing there with no guests in line. Traveling with two young children who needed rest before The Polar Express train ride, this was both inconvenient and frustrating. Instead of relaxing in our room, we had to walk the hotel to track down basic services. Room Quality: 3.5/5 While the rooms are charming and the linens impeccably clean, our toilet was leaking water and left a puddle on the floor every time it was used. That issue definitely impacted the comfort of the stay. Service: 3/5 Restaurant service is excellent, but the hotel’s service, reservations, front desk responsiveness, and in-room support, falls significantly below expectations for a property of this caliber. Location & Atmosphere: 5/5 French Lick itself is a gem, quiet, scenic, and filled with things to do. The hotel is stunning inside and out, one of the most iconic properties in the area. The history and architecture make it a memorable place to visit. Overall French Lick Springs Hotel is a beautiful, historic destination with wonderful dining and a charming atmosphere. However, the service and handling of mistakes need to rise to the same level of quality as the hotel itself. With improved hospitality and better customer care, it could easily be a five-star experience. At the end of the day, you can have a hotel that looks five-star, but if the hospitality doesn’t match the hotel’s caliber, it will never deliver a true five-star experience.

Best Place Ever to stay. Three pools available weather permitting, hot tub, wonderful shops, golf course, casino, bowling alley, game room, great food, amazing staff and the Great outdoors is very peaceful. Great place to stay. My favorite place to stay in Indiana. Duck Catcher Machine is located in Pluto's Alley.

Food great, rooms great, hot tub pool everything is good. Casino is hot trash. Maybe because im used to terre haute and its a new casino. They have a lot of out dated games, lots of slots that dont work properly as far as sound and buttons. If im gonna lose money I at least would like machines that work properly. Besides the casino its awesome

The Breaded Pork Tenderloin and Onion right were absolutely delicious! The service was outstanding! 😀

The pimento BLT was fantastic, the fiesta salad not so much. The burgers looked tasty too. The service is below average. Never got water refills. Took forever to even be waited on to begin with. They only have two servers working which is not enough for a full dining room. This has been the trend across their restaurants. For a 4 star resort you really would expect the service to be better. Disappointing to say the least.

My family loved it. Very cozy restaurant and super friendly server named Pearl made our visit very pleasant! The food was good too.

This is a great dining option found inside the French Lick Springs Resort Hotel on the lower level. They have a great Indiana breaded tenderloin among many other great options. The servers here are very accommodating and are quick to serve and refill drinks. The restaurant is very clean and the food is delicious.

Very average bar food. Went for the decor but even that wasn't really good (save for one wall with the old electrical switches on it). No reason to go out of your way to eat here but it's fine for a no-frills lunch.

Had dinner here couple of days back while we stayed in French Lick Resort . Tried Chicken strips with fries & grilled cheese sandwich with onion rings . Onion rings tasted sooo good , sandwich wasn’t that tasty . Strips & fries seemed good too. This place is kinda pricey considering the amount of foods. Then again they are cheaper than most of the restaurants situated in the resort . They are open till 10 PM, that’s a plus .

Gluten free rejoice! Their gf burger bun was amazing!! Service was ok, took a long time to be served, however we did get refills unlike other reviewers. Also appreciated the menu identifying options for vegan and gf.

This restaurant is very impressive. My partner and I went out for dinner there and we ordered the following; Two Cocktails, shrimp cocktail, Hawaiian shrimp, and fried grouper. Then we ordered salted caramel cheesecake and to go Philly salmon roll. We left a $30 tip on a $92 bill because the food and the service absolutely are outstanding. Our server was a lovely woman named Erica and she took a nice picture of my date and I. I complemented the food. She told the chef and we were lucky enough to meet him. Lovely lovely place. I must point out. We went on a Saturday night and when I believe is the off-season so it was not exceedingly busy.

Best fried calamari I have ever had, even better than the ones I've had from the coast. Try it out if you like surf and turf

We stopped by for lunch on our way home from Wilstem. We were seated right away. The staff was very friendly as was the owner. I didn't see any traditional Hawaiian food on the menu. However, the food we ordered was delicious. I had one of the specialty drinks and it was also very good. The owner approached us to ask how everything was and was very friendly. We will visit again

Been here twice in 2025 and some things are great, others are ok... Service been off and on but overall the food gives this place the deserved 4 stars... Sushi and sashimi we've been happy with

Ventured out today and ended up in French Lick about 1.5 hours from home. We decided to Ohana it and the resturant didn't knock it out of the park but wasn't on the bench either. Service- zero complaints order was taken, read back to us to make sure it was correct and our glasses never got empty. The food was good but lacking the spice and flavor that I'm normally used to. All in all a good jight with family and friends. I wouldn't put them last on my list but will be trying other resturants in the area

i ordered hibachi chicken fried rice. the chicken was good but it was not what i’d have expected from hibachi chicken fried rice. the vegetables were just steamed veggies, the rice was not the right texture, and the chicken had no sauce. i didn’t taste teriyaki or yum yum sauce on any of it. the chicken was all i ate and for the price i was disappointed. the cheese curds were really good tho. the waitress was nice and was good at her job.

Excellent waiter, really good food, place can be loud. Recommended place for a good meal. Food was served hot and fresh. Lots of sports memorabilia to gawk over.

Our experience this trip was not as anyone would hope or expect. First suggestion - do not place an order over the phone, 2nd ask for a server when placing order. DO NOT ATTEMPT WITH A HOSTESS. We placed our order at 6:50, told to pickup in 15 minutes. When my husband arrived on time, the hostess was not making any sense. My husband came and waved me in to try and make sense of what she was saying. As I listened her speech wasn’t even clear, more muffled than anything. I looked at her and said you are going to need to explain what the problem is. She turned around and just walked away. My husband said they don’t have one of the items we ordered. We had to figure it out ourselves as to what item/s were missing. At least 5 minutes pass and a different person came to help who was helpful. In the end we needed to add a menu item, wait additional 10 minutes. Pay for our food with a $10 off an $85 appx tab. Get back to our Villa which is across the street to eat cold food. Big disappointment this trip, hopefully the restaurant can work a bit harder on properly training their hostess and work on customer care, hell we would have paid more for hot food and better communication.

Super sweet hostess, smiles all the way around. Service was a bit slow, super nice though and but I think she had tables in a different section of the restaurant. If we come back that way again absolutely would come back.

Another good meal at 33, super busy night in the valley we had called ahead and Alisha got us in. They were packed but our waiters did a fantastic job and the kitchen staff kept up good as our food was brought out fairly quickly for as busy as they were. My fish and onion rings were awesome, Philly chips good, son’s chicken stripes were very good. Others food looked good as well. We had twelve people and everyone enjoyed the food. It had been a little while since we had been here but will return soon.

Great atmosphere, friendly service, broad menu selections, and delicious food. Came for lunch on a Saturday during Block Bash. We were seated right away, and were well taken care of during our visit. Lots of cool memorabilia collected by Larry Bird, spanning multiple professional sports. Very inviting space. Food was some of the best quality I've ever had at a sports bar. Will definitely come back if we are in the area.

The food is amazing. It was such a great value for what we paid. We all went home with boxes because it was so much and delicious. The service was great. You can tell the service like their jobs. Atmosphere was spot on! Music was great.

The food was fairly reasonable. The cajun chicken pasta lacked Cajun flavors but was still good. The part that got us was the absolutely terrible service. We were seated immediately and drinks were brought to the table fairly quickly. That said, we ordered our food and waited a little longer than expected but not too bad. Our son was very thirsty so he finished his lemonade by the time our food came out. The expediter brought our food out and we still had not received silverware, I politely asked him for some, he acknowledged the request, and then he went back into kitchen and got more food for another table and never came back to us. After about 5 minutes my wife was able to find one set on her own so we could start eating some of our food. Halfway through eating and sharing a single set of silverware and one napkin the server finally returned and we had to ask again for silverware and refills on our empty drinks. We finally got all the silverware and the server left with my son's cup to refill. She never returned, and in fact went on a 10 minute smoke break (I only know this to be true because it was all I could smell when she returned). She then realized that she never returned with my son's drink, but by that time we were done eating. In the end my son never ate his food because he was thirsty and had a grilled cheese sandwich that he knew he needed a drink for. We had just done the Polar Express and had a great time on that but this experience really sucked the joy out of the evening for us and our son. I would personally avoid this place, particularly if you are looking for somewhere to eat after the polar express.

