Holiday park
Discovery Parks - Barossa Valley is a well-equipped accommodation option located just a short distance from Tanunda's main street. The park offers various amenities suitable for families, including an impressive waterpark. Accommodation options range from unpowered camping sites to multi-bedroom cabins with ensuite bathrooms, catering to different budget and comfort preferences. Tanunda itself is a historic village settled in 1843 and offers attractions such as art galleries, retail outlets, cellar doors, and dining establishments within close proximity to the park.
: ⸻ 🌟 A Wonderful Stay in a Cozy Cabin – Discovery Parks, Barossa Valley We had such a lovely getaway at Discovery Parks – Barossa Valley. We stayed in a cabin, and it was super clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The space was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing break. The park is beautifully maintained, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the outdoor areas and the pool — everything felt calm and inviting. 🌳 I took some great photos because the surroundings were just stunning! This place is definitely on our list for future holidays. Thank you for the warm hospitality! 💛 Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, nature, and a peaceful escape.🥹🥰🥰

Great place. We stayed in the safari tents and they were amazing. Love the private parking and pool. Don’t going during a storm, it’s very loud with the wind and rain flapping on the tent. Also loved the water park even as an adult. So much fun.
Jamie B — Google review
We stayed for 5 nights at Discovery Parks Barossa Valley. The park is well maintained with clean and modern facilities. While premium sites are available, we were allocated what seemed to be an older part of the park, still tidy and functional, with awning mats provided, but the site felt a little cramped for our 9m van, which was a tight fit. This may have been due to the promotion we booked under, so something to keep in mind when selecting site options. Overall, the park is lovely, peaceful, and offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. Its location is ideal as a base to explore the beautiful Barossa region and local attractions. Would definitely recommend, just be mindful to confirm site size if travelling with a larger van.

This was our first visit to Barossa Discovery parks but it won't be our last. Dog friendly cabins, lots of green space and less than 1hour from Adelaide. We had a comfortable stay. And my dog enjoyed meeting lots of new people and furry friends. My cabin was clean, comfortable and dog friendly.

Had an absolute amazing time recently stayed in the safari tents for a few nights. The serenity was so lovely, calm and quiet plus having a dedicated pool and hot spa was beautiful. Staff were really helpful when needed and great location. Will definitely be coming back.

My compliments to Lea at the front desk, she was very accomodating and informative and accommodated my special requests. as well as the other 2 ladies at the front desks what a bunch of lovely ladies. The toilets and showers are big and clean. The sites are very easy to access with our motorhome and a few minutes walk through the social hub of Tanunda.

Lovely park, good location, have stayed here before, close to town. Stayed in deluxe 1 bedroom cabin, bedroom wasn't very clean, dust on side cupboards and bedhead, could see its been a little while since dusted. Skirting dusty to. Lounge and bathroom were clean.

We have stayed at this par a few times and have enjoyed our stays. Great facilities for children so good for family stays. It is walking distance to town if you fancy a meal out or just some shopping.

Barossa Valley is a picturesque region known for its vineyards and dining options. The area takes advantage of its seasonal produce to offer exceptional eateries, provedores, and unique food experiences. It is renowned for producing world-class red wines, particularly Shiraz, with some of the oldest vines in the country. Visitors can indulge in wine tastings and locally sourced platters while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Very beautiful part of North Adelaide. Many lovely winerys in the area

Great wine tour, we enjoyed our driver, Roy, with his quick wit & jokes. Most wines were excellent, all of the servers were great. We would go again!

The winery tour with tasting and lunch was an exquisite experience, led by the knowledgeable guide, Baden. His commentary struck the perfect balance between being informative and engaging, sprinkled with delightful anecdotes. Each of the three wineries visited offered a unique perspective on winemaking, providing a diverse and enriching journey through the Barossa wine region. The highlight was undoubtedly the lunch, featuring a generous selection of high-quality platters, allowing us to indulge in a variety of flavors that complemented the wine tastings perfectly. Overall, it was a memorable day trip, characterized by impeccable service, delightful wines, and a relaxed ambiance. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking an authentic and enjoyable wine-tasting experience in the Barossa Valley.

Barossa Valley is a wine lover’s paradise! Rolling vineyards, charming cellar doors, and exquisite local wines make every visit a delightful experience. The scenic landscapes and gourmet food are unforgettable.

The Barossa Valley, just an hour's drive from Adelaide, remains one of Australia's most iconic wine regions. With over 150 wineries and more than 80 cellar doors, it offers a rich tapestry of experiences for wine enthusiasts. Diverse Wine Styles: While the region is renowned for its bold Shiraz, it also produces exceptional Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Mataro. Emerging producers are introducing lighter, biodynamic styles, reflecting a shift towards more nuanced winemaking . Innovative Practices: Wineries like Treasury Wine Estates are embracing cutting-edge technology, such as automated barrel halls, to enhance production efficiency and sustainability . Rich Heritage: The Barossa's history is deeply intertwined with German Lutheran settlement, influencing both its winemaking traditions and culinary offerings

A beautiful visit for a platter and tasting. Scarlett was young and knowledgeable. Friendly staff, delicious wine and locally sourced platter that enabled a taste sensation with the wine. Will definitely make this a seasonal spot and can't wait to get my hands on the E & E! Even on a dull, cold, winters day it's gorgeous.

Iconic Australian wine region making world class reds, especially Shiraz. It features some of the oldest vines in the country and produces some of the most well-known wines, such as the coveted Penfold's Grange Hermitage. There is something here for everyone and you'd be a fool not to go if you like your 🍷 So so much to see and do and not just wineries. We got help from the local tourist information centre, who were absolutely great, and booked a mini tour buss of the different types of wineries ,you can't go to all of them there's several hundred and it was fantastic fun. But! We also went to cheese factories, Gin distillers, Magge Beers, Dried fruits and so many more. The tourist information centre was able to book us into all sorts of special events as well, as an example a tea and cheese matching tasting at the Barrossa Valley Cheese Company & more. There's many types of Stay Facility available as well, from luxury to look after yourself units with full facilities. Great place, nice people, amazing wines, excellent food and I'm picky when it comes to food.

This place is as sick as I was after two rosé bottles in between the vines. Would absolutely get drunk there again. Bars and Pubs are lacking but the valley makes up for it with cool spots like the Barossa Valley Estate which offers very good deal for wine tasting in a charming atmosphere

Barossa Valley Brewing is a must-visit spot in the wine country, offering an array of handcrafted beers and delectable food. The brewpub features a charming outdoor area with picnic tables, making it perfect for enjoying their selection of craft beers and small plates or pizza. The knowledgeable staff are always available to assist patrons in choosing the ideal beer and providing recommendations for food pairings.
Being busy, of course some meals came out first, while ones that took longer to cook...took longer! Staff were under the pump, but couldn't please everyone who expected food straight away...captain obvious it was super busy. Go to a Macca's drive-thru if U want 5minute food.. Was a decent lineup, which is good for the business. Didn't get a tasting paddle as people lined up for food. Was okay with that 👍 I'm sure staff did their best. They were working super hard, and not much else open in the area. Excellent place to try new beers. On tap...pale, summer ale, hazy, Rocky Road stout, Hop heaven, West Coast IPA and HEAPS more! Place was packed so obviously wait for food was a bit longer, but seemed a go to destination for alot of people. Staff know their products. Food tasty and well priced. 5 🌟 for all-round experience. The wait for food was longer than usual, but I'm not a Karen and can understand it was super busy.

Popped in today for lunch and had a great time! Food generally was good, beers and beverages tasty and reasonably priced. Don’t get me wrong this is a good spot to visit for food and drinks. That said, a couple of minor points…. The interior could use a freshen up as it looked like some areas were being used for storage. Second the pepperoni pizza, whilst not bad, felt a little stingy in terms of toppings. One piece didn’t even have toppings! Potentially being a little harsh, but there was a couple of points which just stopped me rating it higher!

Really cool space. Food was really really good, the fries were one of the best I've had. Not a beer drinker but enjoyed 2 beers from the tasting flight (I don't remember what they were, sorry). Friendly staff. Overall, great vibes but maybe the indoor seating area could do with some more lights and better look.

So nice to have a brewery in wine country. We are not craft beer people but this place caters for all tastes. We started with a paddle and narrowed down our beers thanks to the helpful staff. Settled in for lunch and a few beers for the afternoon. Well worth the experience.

My wife and I arrived for a late lunch @ 2:20 pm and the kitchen was closed for the day. I'm still getting used to the sparse kitchen hours when traveling around South Australia. I winged about the limited lunch hours and the chef felt pity for me and made me a pizza. Yay!! It was a margarita pizza AND IT WAS GOOD! However, I would have left out the slices of tomato. It's was a little overkill. I'm happy with just tomato sauce, cheese and basil on my margarita. The chef even came out and asked if everything was okay with our meal then cleared our table. The brewery was right across from the kitchen and the beers that I had (the bee sting and the Indian summer session ale) were both good. There is plenty of inside and even more outside seating. Bathrooms we're clean and we'll stocked. I would come back and try more beer and explore more of the kitchen offerings.

