The best surfing beach in the DR, love it. There`s a swell and various surfing points. Bobo`s and LG are my favorite, also try Chino and Pauhana.

It's the DR. This attraction is in a very poverty stricken area and may make some people uncomfortable. This place could be so much more if the DR put time and money into it. Myself wife and daugther visited 3 caves the rest were unsafe to tour/ closed. 1 had no power and we used our cellphone flashlight so Im assuming that one will be closed soon also. Most of the place is in various states of disrepair, neglect and exterme caution should be used in the caves. Admission was a bit suspect...20 USD a person and 17 USD a child under 11. However fourm I signed which was in spanish. Im assuming a safety forum said price was 700 DOP that was paid but our braclets said cost was 100 DOP each. Overall like others stated its not per say worth the admission but it helps support a area that is neglected from my perpesctive. For us its a one and done experince.

The caves were fun. Unfortunately the power was out in the first cave. I wish we had used our phones so we could have seen it, but we didn't think of that until later. The tour gets better as you go and last two caves were the highlight and we had plenty of time swimming. Tons of fun. The guide told us lots of people come to go bird watching, and there were lots of birds high in the canopy. Bring bug spray!

Entry fee is only $100 Dominican pesos but they won’t let you in unless you pay them $1250 per person. The extra fee is for a tour guide that you have to pay regardless, you don’t have an option, if you don’t pay the guide they won’t let you in. I am a native and I felt disgusted at the way they treat the tourists. I’m sure nobody that experienced something like this will ever come back to the island. I took a few pictures of the so call security after they got all defensive when I pointed out the obvious.

My wife and I had the most amazing time here. Our guides were Hanser and Lenny and they took the time to show us all the different plants, take us to all the caves, take some videos and pictures of us while we swam in the caves, and went at the paces which we needed. They were very knowledgeable about the animals, plants and geology of the area and made it one of the best and most memorable things we did in the DR! I would highly recommend them to anybody that is in the area, you will have an amazing time!

Totally worth the money. My guide Alfonso was fun to be around and spoke impeccable English. It was crazy impressive! The caves are just stunning. Everyone involved was very friendly. I'm super glad I went!

We enjoyed our tour very much. Our guide Alan impressed us with his extensive knowledge of the local plant life and was also able to share fascinating details about stalagmites and stalactites aswell. He spoke with great insight about the Taino culture and guided us with kindness. We don‘t speak Spanish so Alan‘s perfect English made everything really understandable which we greatly appreciated. We can wholeheartedly recommend a visit to anyone!!

My husband and I took our family here today, three small children and my parents. It was AMAZING. So fun to see all the natural plants from the Dominican Republic. John’s Jungle is insane— super cool to see what he discovered, the business he made and what’s left of it. The caves were magical! My children were able to traverse all three caves. One was very steep and dark. The last one, frog cave was BEAUTIFUL. The water was refreshing, the stairs to go down were secure. It was a beautiful excursion. Alan was a lovely guide, very knowledgeable and kind. July shared with us his dream to bring further education to the children in the neighborhood. A must visit! Be prepared to sweat and bring water shoes/hiking sandals.

The atmosphere is wonderful at Vagamundo in Cabarete. There are lots of cozy places to sit, even to work on your laptop, and a nice area with toys for children to keep occupied. I had a matcha latte that was fine. I would definitely come back to try items on the menu that other reviewers rave about.

By far my favorite coffee shop in the Dominican Republic. The service is fast, even when there are crowds, which I’ve only seen once. The ambient is earthy, clean, and friendly. Their food isn’t overly sweet and there are many options for less sugar or even unsweetened.

Stopped in for coffee and waffles at Vagamundo and ended up staying longer than planned! The coffee was perfectly balanced, with rich flavor without bitterness and the waffles were golden, fluffy, and served with just the right amount of sweetness. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere had that easy Cabarete beach-town vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

Really beautiful place that reminds me of the states. The coffee is really yummy here. Their waffle is good snack and they have a lot of choices but I look forward to trying their toasts in the future.

Excellent staff, decent coffee, comfortable atmosphere, depressing repetitive bland music. The desired California esque affect is obvious, if not a little overdone. Overall I would put this pricey coffee spot in the category of style over substance. And as I've read other reviewers state; cinnamon on every latte without asking is wack.

Delicious and unique! Everything was very tasty and quite original. We will definitely come back to this wonderful place and highly recommend it!