Well we went back for dinner and I'm sorry to say that this trip was a mistake. Service- Terrible Food- Bacon uncooked, eggs under-cooked, no refills on coffee, burnt toast, 55 minutes to get order, pancakes were cold, the waiter complained about being tired and having to work another shift.. Need I go on? Oh and it wasn't busy at all. It's not like they had a house full. This place seems to go up and down. You take your chances when you eat here. Cleanliness- Bad Not recommended at this time. Get the restaurant in order and I'll change my review.

The server was good. She was the only person doing anything except the cook. She had to do everything on the floor. She was very pleasant and nice. She was greeting when she could and taking orders. And trying to clean the tables when she had a chance, since no one was there to help her. The manager was rude. He was very unpleasant. Kept walking outside. He needs to learn how to wear his pants. They were falling off him. It was gross to see that of any employee anywhere especially with food. As we were leaving the manager had closed the store early. He put a sign up after 11pm and they close at 2am. Saying closed for maintenance in his own handwriting. Which was not the case after a conversation with the server. He doesnt know how to run a business except in the ground. With him there id be surprised if they keep the doors open. In the pictures hes the one in the jeans that are about to fall off.

The food was okay, place could use some cleaning and service could be better.

My favorite Dennys ever. Not perfect in little things sometimes (slow if busy or table might need a second wipe down) but great servers and a fantastic cook. It's good enough to be with an hour-long drive. We have made a tradition of driving down annually at midnight on my birthday to get the free Grand Slam, but we order plenty more, too.

Horrible manager. Didn't think of my disabled mother and made us walk closer to the back instead of closer to the door with a booth. Waited almost 10 minutes just to be seated and they aren't even that busy. Her walker would have sat better in a booth and more room for her to walk there. Still waited almost 20 mins just to be asked what we wanted to drink. Absolute worst time I've had here. The staff in the front need to be trained correctly. Had to put her walker all the way over there just to have it out of the way since we didn't have a place to set it at the table and wouldn't be an issue to others around us.

Table was clean. Food was good, service was friendly. Price was fair.

Was a little disappointed in my portion. I usually get more of the chicken and potato skillet. Other then that all was good.

German Café and Restaurant in French Lick, Indiana is a quaint, family-owned restaurant with great food and a friendly staff. The giant pretzel was the best I’ve ever had. The goulash witha rich paprika sauce and spätzle with polish sausage were excellent. The sauerkraut was delicious as were the slaw, and red cabbage. Great little café, worth the drive! #hoosierfoodiedaddy

We actually found this restaurant on accident, and oh boy how glad am I we did! We had a wonderful time, and had some of the best sausage and schnitzel I’ve ever had here! A cozy atmosphere brings life to a great meal. Can’t wait to return!

Wonderful experience. Come with an open mind and the ability to try new things. Everything was seasoned so well that you didnt need salt and pepper or ketchup! Very good! Waitress was the best!!

Went tonight with my wife. We ordered Grosse Platte, receiving almost every item on the menu. Portions were great and food was excellent. When we arrived 90 minutes before closing, the restaurant was very slow. While we were there, a group of 16 came in, along with several smaller groups. The ONE server handled everyone incredibly... we never felt neglected, and she was literally RUNNING through the restaurant taking great care of everyone. The only complaint was that the restroom area needed to be cleaned and the area repaired.

The pretzel sticks and beer cheese are an ABSOLUTE must-try! I should have snapped a pic of the menu to share the actual German names- but I spaced it. My husband had the beef in paprika sauce with a side of noodles. I loved the sauce- it had a real depth of flavor. I ordered the Tenderloin with mushroom gravy and our amazing server suggested I have 1/2 & 1/2 on the sides (since I was so indecisive 😂)- so I chose the noodles and German potatoes. I absolutely LOVED the potatoes!!! Perfectly seasoned, with a slight crunch on the outside, but soft, and pillowy on the inside. The Tenderloin was the best I've ever had. It is lightly breaded, but still has some crunch and I got that salt flavor that comes with deep fried versions. I will probably try a different sauce next time...it was ok (I appreciated the quality of the mushrooms). I think it just had to do with personal preference - it had a wonderful consistency and depth of flavor.

My wife and I enjoyed the unique atmosphere inside. The food was really good. I recommend the fried Spaetzle with polish sausage.

What a lovely find! We had a friend in from St. Louis to visit over the weekend. We took him to several places within an hour's drive of our home. While in French Lick walking around we got hungry and stepped in for a meal. Now I thought to myself, with such reasonable pricing, the serving sizes must be small. Boy was I wrong! I thought I ordered a small salad. It was huge with all kinds of vegetables cooked and uncooked. Jim's order was huge! And it was so good he ate every bite!

This is our second time trying this Chicago pizza this first time we got the supreme and it was great, the second time just the meat style, they were both good but the second one was on the dryer side! If you like sauce I would ask for extra! I liked the supreme better!

We stayed in West Baden during Christmas and made two different trips back and forth for their pizza! It was so good! I cant rave enough about Debra taking such good care of us, we had the place to ourselves for bowling for quite a bit and she made sure to make us feel so welcome! One of the highlights of the trip!

Not awesome, not awful. Kinda on the pricey side, but it's attached to the resort so it's to be expected. If there's a recommendation to be made it's the calzones, but the pizzas are decent too (don't waste your money on the breadsticks). We stopped to feed our hungry kids while they plunk down quarters in the adjacent arcade and it was a good choice 👍

The pizza was delicious & even though they were super busy & overwhelmed they were friendly & helpful. The atmosphere was nothing bc of them just a lot of kids & very loud.

Now this was a very good pie Pluto's near the bowling alley in the French Lick hotel. It had a very good sauce a little zesty good Italian flavor. The dough was fantastic just a little chewy the lady could have let it in the oven a little bit longer but it's a good cheese it wasn't greasy. Definitely a New York style pizza.

it's great we love going down there playing on arcade and also doing a bowling plus a pizzeria has awesome pizza and strombolis they're so good you got to try them!

Everytime I come here they have no idea if any 'allergins' such as egg are in the dough. Should be listed. Its a no Brainer to have it on the menu so people can be careful.

I’ve been coming to French lick for 35 years. It is an absolute, fantastic getaway, beautiful scenery, beautiful buildings, beautiful gardens. The pools are phenomenal. The service is great.

Walk up to French Lick and step back in time. Walk in to the Casino and enjoy the glamour of Vegas without the overcrowded smut. Enjoy a round of golf and take the Trolly to West Baden Springs Hotel. It’s a great time for the whole family

Not sure when French Lick was built but when driving up it's a beautiful building and very welcoming... Walk up the steps and a large what seems wrap around deck with plenty of seating then into the hotel entrance and just high end, old school but elegant and stunning as you walk to the check in desk, staff throughout the hotel and casino are great!!! Rooms are small but very cool with the age and very clean property overall, seems with the rooms all of the out dated and old school showers to sinks and furniture just really works with the hotel vibe... Long hallways to get to your rooms and the elevators go to certain areas and not others so pay attention lol... Great indoor pool with a dolphin statue water spout and walk just outside to a good sized in ground hot tub that's not too hot but right around 100° I would say and gets the job done... Walk to the far end and down the stairs into the casino entrance; small casino but slots, blackjack and other table games, drinks don't come around too often and it's not Vegas so they aren't free lol

Well it is a nice place to visit, it is far away from most large city and Interstate highways.

