OJO CLUB is a popular beachfront spot in the Dominican Republic, offering a variety of activities and entertainment options. Visitors can enjoy authentic Dominican seafood at La Casita de Papi and then dance the night away at the two-story Lax Ojo dance club or other beachfront dance spots like Onnos Bar. The club is known for its lively atmosphere and famous karaoke nights, as well as staying open until early morning with good DJs.
Beautiful spot on the beach. The food is always a generous portion, with plenty of flavor. Service is good, and pretty fast considering how many tables they have. The 299 Burger and fries special is a good deal.
Jane B — Google review
perfect place to eat, just have a drink or play a game and do all of it together :) friendly staff and real good food! order the mini nachos if you're appetite is not as big as that of an elephant! but super delicious! and there was a live dj playing music which made everything even better !
Olivia — Google review
I’m not sure if it was just our table but the constant amount of flies was ridiculous…even while waiting for food. We sat on the beach. The service could be better honestly…so many different people coming to the table just seemed so unorganized. I don’t even have pictures of our actual food because of the wait I was already annoyed. The nachos and bruschetta should not have taken so long to come out… The pizza was okay good enough for the kids. Burgers were decent, and fries fairly seasoned.
Haslyn A — Google review
Right on the beach. Good food. Helpful staff. Free wifi. Decent prices. We love to chill there and go for a dip in the water from time to time. They also have beach beds available.
Mira F — Google review
I love the food at Ojo! They’ve always been pretty consistent with the quality. This was the first time on this trip that we came to eat and the food was great as always, but the service was baaaad! Lol it’s expected that there’s a little wait but no one even came up to our table for 20 minutes. When someone walked by I asked who the waiter was for our table and he said me then again didn’t come back for 5-10 mins. Despite that, he was very friendly and attentive after the initial slowness. We had two cheeseburger specials and a veggie pizza. You can’t beat the cheeseburger special. It’s the best deal on the beach. It’s a bacon cheeseburger with fries for $299rd. The pizzas are really good also! All in all, the service varies I think this visit was just a write off. Def still recommend going !! Also fun at night.
Samantha L — Google review
Night club experience was great. Open air. 2 floors of music. Lots of people.
Olivia R — Google review
The food prices here are so good to be true . You can get so much food and drinks for so cheap . Highly recommend this place on the beach . Staff was nice and food was freshly made . Definitely can’t wait to visit again .
Jordon B — Google review
Been going to Ojo’s for almost 3.5 years, love going here for the variety of food they offer at a great price and the food has been good majority of the times we have been here. It’s right on the beach which is a plus chatting and eating with friends at. At night after around 9pm, it becomes a night club and it’s the only place you want to go to if you want to dance in Cabarete.

Restaurant
Mojito Bar is a reasonably priced beachfront spot in Cabarete, offering an excellent selection of natural juices, healthy salads, Dominican food, and sandwiches. The cozy bar provides a relaxed atmosphere and serves organic and locally sourced ingredients in their all-day breakfast menu featuring waffles, omelets, bagels, paninis, and smoothies. It's a great place to enjoy delicious meals made with fresh ingredients while taking in the beachfront ambiance.
This place was packed when we went but service was good. The yuca arepitas are awesome. The chicken sandwich was good but nothing really stood out about it either. The Mofongo with pulpo was very good. I like mine with garlic sauce, would recommend. Will come back again.
Reina H — Google review
Loved this place. First off, never have we had a passionfruit daiquiri made with the actual, local fruit. It was a revelation! Unbelievably good! Fried chicken wings were crispy and tasty, and you can choose sauces to go with them. Fried sweet plantains were perfect. The nachos were just ok (don't recommend them). Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Service took a while, but it was packed, so there wasn't much to do about that. This restaurant has a really large drink and food menu. It is kid/family friendly, and it's extremely likely everyone in your party will find something they like.
Alexandra J — Google review
I would give this place zero stars if possible. Cabarete generally has very high quality food and restaurants. This place stands out for how crappy it is. Service is essentially non-existent. Super slow. Not attentive. The food is lousy too. Really bland. Poor quality. Unimaginative. Just generally crappy. It’s nice to sit by the beach in the shade, but you can do the same thing at every other place along the beach in Cabarete and have good food with generally good service. It’s also overpriced. Much better options along the whole strip. Pretty disappointed to spend one of my lunches out of a five day trip here. Go elsewhere. Yuk.
Daniel R — Google review
Service was slow. Waited all most 5 minutes before the wait staff took my order. Order the whole fish ,and a coke. The fish was great...
Tyrone D — Google review
Wow wow wow is all I can say Mojitos has it going on. I would give them 6 stars across the board if I could. We been there twice (edit many times now and i can recommend the friends platter as well now) and everything was through the roof food, service, atmosphere and huge Drink selection. We have 3 times now ordered the bacon wrap shrimp it comes with guacamole just amazing flavour. Also the Mexican Salad full of ingredients; Tomato, cucumber, black olives, Cellery, lettuce plus cubed chicken and blanketed in amazing tasty shredded Cheddar cheese again Off The Hook flavour. We used some of the guacamole from the shrimp to mix in.. oh my! The other dish we've tried was the chicken and fries with blue cheese dip. The chicken is rolled in an amazing crispy coating and the most tender chicken you could have..we cut it with a fork. Dipping this all in the blue cheese was simply one of the best foods ive tasted in awhile. The fries on this btw were cooked perfectly crispy and hard to believe fries and crispy chicken could taste sooo good! Everything coming out of the kitchen looked astonishing. Of course we will return Theres several options separate happy hours for drinks. Check all the food and drinks options in my included menus pics. Plus pics of our food we ordered If this review helps you please give a like.

I loved this place! Great food, great environment, great drinks and excellent prices!
Nathaly T — Google review
We had a great experience at Mojito! We ordered some papaya daiquiris and fried red snapper. Daiquiris were delicious, and the red snapper was fried perfectly with delicious crisp skin. The snapper is priced per pound and we were told that typical sizes to order are 1lbs or 1.5lbs. we each ordered a 1lbs fish and based on the bill they were each just slightly over (they bill by actual weight of each fish). 1lbs is a good size for a single person, but would also be good to share if ordering other food.
Robert N — Google review
The main bartender and his band of helpers are absolute gems. Couldn’t be more thankful for their devoted service (and unrivaled patience). They are the true heart and soul of this place. They take food and drink orders, make the drinks fast and strong, and work through various language barriers and swarms of crowds of tourists and locals alike. We were there for NYE (and subsequently were there 3 more times) because of the service and drinks mainly. The food was very good as well, just took a bit to come out. The pescado frito con tostone and the ceviche de camarones were actually quite good. The camarones latino was the sleeper meal, as it was sweet and sour (fresh pineapple, avocado, and mustard to name a few ingredients) all paired so nicely together. Drink specials are excellent and strong as well. The locals that come here are also extremely easygoing and welcoming (especially Yvonne, a singer in a band well-known around the town, I swear the woman knew everyone and was a staple at the end of the bar). Don’t bother with the rest of the other restaurants on the beach. This is an excellent spot to get the real feel of a Cabarete beach bar. Positive point: try and get your seat at the bar style seats facing the water, they are very popular but for good reason.

One of the few restaurants in Cabarete that has good service. The prices are good and the food is okay. The seats are comfy and you have a great view of the beach!

Large margaritas are great. We got the frozen chinola without the beer. Large loaded nachos , not so large, not so loaded, but still good. Priced are normal compared to the states. Didn't feel like it was a great dea (price wise ), but being by the beach, with good service, I was happy. Service was fast and friendly.

