Art museum
Located in the former Darboussier sugar factory on the harbor of Pointe-a-Pitre, Memorial ACTe is a contemporary museum that serves as a powerful testament against slavery and a place for historical reflection. The museum offers exhibits on the Caribbean's slave trade, indigenous people, and the struggle for freedom. Its avant-garde architecture and display of contemporary Afro-Caribbean artworks make it an intriguing destination. Visitors can also explore urban art in the Carenage district after their visit.
Very good modern museum about the history of slavery. It was opened in 2015. All information is in French and English. Audio guide automatically starts in each new room. No bags are allowed in the museum. There are lockers by the entrance they cost 1 €.
Paul R — Google review
It was a great experience. Interesting and thought- provoking. The exhibits were interesting. For kids from 8-12 it was good. There was one minor issue the auto- guides got confused on which track to play. But a really good museum all in all.
Laura H — Google review
Absolutely fabulous. Informative, well presented; history of the greater Caribbean Islands through the eyes of slaves. Excellent contemporary artwork. Don't miss this museum.
JJG — Google review
The exhibits were set out nicely and the fact that they had a translator ear piece was kool however after paying 15euro to enter and they didn't have water in the washroom so they were closed was a big problem for me
Rickie R — Google review
Fantastic exhibition and the horrors of slavery. The temp exhibition of Antoine Nabajoth paintings was worth the entrance fee alone, loved them?
Chris W — Google review
Essential on the island, the memorial act is to be done without fail. Museum that traces the history of the island and slavery. It's very interesting I highly recommend it. Very modern architecture and design for the structure, very big inside and air conditioning more than functional, it refreshes. Full tour minimum required 30 minutes.

Loved the layout of the place. The way the history is shared ,it feels like you are literally there while it going on. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're a history buff, love art and culture.

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
The Aquarium of Guadeloupe, situated in the marina, is the largest aquarium in the Caribbean. It offers various activities such as ecotours, underwater strolls, ecological discovery courses, and even adventurous shark encounters at night. The intimate local aquarium showcases a diverse range of marine life including sharks and sea turtles.
Brilliant aquarium with a focus on local species. Loads of colourful tropical fish and it was amazing to see the turtles. If you’re going snorkelling while in Guadeloupe, this is really worth a visit to reflect on what you’ve seen out in the wild and it has lots of information about each species. Well worth a visit!
AlistairF — Google review
Small aquarium with focus on the local marine ecosystem. All written explanations are sadly in French only. The online audio-guide is available through the dedicated WiFi but without geolocation or other markers it’s hard to find the relevant content as one walks from one room to another. The entry price (15 euros) seems high compared to the size of the exhibit.
Pawel S — Google review
Very nice place and family friendly. The kids enjoyed coloring and displaying their art on their large screen. Not many animals but just enough to enjoy the experience.
Rosalyn H — Google review
This aquarium is correct but for this price it's so small and you can see small fish most of the time ... When you pay for this kind of price you deserve to have at least 1h our of visit but in 30 mn you have done...it's a shame because there is very interesting animals to see...
Neiyhdie N — Google review
Great little aquarium with a small shop, nearby bar and restaurant and lots of local species on display including turtles.
Bjørn — Google review
A great, enlightening and educational tour. Got immersed in the fauna and flora of the Caribbean Sea. You get to watch live fishes of various species including dolphins, sea horses, turtles, lobsters. Each station has it's narrated audio. Photos and videos can be taken but without flashes. The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is welcoming, warm and friendly. Make this a must visit place in Guadeloupe.
Gerard S — Google review
In size, it's quite small aquarium. But it manages to fit some sharks 🦈 in one place. Good enough to have "something to do" with kids when you're in Guadeloupe. Max spending time would be 1 hour max, so you can visit other places in one day.
Alda K — Google review
Small but really nice aquarium. Felt well thought out to me and there were lots of interesting sea animals to look at. Including two giant sea turtles that really look like out of this world.

Plage de la Datcha, located in the charming resort town of Le Gosier, is a picturesque beach known for its powdery white sand and turquoise waters. The area is lined with inviting bars and a Creole restaurant offering local flavors. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as parasols, restrooms, and private cabanas for a comfortable experience.
One of the best beaches on the south side of Grand Terre. Sandy, deeper water which allows for better swimming. Go to the right side, it's more intimate and you can take photos with the family of iguanas living there. Plus, if you continue walking for 100 more meters, you get to a gorgeous staircase which is very picturesque.