The Hotel is Spectacular! The long rich history is amazing. It's like going back in time. BUT, the present Amenities we have all become accustomed to. We went to the Shaggy Concert while staying at Hotel. It was so AWESOME!!! There was a golf tournament going on the same weekend but there never seemed to be a bunched-up crowd. The property is so vass. I most definitely recommend visiting!!

This is the worst paying casino in Indiana…and none of them are great. Do not waste your money they do not pay out. Not only are the rooms at the resort outrageous, the casino is so tight that you will absolutely not win anything. Horrible casino. We will never go back. On a positive note, we love the grounds though. The property is beautiful and the town is a gem in time.

Great place to have company convention. Great outdoors activities. very small casino. Food is priced for a resort as any. Service is wonderful. I only had 1 thing I was concerned about. And that was the mold build-up in the shower that was behind the clear caulking.

Best breakfast in the area! Most breakfasts like this you would expect to pay about 30 bucks ahead. Kids are free - adults $21 THE FOOD!!! The omelet bar is the best! The waffle bar is amazing!! Everything is fresh!! We always hit the Colonnade at least once when visiting, it is a must!!!

High-quality and tasty breakfast items and worth the price. I would recommend the breakfast buffet given the variety of tasty items. I would have given 5 stars if there was actually some table service or a way to get self-service coffee. Staff seemed to be there primarily for cleaning tables. We waited some time after eating and had to approach the staff to get coffee. Features Omelet Station (Custom Made) Hot Breakfast Bar Eggs (cheese on the side to add if desired) Sausage Bacon Biscuits and Gravy Hash Brown Casserole Oatmeal and Grits Yogurt Bar (including vanilla, greek) Fruit Bar (including fresh black berries, strawberries, cantelope, watermelon, peaches, etc) Breads (Bagels, muffins, etc) Cereal More Self-service fountain drinks, juices, etc. We had to ask someone for coffee service Note to Management: Please don't ask for tip if there isn't going to be any table service during the buffet.

Very good buffet. Just about everything you'd want. Eggs, omelets, fruit, bacon, sausage, yogurt. All tasty. My favorite was the biscuits and gravy. The coffee is absolutely horrible though! Really wretched. Please do something about the coffee.

Google says "open Sunday till1 pm". Showed up at 11:02 am. Refused service. Very disappointed.

We went just to walk around and get the tours and history of French Lick and West Baden. Gorgeous and so interesting!

Ate dinner here the day before Christmas Eve. Located in the Casino building (hang a left before you would enter the Casino proper), the setting was casual as expected (for example, cocktails served in a plastic cup). The Fillet Mignon was cooked to perfection (their steaks are sourced from the same as the highly lauded 1875 restaurant in the French Lick Hotel) and the bread pudding was delicious. Our waitress was friendly, and while a bit pricey, it was an overall good experience.

Quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever had. Most of the food came out cold and the catfish was slightly undercooked. Service was abysmal as well. We had to ask multiple times over a span of 25 minutes for our drink to be brought out, and we never received the ranch we asked for either. Our waitress avoided us most of the time until it was time to pay and never asked how our food was despite the majority of it being left on our plates. Save your money and go elsewhere

Ordered a manhattan… came out as watered down bourbon with cherry juice. No vermouth included.…. And still charged $26 for a bad drink. Food was decent but overpriced for what you get. Would not go back

Waitresses and waiter arguing on who was gunna wait tables Waitresses hid in the corner. Made it hard to get refills or check on our food. Spent 200 dollars on 2 steaks an appetizer ( which came out minutes before main coarse ) very bland food. Very disappointed. Staff acted like customers were an inconvenience and didnt want to be there.

Very good bar food, large big space to watch games 🖥. The pretzels with beer cheese was the best we've had. The crab 🦀 cake sand with was tasty as well. The onions rings were.👍 We would definitely come back here when staying @ the resort.

Visiting area on our motorcycles. Decide to stop to see beautiful hotel. Stopped to get a bite to eat and a cocktail in the Valley Bar and Grill the bartender Angee was RUDE, RUDE RUDE!! My pretzel sticks were burnt on bottom when she was asked about it, she got attitude and said I do not see the bottom. Will not be back

Horrible service. 4 out of 6 dinners were horrible. Fish was dry and difficult to eat. Chicken finger dinner..for 22.00 you get 4 " fingers" that were nothing but crust! I wouldn't suggest!!!!!

We came for the Polar Express ride. Our kids had a lot of fun which is all that matters. But from a review perspective it was lack luster. Half the dancers were very young kids, which is fine but they seemed super tired. It was too bright on the train so looking out the window it was just pitch black. Zero Christmas lights on houses during this time of year. Even the house with Santa at the end was very blandly lit up. The hot cocoa was half filled. Cookies were tasty though.

This was our family's first time riding a train. We all enjoyed ourselves. The staff was friendly. There were plenty of comfortable seats to choose from. I recommend sitting on the upper level if you are in the double decker box car because the view was much better. Refreshments were available for a reasonable price. The train is air conditioned, and even on a day with a heat index over 100°f we were all comfortable. Overall this was a fun experience for all ages!

Came for Polar Express with family. Nice experience! The parking exit/enter process should be reviewed for better efficiency!

First time on the Polar Express, the train car was nice inside and we were on the top deck. Plenty of parking, very well organized and the staff did an outstanding job. It’s great for little kids and for those who love the movie. During the total train ride the staff keeps things moving and entertaining from the conductors punching your large golden ticket, dancing waiters, singing and dancing elves which perform up the aisles as the train moves along. Cookies, hot chocolate, a visit from Santa as he boards the train at the “North Pole” and a special gift from Santa so every one can hear the bell ringing. Was a fun night, good job to all the staff and a shoutout to Bostyn Rowlett for over seeing the production.

We enjoyed the scenic train ride on a hot, sunny afternoon. It was fun to learn history about the area and talk with the conductor. The first class tickets were worthwhile but definitely not accessible if that's something you need. Only took a star off because it was a lot less scenic than expected based on the description. We would definitely go again on one of their tasting train rides.

Brought my girls to the Polar Express, it was the very best experience!! The workers did a phenomenal job of staying in character and made it so much fun for the kids. My 8 year old was a little disappointed Santa didn't ask her what she wanted, but I explained to her that his elves asked the kids what they wanted to help him out, because there were so many kids there, and she totally understood. We will be back next year!!

My family went twice on the polar express. The first time was awesome, we were so excited to go again. We went in 2024 and it was awful. The train broke down for almost 2 hours and the weather was not cool yet, so the train was HOT!! I had a newborn and 2 other kids, one of them being 8 & questioning everything about Santa after this experience. There were screaming toddlers, and they didn’t offer cups of water until the train was up and moving again. The power went out, so there was no music, the elves tried their best to sing but it just wasn’t the same. When we arrived to the North Pole, it was not magical, no lights, no snow. The year before I got teary eyed bc of how amazing it was. We spoke with a representative before leaving and they instructed us to email the customer support bc their manager was so busy with the breakdowns. I emailed them twice about my experience with no response. We will not ever be attending this experience again & im sure I speak for everyone on that train, that night. There were no apologies, no compensations. 2 hour drive for disappointment. So please be aware. Unfortunately, that night ruined the Christmas magic for my oldest. She no longer believes.

Nice enjoyable diversion, except the A/C in the railway cars were set much too cold. It was a point of issue for many on the excursion.

Great fun experience for all ages. I recommend visiting during the holiday period when they are offering the Polar Express experience with Christmas theme and actors portraying characters from the book and movie. Lots of fun for everyone.

While they did offer a voucher, they were never able to fully explain why they needed to keep my money when we didn't go. Voucher? Nope. No reason to ever stop off here again with the way they treat paying customers. Whatever you do, DO NOT pay in advance! You'll never see those funds again.