Playa Cabarete, also known as Cabarete Beach, is a picturesque stretch of coastline in the Caribbean that offers a variety of activities for visitors. The beach is ideal for swimmers of all abilities due to its frequently calm waters and shallow shore, making it suitable for families with children. In addition to water activities, Playa Cabarete is renowned as the Caribbean's hub for windsurfing, kiteboarding, and sailing.
Super nice large stretch of beach. Lots of area to swim, kite, or any water activity. The sand is wonderfully soft and the width of the beach is great. Hardly even a rock in sight! The beach is overall only partially developed so there’s a lot of space to set up and spread out. Not so crowded in some areas which is really nice. When it’s windy though, it can be pretty busy with kiters, windsurfers, wing foilers, and more!

One of the most beautiful beaches on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. This beach has many activities to keep you busy all day. There are many restaurants and bars for dinning and having your favorite drink. So plan your next vacation to DR and visit the North Shore.
Christopher P — Google review
Playa Cabarete is definitely on of the best beaches in Dominican Republic, I strongly recommend it, if you want to relax the beach is really spacious, here there is not need to be close to other people, it’s great for wind surfing, if you want to enjoy of a long walk this is the place, you can walk for an hour without getting to the end. There are restaurants and bar. Just a suggestion if you want to rent chairs and umbrella check with different vendors first, some are lot more expensive than others.

Food here is good most of the time. Been to this restaurant at least 6 times in the last 2 years. Last 2 times the food was not as good. My Club sandwich my bread was barley toasted and another night i had chicken wings and it tasted too dry and my French fries tasted like old oil which gave me a bad stomach ache for 24h. . It a shame i really like the food here and the atmosphere it great to watch the local band play. But I am willing to give them another chance on my next vacation back in the Dominican republic.

Food was good, service was excellent and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. When we first got there the place was empty and we were a bit leery but we decided to sit and eat and we had a good time. Everyone complaining about how slow they are, has to understand this is not America and the people here are on “Caribbean time”. If you can grasp that concept you’ll do just fine. The drinks were great too.

Good option for standard fare hamburgers and seafood. The caipirinha pitcher had a good amount of booze. The view is amazing.

Vagamundo Coffee & Waffles is a popular spot in Cabarete, offering a variety of decadent Belgian waffles and smoothie bowls to satisfy post-surf cravings. Beyond the delicious food and artisanal coffee, this quaint cafe also hosts activities like painting classes and live music sessions.
We visited Vagamundo several times while in Cabarete. Enjoyed the flat white, several waffles (favs were Graceland & Florence). GF waffles available. Liked the mangús best. Fast & free WiFi was available. Super chill vibe to relax after a morning of surfing or to get some work done. Lots of seating indoor and out.

The atmosphere is wonderful at Vagamundo in Cabarete. There are lots of cozy places to sit, even to work on your laptop, and a nice area with toys for children to keep occupied. I had a matcha latte that was fine. I would definitely come back to try items on the menu that other reviewers rave about.

By far my favorite coffee shop in the Dominican Republic. The service is fast, even when there are crowds, which I’ve only seen once. The ambient is earthy, clean, and friendly. Their food isn’t overly sweet and there are many options for less sugar or even unsweetened.

Stopped in for coffee and waffles at Vagamundo and ended up staying longer than planned! The coffee was perfectly balanced, with rich flavor without bitterness and the waffles were golden, fluffy, and served with just the right amount of sweetness. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere had that easy Cabarete beach-town vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

JoAna O — Google review
Service was good, The place is beautiful definitely a great place to get work done but dear lord don't eat here. I got a protein bowl and it was the driest chicken i've ever had at a restaurant, as if it was leftovers and left in an air fryer for an hour. The avocado and bacon bits also tasted hard and not fresh. The waffles weren't a terrible taste but i would not describe them as waffles because of how rock hard they were. So unless you want an ínstense jaw workout, maybe just stick to a drink.

We are from Canada and this is definitely one of the best places to eat breakfast and lunch. The coffee is incredible and they give you a massive cup...unlike most of the other places here in Cabarete. The air conditioning is also wonderful lol. Great vibe and friendly staff. A percentage of their profits go to the Mariposa foundation which creates a model that can be adopted around the world for a holistic girls' education and empowerment program to end generational poverty. Love this place ❤️🙏

I came here for a cappuccino because it had good reviews. Unfortunately, the cappuccino was served in quiet big cup and tasted like milk only with no foam so it was more like late. I also ordered chocolate croissant but it was not fresh at all. It tasted like it was few days old. Totally not eatable ! So I spent 380 pesos ($7) for nothing. For this price I would expect better quality.

The food was quite alright but unfortunately not all of the staff was nice. We were charged for wrong things (but later on got the money back) or got double charged for the raspberries on the oatmeal, although we didn't ask for more or double portion of them. With the oatmeal we only got honey and they didn't give us cinnamon or the maple syrup (as stated in the menu) nor did they ask which of these 3 we wanted.

Best coffee I've had all trip! Food was delicious and well priced compared to the other places we've been. Service was quick and friendly! This may be the only restaurant we plan on visiting more than once on our vacation. Highly recommend the ham panini croissant and surfers supreme ❤️

Coffee on a Mission! My total go to roadside cafe while visiting Cabarete. Always delicious and fresh food served with a smile. Coffee & food that is good to taste, good for the earth & good for the people who grow it! Love their croissants, avocado toast and tuna salad to name a few. 6 stars in my book!

I came here almost every single morning during my study abroad trip. The surfer supreme is AMAZING—fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade granola, and more. The staff is so friendly. I can’t wait to come back!

We tried the food with the Komida delivery service, and it was so good that we started walking to the restaurant every morning for breakfast. The smoothies are so good, and the bowls are tdf. Great atmosphere and very enjoyable. Get the Mango Detox Smoothie when you come!

An absolute gem! Make sure you don’t miss out on checking this place out. We’ve been returning here every day, sometimes couple times a day. Favorite breakfast spot. One of the best omelets I had. Though they also offer amazing lunch and dinner too. Food is delicious, fresh and healthy. They care about their ingredients—their motto is you’re what you eat. There are lots of gluten free options/GF substitutions and organic options. They have delicious local coffee, and even offer bulletproof coffee—with MCT oil and ghee. Atmosphere is fantastic. Always a good vibe. Super friendly staff — they will make you feel like you’re coming home. Best thing — they have an absolutely incredible live music every Saturday morning! Make sure you don’t miss on that!

I really like the relaxing and casual ambiance of the covered deck area in the back. I always enjoy their smoothies and juices. I find the food misses the mark a bit. It's ok for a small/light, healthy bite.

I started going to Fresh Fresh when they opened and I lived in Cabarete. It was always one of my favorites, so coming back to Cabarete visiting fresh fresh my first day and bringing my family was a must. I’m so happy to see they’re still doing great, the food is still delicious and the staff is friendly and great as well. We had the Vietnamese chicken sandwich, Acapulco salad with chicken, a Buddha bowl and the yucca fries and we were all very pleased with our choices. The meals are filling, but you don’t feel heavy and overstuffed from their food unlike a lot of other places in Cab. Totally recommend this being a top of the list place to hit when you visit Cabarete.

Super nice place, the interior is very pleasant. We had the crepe with nutella and banana and it was super delicious. Inside the crepe was the whole banana. Also the staff was very nice, friendly and polite. Highly recommend this place. In addition to everything, they have a small "shop" at the entrance - you can buy there many stuff for good prices.

Cozy, nice and quiet place to be at with lovely staff an ambiance. Th3 variety of possible smoothies is awesome, yet they'll make you any other request you'll want out of the menu. Delicious and healthy food are in the menu as well. They also sell a variety of teas, drinks, desserts and a variety of wellness lifestyle essentials.

