The Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre in Blenheim, New Zealand, is a must-visit for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs. The center features two captivating exhibitions: "Knights of the Sky" showcasing an impressive collection of WWI aircraft and memorabilia from Sir Peter Jackson's personal collection, and "Dangerous Skies" which delves into the lesser-known stories of WWII on the Eastern front.
What a credit to the contributors and display creators of what would be one on the best displays of aircraft I have ever seen, and I have been to a number of aviation displays. Having Peter Jackson's creative team on hand really put the realistic touch to a huge collection of aircraft. One thing that was certainly different from other displays was the collection of German aircraft and historical artifacts. Never have I seen this before. The floor staff inside the displays were knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately, the staff outside weren't when trying to get information re the coming Easter Airshow, bit like extracting teeth.

Well worth a visit here. Many hours of work gone into this set up. Plenty of free parking. Good little Cafe, light and airy. Souvenir shop also. Bathrooms clean and fresh. The Stalingrad experience in a replica bombed building enduring a German air force attack is quite unique.
Gavin S — Google review
Highly recommend stopping here! Although be prepared, we went in expecting to be in and out in under an hour, we were there over 3 hours. Also pay the extra and check out both exhibits, the history here is very interesting and well presented with interesting facts and information!
Donna B — Google review
Absolutely worth the time to go through both exhibitions. We spent 2 hours here. The short cinema experience in the WW2 is very informative.

What a fantastic location. I am so happy we decided to go here and have a look, I found a bookme special too which was even greater. If you are passing through or staying in Blenheim, this is a MUST! We spent 1.5hrs there and it was just enough.
Quinton K — Google review
Aviation and history buffs, this place is a must. WW1 actual planes as well as replicas, then onto WW2 planes. Loads of information and stories, being part sponsored by Sir Peter Jackson the sets are of Hollywood standard.
Dorian W — Google review
We only went through the WW1 exhibit but I thoroughly loved it. The planes, statues, scenery and information was a sight to see.

The Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre is an absolute must-visit for anyone with even the slightest interest in history, aviation, or immersive storytelling! The museum’s breathtaking exhibits, featuring meticulously restored aircraft and lifelike dioramas, bring the heroism and drama of both World Wars to life in a way that is truly unparalleled. The attention to detail is extraordinary, with Peter Jackson’s cinematic touch making each scene feel as if you’ve stepped straight into history. From rare warbirds to captivating personal stories, every display is crafted with passion and authenticity, making this one of the most engaging and unforgettable aviation museums. Smallish in scale but nice vibe, very friendly stall holders and quirky stalls such as the gerbera stall at $1 per stem and the lady selling dehydrated vegetables, soups and fruits for tramping. All with 100% natural & tasty. The vegan chai stall Mamma Lous with hot, delicious apple fritters or mushroom. Some druit stalls with excellently priced pears and other local fruits. The usual 2 or 3 coffee stalls, handmade knives etc. All in all, well worth it if they maintain a decent number of stalls though 9am a late start for this kind of market so perhaps they're all on a vineyard tour on Saturdays...

Brilliant Sunday market to go to on a Sunday morning to catch up with friends/family and to peruse lots of lovely fresh produce and items to buy. Great atmosphere and stalls.

A great family 👪 event with the usual farmers market stalls including barista coffee ☕️, fresh vegetables, organic eggs 🥚 and quality baking 😋
Graeme W — Google review
Koromiko eggs are the best eggs on the South Island! Extremely nice guys on the market stall, and if you check out their Facebook page their hens are extremely well looked after. The espresso stall did excellent iced coffee and their peach iced tea was the best I've had. Veg stalls were all great, but were selling out after an hour already so get there early to avoid disappointment. Would definitely return, getting there at 9am next time.

Seymour Square is a charming park in the heart of Blenheim, New Zealand. It boasts a historic Clock Tower and fountain war memorials, making it a significant historical and cultural site. Visitors can start their exploration at Seymour Square and then follow the walkway to discover Pollard Park and Riverside Park, eventually reaching the tranquil Taylor River Reserve with its lush greenery and native flora. For those seeking more adventure, a half-day walk to Taylor Dam and lake is an option.
Beautiful gardens with plenty of seats to sit on in the sun and enjoy your beautiful sunny day in Blenheim. Beautiful clean toilets as well.

Lovely park, plenty of seats, no tables. Pretty flowers and a nice fountain which the seagulls were making good use of.
Clark G — Google review
For a simple square, there is much history here. The park dates to 1957 when The Square was named in honor of half of the land partnership of Henry Seymour and Alfred Fell that held title to the land upon which The Beaver (the original settled name of Blenheim) was built. The land was used by local farmers for stock grazing. Between 1865 and 1875, the Garibaldi Cricket Club formed a rough cricket patch here and eventually, football made its debut when Blenheim beat Waithol, 2 goals to 1. In 1920, the oak tree was planted in the northwestern corner by the Price of Wales (later Edward VIII) and in 1928, the WWI Memorial Clock was unveiled. In 1945, cherry trees were planted along the eastern perimeter to commemorate the end of the war with Japan. Today, the site is used for the Marlborough District's commemorative services. It is also the central place of celebration in the life of the town, such as the focus for festivals, markets and parades. It's a lovely walk on a sunny day and today was definitely a sunny day. Picnic or just wander. It's fab.

Lovely place to have lunch or to relax. Walking distance from town. Beautiful flowers and gardens. The toilet facilities are very clean. There is also a fountain feature but on my visit it was not working. The footpaths is wheelchair friendly. I saw many people sitting in the grass and having chats with their mates. Lots to do trees for shade and benches too.

This park is absolutely wonderfull, lots of lovely flowers gardens with the most lovely looking flowers this time of year. The clock tower has been well looked after as has the water fountain. This would be a great place for a picnic with all the shade provided by the trees

Excellent small park right in the heart of the city. The Seymour Square is such a wonderful space in the heart of Blenheim city with delightful flowers, a central fountain and well manicured lawns. I was fortunate enough to meet the gardener who looks after this lovely space. He said he has been doing this for 28+ years; the pride in his work was evident.

The lodging resembles a small boutique hotel, featuring friendly staff and thoughtful amenities such as milk and cookies in the rooms. Guests have praised the heartwarming hosts, Terry & Yvonne, for their impeccable service and attention to detail.
I have been coming to Two Tree Lodge since day one. It has always my home away from home when I have business in Blenheim. Terry and Yvonne are a delight and very accommodating. They strive to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. The rooms are gorgeous and tastefully decorated. The beds are comfortable and the heat pumps silent to ensure a good night's sleep despite the weather outside. See you next time!

We only had one night at Two Tree Lodge but would have been happy to have stayed longer! Lisa was very friendly and welcoming and helpful with local information. The room was very smart, clean, tidy and comfortable. It is very well supplied with all you could need for a stopover. We thoroughly enjoyed stretching our legs with a walk around the corner to beautiful Pollard Park. And the river walkway is just across the road. We would definitely return to Two Tree Lodge.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay! We were greeted by the lovely Yvonne and her kitty cat Chrissie upon arrival (we’re massive cat people and gave her a pat at reception; she doesn’t go into the rooms!) Yvonne was so generous with her time; made lots of local recommendations and was genuinely interested in our backgrounds and travel plans. The room was a great size, comfortable and tidy. Lovely outdoor courtyard attached to. Felt very private given the proximity to town.