Nestled in the picturesque Marina of Bas-du-Fort, Le Jiss is a vibrant dining spot that captures the essence of Guadeloupe's coastal charm. As night falls, the restaurant transforms into a beautifully lit haven where guests can savor delectable Italian-inspired dishes while gazing at the serene waters and bobbing boats. The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering options, including standout pizzas and hearty entrecôtes accompanied by fresh salads and crispy fries.
Prawns were great but could've used a sauce. As a side a picked mashed potatoes with truffles and a fresh salad - both were excellent! 🤌🏼 Dark chocolate fondant was yummy but cold. Cosy atmosphere but loud pop music.

Such a cute restaurant. Beautiful decor and the food was amazing. Menu full of diverse options. The service was very friendly and quick. There was chickens walking around in the restaurant which was funny. Beautiful location.

Came for lunch. Two couples. Everything was very good. It’s a very busy place for a Thursday afternoon. We came early so everything was pretty quick. Each couple shared a dessert. It was more than enough. You cannot order pizza at lunch. They only serve it at night. Friendly server. Absolutely no complaints. Recommend.
Trent R — Google review
A perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful view with your meal. The simple yet stylish interior complements the view of the marina. Occasionally u might find a couple of the local chickens passing by to say hi. They won’t get close or bother anyone. Just adds to the island feeling. Had the salmon tempura for appetizer. Super good. Got the local fish fillet for my main course. Nothing crazy, but the presentation was fabulous. Don’t miss out on trying their delicious pina colada.

Best restaurant in Guadeloupe! We ate here twice. Nice view as well. Serving was fast, the meals are sufficient and delightful. Best desserts as well. Highly recommend!
Ioana I — Google review
It’s a place where you can go for casual drinks, go on a date, dinner with friends and/or family. There was a live band there when my husband and I were there on Friday. There are many choices on the menu, the cocktails and wine list have many options also. My husband ordered pizza with truffle, and thought it was just mediocre. We have eaten better pizza made in Guadeloupe, so the next time to go we won’t order pizza again. My dish was a roasted duck filet. It was alright, too much ingredients were put in it that I couldn’t taste the refinement of the duck meat. We ordered dessert. It was nicely presented. The server was nice, though she didn’t know anything about wine. We had to wait some time for someone to come talk to us about it. The host/manager was not friendly, but I didn’t want him to bother me with that, au contraire to my husband. Overall, it’s the happening place for people to come dine and drinks. I do like the vibe, and the food is above average. I would come back again but not often.
Titi E — Google review
Good location, nice view. However, staff could be more customer oriented. Our friend has a birthday , and guy from the bar didn't give a cent of discount. They are interested in you only as a paying customer.

Beach of Petit-Havre is an intimate cove with white sand and palm trees, offering opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, and stunning views of rugged cliffs. The beach is known for its black sand and is a great spot for snorkeling to observe sea turtles just 100 meters from the coast. It's recommended to visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon due to limited shade and parking space.
Great beach for families! There’s lots of space and showers to rinse off after swimming. It’s also a nice spot if you like surfing. Just be careful the current can be quite strong, especially if you have kids. The only downside is the seaweed in the water, which can be a bit annoying. Overall, it’s a beautiful beach we’ll be back! :)
Cece — Google review
No idea how this has such a high rating. The beach lives up to its "petit" name. There really is just a tiny usable bit and the water is full of seaweed, meaning people are really packed in there. As if that wasn't enough we saw TWO separate snakes in the water. No idea why nobody else in the reviews mentions the snake. Seems like an important point to me. Parking is also annoying and extremely limited compared to other beaches on the island. I suggest parking at the beach to the east, and then walking over.
Cool C — Google review

A small and fun little beach, though the road down to it is quite steep and not fun to walk back up). There is lots of sand and stones as well as coconut trees suitable for hammocks. Theres a great view of waves crashing against the side of some rocks and cliffs in the distance and a little trail to walk. There is also a public toilet and a few huts along with a restaurant/bar.

Plage de Saint-Félix

Public beach
Plage de Saint-Félix in Le Gosier is a charming and less crowded beach, watched over by pelicans. This beautiful stretch of white sand spans 500 meters. However, it's important to note that this slice of paradise on Grande-Terre is not very sheltered, so visitors should be mindful of sun exposure. The area offers stunning views of the sea and nearby attractions like Basse-Terre and Les Saintes.
Lovely beach. Easy access. Nice restaurant, the Pelican, in the harbour.

this seems to be a beach mostly used by locals which makes it less frequented - which we liked! the sea is a bit rougher than on other beaches but nevertheless beautiful. also lots of trees to give you some shade.
Avi _ — Google review
It's a bit confusing to find as there is a small beach on the left of the parking, which is not very welcoming. Boats parked everywhere and the whole little bay was full of algae. Then there is a beach on the right, which is much better and probably good for snorkeling, when there isn't much wind. if you wanna do some fitness, then you have the chance to use the tiny public outdoor gym with nice view over both beaches.

