The guy on the entrance was utterly rude, didn't want to sell tickets in advance because their next guided visit was half an hour later, despite being a public museum they said they have no restroom service. Such a bad attitude of the guy in the front desk when I just asked a question about the price and content of the museum.

So fun, interesting. There were guides that were able to speak a rough translation of English but there are lots of pictures and things to see. You can get the idea. The fun came in when they gave the group a cooking lesson and demonstrated and we all had a "hands on" lesson to cook our own pastes which we later cooked & consumed. The kids really loved it. Place is clean and nice. COLD! So be prepared for the altitude and the very chilly temps!!

The town has lots of silver stores in tradition with the silver mines (now no longer in use).

It's a beautiful place, crowded on Weekend but it's worth to go on week days. Good food, drinks and delicious dessert.

We made a quick stop in Mineral Del Monte on our way to Tolantongo. It's a beautiful town with English architecture and a lot of charm. While there we tried pastes, a local specialty. They are pastries filled with sweet or savory ingredients, we preferred the sweet ones. We would have loved to stay longer and explore the town and surrounding area a little more.
