Historic Walking Areas
La Pila Park, located in the heart of Tequisquiapan, offers a serene green space perfect for relaxation and leisure. During the week, it provides a tranquil atmosphere, while weekends see the park come alive with various festivals, including the renowned Wine & Cheese Festival. The park features children's play equipment, peaceful areas to unwind, public restrooms, and occasional vendors.
A large public area that has a plethora of kids play equipment and quiet area to just be. A public washroom and some vendors are there. There's also a waterslide that was not in use at that time. Great place to visit, but please be cognisant of the closing time otherwise you would get locked into the park.

Part of Mexico's magic pueblos. We love these places. There is a lot to see and learn. The food is excellent.

A very friendly and picturesque spot that portrays what Tequisquiapan was like before the water levels dropped because of overbuilding and the introduction of multinational corporations.

This is a mid-size park in the town of Tequisquiapan. The day we visited the park was full with lots of visitors and there was a nice exhibit of luxury cars. There are a few places to eat around the park that do offer local food at a cheap price. The trees are home to many large species of birds that harmonize the park very well. This park is home to the National Fair of the Cheese and Wine. There is an area with traditional kid games as well, with plenty of swings and slides. We loved the umbrella covered corridor next to the kids playground. The only reason I give it three stars is the place could use some cleanup, there was a lot of glass shards from broken bottles, wood and other dangerous debris from the wine fair.

Festival
The Feria Nacional del Queso y el Vino Tequisquiapan is a popular event held in late May and early June, offering an array of activities such as tastings, lectures, competitions, and workshops. Visitors can learn about Mexican wines and various cheese brands while enjoying music and dance performances. Although there's an entrance fee and the requirement to purchase a tasting glass, the event provides an excellent opportunity to explore different wine houses and cheese producers.

(Translated by Google) Good event to learn about wines made in Mexico and some brands of cheeses and hams. I consider the price a little high, you have to pay the entrance fee and necessarily buy a glass for the tasting, they don't allow it with other glasses, or with food or drinks. Prices per bottle range from $250 to $1,000. Still, with the right company and a good attitude, this event is an excellent option to spend the afternoon.

(Translated by Google) The grass is very damaged, so it is highly recommended to take a sheet or something to sit on, otherwise you will be harassed. You can bring your own glasses to taste since they will not be served in disposable glasses, or failing that you will have to buy a glass for $100 pesos. The variety of wines is good, the price is regular. They accept cards, but in some businesses they charge you an additional 2% for it. Admission is cash only and costs $250. You have to try not to arrive with food and/or drinks since they will make you throw them away, unless you hide them well 😜 In general it is an event that is worth knowing, but yes, one must be prepared to be surrounded by many people. Also, for parking if you like you can leave your car around the center, which is free of charge (except 20 pesos for the coming and going), but you have to walk quite a bit to get to the event.

If you're looking for a delightful cultural experience, "México ¡me encanta!" is an absolute gem that you shouldn't miss. Nestled in Tequisquiapan, this charming museum showcases an impressive collection of miniature scenes that beautifully depict Mexican culture and traditions. Although it may appear small at first glance, you'll find yourself captivated by the intricate details and creativity on display. Each exhibit tells a story about everyday life in Mexico, from bustling markets to traditional festivities.
A really nice little museum with some incredible models with amazing detail well worth visiting if you are in town.

What a beautiful and magical collection. Our 7 and 4 year olds LOVED looking at every scene. It was almost like a massive game of I Spy. Highly recommend it for families and anyone who enjoys miniatures. Totally worth the cost ($50 MXN).

Beautiful museum. The quality and details of the pieces are incredible. It doesn't look that big but there is actually so much to see, you will want to stop in front of every displays. Amazing way of discovering or re-discovering Mexican culture and tradition, way of living and all the typical places, shops and others from Mexico. Ambiance is very good, friendly, and you can see they really love and are passioned about what they are creating, and it reflects on the museum displays. Highly recommended!

A beautiful experience in Tequisquiapan !! The most entertaining miniature museum of the Mexico culture. Definitely a must on your next visit to Tx.

An amazing feat of creativity and devotion, the entire museum was basically created by a single woman who sometimes works at the door. She's extremely friendly and her enthusiasm for her work is inspiring. Please support this museum by visiting and talking to her, since the mexican government has done nothing at all to promote or help.