The peanut butter and raspberry flavour beer were one of the best beer i have tasted so far, i would recommend trying those first before going any other beers! The only reason i am giving 3 star is food is way expensive than it should be! i ordered veggie supreme cost 28 bucks for that thin layer of cheese as you can see in photo very disappointed! I think that pizza worth only 15 bucks in my opinion! The fries were great, tasty and perfectly cooked! The price of beers are reasonable & great in my opinion!

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is the best word to describe this place. The overall atmosphere, food and views are extraordinarily wonderful. We shared a tasting between two which I highly recommend expectly if someone is driving. This gives you the opportunity to try a few different and very unusual beers available on tap. Unfortunately we didn't like most the beers on the tasting palette. We did both agree on the Indian summer and Hop Heaven as our preferenced beers. Cider is also available made by the brewery but not on tap. It has a very high percentage of alcohol 8%. Not recommend for those who plan to have a few glasses or driving. It has a bit of a different taste to the usual flavour to the general ciders I drink and not as sweet. Definitely worth a try. It be nice if this was an option on the tasting palette even if it was only available at an added cost option. The food was surprisingly really good. Not often do u find a Brewery which serves good quality share plates and food. The ribs are highly recommended. Even if like us you are not a fan of the "I can't believe it's not bacon" beer. It goes very well on the meat. The ribs where cooked very well with meat falling off the bones. We thoroughly enjoyed the share dish we ordered at the beginning of our sitting and found it went well with most of the beers. The dips and bread where outstanding. We even got a second bread which arrived at the table fresh from the oven. The Barossa Valley is an amazing location with exceptional views. This Brewery is located at the beginning of Tanunda and is no exception. I highly recommend dropping in her for lunch, tours or a few quite drinks with friends when in the Barossa Valley. We look forward to coming back again soon.

We enjoyed the beer tasting. The place was busy and filled with people who booked the tables so you’d better book a table or give them a call before you go just in case. Nice beer 🍺 over all!

Firstly I booked our accommodation over the phone with the Visitors Centre, and the lady was so friendly. I mentioned that when we were in the Barossa I would drop in. The gentleman that looked after us was so friendly and efficient. He asked what we like, then mapped some ideas for us. The Visitors Centre certainly enhanced our stay in the beautiful Barossa.

My wife and I made a last minute decision to visit the Barossa Valley from Adelaide and arrived in Tanunda just after midday. We stumbled into the information centre hoping to get some ideas on what to do and see and left with an afternoon itinerary filled with wonderful sights to visit and wine and food to taste. Before we knew it a wonderful young man (Adam) took it upon himself to assist us, he asked us all the important questions (how long we had/what we wanted to do etc) and mapped a wonderful afternoon for us. Adam provided a map with highlighted suggestions and in what order we should view them and it was timed to perfection. Thank you so much Adam, our visit was simply wonderful because you took the time to assist us.

We hired 2 bikes from here to explore this part of the Barossa. Both Kate and Adam were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, giving us some great tips on places to visit. The bikes were in excellent condition and both very good makes. We would highly recommend the Visitor Centre for bike hire and for gaining knowledge about the surrounding area.

Rented an ebike here for my wife. Excellent service with all staff going over and above. Dean couldn't do enough to help us and sorted us with bike and helmet in no time. Thank you for an amazing trip. My wife could finally keep up with me on a ride.

We had an amazing day riding the Barossa Bike Trail. We started at Tanunda Information Centre where super friendly Adam and Kate got us on our hired e-bikes. We rode to Anguston, all easy and mostly flat, we then journeyed back through the beautiful vineyard surrounded paddocks. First stop was Kaesler cellar door for sensational wines and service. Next onto Château Tanunda for more fantastic wines. These two wineries were outstanding and the bike trail the perfect way to enjoy the region. Definitely a great way to enjoy the Barossa!!

Char Barossa is a top-rated Australian restaurant in Tanunda, offering a delightful dining experience. The area boasts an array of culinary options, from fine dining establishments like Hentley Farm and Vintners Bar & Grill to charming cafes such as Darlings and Red Door Espresso. Whether you're craving Mediterranean flavors at Harvest Kitchen or American classics at Barossa 50s Diner, the region has something for every palate.
We had a fantastic dinner here. Everything we ordered was amazing: focaccia, light and flavorful kingfish crudo and arancini. We adored our mains: gnocchi and fantastic eye fillet (highly recommend to go with red chimichuri and cooked medium rare). Wine was excellent and service was attentive and warm. We can't wait to be back!

Five Stars for Char Barossa! We caught up with three friends for a Saturday night dinner at The Char last week, and we’re still talking about how great the experience was—so it’s only right to leave a review. We had a last-minute change to our reservation, and the staff handled it effortlessly, quickly resetting a table to accommodate our larger group. Their professionalism and warm welcome really set the tone for the evening. The drink list was excellent, and we appreciated being able to do BYO as well. Service was spot on—attentive without being intrusive. Our glasses were always topped up at just the right time, and everything flowed seamlessly. We started with three entrées to share: dumplings, charred octopus, and twice-cooked pork belly. Yum, yum, yum—what a way to kick things off! For mains, my husband and I shared the herb-crusted lamb rack and the tea-smoked duck breast. Both were absolutely delicious—cooked perfectly and full of flavour. We finished with the dessert tasting plate, which was a delightful way to end an already incredible meal. From the service to the food, everything was top-notch. Highly recommend for a relaxed but high-quality dining experience in the Barossa!

We got two takeaway wagyu beef burgers at $22 each with chips and omg, they were incredible. Fresh with nice thick brioche buns that didn't fall apart. The burgers had fresh, flavourful ingredients and were juicy (not oily!). We received a generous amount of nicely seasoned French fries. This was our first time visiting char, but will definitely be going back anytime we crave a burger. My picture didn't do it justice

Had the prime fillet medium and the 12 hour slow cooked ribs - both were juicy and cooked to perfection. Their side juice and caramelised onions added flavor. Their kids menu was great too - chat steak for the kids was a first - maybe more sauce or dip for the kids. Good wine selection - but that’s a given in Barossa
Royston L — Google review
We had the platter for two. It was reasonable value and all the meat was good. I think the plate should have been warm as it got cold quickly and I would have rated one of the beef’s as “blue” so slightly undercooked in my opinion. We also had the flavoured focaccia which was nice. The wine by the glass was excellent however.

We visited Char Barossa late in the evening after a long drive from Victor Harbor, and it was exactly what we needed. The space was warm and welcoming, with friendly service that made us feel right at home. We started with the arancini—crispy, creamy, and full of flavor—then enjoyed perfectly cooked steak and pillowy gnocchi. We paired everything with a local Riesling, a crisp Pinot Grigio, and a light Barossa Grenache that was beautifully balanced. It’s also very kid-friendly, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. A perfect end to a long, action packed day.

Chateau Tanunda is a historic 19th-century winery in Barossa, with guided tours and tastings. The estate boasts beautiful gardens and a cricket oval, making it an ideal spot for a picnic. Its rich history dates back to the 1840s when Prussians first migrated to the Barossa. Visitors can enjoy scenic routes from Tanunda to Angaston via Bethany, offering stunning valley views.
Lovely visit. This place was the biggest winery in the Barossa valley. The staff was able to accommodate us for a nice tasting session. We learned a lot interest facts about wine and grapes in this region. Not normally a fan of wine but I found some wine I liked here. The cellar was also a bit of a museum. Lovely team members here helped us through everything. The front of the building faces the valley plain which boasts a superb view!

About an hour's drive from Adelaide, this vineyard is great for wine lovers and even if you are not, you can head over for a detailed explanation on how wines are made and have a wine tasting experience. What I liked about this Chateau was that during the class where they shared about their wines, every attempt was made to help you appreciate their products, and they even provided coloured notes for you to keep, after their guided tour. A recommended vineyard to visit.

This is absolutely stunning!!!! A must see if you’re in the Barossa. The chateau is beautiful… the hounds are stunning… and the cellar door is opulent. We opted for a tasting and our host Rachel was fabulous… she explained the wines in detail and gave us a history of the chateau which was fascinating. You absolutely must put this on your list to visit in the Barossa, there are a lot of “commercial” wineries in the Barossa, but this one was an absolute standout for us. Great service and amazing overall experience. We loved the Tawny, shiraz ( old vine) Shame they don’t promote themselves on trip advisor etc… but maybe they’re happy enough with the number of visitors they get .

We made a quick stop here and opted for the Explorer Tasting. The staff member looking after us was incredibly generous, expanding the experience to include sparkling, several Shiraz and port options, and even some whites. While the overall style wasn’t exactly to my taste, we did find a couple of reds and a port we really enjoyed and took a bottle or two home. The premises are impressive, and the staff are both knowledgeable and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.

We had an excellent experience at Chateau Tanunda. The private tour and tasting was well worth it and we were delighted by our guide, Roslyn, who was charming and well-informed about both the wine and history of the site. The wines were exquisite too. A must do in the Barossa Valley!

Nice and beautiful place. Historical, Typicity and quality wines producing in Barossa Valley. Current Prime Ministet of Australia Mr. Anthony, current China President Mr. Xi and previous US PM Mr Obama did drink the wine produce in here. There is picture in the the wines tasting area to prove it. The staff is well trained and familiar with the wines. They introduce the wines one by one while you taste it. Personally recommend to taste those award winning wines. It is rather enjoying and delight, you definite will find one that suit you.

