Amazing vibes specially during the night with good weather! There are a lot of restaurants, and shops there. We went during festa Junina (in June) and it was great since they had rua festas

It's a nice park to visit with family, friends or alone. It's the center of Bonito city, and surrounding the park you can easily find gifts and souvenirs stores, clothing stores, restaurants, tourism agencies and more. It doesn't have public restrooms, it does have a little scenario and sometimes there are music shows there, specially during weekends. There are a few parking spots, but they are usually not available in the afternoon/evening/night due to big crowds, so if you want to park your car there, you should go super early.
Araceli C — Google review
Beautiful square in the heart of Bonito, lots of benches to sit, and food vendors. Many locals come for a cool evening and enjoy the company.

In the evening it gets very active and beautiful, there are cool stalls, benches and hammocks and sometimes live performances. The place is only active from 8 pm (the lights come on) and the activity ends around 11-12 at night.

Family restaurant
Casa do João is a renowned restaurant in Bonito, known for its traditional cuisine and warm atmosphere. Managed by chef Felipe Caran, the restaurant's signature dish is the boneless traira, expertly fried to perfection. Additionally, Casa do João is celebrated for serving typical Pantanal dishes such as moqueca pantaneira, a tantalizing blend of pintado fish, cassava, palm oil, and plantains.
Amazing place, very good and special food and the service and staff is top notch! They did everything to keep the kids busy and happy. They have a very nice play area and also a small exhibition to see old cameras, radio antiques in general. They have alligator meat which was pretty amazing and special! I highly recommend this restaurant one of the best places we had lunch in bonito!
Yasmeen F — Google review
Food is great! Very interesting flavor of alligator. I ordered fashion traitor & Leo's pirarucu in two different visits and they are both great! They also have a very cute small museum with old home appliances and stuff, good to visit!

A Casa de João was a wonderful experience for us today! My sister and I had beef with chipa guazu, a savory baked corn and onion pudding. It was so tasty! Marcus was a very attentive and kind server! I would definitely come back!

We came to this restaurant to celebrate the amazing time we are having in Bonito. Our impression about the food and people of this Bonito place was not different at Casa do João. Delicious food and drinks and warm people. We will definitely come back. Thank you Rafael for giving us the best service.

Shout out to Marcos, the waiter for the great service and attention. Huge serving of great tasting food.

Holy cheesy fish. This place was amazing. We ordered the “painted with Unucum” which was basically a fantastic fish ptarmigan. But the red sauce was better and the cheese on top was to die for. Not a cheep place but fantastic food. .

Meat dish restaurant
Restaurante Pantanal Grill na Brasa is a popular dining spot in Bonito, known for its specialty in alligator meat. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes featuring alligator, such as breaded alligator bites and alligator stew, both highly recommended by visitors. In addition to their unique offerings, the restaurant also serves a diverse selection of fish and regional cuisine from Mato Grosso do Sul.
The food was very good, with great portion sizes. The service was excellent, and the restaurant has a good location. We had alligator for the first time and it was very tasty. The picanha was very tender and flavorful. The steak in the picture was a bit hard to chew, but it was the cheap cut which I don't recommend; still, it was tasty. I definitely recommend trying this place.
Krzysztof R — Google review
Really good food we had the picanha and lime juice and passion fruit juice with condensed milk. The beef was cooked to perfection.
Tobias S — Google review
Fresh and quality ingredients. Tried some food typical from the region like pintado a urucum, piraputanga a moda Ribeirinho and jacaré. All tasted very good and fresh. The portions were big (even the single servings), very good value of money.
Erna A — Google review
The restaurant is clean, the waitress are efficient and polite. Highly recommended!
Ivone C — Google review
They definitely deserve 5 stars. The service was great, every member of staff was helpfull and polite. The food was well cooked and delicious (the ceviche of piranha was the best) and the desert madd with thr Mato Grosso do Sul official fruit 'guavira' couldn't be more original, 1 fish main course (pacu) was enough to share for 3 people. Next time that I come to Bonito, this will be the first place that I will visit.