This is the third time we have stayed at Two Tree Lodge. It is quiet, spacious, clean, has a straightening iron and has the most fantastic service! The owners go above and beyond. One of our guests had diabetes and experienced a low. And although at the time had completely recovered, I mentioned this in passing as I was late to pay for our room. The owner quickly ducked away and offered to replenish her sugar stocks with some bits she had on hand. It was incredibly thoughtful and kind. I'm so pleased she did this because these stocks were needed again in the middle of the night. Thank you Two Tree Lodge!

Two Tree Lodge offer fantastic accommodation in Blenheim. I stay in many different properties around New Zealand, and this by far, has to be the best motel I've stayed at in a long time. We had the most amazing time on this tour! My husband and I were joined by one other couple and Gavin, our guide, was really incredible! He adjusted the wineries we visited based on our wine preferences. We visited five wineries and tasted 27 different wines. Lunch at Saint Clair was amazing. Gavin was so knowledgeable, great conversationalist, patient and entertaining. You could tell he loved what he was doing! Everything was perfect and we highly recommend this tour...ask for Gavin!

We had an absolutely fantastic day with Gavin from Marlborough Wine Tours! From the moment he picked us up, his warm personality, local knowledge, and passion for the region’s wines made the tour unforgettable. Gavin tailored the day perfectly to our tastes, taking us to a wonderful mix of boutique and well-known wineries, each with its own charm. His insights into Marlborough’s wine history and winemaking process added so much depth to the experience, and his easygoing nature made the whole day relaxed and enjoyable. Everything ran seamlessly, and it felt more like travelling with a friend than being on a tour. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the very best of Marlborough!

An amazing afternoon wine tasting with a super group of internationals - we kiwis the minority - from the pick up by Gavin at the hotel to drop off - a thoroughly entertaining trip with fantastic tastings. Thrilled we went to some of the smaller vineyards and we tasted some amazing wines - very mixed tastes amongst the group mean for interesting comments. By the time we arrive at No 1 for bubbles, we were very talkative and bubbles only advanced this!! The last winery we were on "fast speak"...... for me............Loved Frohm Chardonnay / No 1 bubbles / Hunters Mirumiru Have to say the food boxes at Jackson Winery are outstanding and great for sharing. Gavin made the trip with a warm greeting, and his excellent wine knowledge imparted with wee titbits of local news - thank you
Jeanette B — Google review
We had such a lovely wine tasting tour experience thanks to the good sunny weather, Gavin, sommeliers of all the cellars we visited, and our small but intimate group. My partner and I originally booked the half-day tour but the operator generously upgraded us to the whole-day tour free of charge since we were only ones coming from Picton in the half-day tour. As a red wine drinker, the tour was a very good introduction to white wines. Will definitely add Marlborough Sauv, Riesling, and Rosé tour alcoholic drinks cart next time! Will definitely book this tour again when our friends from home visit us in Welly 😊
Samantha C — Google review
My husband and I lucked out and got Gavin to ourselves for our half day tour and had the best time. He was witty and incredibly knowledgeable. Tried a wonderful variety of wines from the area. If you’re looking for a wine tour with that special feel - this is the one!
Heather G — Google review
We rate 5 stars because we can’t give them a higher score, everything was perfect! Gavin was our guide, he came to pick us up at our accommodation, he was so friendly yet professional and knowledgeable! He was absolutely punctual, the van he came in was pristine, we had a lovely chat during the ride, from small talk to actual wine conversation, during which he asked for personal preferences in order to be able to pick the best wineries for us. We went to four vineyards, he couldn’t pick better! All the people we met there were lovely and informative, we purchased a few bottles for ourselves and we had the best time, really. The weather was amazing so we managed to sit outside to do the tasting, which added even more value. Absolutely recommended, definitely 10/10! The whole organization was perfect, we couldn’t ask for more. Shoutout to Gavin, an absolute legend!

We opted for the full days tour. Being picked up at Blenheim at 10.00am. From the start at 10.00 to the finish of the trip we had a superb day at 16.30 Gavin was our very friendly and informative guide, who with his commentary and informal conversation made it a very relaxed experience. Our nine person group were from various parts of the world and we all got on well straight from the start. So much so at the end of the trip contacts details were exchanged among us. We visited five wineries, with a very good lunch (not included in the price) at the third. All wineries were excellent with great tasting wines and history and information about the wine making process specific to each winery. Thanks to Gavin ‘this was an excellent wine tasting tour.

Chocolate shop
Makana Confections is a popular destination for chocolate lovers, with boutique chocolate factories in Blenheim and Kerikeri. Visitors can observe the hand-making process through large windows, enjoy free tastings, and shop for gift-quality chocolates. The very berry toffee crunch and vanilla candles are particularly beloved by customers. The friendly staff and the opportunity to watch chocolatiers at work make it a delightful experience.
Wow! What an amazing experience! I was offered samples by Sophie as soon as I walked in the door. Dark chocolate is my favorite. I was guided to their selections. Small disappointment with the absence of my all time favorite - dark chocolate with sea salt. Ting, my chocolate store guide, was attentive in offering alternatives. Ting also advised I could have my two purchases (espresso and mint) already gift wrapped , which I took advantage of. Sophie was kind enough to provide samples of my purchases. The chocolate Is more expensive than most. My sampling suggests the extra cost is worth it. PS. I returned to the store today - Sophie had challenged me to visit before the store closed after my Queen Charlotte Sound track adventure.

We had an amazing visit to Makana Confections in Blenheim! 🍫✨ The place is beautiful, clean, and smells heavenly the moment you walk in. Watching the chocolatiers at work through the glass kitchen was such a fun experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, offering delicious free samples that instantly make you want to take everything home! Every chocolate and truffle tasted so rich, smooth, and perfectly made with real care and quality. It’s a perfect stop in Marlborough for anyone who loves chocolate or wants to take home some special gifts. Definitely worth the visit — a sweet experience from start to finish! 🍬❤️

A lovely visit to Makana Confectionary today. Staff very welcoming and it is very clean with the fragrance of chocolate. The chocolate samples were appreciated. We could see the product being made thru a glass window. On the way out we purchased too much chocolate BUT we dont care!! We will enjoy it when we get home. Thank you.

#NZ 04 2024 FamilyTrip# Good experience to have a looks on how Makana Chocolate is done. I like Macadamia Nuts the most. Although the price not cheap, but worth with the price. Just.. The chocolate cant keep too long, as the expired date only short period. (Think positive, this is good).

Stealing from customers! I bought 4 boxes of chocolates and upon examining my receipt layer( the charge seemed unusually high, $256 for 4 boxes) the double charge every single box, which resulted in extra charge of $120! Keep close eye on your receipt and verify immediately if you de idę to buy anything. The chocolates themselves and meh, and overpriced for the quality.
Joanna W — Google review
Lovely place to visit. Welcomed with a sample to try. You can see staff making the chocolates too. The produce is not cheap to buy, but it is quality, local and I like to support places like this. My favourite items to purchase are the shortbread, the Italian discontinued and also the toffee brittle coated in thick chocolate and macadamia a real treat!

Good coffee, quick service though we were in after lunchtime so it was quiet. We had a delicious broccoli and bacon salad and a rather overcooked omelette.
Steve W — Google review
My hubby and I have come here regularly, but today we were both really disappointed. Hubby ordered tea and toast with selection of jams. Hey got 2 slices of vocals sandwich bread ( so was hard) one dish of jam and one of butter. I ordered my usual " eggs Benny with salmon. The holindase was watery, and taste like mustard sauce you have on corn beef. Eggs were cooked perfect. But the thin slice of salmon on the bread was tasteless. Sad because we enjoyed coming here and were really disappointed. Husband just got back from the mens toilets (they are gross) We are not fussy people and easily satisfied but today we were not .

