Driftwood Estate Winery is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable experience for wine lovers. Visitors can indulge in a delightful tasting of six wines, featuring standout selections like the well-balanced Tempranillo and Sangiovese Reserve, both of which are worth savoring despite their higher price tags. The warm and welcoming staff enhances the overall ambiance, making guests feel right at home as they sip on exquisite wines while soaking in stunning vineyard views.
We had the most amazing time at the Driftwood Estate Winery! Not only were the views and wine incredible, our service was unbeatable. We had Carol do our wine tasting and she was a HOOT! She made the entire experience even better than we expected. I can’t wait to go back! 🖤

Wife and I love coming to this winery when we visit Austin. Been coming for years and we love it. The wine they make is super and so is the bistro.
Adolfo G — Google review
My friend and I visited this winery today and had such a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming. The wine was absolutely delicious — we enjoyed every sip while taking in the breathtaking views of the vineyard. We visited on a weekday, so the bistro wasn’t open, but the peaceful atmosphere made for the perfect, relaxing afternoon. I’ve noticed some reviews mention the winery’s policy on no children or infants — personally, I appreciated the adults-only setting, as it added to the tranquil and serene experience. This is a gem of a spot, and I can’t wait to come back when the bistro is open. Highly recommend for a peaceful escape, great wine, and beautiful scenery!

We had a wedding rehearsal dinner here. Everything about this place is absolutely beautiful. The Staff, Anita and the owner were so friendly & helpful. Their wine and craft beer selection is awesome. We were able to enjoy the sunset while enjoying our dinner. They made our rehearsal dinner a very special occasion. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back and enjoy this property again.

Very friendly staff & excellent variety of wines! Stunning views! Highly recommend! The woman that checked us out even gave us a free wine opener as we didn’t have one in our Airbnb.
Stephanie S — Google review
I had the most incredible experience at this winery! Carol and Laryn went above and beyond with their exceptional customer service, making the tastings an absolute dream. They even went off-menu to ensure our palates were perfectly accommodated. I ended up leaving with four bottles of their fantastic wine, and they were kind enough to let us stay a little longer to soak in the gorgeous sunset. Such sweethearts! Highly recommend – their service is absolutely killer!
Amanda N — Google review
Beautiful countryside overlooking from outdoor picnic tables. Their huge outdoor shelter house can get REALLY noisy with just a few people so that it's hard to talk. We walked next door to the Bistro and ordered 3 appetizers for the six of us while we enjoyed our bottle of wine from the winery. It was nice and quiet there. You MUST order food though to sit there.

The park offers various trails that allow visitors to immerse themselves in its captivating surroundings. Great hike. Short but perfect for someone just wanting to get out for a quick stroll with not too many people. I enjoyed the little sculptures along the way.

Nice, quiet, easy walk. My favorite place to walk with my pups. No hot, paved trails just natural terrain.
Judy M — Google review
This was a very neat park to explore! There is a bird viewing pavilion with a book containing information on all the wildlife you could see. Unfortunately we didn't see any roadrunner but some beautiful pairs of Cardinals, other birds and some deer. Bring water and enjoy the hike !!!
Amanda I — Google review
What a lovely park. I imagined myself walking the perimeter of my own ranch land to check the fence line and survey the lands. Idyllic, beautiful, and full of all the trees, flowers, and prickly pear you need to recharge your spirit.
Wendy L — Google review
Great park for a leisure hike with a 9 month old. Wasn't too short it was just the right distance to tire little man right into a nap :) highly recommend if you have a little one with a stroller and do not want to commit multiple hours to a hike. All in all it took us about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. Could have taken longer if we wanted but we chose to end it short.

Lots of quiet places to watch birds. My son loved the different trails. A very clean easy trail - a great way to spend an afternoon.

Free entrance, Not much to see. Just a trail that loops around in a big circle. Maybe an ok jogging or walking path. There was a small bird observation area.

Awesome scenery! Lots of space for kiddos to run around. Beautiful oak trees all around. The pale ale is my favorite. They have a food truck but havnt tried it yet. It has been a winery since the 80s and they just added a brewery less than a year ago. So now its the best of both worlds. Check it out for sure!

Great beer at a local winery. We didn’t stop in to try out the winery but the brews were very good. The Scottish ale was my favorite and the smoked Porter was really interesting. They had live music and we really enjoyed the ambiance.