We wanted to try Jacare meat! And also get some more of the amazing Moqueca we tasted on one of the tours. We ordered Jacare grilled, and Moqueca Pantaneira(banana moqueca) and a suco de guarvira. Atm, we are full and happy 😂

Restaurant
Juanita Restaurante is a charming family-owned establishment located off the main streets of the town. During dinner, guests can enjoy their famous Guavira Caipirinha cocktails followed by specialties like Pacu en Brasa, a boneless and flavorful grilled fish served with capers, sautéed broccoli, potatoes, white rice, fried banana manioc farofa, and pirco de pintado.
Amazing service, excellent food. A place to be for excelent food. Not cheap but best price-quality ratio ever. We loved it. Fish is definitely the choice to go with. But wine and salat have been also fantastic. To bad we didn't go here for a second time. The best restaurant we found at our stay in Bonito
Wenzel N — Google review
Juanita! The top on all levels and I can say the best in bonito. The vibes were amazing during the cold rainy weather. They have a nice playground for kids. The food was amazing, there were live music. And all plates related to the alligator meat were amazing. I highly recommend it. It is a bit pricey but definitely worth it.

The Pacu na Brasa was delicious! We can't wait to come back!
Trey — Google review
We went to Juanita on the basis that it is the best restaurant in Bonito and we were not disappointed. We loved it so much that we went twice. On the first occasion we got a table straight away and each had an individual meal - the Pintado a Urucum and the Filè à Parmegiana. On the second occasion (a Saturday evening) we had to wait 25 minutes or so but we enjoyed a drink while we were waiting. We then shared the Pacu na Brasa for 2 people (which is enough for 3 or 4 people if you have a couple of starters) - the fish was perfectly grilled and flavoured. Juanita has great cocktails too (strawberry and mango mules were had) and the beers were crispy cold (glasses coming out of a -28°C fridge). There was even a special appearance by Juanita herself, sharing their reataurant specialty (aligator tongue) with guests (was delicious!). Great staff service all round!
Erin J — Google review
Very good food but a quite unpleasant experience. Noisy environment (almost impossible to chat) and zero cordiality from the host, maître d', and cashier. No parking and not even someone with an umbrella to accompany to the car, even with a bill of 500 reais (2 adults, 2 kids). There was a strong rain and they made a wrong promise to help with it that never happened. Parmigiana and Pirarucu were excellent. Room overly cold due to the strong AC unit blowing unevenly. Our order was messy. I had to ask 3 times for the same juice that was never coming. I still believe this is a good place due to the reviews, but at this only time I've been there we felt we were just a problem they had to handle so despite the very positive reviews from other people I must be true to the experience I was provided.
Mario I — Google review
Juanita Restaurant in Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil is a must-visit for any foodie. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience, with a menu that features traditional Brazilian dishes with a modern twist. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the service is excellent. I recently had the opportunity to dine at Juanita, and I was blown away by the food and the overall experience. We started with the alligator appetizer, which was cooked to perfection and served with a delicious dipping sauce. For our main course, we had the Pacu fish, which was incredibly flavorful. We also tried the negroni, which were perfectly made. In addition to the excellent food, Juanita also has a great selection of cold beer and wine. The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and can help you choose the perfect dishes and drinks to pair. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Juanita Restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and unique dining experience in Bonito. An especial thanks to our waiter Paulo Henrique, who offered us excellent service and help.

Very delicious ice cream! You can get as much as you want, it’s charged per 100g.

This was the worst ice-cream I ever had in my life. The ice cream tasted artificial and is horrible. The prices are sky-high for horrible ice cream. And by the way, they only accept cash/PIX. They don’t accept credit card. Worst experience in bonito.

Ice cream shop by weight like most of the places in Brazil. What I really like they have almost all the traditional fruits in ice cream. Friendly staff. Only 4 stars cause some of the flavours are really artificial and cone was old not crispy.