Do yourselves a favor and Skip Papa’s, low quality tourist trap place… Food- beef not seasoned, very bland, seafood consisted of 2 langostinos and 2 shrimp, lots of mushroom though Service- way understaffed, worst Pina Colada’s I have tasted ever, like the coconut milk was soured. Returned them to get the same awful drink again… waited more than a hour for mediocre tourist trap food. The manager never came to ask how was our dinner. The waiter asked if we will pay cash or credit card. When I presented a Visa card, the waiter stated we only take Mastercard. He left and finally returned disturbed, they uncharged my bill for using a Visa card.

I had shrimp here and it was amazing! Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere cozy. I’ll definitely come back! 🍤

First of all, I would like to highlight the signature shrimp dish. Secondly, the level of service and the politeness of the staff (the manager and the waitresses, unfortunately I don’t remember their names). Working in the restaurant business myself, I can honestly give 4.2–4.5 stars for each point. Here, no one will bother you while you are walking down the street choosing a place to dine. Here, you are served drinks and salad first, and then the main course — not everything at once. I was told the story behind the creation of the shrimp dish — this place has history and soul. You managed to achieve what restaurants in Europe, Asia, and America could not: you satisfied a chef with a very critical style. I will definitely come back next year. You are incredible.

The food was well prepared. Right on the beach in Cabarete. We were given a free bread appetizer with a delicious salsa dip. Staff were accommodating and happy to make our visit a good one. We would go back for sure. I had the seafood plate. Delicious!

This restaurant is located by the water. You can hear the waves in the background. I saw local residents and tourist alike at the restaurant. The menu had all the great dishes from the island. If you are not Spanish speaking, there were many bilingual staff.

5 stars is not enough...the Papi's shrimps are unbelievable, highly highly recommended

Loved this place. First off, never have we had a passionfruit daiquiri made with the actual, local fruit. It was a revelation! Unbelievably good! Fried chicken wings were crispy and tasty, and you can choose sauces to go with them. Fried sweet plantains were perfect. The nachos were just ok (don't recommend them). Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Service took a while, but it was packed, so there wasn't much to do about that. This restaurant has a really large drink and food menu. It is kid/family friendly, and it's extremely likely everyone in your party will find something they like.

I would give this place zero stars if possible. Cabarete generally has very high quality food and restaurants. This place stands out for how crappy it is. Service is essentially non-existent. Super slow. Not attentive. The food is lousy too. Really bland. Poor quality. Unimaginative. Just generally crappy. It’s nice to sit by the beach in the shade, but you can do the same thing at every other place along the beach in Cabarete and have good food with generally good service. It’s also overpriced. Much better options along the whole strip. Pretty disappointed to spend one of my lunches out of a five day trip here. Go elsewhere. Yuk.

Service was slow. Waited all most 5 minutes before the wait staff took my order. Order the whole fish ,and a coke. The fish was great...

We had a great experience at Mojito! We ordered some papaya daiquiris and fried red snapper. Daiquiris were delicious, and the red snapper was fried perfectly with delicious crisp skin. The snapper is priced per pound and we were told that typical sizes to order are 1lbs or 1.5lbs. we each ordered a 1lbs fish and based on the bill they were each just slightly over (they bill by actual weight of each fish). 1lbs is a good size for a single person, but would also be good to share if ordering other food.

The food and drinks were excellent. I highly recommend the virgin Strawberry and Banana Margaritas—they were like smoothies, and the Strawberry one was one of the best I've ever tasted! The location is perfect, right on the beach, adding to the overall enjoyable atmosphere.

The main bartender and his band of helpers are absolute gems. Couldn’t be more thankful for their devoted service (and unrivaled patience). They are the true heart and soul of this place. They take food and drink orders, make the drinks fast and strong, and work through various language barriers and swarms of crowds of tourists and locals alike. We were there for NYE (and subsequently were there 3 more times) because of the service and drinks mainly. The food was very good as well, just took a bit to come out. The pescado frito con tostone and the ceviche de camarones were actually quite good. The camarones latino was the sleeper meal, as it was sweet and sour (fresh pineapple, avocado, and mustard to name a few ingredients) all paired so nicely together. Drink specials are excellent and strong as well. The locals that come here are also extremely easygoing and welcoming (especially Yvonne, a singer in a band well-known around the town, I swear the woman knew everyone and was a staple at the end of the bar). Don’t bother with the rest of the other restaurants on the beach. This is an excellent spot to get the real feel of a Cabarete beach bar. Positive point: try and get your seat at the bar style seats facing the water, they are very popular but for good reason.