Great train ride........and history of French Lick

This is not a museum. Mostly a small collection of rustic rail equipment. The people inside the depot were only interested in selling me tickets for the theme train. The hotel doorman was much more helpful with information on the history of the train cars. Update: We did the theme train. Not a huge fan, but the kids liked it. Tickets were pricey and the train cars needed some maintenance. I have changed my review to 3stars based mostly on the cute little trolley. Very fun and will take you between hotels.

Nice worker. However, the outdoor course was very ran down including many holes in the carpet and huge black nasty places in the green. Course layout is good if they were to install new carpets.

Honestly, a little over priced for how terrible the outdoor course is. The outdoor course is ROUGH and could use a very much needed face lift. Half of our shots were messed up because of uneven carpet, torn up carpet or lots of debris on the course. Would definitely recommend finding something else family friendly in French Lick rather than this place.

Outdoor area is terrible i dont need black crusty greens. Or squares cut out of the greens. Also dont need the guy working to stare at my wife's butt while she walks to the restroom.

These folks were so kind to my special needs classroom!! They were very accommodating and friendly. We played indoor cosmic putt-putt, but we definitely noticed how beautiful the outdoor course was, too. Amy Brown and the employee that took care of us are good and kind people!! They want to support all people in their community, and we appreciate it! ❤️ We had a blast!

My family had a great time! Beautiful scenery in the cosmic golf and fun atmosphere in the laser tag! Very affordable! We even got a discount for staying at Big Splash Adventure!

Our experience was amazing. Ryan was great and very informative about the town and shotz. He made me and my husbands experience lovely and I will be back.

We had a great time as a group completing the hardest room! Easy to book and worked out well for a large group of us.

We had never played an escape room before and decided to be brave and do the hardest one. It was a blast, there were 5 of us, and the room was very difficult. We used all of our clues and really got into the game. Although personally we didn't escape, we did after 3 more minutes after the end. Highly recommend this place. The staff are very informative and leave you with just the right amount of information you need to start the escape room. Super fun! We will definitely be back to to do the others! Had a great time!

I had other plans with my children and other kids, but those plans fell through. Thankfully, the staff at Escape was able to fit us in for the Where's Harry (I may be of on the name). We had a lot of fun and the ladies that were working were wonderful. I feel bad about us leaving the clues when we were done, I'm not sure what we were meant to do with them. I will say, I thought the price was steep at first, but I would say it is justified. Especially with everything involved and the mess you leave (if you were like me). I absolutely recommend a visit here, I'd definitely come back.

We had a great experience in the Harry room! Going as a family we wanted to make sure everyone of all ages had a great time, and escape French lick delivered! Thank you to the staff for a wonderful experience!

Has 3 pretty enjoyable rooms to choose from. Personal opinion - Would be a little more exciting If they had multi-room challenges. (Room that eventually opens up into other rooms filled with clues) but all-in-all was a good time and fairly challenging.

Just finished, very challenging and thorough. Lady running was very kind and attentive. For our first time, it felt like they definitely helped you understand what was needed to be done. Definitely recommend.

The Al Capone room was excellent. We had a multigenerational team and there was something for everyone to do. A very fun experience that builds on itself and ends with a 7 year-old wielding a tommygun. This was the highlight of my trip.

Absolutely loved this spot! The milkshake was a perfect 10/10—creamy, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to cool off during the summer. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the whole place was spotless. The location is great, connected to several nice stores, making it a perfect stop during a shopping trip. Parking was a breeze too. I’ll definitely be back!

The food was fantastic but God forbid you have to ask the staff a question. One of the younger gals was super sweet but the tall older blond woman is rude. I asked a simple question about a smoothie I ordered and was told “I don’t have enough hands to carry it all. It’s coming.” Without tourist, your business wouldn’t be there.🤷🏻‍♀️

Very cool little place. Took me about 5 or 6 minutes to find an employee to take my order, though, once I did and got the food, 100% worth it. I got a Buffalo chicken pizza and it was stupendous. Very cheesy with good Buffalo taste.

Very happy with our visit! They have gluten free crusts for the pizzas, $11 for a 10" pizza with any toppings. They also have a sorbet on the ice cream side. Beer, coffee, old school sodas, etc. Everything was great. Just freezing cold inside so we ate outside.

We’ve been going here for pizza and ice cream since they started selling pizza. We’ve absolutely loved it…. Until recently. On three different occasions now, we’ve went and not been greeted when we come in and it seems like we are an inconvenience. I can tell from past reviews, the owner is going to defend their employees behavior. We typically don’t have any issues with the younger girls. They are always very nice, however the older dark haired employees isn’t friendly & makes it seem like we aren’t supposed to be there. At this point, I’m not sure if we’ll continue coming in. It’s been a very uncomfortable feeling the last few times we’ve been in.

You know want really grinds my gears? So I ordered a Cold cut combo with just lettuce, mayonnaise, and pickles, not only did they give me little of what I wanted, but they also added extra tomato and Onion. Not cool and disgusting.

Last evening, 3/15/25 The special of the day was hanging on a poster in the restaurant. I asked for the special of the day, and the Indian Lady, said No, and shook her head!!!! I was hungry, and the only place open and she knew that. I ordered the same chicken sandwich offered on the poster and she charged me full price. They do not recognize or take any Subway Coupons, nor honor a Special of the day hanging up in the restaurant. They may own the franchise, but giving Subway a bad name. You should honor what you having up in the restaurant. If not take it down. We had just went through a terrible storm had no electricity, wanted to get something to eat for supper.I was very dissatisfied, and will never be back to this location. French Lick Indiana Subway!!!!!

I'm a local but usually drive all the way to Mitchell Subway since they happily accept coupons, have free cookies on Mondays, and have always been polite. Was hungry tonight and didn't want pizza so I decided to stop at Subway. I came out with 3 of the thinnest sandwiches I have ever seen. They look like those sad sandwiches that Walmart sells in the deli. The gentleman was quite polite, the lady looked like I had ruined her evening by coming in. I wouldn't think anything but other reviews have said that is the norm. If you are near and absolutely must have Subway, I suggest getting the app and driving to Mitchell.

These people will add random charges to your bill. I ordered a “6” sub as a salad” and they charged me $4 more for the salad. My husband got the 6” combo for 6.99 and they charged him 7.49. I wanted a bottled drink added to my salad but they added it to the combo and refused to give him a cup for his meal. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

The person behind the counter looked really annoyed that we were even there. Never cracked a smile, said thank you, or any nice gesture. The women’s bathroom was out of order and the men’s bathroom was absolutely disgusting. It appeared to be 2 tablespoons of tuna on a tuna sandwich, so it tasted like wheat bread and cheese. The appearance of the vegetables was not good.

Disgusting. The food was so old the bread was so crusty it was an overall bad experience after a long trip to French lick. Stopped for something quick to eat before we got to the resort and it was extremely disappointing. You can definitely tell the owners were the ones working and overlooking the food quality. Anything to save a buck I guess?

Good service & clean, the Black Forest foot-long sandwich takeout was assembled great, absent the multi-grain bread. The bread was not fresh & it was crusty, dry & stale. I was disappointed. I noticed I paid more for this same menu vs. other SUBWAY RESTAURANTS. I will never do my business there again..

We had been waiting literally close to an hour for my boyfriend's chicken fettuccine pasta. And when it finally got brought out, it had clearly been microwaved and the chicken was gray. The sauce was burnt to the plate. It tasted nauseating. I waited 40 minutes for a small pizza, and it tasted cheap. Not worth it. We told the waitress about our unsatisfactory experience and she didn't seem to care, no one tried to make it right. She also brought out the wrong food twice. This is the kind of place that you could picture Gordon Ramsay coming in and yelling at everyone for how terrible it is.

Great small local restaurant. Their brick oven pizza is delicious and the staff is friendly. We had the chicken bacon ranch pizza, the taco salad and the boneless wings. They also carry Dad’s old fashioned root beer and cream soda. We were not disappointed.