All around great place to come to while visiting Cabarete!! Their pizza is Amazing, they have good drinks and on some nights music or open mic. We went on a Wednesday and really enjoyed the open mic night. The drummer for the whole time we were there was young boy who was extremely impressive and will definitely go far with music! We had two pizzas- the serrano and arugula pizza and a pepperoni and corn pizza (yes, weird but I started getting it at hexenkessel after the bars) years ago and had to do it) . I would definitely go back for the food, drinks and vibes!

We moved here a little less than a year ago from the NY area and we have been on a quest to find NY style pizza. Our search is over. This has been the best pizza here hands down. In fact it was better than 90% of the NY pizza’s that I have ever had. Thin crust with a great crust crisped just right baked to perfection in a stone oven. Don’t think twice before trying it. You will not be disappointed.

Quick delivery for $100 pesos, will take order from a text msg from Whatsapp although call if you dont hear back in 5 min to remind them. Tue, Wed open Mic you'll see locals, tourists, Expats and you getting up to the mic. The local band can support singer or player. Its a fun nite out very safe neighbourhood. Open Mic starts at 8 pm. This place is in "the hood" in Cabarete. It's a perfectly safe neighborhood where the locals live. The pizza is really good. The drink and pizza prices are good. The atmosphere is fantastic. They have open mic night where locals play music. The stage and the local entertainment is great. I highly recommend the place for a pizza and a drink. If you're a tourist check it out one night

La Chabola, in the Callejón of Cabarete, is the perfect spot for a relaxing, family-friendly Sunday. A simple yet lively place where great music and delicious food create a unique experience. The pizza is spectacular, though it can take some time depending on demand—but it’s always worth it. The live music is top-notch, and on Tuesdays, the open mic brings together talents from all over in a warm, multicultural atmosphere. Without a doubt, my favorite place to enjoy great music and vibes in Cabarete.

Las Cuevas de Cabarete, located near the heart of the beach town of Cabarete, are part of El Choco National Park. The park offers easy hiking trails through a protected forest and ancient Taino caves with impressive stalactites. One cave even has a lagoon that's said to be one of the deepest in the country, attracting professional certified cave divers. Visitors can enjoy personal tours with knowledgeable guides who share insights about the caves and local plant life.
We visited the park during a very rainy time. It was a beautiful hike and the caves were nice. We were able to swim in two of the caves. Our guide Steven was great.

It's the DR. This attraction is in a very poverty stricken area and may make some people uncomfortable. This place could be so much more if the DR put time and money into it. Myself wife and daugther visited 3 caves the rest were unsafe to tour/ closed. 1 had no power and we used our cellphone flashlight so Im assuming that one will be closed soon also. Most of the place is in various states of disrepair, neglect and exterme caution should be used in the caves. Admission was a bit suspect...20 USD a person and 17 USD a child under 11. However fourm I signed which was in spanish. Im assuming a safety forum said price was 700 DOP that was paid but our braclets said cost was 100 DOP each. Overall like others stated its not per say worth the admission but it helps support a area that is neglected from my perpesctive. For us its a one and done experince.
Jed1590 — Google review
The caves were fun. Unfortunately the power was out in the first cave. I wish we had used our phones so we could have seen it, but we didn't think of that until later. The tour gets better as you go and last two caves were the highlight and we had plenty of time swimming. Tons of fun. The guide told us lots of people come to go bird watching, and there were lots of birds high in the canopy. Bring bug spray!
Adrian W — Google review
My wife and I had the most amazing time here. Our guides were Hanser and Lenny and they took the time to show us all the different plants, take us to all the caves, take some videos and pictures of us while we swam in the caves, and went at the paces which we needed. They were very knowledgeable about the animals, plants and geology of the area and made it one of the best and most memorable things we did in the DR! I would highly recommend them to anybody that is in the area, you will have an amazing time!

We enjoyed our tour very much. Our guide Alan impressed us with his extensive knowledge of the local plant life and was also able to share fascinating details about stalagmites and stalactites aswell. He spoke with great insight about the Taino culture and guided us with kindness. We don‘t speak Spanish so Alan‘s perfect English made everything really understandable which we greatly appreciated. We can wholeheartedly recommend a visit to anyone!!

My husband and I took our family here today, three small children and my parents. It was AMAZING. So fun to see all the natural plants from the Dominican Republic. John’s Jungle is insane— super cool to see what he discovered, the business he made and what’s left of it. The caves were magical! My children were able to traverse all three caves. One was very steep and dark. The last one, frog cave was BEAUTIFUL. The water was refreshing, the stairs to go down were secure. It was a beautiful excursion. Alan was a lovely guide, very knowledgeable and kind. July shared with us his dream to bring further education to the children in the neighborhood. A must visit! Be prepared to sweat and bring water shoes/hiking sandals.

Was out for brunch and decided to wait a few minutes for them to open, completely worth it. Everything I had was top notch; juice, soup, and sandwich. The flavors and spices were perfectly done. Will definitely visit again. The owner is also very friendly and takes amazing care of everyone.

Dining at Le Bistro felt like dining on a small street in Italy. The atmosphere, food, and service were impeccable and the quality of each dish was outstanding. My husband and I had the French onion soup, beef tartare, seared duck in black pepper sauce, and the sliced steak with blue cheese — everything was absolutely flawless! The duck was perfectly cooked and tender and their specialty potatoes were the perfect combination. However, one of the best parts of the night was our delightful waitress, Aide. She was very attentive, kind, and answered all of our questions. We really enjoyed our experience and noticed her lovely demeanour and wonderful service specifically. I hope to have her as our waitress again next time!! We will definitely be coming back!

Without a doubt, the best meal we have had in Dominican Republic. For French cuisine lovers, this is the spot. Aside from the excellent food, Stephan the owner is so attentive and provides top notch service to his clientele. I had the steak tartare, it was prepared perfectly. One had the 3 cheese cream penne pasta, which was to die for. The other two had the oven baked steak; a unique dish that was also decadent, with "smashed" style potatoes as a side. Thank you Stephan for such a wonder dining experience, we are now regulars!

We had a dinner for 6 here and ordered a variety of dishes. Service was great. Nice setup. Prices were good. These are the positives. We suggest the chef and the owner of the restaurant to soon book a trip to France or any other restaurant in the area to refresh their tastebuds. Food was extremely disappointing. Extremely!!! The duck salad was swimming in vinegar. French onion soup, chicken leg with linguini were absolutely tasteless. Steak tartar was over-seasoned. Pepper sauce with the duck dish left a second degree burn inside of our mouths. Wine selection was awful. Please let us know when you get better and we might come back.

Le Bistro is such an amazing place we came here twice for our 5 days trip! It’s not fancy pretentious food, it’s like the best comfort home cooked French food you can get. I’m from NYC and I don’t particularly prefer French cuisine in the city, but I really LOVED the food at Le Bistro! We will definitely be coming back when we come back to DR for kite surfing again.

I am a French soup aficionado, but I generally don’t finish it all; a few sips is enough for me. But at Le Bistro, I finished it all. It was that good. Will come back in my next trip.

All I can say is WOW, they have a great menu selection and friendly service. I can’t rave enough about the pad tai with shrimp. It arrived steaming hot and was delicious. Good sized portions and the mixed sushi platter is a deliciously great value. Our waiter was quick despite being extremely busy with take out orders (due to rain). We ate outside under the cover of their awning that kept us completely dry. 2 thumbs up for this place for sure and we will return soon to try other menu options. Prices were reasonable for the quality and size of portions I can’t wait for our next meal here

Great service and delicious food. Best sushi in Cabarete, it was so good we had to come back the next day to suffice our cravings.