Only positive things to say, will definitely be back. My fiance and I got the fish burger, steak sandwich with the lot and hot chips. The chips were perfectly salted and cooked. The burger and sandwich were also super super tasty! And the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Thanks guys!

We visited this shop during the Gather Round Street Party and they did a fantastic job with service and quality. We didn't have to wait overly long and the food was so fresh and of great quality/price. We will certainly be back for the fish and also the amazing chippies!!

Great burger, chips and gravy. Bit of a wait time considering it wasn't too busy but otherwise all good. There are some small tables for those that choose to eat in or there's some seating directly across the road close to public toilets/visitor centre.

Great value and friendly service. Only had a small order but was glad I stopped in. Delicious chips and gravy although I thought the fish was on the small side. Would absolutely come back next time I'm in town though.

We bought 2 Barramundi fillets on Good Friday and were very disappointed. Probably the worst Barra I've ever tried - old with a fishy smell, neither me nor my fiance could finish it. The batter was thick, chewy and dark in colour indicating old oil. Also asked for chicken salt and got no salt at all. It cost us over $30 for two pieces of fish, no chips and a single drink which is a lot to pay, especially for poor quality food.

Best chips etc in Tanunda..great freindly service and very clean and tidy ..highly recommended
Rosey C — Google review
Visited on the way home, didn't enjoy this. The potato cakes that we then found out are called fritters here were thin and uncooked. Looked like a sad little disaster. The chips were average and the fish did not look appealing at all. Too many flies on dine in made me feel quite yuck about eating my food. Not sure when I'll be back to Tanunda but it won't be to come here in a hurry.

Nestled in the heart of Tanunda, Vino Lokal is a delightful wine bar that pays homage to the rich European heritage of the Barossa Valley. This charming spot has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike, offering an impressive selection of regional wines paired with delectable dishes designed for sharing. The menu features an array of snacks, charcuterie, cheeses, and Chef's Plates crafted by Ryan Edwards, making it perfect for those looking to enjoy a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience.
Solo female diner. I hadn’t made a booking for a Friday night but was welcomed. I was shown to the nicest table in the place, window view. The service was prompt, friendly & informative. The dishes were explained in detail. I made my choice & was offered a smaller serve of fries, suitable for one. Lovely. The meal was flavoursome, as promised. The atmosphere was relaxing & service - perfect. Highly recommend if you are in Tanunda.

A lovely gem, had a family outing and they were kind enough to accommodate without a booking. The atmosphere is lovely and the food was very nice. The pumpkin dish had a lot of flavour with many textures from the creamy pumpkin to the crunch of the lentils making it a wonderful experience each bite.

Fantastic food, coffee, service, vibe! This place is great - highly recommend! We ordered the mushroom ragu on toast to share and the serving was very generous. Not only that, they split it into two plates without us having to ask which was a very nice touch. Coffee was perfect and the home-made baked goods on the counter - delicious and not too sweet. Venue is nice and waitstaff were helpful and friendly. Definitely will be back!

We have been coming to Vino Lokal regularly for the last 18 months. When I say regularly, I mean we're there four or five times a week with up to 6 guests a day. Out of the hundreds of guests we've brought in, there has been nothing but amazing glowing feedback from all. We often hear guests say "That was the best meal we've had in Australia so far!". Too right. The team at Vino knows food and hospitality. Whether it's the chili egg scramble for breakfast, the chicken salad for lunch, or braised lamb for dinner - the food is always super fresh and expertly prepared. If you're in the area, don't think twice to drop into Vino's for a specialty coffee, a quick bite, long lunch, or a glass of wine. You will not leave disappointed.

Asian restaurant
FermentAsian is a Southeast Asian restaurant located in a classic stone house with a deck, offering a unique dining experience. The chef uses homegrown produce from their transformed gardens to create mostly Vietnamese-inspired dishes infused with Australian flair. The menu features exotic yet refreshingly simple dishes like cauliflower with chickpeas and tahini, grilled prawns with mango, betel leaf pork, spring rolls, and massaman curry.
Enjoyed a lunch here and it was fantastic. Was surprisingly quiet considering the food was amazing - especially the spring rolls. I'm not usually a spring roll fan but these were perfect with chicken/mushrooms inside, light and crispy batter and served with a sweet and sour fish sauce. Staff catered very well to pregnancy dietary requirements and were very friendly and attentive.
Rohan M — Google review
We were here 3 years ago, seems they now trade on a reputation that is somewhat waning. Expensive and pretentious, a massive wine list featuring wines by the glass that are unknown but pricey. $23 for 2 spring rolls, very nice but seriously… Overall the food was good but that’s all, I’ve certainly had better for less.
David T — Google review
Seriously the chef does not like a couple to share his $84 mystry surprise menu catered for 1 person. Total BS wine by bottle is overpriced $170. Staff appeared a bit stuck up condescending, by our casual appearance. I read about the Vietnamese lady who founded this joint. She would have been disappointed. Are you trying to rip off the rich. Or are you seriously trying to cater for those adventurous weather travellers. Seriously you've stuffed up placing couples on top of each other., when the restaurant is bare. I dont want to listen to the woes of their marriage. So annoying when the restaurant is very spacious, and dozens of empty spaces at 6pm.. What is that about? BTW the food is great looking but lacks seasoning and love. I am extremely dissatisfied as the price $ 179 included a beer 2 wines a shaired entree and duck and chicken main. BTW we had Thia food yesterday at Harndorf family cooks, a third of the price was delicious made with love, service was exceptional This restaurant is for the like for those people who look beautiful but r seriously fake. Do NOT go here .

Nice restaurant, the food was ok unfortunately, there wasn't a stand out dish that I could think of. The service was amazing however so that made up for the food.

We ordered 3 different pizzas while we are staying one of the Winery cottage accommodation. Reason able delivery fee $8 and amazing pizzas. Especially Diabola and Wagga Stagga. They are awesome!!!
Mira K — Google review
We have been getting our pizza from Amanti every weekend for quite some time now. They are usually really yummy and the toppings are not stingy. The gf base is actually really nice and not rock hard kibble. They have vegan shred and are reasonably priced. But the cogs started to fall off the wheels a month ago. One one order, one pizza was missing the extra topping we paid for & another pizza in that order (my sons) had a big thick hair needed into the dough which I pulled out and put in the box. It ended up being a paint bristle on later inspection as it was so thick and dead straight. Contacted them and the lady owner was really apologetic. Gave me almost a new free pizza (they credited the wrong pizza of margarita instead of the Hawaiian AND the margarita didn’t include the extra pineapple but I let it go). Then 2 weeks ago my poor son again got another pizza with hair in it. This time it was definitely human hair. At first I thought it was a beard hair as it was sort of kinked and had a ginger hue to it, though mostly brown in appearance. Later inspection showed it was a head hair as wasn’t as thick as a beard hair. Anyway, when I brought this to their attention the response from the owner man was extremely disappointing. I was gas-lit about there even being a hair and how no one had a beard but him and his is short and not red. Tried to then mention the bristle brushes they use. Used that to ‘brush off’ the fact of a hair in a meal I paid good money for. Even though it wasn’t my pizza it was in, I couldn’t even finish my own meal cos I was gagging at the thought of this hair and whether there might be some in mine. Zero cares given. Like sorry, end of story. So on that account you have lost a loyal repeat customer because I’m not paying for pizza that’s got peoples body hair or anything other than edible ingredients that are SUPPOSED to be in the pizza. Extremely disappointed and disgusted.

During an overnight stay in Tanunda, we ordered pizza for the first time from Amanti Pizza Bar, a beloved local spot in the Barossa Valley. The cozy indoor and outdoor seating, alongside the vibrant, quirky handwritten menu packed with unique pizza names and creative combinations, instantly stood out. While many customers collected takeaway orders that evening, my wife and I enjoyed the peace and charm of the dining area almost to ourselves. The pizza was great--fresh, full of flavor, and a highlight of their eclectic menu that features everything from classic options to gourmet combinations like brisket, etc. Notably, the handwritten menu has become a fun local icon, with many regulars snapping photos and recommending Amanti Pizza Bar for an authentic Barossa Valley experience. Overall, the friendly service and inviting atmosphere made our visit memorable.

We actually ate here twice, once by design and the second because we were probably a wee bit drunk for our fancy dinner reso and the previous nights pizza was still in our memory 😂 we got the family size supreme, jalapeño instead of anchovies and it was legit 💯 🍕

Ordered online and was informed pizza would be ready to collect in 20min. I then proceeded to pay and after processing, the message immediately changed to say it would be ready in 50 min. Obviously they know they're busy, but they just con the public just to keep the sale! I arrived on time but then waited another 20 min. Just poor service and communication. Don't think I'll be back.

Ordered two large pizzas and a pull apart at 6:00pm Friday night. Estimated delivery time was 30 minutes. 3 hour later, no delivery, no and no phone calls to advise of any changes. At 9:07pm online app says it will now be delivered 11:00am Saturday. … I tried to call 16 times and got no answer. Drove to the store and it’s closed and all lights are off. House full of hungry kids, no communication and they charged me $70~ privilege. Cheers Amanti!