One of the best wineries I’ve ever been to. Pablo (I hope I got it right) was great. He was friendly and took his time with our tasting and told us a lot about the winery and the area. I would recommend this to any one loving wine in the Wimberly area. Wish we had time to try the beer.

We did a couples tour with friends and had an absolutely amazing time. This place definitely deserves 5 stars! The highlight of our visit was Carter—he was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made our wine tasting experience unforgettable. He recommended fantastic wines that suited everyone’s tastes and took the time to explain each one with genuine enthusiasm. Carter’s expertise and warm personality really elevated our entire visit. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a top-notch wine tasting experience!

Carter was very knowledgeable about the different wines and awesome selections for us to try. With the selections he suggested we found ones that both me and my husband will be able to enjoy together. I am more of the dry reds and my husband is more of the sweets. But Carter found us one that with a perfect blend of dry and sweet. Thank you Carter we will definitely be back and will let our friends and family know of this amazing place.

Yikes! Overall our visit was lovely, the wine tasting was great and the premises were so cute with all the animals. We went behind the main building and there was no sign posted. When we turned around to head back, a woman with a child said “this isn’t open to the public” and then repeated it again and just stared at us. Okay? We didn’t know and there was no sign posted. Very rude, especially after the person serving us wine said we could walk around. It seemed like she was the wife of someone that lived and worked there. Really dampened the whole experience, won’t be coming back.

My date and I had the BEST time at Wimberley Valley Winery!! The whole place has such a pretty, relaxed ambiance -- perfect for hanging out and sipping wine. The variety of wines was impressive, with excellent flavors across the board, and what really made it shine were our two hosts, Jake and Carter. They went above and beyond -- generous pours, so thoughtful and sweet, and they made the whole experience feel personal, fun, and easy. None of that stiff, snobby wine vibe here, just genuine hospitality and good times. And as if that wasn’t enough, we even stumbled into a surprise crew of Porsches outside -- 25 Porches on their way to a show in this picturesque scene. Great wine, great people, beautiful setting -- honestly doesn’t get better than that. Huge thanks to Jake and Carter for making it unforgettable. These guys deserve a bonus!!! :) We’ll definitely be back!

We celebrated my bday here and had an amazing time. The wine tasting was great and reasonably priced. The indoor and outdoor atmosphere were amazing. Loved the black toilet. 😂 The pizza from the food truck was great. They had live music outside. Misters and fans made sitting outdoors pleasant. The animals were so sweet! We will definitely be back on our next Wimberley trip.

Beautiful place, lots of wine and beer options. Great sweet wine options, which is my preference. They had a scavenger hunt setup for kids and one for adults. Food truck smelled amazing but we had just ate. Only one girl working and she was pretty Awesome! Hands down the best out of 6 wineries we visited on our long weekend.

Barbecue restaurant
Located in the small town of Driftwood, just 30 minutes southwest of Austin, The Salt Lick BBQ has been a staple in Texas-style BBQ since 1967. This rustic outpost is renowned for its mouthwatering slow-cooked meats and famous sauces and rubs. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while savoring dishes like Bison Rib and brisket that are flavorful and juicy. The friendly staff adds to the fantastic experience, making it a must-visit spot for BBQ enthusiasts.
We really enjoyed our first visit to Salt Lick. From the host, to our server, everything was super friendly. We really enjoyed that you could order plates of food and it was the perfect amount. We had ribs, pulled pork, sausage and brisket. My favorite was definitely the ribs and pulled pork. My husband loved the pulled pork and sausage. The brisket was sadly a bit on the dry side. The sides were good, just the potato salad could be a bit more creamier. We definitely will be back.