We found this place at the end of our stay in Cabarete, what meant that I could enjoy its tasty sushi and other fish delights only once. I do like good food and in Cabarete its not a problem, but sometimes I need the portions to still my hunger ,after a day full of sport, to be a bit bigger. Fresh fish, a lot of variations, big portions, nice serving. Not a problem for me, but the tables are basically on a parking lots, facing the main road, what makes it a bit noisier. To balance it out, the prices are very reasonable and the service is very friendly.

A very good Japanese restaurant. Been here a few times. Love the food here. Everything here is good. Love the sushi here. Prices here are from reasonable to a little over prices. For lunch it a steal. It was 385 with tax Dom Rep peso ( 11$ CAD or 7.60$ USD ). In that you get a full course meal. A miso soup and your meal. Just the soup is head or tails. Some days it tastes perfect and other times it tastes too salty. Besides that small thing it a great place to eat. Would definitely come back here again.

A good friend told me this was the best italian place in Cabarete and he was not lying. Even though the place is right next to the road, it did not feel hot (Maybe it could be hotter in the summer). Expect some street noise. The pasta was soft and the sauce fresh. If you want to have affordable and exquisite italian food come to this place. Pet friendly.

The shrimp linguine with Alfredo sauce was awesome. Friendly staff and quick service. Had a bottle of their house white wine and quickly arrived already chilled in a bucket of ice. The stuffed tortellini was a serving of hand made goodness. The restaurant is sectioned into smaller areas for a more intimate dining experience which make for a great couples date night. A little bit higher than your average cost but the quality of their food was worth it

We been here 3 times in couple weeks, the best pica in town! We had Margaritas for kids and Diavolo for us. Just perfect crust, base, topping, cheese, nicely burnt like in Europe. Just simple real Italian pizza. We travel 6 months already in Bahamas, US, Costa Rica and DR and this is really the best pizza we had in 6 months. Thank you 🙌 🇮🇹

We went here with a big group and were nicely sat in a big table. We were excited to see some vegan options on the menu as well. The weather was bad and the place where we were seated was flooding. The owner made his best to make us stay dry. However. The waiter said there were no vegan option available. After talking to the owner there was after all one option available. Seems the communication and knowledge wasn't the strong point. One pizza that was ordered was burnt and we had to wait longer for it than the rest of the food. When asked if there's any recompense we were rudely told that the whole pizza was eaten so apparently it was OK. I would have given 0 stars if possible. The only reason the review is 2 stars is because of the very friendly and hands-on owner. Food was expensive and servings very small. Taste was OK but not in par with the price. The staff was a bit rude and out of the loop.

Top tier service and dishes. Everything was delicious and to our liking. The octopus could’ve used a bit less of the truffle sauce but otherwise very good. The waiter was very attentive and the waitresses were very accommodating. When we had to move inside because of the rain storm they immediately set up a new table for us, and even got a fan for my boyfriend because he was too hot inside. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a romantic or special occasion dinner

My girlfriends and I found this place by mistake; trying to find the condo where we were staying; and that was the best mistake! They happened to be right next to us, so we came back later for something light to dine. The place was almost full and we did not have a reservation, but we were lucky enough to wait a little bit and they found us a nice table. Some might find their prices expensive; but in general we found them fair compared to the quality of everything they offer. We received an outstanding service from Annalisbeth, she was very nice, professional and kind all the time and also made some good recommendations for us to order. The food and drinks were delicious, the restaurant is beautiful and tastefully decorated; and on top of that the sea in the front view gives it a magical touch. The parking is not a problem at all, as they have plenty space. We are definitely coming back and we recommend it. Thank you guys!! 👌🏼 👌🏼

Great food and atmosphere, all the people serving you are very kind and offer you good recommendations based on the fresh catch of the day. We went there twice, we had Langostinos, Ceviche, tuna tartar, shrimps and Langostinos escargots. Everything was really good and with a nice atmosphere on the beach.

Delicious and unique! Everything was very tasty and quite original. We will definitely come back to this wonderful place and highly recommend it!

Do yourselves a favor and Skip Papa’s, low quality tourist trap place… Food- beef not seasoned, very bland, seafood consisted of 2 langostinos and 2 shrimp, lots of mushroom though Service- way understaffed, worst Pina Colada’s I have tasted ever, like the coconut milk was soured. Returned them to get the same awful drink again… waited more than a hour for mediocre tourist trap food. The manager never came to ask how was our dinner. The waiter asked if we will pay cash or credit card. When I presented a Visa card, the waiter stated we only take Mastercard. He left and finally returned disturbed, they uncharged my bill for using a Visa card.

I had shrimp here and it was amazing! Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere cozy. I’ll definitely come back! 🍤

First of all, I would like to highlight the signature shrimp dish. Secondly, the level of service and the politeness of the staff (the manager and the waitresses, unfortunately I don’t remember their names). Working in the restaurant business myself, I can honestly give 4.2–4.5 stars for each point. Here, no one will bother you while you are walking down the street choosing a place to dine. Here, you are served drinks and salad first, and then the main course — not everything at once. I was told the story behind the creation of the shrimp dish — this place has history and soul. You managed to achieve what restaurants in Europe, Asia, and America could not: you satisfied a chef with a very critical style. I will definitely come back next year. You are incredible.

The food was well prepared. Right on the beach in Cabarete. We were given a free bread appetizer with a delicious salsa dip. Staff were accommodating and happy to make our visit a good one. We would go back for sure. I had the seafood plate. Delicious!

This restaurant is located by the water. You can hear the waves in the background. I saw local residents and tourist alike at the restaurant. The menu had all the great dishes from the island. If you are not Spanish speaking, there were many bilingual staff.

Excellent service & kite products at Liquid Blue! I recently got my goggles and a rash guard for kitesurfing, and I couldn’t be happier with the quality. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, making sure I got exactly what I needed. Highly recommend Liquid Blue for all your kiting gear needs!

As a first timer to Cabarete, I was excited to try foiling here. I had great communication before arriving, and during My stay. The crew there are warm, friendly knowledgeable, and expert. They were so encouraging, despite my lack of skills. From gear choice to protective gear like helmets, impact vests, knee pads and sunscreen, they really look after you. Also of value are video tips and lessons on YouTube that they created. A great primer before arriving. Check them out first, and have fun!

Had a good experience learning how to wing foil here. They have great English speaking instructors and convenient location close to the launch spot. Their equipment is top-notch. My partner and I have purchased many kites and other kiting items from here as well. Overall great source of water sport items.

I highly recommend Liquid Blue! I found them online when searching for a place to learn "Wing Foiling". Charles the owner was very helpful in communicating their services. Upon arrival I was paired up with my instructor Jeury. A very patient and experienced instructor. During my 2 week visit to Cabarete, I spent a few hours each day on the water. The last couple days was forecasted for light winds in Cabarete, so Charles kindly organized a guided trip to Punta Ruscia (Three hour drive). Jeury was our guide. We were able to foil the last couple days in Punta Ruscia. The highlight of my experience was a "Downwinder" from Punta Ruscia to Paradise Island. We had a support boat and driver, so my girlfriend was able to join us and do some snorkeling the same day. Personalized service like this is hard to come by these days. I will get back to Cabarete to continue my new found love of Wing Foiling and I will defiantly be using Liquid Blue. Thank you again Charles for all your personal attention and organization as well as a HUGE Thank you to Jeury! Peter Kline, Jackson Hole, Wyoming

You won’t find a better shop or means of support - highly recommend. I just finished five days of wing foil lessons with Charles. He is everything you need in an instructor - the deep knowledge of sport and conditions/location calm demeanor and grace, sincere care and timely input. Really the best of the best. The shop is superb, too! Emerson helped me locate all I needed and more, with expertise and kindness to match. The brands meet function & aesthetic without compromise. You hit the lottery here with great product/services, good vibes and genuine people here to support whatever it is you may need.