Stopped through for breakfast and it was great! We sat on the upper floor and had our choice of seating. You order at the counter and staff brings out your door / drinks - service was fairly quick and we loved our choices. Flat whites were strong and the bacon avocado stack was well done - great presentation. I held the hollandaise and added a side of smoked salmon. Decent portions too. Hubs ordered the salmon omelette and was pretty satisfied with that. They have a good amount of outdoor seating too!

We had a quick bite to eat and an iced coffee at Watery Mouth Cafe today. Haven't been to this cafe in a little while, and we heard that they had changed hands recently. I must say that the service was amazing, super friendly and the lovely ladies asked us a couple of times if everything was ok which was really nice, very attentive. The venue is lovely, plenty of seating downstairs, a few spots outside and all upstairs is a larger seating area with bi-fold windows that open up, which was lovely on a hot summers day. They have an area for kids to play in, which is a nice touch. The iced coffees were nice and creamy and delicious. The sausage roll was ok. I loved the curry flavor to it, but the pastry was slightly undercooked on the bottom but still ok. One other thing I could suggest is that instead of serving the chutney in a plastic container, just add to the plate or put it in a little white plate to make the dish look more presentable. We enjoyed sitting upstairs looking out, and we wish the new owners all the best.

Speight's Ale House in Blenheim is a large ale house with a cozy wood-styled decor and good vibes. It's advisable to make reservations as it tends to be really busy. The menu features options like lamb shank, available in medium or large portions, and delicious sides such as mash and Kumara potatoes. While the lamb was tasty, some found it had more fatty bits than expected.
What a fantastic meal, great customer service. Ordered the garlic prawns as an entree’ - delicious!! Then had the rib eye steak, they swapped the fries for mash, had the mushroom sauce and steamed veges. The steak was cooked to perfection, I ordered rare and it came as promised, rare, tender and juicy. Great to pay for and get a meal that comes with the protein, carbs and veges without having to pay for extras. If I could have licked the plate I would have. The wait staff were friendly and helpful - a great way to end our stay in Blenheim.

What a treat to visit this place. No idea what to expect as it is a pub and we had a very mediocre meal at a local Blenheim well know Vineyard the dat before.. We were greeted promptly as soon as we arrived. My husband ordered Fish and Chips and I had the warm vegetable salad with chicken… one of the best I have eaten with a generous amount warm vegetables. We both enjoyed the wine. 🍷 🍷 Keep up the good work to the Chef and wait staff.

Very disappointed after reading some of the previous reviews on here. What saved this review from being lower was the lamb shank. It was tender and tasty but it was not generous like the portions photographed by previous contributors. My husband’s chicken burger was very average and the fries were greasy, small pieces of potato segments found at the bottom of the chip packet. My husband was honest about the greasy bits of fries, when the waitress came to the table and asked us how were our meals? She simply replied “oh sometimes they come like this”. (No apology just ignore the customer complaint.) Upon paying, my husband mentioned the greasy dregs of fries and the greasy meal again. That particular waitress did apologize, but then added “oh don’t you hate it when that happens?” Again, customer complaint was ghosted!!!! We paid for our drinks and meals and left. It wouldn’t have killed this business to fry up another small basket of fries, as a customer service gesture, rather than ignore the feedback. Also regular customer service training for new staff would be of benefit.

Fish & chips restaurant
Redwood Takeaways is a popular spot known for its quality fish and chips. The cheeseburger is described as good, not gourmet, but of high quality. Customers praise the fresh bun and well-cooked gurnard with just the right amount of oil. The portion size for chips may be small, but they are always crisp. Visitors appreciate the friendly service and welcoming atmosphere, making it a favorite among locals who often return for their delicious battered fish and chips.
5-STAR REVIEW! "We were blown away by the best fish and chips we've had in ages! The fish was cooked to perfection with a crispy, thin batter. The wedges were spot on too! My daughter loved the $10 burger deal, which came with chips and a drink - amazing value! The staff were super friendly, and the facilities were clean and child-friendly. We can't wait to come back! 10/10 would recommend!"

Winery
Wither Hills is an iconic winery located just five minutes from central Blenheim in the Wairau Valley of Marlborough. The winery has a strong focus on single vineyard whites and has gained recognition for its pinot noir. The cellar door offers a magnificent setting for wine enthusiasts to explore and enjoy tastings. Additionally, Wither Hills also features a restaurant that received high praise for its exceptional service, food, and wine during a recent conference dinner hosted there.
The food was excellent, the waiters/waitresses knowledgeable about all the wines when we had questions, and they were very accommodating of our service animal and didn’t make us feel like a burden. We appreciated the service and staff from the moment we entered to the moment we left. Thank you for your hospitality! The Rarangi Sauvignon blanc and their Chardonnay (normally not a huge Chardonnay fan) were both our favorites.

Booked for my birthday celebration meal. Was stunned by the beauty of the surroundings and amazing food. Staff were attentive and helpful. The wine was fantastic and a favourite of mine hence booking at this particular winery. A lovely evening which was worth the 6 hour journey from South Canterbury.

Had a beautiful lunch at Wither Hills, the lamb and fish was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We both had the sticky fig pudding and enjoyed it thoroughly, could have licked the plate! Service was great, very accommodating even though we hadn’t booked. Ben our server was fantastic and very knowledgeable, helping us with our wine and food choices. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great time!

We made a lunch reservation on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised with the availability of tables facing the vineyard view. The food was delightful and the view’s breathtaking. Quite happy with the attentive staff who made sure we were happy with the experience.

Anaise delivered an exceptional customer service experience from start to finish. Her in-depth knowledge of each wine was impressive—she explained every detail with clarity and passion, even sharing fascinating insights about the history and regions behind each one. Anaise also went above and beyond by giving us a personal tour of the venue, highlighting how beautifully the space can be used for meetings and special events. We can’t wait to return and hope to be hosted by Anaise again. She is truly a gem and an invaluable asset to the winery!

Such a beautiful location for a wedding. We had our very small wedding ceremony here. Only 13 of us but the smaller private dining room was perfect. Plenty of choice for where to have wedding photos taken...it's all beautiful. Food was delicious, we just ordered a variety of the small plates. Wine is beautiful and staff were awesome, they pretty much left us to our own devices which was exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely lunch. Between my husband and I, we went through the menu, starting with grilled mussels, venison tartare, followed by the flounder and bun-less chicken burger and finishing with apple and almond strudel and chocolate fondant , (which incidentally was to die for, and the best I have tasted), washed down with a bottle of Benmorvan Chardonnay. All courses were exceptional and delivered in a timely manner by friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Pollard Park, situated in Blenheim, New Zealand, is a beloved destination known for its picturesque and well-maintained grounds. The park features an extensive array of gardens including rose gardens, a floral garden, a rhododendron dell, and a scented garden. It's also popular for wedding photos due to its charming stream and mature trees. Families can enjoy the playground designed for various age groups while fitness enthusiasts can make use of the outdoor exercise circuit.
Amazing beautiful find as we killed time in Blenheim before driving over to the ferry in Picton. Nice river paths, lots of shade, great playground for the kids to burn off energy. Toilets on site.

Pleasant little park just off a main road. Easily accessed and good parking. Great for a pleasant short walk or you could do loops if running. Nice trees and foliage, with a small stream running through it. Suitable for all ages. Backs on to a tennis club (with courts that can be booked for casual play) and a small golf course.
K O — Google review
One of the most colourful and well maintained parks we have visited anywhere in the world! The roses were in full bloom, the spring flowers were still looking magnificent and everything was so lush and healthy. Lovely easy tracks to walk around and lots of nice places to sit and enjoy the park. If visiting Blenheim, this should be at the top of your list 🌻

We love pollard Park and a destination for the kids when we go to blenheim. The park itself is fun whit activities for children, with the best slide. adjacent to a beautifully well kept garden with pond and flowing stream. With birdlife and immaculate kept gardens perfect for a stroll or to feed the ducks.