The Museum costumes and traditions in Le Gosier offers a unique and excellent experience for visitors. The museum showcases a variety of exhibits highlighting costumes through the ages, interclass and inter-Island differences, as well as the Creole Kitchen and House, providing insight into traditional life. Visitors are greeted by knowledgeable hosts who share engaging stories from their own family history, adding to the immersive experience. The museum also features a peaceful fruit and medicinal garden where visitors can watch an informative video summarizing their visit.
Really lovely museum, with very welcoming owners who add lots of interesting information and give a small tour. Fascinating and really gorgeous costumes on display! We really enjoyed our time there and watching a short video at the end!

Visited 29/12/23. Current entry €10 per person, have cash, no card machine. Attentive and knowledgeable host. In places the exhibits linked with her Family History which added to the experience. In addition to displays highlighting costumes through the ages, interclass and inter-Island differences the Creole Kitchen and House gave a good insight in to life as it was. The Audiovisual seen at the end of the visit was very informative. Merci Beaucoup

What a wonderful and personal museum this is to visit! They were closed by 1 hour, yet reopened just for us, and walked us through the entirety to explain everything, using English where required. They almost had as many questions of us, as he is a Professor of History and she is a Professor of English! Well worth it!

An excellent and unique museum experience in Le Gosier. My partner and I came late in the evening and had the entire museum to ourselves. The outside architecture is a lovely art deco and colorful. We were warmly greeted by Madame Camelia herself. She was extremely helpful and informative throughout the visit to the museum which ended in a video summery in the museum's peaceful fruit and medicinal garden, next to their hand made Casa Creole. Madame Camelia really knows her stuff, and I'd advise to ask her as many questions as possible. It was very impressive to see how she and her team were able to collect all of the clothing items, costumes, memorabilia and photos. Everything was placed chronologically and all ethnic cultures which create the Creole Guadeloupe culture, I felt were presented well. The museum kept well to the themes of traditional costumes and culture in Guadeloupe specifically. I would go back even just to visit her and her husband to say hello! Note: It's kid/family friendly and be sure to bring cash upon entry.

The worst bar in Guadeloupe!! they are very rude, it takes half an hour to order a beer. they don't let you pay cash because they don't have change but if you don't pay more than 7 euros you can't pay with a card. it's a beach bar but some people ( french) can enter without t shirt and others cant. Very rude people working there .I asked if there was a free table and they made me wait outside even though the place was empty.

La Baie des Pélicans is a hidden gem that captures the essence of laid-back island life. Nestled by the marina port of St Felix, this charming spot offers a delightful open terrace where you can soak in stunning sea views and listen to the gentle waves lapping at the shore. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it an ideal place to unwind with friends or family over hearty local meals. The menu features simple yet delicious homemade dishes that are sure to satisfy your cravings.
Nice open terrace and relaxing atmosphere—beautiful sea view and the soothing sound of the waves. If you’re looking for a festive vibe, enjoy your meal while experiencing special live music nights and cultural events. The staff is very nice, with leadership that is both kind and discreet. The main course takes a little while to arrive, but hey, you have time to enjoy your drink, the view, your friends, and good conversation. I even overheard a lady asking for a quicker service for her and her kids, (she was part of a 25 people group) and the waitress made sure to accommodate her request. I don’t understand some of the bad reviews about the $3.50 coffee—I’ve paid the same price at a simple bakery. As for that complaint about a $50–60 bill per person, you’d have to drink quite a bit to reach that amount! This place is a must-visit for both tourists and locals. It truly offers a great combination of good food, fair prices, and an amazing setting. It’s not fancy, it’s not super classy—it’s just a comfortable place where you can relax and enjoy, whether you’re dressed up or simply in your shorts and bikini. Could there be some improvement, yes sure, but Im sure they will as they go along, I think one of the challenge will be to have a constant level, but Im sure staffing challenges w it hard for business owner to always be on top of their game It is now one of our go to place

Grande-Terre, a hilly island in the Lesser Antilles, is a vibrant destination featuring lively cities, white-sand beaches, and stunning coral reefs. The eastern part of the island offers scenic views, the sounds of Zouk music, and unforgettable cuisine. Le Gosier, a popular beach town along the coast with picturesque mountain views of Basse-Terre in the distance, provides an ideal base for exploration.
I recently visited Grande Terre, and my trip was absolutely fantastic! A huge part of my enjoyable experience was thanks to the 'Guadeloup Travel Guide' by Antonio Bacca, which I purchased on Amazon. The guide provided invaluable insights, detailed maps, and helpful tips that made navigating and exploring Grande Terre so much easier. Shame about all the tourists that just don't make the effort, they miss so much and give a really bad impression of themselves... Thank you grand terre we loved you.