Atmosphere was great, wonderful older woman served us, very kind. Food was good smaller establishment. Family owned vibe. Would eat here again. Sauce is on the sweeter side so add crumbled sausage if you want to even that out.

Loaded pizza was good, but the wait was not. Felt bad for the sweet lady trying to do it all herself.

I love Just Off The Brick! Being a local, it's the perfect carry out pizza place! I have one small complaint though. I wish they put a little more cheese on their pizza. I haven't eaten inside but a handful of times. Of those times cheese is completely all over the pizza. Also very clean and friendly establishment. Give it a try if you haven't yet.

Husband and I stopped by to enjoy the wine tasting. Bartender was really nice. Wines were good. Wine options were diverse. I deducted 1 star because 1. Food options are non-existent here. I’m not sure if this is a recent change? Some reviews show house made charcuterie boards, burgers and pasta. Certainly was no longer an option on our visit. The only food options are prepackaged deli items in a cooler or fudge. We would have stayed longer if there were dining options. 2. Seating at the bar is standing only. 3. Front porch allows smokers. 4. Location is not great- it’s somewhat connected to a strip mall/type. No greenery. You stare out at a giant potholed parking lot.

Are the tastings a great price? Yes. But when peolle say its sweet wine, they arent talking normal level of sweetness. Its like drinking syrup. The wine is literally thick, that's how seeey it is, which WAS AWFUL. Also you have to stand at the bar, so if there is no room you're out of luck.

Our trip to French Lick Winery was very underwhelming. We went on a Saturday to celebrate our anniversary. There was no food made in house, which is fine, but what they had to offer was pitiful - Sam's Club cheese and crackers. The building itself did not give the feeling like you were in a winery. The staff was very kind and treated us very well. Just the overall experience was not at all what we expected from a winery.

My Little Princess and I stopped by for a wine tasting and I elected to taste their distilled spirits of interest. Mandy was most helpful with her service and selection guidance. Very nice facility, these folks are serious about their business. The tasting pricing is exceptionally reasonable for a wide variety of selections offered. Our tastes led to purchases of Leon Mellot, Heaven's View Traminette, French Tickle, and their White Bourbon Whiskey (Moonshine to some). If you like wine and spirits, you gotta go!

They DON’T serve food here so I’m hoping I saved you a trip. But the Bartenders were great and very knowledgeable of the Wine and Spirits! We came during a $6 unlimited wine tasting special which was fantastic! They have some great wine and cocktails! Only thing about this place is that I was slightly misled thinking there would be food here? We had to leave during our tasting to get some food then comeback. I was looking forward to their “pizza” as I seen a lot of prior old reviews about how great their pizza was but I believe they stopped pizza making so keep that in mind!

This pizza is called the BRONX. Very fresh ingredients especially the mushrooms they were not chewy they was very fresh. Plenty of mozzarella cheese that is for sure. The sauce was pretty sweet , I like a good Italian tanginess. I had a nice glass of white wine that paired well with this pie. The dough was a little bit chewy but I could tell it was fresh and homemade. It had a nice undercarriage could have stayed in just another minute or two. It looked like some pretty amazing other pizzas pastas breads very well done.

Very accomodating and awesome staff. You can often tee off prior to the official open time if you want to beat the rush. Course was in great shape and with 5 tee boxes you can make it fit your game. I'd play this course every single morning next time i come back

The course it’s self was nice, but unfortunately I have never experienced worse manners and treatment while golfing. We are here for a chill bachelorette party, and I felt like because we were women, the Marshall’s expected us to not know what we were doing? They followed us around like children and made several rude and condescending comments during our play.

Fun, easy, short 9 hole golf course that's mostly overshadowed by the don ross and Pete dye courses here. If you play the white tees, it's very short, however if you play from the blue or bronze tees, it plays like a normal length course. The eighth hole features a really interesting elevated tee box that puts a creek in play unless your drive can carry 225 yards.

Cute little 9 hole course. Prefect for a quick evening out. Great driving range.

This is one of the nicer additions to the town in recent years. As someone that lives locally I only stop in occasionally but I always enjoy myself when I do and find lots of cool things. Even when I don't visit the gallery itself, I always enjoy seeing the sculptures through the windows as I walk my dog. I've been happy to see so much art take such a prominent place in the town.

Loved seeing Bigfoot Otis at Patoka Lake. Great photo op and a unique piece of folk art tucked away in southern Indiana! Such an amazing work of art by Bear Hollow Wood Carvers.

What a fabulous store in French Lick. It was hard to make a decision about everything they had in the store. Great customer service, very friendly! Went out for a walk and came back to get one of the owls, then called on Monday for a second owl. Bought the stand and flowers at a local store in my home town. Was given instructions on how to care for the owls. They are adorable pieces of wood artwork!

Enthusiastic staff and saving the best for last, an amazing set of showcases with miniatures of the Hagenbeck & Wallace circus depicting the complete circus train, parade and the entire grounds of the show in progress. The museum has so many interesting displays, but I could hardly tear myself away from the world's largest circus diorama (over 500,000 pieces). It is divided into three parts, the train, the parade and the circus tents set up. It is absolutely fascinating. The museum manager, Kenton Allbright was a delight also.

Kenton was definitely very knowledgeable about everything about this wonderful place. The museum is a place to see.

From the moment you walk in, you feel like you’re taking a step back in history. The staff was incredible and once you get into the museum tour, take your time to read and learn about the history of French Lick. I’ve visited 20 times in my life and learned so much today. Highly recommend visiting!

We visited the museum back in June and had a great time! Lisa was so much fun to talk to and was very informative. She took great pictures for us, too! We won the popcorn at the end for finishing the scavenger hunt. Definitely worth stopping in when you're in French Lick to learn about the area! It was interesting how the information differed from what we read in the hotel about how French Lick got its name.

Stopped in today and met the nicest attendant! He helped us plan the rest of our trip and we loved every minute of it. He's very knowledgeable about the region and it's history. Definitely a place to stop in and explore!

Wonderful little museum for the town of French Lick West Baden. This houses the best circus Miniatures I have ever seen. You could literally spend hours looking at the Miniatures exhibit (if you like miniatures). The detail is outstanding. Worth the price of admission (and there is a coupon if you stop by the visitors center in town, and get the visitors center booklet/map/coupon). Also had a small gift shop with really unique items. Definitely worth a visit.

First thing u notice is the sewer smell of definitely throws a wrench in the ambiance. The bathroom smelled way better! Our waitress Makayla was not very excited to be there, not attentive either. Ordered the margarita, skip it, tasted like lime water . The rest of the food was delicious though, I had the chicken bacon ranch jalapeños ranch wrap with Parmesan fries, it was delicious!! Husband had the triple B burger with onion rings, it was delicious and they give u nice portions. Overall I would go back but get a different waitress and drink for sure.

Went to do a food review here on Friday night , got there 15 min before closing on the cafe side , note the bar side was still open. Ask the owner if I could get some burgers as the waitress stated should be fine since there was still 15 min, owner said not a chance. Fast forward to the next day. Came in and ordered, waitress was realizing good. Excellent service, but she put in my food wrong. She said they would bring me another sandwich, and then all she brought was a another burger patty. And then stated the charged me for the cheaper burger. So In The end I did not even get the food I went there to exp. My overall assessment is its a cheap bar that looks nice, and serves generic food. Make sure to go over what you order, just to be safe. Pros :.good service out side the ordering error. Cons : generic food, they don’t honor what they say.

I can't speak to the food, as we didn't get to order. We walked into the bar, were greeted and taken to a table fairly quickly. Upon walking past the bar, a patron spoke to us. We both answered, however, she was so drunk that she did not hear us. (Not that she was entitled to a response from complete strangers, but I digress.) When she didn't feel like we had both responding as she wanted, she proceded to curse and yell at us. My boyfriend told her, nicely, that cursing at us was not appropriate, to which she responded that she "cusses at everyone". During this entire encounter, the employees were giving us dirty looks and never condemned her behavior. With a population of less than 1800 people, one would think that treating tourists and out of towners with decency and respect would be beneficial. I will be letting the local government know that this is how businesses treat tourists.