A huge selection of ice creams, including an array of tropical fruit ice creams. La Bonita is a lively bar located in the heart of Bonito, Brazil. It's part of the renowned Devassa Brewery and offers a wide selection of draft and bottled beers. The outdoor setting provides a vibrant atmosphere with live music, making it an ideal spot for an eventful evening. In addition to drinks, they serve delicious snacks, pizzas, sandwiches, and even offer a unique 'meter-long' portion. Visitors can enjoy the bustling Main Street nearby and explore various shops.
It’s a restaurant with a big outdoor area. The restaurant is located on the Main Street of Bonito. Sometimes it gets a bit loud but the live music makes up for it. We had a Texas Burger, which came with double beef (no up charge) and fries, it tasted really good. We had a beer (600 ml) to drink but the cocktails at the other tables looked very delicious. Very modern and luxury looking pizza restaurant in Bonito. Amazing wood oven pizza! We ordered a pizza per person, not aware that it is apparently more common here to share slices. Minor annoyance: the staff was constantly present around the table to put new slices on our plates. It is meant well, but we were perfectly capable of doing that ourselves and were keen on a bit more privacy while eating. Nonetheless, would recommend for some great pizzas!

Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata in Bonito, MS is an ecotourism destination that offers a variety of activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, horseback riding, and birdwatching. The tour begins with a pleasant walk through the riparian of Prata River and an interpretive trail where visitors can observe various trees, orchids, bromeliads, mammals, and different species of birds.
Best experience we did so far in Brazil. Half day activity swimming/floating with some small hikes and afterwards lunch. You will see a lot of fishes. Very safe and well organised. Fantastic location/river. They do pics along the trip (paid extra). You get all necessary equipment but can also bring along your own mask/snorkel/watershoes. I recommend to put dry clothes in one of the bags and give to your guide at the start so you are not wet on the short bus trip back. I hope the nature can be sustained as long as possible. Of course you need to book in advance with some of the agencies as everywhere in and around bonito

We loved our day here. The lunch was unbelievable - and I’m a vegetarian. The snorkelling tour was out of this world with crystal clear waters, millions of fish and expertly guided by Fabian (we think - sorry!) who was able to speak to us in great English as we embarrassingly have no Portuguese. The ranch itself was an amazing place to relax with tonnes of wildlife (toucans everywhere!) We would highly recommend this tour to anyone - thank you 😁

What a wonderful experience at this ecological preserve! The natural springs provide crystal clear water for this snorkeling experience. It was so nice to relax and watch fish that previously we had only seen in fish stores in the United States! Immersed in such beautiful surroundings while snorkeling with Nadia, our group guide, was magical. Nadia speaks English well and is a biologist. The river experience was followed by an amazing lunch!!

What an amazing experience. The staff are absolutely amazing, even for this gringo! The quality of the establishment, the equipment was fantastic. Thats all before you start your experience. The river snorkelling is an experience you do not want to miss. You do not need to be a great swimmer, you wear safety float vest and the river moves you. The nature walking (approximately 3 breaks walking in 400m total. So not difficult). Bring your waterproof cameras/mobile phones. No gear required all supplied. And the lunch afterwards was amazing. The day is relaxing, with hammock's to rest afterwards too. Highly recommend, not an experience I have found all over the world.. Graham from Australia

A nice place to chill out. It has a nice space and a good structure, full of birds and activities for children. It hasn’t got loads of food but some appetizers to not die starving. You can Kayak, try a stand up paddle and use the swimming pool. If you are up to rest some day on Bonito, this is a good choice.

Very nice place to stay a day long. It has a pool with slides and the water in the lagoon is warm. You'll see fish. The food is good.

Might be a fun place to hang out in a hot sunny day, but in a colder day (in our case 24’C) there was absolitely nothing to do outside water neither for adults nor for our kids. And the bar/restaurant alone is not worthwile the time.

Figueira Beach is a beautiful lakefront resort in Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the region. The beach is made up of soft white sand, and the water is crystal clear. There are plenty of places to sunbathe, swim, and play. You can also use kayaks and paddleboards. If you need a break from the sun, you can relax in one of the cabanas that are available for rent. There is also a bar and restaurant on site, where you can buy food and drinks.

For day 3, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Nascente Azul, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Estância Mimosa Ecoturismo - Cachoeiras em Bonito, MS. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Nascente Azul is an ecotourism complex in Bonito that offers a variety of attractions for visitors. The area was previously degraded by livestock but has been transformed into a popular destination with beautiful landscapes, diverse wildlife, and plant life. Visitors can enjoy activities such as diving, zip lining, and exploring trails while also taking advantage of amenities like a restaurant and changing rooms.
The best place to visit in Bonito - MS. Really, is a beautiful place, with nature and loads of activities and attractions combined. Incredible food and drinks. I would also like to thank a lot Marcos and Allison, the waiters, for the exceptional hospitality and support. Very helpful and always smiling. Me and my family really enjoyed the experience. Only the prices that are way too expensive but same in the whole city.