Nice shop with most essential staff for water sports. It is also a place to arrange Wing Foiling lessons or rent equipment. Great instructors. Ask for Charles and he will help you not only with arranging water sports but also tips about activities in Cabarete and in the area. Definitely come back again, hopefully next year.

While the food may not be the main highlight, the restaurant offers a diverse menu using locally sourced ingredients and provides a charming atmosphere with friendly staff. On Sundays, locals gather for an open mic night featuring talented musicians playing various genres. The beachfront seating area is perfect for enjoying happy hour drinks like gin and tonic while taking in the beautiful views.
Super chill spot on the beach. Enjoy tasty food while watching people and kites get m the beach. Grab a table right on the beach or sit at the beach front bar. We tried bacon cheeseburger, happy hour mojitos, nachos, and the chilli. Spend the afternoon, watch the sun go down.

They have some good nightlife here from time to time. Personally, I'm not a fan of the food. I had fish tacos that had very little fish and were served with a side of marinara sauce. The quedadilla had hardly any cheese and was quite small.
Jane B — Google review
Voy Voy is a wonderful and laid back place right on the beach. All of the servers are very attentive and friendly. We especially liked Alicia, Jose and Wanda! The food is fresh with many options. You can tell the chef is well trained. The strawberry mojito is made with real strawberry and not syrup. The prices are very reasonable. We visited several times during our stay in Cabarete beach and had a wonderful experience each and every time.

We had a couple of drinks there through the week. Never disappointed. The happy hour makes it the best place for your money. You can do karaoke on certain nights.
William L — Google review
Walked by many emtpy resturants begging us to stop in but were told Voy Voy is the place to be Sundays for open mic. Wish someone warned us about the food. I really dont know how you can compete on the beach with terrible food. Had to ask for Napkins and Forks (fries and salad) didnt matter ate very little my wife more then felt sick to her stomach at home. We ordered drinks and Nachos plus wings at the same time took a long time just for drinks finally asked about the drinks then they brought them. We asked about the food and got a nod cuzz noone understood english. I get it we are in a spanish speaking country but everyone there was Canadian or American thats you clientele. The food was terrible the Nachos had some sort of squeeze on cheese something you might see in a vending machine ( see pic ). The meat if you can call it that was about the same some sort of goo is all i can say to discribe it. The wings were not cut soaked in bbq sauce and not even mediocre. During the waiting for food had 3 beers and a daiquiri total was over 2000 pesos $46 cad they are one of the few resturants we seen here that include the legal 10% cuzz guess what noones tipping for sure. I waited for my change which was only coins as they were not getting more pesos from me. The highlight is open mic come for the music eat before.

I have not eaten here but the drinks are adorable and the karaoke on a Monday night is amazing! So fun and diverse group of singers. Francesca is a great KJ and very beloved by the community. You'll have a great time if you stop in to listen or sing. The staff are very friendly and they sing and participate too!

First to say , i'm a icecream lover. Unfortunaly since i, way to much overweight i cant eat to much icecream and also i couldnt afford to buy to much icecream . if this review would be about the quality of the ice at Heldos Bon , without doubt it would be 5 stars. There is a thing i can't understand since it make bo sense for me . So today was a one of the rare days i need to have icecream , so i ordered a big pot oft the expensive stuff ;-) start to order and after 3 different icecram the lady says oh no you only may choose 3 different kinds . Please give me a reasonable explanation for that . what different does it make if i choose 1 3 or 5 ? Dont get me wrong i was not planning to choose 10 different kinds and i would understand i cant , but realy , 3 sorry no understading for that . so deeply frustrated i left with 2 kindsless i did like to have and no i will not buy one pot more . Even thinking not buying icecream there anymore at all .

Mar y Brassa is a seafood restaurant located in Cabarete, offering a unique blend of Caribbean flavors. Since its opening in 2020, the restaurant has been serving an extensive menu featuring seafood, meat, and pasta dishes. While some have noted occasional variations in quality, the establishment is known for its delicious grilled octopus and decent cocktails. Additionally, Mar y Brassa provides a great happy hour experience with friendly staff right on the beach.
Great place. I recommend it to all. The salmon is very good. And the portion sizes will leave you smiling 😃. The vegetables were so good as they were seasoned to perfection abs tender. I even ate the cauliflower. The drinks: cocktails are awesome 👌🏾. This is a must stop spot in cabarete. The staff was attentive and professional. And it's all right on the beach ⛱️ feet in the sand, looking out into the ocean.

It's hit and miss with food here. We loved it during our visit a few weeks ago so we came back. But the cook has changed and the food was really not good. We ordered the Plato de mariscos for 3 people, and the fish was bad - it smelled rotten. The Caesar salad had weird tasting dressing on it, it was rather sweet. The grilled veggies were undercooked. The drinks were really good though. Upon our complaint about the bad fish they brought us 5 tiny pieces of a different fish to replace the bad ones. Nothing was done about the salad or the veggies though. Not sure we will be back.

Mar y Brassa literally shares a wall with Danny's. It's another beachside restaurant in Cabarete with good food. It's perhaps a notch above Danny's, but there isn't enough of a difference to rate them differently. We got a HUGE mixed platter with fish, seafood, meat, tostones, bread, and fries on the side. It was quite spectacular when they brought it out. It is so large, though they advertise it for 2 people, in reality 3 of us ate from it and there were still leftovers. The food was good and really an interesting mix of things we have never had together before. It was a good "taste of the Dominican Republic" platter. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Kid-friendly.

We had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant in Cabarete, Sosúa! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. I ordered the churrasco and it was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The mofongo was absolutely delicious as well, with the perfect balance of texture and a yummy cheese sauce on top. This spot is a must-visit if you’re in the area – we’ll definitely be coming back!

One of the best if not best beaches we have been to. Walking Cabarete beach is so peaceful and just an honour. People running, excercizing, water sports make it more interesting as well as the many Bars and Resturant which are mainly in the downtown section. The road is close at this point so many of the resturants/bars can be entered from the street and have an inside dinning area that opens out to seating on the beach. Youll find many expat, tourist from Canada, US and abroad. You"ll hear english spoken often with some Fench and a little German at times mixed in with Spanish of course. Frequently the waitresses and bar tenders speak English making it easier for us dummies that cant learn enough Spanish ;) If you want waves theres areas to go at The beach but if you want it more calm you"ll find that too. This makes it very unique and also with the gradgual incline into the water. Walking the many lit up resturants on the beach at night is a must often hearing live music or open mic. Im hoping it dosnt lose its charm bringing in big resorts. If this review helps you please give a like.

Welcoming, relaxed, beautiful, interesting, low light emission: excellent celestial viewing, great prices, decent food, community feel, animal and kid-family friendly. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because there’s currently only one place you can use credit card and the ATM is quite far and has low limits on what you can withdrawal. Also, like most beaches in the world, it could be clean. The kiting always entertains and the wind keeps you cool.

A strong ocean wind harnessed by the adrenaline junkies of all races, creeds and colours. A bohemian gypsy cornucopia of colour, attitude and warmth. Cabarete Kite Point Kiteboarding School offers all-inclusive professional kiteboarding lessons with skilled instructors who provide all the necessary gear. The school's picturesque beach location and excellent communication via WhatsApp make it a top choice for those looking to learn or improve their kiteboarding skills.
Our 10 year old son went from zero experience to kitesurfing in a week. His amazing instructor Luis was patient and motivating. The restaurant is a chill spot to have food and drinks while you wait for the wind to pickup. Tracey is very friendly and sends messages letting you know when the wind picks up. Overall one of the best experiences we had on our vacation.