Godess is or of those great little beach bars in Cabarete. The atmosphere, the staff, and the view make you want to return. And the food was spectacular. I would go back in a heartbeat 💓

I’m not sure if it was just our table but the constant amount of flies was ridiculous…even while waiting for food. We sat on the beach. The service could be better honestly…so many different people coming to the table just seemed so unorganized. I don’t even have pictures of our actual food because of the wait I was already annoyed. The nachos and bruschetta should not have taken so long to come out… The pizza was okay good enough for the kids. Burgers were decent, and fries fairly seasoned.

I love the food at Ojo! They’ve always been pretty consistent with the quality. This was the first time on this trip that we came to eat and the food was great as always, but the service was baaaad! Lol it’s expected that there’s a little wait but no one even came up to our table for 20 minutes. When someone walked by I asked who the waiter was for our table and he said me then again didn’t come back for 5-10 mins. Despite that, he was very friendly and attentive after the initial slowness. We had two cheeseburger specials and a veggie pizza. You can’t beat the cheeseburger special. It’s the best deal on the beach. It’s a bacon cheeseburger with fries for $299rd. The pizzas are really good also! All in all, the service varies I think this visit was just a write off. Def still recommend going !! Also fun at night.

The food prices here are so good to be true . You can get so much food and drinks for so cheap . Highly recommend this place on the beach . Staff was nice and food was freshly made . Definitely can’t wait to visit again .

Been going to Ojo’s for almost 3.5 years, love going here for the variety of food they offer at a great price and the food has been good majority of the times we have been here. It’s right on the beach which is a plus chatting and eating with friends at. At night after around 9pm, it becomes a night club and it’s the only place you want to go to if you want to dance in Cabarete.

Furthest thing from Italian food....the pizza is under cooked. Great atmosphere as its on a beach...hard to screw that up....staff are all nice....I had the American Pizza but taste raw....my wife had a Margherita Pizza and scrapped off the cheese because of the poor quality of cheese....not much left...lol....and she is Italian.

They have some good nightlife here from time to time. Personally, I'm not a fan of the food. I had fish tacos that had very little fish and were served with a side of marinara sauce. The quedadilla had hardly any cheese and was quite small.

Voy Voy is a wonderful and laid back place right on the beach. All of the servers are very attentive and friendly. We especially liked Alicia, Jose and Wanda! The food is fresh with many options. You can tell the chef is well trained. The strawberry mojito is made with real strawberry and not syrup. The prices are very reasonable. We visited several times during our stay in Cabarete beach and had a wonderful experience each and every time.

We had a couple of drinks there through the week. Never disappointed. The happy hour makes it the best place for your money. You can do karaoke on certain nights.

Walked by many emtpy resturants begging us to stop in but were told Voy Voy is the place to be Sundays for open mic. Wish someone warned us about the food. I really dont know how you can compete on the beach with terrible food. Had to ask for Napkins and Forks (fries and salad) didnt matter ate very little my wife more then felt sick to her stomach at home. We ordered drinks and Nachos plus wings at the same time took a long time just for drinks finally asked about the drinks then they brought them. We asked about the food and got a nod cuzz noone understood english. I get it we are in a spanish speaking country but everyone there was Canadian or American thats you clientele. The food was terrible the Nachos had some sort of squeeze on cheese something you might see in a vending machine ( see pic ). The meat if you can call it that was about the same some sort of goo is all i can say to discribe it. The wings were not cut soaked in bbq sauce and not even mediocre. During the waiting for food had 3 beers and a daiquiri total was over 2000 pesos $46 cad they are one of the few resturants we seen here that include the legal 10% cuzz guess what noones tipping for sure. I waited for my change which was only coins as they were not getting more pesos from me. The highlight is open mic come for the music eat before.

I have not eaten here but the drinks are adorable and the karaoke on a Monday night is amazing! So fun and diverse group of singers. Francesca is a great KJ and very beloved by the community. You'll have a great time if you stop in to listen or sing. The staff are very friendly and they sing and participate too!

They open at 7:30am which is very nice, since not a lot of places open that early. Good food: breakfast, burrito, humus, soup. I wish they had fresh fish, but I have been there four times I think during my last trip, and they never had it.

For what it is, a touristy place with an awesome view of an active beach, it’s okay. Fish tacos were not what we expected; a few chunks of fish in a tomato sauce that you put in a fried corn or soft flour tortilla. Mojito pitchers were refreshing. Come for the view.

One of the most beautiful beaches on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. This beach has many activities to keep you busy all day. There are many restaurants and bars for dinning and having your favorite drink. So plan your next vacation to DR and visit the North Shore.