My husband brought me to French Lick for my birthday and unfortunately, many restaurants were closed. We stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. Sonja served us & she was so nice, informative, and welcoming. We got a fried mushroom appetizer and they were wonderful! She suggested the wings, so my husband & I both got the ten wings, as you can have 2 flavors with the ten and a side item. He got bbq/garlic parmesan w/waffle fries & I got garlic parmesan/Cajun dry rub w/onion rings. The wings are large, super meaty, and the flavors were absolutely wonderful. They were the probably some of the best wings we've ever eaten. The waffle fries and onion rings were delicious! We'll definitely be back! Make sure you stop in and try the wings!

Nice pub! Service by Flor P was excellent. Asked her opinions on the food and I love when a server gives their input. The pizza and side salad were delicious and my friend loved her wings. Legendz Punch was quite sweet and yummy!

Great food, this is a local favorite of mine. I always get their Philly cheese steaks, my BIL gets their wings, and my husband will get a burger. There's something on the menu for everyone, even picky kids if you have them. We bring people here when we have visitors from our of town and usually opt for the outdoor seating. Staff members are really friendly, and do their best to be great. I've never been disappointed. Great portions, great good, great price.

Solid choice! We ordered pickup. We both got the burger and fries. The burger was huge. The bun was perfect and the patty seasoned. My only complaint is the lettuce wasn't fresh and had no onion. I loved the sweet potato fries. Even came with apple butter which was a great combo. I'd definitely try it again.

Chicago's has been our favorite on family trips to French Lick over the past decade. It's always clean. The service is fast and friendly. The salad bar is fresh and worth a make- your- own salad. We love the crispy deep dish edges and the meatballs are delicious too. My kids love the spaghetti. Everything is still a big portion/ great value.

Great pizza and they don't skimp on the toppings. Their salad bar is fresh with good selections but they shut it down an hour before closing. They have several locations but the one we frequent is in French Lick, IN. As far as noise level, it depends on how many unbehaved children are in attendance.

We do not come to French Lick without stopping at Chicago Pizza. The food is fantastic, and the service is always fast and friendly. The deep dish pizza is my go-to, and it is so delicious that I have a hard time branching out to try anything new. I prefer to dine-in, but this past weekend we picked up a pie on the way to the hotel, and it traveled perfectly. It didn't have far to travel in all fairness, but it was still piping hot and delicious.

Fresh tasting toppings and great sauce. The traditional pizza crust tastes fantastic. You def get that small hometown family owned feel when visiting. Will certainly try again next time visiting French lick.

This is a very affordable lunch option. $12 for all you want salad, pizza, bread sticks and drinks. The facility is outdated but a good cheap experience.

Decent pizza, I don't know if I would really call it true "chicago" style though. It's kinda just regular deep dish pizza. It's good, but did not WOW me. The wait staff was very nice, but food came out very slow. All in all, not bad. I'd stop by again if I was ever in the area.

Atmosphere was neat, lighting was a issue only in some seating positions (poor light placement). Food was a near 0 unfortunately. Steaks were very tough with no real flavor. Steak was warm but toppings were nearly refrigerator cold, not a great combo. Service seemed undertrained or lacked details. Never checked for satisfaction, instead rushed the process. 1 star feels right considering food quality, presentation, lack of details, service level, and finally price point. Plenty of options in and around Louisville with much better service, food quality, and attention to details.

Had dinner here last night. Really was anticipated eating here. The potatoes gratin was very salty. Filet was good. The Lamb was tasty, but not hot. We had a bottle of Bread and Butter with our bread and butter.

Friday night meal, we showed up early, first ones to be seated. They sat us next to the bar where it seemed like all the employees gathered and chatted pretty loudly during our whole meal. Service was great, but then we were the only two patrons in during this whole time, friendly folks for sure. I ordered the ribeye and she ordered the salmon. She loved the salmon and my steak was cooked to temp and was good. I don’t think it was worth the price though. Just the steak and a salad While sides were extra. My side was potatoes Au Gratin, big portion small in flavor. I’ve been to Ruth Chris,Morton’s, The Palm steakhouse and the steak I hade tasted more like something from Outback or longhorn. Was good but nothing I would say worth the hype! Shrimp cocktail was amazing and large portion. For this place in the area it’s a nice date night.

Fabulous steaks, service and vibe! Had the New York Strip, sides and Caesar and everything was delicious. Wonderful cocktails and desserts as well. Server Kerry was 10/10!

Visited Moo Moo’s for dinner and the food was amazing! The owner was personable and made great menu suggestions. We had a great wine paring and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Best crab cake we’ve ever had, highly recommend! The homemade Cesar dressing is peppery and delicious. Restaurant is beautifully lit and consistently busy. The wait staff was incredible. Epically Liguria , she took extra care of us. If you’re visiting the resort nearby take the trolly for dinner!!

The food, atmosphere and service was excellent! We enjoyed our evening here and recommend trying it for yourself! The duck was impeccable and our waitress was really kind. ❤️ The host even saw us outside trying to take a picture and took a picture for us!

We walked in on opening day at 9:00pm. Service was exceptional not too much and over the top but made sure we got everything we needed. Food was very delicious. I had the Lamb Chops one of my favorite dishes and it was good! My fiancé and I shared an appetizer, salad, & bread. She had the Salmon on orzo. It was a little too buttery for her, but that’s all personal preference. The king oyster mushroom was flavorful and complex but had a firm texture. Salad was good. bread was good. My favorite dish of the night was our appetizer the calamari. The atmosphere was great and lighting was very soft. Staff was great to us. Owner was very nice.

The best dining experience West Baden Hotel has to offer. Sinclair's provides an elegant and romantic setting. I opted for the lamb shank and while tender and tasty it was also a tad dry. The Pecorino encrusted artichokes starter, though, didn't disappoint. Service was top-notch. Reservations are recommended.

1. The bread starter that was served to us was cold, and I honestly couldn't tell you if it was stale, but it was crumbly as hell and fell apart. We did not eat it. 2.The crab cakes were great. The triple threat risotto was good, if you dont mind the seafood being a bit overcooked. The flavor was there. 3. Husband greatly disliked his veal marsala. 4. We only got 1 drink because the server didn't come back till the end of our meal to check on us and by then we were kind of over it. 5.My husband had to ask for our check, which would have been fine, but we actually needed to leave. After 10 min I told my husband to go without me. 20 more min of me sitting by myself, no servers in sight waiting for my check. Finally got it and left. 6. All of this MIGHT have been ok. But they sat us at the tiniest table, at the back of the restaurant that forced each of us to face a wall away from the rest of the restaurant, and we couldn't sit across from one another. So we had to sit adjacent, facing walls, away from everything. No one could see us. We were forgotten. 7. There is a suggested dress attire. People were coming in regular work t shirts and blue jeans, like they just spent the day at a regular job and decided to walk in. This was our 10 year anniversary dinner. It really hurt. I even put in our reservation notes how important this night was to us. We could have gotten better service and food at an OCharleys. $189, plus a $30 tip. Not worth it. This is not a fancy/expensive restaurant. Its just another place inside of a hotel. I will include a Pic of the crab cakes because they were good.

Sinclair's Restaurant is located inside of West Baden Springs Resort. We ate here for breakfast and they have fine dining in the evening. The food came out hot and fresh and service was pretty good. The atmosphere is classy but still comfortable. We stayed here for my birthday and they even brought out a little cake for dessert! They do not sing to you, so no worries about that.

Sinclairs is my favorite breakfast spot in West Baden. The Eggs Benedict is always my go-to, and it never disappoints. The service is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere matches the elegance of the West Baden Springs Hotel itself. Having breakfast here is the perfect way to take in the beauty and history of this incredible landmark—whether you’re a guest at the resort or just stopping in to experience it. What a perfect way to start the day! Every visit feels special.