Day 2

Southeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the southeast side side of town. Start the day off with Barossa Bowland, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Barossa Sculpture Park. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Barossa Bowland is a family-friendly center in Tanunda, located 70 km from Adelaide. The town is surrounded by vineyards and offers a great wine tasting experience for parents at Z Wine while kids can enjoy their own tasting plank with local treats. Barossa Bowland features bowling and a mini-golf course with interactive model dinosaurs, making it an enjoyable day out for everyone. Visitors love the fun atmosphere, varied skill levels of the courses, and the friendly staff.
Great morning out, we did the bowling/mini golf/ maize package. The bowling had automatic bumpers for the young fella. By the time we got to the golf it was very busy and a bit slow, but good banter with others. The maize could do with some shade, but the dinosaurs were really well done. Was over $100 for 3 but filled 2 hours. Probably something we would save to once a year treat

We had a lovely time. I took the boys to play some mini golf. We loved the dinosaur theme and the maze. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was fast and filling.
Trude P — Google review
While the front is rather nondescript, we really enjoyed the theming of the maze and mini golf. For the maze, the puzzles that are incorporated into the maze were a good way of pacing out our time there. We did have a minor issue with not knowing that some of the maze's gates don't open, but that was resolved rather quickly. The mini golf looked nice and having buttons to manually trigger dinosaur noises was amusing. Hole 16 is evil but overall it was enjoyable. I'd recommend it to anyone who has children and/or likes dinosaurs.

We had an absolutely amazing time here! The mini golf was a huge hit, with fun themes and great designs featuring dinosaurs 🦕🦖 and even a crocodile 🐊. It was such a creative and entertaining experience for the whole family. The bowling alley 🎳 was another highlight — it was so enjoyable, especially because the music wasn’t too loud, which made it easy to relax and enjoy ourselves without feeling overwhelmed. The arcade games were another fantastic addition to the day. There were so many options to choose from, and everyone found something they loved. It’s the perfect place to keep kids and adults entertained for hours. We were also pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty, making it even easier to spend the whole day here without needing to leave for a meal. Another big plus was how clean and well-maintained everything was. You can tell the staff put in a lot of effort to keep the place tidy and welcoming, which we really appreciated. This is a fantastic spot for a family day out, and we 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, stress-free experience. We’ll definitely be back for more family fun soon!

4 Generations family fun day. Dissapointed that we had to pay for 94yr old to walk around. Did not get seniors discount. Charged $16 not $14 after asking if we were seniors. Staff were not welcoming made us feel like we were intruding. Payed for 6 (4 adults and 2 children)for bowling golf and maze and 2 seniors walk. We had to move twice for our bowling lanes played up. We will not be back. Last time we were here we had a lovely time and the female staff were lovely.

Wow - first time here and very impressed. The lady at reception was very friendly, helpful and funny. Loved playing their mini golf while listening to the dinosaurs roar and seeing different dinosaurs along the course. There's also a maze and bowling. We had fun.

Tanunda Bowling and Mini Golf is an absolute gem in the Barossa Valley! Whether you're looking for a fun family outing, a casual day with friends, or even a date idea, this place ticks all the boxes. The mini golf course is creatively designed and well-maintained, offering a mix of challenges and fun for all ages. The themed holes are engaging, and it’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into making the experience enjoyable and memorable. The bowling lanes are just as impressive – modern, clean, and equipped with all the features you’d expect for a top-notch experience. Whether you're a pro or a beginner, the friendly staff are always on hand to help and ensure you have a fantastic time. The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, with plenty of seating and a well-stocked kiosk offering snacks and drinks. They’ve created a space where everyone feels comfortable and entertained. I also appreciated the attention to detail in their customer service. The staff are incredibly accommodating and genuinely passionate about making your visit special. Underground Barossa is a family-friendly cellar door located just a few minutes' ride from Tanunda's main street. The place offers an amazing wine tasting experience where each wine is paired with food to enhance its unique flavors. The staff, such as Sam and Jodie, are knowledgeable and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Additionally, the cellar door ensures that both adults and kids are well taken care of during the visit.
A random stop in for our group. We walked down stairs to be greeted by Sam who assured us the kids were welcome and proceeded to set them up with some chips, a drink and zooper dooper and drawing so us adults could enjoy the wine tasting experience. Sam was so knowledgeable, explained the different wines we we tasting and then let us taste some Tawny and Muscat. We all left with wines to enjoy when we're home. Would not hesitate to recommend.

The best wine tasting EVER!!! Arrived in Tanunda for a friends wedding and came here on the recommendation from staying at Tanunda cottages next door. We were taken care of, by Jodie who suggested some great wines and tasters to accompany! The wines are of a really high quality and went down rather easily. A great experience and I’ve been on a few wine tasters in my lifetime this is one of the best. I live in the UK but would definitely return again and would hands down recommend to any travellers looking for a great Barossa experience 😻

Amy and Sam looked after my guests of 4 adults today, the service, atmosphere and wine tasting presentation was all perfect, clients commented on their lovely experience and purchased a Grenache and a Tawny for the weekend treat. I recommend you book a wine tasting experience and enjoy the traditional service that you deserve. Regards George Wine Valley Tours.

The service was nice until our lovely person changed to someone else and she was extremely aggressive and confrontational on any questions asked. When we were leaving we asked if the deposit paid for tastings is deductible from the purchase of wine (as is with most wineries) and she curtly told us that it is up to management and she has chosen not to let us buy with the tasting deposit being deducted. Hence we did not buy anything. We were all appalled by the treatment we received from this particular lady. I cannot recommend going here.

Peter Lehmann Wines is a renowned winery in the Barossa Valley, established by Peter Lehmann in 1979 to support grape growers and their families. The cellar door offers memorable tastings, set amidst picturesque gardens and old stone buildings. Visitors can enjoy seasonal produce and the famous Weighbridge Platter while savoring the serenity of sprawling lawns and beautiful gardens.
Love this property. Unbelievable, awesome gardens with original buildings. Great service and wines
Domenic C — Google review
As a fan of Peter Lehmann Shiraz, it was a real pleasure to visit the winery in person. The property is beautiful, the wines are fantastic, and the staff are very friendly. However, I am giving a two-star rating due to the pricing. I expected to purchase wines at a better price than in the market, but their prices were actually higher. Despite spending $102 on two bottles, I was still charged $20 for a shared tasting — whereas at many other wineries, the tasting is complimentary with a purchase.
Max A — Google review
We visited Peter Lehmann Wines to celebrate a family member’s birthday. The setting was beautiful. The buildings and gardens were immaculate. The interior decor was outstanding. As there were eight of us, we ordered two flatbreads and the tasting plate. The flatbread was excellent, delivered hot and it was tasty. Well worth the $35 price. The tasting plate had a good selection of items, but they were a tad sparse. For a price of $54 we expected a little more of each item. (The attached image provided was unfortunately taken after most of the 'limited’ items had been consumed.)

Beautiful winery, stunning property! Will be back! The cab sav and sparkling Shiraz were a favourite 😊

Visited on Monday, so we had the place to ourselves. We were 4, myself, wife, nephew and his partner from Cairns, on only their second tasting session. Firstly, the tasting room is beautifully furnished, with a wood fire as the focal point where we had our splendid lunch. Our excellent host was Ian, very knowledgeable, but also personable. We overstayed our planned time by some margin, but the total experience was great fun. Our younger visitors particularly enjoyed learning about the wines (and tasting them). Highly recommended.
Philip C — Google review
**Underwhelming experience despite the setting** The location is lovely and the wines are decent, but overall the experience didn’t live up to expectations. I was especially disappointed that the wine tasting fee wasn’t redeemable with a purchase – something that every other winery in the Barossa seems to offer. It made the visit feel more transactional than welcoming. While the wines were good, they weren’t outstanding, and certainly not enough to justify the extra cost or the lack of flexibility. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it based on this experience.

As a wedding and event supplier, we've collaborated with countless venues and their staff, and the Old Redemption Cellar and their brilliant team standout every time! We absolutely love and adore working at this stunning, magnificent venue and making the magic happen for weddings/events with the A-Class team, lead by Jacqui and Katelin. They have their finger on the pulse, make sure everyone has been taken great care of (even fellow suppliers) and always go the extra mile. This is my first time visiting this estate, and I must say, it's absolutely fantastic! It’s a wonderful place to unwind, especially for children who want to enjoy a little adventure of their own after a day spent exploring the beautiful Barossa Valley wine region. The estate offers plenty of activities that ensure kids feel like they’re part of their own unique tour, rather than just tagging along on the adult wine tasting experiences. There’s a delightful café where you can grab a refreshing drink or a light snack, as well as a charming wine cellar that showcases some of the local wines. Additionally, for those with a sweet tooth, there's a lovely chocolate shop that’s definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend checking this place out – you won’t be disappointed!