Playa Cabarete is definitely on of the best beaches in Dominican Republic, I strongly recommend it, if you want to relax the beach is really spacious, here there is not need to be close to other people, it’s great for wind surfing, if you want to enjoy of a long walk this is the place, you can walk for an hour without getting to the end. There are restaurants and bar. Just a suggestion if you want to rent chairs and umbrella check with different vendors first, some are lot more expensive than others.

Beautiful beach with sand entry and sand break. The restaurants are lined up along the beach which makes for such a fun dining experience.

There is something for everyone here. small bars and restaurants, a great long beach for nice walks, a great kite spot and clear water for swimming.

Update:The best greek yogurt you'll ever get! Adorable place to get coffee, Parfaits, empanadas and of course honey. Kelly and her family welcome people with arms wide open. A great place to hang and meet locals while having the Parfait of your life. You can watch hummingbirds and say hi to the puppy! I really like their toastie with avocado/tomato and Kelly Jelly. They don't have eggs here, that was the case under old management but they do have a new menu and they are exploring the possibilities like froyo. It's such a magical vibe and the good conversation is part of the charm ❤️💜

Do yourself a favor and go for the yogurt and honey and stay for the company. Kelly, the owner, and her 4 kids have created such an authentic and lovely spot to enjoy a yogurt made in the traditional ways (fruit, honey and countless additions) as well as savory combinations (cucumber, olives, tomatoes, etc) and empanadas. I’ve been here for two weeks and have bought countless to-go containers of yogurt for the whole family and have enjoyed many afternoons chatting with Kelly and other lovely clientele who frequent the spot while enjoying an iced tea, coffee and yogurt bowls. The only downside is that I can’t take the yogurt home with me! See ya next time, Kelly!

We absolutely love The Honey Company! The place has such a charming, tucked-away feel — it’s a true GEM. Beautiful little hummingbirds fluttered around the feeders out front, adding to the magical atmosphere. The yogurt bowls were nothing short of INCREDIBLE — fresh, flavorful, and just downright delicious. Our kids couldn’t get enough of the cold iced tea, and we brought home some locally sourced honey that tastes as authentic as the experience itself. It’s just one of those places you want to keep going back to.. the quiet, the good coffee, the vibe, and the amazing YOGURT - it all just comes together perfectly ❤️

You walk in and immediately feel at home. The staff is so kind and the yogurt is absolutely delicious! We went back multiple days in a row, and seems like that's what everyone does.... It's a great place!

An incredible experience! Perfect location right on Kite Beach and great breakfast/lunch restaurant right on site. Accommodation and lesson package was very good value. The standard of equipment and instruction was second to none. The dedication and care of the instructors to get me up and riding by the end of my stay was really impressive. Great operation overall and I consider having made new friends at Cabarete Kite Point. Highly recommend! Will be back!

Tracy was extremely helpful in planning my husband and I’s first trip to Kite Beach. It will certainly not be our last! We did the all-inclusive 7-day package, which included accommodation, 9 hours of lessons, and 6 meals. She assisted with everything from airport transportation and hotel arrangements. We stayed next door at the Kite Beach Inn. It was basic, but their hotel manager, Kenny, was very accommodating and friendly. Their instructors were thorough and patient. Wilson, my instructor, is full of experience and couldn't have explained the concepts any better. Unfortunately, we lost a few days due to lack of wind but made up for the time towards the end of our trip. We left there with basic knowledge and techniques that we can use back home and continue our progression. We can’t wait to come back and visit the crew!!

Great experience! The school is fully equipped with CORE gear and has skilled instructors for every level. The spot is great and easy to ride, which makes learning fun and accessible. However, because the conditions are so beginner-friendly, the focus on safety theory and practice might not be enough to prepare you for more advanced or challenging spots.

Took my family of 5 for three days of kite lessons. We were all complete beginners and my kids are 5,7 and 9 years old. I didn't know what to expect and we were thrilled that by the third day everyone was kiting solo. The instructors were great with kids and the restaurant was the perfect place to hangout before and after our lessons. Perfect family vibe. Can't recommend more.

My husband took a few hour lesson, it was great! He took a lesson before in the Florida keys, and he said this one was night and day better, so much more info and practice. He unfortunately didn’t have enough time to come back to get in the water for more lessons, next trip! The communication via what’s app was amazing, a gorgeous spot on the beach, with a great restaurant. My kids and I enjoyed eating lunch while my husband took the lesson on the beach. Counting down until we get to come back!