Had an awesome experience here and would highly recommend it for English speakers. The staff went out of their way to explain things to me in English the best they could which made the snorkeling tour easy to enjoy despite going solo and with my minimum understanding of Portuguese. Also, the food was incredible and so far the most vegan options I've found in Brazil! Even in winter the water was more than warm enough to swim without a wetsuit if you're used to English water.

Wonderful place. Crystal clear water teaming with fish. Great guide

We wanted to do all floating experiences, so we did Cave, river and Spring. Spring being the case here, it was different from the others, the water is a little "foggier" but there are a LOT more fish to see and swim with. if you are polite and careful, can be great, it is one of the most delicate environments we saw there, still I recommend.

Amazing!!!!! Awesome!!!! Special thanks to Mr. Zezinho, and the Chef. The Pintado with Urucum sauce was speechless Just love it !!

The park itself is nice if you go with children or adolescents, they will enjoy it very much. But the main reason why I went there was to snorkel in the Nascente Azul, and even though the activity was supposed to last 2 hours and 30 minutes, the guide showed up 15 minutes late and left us 30 before the end, so in total it lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes. But the worst of all is that we only spend 20 minutes in the water snorkeling; the place itself is amazingly beautiful, but the guide was rushing us all the time and didn't let us enjoy the activity. They spend more time taking photographs and videos of you (which they try to sell to you later, of course, at a high price) than snorkeling. So, even though the place is stunning (and that's why I give 2 stars and not 1), I wouldn't recommend coming here if your main motivation is snorkeling. I would go to Rio da Prata instead.

This is an excellent place for you to come and spend the day with the family. I definitely recommend the river snorkeling and the zip lining. Overall this is a place that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The drive here is also very pleasant as you do so via a dirt road with amazing views.

Estância Mimosa Ecotourism in Bonito, MS is a nature lover's paradise offering a range of activities such as hiking trails, horseback riding, and the chance to swim in natural pools and under waterfalls. As part of the Rio da Prata Group, it has won awards for its sustainability efforts and is dedicated to preserving the environment. A lot to see, not to hard trail and a lot of nice places to swim.

Very nice trip even for kids. Water is cold but you get used to it. Includes a little boat trip. Good meal and good guide. Bring water shoes otherwise you can rent them there.
Markus K — Google review
I recently took a tour of the waterfalls, and while the natural beauty is absolutely breathtaking, I found the overall experience somewhat disappointing. It seems a private company has taken over the entire area, dictating what you can and cannot do, which really detracted from the experience. Everything is very organised, but this comes at the cost of freedom. You have no flexibility with your time or the places you visit, as you're required to follow the guide everywhere. Honestly, the trail is so easy to navigate that the guide feels unnecessary. If you're looking for a place to spend your time freely, I wouldn't recommend this tour. It seems more suited for families who appreciate a structured environment. For those seeking a more independent adventure, there are surely better options out there.

Bonito Municipal Balneary is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering a relaxed atmosphere and activities for the whole family. Unlike other attractions in Bonito, it allows visitors to explore at their own pace without a guide. Situated along the Rio Formoso, this balneary features crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and observing fish. The facilities include restrooms, parking, snack bars, restaurants, and even wheelchair-accessible amenities.
I chose to visit Bonito's Municipal Balneary to see where the locals take their friends and family to unwind. A local taught me to add fruit to the end of a long stick and place it on the water to see the fish leap up to remove the fruit. After taking a few photos of the leaping fish, I just tossed the fruit at different areas so that they can eat it in peace. Vhuntermassage LLC

It was advertised as being cool to visit, but being honest, as a tourist coming to visit for the first time Bonito, my expectations were to find nature, well that didn't happen here as there are thousand of local people, and I hope I'm not taken wrong here but a touristic place does not involved be surrounded of an overcrowded place, where there was no space to sit by the river, no place to sit on the chairs, noisy, among other factors. You see only one type of fish swimming among people, but being with that many, you can't really enjoy this place. And besides that the only activities there are, either swim, sit on the restaurant or grill your own meat, and that's it. So we had to stay there without being able to do anything.
Edward L — Google review
If you want to see thousands of "piraputanga" fish and maybe some "dourados" this is the place. They're used to humans and will be swimming with you. A very safe place for families to enjoy a full day.