Highly recommend the school holiday workshops! My kids had a fantastic time, and I couldn’t be more grateful to the wonderful staff. I had shared some dietary concerns before the workshop, and they went above and beyond to make sure my boys were well looked after .. even going as far as changing some of the products to suit their needs. The whole experience was so thoughtfully organised. The lunch by the lake was beautiful, the view was perfect, and the pizza and ice cream were a big hit with the kids. Truly appreciate the care and effort put in .. we’ll definitely be back!

Good but bad.... Yes it's a nice place, great atmosphere, chocolate is top quality, and very nice restaurant. However, not at those prices. 6 of us went, 2 adults and 4 kids. Rule was 2 items each. Then we had lunch, very underwhelming. Food was OK but once again, not at that price. Chocolate and lunch set me back $500. Apparently they have exclusive chips too, I got 11 of them with my burger. Yep, 11 chips, 1 handful. As the photo shows, $26 for about a $15 meal. $8 for a milkshake, I didn't measure the amount but I'd guess the glass was 200ml. They were nice people, very friendly, i suppose a visit just the once is ok. Mortgage the house first. (11 chips. Lol...)

As far as I know, there is not plenty of funs for young children in Barossa Valley. If you visit the Barossa Valley for wine tasting with young children, this Barossa Valley Chocolate Company is definitely a must-visit. Not just a chocolate shop, there is also a decent cafe within the same building. Good to come here to enjoy a quick lunch and perhaps purchase of some chocolates for kids. Unfortunately, no chocolate tasting nor sample was offered for trial.

We popped in here for a morning coffee, which was mediocre. This is a neat and clean establishment with good toilets . Plenty of seating both inside and out, facing a small lake. It is totally touristic and the prices are eye-watering. Check out the price of the giant “freckle” for 50 cents under $160. Mum and dad, this will be an expensive trip if all your kids want to take something home. Most packs are around $20 or more and don’t contain a lot of chocolate.

Great spot for chocolate lovers with a wide variety of treats—from truffles to bars—plus a cozy space to enjoy a meal or snack. The savory menu is a nice bonus, making it more than just a dessert stop. Prices are a bit high, but the quality and experience make it worth the occasional splurge.

Artisans of Barossa is a collective of talented winemakers who share a cellar door facility in the Barossa Valley. The group aims to promote small-batch, boutique wineries. The modern restaurant offers picturesque views over the vineyards and serves delicious food and wine. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings from 8 different winemakers, including rare and high-end options. Additionally, there's a delicatessen for casual dining and a spacious outdoor area where dogs are welcome.
Came in for a quick lunch and add-on wine tastings without any booking. They offer either casual lunch at their deli benches (which are really high chair dining tables) or formal lunch at their dining room. We chose the deli bench, but the service is still spot on. When ordering (at the counter), the staff made great recommendations. They also provided water and spittoon upon request, delivered to our table. We ordered jerky chicken and salmon, and they’re both delicious. The food seems to be designed for wine pairing, since they’re salty and/or greasy, but goes perfectly well with the Eden valley Riesling. Will def come again if we ever visit the area!

We came for lunch after a full morning of wine tasting elsewhere and didn’t have room for more wine—but the food alone made it well worth the visit. We sat indoors at Essen restaurant with a lovely view of the lawn outside. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming. We had the sourdough appetizer, scallops, steak, and grilled cauliflower—each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done. Service was excellent—the woman who served us was warm, friendly, and had a great smile. Highly recommend for the food, the setting, and the hospitality. We’ll definitely be back to try the wine next time.

had dinner here and it was outstanding. The view from our table over the vines was beautiful, and we even spotted a kookaburra outside. The food was amazing the kangaroo was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious, easily the highlight of the night. The Brussels sprouts were fantastic too, and the steak was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Next time we’ll be back for the wine tasting followed by another meal. Highly recommend!

Could not have celebrated a New Year's lunch any better. The food was delectable, the atmosphere heavenly, and the service impeccable. I would absolutely recommend this experience and look forward to our next visit. We enjoyed: * House bread with garden herb butter as a 'snack' * Roam sirloin with charred onion and chimichuri, and Margra lamb saddle with lentils and spiced yoghurt as our 'mains' * Raspberry doughnuts to finish.

Really enjoyed the wine tasting and the scenery. This weekend I believe it was Greg and his partner from Hobbs working in the tastings and they were absolutely fantastic service and we really enjoyed it. Only issue was the team member behind the bar, she was not welcoming at all and we were looking for some light eats and she literally gave us 60 seconds to order while we were getting a great story during the tasting. If we didn't order in 60 seconds no food or something like that. Was a good day but the lady working there was diabolical in her service skills.

Wow! What a beautiful experience we had last week at Artisans of Barossa! The wine was superb, the service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Highly recommend a visit. Thank you to Jonathon, Rachel and Hazel - you were all a delight and so very helpful! Well done.

Such a great concept to have 7 highly rated winemakers in one destination. The team there are so knowledgeable on the wine. Friendly and easy to sit back for a lazy afternoon learning about the wine and the area. Good to meet the winemakers and hear their stories. Of course after a generous wine tasting experience we moved across to the restaurant where the team were friendly and attentive and the food was divine. This is how to spend your day

Nestled on Mengler Hill Road in Bethany, the Barossa Sculpture Park boasts a stunning collection of 17 locally crafted marble and granite sculptures that stand out against the rugged landscape of the Barossa Valley. These abstract artworks, created during two sculpture symposiums held in 1988 and 2008, offer a captivating sight as they seem to have emerged from the ground to enhance the region's beauty.
We enjoyed our walk around the Barossa Sculpture Park. It was a warm day and there is limited shade, so take water and a sun umbrella for comfort. Dog friendly, just make sure the ground isn't too hot for their paws on sunny days. We will return on a cooler day to explore more thoroughly.

If you're looking for an engaging destination in the Barossa Valley after your winery tour, consider visiting another remarkable outdoor art sculpture park. This free attraction offers a stunning variety of sculptures set amidst the beautiful landscape, providing a unique contrast to the wineries. It's a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in creativity and enjoy the fresh air, making it an ideal stop for art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Take some time to explore the installations, admire the artistry, and appreciate the natural surroundings—all while making the most of your day in the Barossa Valley.

Fabulous views and wonderful, thoughtful sculptures. Easy to get to but there’s a bit of a slope if you’re less able.

Always fantastic views great to walk around all the different sculptures and to just breathe some fresh air whilst enjoying marvellous views. Go and have a look it’s not that far for a fantastic reward.
Steve M — Google review
Good to come here to have a view of the Barossa Valley. The sculptures are not very meaningful things, as there was no sign or directory to tell you if there was a story behind them. There was even no sign to tell you which type of rock was used for the sculpture. There was no toilet, no shelter, but there were two tables with bench though. The sculpture park looked lack of maintenance. Perhaps there are not many interesting things to do in Barossa Valley except wine tasting. There were many visitors and the car park was full during my visit on last Saturday.

Tanunda Bakery & Cafe is a must-visit spot in Tanunda, Australia. This iconic bakery offers an array of delectable pastries and cakes that are perfect for fueling up during a day of winery hopping. The traditional pasties are large and delicious, while the range of cakes is extensive, making it hard to choose just one. Additionally, the coffee served here is also highly praised by visitors.
Quality bakery with an amazing array for quality goods. Dining inside and out. I had a cheese and bacon roll, delish and hit the spot after a drive over from Adelaide 👌🏻

We were served this ‘fresh chicken’ that looked like scraps and the fatty leftovers. After bringing this to their attention we were asked to pay for a replacement and the manager said “that’s just how it comes” with no apology or any accountability for this disgusting looking ‘chicken’. Absolutely terrible customer service and food quality. Do better

Pretzels ARE as good as they say, quite possibly the best pretzel I've eaten. Great range of items, friendly staff and I enjoyed my chunky steak pie and pizza scroll. 5/5 from me but wifey took a point off as didn't quite enjoy her steak and mushroom pie
Brando P — Google review
Well presented and abundant food to choose from in the shop. Unfortunately, I chose the Pepper Steak Pie. When I opened the bag I thought they had given me a “lasagne slice”. It sure didn’t look like a pie 🥧 It was flat and rectangular. Well anyway, the first bite revealed a sloppy gravy filing that had no substance and minimal evidence of steak. Please see my pictures, it’s true!
Stuart B — Google review
We were served what was meant to be ‘fresh chicken,’ but what arrived at our table looked like scraps and fatty leftovers — completely unappetizing and nothing like what was advertised. When we raised this with the staff, instead of an apology or any accountability, we were told “that’s just how it comes” and were asked to pay for a replacement. The quality of both the food and the customer service was extremely disappointing. No effort to resolve the issue or acknowledge our concerns.
Emma P — Google review
Such a busy place with a long line. Service was friendly and there is both indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately the pies were sloppy, gravy filled with minimal meat/steak. The steak and mushroom had a few peices of mushroom. The chocolate eclairs weren't great neither.