Guadeloupe consists of two main islands... Grande-Terre is more settled and a bit more touristy, while Basse-Terre is quieter (a lot of Basse-Terre is also national park). Fort Fleur d'Épée

Historical landmark
Perched on a hill overlooking National Highway N4, Fort Fleur d'Épée, dating back to the late 18th century, provides stunning panoramic views of Petit Cul-de-Sac Marin bay. As you travel towards Sainte-Anne along the highway, take a moment to unwind at Source de Poucet, the only freshwater spring in Grande-Terre.
Great viewpoint of the island. Fortifications inside the fort are not always open but worth a look when they are. Sometimes hosts cultural activities.
Timothy H — Google review
Fort Fleur d’Épée is a small historical site that played a role in guarding Pointe-à-Pitre and Guadeloupe during the 17th and 18th centuries. While it lacks standout features compared to other forts from this era, it’s worth visiting if you enjoy history or scenic views. The fort itself is fairly standard in design, with defenses typical of the time period. However, one unique detail is the graffiti etched into the walls of an underground passage, some of which dates back to the 1700s and 1800s. These marks add an intriguing glimpse into the lives of those who once occupied the site. The real highlight is the view. From the fort, you can enjoy sweeping vistas of La Plage de la Grande Baie and the Caribbean Sea to the south, making it a pleasant spot for photography or a quiet moment of reflection. Overall, Fort Fleur d’Épée offers a solid experience, particularly for those interested in local history or picturesque landscapes. While it’s not a must-see destination, it’s a pleasant stop if you’re in the area.

I think 4 stars is fair. The view is beautiful, the tunnel is really cool and it's FREE! Some of the staff also speaks English. On the downside, all the infomation placcards are only in French, there aren't very many buildings and it's a bit difficult to get to if you don't have a car. If you're taking the public bus, it's a steep uphill climb with many switchbacks. They should talk to the Synogogue about opening a shortcut through their property.

(Translated by Google) Small restaurant nestled in the heart of the city, with a discreet front that hides a nice surprise. The welcome is warm and respectful, which immediately puts you at ease. The pizzas are simply exceptional: the dough has that authentic bread taste that you find in the best pizzerias in Paris, and the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. A real treat! As a bonus, the diploma hanging on the wall, attesting to the pizza chef's participation in a pizza competition, inspires even more confidence. I will come back without hesitation! Nestled along the scenic Route des Hotels in Gosier, Guadeloupe, Le Ti Maki is a must-visit dining spot that captures the essence of local cuisine with a metropolitan twist. Open daily for lunch and dinner, this vibrant restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere where you can savor expertly crafted cocktails and delicious dishes. While it’s popular among locals and tourists alike—making reservations highly recommended—you'll quickly forget the hustle of passing cars as you immerse yourself in its lively ambiance.
If you're feeling fancy, Ti Maki is a strong choice. The menu is a bit more inventive and a bit more dedicated to local ingredients than other nearby restaurants. The prices are also much higher. The entire team was extraordinarily welcoming and thoughtful. This is a very popular restaurant, so a reservation is always a good idea.

It is just a lovely place to be! We were welcomed warmly, the music fits the laid-back style, everything was clean - perfect restaurant so far. From cocktails to food, all our questions were answered with a smile and also some time. You couldn't ask for better service. In the end, the cocktails, tapas, main courses and dessert were awesome. Especially the meat which we ordered bleu and it was spot on! We also had the rougail saucisse as main which was just as amazing as the steak. Big bonus point: they are able to speak perfect English which is not something you encounter on this island very much!

Great and cozy place with delicious food. The tapas appetizers were amazing and I had some calamari with a butter/garlic/parsley sauce and a trio of sides for the main dish, it was really tasty. One of the best dishes on our table that i would recommend. The place is nice and perfect for 2 people or a small group dinner. I really recommend this place if you're in the area.