An incredible experience! Perfect location right on Kite Beach and great breakfast/lunch restaurant right on site. Accommodation and lesson package was very good value. The standard of equipment and instruction was second to none. The dedication and care of the instructors to get me up and riding by the end of my stay was really impressive. Great operation overall and I consider having made new friends at Cabarete Kite Point. Highly recommend! Will be back!

Tracy was extremely helpful in planning my husband and I’s first trip to Kite Beach. It will certainly not be our last! We did the all-inclusive 7-day package, which included accommodation, 9 hours of lessons, and 6 meals. She assisted with everything from airport transportation and hotel arrangements. We stayed next door at the Kite Beach Inn. It was basic, but their hotel manager, Kenny, was very accommodating and friendly. Their instructors were thorough and patient. Wilson, my instructor, is full of experience and couldn't have explained the concepts any better. Unfortunately, we lost a few days due to lack of wind but made up for the time towards the end of our trip. We left there with basic knowledge and techniques that we can use back home and continue our progression. We can’t wait to come back and visit the crew!!

Great experience! The school is fully equipped with CORE gear and has skilled instructors for every level. The spot is great and easy to ride, which makes learning fun and accessible. However, because the conditions are so beginner-friendly, the focus on safety theory and practice might not be enough to prepare you for more advanced or challenging spots.

My husband took a few hour lesson, it was great! He took a lesson before in the Florida keys, and he said this one was night and day better, so much more info and practice. He unfortunately didn’t have enough time to come back to get in the water for more lessons, next trip! The communication via what’s app was amazing, a gorgeous spot on the beach, with a great restaurant. My kids and I enjoyed eating lunch while my husband took the lesson on the beach. Counting down until we get to come back!

Tracy and Jose run a great family business. The communication level was high and they were very helpful in planning every step of our trip from transportation from the airport to the accommodation (we stayed next door to the school at the Kite Surf Inn). Everyone on the staff from the instructors to the folks at the Cocotazo Restaurant were fantastic. Very friendly and fun, everyone's English was at least better than my Spanish. We went for instruction as complete novices. Their instructors and equipment are top notch. All of their kites and harnesses appear to be brand new. The instructors communicate concepts and techniques very well, my instructor Ellie was very patient, teaching this old dog new tricks. I left with a good base of knowledge to continue my progression back here in Florida. We did the all inclusive 7 day package. It was a great value, again the Inn where we stayed was modest and pretty basic, not a luxury resort, but it had a pool, and a fantastic beach front deck. The Inn Keeper Kenny was great and very helpful organizing a couple of late night meals for us and having a service take care of our laundry. The food at the Cocotazo restaurant was simple but the highest quality. You get one meal a day included, and we ate and drank most of our other meals there for the week, fresh smoothies, beer and rum at the end of the day and the prices were very fair, I ran a tab and at the end of the week my bill was $70US, and I put down a lot of food! Not only would I recommend using this school for your training, I plan on going back and taking my children when they get a little bigger. Two thumbs up for sure!

Kite Club Cabarete Kiteboarding School in the Dominican Republic offers a top-notch kitesurfing experience. They provide excellent first aid and ensure a safe learning environment for all ages, even for beginners. A few firsts for me and my family. We've never been out of the country as a family and my girls(10 years old) have never kited before and they aren't exactly out doorsy ppl. I booked them lessons for the week we were here and my girls are now officially hooked. They absolutely loved their lessons. Ralpha and Jose, their instructors really created an environment where they felt safe and had a blast learning. Roberto was incredibly helpful every day helping us coordinate and the entire staff at the kite club was overwhelmingly hospitable. We really felt like we were part of the family there. Kite club has a unique vibe where you can truly relax, unwind and have a good time right on the beach. Amazing food, fantastic cappuccinos and top notch mojitos. Oh yeah if you happen to kite, let's just say it's a Mecca there. I really can't say enough positive things to do it justice, it's an incredible experience you gotta try for yourself. Also special thanks to Doug for giving us great information and tips to really help us get maximum value out of our stay in cabarete.

Few weeks ago I went on kitesurfing trip in DR. I was riding strapless in the outer reef and ended up cutting my feet on a reef near their location. One of the instructors notice that I was limping and came to my assistance. Immediately, he realize the severity of the cut and told me to not worry about my gear it would be taken care of. Once at the school the owners themself administered first aid and explained the severity of getting cut by coral reef (bacterial infection). Not only did they patch me up, they went above and beyond to store my gear and DRIVE me to my resort a few km down the road where we had a Doctor who stitch me up. These guys were obviously extremely cognizant of the danger around them and took safety very seriously. If I was to advise anyone to go learn how to kite in DR this company would be my first recommendation. Thank you Kite Club Cabarete for all you did Next time I'm in DR I'm coming over with a case of beers and cool scars to show off best regards SEABASS

This place is magical in every sense. Jonathan Dodds is literally one of the best kite instructors in the world and his team is exceptional. Kiting in Cabarete is very challenging, but Jonathan makes sure you feel very safe and comfortable. If you’re not into kiting, the bar and restaurant are awesome. The food is absolutely incredible (very fresh, great ingredients, perfect execution) and the music and people create a one-of-a-kind experience. My favorite spot in Cabarete. Highly recommend it.

Save yourself a lot of hassle and just make the Kite Club your go-to launch and apres spot in Cabarete. Rent whatever equipment you left at home. Full North and Mystic line up. Get some sweet new board shorts or rash guard. Great spot. Great staff. Great vibe. Full send.

ULA | Norte en Uno is a fantastic beachfront destination with six restaurants offering a wide range of delicious food at various price points. The live music adds to the vibrant atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for evening enjoyment by the beach. Guests have praised the fresh and homemade pasta, pizza, steak, and fish dishes. The friendly staff and great service contribute to the overall positive experience. The restaurant's chic decor, comfortable outdoor seating, and clean facilities further enhance its appeal.
Get the Henny Coladas 10/10, wouldn’t have had such a great time if it weren’t for George and Sayonara they’re the best and made us feel so welcomed. Great music, great food, and the best pulled pork I’ve had in my life

Really cool decor. Excellent service staff, so polite and patient. They actually had Bohemia beers, a local brew. Nice comfortable chairs outdoor. We didn't eat. But their menu looked tempting. The restrooms are immaculate and so clean, besides being chic.

Very stylish interior, good and quick service, food portions tiny. I recommend the cocktails! The owner of the bar is very friendly and generous. Definitely come again.

After 11 nights in Cabarete we found this restaurant. It ended up being our very favorite meal the entire trip. The pasta, pizza, steak and fish were all fantastic. Everything was fresh and homemade. Our server, Chino, was wonderful. Very personable and great service. Ambiance is fantastic as well. This is definitely a 5!