Angus & Co. Barossa offers a delightful dining experience that combines excellent food with a charming atmosphere. Guests rave about the impressive wine selection and the thoughtful addition of extra napkins on tables. The standout dish is undoubtedly the special octopus, which features tender meat paired with a vibrant salad. While main steaks are cooked to perfection, some diners have noted inconsistencies in service and food timing during busy nights, particularly when it comes to wait times for meals.
Food was incredible, as was the service from staff. My fiancé and I came here for valentines dinner and it was so romantic and beautiful atmosphere.
Katie N — Google review
$50 steak was chewy and served with no sides. Sides are extra, as is sauce. Lamb was the same, no sides. Tomato on plate was undercooked, cold and had no seasoning or flavor. Mash was good, but for $5 was tiny. Veg was a decent size. We also did breakfast to see if it was any better. Cold waffles with american style bacon (overcooked) wasn't great. Get a new Chef who can price a menu properly and cook good food. Building was nice but carpets in dining room need a good clean.
Paul T — Google review
A pretty decent experience in a stunning atmosphere. Myself and a group of 6 attended on a Saturday night for dinner. The service was pretty good and drinks came out promptly. However, there was significant waiting time for food to be served at our table. Kitchen looked rather understaffed and the venue was only 30% full. The chicken parmigiana looked a little sad, but good portion sizing. The steak sandwich was quite good, great flavour on the steak, however the chips were cold. Overall the venue is very visually appealing, however the wait times and food could be improved. I would probably return if in the area.
Decklan M — Google review
What an absolute disappointment. We were the FIRST people to arrive for lunch and yet somehow ended up being the LAST to get our meals. Customers who arrived well after us had their food served before we even saw a plate. We ordered two $47 sirloin steaks (one medium, one medium-well) and a kids meal. The steaks came out alone on huge plates with nothing but two sad, dehydrated-looking roast tomatoes. No sides. Sides had to be ordered separately – roast potatoes, broccolini, and chips – which just added to the bill. For a place trading on the Angas name, you’d expect a half-decent steak. Instead, both were a disaster. My partner’s steak was burnt on the outside but RAW in the middle. He couldn’t eat half of it and left it untouched for staff to see. Mine was basically raw too – I ended up taking it home to finish cooking myself! This is not “medium” or “medium-well” by any standard. For $47 a steak, this is laughable. We raised the issue and, after paying a total of $180 for two steaks, sides, a kids meal, and a few drinks, the restaurant “kindly” took $30 off. Honestly, that was an insult more than anything. The fact that this is our second bad experience here (the last time our order was also wrong, but we didn’t complain) just seals the deal – NEVER again. To put it bluntly, whatever your chef is doing in the kitchen, it isn’t cooking. It’s careless, sloppy, and downright unacceptable. Angas & Co needs a serious wake-up call – because right now, the food and service are not even close to the standard the name suggests. Extremely disappointed, frustrated, and wont be back.
Jessica J — Google review
Started off a bit disappointed. Due to menu was nothing like what is advertised on webpage or even here on review. Spoke to waiter who was sorry about it but said there is nothing can be done about it ???? Was looking forward to the mixed grill. Ordered black garlic pizza bread, oven too hot so cooked but doughy as and close to burnt needs more of a garlic taste. Special octopus was devine. Soft octopus and beautiful salad. Main steak was cooked perfect and steak sandwich was tasty Nice Wine selection. Great to have extra napkins on the table. Overall very delightful dinner with wifey Did not order desert.

We had an awesome meals there over the long weekend. Some steak and salmon both were cooked on point and delicious. Thanks for a great meal.
Josh S — Google review
I expected and wanted more out of this place - large venue with booths, generous seating and a central fireplace Yet was very empty during a weekend visit, food was good but menu was limited. Not as many pub classics as expected. Considering the percentage of tables that were booked (read:quiet), we waited an enormous amount of time to get served - well over an hour for table of 4 with just one meal each, no frills and ordered drinks at the bar. Maybe this is why they're not popular? On paper they should be!
Candice S — Google review
Value, service and quality! Good food, with generous servings at a reasonable price. Friendly staff that were attentive and caring. The Wine selection is great and a few cheeky cocktails to top off a great meal. Options and games for the kids as well. Well situated and appointed for all year, any weather dining.

Modern Australian restaurant
Located in a charming 1918 home beneath a massive Norfolk Island pine, 1918 Bistro & Grill offers an upscale dining experience in Tanunda, Australia. The restaurant serves modern Australian cuisine with locally sourced wines and provides a sophisticated atmosphere for guests. Dishes include adventurous Mod Oz options like duck pate with crab salad and baked haloumi or buttermilk quail with tamarind chutney.
Sensational. The eye filler was a standout and the service was impeccable. I had the bread 🥖 and olive 🫒 oil, duck entree, grilled octopus 🐙 eye filet 🥩 pressed potato’s 🥔 and garden 🪴 salad 🥗 …. Also a delightful affogato with frangelico I also had a couple glasses of red wine 🍷 and everything was greet. This is a great place if you are after quality and in Tanunda.

Charming little bistro in an old house. Loved the space, and loved the vibe in the seperate rooms. Great friendly service and some solid food. Steaks, potato’s and Brussels for us both served with a bottle of Sangiovese, what’s not to love? ♥️

A crackling fire on this chilly day, beautiful Barramundi with Asian flair, and Brussel sprouts that will convert even the most stringent “sprout opponent”, were everything we were looking for from the Barossa today. The service at 1918 is fabulous - the staff know their dishes and the wines well. Thank you 1918 we’ll be back.

1918 never disappoints. The food was exceptional — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked. The menu has a great variety, with something for everyone, and every dish was fresh and delicious. The service was just as impressive — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. The team clearly takes pride in what they do, creating a relaxed yet professional atmosphere. A must-visit in the Barossa! Highly recommend 1918 for anyone looking for top-quality food and excellent service.

Warm atmosphere and lovely staff. Glad they moved us inside as there was heavy rain and cold winds. Amazing dishes that were cooked perfectly. The scallops and kangaroo entree were delicious and the mains could not be faulted. Haven’t had such a good and filling meal in a while. Highly recommend and would go back if passing through.

Unexpectedly pleasant! We were looking for a dinner venue for us, which is limited for a Wednesday evening and with a 10month old. We found 1918 menu to have a good offering so we'd thought we would give it a go; and we are glad we did. The food did not disappoint. Kids menu offered variety to just "deep fried". The hospitality was amazing, as was the ambiance. Everyone was lovely, even the other diners. Our only regret is that we didnt arrive hungry after a day of indulgence around Barossa. All in all, we had a simple but very enjoyable evening. Out of the few dishes we tried, the octopus dish was delicious.

My wife and I went here on our babymoon. The staff placed us by the open fire and left a love heart on the table, which definitely made our night. The staff were amazing but the food was even better, literally everything we had was perfect and we wanted more. I'm shocked we didn't roll out at the end of the night. It's obviously a little pricey but you get what you pay for!

Rockford Wines is a historic stone building that offers sales and tastings of locally made wines, as well as sauces and chutneys. The winery features traditionally made, small-range wines, including reds from smaller labels like Teusner, Langmeil, Kalleske, and others. Visitors can witness the wine-making process and even see grape vines being shoveled into an antique grape de-vining machine. The staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines they offer.
This Winery was so good, it ruined it for all the others! Small, intimate winery made traditionally meant every type was smooth, easy to drink, and just delicious. You can absolutely taste the difference between Rockford Wines and other local mass-produced wines. Free wine tasting was a bonus, and staff were very knowledgeable about the grapes and whole wine making process. Highly recommended.

Went on a Tuesday. Gorgeous place and vibes. Wines are impeccable. Light and tasty and the basket press is unique and definitely needs to be tasted. The highlight though was the service. Blonde lady with a slight UK accent served us and she was just amazing. Made the whole thing come together like a good wine and cheese.

Rockford Wines is a Barossa is such a gorgeous place to visit to try the local wines The beautiful stone buildings create such a charming setting, but what really made the visit special was our host, Sienna. She was very welcoming and her knowledge of the wines and the history of the region turned the tasting into a personal and memorable experience.

For 25 years I’ve always said If I had a weekend to live I’d spend it at Alain Ducasse’s Bastide de Moustiers in Provence (scoffing down the Truffle gnocchi). Having now had my first Stonewallers lunch, I’ve revised my desired last moment to be sipping Black Shiraz in front of the fire in the Rockford Cellar door (after lunch). Stellar wine, made and shared by stellar people in a setting to die for ( but not just yet) 😊

A MUST STOP winery in the Barossa. Absolutely fantastic, unique and wonderful winery. Kris ran us through a free tasting of their 10 wines. She did a fantastic job and was very knowledgeable, friendly and kind. The winery itself was beautiful, we were there in May so couldn’t see everything functioning. However, come from on Feb-April and you will see it all in full working order. It’s incredible. The old buildings and autum leaves were INCREIDBLE. All their wine was delicious and we ended up buying a few bottles!