Truly there are no words to express how delicious food is served in Ti Maki. After living almost 3 months in Caribbean this is the top one restaurant. Menu is not too long and the dishes are very tempting. I ordered beef carpaccio as a starter with a passion fruit sauce, and for a main dish calamari’s in garlic, which were salty but the sauce was extremely good (take rice/purée from sweet potatoes as a side!) and my boyfriend ordered black angus steak medium rare with French fries and salad, and sauce from foie gras. We were totally full, because dishes are quite big. Unfortunately I can’t come back because that was my last night in the Guadeloupe, but if I come back, it will be the first restaurant I will visit. 5/5

Very BAD food. Not fresh at all. wasted our money. conch was old/frozen and had a horrible taste and in a very thick overpowering sauce, probably to hide how bad the quality was. It is sad that they position themselves in Guadeloupe as fresh Creole cuisine. The colombo goat was just as bad. Full of veins and tendons. This place is horrible. Very disappointing. There is a sheet where you can scan the card... which we do because we have already been there for 10 minutes and we still don't have a card. The nice waitress comes to offer it to us afterwards and we tell her that we have already chosen thanks to this paper posted on the wall. She takes our order, my companion a vitamalt and me a red IG which also appears on the menu. The vitamalt arrives immediately and I wait, I follow up with this famous waitress... here I am for more than 1 hour and 45 minutes waiting for her. Another waitress who is also at the bar comes to ask me if I was waiting for my cocktail, I tell her yes, she asks me where I saw it.. I show her.. then tells me that she will make it all for me immediately. Nobody knows this cocktail... strange yet it is on the menu! I've been here for 2 hours, no food and even less "IG ROUGE" cocktail and my companion has already finished his drink. 2 hours of waiting to get our lobster dish which was still worth €65 and which is as small as a langoustine... we had to ask for the extras too and thank you, they arrived before we finished eating . My cocktail is finally here with a commercial gesture given the wait, thanks to this barmaid waitress who is nevertheless quite friendly! At the end of the meal, another waitress comes to clear us up and asks us if that was the case, I say no and she replies “that’s normal, there are only two of us”. You are understaffed, hire! I have nothing to do with it if there are only two of you. BIG BIG LACK OF ORGANIZATION!!!! The waitresses didn't even know who certain dishes or drinks were for. I had never been disappointed with this restaurant because for me it was a must since I was little... but honestly I don't know if I would come back. Tell yourself that the review, I had time to write it while waiting for my dish on site.

Plage De L'ilet Du Gosier is a small island located just off the coast of Le Gosier, Guadeloupe. It's a popular spot for snorkeling due to its shallow waters and coral reefs teeming with tropical fish and even some moray eels. Accessible by a short boat ride from the Datcha pier, this stunning little island can get crowded but is well worth the visit, especially in the morning.
6€ to go to and from the island, a short 5 minute boat ride with the ferry from the pier of Gosier. Great vibes and snorkeling if you find the good spots with coral, worth a visit!

Great island vibe. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids ages 11,9 and 5. We used Kaya kool and kayaked over ourselves. It took about 15-20 mins to get there and about 10-12 on the way back. The restaurant is delicious they were able to accommodate us without a reservation but I think it’s highly Recommended to make one. We got there around 1 pm and stayed until 3:45. Not too crowded. Easy walk to the lighthouse for a nice view and ocean breeze.
Rosalyn H — Google review
This is a stunning little island. Yes, it can get crowded, but still well worth the visit especially if you come in the morning and find a place on the west side of it. To get here, you take a boat from the peer next to Datcha. It costs 6E/per person and takes 5 minutes. It runs between 9AM and 5PM. On the beach there's a restaurant which serves great food. Its only drawback is the long service time. You queue up at 11:15 to select the food you'd like and make a reservation for later on. I recommend this as the amount is limited so you might not get what you want. So is the menu. The whole food is brought up by boat at 10AM. The north side where there's a larger stretch of sand is windy, the west is hidden between trees and it's perfect for pictures. The water is shallow and full of coral, so you might want to bring shoes if you're sensitive.
Dan S — Google review
Great for families. Find the dock where you can hop on the pontoon boat get your return ticket for a few euros and enjoy the tiny atoll for a few hours. Avoid crowded days for best experience.
R G — Google review
I think it is quite overrated. Forget the idea of an exclusive paradise island. There are a lot of people and the beach is quite small (you are almost walking onto each other to reach the sea). The first boat (9am) was 45 minutes late and the queue on the pier was obviously really long.
Marco B — Google review
This little island is amazing! So many fishes and the water is so clear. You can go there to spend the whole day.
Manuela C — Google review
Nice plage, great views. Huge plus is the proximity of all the little restaurants and cafes of Le Gosier. The only minus is there's some seaweed floating in the water (that we have not encountered on any of the beaches on the western shores of Basse-Terre) and the bottom is partially rocky.
* A — Google review
The restaurant is serving everything in plastic - cups, plates, cutlery! That is very sad, but I see it a lot of that practice across the island. Something should really be done - either on the city level, but also by the owners themselves - especially given that the restaurant is a rip off - the grilled fish which is everywhere 15-20EUR, is here 30EUR. I hope the place will be taken over by someone who cares for the nature, because the island itself is lovely.