Last time I visited here was about 10 years ago. I love the BBQ! Personally I don’t like coleslaw at all cause Mayonnaise, but I love Salt lick coleslaw. It’s light, fresh and unique. I ate two servings of it. The potato salad and the beans are tasty, too. I brought our dog during the trip and they have outdoor area that you can enjoy you meal with you pups. Very pet-friendly. The host is very friendly. Out waitress is nice, too. Oh man… I already miss the food. ❤️❤️
Kate — Google review
Visiting The Salt Lick BBQ was an unforgettable experience and one of the best meals I’ve had in Texas. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere feels authentic and welcoming, perfectly fitting that true country vibe. The rustic setting, the smell of smoked meats in the air, and the lively environment make it the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. The highlight for me was definitely the brisket — it was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor that melts in your mouth. Every bite had that balance of rich seasoning and slow-cooked goodness that makes Texas BBQ famous. It’s the kind of brisket you can’t stop thinking about long after the meal is over. Another thing I loved is that you can actually bring your own beer or drinks, which makes the whole experience even more fun and relaxed. Pairing your favorite beverage with such incredible BBQ adds a personal touch that really sets this place apart. Overall, The Salt Lick isn’t just about the food (though it’s amazing) — it’s about the whole experience: the flavors, the setting, and the atmosphere. A true Texas gem that I can’t wait to return to.
Miguel R — Google review
We absolutely loved our visit to The Salt Lick- it’s an institution for a reason! The location is huge with tons of seating, and also has an adjoining winery. The food was absolutely delicious! The sides were simple, but very good. My absolute favorite thing I ate was the sausage, it was quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. We will absolutely be back, and would recommend a visit to anyone looking for a great Texas BBQ experience!
Allyson M — Google review
The alternative to going all the way into Austin. Quite a festive atmosphere with the Halloween theme. Even at 2 pm on a weekday, the place was pretty mobbed. Still, plenty of open tables, though we waited maybe 12 - 15 min to be seated - empty tables all around us! I think they have to manage the capacity bc the BBQ pit looks like the limitations factor. We got bison ribs, pork ribs & brisket. The ribs were uniformly great: tender, flavorful, great bark. The pork ribs looked amazing (nephew wolfed them down without sharing), pink & tender. Bison was also great, tender without being too fatty. The brisket was also tender & pretty juicy (not dry like other reviews reported), but suffered from insufficient flavors, despite the sauces on the table. I think you can't really add flavor to BBQ meats after the fact. The sides (baked beans, coleslaw, potatoes) that came with the plates were meh. The potatoes were the best among the lot. A shame there were no greens whatsoever, but it's a TX BBQ, and I guess they don't consume greens much. Didn't order dessert.
Chiucat A — Google review
Man, that was pretty dang good bbq! I’d heard that Salt Lick was all hype and a long wait. I’m certain that it can get super busy—purely based on the amount of parking spaces and tables they have. Wait wasn’t bad at all, 20 minutes. Food was great!! My wife loves lean brisket, she was so happy with her brisket! Ribs were so tender, sausage was fantastic!! And best part, the price was super reasonable! (You need to take out a small loan to eat at Terry Blacks!) Atmosphere was classic! Such a great bbq experience!!
Keir J — Google review
The Salt Lick BBQ — the best BBQ I’ve had in Texas! The food was absolutely amazing — smoky, tender, and full of authentic flavor. The atmosphere made it even better: a true Texas vibe with a cowboy musician playing guitar and singing live. It felt like more than a restaurant — it was a whole experience filled with great food, music, and southern hospitality. A must-visit if you’re ever in Texas!
Imad A — Google review
Lots of parking. There's a wine and beer bar next door called Salt Lick Cellars. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It's bench seating. The food is terrific. The meats are cooked just right. And you decide your level of sauce. Pictured is the sausage and brisket with a 1/2 lb of pulled pork. Its not sweet bbq sauce. A little bit on the vinegar side. Not overwhelming. The spicy sauce too has just a hint of vinegar and a hint of jalepeno.

Eden West Food Truck offers a menu that changes often, featuring fresh and hearty dishes made with ingredients sourced from their own farm. While the food is solid and satisfying, some customers feel that there's room for more creativity in the offerings. For instance, while the fries are fantastic, some wish for more elevated condiments to accompany them. However, it remains a good choice for food when paired with the excellent drinks available at Desert Door.
Very fresh and solid food. Frequently changing menu based on what’s available from their farm. I wish things were a touch more creative though. For example, the fries are fantastic but the aioli is just average and the ketchup is Heinz. If they elevated the little things, it would make it worth the price. Nonetheless, it’s suffices as the food option with the amazing drinks at Desert Door.

Italian restaurant
Trattoria Lisina is a charming Italian restaurant located in Dripping Springs, Texas. It offers a casually elegant setting where guests can enjoy wood-fired pizzas and other authentic Italian dishes. The restaurant shares its property with Duchman's Wines, providing visitors with the opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings. Guests can indulge in delectable offerings such as calamari, Margherita pizza, brick chicken, French fries, and lasagna with meatballs.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Trattoria Lisina. I had my wedding reception here in August and it was AMAZING! I worked with Ashton who is so kind. I dropped off all the decor for the wedding the day before and gave her pictures of how I wanted things to be set up and when I walked into the reception space I was so happy. The restaurant did a wonderful job setting everything up. Service was amazing and all my guests RAVED about how the food was. They boxed everything up at the end of the night so everyone had plenty of leftovers. Not to mention, the cake. WOW. So delicious and they charge half of what other bakers do for wedding cakes and it was BEAUTIFUL. They let us use their adjacent property for our wedding photos which turned out so beautiful. I love this place.