Tracy and Jose run a great family business. The communication level was high and they were very helpful in planning every step of our trip from transportation from the airport to the accommodation (we stayed next door to the school at the Kite Surf Inn). Everyone on the staff from the instructors to the folks at the Cocotazo Restaurant were fantastic. Very friendly and fun, everyone's English was at least better than my Spanish. We went for instruction as complete novices. Their instructors and equipment are top notch. All of their kites and harnesses appear to be brand new. The instructors communicate concepts and techniques very well, my instructor Ellie was very patient, teaching this old dog new tricks. I left with a good base of knowledge to continue my progression back here in Florida. We did the all inclusive 7 day package. It was a great value, again the Inn where we stayed was modest and pretty basic, not a luxury resort, but it had a pool, and a fantastic beach front deck. The Inn Keeper Kenny was great and very helpful organizing a couple of late night meals for us and having a service take care of our laundry. The food at the Cocotazo restaurant was simple but the highest quality. You get one meal a day included, and we ate and drank most of our other meals there for the week, fresh smoothies, beer and rum at the end of the day and the prices were very fair, I ran a tab and at the end of the week my bill was $70US, and I put down a lot of food! Not only would I recommend using this school for your training, I plan on going back and taking my children when they get a little bigger. Two thumbs up for sure!

We lived in Cabaret and Manuel, and his other instructors are absolutely top-notch. They don’t charge absolute premium prices, probably because they are locally owned and operated. If you want to be charged a fair price, experience kiting with local Dominicans, and have a great safe time, I highly recommend Manuel and a several other instructors we worked with. They were helpful for me, as well as my younger daughter, who was learning to Kite for the first time.

Manuel and his Team are outstanding. They helped me to get better in a very fast time with tailored training. Very friendly and a very fair price what is rare! A+++

Best kiteboarding school in Cabarete!! Highly recommend. We noticed Manuel and his crew giving lessons on the beach, and I spoke with one of his students who said that she really trusts him and that they are great instructors. We could see that they were using good equipment. So my 16-year-old son decided to give it a shot. By the end of his first 2 hour lesson he was body dragging with instructor in the water. During his next 2 hour session he was kiteboarding solo downwind along the shore with instructor following him on the beach. The instructor took care of him whenever he ran into trouble. During his third 2 hour session on day 3, he was starting to edge upwind. On day 4, he was surfing out and back with one of the instructors following him on the beach to help when needed. Devun was so excited to be kiting on his own within a few days that he couldn't stop talking about it. Manuel has the best kite school in Cabarete and he makes sure that everyone is as safe as possible while learning.

Manuel and his team are excellent instructors! They are patient and professional. They have a range of equipment suitable for any rider. I have never flown a kiteboarding kite before, and by the end of the week I could confidently control the kite. I took seven hours of lessons over three days and I was able to get up and ride the board in either direction. I did a couple additional days of supervised-rental, where a Kite Land team member followed me down the beach and was available to help if I had any issues and to walk the kite back upwind. I've wanted to learn kiteboarding for over a decade, I feel fortunate to have had the chance to learn from the Kite Land school and hope to get a chance to return and rent from them in the future!

Mr. Manuel and his team are very professional and quality coaches. I had only been on a kite a few times but felt very safe with my instructor Carlos and was able to get up and ride in just a few days. They have a perfect location close to the beach and are always ready when the wind is good!

Andari Spa is pure bliss! From the moment I stepped inside, I felt transported to a serene oasis. The calming decor and soothing sounds instantly melted away my stress. Every corner was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained, setting the stage for a relaxing experience. The Andari Facial service itself was incredible. My esthetician, Sarah, took her time assessing my skin's needs before customizing the facial just for me. This canyoneering trip was a highlight of our trip. Our guides were great, provided the gear and instructions we needed every step of the way. The canyon is beautiful, the rappelling was excellent and the water refreshingly cool. The hike in and out was tough enough to be satisfying but not take all day. They took pictures for us and got some great shots. The lunch afterwards is a nice touch and was our first authentic Dominican meal. It was surprisingly delicious! If you’re looking for a technical adventure off the beaten path, I highly recommend these guides.

Helmut and Alberto were awesome. So professional and kind. They made the adventure so fun. We were a group of 8, with 4 kids. We did the six falls tour. The rappels were fun, jumping and swimming. We all had a blast. Highlight of our vacatin.