Cute little island off of Gosier. There was a small pontoon boat that took us to and from the island for 5 Euro each. Not much to do on the island other than enjoy the beautiful beach. It can get a little crowded, so I would suggest going early. There is a small cafe that serves food and drink on the island near the dock. I would recommend it as a nice way to spend a few hours on the beach.

Nice beaches. Visited on a saturday. The island has a lighthouse and a few abandoned buildings. No toilets. Restaurant open for lunch. Boats to and from the island every 30 minutes at a price of 5 € there and back.
Mikaela B — Google review
Overrated. Very very crowded!!! Hard to find a decent square meter on the beach. 3/4 of the island is rocky and impracticable for swimming. Otherwise it’s a spectacular sand and coral pieces into the sea. It worth maybe one hour visit.

Le Petit Miami is a pleasant place to visit in the evening as well. They serve substantial and delectable dishes, including meat and fish options. The staff is excellent and the music selection is fantastic. The warm welcome and positive atmosphere create a great vibe, while the chicken is particularly tasty. Overall, Le Petit Miami offers delicious food accompanied by friendly service, making it an enjoyable experience for all visitors.
One of the best meals we had on a week's stay in Guadeloupe, at reasonable price. Looked nothing special from outside and quiet. The hustler outside luckily didn't put us off as we were attracted by the good reviews, so went in. Relaxed with good service and excellent food.

Le Petit Miami was a disappointing experience. We waited over an hour for grilled fish and chicken, with no apologies for the delay. The waiters’ amused and disrespectful attitude made things worse. Additionally, there’s no toilet on-site, and the nearby public one is often closed. Overall, not recommended.

A little difficult to find using Google maps, as the restaurant is basically in a dirt parking garage with food trucks. My teen son picked this restaurant and I was skeptical upon arriving. Just go with the flow and don’t expect everything on the larger menu to be offered that night. My son wanted the beef hamburger and I ordered a glass of white wine along with the rest of our meal. A different waiter returned to our table and suggested the chicken burger and the rose wine as substitutes. I was also very encouraged by our original waiter to order the whole fish fried. He absolutely was insistent which I thought was hysterical so I went with it. It was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. The fish was delicate and not fried. Maybe pan fried? The black multi grain rice had a lovely light coconut aroma. My husband and son were both complimentary of their chosen dishes. The service even at 6:00 is languid. If you want a superb meal in a restaurant that all the locals recommend and can forgo the parking lot location, you will have a memorable meal. Go with an open mind and enjoy. I think it’s the type of place Anthony Bourdain would’ve loved.

Creole restaurant
La Cabane du Pêcheur is a charming semi-gastronomic restaurant nestled right by the beach, specifically located at 49 Impasse de Bas du Fort. This delightful eatery specializes in seafood dishes, with a standout being the grilled lobster tail served with sugar cane butter—a true culinary highlight! While seafood takes center stage, meat lovers will also find refined options on the menu. The ambiance is inviting and perfect for an evening out, especially as it offers stunning waterfront views.
La Cabane du Pêcheur is lovely little restaurant literally right on the waterfront on the grounds of the Hotel Fleur d'Epée. Staff was very attentive and friendly even as the place got busier on a Saturday night. We had a melon gaspacho starter on the daily menu which was a refreshing start to the meal paired with a ginger-gin cocktail. Main course we had a Dourade Royale fish and a three meat sampler (lamb, steak, duck) both which were very tasty with nice presentation. One word of warning: the Cafe Gourmand has three very large desserts, not the 3 small tastes you get in France; it really should be shared by 2-3 people!

We had a lovely dinner at La Cabana. As a starter my husband and I shared Accras de languistine, which was quite good. Then we continued with St Jacques & salmon and finished with Cafe Gourmand. All were deliciously prepared and served. The service was very good (apart from some minor mishaps) and the atmosphere lovely. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Deniz V — Google review
A nice place to end a day with good food, nice staff and great location (try arriving earlier than later to catch the sunset). The "langoustine" (large prawns) and fish tartare were good, as were the drinks. However, the "accras de langoustine" were a bit disappointing with many of them lacking "langoustine" in them.