Fine Italian dining nestled in the Driftwood hills. You cannot go wrong with Trattoria Lisina. Had my anniversary dinner here recently along with many other occasions, special and spontaneous alike. The atmosphere is spectacular and the food is delicious. Authentic Italian dishes, extensive wine selection and full bar with signature cocktails. The management and staff are attentive and courteous. Desserts are prepared fresh daily. There is nothing lacking here. My favorite seating is the dining area with vineyard views, and I highly recommend the Osso Buco. Give them a visit, you will leave satisfied and be back again!

Everything about this place is incredible — the atmosphere, location, vibe, service, food, and staff all stand out. I’m giving it four stars instead of five only because the vegetarian options are a bit limited. Just a heads-up: it’s on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it.
Vivek P — Google review
Great location in the Hill Country amongst the vineyards. The service is good and attentive. The food is more American than Italian. We shared a mushroom pizza. It was ok but not great. The fried calamari were crispy, hot and fresh. The grilled asparagus salad was runny and wilted. I would definitely not order it again. The wine selection is decent and well priced. The complimentary birthday dessert is a nice touch. We shared the Tiramisu and it was yummy. Apparently there is a "no hat policy" inside the restaurant, even for women. This was a bit off-putting especially if one is undergoing chemo, hormonal issues and is trying to cover up hair loss...
Janna K — Google review
This place does not disappoint. We traveled in from Dallas and definitely reccomend making a reservation. We were seated quickly and our server Colton V was excellent. For the appetizer we had the calamari. It was fresh...not chewy and the marinara they made with it was perfect. The house bread and olive oil were wonderful. We wanted to try several dishes so we would have some to take back to our air b and b. The best dish we had was the red snapper special with risotto, it was cooked perfect and packed with flavor. The close second was the ribeye that was so tender and wood fires might I add it melted in your mouth. Very good cut of meat prepared with mouth watering mashed potatoes. The gnocchi was absolutely amazing and is a must try. I highly recommend this place and our server was excellent.
Ryan C — Google review
We came here for a birthday dinner and had the most wonderful evening. This beautiful restaurant is owned by the same husband and wife duo behind Mandola’s — but it’s a more refined, elevated experience in every way. Even in the rain, the venue was absolutely stunning. Elegant, warm, and inviting — the perfect setting for a special night out. Our server, James, was phenomenal: attentive, knowledgeable, and made the entire evening feel effortless. The food was just as impressive as the service. We started with the calamari and caprese salad — both fresh and flavorful. For our mains, we ordered the seafood risotto, steaks, and the fish of the day — every dish was cooked to perfection, beautifully plated, and rich in flavor. We ended the night with a round of gelato and tiramisu, which were just as delightful. Bonus for all the moms out there: the women’s restroom has the most thoughtful setup — a changing table stocked with diapers, wipes, and other essentials. It’s such a small detail, but it speaks volumes about how much this place genuinely cares for their guests. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an unforgettable Italian dining experience, this place delivers on every level. We can’t wait to return!

Duchman Family Winery, located in Driftwood just a half-hour away from Austin, specializes in producing Italian wine varieties using grapes harvested locally from Texas. Visitors can take a tour of the winery and sample their wines inside an elegant Italianate villa, including Vermentino which has won awards for its quality. For those who prefer beer, Austin Beerworks' North Austin warehouse offers weekend tastings with live music and local food truck bites that create a relaxed backyard barbecue atmosphere.
Enjoyed a tasting at Duchman Winery, very nice. Wine service provided by Richard. He was knowledgeable and shared some of the rich history as he poured some very good wines. The Montepulciano and Aglianico are my go-to wines. Tried the Canto Felice for the first time. Enjoyable with a semi-sweet taste, but not too much. The winery was very nice and a great place to spend the afternoon. It's not surrounded by other wineries. That's a good thing.

August 2024 Duchman Family Winery is a nice and charming winery where can enjoy wine tasting and have a kitchen where can order a pizza. I come here often and always walk out with a bottle of wine to take home. I like their product and can buy a bottle and sit under the big oak trees in front to enjoy it. The staff working here are very friendly and plenty of parking in front.