The flowers are coming out and very nice to walk around on a lovely day. There is a pretty stream/small river running through the park with quite a lot of ducks and other birds. The park is relatively small and ends before you know it.

ASB Theatre Marlborough is a remarkable venue that truly enhances the experience of live performances. Whether you're attending a local musical like 'Phantom of the Opera' or enjoying tribute acts such as Bruce Springsteen's band, the theatre offers excellent acoustics and an inviting atmosphere. The seating is designed for comfort, ensuring that every guest feels close to the action, regardless of where they sit.
Our show came through recently! The theatre facilities are top notch, and the staff are also! We had an issue that was most helpfully resolved thanks to Catherine’s quick thinking and contacts! We were most grateful for her going above and beyond.

Chris Y — Google review
The theater's good but they need to improve their bar service. Was disappointed they advertise champagne method wine on the menu but don't actually stock it. They also serve wine in plastic cups which is both tacky and not environmentally friendly.
Chandra L — Google review
We enjoyed the show at this theatre. A very professional performance by the local musical theatre of Phantom of the Opera. The amazing singers especially Aria who sang Christine, was aided throughout by great acoustics, a clear view of the stage and comfortably seating. Well done Blenheim! I wish Nelson would try to get a performing arts centre of this standard and size. The we could claim legitimately to be the arts capital of New Zealand. At present a somewhat spurious claim, that ensures that most top performers and shows pass us by!
Keith D — Google review
Unfortunately we were in Row W which is the very back of the theater right up the top. Even though you can see the stage okay, the people performing only seem to talk to the people seated down below and when they are using a screen at the back of the stage the top part of the screen is obscured by the front curtain so you miss out on certain details and what is going on. Could have been designed better.
Rhonda G — Google review
Blenheim is really lucky to have such a facility. This new building is top notch, the acoustics inside are pretty good, good staff. Toured through here in 2017 working with a band so got to see quite a lof of the theatre. Love it, and I think the band enjoyed it too. Handy to town & accommodation.

History Museums
The Marlborough Museum, located in Blenheim, New Zealand, is a regional heritage museum that offers a diverse range of exhibits and artifacts. Situated within the Brayshaw Heritage Park, the museum celebrates the history of New Zealand's wine industry and showcases fascinating displays from Wairau Bar, the site of the country's earliest known settlement.
Nice small museum, a decent display of local pieces, quite well done With the added small town built nearby, also showing period items, There is a small gauge railway that operates, however we didn't use this as it didn't fit in with our timetable.
Anthony B — Google review
Has a reasonable display on wine but is half an advert for each of the wineries that donated each display or money. The area outside is a mocked up old town street, but has seen better days, kids found all the old stuff interesting though. There is a mini train and tourism boating lake. There are also lots of clubs based there, like the rock and mineral club amongst others.
Giles S — Google review
I went here today and is amazing place to visit in Blenheim. Wheelchair access as well via Denton Building. To explore the museum better to follow the numbers 1-24. $5 adult ticket. I recommend to stop and have a chat with people are working in the workshop, they have a wealth of knowledge to share.

Very interesting collection. Reasonable $10 entry. Am surprised that with such a rich history, that they don't have more, especially considering that Marlborough was the initial settlement for Maori in NZ. Too bad that a lot of the really good fossils and relics from Marlborough reside in the Christchurch museum.

Due to my bathroom getting renovated at my home ,me and my family had to come stay at Blenheim bridges for a week , my room was very nice and clean , (as a professional cleaner of 8 years I give it 5 stars for its cleanliness ), ( in my room anyway ) 🥰 service was really good , very friendly staff , had a really cool play ground that my kids absolutely loved , Highly recommended , thank you for accomodating myself and my family appreciate your hard work and great service you provided us .!
Fatima F — Google review
We stayed in campervan for two nights Feb 2025. Pros: Spacious camping ground with a scenic river at the side of the grounds. Check in was friendly and efficient. Traffic noise from bridges was not an issue. We paid $54 per night. Cons: Kitchen/toilet block closest to us was small for the number of people staying, Also very dated and in need of upgrade. Cleaning of the block needs improving, the bathroom facility was always wet on floors and sinks and lighting was poor. One of the two washing machines had a thick ring of scum at the top of the bowl. There was civil works occuring to the main thoroughfare during our stay. The.place.meeds a decent upgrade.
Richard S — Google review
We have stayed for 2,5 months on this campsite because of work in the area. It was really not as bad as all these comments say. Yes the bathrooms are a little outdated but the showers are really good and hot and also very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is fully equipped and got everything you need. The noise of the bridge going over the campsite is not that bad and actually quite okay. Overall a good experience and can recommend staying here.
Eline W — Google review
Our budget cabin had a kettle but no cups which was annoying. Over $130 for one night. Comfortable bed with lots of blankets. Showers were clean and worked well, no coins needed. We will use this venue again but definitely not the budget cabin! Too expensive for what is provided.
K B — Google review
I had a short one night stay, but the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly (even with my physical check in being delayed till after normal hours). Price was a bit hugh, but i was one person saying in a room with 2 free beds, so more people would have lowered that cost. The amenities looked good too, i didnt use the kitchen or tv/games room, but they were large and clean when i walked passed 😅 The bathrooms/showers were also large clean rooms (that i did use) ☺️
Baka — Google review
Great camping ground. Very helpful man at reception. Checked if we were NZMCA members and received discount. Wanted a dry site as has been very wet everywhere. Not a problem. On a sealed site. Plenty of room for 7.5m caravan and vehicle. Facilities were clean and tidy. If back in Blenheim would stay again.
Karen C — Google review
These people have a cheek asking $47 for a powered site. The kitchen was closed for repairs, there wasn't a female toilet as it was closed so we needed to use the mens toilet, we had a front row seat to people being removed by the police and our muddy site was under a crazy loud bridge.
Darlene O — Google review
Pretty disappointed in general we arrived in our campervan, was met with a friendly host but got put way down at the back of the grounds but the river, the amenities are very outdated and dirty kitchen was ok, women's showers are terrible paint flaking and grubby. Permanent people got really loud so that was a shame. Items of clothing also went missing from the drier. Sad as it was our first time in Blenheim, if it wasn't so late we probably would of left.

The staff are so friendly and hospitable. They close at 4pm and I arrived at 3.30pm they still served me. I've never been to a wine tasting before so they were so helpful. The service, the presentation of the food and wine, the information about the wine and the cleanliness of the complex immaculate. Can't fault it... highly recommend

The vineyard restaurant serves great food in a lovely setting, but service was lacking. Oysters we ordered never arrived, and staff only acknowledged it when we mentioned it at payment, which left a disappointing impression despite the good meal.

One of the best spots for lunch in Blenheim. We’ve been several times over r past 3 year and every time the food is excellent and the staff are great. Very relaxed, but I recommend booking ahead as they do fill up. The Chardonnay and Pinot rose are delicious wines and you the celebration of Marlborough platter is a must!

What a beautiful place to have lunch! The food was delicious and very pretty plated. They had great knowledge of what wine to pair with what food and the wine was amazing too. Definitely sit in the garden if weather allows it, because it is so peaceful and beautiful here. Be aware, the kitchen closes at 14:45 for hot meals, so after you can only get cold meals (which are absolutely delicious too)

I believe that Saint Clair Garden Kitchen is the best place to eat in Marlborough. They have just changed onto their summer menu and it didn't disappoint. Excellent chicken and lamb dishes with exquisite salads topped off with twice cooked potato wedges, Yum! Then honey and raspberry layer cake and baked mango cheesecake to finish. DELISH!