Parish St. Mary of the Assumption is a beautiful church with captivating architecture both inside and out, featuring a blend of different styles and materials. The entrance is simple yet inviting. The altar and nave are adorned with Roman columns and volcanic stone corners, creating a stunning sight. It's a popular spot for weddings, as witnessed by the wedding procession accompanied by mariachis in the plaza outside. Despite some disorganization during events, the church remains an essential part of Tequisquiapan.
Beautifully church with interesting architecture both inside and outside... Combining different styles and material, very simple at the entrance. The altar and nave are beautiful with Roman columns intermixed with volcanic stone corners and adornments. We were there on a Sunday, so there were baptisms and a wedding, the wedding celebration came out to the plaza with mariachis parading and serenading the happy couple..... lots of restaurants a d benches by the shaded trees, enjoy

A perfect day trip to a historic little town. Tequisquiapan has a charming market with beautiful handmade crafts and amazing artisanal cheeses. It’s an easy place to enjoy whether you’re traveling solo, with your partner, or bringing the whole family. Warm, friendly, and full of character. Definitely worth the visit!

Was here for a wedding. Beautiful place both inside and out; but a bit tight on the timing of things. As the wedding procession left, hearse rolls up to the main door... A little awkward, but no doubt this place is a mainstay in Tequisquiapan. There is free public wifi in the square just outside the church in the square which is a large and community gathering place. Much more populated in the evening though.

Ricardo L — Google review
A lovely church set in a traditional, authentic, beautiful pedestrian plaza. Unfortunately the unusually loud and distorted recording of bells played three times per day disrupts the genuine ambience of the town. When it sits quietly on the plaza and during the times it chimes the natural bell, it offers a serene presence of love and grace in the world. One year later, the church is playing pleasant tunes at a more reasonable volume.

This place is awful. We waited years until somebody will clean for us the table. When they were cleaning it, they put dirty fabric from table to the bread, and after tried to put bread at table back. Higiene level is terrible. First they brought fondu, and 20 minutes after - bread for it, and some bread had moho (hongos) of greet colour, rotten bread!. Never took out old plates.

Worst service ever... Make yourself a favor and avoid this place. There are amazing places around with tasteful options. Staff is rude and it feels like you need to beg for service. Food is mediocre, just not worth the price, even though is not high, is just not worth it. Try the places right to the main church... Thousands times better...

Nestled just a block away from Kpuchinos, Chocolate Molinillo is a delightful café that captures the essence of Tequisquiapan. With its inviting outdoor patio, it's the perfect spot to savor a rich latte or indulge in their delectable cajeta gelato while enjoying live music on select evenings. The menu boasts an impressive array of 30 items, including seasonal drinks and freshly baked pastries that are made daily.
This cafe is close to centro and was a short walking distance from our hotel. We are so happy that we found them because their coffee was AMAZING! We made it a point to start our mornings here during our stay in Tequisquiapan. Not only did they have excellent coffee, lattes, and other beverages, but we also tried their food. Their sandwiches were delicious and granola bowl fantastic. They also have a small store that sells all kinds of local products, from coffee, local crafts, to creamy white honey (we bought the honey because we tried it at one of the wineries we visited and it was so delicious). Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and they can provide everything to-go if needed. They have seating both outside but also in a nice patio in the back that is quite hidden, so don't forget to look! My boyfriend and I had the whole back patio to ourselves and it was very serene and tranquil while we enjoyed our coffee and food. They accept credit cards and reasonably priced. Overall, very highly recommended for all those who visit Tequisquiapan!

My favorite coffee place in Tequisquiapan. The coffee is excellent and they also have great sandwiches and pastries. Don't miss the flan! You can sit at the tables in front on the pedestrian street for some people watching or get one of the more private table inside or in the back patio.

The BEST coffeeshop in Tequis! There are so many great options here as well as some seasonal drinks as well as ice cream. Inside they also sell amazing pastries and baked goods made that day as well as baking instruments and ingredients. Come here for a great iced tea in the summer or something warm in the winter. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating, perfect for people watching and passing the time!

I was there just last week. I tried their chocolate brownie and it was dry. The vegan carrot cake and it was tasteless. They also have ice cream and I decided to treat my son a chocolate one, as it was the end of our vacations. Just after having paid and he had already started to eat it, I realised that it said on the whiteboard to the side that the chocolate flavour ice cream and another flavour I don't recall which one were "Sin Azúcar" that is something I have learnt to mistrust, because it means a substitute has been used. We were in a rush to hit he road to avoid traffic and I thought just for this one time I could let it be. When I tried the ice cream it was extremely sweet and after an hour or so my son started throwing up in the car several times and it was just the ice cream coming out... we were in the middle of the highway at night... that was a lot fun !