I had a wonderful experience at Duchman Family Winery. The setting is absolutely beautiful—nestled in the Texas Hill Country, it offers a peaceful, scenic atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. The wines themselves were impressive. The staff was knowledgeable, welcoming, and happy to guide us through the tasting with interesting insights about each varietal and the winemaking process. The tasting room is elegant yet inviting, and the surrounding grounds make for a lovely place to linger. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or just looking for a serene getaway, Duchman is well worth the visit. I’ll definitely be back!

The best experience with Richard and Samantha. Richard was so knowledgeable of the wine and pairings with food. He is witty, engaging and a really great person. He had great stories of how he got started and made us feel like family. Found out we had a lot in common- Great experience. Samantha is amazing, warm, friendly, engaging and just overall lovely. Will HIGHLY recommended the winery to friends and family. My birthday was one for the books celebrated there. Also, their pizzas are to die for and learned ingredients are shipped from Italy. Overall just an incredible experience!!!! Bravo!!!!👏🏼

Very nice place. Loved the atmosphere!! There were awesome cars outside that we went to see. Food was good - we’ve gotten the pizza and the humas + pita. We played a number of board games and relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. Wine was really good and a reasonable price. Nice area overall - would definitely recommend when in the area!!

I had so much fun setting up this birthday picnic. I have had several birthdays here and have just always loved this venue. I own a mobile bar/luxury picnic business called pouring on the go and I was so happy when my client decided to use this location as her picnic spot. It’s so beautiful here, the staff is always friendly and the facility is a clean bathroom etc.. the architecture on this place is just a dream and the best part is you can go inside and get a bottle of wine or get some tastings and all their wine is made from 100% grapes from Texas. I hope more of my clients want to use this location because it is just so beautiful and never disappoints, in the staff was really friendly about everything they told us to stay as we wanted no rush can’t recommend more!!

We came here for our daughter's 22nd birthday. It was perfect! We learned so much about wine. They have a standard tasting list, but after talking to us and learning the difference in our palettes, he switched some things so we would have a better experience. Several people jumped in to help and everyone had a kind personality. There was an art show when we went; pleasant surprise! This place is simply lovely!
Tanya M — Google review
This winery is so beautiful, I could live there. The views are breathtaking, and the main house is absolutely impressive, I was so impressed with the property I had to explore it further on my own. They have been operating since 2004 and turned the former residence into a tasting, event and sales space. The sun room and patio are perfect for enjoying a tasting or a bottle of wine among friends. I actually sampled all of the wines on my visit to the vineyard, of course my preference is red, but I found many of the whites quite refreshing. Although the pool is no longer used for swimming, it makes an excellent backdrop, stop in and set a spell! Cheers!

Park
Nature & Parks
Camp Ben Mc Culloch is a beloved destination for both children and adults. Its main attraction is the opportunity to swim in natural springs, which provide fresh drinking water. The park also offers a fun rope swing and hosts an annual car show. However, due to Texas's drought, the water levels may be low at times. Nevertheless, visitors still enjoy this place for its rocky areas that add charm to the overall experience. Families with young kids can also have a great time here.
Nice little quiet park. Feels like a hidden gem in driftwood. Right across from the salt lick.
Jennifer B — Google review
This place is very old and poorly maintained if you're RVing. We could not pull our RV through most of the spaces because there was so many low-lying trees and overgrowth. There are no facilities to speak of but obviously that doesn't bother some people cuz there's a lot of people here after we arrived. The bathrooms were poorly lit especially when you're going in there at night. The spaces are poorly (or not) marked so you don't know where you're supposed to be going? We were given the wrong information about the cost per night from someone who frequents this place often. We could not get any responses out of anyone by phone or email prior, so if that's important to you, just know that in advance Otherwise it's a pretty spot to visit if you're not camping there.
James M — Google review
The parking situation is not clearly marked but it's a beautiful area. The creek was great for kids to play in.
Jennifer T — Google review
Nice place, very pretty, fun rope swing....have to watch out for poison ivy, broken glass & (fish hooks in water) there's no sewer hook ups for campers either.
Tabatha T — Google review
This place is nice in the sense it has a creek that's nice. Has electric and water and camping for tents and RVs. The bathrooms are ok, the toilets leak and the shower had bunch of dirt and leaves everywhere, it made me rather just use wipes until done camping. Also tent camping has always been $15 or $20, but apparently they went up to $30 March first says a sign on their gate but the website still says $20. So it was a little bit of a shock for $90 for tent camping for 3 nights. Especially when I've tent camped many places including beautiful places in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico, with crystal clear rivers and amazing views and never paid $30 for tents. It's been a favorite in the past but if I'm paying $30 it needs to pick up the slack.
Jessica L — Google review
Great place to take the kids for an afternoon. The creek smells a bit but it's a free adventure so keep expectations low.