If your not brave enough to get in ice cold water then all you'll enjoy is seeing the clear waters and fish. The food is delicious, but the fun is swimming among the fish. You can swim down River for 7min and you'll feel like you own the place. Because its Tranquil and no loud music playing. BRING SNORKEL! Small place, but beautiful.

Ecological Park River Formoso is a stunning natural attraction in Bonito, offering a variety of water-related activities and beautiful scenery. Visitors can enjoy river tubing, boia cross tours, and swimming in natural pools. The park also features opportunities for horseback riding, stand-up paddleboarding, zip-lining, and canopy walks.
Our guide, Marina, was excellent. Lunch was truly delicious and there were great options for everyone: I am gluten-free and vegetarian and I loved the lunch. My meat-loving son also loved lunch. The ropes course was great fun and we enjoyed hanging out there as well. If I went again, I would also do the other activities.

The tubing was really fun and our guides jose and gabriel were great! Photos are expensive at an extra 80BRL for the package. They have alot of free activities like paddleboarding & canoeing but the laguna where you can do this (and swim) isn't very big or nice. There are other parks to visit which are nicer for a day visit including the municipal balneiro.

Beautiful day at a very special place !! Parque Ecológico Rio Formoso is a very special place for our family that we visit each time we come to Bonito. The staff are very welcoming and as soon as we exited the car they were there to greet us and explain the necessary instructions. The Boia Cross tour is a great, we experienced the beauty and peace of the Rio Formoso while also enjoying the rapids at various points. The guides for the boia cross are always a lot of fun and make the tour fun and pleasurable.... The horse riding tour is also very memorable riding through the nature of the farm and forest for 2 hours and stopping half way for a swim in the Rio formoso close to some pleasant rapids... An added bonus is after the tours you can relax and swim as long as you want besides the large lagoon where they have stand up paddle, paddle boats and a flying fox which is really cool and relaxing and fun for everyone....

Hands down one of the best activities in Bonito! Absolutely beautiful park, the guides are so so nice and funny and make the Boia Cross activity soo much fun. One of our best days out in the two weeks in Brazil. The staff were hilarious and so kind - they made sure we had a great time and kept us laughing throughout. The park itself is beautiful and you would be mad not to go here if you travel here. I cannot recommend this place enough ... Go and have fun!

We had a fun Boai Cross with Pablo and Markus. The place is beautiful and the stuff very friendly. We had Pablo as english speaking guide and that was great. His english is good and we had no problems in communication. The ride is not like river rafting but a fun and happy experience. We are glad doing this here. After the river we enjoyed staying at the lake.
Sel M — Google review
I did the boio cross and although it wasn't the non-stop thrill that rafting often is, it was still a lot of fun. The guides were fabulous. They didn't speak English but did a great job of making sure I knew all the safety rules (I also suspect there are English speaking guides if requested), and they were great at making it a fun and memorable experience. When not toppling down one of five waterfalls you can appreciate the tranquility of the beautiful Formosa River - looking at the trees rather than looking under the water like most other tours in this area. And if you're there early or want to stay later, you can enjoy the park itself - swimming in the clear watered lake, using the tirolesa (flying fox/ hand supported zip line), paddleboards or kayaks. This park really is hours of fun. Oh - and they sell Black Lemon icecream - yum!!

Sucuri River Bonito Ecotourism offers a unique experience in the Brazilian hinterland. The area was once remote farmland, but locals recognized its exceptional natural beauty and developed ecotourism to preserve it. The Sucuri River is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and has been featured in TV shows. Visitors can enjoy snorkeling, biking, and horseback riding while taking in the pristine surroundings.
We had an amazing time on the Sucuri River Eco Tour! The water was crystal clear, and we were able to see all sorts of fish and plants up close. Our guide Asa was unbelievable - he was so knowledgeable and friendly, and he made sure we had a great time. He was also very good at pointing out the different plants and trees that we passed. He told us all about the different properties of the plants and how they are used by the local people. We started the tour with a short hike through the rainforest to the source of the river. After that we floated down the river for about forty minutes. The water was a bit chilly at first, but we quickly warmed up. We saw all sorts of colorful fish. Overall, we had a fantastic time on the Sucuri River Eco Tour. It was a great way to experience the beauty of the Bonito region and learn about its unique ecosystem. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bonito.