First time ordered a steak and second time some grilled chicken wings, they were both very decent. Don’t let the decoration and ambiance fool you, it’s nice but is not that nice. Is a great place to sit back and chill. Times I went the staff was friendly and respectful.
Andrea A — Google review
I was in the DR visiting and staying with friends at their home. They were such gracious hosts that my wife and I decided to treat them to a special evening out. My friend’s wife was so impressed and in awe of the visual presence and music at ULA, we decided it would be the prefect place for a festive evening and our last night in the DR. Well, it could not have turned out to be further from the truth. Our server although pleasant and well mannered seemed to be somewhat lost and disoriented. Being the kind hearted person I’d like to believe I am, not once did I come across as angry but I did express my disappointment. After placing our drink order for our group of six, we received our drinks, one couple at a time 10 minutes apart. One couple received their food order so far ahead of the rest of the group, that they were done before the rest of us started our dinner. The drinks were somewhat expensive when compared to comparable restaurants. We were underwhelmed and not impressed with the work of the mixologist. Of all the meals ordered, the only tasteful and impressive one was my 3 pound Red Snapper which was absolutely delicious. If it wasn’t for this meal in particular, the evening would have been a total loss. Beautiful decor, pleasant music, disappointing drinks, and horrendous service. Order the Red Snapper to go, buy yourself a six pact of beer, take it home, play your favorite tunes and call it a night. I am so sorry I have to give my review one star, but this place is overpriced with extremely poor service. I did leave a generous tip out of the goodness of my heart.

Honestly the other reviews don't do it justice. It's a great beach fron place. Food is great with 6 restaurants to choose from. Good range of prices from low to high and both ends were tasty. They had an amazing band playing live music. It's a great place to be during the night and even more to enjoy the the beach.

The place is amazing. Great service and drinks. The bartender makes cool creations and there is something for everyone here. Do try "carne salada" as an appetizer, it is superb. I had the BBQ ribs and it was delicious. A must if you come to Cabarete!

Hostel Laguna Park

4.3
(116)
Hostel
Nestled in a gated community, Hostel Laguna Park offers a budget-friendly and cozy stay for travelers. The hostel provides a laid-back atmosphere with social events and bustling communal spaces where backpackers can mingle. It features a pool, shared kitchen, and various sitting areas including one by the pool and another indoors with entertainment options like TV, books, pool table, and a bar.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience during my stay at Laguna Park Cabarete! This hostel deserves a solid 5-star rating. The staff at Laguna Park Cabarete are not only incredibly friendly but also exceptionally knowledgeable. What makes them even more remarkable is their diverse backgrounds, which enriches the overall experience for guests like me. During my visit, I stayed in Room 11, and it exceeded all my expectations. This spacious and beautifully designed room featured two comfortable double beds pushed together. What's more, it came with a fully equipped private kitchen, a clean and well-appointed private bathroom, and a delightful private balcony. The combination of these amenities truly enhanced the quality of my stay. I can't express enough how much I enjoyed my time here, and I can't wait to return. Laguna Park Cabarete is a hidden gem, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable hostel experience.

The pool was green, rooms have no working fans, bathrooms had no toilet paper, and after a long day of exploring I came back to a flooded bathroom. The cute little outdoors area you see pictured here? The ceiling is caved in and there's barely any outdoor seating. Also while getting a tour I was told someone was coming in to clean the pool. I was lied to, the only person I caught cleaning the pool was a volunteer that lived there. He had a net and was taking debris out of the pool... yet the pool was green! They need a professional cleaning service done. I was sorely disappointed in my experience and didn't stay a single night. The vibes are just low to the ground. I was the only paying customer there. Will not recommend.
Killa C — Google review
The location is perfect since the place is located in a gated community. If you want a stay in a place were you can sleep, take a bath, wake up and spend the day knowing the town, then this is it, It has a pool and a shared kitchen for all the guests but is not the type of experience a person that is used to resorts and all inclusive hotels. Like i said: for me and my wife it was the perfect type of place since we needed where to sleep and take a bath between runs around the town.
Javier R — Google review
I had higher expectations after reading the reviews. It's just ok, typical backpackers, hippie spot. Cleaning should be improved because the smell of the shower in the dorm was awful, mold everywhere. It's also very far from the downtown but in a nice SAFE community.

Had a great stay. Very friendly knowledgable staff that comes from a lot of different backgrounds. Stayed in room 11. It was big and beautiful. Came with 2 double beds pushed together, a private kitchen, private bathroom and private balcony. We loved our stay and would gladly come back.

stayed there for around a week. very helpful friendly nice stuff, around 1km from city center in the end of a luxury vila nighberhood. nice walk to city center. I was in a private room with a balcony that was cheap big and clean. there is a nice kitchen with everything you need to cook+2 sitting areas around the pool, 1 with sofas and one more suitable for eating . there is a sitting area inside with tv and books a pool table and a bar. all the public areas and the rooms are very very lightened with big big windows. don't be afraid from the distance to city center for 2 reasons, first it's a very calming and relaxing walk second it's cost around 0.5 euro to use a scooter taxy to get to the city center.

En castillo is the best place to relax and meet new people in Cabarete. The hostel is located at the end of Procab, a guarded street which takes 15 mins walk to the main road, surrounded by woods and songs of tropical birds. Many friendly volunteers and cool managers adds to the wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

This is the best place to stay in cabarete if you like to meet good people. The staff are very nice (gracias Luis, Larry, Pedro, Flora, Tony & his wife). We were planning on staying for 3 days but ended up staying for a week. Highly recommended! 🙌🙌🙌

Restaurant
Mesa Taina Restaurant at Kite Beach Hotel offers a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes, sourcing organic ingredients from the aquaponic Taino Farm. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a diverse menu including sushi, tapas, and gourmet burgers. Despite its simple decor, the kitchen prepares inspiring food that keeps visitors fueled for activities like kite surfing. It's known for its great spot on the beach and delicious monster rolls.
Just had the best meal yet since arriving in the Dominican Republic here at this resturant. It was not the cheapest place we've eaten at, but the food quality and flavours were absolutely worth it. Our server was good and spoke good English. And we were able to have our dog with us at one of their beachfront tables outside. Very impressed!
Taylor S — Google review
This restaurant was recommended to us by another couple. We took their word and taxied over there. First thing's first - they do NOT accept credit cards. It's cash or PayPal only. Fortunately we got PayPal to work because we had planned on using our card! The starter they serve of plantain chips and fresh guacamole was really good. It's on the house. The regular seafood paella was very tasty, though it could have used more clams and mussels and less octopus. But very good anyhow. The crab penne in a creamy sauce was delicious. Unfortunately, the "crab" was pollock, which just isn't even close. If they used real crab meat that dish would really have knocked our socks off. The "ceasar" salad was actually just lettuce with croutons in a honey mustard dressing. It was fine, but not ceasar. Mojito was ok but quite weak. The Mama Juana shot at the end (also on the house) was delightful. So, highly recommend the paella and the pasta Leave the rest. Our waiter was very friendly and we had a nice time.

amazing experience. our server carlos was so kind and attentive. the food was some of our favourite we’ve had in the dominican. the banana mama’s here are the best in cabarete! sushi is impeccable. loved the tacos, they’re super loaded with fresh ingredients. definitely check this place out!

Wonderful open air restaurant right on Kite Beach. Extensive menu. Everything I had was good! The passion tea is sublime - add a squeeze of lime for a unique, refreshing beverage to sip after dinner to end the night. Food wise, I especially enjoyed the Caribbean shrimp, the sushi, and the chicken fajitas. Food can be a little slow but you just gotta relax and enjoy the laidback vibe. I enjoyed spending a couple hours here for dinner making friends with other patrons from around the worked. I love the decor and ambiance. Everyone is very friendly. Can’t wait to come back.
Cynthia B — Google review
I loooove it here!!! The service is incredible, the food is fresh, local, sustainable and FEEELS GOOOOD. Love that they make everything in house from the miso to the chorizo and support the local workers and ecology. Highly recommend the squid ink paella, the yucca with chorizo, and the spinach and garlic.