Our Family has its reunion here every June. During that time only our family, and friends are allowed in the park. Otherwise it is open two the public, and a really nice place to go to.

Sharla was the best host we had at the wine tasting. She had so much knowledge about the wines and made it an amazing experience for us all. It was great for people who didn’t know much about the wines or tasting experience. We loved the winery!!

Just had the best time at Falls Creek Vineyard. The wine tasting was such a fun little sample and I totally recommend getting a bottle of Chenin Blanc, delicious! The service was the best part, Sergio, Mateo and Dominga were the sweetest and made us even more excited for our time in Austin with their recommendations! We will definitely be back, thank you !

I enjoyed my visit to Fall Creek Vineyards. I had Reserve Tasting and my favorite of the flight was the Chez Rosé. The tasting experience was exceptional. The host was wonderful, very friendly, and kept up with all my questions and conversation, making the experience engaging. The tasting room was cozy, and despite the garden being closed, it was a great, intimate spot to enjoy the wine. Highly recommend stopping here!
Roxana C — Google review
We came to do a tasting and had the most AMAZING experience on a cold and rainy day. We sat by the fire place on a sofa while the most adorable and kind server walked us through the wines. We laughed. We sipped. We loved the wines too! It was perfect and couldn’t recommend enough!
Allie R — Google review
We stayed two nights at the little annex just by the winery. We had the place and the garden to ourselves in the evenings. A very romantic place and also very good wine. Especially the mixed red reserve, that was excellent together with the also brilliant bbq we had aceoss the street. Ther is no breakfast though so that you have to bring yourself. Which is fine since there is a small fridge.
Johan N — Google review
Visited with a group day tour. They corralled everyone from the tour together at a single table on the enclosed patio. Unless you wished to purchase a souvenir glass, service was offered in plastic cups, even if you ordered wine by the glass. My friend noted that there was plastic debris floating in their cup. The server was non-chalant when this was initially pointed out, simply replacing the cups. Self service water was available in plastic cups. Spittoons were not offered for the tasting. The signature blend — Meritus — was served from a newly opened bottle without any aeration or decanting. It was closed, tight. The server asked how it was — and I shared that it was closed and asked how long they typically recommend it be decanted. She said “as long as possible” and said it was a “young bottle” that would have improved with age. A $27 glass of disappointment. Service was cold and impersonal. As we were comparing notes on wrapping up, at least 4 of 11 tour participants noted they had also experienced plastic debris floating in their cups. We mentioned it to the server again as an “oh by the way” safety issue, and she became defensive and said if we had mentioned it earlier she would have removed the items from our bills but it was too late. The bathroom was clean and had two-ply toilet paper, which surprised everyone given the otherwise budget experience. Very disappointing. Do not recommend. Would not return.

We were treated to an extensive history of the property and guide to their wines by our server. The service was excellent. The property is inviting and lovely. The Mission wine is delicious and memorable. Fall creek overall has been one of our favorite experiences of our many trips to the Austin area. Cheers!