Had such a brilliant meal at Saint Clair. The lamb was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Excellent quality food, huge servings, lots of fries, good wholesome pub food. Friendly servers who worked really well under pressure on a busy Saturday night with a big rugby game on the screens. Excellent coffee, great food with some interesting points of difference on the menu. Creamy mushrooms were dairy free which was a refreshing change. Extra points for having power points where you need them if you need to get some work done and water glasses that hold more than 3 mouthfuls at once.

Cute little café right in the town centre. Great place to meet up with friends. I had a matcha latte which was a bit lack lustre and had large clumps of powder at the bottom. Tasted like grassy milk.

After an amazing night out with friends, the perfect start to a day is with a delicious breakfast. Well, today was a good day! As always, starting the morning with a coffee is a must, so I ordered a flat white and an americano with cream. This came quickly and go us off to a good start! I then ordered eggs benedict with bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the ciabata bread was fresh, soft and perfectly toasted. The stand out of the breakfast was the bacon - smokey and crisp, I could have eaten a whole plate of the bacon alone! All 5 of us who were eating were very happy with the breakfast, and it got us off to a great start to an amazing day. Another note is that we had a toddler with us, and the cafe catered to his presence with toys and a high chair...and lets not forget the 'fluffy' which eventuated with chocolate all over his face! Super cute. Definately good value and a lovely atmosphere.

Only had the super french toast but it was great. I normally don't like the texture of chewing nuts. But they were sliced thin and crunchy like chips. A little expensive but not any more than most cafe food. High ceilings made it roomy and it was bright and warm on a cold day in August.

Posting on behalf of Golden Bay Rodders Motueka. Our group of 60 ate 2 nights here and were very impressed with the service and quality of food on both nights. More people turned up than we realised as we had only booked for 50 but it was not an issue for the staff. We ordered off the menu. Food was fast coming out and delicious. Would highly recommend this place for functions. Thank you for your hospitality.

Ordered a medium rare steak that came in well done, potatoes were undercooked and had a strange taste, fish in the fish and chips for the baby at my table WAS STILL FROZEN and the batter was dough-ey, the room was warm and dark, however aircon was turned on when requested service was friendly and apologetic about the fish but the food itself was quite pricey (averaging $30-$50) for it being extremely sub-par.

Dined at Armadillo's restaurant at the tavern, food was good, but not spectacular. We had asked to put the sauce on the side instead of overtop of the dish, when it came covered in sauce they took our drinks off the tab. Can't fault the customer service. Was disappointed in the meal prices tho, as overall was very expensive. $15 for a garlic bread (mini loaf about 6 peices) for example, and was at least $30 each for the meals pictured

Got the $33 prime rib eye steak chips with vegetables. Ended up with a scoop of chips, a little tray of steamed broccoli/coliflower and carrots and a steak that was meant to be cooked medium but came out of the kitchen blue Not sure I'll return

Haven Cafe is a delightful spot for a quick meal with loved ones. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, complete with a small play area for children. The cuisine is of excellent quality, and the coffee is exceptional. It's always refreshing to find establishments that offer complimentary water coolers for customers' convenience. This community cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating options, including an outdoor space specifically designed for kids to enjoy.
Lovely coffee and food, quick service even though cafe was busy. Large selection of delicious looking cabinet food plus a varied menu. Highly recommend the custard square. Mix of booths or tables for seating, with seating indoors or out. In general very tidy, clean and well maintained, but they really should replace the toilet seats...

Beautifully prepared food and outstanding value. Grouper, salad and chips, all served with a generous hand, only $18. All the cabinet food so tempting it’s hard to choose. Nice friendly staff, dog friendly, can eat outside under the veranda.

Watch this place when ordering for allergies. Unfortunately not so great experience at Haven today. Ordered the big Kai with no mushrooms. The meal arrived with mushrooms, and was taken back up. They bought out another meal quickly and we asked “were the mushrooms just taken off, or is this a new meal”. We were told there was another dish the same cooked and this was a new meal with no mushrooms. After looking at the meal you could see the mushrooms had just been taken off and the waitress had lied to us by saying it was a new meal. Fortunately we recognised this before eating the contaminated food, but please be wary and take precaution.

Great food with lost of options, very reasonably priced. Kid friendly, went back multiple times on my trip to Blenheim we were so impressed with quality of food and service. Food arrive quickly each time. If ever in Blenheim will stop back here.

A very nice place for a quick bite with family and friends. It's a very cozy place and there is a small playground for kids. The food is very good and the coffee was excellent. Always really nice to see places that have a water cooler for customers to freely use.

Dangerous for Coeliacs – Zero Stars if I Could I’m absolutely appalled by my recent experience at Haven. I requested a gluten free option due to not just dietary restrictions but the consequences of my allergy. Unfortunately my dietary needs were not taken seriously. Within hours, I became very ill — something that only happens when I’ve been glutened. Either there was cross-contamination in the kitchen, or worse, they served me food that wasn't actually gluten free. In either case, it’s unforgivable. Coeliac disease is not a trend or a preference; it’s an autoimmune disorder that requires strict adherence to a gluten-free diet. One slip-up can lead to days or weeks of recovery. If you have coeliac disease or any serious gluten intolerance, I strongly advise you to avoid this place. They’re playing roulette with people’s health, and I wouldn’t trust them with mine again. Use caution, and consider dining elsewhere where food safety and dietary restrictions are respected and understood.

Cloudy Bay Vineyards offers a picturesque setting with the Richmond Ranges as a backdrop, providing a perfect spot to relax and enjoy their renowned Sauvignon Blanc. Visitors can unwind on the newly renovated deck, picnic on the lawn, or lounge in egg chairs while savoring their wine. The winery also features Jack's Raw Bar, where guests can indulge in Tio Point oysters, sashimi, clams, and venison carpaccio paired with their exquisite wines.
We had planned to visit several vineyards on this day but the service we got was amazing and we ended enjoying a couple of tasting sessions, a delicious lunch and a fun time taking some candid photos. Highly recommended 👌!

Absolutely beautiful winery . W took some work mates there to introduce them to wine tastings that staff we friendly and knowledgeable. Quite a lot of fuss with long waiting times. Reservations are essential. The wine and Perlorus sparkling wine (which, logically, cannot be called champagne) are very tasty. We particularly loved the classic Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. A fantastic wine. However, there are wineries in the surrounding area that have a cosier atmosphere, offer equally good wine and are not so pretentious.

Outstanding wine, we did 2 of the tastings and both were excellent, the 2025 Sav is the best I've ever had. I was also given a free glass of bubbles for my birthday, will be back again! Beautiful cellar door.

We were lucky to be able to do a wine testing on December 26, and we chose well! working in hospitality and winery industry, we loved the exclusive wine testing done by Celia who was really very professional and kind, the wines are superb! we also enjoyed the bar area with oysters and a glass of wine! Thank you all! And 100% recommend this place! :) Merry Christmas

I visited Cloudy Bay for a wine tasting and signed up for a $30 tasting of five different wines. The staff brought me a single wine glass, and instead of changing glasses between tastings, they poured all five wines—rosé, white, and red—into the same glass one after another. Naturally, the flavors got mixed. I had high expectations, so I was quite disappointed.