Rio Sucuri snorkeling experience is truly a must-do when in Bonito. We were not disappointed: the 30-40 minutes of floating down the crystal clear freshwater stream while observing wonderful green algues and fish of all sizes (very curious!) is among the best we had throughout our travels! We are only taking off one star due to the human factor: this is a very expensive tour (1350 BRL, EUR 212 for 2 persons) for a half-day experience where lunch is not included and most of the time you are waiting either to be taken in charge, or to be picked up by the agency’s shared taxi.. again, the experience in itself lasts about 30-40 minutes only.
Amaya M — Google review
The snorkle flotation down this river is beautiful. You are equipped with wet suits for the cold water. The first 10 minutes of the river has immense beauty however this bleeds of very quickly and the remaining 40 minutes or so is very ordinary like any other river bed. It was still worth the visit though it was slightly on the pricy side.

Sucuri River — where water becomes soul.** 🌊✨ It has been nearly a quarter of a century — a time equal to a human generation — since I first encountered this privileged place. Back then, I did not yet have the inner maturity to grasp its purity, its serene power. But today, I understand. 🕊️ The Sucuri River is not just water. It is emotion, flowing freely. Its clarity mirrors inner awareness. To drift within it is to surrender completely to one's feelings — a state of wholeness, as Jung might say. 💧🌀 The river’s source felt like the birth of my soul — untouched, radiant, childlike in its golden innocence. 🌟🧒 And the Sucuri itself, once a symbol of my fear and anger, I now see as the shadow we must embrace to be complete. 🌒🪷 This river carried me, even when I didn’t know how to swim within myself. Now I understand: inner clarity is freedom, and emotion is the vessel of becoming. 🛶💫 **And why do I find this place so beautiful, so magnetic?** Because it mirrors what I carry inside. 🪞🌿 Long ago, I only saw this in the outside world, unaware that it was within me all along. Today, I know: my longing for purity, beauty, clarity, and connection is reflected in this river — just as it flows gently through the landscape, I wish to flow through life. 🌅🌱 That is the mirror. In it, I see my deepest longing. 💖

Badly organised. Staff was very uncaring I didn't get to eat because I booked a dive after the flotation, and was left without ANY food! There was NOTHING left by the time I got there. I couldn't eat all day, wasn't even given a snack. Flotation and dive were great, but wasn't given a hygienic cover to wear underneath helmet for quad tour. Also, many people walked on the river floor even though they were explicitly told not to do so, staff didn't bat an eye lid though. Make sure in advance they give you all you paid for. Don't just take the word from tour operator

Gruta Catedral, also known as Gruta Sao Mateus, is a captivating cave in Bonito, Brazil. It features stunning rock formations and crystal-clear waters. The cave is home to the Kadiweu Museum, which showcases historical items and a collection of 1970s automobiles. Visitors are drawn to the expertise of the guides who provide insightful tours of the cave, adding an educational element to the experience.
This cave system is reached via a forest path, guided in a timed group which you must reserve beforehand at a tour agency in Bonito. It is well worth it as the cave is fascinating albeit smaller than a cathedral. Our guide was very well informed. There is also a small museum with old fashioned trucks, typewriters, calculators and many other unrelated objects and a little information about the origins of the Fazenda Rincão Bonito, which gave its name to the town.

The Saint Matthew Grotto was very enjoyable and family friendly. While you wait for the tour to start there's a museum boasting articles used by the locals throughout the decades as well stuffed animals donated by the local authorities. The Grotto itself goes at about 50 meters deep into the ground and the guide will give you a vast amount of information about the cave as well as the local nature elements.

Half of the fun was due to Galvão, the tour guide, who has educated his followers about different aspects of the cave, including the wish room, ;).

The tour guides are great! The cave is nice but not overwhelming. The museum is a joke. Old stuff from everywhere without any explanation.