Brewery
Food & Drink
Nestled in the heart of Texas, Twisted X Brewing Company operates a 3-barrel pilot system brewery and offers tours of its production facility upon request. The brewery is renowned for its handcrafted small-batch craft beers made from carefully sourced high-quality ingredients. Visitors to the tasting room can sample an array of unique brews, including the popular Tex Mex Beer lineup featuring creations like Cow Creek Tex Mex Dark Lager and Fuego, a jalapeno pilsner.
Stopped by unplanned on a Sunday afternoon while heading home from Austin. Bartenders were very friendly and helpful in explaining their different beers and finger foods. There weren't any food trucks this day, so tried the Fat Boy and Turkey Wrap for some bites and the Nutty Brown for a drink. The Nutty Brown was a nice Dunkelweizen with a strong taste of peanut butter. The Fat Boy was surprisingly good as it was cream cheese with a nice kick to it. On the enclosed patio, there was live music and a few sitting benches. Outside, there were several sitting areas and games to play. It was a cold day and I was just passing through, so didn't stay long, but will come back when things warm up. Definitely seemed like a nice way to enjoy some drinks, try the food trucks, and listen to live music.
LeWayne B — Google review
Nice guy tending. Allowed a taste of a couple beers. Nice outdoor area (also for kids to run around). Not a lot of room inside. Only issue I see is there are very few selections of beer and they are okay. Nothing really worth mentioning.
Brett N — Google review
What a great spot to spend the afternoon. I really like the transition from indoors to outdoors wit the the roof and misters and sun cover. Live music on a Sunday afternoon. Good beer (I personally favor the IPA and Double IPA). Lots of cute dogs. A food truck in the back. They’ve hit the formula just right for a nice afternoon
Eric W — Google review
Great vibe, lots of seating (mostly outside). Plenty of shaded spots and plenty of mist machines. Good beer. Very chill spot to just get out of the house and outside to relax with friends. If you’ve got an airstream, there are about 10 camp spots within a stones throw (literally 40 yards and it’s all airstreams :)). Affluent area and not a place for college bs, its a nice place to relax. Occasional live music. Open guest WiFi. Decent amount of parking but I could see them running out - so share a ride!
J — Google review
One of a few breweries in the area. The property is very large, quaint, and quiet. Picturesque spot in hill country. Lots of seating outside with some options inside. A small tap list but everything was good. Most people were bringing their own food/snacks they did have a few small bites to choose from but no food trucks on site. Staff were friendly and attentive and went table to table to check on everyone which is hard to find these days.
Jennie J — Google review
It was really fun stopping here while we were visiting Dripping Springs this Sunday. We thought we would just stop for a quick snack and ended up staying a few hours. I had the Gulf Kolsch and my wife had the McConauhaze. The food was also great. The twisted fries and the fish tacos are worth trying when you stop here.
Hayden W — Google review
This brewery has it - amazing beers and a great vibe inside and out! Not too far outside of Austin, this was a great stop for a visitor from out of state. Found my personal new favorite Hazy of all time - McConauhaze! Had a great time enjoying flight with a great patio area for a group! Highly recommend!!
Andy G — Google review
If I had to watch Michigan lose to Ohio State, I’m glad it was here. This brewery has an awesome vibe and great beer. The live music was actually really good, and while that may change from day to day, I doubt the good times and good people do. Play a game of corn hole, compete in giant jenga, or just enjoy the sunshine with a few close friends. You really can’t go wrong at Twisted X Brewing.

The quaint interior adds to the charm of this place, where you can enjoy a delightful breakfast or coffee. We love this place for brunch! They offer a great variety of options but our favorite is the breakfast sandwich croissant with pesto and mozzarella, eggs and bacon! Support local!

This is a great place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was incredibly delicious and fresh, with an impressive variety of pastries to choose from. We had a wonderful time here. The interior design is cozy and charming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. However, one thing we really did not appreciate was the unexpected 3% fee added when paying by credit card. It should not be the customer’s responsibility to cover processing costs. If a business chooses to accept credit cards, the added expense should be factored into their pricing, not passed on to the guest. This left a negative impression after an otherwise lovely experience
Elena L — Google review
My friend and I visited this bakery/cafe a couple of weekends ago. It's a cute place located in a small bungalow. Very charming. Unfortunately, the food we had did not live up it's reputation. The scones (which I was looking forward to taste) were very dry and difficult to finish. Both my friend and I agreed on this. The lady behind the counter, although very friendly, was a bit overwhelmed trying to serve and ring customers all by herself. She should get help. Overall, not a very bad experience but not living up to the buzz. Sorry to say. I really wanted to like it. Chef Alain Braux

Amazing food and very friendly service. Beautiful selection of delicious croissants with all types of add-ons. The breakfast croissant was mouth watering. The Ham and cheese pockets were so savory. We all tried a variety of food and all of it was 10/10

Cozy, Busy, and Delicious — A Great Breakfast Spot We went here for breakfast on a weekend, and even though it was pretty packed, we were still able to find a table for our family. They had a high chair ready for our daughter, which made things so much easier. The staff was friendly, attentive, and kept things moving smoothly despite how busy it was. The food was fresh and delicious—especially the ham and cheese sandwich with pesto. It was perfectly made and full of flavor. Everything tasted homemade and thoughtfully prepared. The place has that true mom-and-pop feel with a quaint, comfortable charm that makes you want to come back. Overall, a great experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be returning!