We are tourist from The Netherlands and we found this Vineyard by surprise. We attended at the sunset movie screening and it was amazing. The wine was so good, there was live music, the food was excellent, staff was super friendly. We will be returning here for a wine tasting on the way back during our holiday. On extra: did the winetasting as well. Got the 5 course one wich was 30ndz. The guy giving the winetasting was super friendly and took his time to awnser our questions even though it was very busy. He also knew a lot about the wines. The only downside was that there was a comment section during the reservation that you could fill in if you were celebrating something, wich we were so we filled it in. They didn’t do anything with it. If you’re not going to do something with it, dont have a section like that.

Hunter's Wines, a family-owned winery located in Blenheim, offers a delightful experience for wine enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the sculpture gardens and sample their award-winning wines, with the MiruMiru sparkling being a standout recommendation by owner Jane Hunter. The vineyard provides an inviting setting with ample parking and indoor/outdoor seating for tastings and platters. The quality of both the wine and food is highly praised, making it a must-visit destination.
We had a lovely visit to Hunters last weekend. Beautiful location sitting in the courtyard garden and bonus for being dog friendly- thank you!🐶 We enjoyed a relaxed wine tasting which was beautifully paced and very informative. Some great food options and we went for the open sandwich, the squid and the flatbread platter. Also took a case of wine home with us because, to be honest, it’d be rude not to!

After discovering our special place was closed for a function, we continued on hunting for a nice winery to have lunch at. Arriving at Hunters Wines we were greeted with a welcoming smile, and invited to take a sit. The atmosphere is relaxed, the surroundings boasting a bountiful variety of blooms. The food was delicious. Thank you for the lovely experience.

Hard to find a vineyard in the area offering cellar door offerings. Great place offering food and wine plus offer a wine sampling for $20 per person. Add a cheese board to enjoy with the sampling to make a fab time. Seating inside and outside in the garden. No bookings required but you can reserve tables. A must if in the area.

Had a wine tasting at the cellar door today and highly recommend. The wine is spectacular, sits above the rest. We were served by McKenzie who did a fabulous job, she really made it special! Delicious cheese platter too.

This was a great family winery we discovered. The owner took over after her husband died and has received several awards domestically and internationally for the wines. MacKenzie provided a fun and thorough tasting for us of 5 wines and I left with the Pinot Gris & MuriMuri (bubbles). They also make their own olive tapenade & hummus. Nice cafe as well! We could see the team working several harvesting machines and the press just over the fence.

What a lovely place! The staff is so nice and heartwarming, especially Helen. You feel welcomed the moment you enter the beautiful property. The garden is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a great wine. The tasting was amazing, and the wines were just too good, hard decision which one to take home. I would highly recommend this phenomenal winery.

Feel terrible saying this but wow really dropped the ball in here.. went into the cafe for brunch with my daughter and granddaughters. Kitchen was closed so only cabinet food.(Which was fine) . Cabinet looked quite depressing so was hard to choose decided on chicken wrap, brown lettuce in it and was extremely soggy not pleasant to eat.. daughter said her chicken sandwich was soggy to. Coffee wasn't hot and tasted very bitter. Went up to get a jug of hot water and stood around waiting for some service for a while. Definitely need some training on customer service on the young ones. Definitely wasn't worth the $45. We left quite disappointed.

Great location and outdoor and indoor dining available. On a sunny day have your sustenance outside by the wee pond. Great vibe and good service. Waffle fries are hard to come but but on this day they were very salty. The fish slider I probably wouldn't have again (panko crumbed fish with a more refined salad may coax me though!) but my eggs benedict was tasty. You definitely need some food when you're wine tasting and this is a good option. There's also gin tasting in the village too which I managed to squeeze in after lunch.

We went for brunch and I was impressed they had a few more interesting choices on the menu instead of just the same things that you get everywhere. I also liked that the green tea I ordered came in a pot with enough tea for more than one cup. They were able to deal well with several separate payments for our large group. And the Village Green smoothies are amazing!

My wife and I went here because she had been a few times before and really enjoyed it. She ordered Fish and Chips, I ordered Ceaser Salad. It was busy on the day, so it took nearly 45min for our lunch to come out - which was understandable. There was leftover plates on other tables so it was a bit of a mess. But watching the birds eating the leftovers was entertaining anyway. When lunch finally arrived I would have eaten anything that was put in front of me. Sadly my salad was possibly the worst Ceaser Salad I have ever eaten. The poached Egg was just the yoke, most of the rest of the egg was gone. The iceberg lettuce was poorly ripped - no love shown to it at all. Some chunks were still in the original layers. The bacon and chicken had no love shown either. So basically it was a poor result all around. I ate it anyway and didn’t complain because I was enjoying lunch with my wife. But then she said she couldn’t eat the fish. It was crumbed like fish fingers. It was over cooked and dried out. Basically it was rubbery. She sent hers back and they gave a refund. So that was my sad experience - we had high hopes that never came true. The staff were very friendly and the environment was lovely.

Wine Tours by Bike, with Steve and Jo, offers self-guided bike hire for exploring the boutique cellar doors of Renwick at your own pace. They provide free pickup and drop-off service and offer a choice of tandems and single bikes. While they are available to provide local knowledge and suggestions, visitors have the freedom to decide their route, winery visits, and lunch stops.
We had such a lovely day exploring the local vineyards. It was great to be picked-up and dropped-off and the briefing was super helpful. There were a range of bikes to suit different people (I'm super short) and comfortable helmets. The paths were all clear to follow and felt safe, even if on a road. I'm not the most confident cyclists and I found it easy enough.

My mate & I had a lovely time in Renwick, exploring the many wineries. No doubt, choosing the self guided bike tour with Lorelle & Greg, really was an amazing experience, & definitely a great way to explore the area. Their bikes were super comfy & safe. Lorelle, very friendly & always accommodating. We appreciated the pick up & drop off service, as well as the expert advice given, about the best route to take, etc. We were able to fully embrace & enjoy the many trails in bliss, whilst taking in all the nature & picturesque surroundings, as well as getting a good bit of exercise in. A lovely sunny day & a terrific time all round. I would definitely recommend it to all.

We absolutely loved this tour. Lorelle collected us promptly from our accommodation, after which we were given our bikes, helmets and maps. Lots of information given as to our choices of vineyards to visit. Easy routes to navigate. A throughly fun day out. We would highly recommend!

We had a brilliant day out in Marlborough with the bikes. Booking was super easy and the owners were helpful in advance with suggestions for accomodation. Pam, who picked us up, was delightful. Bikes in good condition, super helpful map. We also arrived back a bit late due a lengthy (but excellent) wine tasting at Bladen, but they were super understanding. Highly recommend!

Loved the experience! Our very friendly shuttle driver Pam picked us up (despite an address mixup, thanks for your flexibility again) and took us to the very competent team who briefed us on safety and some local highlights. I'm glad to have heard that Bladen give rather thorough sessions, and that they only run tastings every other hour. Also completely agree that 5 is an absolute max. We've done four tastings and couldn't do any more!

Nice videos for wineries introduction in surroundings. We were a bit late to return to the place and phoned Steve, and he put our safety at first consideration. Jo drove us back and answered all our questions on the way. I highly recommend to book the tour, not only to enjoy world-class wine but also to stroll around this beautiful town.

Arbour Restaurant in Marlborough offers a sophisticated dining experience with a touch of Japanese influence. The restaurant is known for its faultless, innovative food and wine pairings, delivered by a friendly and first-class team. Meanwhile, Harvest at The Marlborough provides a stunning setting with its charcoal oven and inventive fare. Can’t complain. Great attention to detail as you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. Waiting staffs are friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine they serve. Dishes are explained clearly. Service is tailored to the need of guests. One of the best dining experience I have ever had.