This was a last minute decision to visit and we were so pleased to go! What a fascinating cave with so many different formations. It is a privilege to be able to get so close, in some areas even touch such old formations built over millions of years. It is well planned and cared for with informative guides ( unsure if they have any English speaking ones). To be in and a walk around an area formed during the Pangea time literally the bottom of an ocean! We were in awe and thought it to be more informative and just as if not more Interisting than the Gruta do Lago Azul. If you need to stay dry for a few hours and in our case it was super cold in town this is an excellent choice to pass time.

Great experience. Though the actual cave length is alot shorter than I expected. It is pretty magical inside the cave. Bring a light jacket as the cave temp is cooler than outside. Jacket will also help protect from some of the mosquitos inside.

Small caves with some pretty formations. The more interesting parts are in the rock surfaces - strange and beautiful patterns - grey circles, vertical striations and a couple of colour changes because of the iron on the soil. The guide knows basic information about cave formations but didn't not appear to know much about the more interesting things. Seeing my interest though, the guide have me a flash light so I could look at the rocks more closely which was thoughtful of him. I'm not sure if there is an English speaking guide available.

DON’T GO unless you speak Portuguese After listening to a 30min speech with a few pictures you are excited to come to the highlight: taking pictures with 2 snakes around your neck. First comes first serve so you get a clearly visible number at the entrance. So far so good so simple, but when it was my turn (my Portuguese is good enough to understand the numbers) the lady called my number and within less than a second the next number leading to some discussion. Shit happens, all good. But after the other lady responsible for handing over the big yellow snake also COMPLETELY ignored me and walked out of the room without giving me the chance to take a picture with Mrs.Boa I got angry and did not feel welcome. I paid 50Rs extra for these pictures. She couldn’t have missed this as she was sitting next to the cashier and she couldn’t have missed the fact that I am not a native speaker. Again: not recommended unless you speak Portuguese as it is too expensive for what you get.
Carsten — Google review
I liked it, very informative and even a little funny. Henrique is very passionate about the topic and knows a lot about them. His mission is to teach as many people as possible about serpents. The only thing I have to say is: don't go if you don't understand Portuguese. As the owner speaks fluent English, it would be very helpful if he'd also have the translation, even if on his television where he shows a few clips. He speaks very fast Portuguese and if you're not very fluent you'll miss a lot. My daughter was raised overseas, but understands Portuguese, during the show she was bored because it didn't capture her attention.

Our experience here reflects the fundamental change to the Bonito experience during the past 20 years. In 1994, on my first visit to the town of Bonito, in all the attractions, including cave visits, we had to sign off a waiver of responsibility to the business owners and then enjoyed the attraction however we could. It was cheap, but if you had an accident, well, tough luck - you signed a waiver after all. Nowadays we certainly pay much more, but fill out an insurance form and the visit is closely supervised in the safest way possible. Unfortunately, today we found that out in the worst way possible. My wife slipped on the stairway down to the entrance of the cave and broke her wrist. The staff was quick and professional to perform rescue, first aid and accompany us to the hospital. They even paid for the meds and arranged an appointment with a traumatologist on the same day. So, please, watch your steps. But do know that should something bad happen, the business will assist you to the end.

Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
Gruta do Lago Azul Natural Monument is a must-see destination in Bonito, known for its breathtaking cavernous space adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. The highlight of the monument is the transparent lake with vibrant blue water at the bottom of the cavern. Visitors can explore various natural attractions such as rivers, lakes, crystal clear pools, and diverse marine life. The area also offers opportunities to observe birds and wild animals while hiking trails that lead to stunning waterfalls.
A deep grotto with the blue lake at the bottom. The visit must be in a timed group, reserved beforehand via a tour agency in Bonito. The guide was very good including caring for our safety with appropriate protocols and briefing. On a cloudy or rainy day, the blue colour of the water is very muted. However, you can get bluer colours in photos using night mode.

Gruta do Lago Azul - Beautiful, Safe, and Worth Experiencing. Gruta do Lago Azul is a stunning natural site, the deep blue water and dramatic cave formations are definitely worth seeing. While it wasn’t the highlight of my trip to Bonito, I’m really glad I got to experience it.The tour is quite structured and short, with allot of stairs involved, so it may feel a bit underwhelming if you’re looking for something more adventurous. That said, the guides were fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everything was safe and well-organized. It’s a unique and peaceful spot, and definitely a worthwhile stop if you’re exploring the area. Book ahead from my experience.