We booked a canyoning tour with Kayak River Adventures, but it was a complete disappointment. Due to low water levels, only about 25% of the tour was actually possible. What’s truly unacceptable is that we were not informed about this in advance. Had we known, we would have definitely canceled. Instead, we were charged the full price for a fraction of the experience. This felt like a rip-off and showed a serious lack of transparency and professionalism. Would not recommend.

Helmut is a true professional and above all a great person. We were 7 people on the trip. The trip with him was special, surprising and especially enjoyable. Stunning views, canyoning and fun jumps, great water and a very, very enjoyable trip. At the end of the trip we were served an excellent lunch. Everything was in a great atmosphere. One my favorite things to do in Cabarete! Friendly knowledgeable guides help you with many different adventures. I have been on so several super fun kayaking adventures and was blown away on the Canyoning adventure! I rappelled down a waterfall with no prior experience. Good times with a great company.

We moved here a little less than a year ago from the NY area and we have been on a quest to find NY style pizza. Our search is over. This has been the best pizza here hands down. In fact it was better than 90% of the NY pizza’s that I have ever had. Thin crust with a great crust crisped just right baked to perfection in a stone oven. Don’t think twice before trying it. You will not be disappointed.

You definitely want to go here on Tuesday or Wednesday when they have live music. It's awesome pizza, that's coming from a die hard New Yorker! It's the best pizza we've had so far and the staff are friendly. Hooked on the veggie lovers and chorizo pizza. Yummy juices but sometimes they are variant in how good they are. The open mic is very entertaining.

I recently bought the 3 day Detox Cure and I absolutely loved it. It's an incredible mix of juices, plant based 'smoothies' packed with lots of goodies, health shots and herbal teas. I decided to only take the detox cure and other than that fast for those three days. It was a great challenge and left me feeling incredible and super energized. It was a perfect reset after a lot of travel and a whole lot of (unhealthy) eating :)

I stumbled upon Herbalista Love on my last (planned) day in the Dominican Republic, and I am so so glad & grateful I did!!! This shop had SO many things I had wanted & hadn't yet come across on my journey - I was planning to shop around a few places that day, but I ended up buying everything I wanted/needed from Herbalista! I ordered some medicine from a nearby pharmacist as well, and I have to say - I wish I hadn't. I got side effects from the pharmacy meds, so I stopped taking those by day 2 and used only the regiment Alita had sent. One of the few restaurants in Cabarete that has good service. The prices are good and the food is okay. The seats are comfy and you have a great view of the beach!

Large margaritas are great. We got the frozen chinola without the beer. Large loaded nachos , not so large, not so loaded, but still good. Priced are normal compared to the states. Didn't feel like it was a great dea (price wise ), but being by the beach, with good service, I was happy. Service was fast and friendly.

The scenery was pleasant but the the hamburger was dry and hard. They had seventys music playing but it was mixing with the reggae from the next bar.

The absolute BEST fish tacos I have ever had in my life. The bar is on the beach so while enjoying your tacos and a refreshing cocktail you can enjoy the beautiful turquoise water and all of the kite surfers. I'm definitely coming back every time I'm in the DR.

Unfortunaly since i, way to much overweight i cant eat to much icecream and also i couldnt afford to buy to much icecream . if this review would be about the quality of the ice at Heldos Bon , without doubt it would be 5 stars. There is a thing i can't understand since it make bo sense for me . So today was a one of the rare days i need to have icecream , so i ordered a big pot oft the expensive stuff ;-) start to order and after 3 different icecram the lady says oh no you only may choose 3 different kinds . Please give me a reasonable explanation for that . what different does it make if i choose 1 3 or 5 ? Dont get me wrong i was not planning to choose 10 different kinds and i would understand i cant , but realy , 3 sorry no understading for that . so deeply frustrated i left with 2 kindsless i did like to have and no i will not buy one pot more . Even thinking not buying icecream there anymore at all .

Plain good old ice cream, plenty of flavors, but these were not marked in the parlour, so had to go through quite a lot with the patient server. Otherwise, great place to cool down, plenty of space.

Delicious treats close to the beach in Cabarete, DR. Nice flavors that I'm not used to like plum (yum!) and dragon fruit, and nice service.

The pool was green, rooms have no working fans, bathrooms had no toilet paper, and after a long day of exploring I came back to a flooded bathroom. The cute little outdoors area you see pictured here? The ceiling is caved in and there's barely any outdoor seating. Also while getting a tour I was told someone was coming in to clean the pool. I was lied to, the only person I caught cleaning the pool was a volunteer that lived there. He had a net and was taking debris out of the pool... yet the pool was green! They need a professional cleaning service done. I was sorely disappointed in my experience and didn't stay a single night. The vibes are just low to the ground. I was the only paying customer there. Will not recommend.