Not bad for an otherwise challenging restaurant scene on this island. Met warmly by the hardworking staff and were even allowed to bring some pasta for our difficult eater of a child. Good appetizers (especially the lentils with foie gras) and inventive main plates that could have been cooked just a little bit better (the other reviews were right - the fish was over cooked). Very good wines on the menu as well! So, happy to come back. We definitely liked the ambiance as the restaurant was on a deck over the beach.

Worst restaurant experience ever! Nice place, looks cozy … once you are sitting then the show starts. 20 minutes until you have to beg for a drink, than the aperitif come straight with the wine. In between starters and the main dish count 1 hour or more. Highly not recommended!

Casa Datcha is a beachfront bar and restaurant located on the Datcha Beach. The establishment offers a continuous service every day, except Thursdays, featuring fresh smoothies and salads made from local products. While the prices are considered high by some visitors, the venue's eco-friendly approach ensures no waste ends up in the ocean. Guests can enjoy refreshing drinks such as smoothies and frozen rosé while lounging on bean bags or beach chairs right by the water.
Nice vibe to chill in the afternoon, cool service, the cocktails are simply amazing!! The food is good too, I recommend

Nice beach bar like atmosphere. Did not get a chance to properly eat here, only had some rilettes de poison to accompany the tea punch. Nice place to watch the sunset. Too bad they close at 7pm.

Food was meh. But the smoothie was really good. Nice options on the menu though. I had the egg benedict and i wouldn't have it again. Service was also questionable. The waiter brought me the wrong thing - Not was I ordered and it wasn't the wrong table he just didn't punch it right which it happens but still annoying as we had to catch a flight so I had was he brought me. Cute location by the beach. Not very comfortable but it does it, I found the restaurants options very limited in Guadeloupe.

Drinks are amazing (try smoothie, frozen rose) some of the best I've ever had. Food was very mediocre i recommend just getting drinks here. They have beam bags and beach chairs in the sun on the sand right by the ocean.. you can tan and drink!

Nestled along the Marina Bas-du-Fort, Zoo Rock Café offers a laid-back atmosphere to savor rum and witness stunning sunsets. The venue features live music on weekends and hosts lively themed parties during the week. With an onsite distillery, it's a fun spot to unwind with drinks and dance under the moonlight until dawn breaks. While awaiting their menu, visitors can explore nearby dining options or contribute by sharing available food and drink offerings.
Amazing skewers, the roquefort sauce and the garlic butter on the jacket potato side were all so tasty. Great service and friendly staff. Would go back.

The food is really good at least the brochettes but don’t drink the cocktails…they are horrible. I went with my husband and his family who are French. There was a woman working who came to take our order and I asked can I speak in English (I am not French and can’t speak much of it) She said NO and started talking to other members on our table. All evening while serving us she did not look at me or talk a word to me once. Made me feel like she hates women or something. Interesting experience

The food - oh my goodness!!! Delicious!!!! The bartenders are so funny!!! Good drinks! Staff are efficient, not the most polite but they are sufficient. Same with the restroom/toilet/washroom. Lots of parking. Everyone is accepted. All ages, ethnicities, sexualities. Good vibes!!! Decent music.

We had fish brochettes which were well cooked but overpriced. Don’t like their policy to make you order another appetiser for 9 eur if two people want to share a brochette. The service was not good, the waitress did not have the right attitude, even though she knew one of the members of our table. I’m sure there are better places around to have dinner & a chat.

Located near the major hotel complexes of Gosier and not far from Pointe-a-Pitre, Casino du Gosier is a popular spot for locals. It's important to note that gambling is only allowed for those over 18 years old and can lead to addiction. For a complete casino experience, visitors can book a table at the restaurant located on the floor above. The casino offers traditional games such as slot machines and roulette, as well as entertainment and dining options.
It's your typical casino, had a great night and only lost a few Euro's you pay for drinks and you do need your passport if your from Canada or the US. There was no problem with checking in at the front desk Good Luck

Nice place. People used to stay too long On the slot At the bar, one small bottle of water is 3€ ! CRAZYYYY Also, they do not put air conditioner and the place is really hot.