Sat inside. Staff very loud, the blender, the chopping of ice. Omg Order d the fajitas mexied at 980. Rd. It was not on a hot plate, one tortillas cut in four, 3 very small pieces of I think meat, 2 slices of red pepper, 1/8 cup of guacamole, chopped tomatoes, and I think cheap cheese... No sour cream. Sent it back Ordered grilled chicken with rice. Chicken was like cardboard that tasted fishy. You have a beautiful location. Take advantage of that. Offer quality food. Go see tres los cocos. Perhaps you could do it here. And be full of satisfied clients. I wish you all the best. May God bless you

Pomodoro is an Italian restaurant located just a minute's walk from Cabarete Palm Beach Condos, offering a beachfront dining experience. The menu features a variety of options for both adults and kids, with their pizzas being the highlight.
If you want Italian, go here for great pizza dough and pasta perfectly cooked which is rare to find! Take into account you are not in Italy but in the middle of Caribbean so adjust expectations and still expect delicious food.

Waited 1.5 hours (they said it would be 40 minutes) for a disappointing pizza and calzone. Ordered a prosciutto calzone and inside was just lunch meat ham. The caprese pizza was soggy and the crust was flavorless. It was busy and there were only 2 servers so I did feel bad but they never communicated to us that it would be longer than they originally said or even acknowledged us after we ordered. They also add on 30% in taxes and service fees, making it way more expensive than we originally thought. Overall not a great experience. Fast food pizza is 10x better than this place. I suggest spending your money elsewhere.

The food was really great and tasty. The drink Coco Loco was amazing and nicely served in a coconut. Also all of the staff was very nice and the restaurant is on the beach, so the atmosphere and view is very nice.

Food is fresh and good quality. The waiter staff are a hit or miss. We sat first night (Friday around 8 pm )and we were ignored and treated with attitude. We left and walked over to another great choice. We then returned the next day (Saturday) around 3:30 pm when there were Less busy, and it was perfect. The salad was perfect, the lasagna delicious !!!!! And the pizza very good and authentic. Great food.

This is a great place to eat while in Cabarete. Food was good (don’t expect high end, it’s simple and casual good quality and feels fresh) we ordered pizza margarita (that was closer to a cheese slice) and penne carbonara (it wasn’t a real carbonara but the white sauce was good -really garlic forward but i’m a garlic girl so i didn’t mind- ). The service was good and the food was in our table quickly. I’d definitely visit again.

Pizza and Spaghetti House in Cabarete is a top choice for those craving classic Italian cuisine. With a menu featuring various styles of pasta, pizza, and more, this restaurant offers an authentic taste of Italy in the laid-back atmosphere of Cabarete's beachfront. One of the best pizza 🍕 I ever had. Crispy thin dough and really well cooked veggies. Salad portion was perfect for 2 people. Friendly staff and cozy decoration. Highly recommended

A disclaimer is that we tried this on Valentine’s Day and it was busy in Cabarete. The service started off great and then disappeared completely. We ordered a pizza and a pasta and were warned it would take a while for pasta, which was totally fine. When the pizza came, it was good! Not as good as the little pizza spot next to Janet’s, but it was still good. But it was not the pizza we ordered. At first my wife (who hates onions) said, “I don’t remember onions on the menu” and then we realized it just wasn’t the pizza at all that we ordered. But we still ate it and enjoyed it enough. When the pasta (spaghetti amatriciana) came my wife asked me what it reminded me of and I immediately guessed what her first thought was: zoodles. Not sure if there’s zoodles in Dominican, but it’s a canned pasta we would have had as a kid growing up. It wasn’t gross. But it wasn’t great. The margaritas were good though! We’ve been told by others that this place is worth trying so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they’re just not used to a busy night like it was for Valentine’s Day. If I went back (I won’t) I would get another pizza because it was decent. But no chance I’d get their pasta again. Still appreciate that they fit us in last minute on such a busy night.

I looooved the pizza, very tasty sauce and the right amount of ingredients as well. The back yard is nice, too and staff very friendly and attentive. I think prices are very fair for the quality and amount you get.

Service is wonderful, and the pizza is some of the best I’ve had since being on the island. Pictured is the Pollo Verdure. The veggies are fresh, not canned. The crust was prefect. Crispy, yet supple. Also, try the spicy oil. Todo fue perfecto!

Nestled conveniently across from the Perla Marina entrance, Crazy Ranch has quickly become a must-visit destination in the vibrant dining scene of Sosua and Cabarete. This lively spot is not just about catching thrilling Super Bowl action; it’s also a haven for barbecue lovers. The menu boasts mouthwatering brisket that melts in your mouth, succulent BBQ ribs that practically fall off the bone, and crispy chicken wings that are simply irresistible.
I highly recommend Crazy Ranch! For our last meal before, leaving the DR, we stopped in for a hearty dinner! From the jalapeño poppers that were made fresh, to the beef brisket that was one of the best I’ve ever eaten, everything was perfect. On top of that, I was blown away at the pricing. Very affordable for the serving sizes! This will probably be our first stop when we come back. See you again soon at the Crazy ranch

Awesome chicken wings cooked crisp and lots of Buffalo sauce (mild with a little zing to them) albeit a little smaller than I'm used to back home. I quite enjoyed them as its hard to find on menus here and done right. The reason for the four stars only my wife had the chicken sandwich which she found a liitle rubbery and just ok. Fries were perfect nice and crisp as well as I had the coleslaw and loved it. My friend had the brisket tacos and they were very good. I would love to return to explore more of the menu. Cash only here! Im posting updated menus, food pics so if this review helps you please give it a like

If you’re looking for authentic, finger-lickin’ barbecue, Crazy Ranch BBQ is the place to go! The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender with just the right amount of smoky flavor, and the ribs fell right off the bone, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. What really surprised me, though, were the sides. Too often they’re an afterthought, but here they steal the show. From fried pickles and tangy coleslaw Fried Okra, every bite tasted homemade and full of flavor. The portions were generous, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere felt warm and rustic. Exactly what you’d want in a true BBQ joint. If you love great barbecue with sides that are just as memorable, Crazy Ranch BBQ is a must-try.

It's the best place to go in Sosua for chicken wings! I love the sides and desserts. You can't go wrong with honey mustard, sweet chili, lemon pepper, or peanut Thai. I forgot to mention the brisket and ribs.

Best wings in the area! Choose your style choose your sauce. The deep fried okra and pickles are delicious 😋 Fast and always friendly service. Haven't had one but the burgers look amazing. Highly recommend 🇨🇦

This is a must visit if you like burguer, wings and ribs. Tavern like local. Really good service, always checking up on you. Ice tea beverages came with refill. Our food was delicious, really tasty. There are so many sauces to choose from that we'll definitely come back to try them all (Sweet Spicy Mustard was really good). PS: No pets allowed 🐕.

The Thai peanut wings 😍😍!! I want to come back just for them!! Heard the owner spent some time in Memphis, TN where I grew up so I was excited to try this place. Big portions. Ribs were huge! They come dry with the sauce on the side. The sauce is delicious and I would say is Memphis style. The wings are good. Fried pickles also tasty. The server was kind, spoke English, and had good recommendations. It is a mother/son team that does an excellent job! Service was fast. Not as big of a selection as I'd hope for, but what they have is good! Update: returned tonight to get more Thai wings and also tried the lemon pepper from server's recommendation- they were also amazing! We got the fruit drinks this time too - Lime, passion fruit & Strawberry. They were pretty sugary and hard to finish but made for happy kids!

Excellent bbq almost as good as Texas bbq l. Loved the food and service and every time I’m near I go hear to eat. A year later and my sixth or seventh visit. And it’s went from a must visit to a why visit and from 5 stars to 1. Seems like it’s the same waitress that has attended me all times but her will to live has seemed to vanish just as the quality of the brisket. Which would melt like butter but how’s hard like rubber and taste old and reheated. Will not visit again. And I came with so much hope