I have visited La Luna Terraza twice and I must say that the service is exceptional and the drinks are fantastic! The establishment itself has a very attractive ambiance, but what truly sets it apart is the attentive staff. Juan, the captain, is always on top of things, constantly checking in and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Chef Javier also goes above and beyond by personally visiting tables to ensure customer satisfaction. These little touches make all the difference.
We travel a lot and this place offered tastes that were very unique and delicious. Don’t miss taco el guero!
Norma L — Google review
Beautiful place great view and great bar. Two stars mainly because they overcharge the price of tacos! $117 per taco gobernador with only 3 small shrimp in a big tortilla even after asking why that price and claiming they where "well served", $117 for an octopus tostada, not bad general taste but the octopus is overcooked (chewy). If they are a place for fish tacos they should know how to cook octopus. We ordered as well some tuétanos which they offered as an entry but arrived last, understandable given the time it take to cook them. They looked great, as they where going to be super tasty but, they needed more salt and I'm not a salty person, it is very rare for me to ask for salt. The reason why my review sticks with 2 stars is that they used so much rosemary in the bones that they make them taste only to tortilla-unsalted-rosemary. In my opinion: the tuétanos have a very mellow flavor and a well executed one just need some salt, a small spoon and a good tortilla, not even salsa.

A must visit in Tequis! Alex the owner chef stopped by the table to introduce himself. The story of him and his brothers opening the restaurant to pay tribute to his father, Mr Wonderful! The service, view, food, cocktails and music all 5 star! We will definitely be back!

A very cute place that has a great view. Pricing is definitely up there so it's not for budget travelers. When we arrived they were closing the downstairs area and even though we were dining upstairs well before closing time it felt like we were being rushed. Food was good but nothing to write home about.

Very good place if you want to enjoy the traditional Mexican food and drinks. The service was good, the staff is able to talk in English if you need it. The quality of the food and drinks is it good and the prices are fair. The location is very nice, specially if you are sitting on the top Terraza, you will be able to se part of the plaza and the church.

Food -average. Guacamole with chapulines great but las tostadas with atún, no good! Not a place for ordering steak...raw on the inside and burnt on the outside. The pink mole is like a straberry milkshake. I guess there are better places in the area.

I had two very good white wines here but the portions were very small and expensive. The ambiance and view here is nice but my food was only average. The french fry appetizer was poor. The cream of poblano was decent but the most expensive meat on the menu was only average. Perhaps the most disappointing thing was that the waiter overcharged me on the tip. My friend's Horchata was good as was her taco.

Great place, great food, great ambience. Would definitely recommend, one of the best restaurants in Tequisquiapan and with an amazing rooftop
Carlos B — Google review
Really great restaurant with a rooftop terrace that looks over the city plaza and cathedral. The food was incredibly tasty and the waitress was super nice.

We have always enjoyed this restaurant since it's opening. Good seafood is hard to find in central Texas and this place is a real treat. The tapas style seafood selections are taste sensations, super creative, and the atmosphere is relaxing with comfortable seating. The latest addition of the rooftop is super nice, very swanky. We enjoyed a meal up there while a thunder storm was rolling in over the mountains, so beautiful. Delicious!

Termas del Rey is a water park that offers an array of attractions such as water slides, pools, and play areas. In addition, it provides tent campsites for those who prefer to stay overnight. The park also features BBQ grills and fast food options for dining convenience. Ample parking space is available onsite. Visitors can save money by purchasing tickets online and presenting their printed copies along with identification upon entry. Children taller than 130 cm are charged the same admission fee as adults.
A great day at the water park. The pool water seemed to be heated as it was a comfortable temperature. Several pools, the splash pad and some slides were closed - may be due to the early season so not as many people? So if you are looking for a specific slide or the wave pool maybe call ahead to check what’s open. There was definitely enough to keep my kids busy for the day though. Lots of shaded palapas. You can bring in your own food and drinks so plan ahead. The cafe does have fast food and it was fine but it would have been great to bring in a picnic. The change rooms and bathrooms were simple but clean.

My kids had a blast here. Unlike water parks in Canada or USA there are less if any lifeguards or staff watching the slides. So you need to make sure the person in front of you clears the ride before you start. Also water flow varies so some slides that are fast are slow at other times of the day and you may need to walk or move yourself down half the ride. When we went one slide was closed. Be safety conscious when you go

Lovely place to spend some good time with the family. I need to come back very soon . The facilities are awesome!

Lots of parking. Entry is cheaper if bought online and printed out, need to take ID. Children above 130 cm pay the same as adults.Water was moderate temperature, not warm but not cold. Clean changing and shower areas. Food and drinks permitted inside but no glass bottles allowed. Carry own towels. Only drawback is that there is NO LOCKER facility!

Horrible why do they call it ‘termas del Rey’ iif there isn’t aguas termales my mom was severely sick and wanted to get in and there was no aguas termales why do they call it that if there is no aguas termales andd the wave Pool is very bad barely any waves every 15 mins what if someone was so excited to get in then it stops it’s almost 20 mins to wait for the waves to come back horrible horrible don’t go here

I enjoyed it, it was crowded on Easter but it’s okay