Had a wine tasting and lovely picnic out on the spacious lawn next to the vines. We had a table with umbrella although there are picnic mats available too if that is what you’d prefer. Wines were delicious (Shiraz/ Syrah). The lady serving us was friendly, helpful, engaging and so knowledgeable. Beautiful cheese and charcuterie plate (for 2 pax) as per my picture. We absolutely loved our visit here! We are on our honeymoon and have been exploring many wineries, and this one stood out in the best way. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for. We are very chatty people who love to dive into the stories behind a place — and this visit gave us just that. The history, the passion behind the winemaking, and the personal touches made this experience feel meaningful and memorable. The wines were absolutely delicious — thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. We especially loved “Old Block”, but truly, everything we tasted had its own charm. A huge thank you to Nishi for taking the time to share your knowledge and passion with us. This will be one of the highlights of our honeymoon. Highly recommend a visit here for anyone who values heart, history, and great wine.

First stop on our tour across time and space as we journeyed back in time to the Barossa Valley with Trailhopper. 🛸 Doctor Who Reviews: St Hallett Wines – A Shiraz Tasting Across Time and Space I landed the TARDIS just outside St Halley’s Winery—disguised as a modest vineyard sign, naturally. The vines shimmered in the South Australian sun like the surface of the Eye of Harmony. I adjusted my coat, checked my psychic paper (which now read “Certified Wine Critic”), and strode into the tasting room like I owned the place. Which I don’t. Yet. 🍷 The Wines – A Temporal Tasting Flight 1. NV Black Sparkling Shiraz Like sipping a supernova in a flute. Bubbles? Yes. Black fruit? Absolutely. It’s effervescent mischief with a dark heart—like River Song in liquid form. Notes of mulberry, spice, and a cheeky sparkle that could charm a Sontaran. I toasted the universe with this one. 2. 2015 Dawkins Single Vineyard Shiraz A wine with gravitas. Deep, contemplative, and aged like a Time Lord with a brooding past. Earthy tannins, black olive, and a whisper of eucalyptus—this one speaks in ancient dialects and pairs beautifully with existential dread and roast lamb. 3. 2021 Blackwell Shiraz Bold, brash, and unapologetically powerful. If this wine were a companion, it’d be Donna Noble: full of character, impossible to ignore, and slightly spicy. Blackberry jam, mocha, and a finish that lingers like a paradox. I may have tried to reverse-engineer it with my sonic screwdriver. 4. 2022 Higher Earth Syrah Ethereal. Elegant. Like floating above the planet in orbit, watching the seasons change. This Syrah is a whisper rather than a shout—violets, red currants, and a mineral edge that feels like stardust on the tongue. I suspect it was aged in barrels carved from meteorites. 5. 2019 Old Block Shiraz The elder statesman. Wiser than Gallifrey’s High Council and twice as complex. Layers of dark plum, tobacco, and ancient oak. It doesn’t just tell a story—it sings it in operatic tones. I sipped, I sighed, I considered rewriting history just to taste it again for the first time. 💬 Final Verdict St Hallet’s isn’t just a winery—it’s a temporal anomaly of taste. These Shirazes span centuries of style, from sparkling mischief to ancient wisdom. I left with a bottle of each and a renewed appreciation for Earth’s finest grape-based technology. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would I return? I already have. Twice. Possibly in the same afternoon.🧣🍇🕰️

We had a beautiful wine tasting with Melissa at St Halletts today. Melissa shared a wealth of knowledge, not only about the incredible wines we were tasting but about the history of the winery, the entire Barossa, the winemakers and gave us an insight into the entirety of the winery. It was such an amazing experience that the other tastings and tours we had booked for the day just did not compare! We enjoyed all the beautiful wines in our tasting and will definitely be placing future orders from this winery. Thank you!

We were rather disappointed with our cellar door experience. We were met by a nice lady who showed us to our booked tasting table, but that's where the pleasant part finished. All 5 wines were poured at once with a brief description of each and that was it. There was no one else doing a tasting, but the lady at the cellar door sat over at a desk and never came back to ask us how we were doing or if we'd like any more water or anything. Some music would have been nice, but there was some random sounds coming out of the sound system that sounded like a radio that wasn't quite on the station correctly. The tapas board we had for lunch was very nice, but due to our cellar door experience, we didn't buy any wines - the only cellar door during our visit to the Barossa where we 2didn't by a case(s) to ship back to Sydney.

St Hugo Wines offers an exceptional selection of red wines in a beautifully restored building that pays homage to the rich history of Hugo Gramp and his deep connection to the region. Visitors can savor St Hugo wines in the luxurious wine lounge or as part of a fine dining experience at the restaurant.
St Hugo – we loved every moment! From the exquisite fine dining and exceptional wines to the breathtaking views, we just didn’t want to leave. Fed, you were amazing! You made my husband’s day with your delicious wine recommendations. Here are some of our favourite photos from the day! 🥰🍷
Cheryl — Google review
First time in the Barossa Valley. St. Hugo's was our very first stop on Anzac Day. Angela was an amazing host with our tasting session. She had to juggle a few tables but did so with elegance and ease. Loved the Riesling. Loved the whole estate. Was magic. Five stars. We cannot wait to return ☺️
Lyndsay M — Google review
Our favourite winery - and all the way from Brisbane to see it and we have purchased some beautiful wines and popped ourselves on the mailing list - next time we will have a feed here we hear it is pretty good- staff exceptionally helpful!

went for the wine tasting at st hugo, with jodie being our friendly and amazing host! 🤭 she made the experience so enjoyable and i was very impressed by her knowledge of wines! she was able to describe them perfectly which really enhanced our wine tasting experience 🤍 thank you very much for the lovely time, we truly enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back in the near future! 🍷

We spend a most enjoyable time with Jodie & Paul. They were both so knowledgeable, friendly & informative about the history of the family, region & winery. We appreciated the tour of the premises & would highly recommend their wine tasting and a visit to this beautiful environment.

We did Discovery and Signatures tastings. The staff were kind and very polite. The whole experience was executed in a relaxed manner, we were not rushed or pressured.

We were impressed as soon as we walked n to the dining room. The food and beverage staff were very accomodating, friendly and took care of all our requests. We had a few allergies and they were so kind in helping us. Including the chef who says hi 👋 when you walk pass the open kitchen. We had a wonderful experience there and highly recommend that you pay the dining room a visit. The food is very well prepared and the chef took very careful steps In making sure that our allergies were addressed. The chef were jovial and made us feel very well taken care of with his delicious food. We Weill definitely return to enjoy the wine, the food and the company.

We did the Garden to Table experience. Initially we were greeted and taken for a stroll around the property and kitchen garden by our hostess Sonia. Informative, interesting and made even more pleasant by a glass of French bubbles. The property itself is stunning with views in every direction. The restaurant has a phenomenal feature fireplace and makes use of the views. We were then seated at a counter top overlooking the kitchen where we were introduced to the chefs, Simon and offsiders Liam and Ricky. All were exceptionally friendly and happy to discuss ingredients and techniques. One of the smoothest running kitchens I have seen. Even when they became extraordinarily busy there was no shouting or banging. Corrections made to junior staff with politeness and no malice. All the team members worked smoothly. The food was exceptional and of a high level of refinement. Each dish was designed around a few key ingredients and these were elevated to display their qualities. The bonus of sitting by the kitchen meant we were lucky enough to have a few tastes of dishes intended elsewhere. The matching wines from the estate were all of a high standard including the Grenache. An interesting change to have it as a single variety rather than a GSM. The finishing desserts matched the quality of the rest of the meal and I'm stealing the idea of a sour cream icecream! Before we knew it 3 1/2 hours had passed and we left pleasantly full but not overstuffed. An experience I can't wait to repeat and one we will be bringing all our visitors to.

Absolutely amazing winery. The staff were outstanding and so knowledgeable. Wine tasting was amazing and their food was yummy. Our kids had a great time with all the outdoor activities. Such a lovely winery and a must visit.

We had an unforgettable experience in this place! Exceptional service, a cozy setting, and an incredible wine tasting experience with delicious wines, it's is a hidden gem for any wine lover.

We've been to Turkey Flat a couple of times, sometimes with our dog, yesterday without. The wine is great, especially the famous Rose, but the staff have always been especially friendly and helpful. Toasted "Wurst" and "Turkey" with sandwiches, with olives on the side, by the fire was just what we needed yesterday. A quiet location away from the main streets of Tanunda, but still very convenient.

Highly recommend. Relaxed atmosphere, lovely outdoor space, welcoming kind staff. Delicious wins. Very enjoyable wine tasting. Top picks Rose, Shiraz 2021, Sparkling Shiraz 🍷
Jessica P — Google review
We had James who did our tasting in an historic room. Gorgeous wines at fabulous prices and his information wasn’t auto queue. Highly recommend a visit and they have a preservative free Shiraz

Turkey Flat wines is such a beautiful place to chill out any time of the year! I use the stunning features outside for family photo sessions and also shot an exclusive small wedding here for a couple form the UK. My husband loves the dainty looking bottle of sweet sticky wine they call the Pedro, so I always make sure I grab him a bottle when I visit! if you haven't been to Turkey Flat yet, make sure you chuck it on your list for places to visit in the Baros Valley! Just sat here today to edit some photos from a family shoot this morning, fire is going and all. Thanks!