My experience with the Fine Dining side was impeccable. It was romantic, with a great wine selection, and the Chilean Sea Bass Was wonderful. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt. I will definitely return again! On the breakfast/Café side, much the same observation. Service was a little slow, but we were not in a hurry, so it wasn't detrimental to the experience. The breakfast entrées are definitely large enough to share!

A surprisingly beautiful setting welcomes you to enjoy a meal. The staff was professional and friendly. We were served coffee with a backup pitcher full of our breakfasts were prepared to perfection and served hot. Overall, an exceptional experience. Try the eggs Benedict!!

The service was really slow. It took an hour to get the food and we couldn't get refills on our drinks cause we did not see our waitress. We waited 30 minutes after we were finished to get the check too. Crab cakes were good but veal marsala was not seasoned. We dressed up as the restaurant requested but allot of people were in jeans and a t shirt which was against the dress code they require. It kinda brings down the environment when im in a suit and the guy next to me is in ripped jeans and a ozzy t shirt. Overall, not wort $200 for me and the wife with this service and food.

Supposedly the signature restaurant in the WBH/French Lick hotels portfolio. Reserved a table for Christmas dinner and opted for the chef's special, Beef Wellington. The pastry was too doughy for the money you pay to eat here. The starter soup, Lobster Bisque, was tasty. The service was slow and had to wait longer than necessary for drinks. After being presented a bill, my card was brought back with a new bill because they had undercharged. Not classy. Also, don't expect a refined dining atmosphere. On one side of us was a screaming 3 year old and on the other side was an adult dressed like 3 year old in a ball cap and football hoodie. A very underwhelming experience. Actually couldn't wait to leave.

We were warmly greeted and escorted to a comfy table. Our server Jared was extremely professional and friendly throughout our visit. He told us a brief history of the place and described the menu. The taste of tomato juice was a special touch. We ordered filets, baked potatoes and a wedge salad. The filets were prepared perfectly and they were tender and delicious. We ordered red wine which was an excellent compliment to the dinner. The experience was memorable because of the beautiful setting, the exceptional service and the delicious entrees.

I'll begin with the service. As soon I walked in I was immediately greeted and shown to my table. Along the way to the table, the host started giving me the background about the restaurant. There's a lot of history that connects with the Kentucky Derby all the way back to 1875, hence the name. The atmosphere is pretty nice. I can't give it five stars, because it's lacking that certain something that reminds you that you're not actually in a New York City steakhouse. However, it is up-to-date and very charming. My server was very attentive and gave me their local apéritif which is based in tomato juice. He made sure I knew the history behind the restaurant as well as the tomato juice. He went over the menu and made sure that I was aware of the drinks that were available. The service was very warming and attentive. The house syrah was pretty decent for a house wine. I got my usual for a steakhouse, the boneless ribeye. I also ordered the house garlic mashed potatoes and the cream spinach and artichokes. The meal came significantly quicker than I expected. However, I had got there shortly after it opened and I was one of very few tables at that particular time. The food was warm, but not quite as hot as I would expect it to have come straight from the kitchen. The appearance was appealing and the portions were were large. Now for the review of the food. The ribeye steak was slightly undercooked. I ordered medium rare, and it came more rare than medium rare. That was okay with me, as I would prefer to be a little undercooked than overcooked. This was clearly not an aged steak, as there was lots of connective tissue throughout and the steak was significantly more chewy than a ribeye should be. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. I wouldn't say there were anything out of the ordinary, but they were good old around. The creamed spinach and artichokes was very rich and creamy. I enjoyed the taste. However, like the potatoes and the steak, it wasn't quite as hot in temperature as I would have expected it to be. Not cold, just warm. Dessert options are brought out on a cart. I got the chocolate torte, as that is my general go-to dessert. I also ordered a cappuccino. Both came fairly quickly and did not disappoint. I wouldn't say the quality of the food was bad, however, given the price and the local hype, I didn't feel it was really worth it. I'm glad I tried it, but if I'm in the area again, I will pass.

It’s an expensive steakhouse. It is not the best high end steakhouse I have visited. You want to walk away saying, “that was a pricey meal, but worth every penny.” I did not feel that way here. That does not mean the food was bad, just that it wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be. The steak and baked potato were fine. The salad could have been better. My girlfriend did not like the shrimp cocktail. Their signature manhattan was pretty bad. Too sweet and clearly made by and for people who don’t like manhattans. I like French Lick and will be back, but won’t be going to the 1875.

1st time dining at 1875. Made a reservation on the way to French Lick. Table was ready and we were seated immediately. Atmosphere was very upscale. The famous French Lick sulphur smell was very strong the evening we were there. But never in the casino? Complementary dinner rolls were lukewarm and not as soft as you would imagine. Plating and presentation is great. 8oz sirloin had a nice crust to it. But was VERY salty. They were out of baked potatoes so we ordered the garlic mashed potatoes. I believe there was more garlic in them than potato. A very very strong garlic taste. All in all an okay dining experience. It was a place we wanted to check off our list for awhile. Will be in no hurry to go back. For the money you spend it is much better spent at one of the steakhouses in Indianapolis. Expect around $50-$60 a person for food when ordering modest, no drinks.

Fantastic place for an anniversary celebration!! The Mrs and I decided to spend our anniversary at French Lick and what better place to eat than The Steakhouse. We opted for the colossal shrimp cocktail for a starter. It was wonderful. I then chose the New York Strip which was perfectly cooked, tender and soo flavorful!! The Mrs had the pasta with wild mushrooms, which she enjoyed. Our meal was topped off with dipped strawberries for our dessert!!!

This course is gorgeous. The greens are immaculate. The sand traps are also picturesque. Everything about this course is top notch. The carts have nice GPS trackers that show you where the cart is in front of you. I also enjoyed the bathroom / ice and water station at the halfway point on the course. We stopped there a couple of times where other greens were close as well. We will be back!!!

What an amazing course. One of my favorite Donald Ross courses I’ve ever played. Very challenging but , extremely rewarding as well. Layout is amazing. Pristine conditions, staff is super friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

Classic layout, over 100 years old, extremely hilly not a flat lie on the golf course. Every hole has a blind shot somewhere on it. The greens are unputable unless your a single digit handicap; It's a challenge just not to three putt. No one in our group didn't at least 3 putt every hole and we play golf every week. "No driving range" you have to hit into a structure that has nets and range balls... seems odd for $150 per round golf course not to find somewhere to put a driving range on the property out here in the country. Staff at the pro shops very pleasant, well stocked with many, many souvenirs. Service in the grill room is probably the slowest I've ever seen at any golf course. We ordered lunch and then left before it came because it took so long. Definitely an excellent experience all things considered but warm up in your hotel room and bring your wallet and a lunch...

Prior to teeing it up at the Ross course, I had read that it is a tough test of golf. In fact, most reviewers indicate that it's about 3 shots harder than the Dye course nearby. In addition to that, with the elevation changes, it plays about 300 yards longer than the yardage on the card. Throw in some Donald Ross greens, with buried elephants and upside down bowl tops, and you've got yourself a real test. But an interesting thing happened when I played...I actually listened to the advice in the pro shop and wound up having the best round I've played in probably 15 years. There is deep heather and plenty of undulation to go along with the bunkering. But the fairways are wide and accommodating. You won't get in trouble in the rough unless you really spray it. But whatever the yardage says, ADD AT LEAST ONE CLUB. I did exactly that and it made all the difference. I did that on virtually every hole and didn't over club a single time. The greens are typical Ross experiences and it's a blast to play them. You will find very gracious hosts, a splendidly designed, and beautifully manicured course. If you play well, that's a plus. But you're in for a great experience either way.

Frenk Lick Donald Ross has some of the best golf staff around in every department. Course is tough with lots of elevation. Some of my best memories are out on this course over the years.