Well, it's a pretty small casino 🎰. Some slot machines are newish, others were a bit older (not the fancy Willy Wonka slot machines). Separate room for semi live roulette ◼️🟥. No live tables available. Have a bar with drinks/snacks. It's okay for a couple of minutes, but - in my opinion - nothing for an entire day.

shockingly horrible treatment. rudest snottiest staff i have ever encountered on this island. handed my canadian passport and the guy actually made a face in disgust. if you want to be treated like garbage, go here. most abusive casino ive ever been to. terrible casino, absolutely avoid this place. never again. its not even large inside. one table for each game. the staff at the tables wont give you the time of day to place your bets. foreigners are ignored. you can droo stacks of money or chips, doesnt matter. foreigners are not welcome. i was hassled relentlessly by the staff for every little thing. they are aggressive to foreigners. i had 4 separate staff hassle me within 15 minutes for absolute nonsense. you must go in a designated area to consume alcohol. i was told to sit away from the betting tables. a normal casino will bring you free drinks to the table.not this place. they will kick you out for having your drink at the table. if you try to ask your spouse to hold your drink while you gamble, they'll kick them out instead. i couldn't even watch my husband gamble. they hate foreigners here and they make sure you know it. i got yelled at for putting a foot up on the footstool. i got intentionally bumped into when staff walked by. i got yelled at so many times by theor staff i cried. i cant even say there was one staff member who was nice. absolutely horrible experience and i will never ever recommend this place to anyone. never.

Finally got the opportunity to see the inside. Free entrance on the occasion of the carnival costumes display. Would have liked to see more information about this particular event in social media if this is not being done. A few people who live in Guadeloupe weren't aware, this is a pity. This said, hoping there will be a lot more events similar to this one so that we look at more than the story of John Perse.

(Translated by Google) The Saint-John Perse Museum is a cultural and historical place which pays tribute to the Guadeloupean poet and diplomat, Nobel Prize winner for literature in 1960. The museum is housed in a beautiful 19th century colonial residence, classified as a historic monument, which recalls the buildings of New Orleans. You can admire the poet's personal objects, as well as Creole costumes and period furniture. The garden houses the poet's mask, made by the sculptor Andras Beck. The museum also offers temporary exhibitions and cultural events. The Saint-John Perse museum is a pleasant and informative place, which allows you to discover the life and work of a great writer, as well as the history and culture of Guadeloupe. Worth seeking out if you're in the area. The food is delicious, high quality and hard to find anywhere else. The team is extremely welcoming and thoughtful too, and happy to speak English. Typically Caribbean fish and seafood, like ouassous and snapper, are some of the menu's highlights. The homemade flan coco was also delicious. You can take the opening hours with a pinch of salt - officially the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays, but was open and full on that day.

the place has a nice deco, overall the ambience is very cool, and easy going. the service is great, drinks great, but the food is rather bland. they need to improve on the salt level, the grill fish was perfectly cooked, but salt was missing. same with the apetizer: cod. the dessert was spot on, creme brule, that was great. overall, the place needs some minor adjustments, but cool place overall

Great ambience - a stream-shaped pond with fish runs through the restaurant :D Unfortunately it's also a great place to catch lung cancer - smokers have priority. Update after eating: the food is great. Highly recommended. Four stars, minus one for the smokers.

How disappointing! We had high expectations especially as we arrived and saw the beautiful decor and location. However the food was absolutely terrible. There was no taste to anything, even our sides (white rice and tagliatelle) were not properly cooked and bland. Unfortunate because the service was great. Avoid as you will end up paying a high price for very subpar food.
Farzana — Google review
The waiter got our order wrong and took down 3 more meals than there were people in our party and some a la carte items to the tune of an extra 266 euro. Even though this food never left the kitchen we were held at the restaurant until we paid for services and goods undelivered. Give this place a wide berth.
Kristof C — Google review
We dined in, a group of 20. Upon paying there was some issue with our bill: Apparently, the kitchen expected a certain number of fixed menu orders, but some of them were changed to a-la-carte orders throughout the evening. Everyone paid for themselves, but at the end we were told we were missing payment for the altered fixed menu ones. The restaurant would not let the few of us left there leave before the 260 euros on those fixed menus, which never left the kitchen, were paid in full. Our local host could not get them to agree on any settlement but us paying for food not served. Add to that a terrible service, full of mistakes and attempts to avoid serving parts of the fixed menu whenever possible and you get a very disappointing experience. We are sure none of us would recommend the place after this. It's a shame because the food is quite ok.

I went to Guadeloupe on a leisure trip with two of my friends in mid-November. I fell upon this restaurant after looking at reviews while planning my trip. The ambiance is chic, and we had a nice view on the pier. I had the chiktay d'avocat for an appetizer and the steak de marlin for the main dish. The food was exquisite, and the service was stellar, our server was lovely. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits the island. Thank you so much for the service, mèsi anpil! Tasteless yet very expensive food. Appart from the view to the marina, this place isn’t worth eating in. I’d recommend only for a drink or coffee. The 23€ gambas dish I ordered was tasteless, the fries that came with it arrived cold. The customer service provided was kept to a minimum.