The location is perfect since the place is located in a gated community. If you want a stay in a place were you can sleep, take a bath, wake up and spend the day knowing the town, then this is it, It has a pool and a shared kitchen for all the guests but is not the type of experience a person that is used to resorts and all inclusive hotels. Like i said: for me and my wife it was the perfect type of place since we needed where to sleep and take a bath between runs around the town.

I had higher expectations after reading the reviews. It's just ok, typical backpackers, hippie spot. Cleaning should be improved because the smell of the shower in the dorm was awful, mold everywhere. It's also very far from the downtown but in a nice SAFE community.

Had a great stay. Very friendly knowledgable staff that comes from a lot of different backgrounds. Stayed in room 11. It was big and beautiful. Came with 2 double beds pushed together, a private kitchen, private bathroom and private balcony. We loved our stay and would gladly come back.

stayed there for around a week. very helpful friendly nice stuff, around 1km from city center in the end of a luxury vila nighberhood. nice walk to city center. I was in a private room with a balcony that was cheap big and clean. there is a nice kitchen with everything you need to cook+2 sitting areas around the pool, 1 with sofas and one more suitable for eating . there is a sitting area inside with tv and books a pool table and a bar. all the public areas and the rooms are very very lightened with big big windows. don't be afraid from the distance to city center for 2 reasons, first it's a very calming and relaxing walk second it's cost around 0.5 euro to use a scooter taxy to get to the city center.

En castillo is the best place to relax and meet new people in Cabarete. The hostel is located at the end of Procab, a guarded street which takes 15 mins walk to the main road, surrounded by woods and songs of tropical birds. Many friendly volunteers and cool managers adds to the wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Extreme Hotels was exactly what I was looking for and didn’t know I’d finally find. I’m a young remote worker who enjoys traveling while working. This hotel provided the perfect space for me to do that. Not only was I able to work peacefully, but I also took full advantage of every morning and evening. I got excited about the morning gym workouts and enjoyed the sea and the sun in the afternoons. Thanks to the staff for being so kind—I have the best memories! Simple, healthy, and most importantly, super safe. I felt right at home.

We had an amazing time at Extreme Hotels! The location is perfect, right in front of the beach, which was ideal for our kitesurfing trip with friends. In the mornings, we trained with Gio, who’s fantastic for gym routines. We enjoyed healthy and delicious meals, and spent our afternoons kitesurfing. The place is peaceful, the rooms are very comfortable. I can’t wait to go back!

We had an incredible week at the hotel. The location is perfect for kiteboarding—just a short walk to the beach. My son, who doesn’t kiteboard, loved taking walks along the beach in the mornings and practicing yoga. Nice place to go along with my son as I was able to enjoy kiteboarding, knowing that my child was in a safe place. It’s the ideal spot for both relaxation and activity!

The location of this hotel is premier. It sits beautifully on the beach and offers a great view of the ocean at sunrise. The hotel itself is in deplorable condition. The description of being cooled by the ocean breeze is not accurate. The facilities themselves are less than safe. The tiles in the shower stalls are broken and poorly maintained. There are blocks holding up the beds. Electrics outlets are hanging from the walls. Ventilation windows are left without screens. The sliding doors to the balcony are so rusted the doors don’t slide. The chairs in the dining area are broken and in need of replacing. The pool was not clean with debris in it daily. The pipes and faucets spew brown water from rust. My room even had an exquisite bigger collection on the wall! I love the idea of having a “green” establishment. The web site truly does not depict the true conditions this old hotel. It looks as though someone bought an abandoned hotel, slapped on a layer of caulk or paint and labeled it “green”. My suggestion- go 800 ft down the road to a much better facility.

What a true delight to stay at this hotel on a yoga retreat in February! The comfortable, clean room was a few steps from the beach and property pool. At the time of our stay, the kite surfers were close by and entertained with a parade of color and athleticism. Attentive to any requests, this hotel owner and staff hosted our team with professionalism and kindness. Our package included breakfasts and dinners --- the freshest fruit and vegetables were delicious! I was here to deepen my yoga practice, and the experience to hear the gentle surf and meditate in the yoga loft was therapeutic and healing. The hotel property has been beautifully landscaped with lush palms and colorful plants. A relaxing day at the pool is a must. We also enjoyed the close proximity to shops and restaurants. What an incredible place in a beautiful country!