THEY USE OLIVE OIL!!!! Even the day old chicken sasuage croissant sandwich, that's half off BTW, is amazing! Great hot latte! $32 for latte, half off sasuage sandwich, Belgian waffle and a breakfadt croissant sandwich. Best waffle I've ever had! No syrup or butter required! Light & fluffy with just a hint of sweetness!

Restaurant
The sandwiches and fries at Turcotte, a Butchers & Delicatessen restaurant, were incredible. I highly suggest giving it a try if you're willing to take your food to-go because the interior was excessively hot. The final photo captured my seat after I stood up, revealing an unusual level of perspiration in a restaurant setting. My father ordered the Reuben sandwich, while my husband and I shared the Cheesesteak; both dishes were enormous and scrumptious.
This place is a fantastic gem in Dripping Springs. My sandwich was LOADED and one of the best cheesesteaks I have had outside of Philadelphia. (Also tried my friend's French dip and it was so juicy!) The fries and onion rings were also amazing. Skip the chains... come here.
Kinu P — Google review
Great restaurant. It was a little odd to find a way to walk from the holiday inn but it's feasible. My Reuben sandwich was great and their fries are nice. I love their pay it forward board for people that can't afford a meal.

My husband and I stopped in while traveling from Connecticut. Was interested in supporting our fellow New Englanders. The place was busy with customers as well as take out orders. The three staff members did a great job, were seamless in their service. The food was plentiful and fresh. Flavor was great and portions large.

Visiting a friend and she took me to this gem of a place. I was craving loaded fries which wasn’t on the menu. They graciously asked me what I’d like on my fries and concocted the dish for me. WOW just WOW - the best loaded, messy, decadent fries I’ve ever had. 10 out of 10

Went for lunch and ordered several of the sandwiches and a burger. HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Rachel, as it was so good, so tasty, so cheesy. Yum! The Thanksgiving Sandwich brings back all the delicious holiday feels without the drama.

The sandwiches and fries were AMAZING! I highly recommend trying Turcotte, IF you don't mind taking it to-go because it was VERY HOT inside. The last picture is of my seat when I got up. I've never experienced this inside a restaurant, I was super sweaty!! My dad got the Reuben, my husband and I shared the Cheesesteak, both were huge and delicious! My girls got the kids Meatball with fries. I've never had fries cut like that, they were SO good! The fried pickles were meh.

I moved to Dripping from Austin about a year ago, Austin left me famished for a good sandwich and wow was I not expecting this. Best Philly and fries since my last visit to Philly, and if I even hear the name “Rachel”… I’ve got to get to turcottes that night! Absolutely love this place and the service is top notch! Worth the drive if you’re in Austin!

Had the roast beef sandwich. It was fantastic. Did not do it with BBQ sauce. Went the traditional route cheese, lettuce, tomato pickles, mustard. You might wonder why I give it 5 stars for atmosphere. Well it’s not the nicest place but it reminded me of old school vibe that you would see in the east coast / west coast. Just good food with good people.

Came here for the first time today, December 12th. We had a company Christmas party and it was a great time. It's a nice open facility with a great bar and cool axe throwing area. The outdoor baseball park looks great. The ladies working today were very friendly and helpful.

My company, Salt & Light Events, had the pleasure of working with Orit and her team at Driftwood Axe House for an event last month. Orit is so accommodating, easy to work with and her crew was amazing! If you are looking to host an event, birthday, rehearsal, etc. this is your place, she only charges a bar minimum plus has the BEST caterer recommendation. Highly recommend reaching out to Orit for your next occasion. 10/10!!

The quesadillas, fries and Mac & cheese they catered were delicious!!! Everyone had a fantastic time! Orit and crew made sure we were well accomodated through the entire event. The axe throwing was GREAT!!! I highly recommend this place and will be back!

If you’re looking for a fun, flexible, and truly unique place to host an event, I can’t recommend Driftwood Axe House enough. The owner goes above and beyond—she’s incredibly accommodating and even opened the venue on a day it’s normally closed, just so we could have access for our event. That kind of personal service is rare and deeply appreciated. The space itself is fantastic: there’s a full bar, a great food truck on-site, and of course, axe throwing, which always gets people talking and laughing. It’s such a fun way to bring a group together. They also host Open Mic Night every Thursday, which speaks to how much they support the local community and create space for people to connect, unwind, and enjoy something different. Whether you’re planning a party, a casual hangout, or a community gathering, Driftwood Axe House is a true Hill Country gem.