Upscale yet down to earth dining experience. Extensive wine selection, and good wine pairings that was a good introduction for further tastings and winery visits. The food was very good, with a special note for the lamb. Portions could be a bit bigger, but overall highly recommended. Enjoy all!

We enjoyed a lovely meal here to celebrate my birthday which they acknowledged with a little cake at the end. All the courses were beautifully presented. Great adaptations to make them gluten free, including fresh bread. A heads up that the wine pairing is very generous so I left feeling a tad tipsy. A huge thanks to the team who were so kind to help us with a payment mistake we made - you went above and beyond.

Absolutely a little gem in Blenheim. It was a rainy night, the restaurant was cosy and warm. The dining room felt spacious and private. Each dish and wine were introduced by the very knowledgeable Liz, we thoroughly enjoyed the wine match and the stories about the local vintners.

Arbour is a must visit restaurant in Blenheim. We visited a couple weeks ago, during a rainy few days in Marlborough. The space is cozy with each table having plenty of space to feel intimate - the decor is soft and acts to quiet any extra noise for a calm experience. Service was fantastic with every staff member being friendly and knowledgable. Liz guided us through two exceptional wine pairings for our meal - my husband opted for the rare & cellared and I for the current vintage which allowed us to try as much wine as possible. ;) And to top everything off, the food was amazing! From our first bites of focaccia with black garlic to to very last of caramelized yoghurt creme. However by far my two favorites were the Barley, Porcini, and Hazelnut Veloute and the Middlehurst lamb. Everything had good flavor balance with appropriate seasoning, acid, and varying textures throughout the dishes. An overall favorite dining experience.
Ingrid J — Google review
Dined here in a small group and had the degustation menu with wine matching. Booked well in advance and communication with the restaurant via email was excellent. They double checked we were still coming the day before. Welcome into the restaurant and initial impressions were good. We chose an aged or rare wine selection with the meal and each wine was introduced with excellent detail and background on who it was produced by and how long it had been cellared for. I don't normally enjoy white wines but the ones served here were special. The food was delicious and very good size portions. I was not hungry after all the dishes had been served. If you want top quality and service at a restaurant in the Blenheim area book at Arbour.

This restaurant is restrained elegance. The decor, the menu, the wine. All excellent! The standout was the middlehurst lamb rump, cooked sous vide style and amazingly tender while still being medium and pink inside... I have never eaten lamb that melts in your mouth like that before. It is still haunting my dreams. Sommelier was very knowledgeable and friendly, and very attentive too.

Fromm Vineyard was actually that Vineyard we were searching for in the Marlborough region. We were looking for something that wasn’t all about the Sav Blanc… This is it because they don’t do one! Great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. A small cellar door with lots of history and top wines, put it on your list to visit.

Enjoyed our first visit to Fromm winery. Arrived late sunday afternoon for a tasting and was so well looked after by the friendly and knowledgable stephen. We did 1 mixed tasting and 1 signature tasting. Their wines are impressive I loved their rosé and pinot noir especially and also the 2022 Malbec is excellent. Just a few too many fruit flies in the tasting room which wasnt ideal. Impressive collection of cork screws on display which added a quirky and fun touch to the cellar door. The wines are affordable to buy as well. Highly recommend a visit to Fromm.

We really loved Allan Scott Bistro. We have dined at all the other vineyard restaurants in Blenheim and for us Allan Scott Bistro is the best. Best menu best food and service. Wine list is more restrictive as they only sell the wines they grow so no Syrah. The service was pleasant and efficient. The mussel dish I had was the best mussels I have ever eaten. Mussels in a creamy soup with finely chopped ham and herbs. The Pork belly main was also exceptional. Highly recommended

What a beautiful bistro! My friend and I did the wine tasting first and then headed to the restaurant. Overall amazing meal at Allan Scott Bistro today! Everything was on point - customer service, vibes, menu options, presentation, taste. Only downside was that I ordered black sesame and Oreo cheesecake, but what came out was white cheesecake with a ginger nut base. Lunch yesterday was at this beautiful restaurant amongst the vines in the wine area of Marlborough. It deservedly gets excellent reviews. The food was superb from the starter of bruchetta that was unique in that it paired blue cheese, pickled pear and walnut with a light syrup - my wife has vowed to replicate this at home! The lamb shoulder was delicious but the stars were the vegetables including the carrots done in yoghurt and zatar plus the double baked potatoes with truffl, aioli and salsa verde and some other baby vegetables. Truly a wonderful touch by the chef to create such a tasty dish as a lot going on but he pulled it together without overpowering the flavour of either the meat or the vegetables. Truly he has a light, educated "touch", sign of a chef who knows exactly what he's doing. The wines were very good and reasonably priced with a wine pairing suggested with each main - black label Pinot Noir went very well indeed with the lamb This was a truly memorable experience over a relaxing 2 hours + in a wonderful setting. Can't recommend it highly enough. (The photo of the main course lamb looks scruffy which was my fault NOT the chefs as I dived in before taking the photo!!)

Amazing setting, sheltered in the wind but we still felt like we were sitting outdoors in the fresh air. Beautiful meals, didn't wait long at all, wine was great. Service was good, unfortunately our attendant wasn't sure of her cuts of meat, missed a dessert despite being checking by us (we were talking a lot) but it was quickly rectified and desserts were lovely.

Framingham Wines is a charming winery where visitors can relax outdoors with a glass of wine or indulge in wine tasting trays and cheeseboards. The courtyard offers a lovely setting to savor the wines, and guests can also enjoy the comfortable beanbags in the sun. The staff is known for their warmth and knowledge, making the experience even more delightful. With delicious wines, beautiful surroundings, and excellent service, Framingham Wines is highly recommended for a memorable visit.
What a little gem of a place. It was Mother’s Day and my husband and I have recently moved to the Marlborough area. As a Mother’s Day treat he wanted to take me out to a few wineries in the area and to be honest Allan Scott was top of my list as i have always wanted to go there. It wasn’t the best experience there and very impersonal as the food platters were not very good and the wine samples are served via a refrigerated sample dispenser. So we tried a few other wineries and Framingham was last on our list. I really truly wish we had gone there first. What an amazing experience. Lilly was the lady who served our samples. A bubbly, knowledgeable and such a friendly lady who made our afternoon so special. We even got to go and pick our own cheeses, relishes and crackers to nibble on in a separate area that we could take back to our table and enjoy. Such a lovely place. I could go on and on, but it’s definitely my number 1 winery in Marlborough and I highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you Lilly, we will be back 🥰

👍 Like my review! Please note that if you are here for a tasting, it will NOT be waived upon a purchase of any wine bottles. This left a bad taste after we purchased a number of bottles from Framingham Wines making us realize if there's even a point to return. However, the wines were overall great, the entrance garden is beautiful, and the area downstairs to see the passion of the owners was astoundingly cool. Those working in the tasting room told us we can play the drums if we wanted to. We would recommend it as an experience for once in your life but don't plan to return anytime soon nor purchase future bottles.

Quirky, Cool, and Full of Heart! Framingham Wines was such a fun and memorable stop. The service was friendly and welcoming, and we absolutely loved exploring the cellar and the band room — their support of the arts adds a unique and inspiring touch to the whole experience. The setting is quirky and cool, with gardens that are full of character and charm. Don’t miss the chance to grab one of their cool pink shirts — it’s a great way to support a good cause while taking home a piece of the vibe. A place with personality, great wine, and a whole lot of soul. Highly recommended!

We visited Framingham Winery for the afternoon with plans to move onto the next place but we had such a lovely time we ended up staying the whole day! Really wonderful service, the staff there are so lovely and take such good care. They have a great knowledge of their produce and production, shared in a very friendly and accessible way. Their Riesling tasting was fantastic as was their self service snack selection. 5 stars all round, highly recommended!