I stayed in eXtreme for two weeks in May and loved every minute of it. I left feeling so much better about myself and with a greater understanding of what my body can do and how to look after it. Bonus I lost 9lbs in while I was there as well! I loved the fitness classes which were so fun and functional and the trainers adapted to everyones needs and abilities. The gardens were beautifully kept and had so many varieties of fruits growing on the trees, an abundance of freshly grown herbs and the cute little chickens roaming around all day was just delightful. Such a world away from the hustle and bustle of New York. Every morning, I would step out onto the white sand and jump in the ocean, heaven! Robbie the owner would join us for dinner and share his knowledge of the area and engage in his fitness and nutrition understanding. Melanie was an angel, helping me with nutrition advice and allowing me to see what my body was capable of, by then end I could see the results. I had fun on the farm excursion and also enjoyed the local beach restaurants (under her guidance). I felt more balanced and so much calmer and happier when I left. I cannot wait to come again very soon with my girlfriends to share the experience of Cabarete and the hotel with its program. Second time here... Veranda is 60' feet from the beach... totally equipped kitchen...ac only in bedrooms but cold enough to hang meat... very comfy bed... bedroom Beach front view... unending hot water...5 Star accomodations and service from Alexa.

The please is just great. Units are fully equipped and the crew is super helpful and responsive. Water for the shower was not great and hard to heat it up. The rest, amazing. We will come back!

Best stay in Cabarete! Stayed in house A4. It is a home away from home. It has everything you might need. The houses are very safe.

Didn’t stay but the place is perfect from location and appearance point of view. Right in between Cabarete town Center and kite beach. Spacious area, houses look super cute, and property has some elevated grass areas to relax and sunbath (a bonus due to windy considerations on beach, and the occasional beach bugs!) Def recommend

Really great experience w Charles and team! In 3 days of wing foil lessons I was able to ride on foil for long rides. First time in Cabarete and had the best time!! The shop is not directly on the beach but is literally steps away. And after the first day we just met on the beach anyway. Highly recommend!

Great school smacked in the middle of the main Cabarete beach. I've been going to Cabarete for years and know how many of the schools operate. Liquid Blue is different. Charles is very knowledgeable and patient. He explained every step in great details and it was really easy for me to pick up foiling (after only 3-4 classes). Two way radios built into the helmets made it easy to communicate while riding and immediately correct errors I was making. I liked the F1 equipment that they use- very beginner friendly. And they also provided a professional photographer who took pictures of me foiling (free of charge), which was a nice touch. Overall highly recommended!!

Highly recommend this place! They’re super accomodating and have a large range of quality, recent gear. There was a day when I took some gear and the wind died - they could have charged me but they left it off my invoice even without me asking - was very much appreciated after a frustrating day!

Definitely one of the best Kite schools in Cabarete! Mainly because of the good rates and top notch equipment. These guys are using only brand new 2018 F One gear and are the only ones offering this luxury. They’re also super friendly and professional.

I recently went river tubing at Los Brazos and it was an absolute blast! The short hike through the jungle to the river was a great warm-up and the scenery was breathtaking. The inner tubes were sturdy and the current was gentle, making it a suitable activity for all skill levels. Our guides were knowledgeable and made sure we were all having a safe and enjoyable time. The experience was fantastic! Brandon's exceptional organizational skills shone through as he arranged transportation and made sure to provide us with delicious snacks and refreshing drinks. He went above and beyond in taking care of us and ensuring that everyone remained together and secure. Without a doubt, I would eagerly participate in the activity once more.

This is my fave spot in Cabarete because it serves the neighborhood AND sells delicious food thats Dominican and vegan. The food is legit good and the portions are generous. If you bring your own containers they put your to go food in there for a discount. We eat mostly anti inflammatory and it’s so nice to go to a restaurant where you can everything on the menu, no problem.

One of the best if not best beaches we have been to. Walking Cabarete beach is so peaceful and just an honour. People running, excercizing, water sports make it more interesting as well as the many Bars and Resturant which are mainly in the downtown section. The road is close at this point so many of the resturants/bars can be entered from the street and have an inside dinning area that opens out to seating on the beach. Youll find many expat, tourist from Canada, US and abroad. You"ll hear english spoken often with some Fench and a little German at times mixed in with Spanish of course. Frequently the waitresses and bar tenders speak English making it easier for us dummies that cant learn enough Spanish ;) If you want waves theres areas to go at The beach but if you want it more calm you"ll find that too. This makes it very unique and also with the gradgual incline into the water. Walking the many lit up resturants on the beach at night is a must often hearing live music or open mic.