Had the best time. Did the wine tasting with cheese platter and it was delicious. Even bought 4 bottles afterwards. Kristie was fantastic and we had so much fun. Highly recommend :)
Julia T — Google review
Visited this lovely vineyard last weekend as part of a tour. The wines are superb. I didn't try a single variety that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. I even bought a bottle of their exceptionally good rosé, despite not being a rosé fan in general. The location is gorgeous, and you can sit in the garden under the gum trees listening to kookaburras and other bird life whilst you sample some top-notch wines. We did only the basic tasting experience, but it was very well done with excellent service, and now some of are looking to return to do their full tasting experience. Try their flagship shiraz. There's a good reason it's well-known as one of the best SA has to offer.

Fantastic wines and bought a few bottles of their 2014 & 16 Black Guts Shiraz. Best wines I have ever had. Paid a third visit today (in four days) to take advantage of the build your own cheese and deli plates whilst washing it down with a selection of their finest. Amazing staff and can't wait to come back.

Have been drinking this wine since 2010 and never made it to the cellar door. Finally after 15 years, I was able to go for a tasting. Staff were amazing. Tasting was very generous. Unbelievably, they had a bottle of Ripper Creek from 2010 for purchase which just made it all the more special.

Rusden Winery was an excellent experience! The wines were fantastic, and the winery itself had such a cute and charming feel. What really stood out was the great personal service — friendly, attentive, and made the tasting feel special. Highly recommend! Top wines at a great price point

Cute little winery with a great selection. Tastings allowed for choosing your own to get more of your favourites. Great service and friendly staff.
Laura W — Google review
Every time we come to the Barossa Valley we MUST include a trip to Rusden to try new vintages of our favourites and stock up for the year. They seriously know how to make good red wines especially if you like a big bold, well rounded red that doesn’t have very high tannins. Silky smooth magnificence ☺️
Leanne K — Google review
Mathilda at Rusden was simply fantastic, her knowledge and friendliness made our stay. The wines were beautiful and we loved our time at this family estate. The black guts wine was incredible.
Jessica M — Google review
We can't speak highly enough about Rusden Wines. The Ripper Creek Shiraz is one of the best full bodies reds you'll find for around the $30 mark. We also treated ourselves to a bottle of the Boundaries Cabernet. Worth every cent! Their team (thank you Matilda and Kate) also went above and beyond when we had issues with delivery to our home in Victoria to get it sorted. Thanks guys!!
Eddie O — Google review
We had the pleasure of tasting amazing Rusden wines with Murray who was attentive, knowledgeable & has a great sense of humour. We visited 7 wineries over 3 days & did not have one negative experience but, in our opinion, Murray is #1.

Harvest Kitchen is a restaurant located at Jacob's Creek Visitor Centre, offering a menu that focuses on the flavors of the Mediterranean and the Middle East. The restaurant prides itself on using abundant local produce to showcase the quality that Barossa and South Australia have to offer. With a focus on generous and honest dishes, Harvest Kitchen's menu is designed around seasonal ingredients sourced from local growers and suppliers.
Super vegan friendly! I enjoyed most dishes there. Didn't like the gnocchi and the pumpkin dish that much. I went with my friends who are not vegan and they also enjoyed the non-vegan dishes! It can get quite busy on the weekend and you might have to wait a long time before, between, and after the courses.
MD C — Google review
Very unique experience. We went for dinner. Looked beautiful with all the lights hanging and the huge gum light up. Fire pits shaped like Shiraz glasses. We ate inside but they had a lovely courtyard and rugs. Our dinner was a selection of chefs menu from Jacob’s Creek!
Chyrel S — Google review
We came here for an early 45th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. We enjoyed the “Feed me like a Barossan”option at $79 a head. It’s a good idea to arrive about half an hour before your reservation because a free wine tasting of Jacob’s Creek Premium Limited Release wines is offered. The food was fantastic and included a number of vegetable and meat options starting with bread, olives, pickled vegetables and the most delicious oyster mushroom paté. Food choices are governed by the chef who is motivated by what is in season. The atmosphere is light and airy as you look over the vineyards and a most beautiful old tree . Fairy wrens forage for insects in the grass in front of you. Service is friendly and efficient . Definitely worth a visit,

Wow! It’s been such a long time since we’ve had the flavour sensations we had here. We did the feed me like a Barossan, every bite of every dish was absolutely amazing, thank you! Service was also incredible
Leanne L — Google review
A great experience, very relaxing, and between Jacob's Creek and Harvest Kitchen staff a very pleasant time. Suitable for kids outside the restaurant. Could not have been a better afternoon in the Barossa.
Stephen R — Google review
Recommend to choose Eden ($65/p) instead of Barossa ($79/p) as there is not much difference. I had a look of the menu first and was quite expecting something different or a surprise from the chef as I was told we wouldn’t know what the chef would cook for us if we choose the Barossa (Chef feed you up) set. It turned out to be disappointed as the set look very much like the Eden one. The six starters are almost the same. The main is one of the three mains in the Eden menu. When I asked what’s the difference, I was told the sides and size may be different. The chef had to use what’s available. The food was generally okay, some good (broccoli) some bland (lamb rump, the main). Good environment and service.
Bo M — Google review
We had Chef’s choice and it was a varied selection of lots of food that I would never usually have chosen. Overall it was delicious. A few dishes had too many elements that got lost in the mix but it was a tasty selection. Service was friendly without being pushy, and staff were knowledgeable. Well priced. A nice experience.
Wuhwuhwil W — Google review
My husband and I went for lunch today and it was absolutely superb. We chose the Feed Me Like a Barossan option, and every dish was presented beautifully, full of new and enticing flavors, and really generous in size. The wine options to match were a great way to try lots of different Jacob’s Creek wines. The restaurant is light, airy, and we loved that the tables are oversized to accommodate the sharing of dishes, and spread out from other guests. What a delight, we will definitely return!

Kampung Kitchen is a charming Malaysian restaurant run by Chef Ya, who brings his expertise and warmth to the cozy eatery. Originally from Kuala Terengganu, Chef Ya has spent over 20 years in Australia and loves sharing his life experiences with patrons. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is described as delicious. Specializing in cuisine from eastern Malaysia, the menu offers flavorful dishes such as chicken percik, char Kwai teow, soup noodles, and duck curry.
One of the best food we have during our trip to Southern Australia. The chef offered us more spicy flavor and the food became really delicious and very comforting. Thank you. We ordered green curry, char kuey teow and spring rolls. All good!Very recommend!

Asian need Asian food post wine tasting. Kampung Kitchen Uncle was very friendly. Foods are on the sweeter side and less spicy but uncle said he deliberately made it that way so people can taste wine better after his food. #bulgogi_n_rendang

Absolutely loved the laksa! Creamy, rich, and bursting with flavour. Easily the best we’ve had in ages. Highly recommend giving it a try.
Obed R — Google review
Had the delicious ayam percik and the succulent chicken satay with peanut sauce. Both were astounding in flavour. The owner showed warm Malaysian hospitality and the ambience was unpretentious. Loved the atlases and books for browsing! If you’re in Tanunda, you should be heading here!
Ringrose — Google review
Food unrateable. poor service. atmosphere's was not pleasant. walked in to order meal since it was my birthday and first time we have travelled to Barossa we wanted to try authentic asian food and we came a cross this Malaysian restaurant the chef or owner of the restaurant he was very rude .we asked for roti curry he said roti is only $2.50 or with any curry for $13.50 so we decided to have with chicken curry with roti. what a disappointment. size of the curry came out wow unbelievable. not even quater size of chicken thigh fillets. 2 small bite size pieces and 2 roti for $13.50. when we ask where was the chicken the chef became defensive and aggressive. my husband had to ask him to clam down as this is the only restaurant of its kind in Tanunda it should be winner if the owner opened his eyes.
Livelove#laugh V — Google review
Tonight we got a take away order of curry puffs, satay chicken and Char Kway Teow. All three dishes were delicious! The satay chicken in particular blew our mind - we’ve never had a satay sauce like that! It was so good I was pouring it on my curry puffs too. The store front looks pretty unassuming, but definitely give Kampung a go! Would definitely return if visiting Tanunda again.
Mark E — Google review
Had chicken satay but was a bit pink on the inside. The lamb curry was more like a lamb kurma. What we ordered was below average in taste and quality. To his credit when we mentioned the chicken he did refund us the money for the satay. Cleanliness of the place could also be better, sticky tables and floors.
Yasshene M — Google review
The food here was amazing. In every bite you can taste the care and pride the chef has for his food. The staff, both the chef and the waiter were both very kind and attentive to us. They are a really good team. You must visit this place if you are in town!

It's a large cafe with large seating area on the outside. The breakfast and coffee was good. I had the hashbrown and smoked salmon and my partner the chili omelette. Both was done very well and was delicious. The poach egg on the salmon was well made too. Overall a good experience for about 60 aud

This is a very cute Cafe, a little strange walking through Priceline to get to one of the entrances. But never the less, it's a very nice place to go for a brunch if you are in Tanunda or visiting Tanunda. Great coffee and yummy breakfast and brunch options. 😊

This is a terrific little cafe located just off the main street of Tanunda. It is tucked in behind the pharmacy. It has comfortable indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy a coffee, light snack or meal. It has a broad menu to suit a variety of tastes. We had a lemon and almond slice and a berrylicious fruit smoothy. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Go there and spoil yourself!