If you only have one day in Marlborough you HAVE to visit Framingham. It makes the best reisling in the region and you must have the reisling tasting. The vineyard is spectacular, the court yard setting offers the best spot in the region to sit relax and enjoy the wine. Will always reccomend to anyone visiting.

Incredible service, atmosphere, and of course, wine. When you live in wine country, the standards are high, and this place delivers. Thank you Tanya for being so knowledgeable and welcoming! I’ll be happy to return soon ☺️

We visited a few different wineries and this was our absolute favourite. It is a smaller winery, more boutique than say Cloudy Bay. The gardens are exceptionally well maintained and there is cellar door seating inside and out if it is a nice day. The staff member who served us was so lovely and very helpful. We tried a selection of whites and found all to be delicious. A personal favourite from Framingham was the Pinot Gris, though the Riesling is more popular I believe. If you are trying a few wineries out in the Marlborough, Framingham is an absolute must do.

Probably my favourite winery in all of Marlborough. The second time I've visited now and these wines are exceptional. The garden setting is unbeatable. Caroline was brilliant and very kind. She really helps make this place tick. If you like Riesling, this is the must-go and all their other wines are also very good. Do not miss this winery!!!!

Absolutely brilliant. Definitely worth a visit. Had the Carne pizza, up there with some of the best pizza I've had - crispy light base topped with meat and cheese what more could you ask for? Good range of beers and wine. ( I had the lager so can't comment on the wines) The atmosphere and music was very chilled and beautiful views. 10/10 would recommend

Bloody good pizza!! Lovely location with mountain views in a warm modern building. We didn't do a tasting but enjoyed the Sav Blanc.

We were in a restaurant on the spot, lunch time on Sunday, good food, pizzas, BBQ, and more, nice atmosphere, a band just appeared on the spot As we entered, we placed an order for the pizza that was recommended at the entrance with smoked BBQ meat, it was good, but it took too long to arrive at our table. I would also expect the waiters to approach us at least once (we were there for about an hour) to check if everything is okay

My partner and myself, went there for dinner for my birthday, our first time going there. Great atmosphere, got seated straight away, music was good, our waitress was lovely very chatty and very pleasant, our meal was great we had 3 courses. Cocktails were so good. Really enjoyed the meal, we ended up getting free dessert 🍨 complimentary because it was my birthday. We will be going back there again. Top notch food. It was quite busy, but we didn't wait too long.

I booked for 10, and another 4-5 wanted to attend last minute. Not and ideal situation for a busy restaurant. Even though the venue was fully booked the staff were kind enough to offer up an alternative space and allow us to eat downstairs. The group was large and the tables were swiftly arranged and reset, although disruptive to their plans they were able to run with things. They were not obliged to at all accommodate the extras, but they made it work. Once we had been relocated the service was quick and friendly, offering some banter and laughs. Drinks and food were brought out quickly and they were in every sense amazing! It was reasonably pricey but for the atmosphere and the quality of food and beverages available it was absolutely worth it. The group spoke well of the Fancy Cow for the following few days wishing that we had gone earlier. Staff offered sound advice and direction for food and drink suggestions. Everyone that attended mentioned that if or when they were back in Blenheim they would be returning to the Fancy Cow in a heart beat. Thanks team for the great food and drinks and a flexible mindset despite the disruption we caused. Absolute legends!

Restaurant
Harvest Restaurant in Blenheim, New Zealand is located at The Marlborough, a luxury lodge set in private parklands. The restaurant offers a simple yet exquisite dining experience with dishes cooked in a charcoal oven. Guests can enjoy clever snacks and delicious martinis made with Roots gin from Elemental Distillers. Harvest champions passionate local growers and sources ingredients from the Marlborough Farmers Market, including Rood Food's chicken liver parfait and Cranky Goat's local cheese.
One of the best meals we had on our three week trip around New Zealand. A beautiful house and garden in a lovely location with friendly, helpful staff. Neil steered us very well on wine pairings. Tom, our waiter, was helpful on food recommendations and descriptions. There are multiple rooms in the restaurant, all of which were tastefully decorated. Is definitely recommend and go back.

We enjoyed a brilliant dinner at Harvest tonight! All wait staff were incredibly attentive and had great recommendations. We got to try some of the new Autumn dishes which we both really enjoyed including duck and snapper. This was a last minute dinner decision for us but the venue manager still made us feel welcome and found us a great table. Thanks

Lamb for two is apparently their best seller, slow roasted in a charcoal oven for 6 to 7 hrs. It was delicious, but nothing prepared us for the amazing roasted cabbage side that the waiter recommended. Harvest emphasies farm to table dining, and all the sides are apparently grown in their garden. Well... The cabbage was truly to die for. Sweet, smoky and tender yet with a delectable crunch, dressed in crispy garlicky crumbs and chive butter. It was mouth-watering. We've had plenty of good lamb, and this was no exception. But the cabbage was a showstopper and like nothing I've ever eaten before! Service was warm and attentive, the restaurant itself was spread out in a few different rooms each one with a slightly different atmosphere. Although overall it is a more formal restaurant with deep dark hues and plush furniture. Definitely a place to bring a date to impress. Make sure you book ahead.

Incredible experience. I highly recommend that you let the sommelier guide you through the wine pairing. The food was delicious and I even had the chance to personally thank the chef as he came in the dining room to speak with the customers. 5 stars !!
Amelie N — Google review
A beautiful setting amongst stunning grounds, the restaurant building is atmospheric and has a lovely vibe especially once the lights come on. I can see that there is very high praise for the restaurant itself, and although we didn’t have a specific gripe about any of the food, I would honestly have to say that I found it to be competently executed although uninspired. You know how you can taste the chef’s passion and ingenuity in every mouthful? Well that’s not something that applied for us at Harvest. We shared the fish crudo and the mussels. The mussels had a broiled coating of something cheesy/mayonnaise which although pleasant enough, it didn’t quite gel, with the coating falling off the mussels as though the dish components were somehow unconnected. I had the monk fish which was nice although slightly stewy in texture, hubby had the lamb loin which he really liked so that’s a big plus. I couldn’t fault the service, it was attentive and you could tell that the gentleman who looked after us took pride in his profession, the way European hospitality staff do. We shared a strawberry eclair to follow, and we had an excellent bottle of Clos Henri with our dinner, Although this review might appear ungenerous, I really don’t want to denigrate the place and perhaps if I’m ever back this way I might be convinced to try it again. For me there was something missing - perhaps chef had a night off or just a bad day.

We stopped in for a dinner after some wine tasting and I will say, this was one of the best dinner experiences I've had in a long time. I would recommend a reservation as this place is small. We lucked out and got in at 5pm with no res by calling. 1. The property is beautiful. Restaurant is modern but a great setting. 2. Neil, the manager/sommelier, welcomed us with a history of the property and a great description of the menu. You can tell he really cares about the restaurant and his craft. He was attentive the whole meal and helped with pairings the whole night. 3. Jack, the bartender, was one of the friendliest people we've met in New Zealand. He was actively looking for ways to make our night better and had some great conversation. 4. The food was spectacular, specifically the lamb. Easily the best lamb I've ever had. 5. All veggies are grown on property. Overall Its expensive for NZ but I would have paid double for that lamb and the service. We will be back the next time we visit.

The quality of food and service at this place is truly exceptional. Chef Wieland and his team create incredible dishes, perfectly paired with great wine. We ate here five nights in a row, and each evening they outdid themselves again. One of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to. We can’t wait to return!