Excellent experience from bag drop to cart return. A challenging course with elevation changes through every hole. Greens are big, true, consistent, and have a lot of movement. It is a good idea to choose the right tees. The course yardages may be deceiving as to tee selection. I'm pretty sure you hit up to every green, and at least a few will send short shorts for a smooth run back your direction. There are some really interesting lines up, over, along, and down the green features - sometimes on the same putt. A fair test of your game. I felt challenged, but it was a great and enjoyable round. The icing on the cake was the staff and other amenities. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful around the course, in the pro shop, and in the restaurant. Hagen's Restaurant is more than your regular clubhouse restaurant. It is frequented by non-golfers for lunch and dinner, but casual for those after round drinks and stories. There are also great views of the course. The pro shop had a nice selection of Donald Ross French Lick items as well as other things you may need for your round. Before I left, I was already making plans to bring a group back.

Course is super challenging maybe tougher than Pete Dye honestly. If you miss it left or right off most tees it’s gone. Be ready for a drop. It requires very good golf shots. The pace of play is pathetic. 49 mins behind pace. Not one Marshall drove around to speed things up. Ball washers on the course were bone dry. But they constantly seem to have 4-6 guys standing around up front doing nothing. Course conditions were good. They let a few people ruin the entire day for the majority. Do nothing about it

I photographed a wedding here recently and they were wonderful to work with! The coordinator was great and the ceremony views 10/10!! Highly recommend and hope to come back again soon ☺️

Beautiful course. French lik is tucked away in a rugged and rustic area making it a resort town. The course was nuts to play. The terrain was crazy, lots of deep and rolling valleys, and the greens were all over the place in challenges. The clubhouse phenomenal. Course quality was fabulous which due to the terrain you can tell where many golfers had to hit shots from. Definitely a great stop if you love the game...and with the small casino right there to get you to the course, it makes it convenient.

You don’t have to be Tiger Woods to love the Pete Dye Course at French Lick. Perched on one of the highest points in Indiana, the course serves up jaw-dropping 40-mile panoramic views that make even a double-bogey feel like a win. This place is for everyone—PGA level pros chasing perfection, weekend warriors out to prove something, and putt-putt dads just happy to make it down the fairway. The staff is welcoming, the vibe is relaxed, and the course itself is both challenging and fun; a true 5-star experience that is simply par for the Timeless French Lick destination. Come for the golf, stay for the scenery—this is Indiana golf at its absolute best.

It’s a must play for any avid golfer. The layout and the views are unmatched where you will spend most of the round just enjoying the view. Very difficult course and must rely on the forecaddie. We had Ryan who was spectacular and made the experience even better.

Unreal course. 100% worth every penny you’ll pay. Staff was so kind, course was in amazing shape, service top notch. Keenan our caddie really made our experience, he was phenomenal. Only bad thing is ladies working in the restaurant weren’t the nicest. Would recommend this place to anyone

What an awesome experience, a beautiful and challenging course and wish I could play it daily!! They even gifted you a bottle of whiskey, cigar (cutting tool and matches) and bag tag after the round was over, nice touch!! Look forward to coming again!!

Fantastic views. Well worth the price. Great course and very challenging. Played the white tees. There are 5 sets of tees. The mansion/restaurant has best overall view. The food is wonderful. Driving range and chipping/putting green are top of the line. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

The food we got was pretty good. My husband got the Cajun shrimp pasta, I believe, and his only complaint was it could use more sauce. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and it was amazing. One of the best ones I've ever had. We loved their raspberry tea and the desserts were amazing as well. We got the apple crisp and the brownie. Amazing! But definitely have a crowd if you get more than one dessert, they are pretty big:) My only complaint was that our waitress got a little busy and forgot us for a while, but she was very good when she was working with us.

Good food and decent portions. The views are amazing. Alfredo chicken and their french fries are a must try. Shrimp Pasta was not to our liking. Enjoyed our lunch with a view. Worth it.

Our food was a disappointment. The Cobb salad was just okay. The Cuban while meaty was tasteless-for a Cuban which should be punchy tart. The ham and pork and cheese and pickles were blah when tasted individually. The California wrap had essentially no other filling but chicken -which tasted like pork. The salsa was flat. Yuck! Then grilled! It was not fresh which you’d expect from a Cali burrito. It must be the grill or the griller/cook or they use inferior ingredients. Based on other reviews this place is a hit or miss, guess depending on who’s cooking? I won’t be back.

While searching for good food in the area we found this place and decided to go give it a try and while I will say the food looked like something out of a cooking show it was not all that great.. At least what I had wasn’t… The server was polite but seemed to take a long time to check on the table for refills and such. When we received our ticket it was a bit disappointing only because the food and service was not what I had expected. I’d say it isn’t a terrible choice but definitely give other places a good consideration.

Poutine was awful. The "gravy" was pretty much clumps of overcooked flour- literally no fluid to it whatsoever. Beef was good, but had a weird browned flavor to it. Not sure what was going on there. The server was amazing and sweet, and graceful about my dislike as she noticed my face while eating...

Came here for a nice date with my wife. We got seated next to a bunch of rowdy golfers who were pretty intoxicated. Wife and I could hardly even talk to each other. The food was pretty good. The portion sizes were massive.

Great service, great views, the salmon BLT needed better bread and the bacon was too sweet ( syrup or sugar added to the crust and not needed )... appetizer chicken wings were very very good!!! Steak nachos off the appetizer menu also good, great steak and the other components were pretty good, tiny amount of guac and too big of a glob of sour cream.... My spicy shrimp pasta dish, shrimp were cooked perfect and great but the pasta sauce no spice at all and it was ok, pasta was good but the sauce was just off.... Great photos to look at and a good sized bar

Don’t come here on Sunday's. PERIOD… Waited in drive thru for 30 mins and then another 20 in a parking spot. After she said 7 mins for sausage.😡 And missed 2 of my items. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT COME HERE ON SUNDAY’S go to McDonald’s.

We were in the restaurant today to get ice cream. Restaurant was empty, zero customers. The cashier seemed unfamiliar with the register. We waited until a lady came over and helped him. Then we sat for well over 40 minutes, finally my husband said is our ice cream ready yet…one girl was on her phone while the other employees were just standing around. Then we got our ice cream, it was good. The restaurant was filthy dirty, napkins and spilled food on the floors. Tables had crumbs, flies everywhere. We will not be back.

We only eat fast food once in a great while. We got dairy queen a couple months ago the sandwich was wrong. Well tonight we decided to have it again and it was horrible we ordered a double bacon deluxe cheeseburger i believe is the correct name anyways what we got was a burger that looked like it comes in a kids meal. We ordered two orders of onion rings one looked ok the other order was burnt smelled like old grease so bad we threw it away.

Waited forever in drive through. When we got to the order screen no one said anything for like 15 minutes. We were wondering if it was broken and we’re about to pull forward to order when someone finally says something. Then we only ordered two blizzards and they got one wrong.

Will NEVER come back! Most disguising fast food restaurant I have been to and there was so much trash on the floor. The girls were rude and extremely unprofessional. We watched the girl getting fries use her hand to put them in the fry box. Food was disgusting and not at all what we ordered. Pics will explain themselves.

This dairy queen has the worst service, cocky guy named Austin took my order on Friday May 2 2025 around 740 pm. He was so rude I will never be back to this location again. Drive thru wait was so slow . They were taking one car order , then when that car pulled forward they did not take my order until that car at the window got their food. It was so ridiculous. Crazy slow service. Not happy with the food either. Worst DQ I have ever been too!!!! My recommendation would be keep going straight on the highway and do not turn into dairy queen. Wish I could give it a no star.

Think about your local DQ and how big the peices of chicken is. This place gives mini burnt peices of chicken. And unless you ask for the gravy...they leave it out. Oh and they dont have togo boxes so your togo food just slings everywhere in your bag.