We traveled from the other side of the world Australia. Such an amazing experience. We enjoyed the experience. It's a few hundred metres from the carpark, an easy guided walk, then the guides take you down slowly 300 steps. Dress light, good walking shoes and bug repellent (we brought repellent at the gift shop). No need for a hat as you wear the helmet. Guides are amazing. The gift shop also has plenty of icecream, drinks and water. Great experience. Book directly with venue and secure your pass. I have attached the best driver too who picked us up from hotel. Its a 25 minute drive but half is off road.

Really beautiful and it didn’t take too long, my 76 year old father could handle the slow paced steps 👍🏼 Some of the other similar caves are not “wet” at the bottom like this one 😉

It is quite beautiful but if you have been in a cave before it is not so special. You walk down, get some info and up again. 30 min and you are ready. The price was not in balance with the experience for me
Martijn P — Google review
While the cave is a nice place to see, the provider at the location is not delivering much value to it. It feels like they are simply herding as much visitors as reasonably possible in and out. As a foreign visitor you need to be lucky to get any comprehensible input as signs are only in local language and guides might or might not speak any language other than Portuguese. Most of them seem to do not, and so you might end up with not understanding anything. Overally other activities in the region are more worthwhile, and much better in accomodating international visitors' needs for information provision in multiple languages. So I recommend, go elsewhere and spend your money there, especially if you don't speak Portuguese.

The place is very beautiful. It is a huge stalactite cave with unusually blue water. The tour is not accessible and is not in English, the guide completely ignored our presence and was not very nice. The attraction is boring. Go down the stairs to see the beauty and go back up. Not sure it is worth the price.

The cave itself is nice and impressive, but the surrounding organisation to us appeared not very accommodating for foreign visitors. We do not speak Portuguese and were told at check-in that the guide would speak at least some English, which was not the case. They seemed to not bother that we didn't understand and there was no effort to, for example, switch us to the next tour 20 minutes later which apparently was run by a guide who spoke some English and had other international visitors (which we found out after the tour). So, the 'safety briefing' at the beginning and information during the tour were only provided in Portuguese. At other attractions around Bonito we found at least some signs in English, which helped us to understand a bit more. So honestly, it was a bit dissappointing for us to pay the not cheap price for the tour and transport for an experience where we could not understand anything. Nevertheless the natural beauty of the cave is memorable.

(Translated by Google) What a wonderful meal! I ordered the grilled tilapia dish, and it was wonderfully seasoned. The portion was very generous, with cooked vegetables and a green salad. A+! I paid R$42.00, a fair price for the seasoning. My boyfriend ordered the Dore pacu ribs, which were also very good, well-served, and bone-free. It's definitely worth it!

I came with a couple of friends that I met at my hostel. It was incredible! The food was delicious, service was lovely, and the environment was gorgeous. If I had more time in Bonito, I would come back. As an American, you definitely get your money's worth!

Unforgettable experience. The food is both original and delicious. All ingredients are organic and locally sourced. The preparation is very creative and the combination of flavors is superb. One of the best meals I have had in my life. Wow! Congratulations to chef Sylvio Trujillo!

Amazing restaurant, very kind staff. Especially Luan took care of us very good. Loved the food. We came here twice on our Bonito visit. Would 100% recommend going here

We tried one of their house specialty, Piraputanga Corumbaense, it is good for a freshwater fish, but still our taste goes better with seawater fishes! The place is really nice and there are other options that draw attention on the menu!

Awesome place! staff are super friendly and kind, and the food is delicious, traditional local dishes with a creative twist from the chef. There is also a lovely little backyard where you can enjoy dinner outdoors. Highly recommended (Ps: we tried Cupim de Colher, a slowly cooked beef hump so tender that you can eat with a spoon)
R K — Google review
Everything was great! Very nice food, the place decoration is very native and with beautiful details! The only improvement could be the desert list needs to be available on printout version instead of just having the waiter voices out the options of the day.
Camila Y — Google review
We really loved this restaurant! We were served by Luan, a very friendly guy. We tried most restaurants in Bonito but this is definitely our favourite.
