Gruta do Lago Azul Natural Monument is a must-see destination in Bonito, known for its breathtaking cavernous space adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. The highlight of the monument is the transparent lake with vibrant blue water at the bottom of the cavern. Visitors can explore various natural attractions such as rivers, lakes, crystal clear pools, and diverse marine life. The area also offers opportunities to observe birds and wild animals while hiking trails that lead to stunning waterfalls.
A deep grotto with the blue lake at the bottom. The visit must be in a timed group, reserved beforehand via a tour agency in Bonito. The guide was very good including caring for our safety with appropriate protocols and briefing. On a cloudy or rainy day, the blue colour of the water is very muted. However, you can get bluer colours in photos using night mode.

Gruta do Lago Azul - Beautiful, Safe, and Worth Experiencing. Gruta do Lago Azul is a stunning natural site, the deep blue water and dramatic cave formations are definitely worth seeing. While it wasn’t the highlight of my trip to Bonito, I’m really glad I got to experience it.The tour is quite structured and short, with allot of stairs involved, so it may feel a bit underwhelming if you’re looking for something more adventurous. That said, the guides were fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everything was safe and well-organized. It’s a unique and peaceful spot, and definitely a worthwhile stop if you’re exploring the area. Book ahead from my experience.

We traveled from the other side of the world Australia. Such an amazing experience. We enjoyed the experience. It's a few hundred metres from the carpark, an easy guided walk, then the guides take you down slowly 300 steps. Dress light, good walking shoes and bug repellent (we brought repellent at the gift shop). No need for a hat as you wear the helmet. Guides are amazing. The gift shop also has plenty of icecream, drinks and water. Great experience. Book directly with venue and secure your pass. I have attached the best driver too who picked us up from hotel. Its a 25 minute drive but half is off road.
Graham M — Google review
Really beautiful and it didn’t take too long, my 76 year old father could handle the slow paced steps 👍🏼 Some of the other similar caves are not “wet” at the bottom like this one 😉
Ben H — Google review
It is quite beautiful but if you have been in a cave before it is not so special. You walk down, get some info and up again. 30 min and you are ready. The price was not in balance with the experience for me
Martijn P — Google review
While the cave is a nice place to see, the provider at the location is not delivering much value to it. It feels like they are simply herding as much visitors as reasonably possible in and out. As a foreign visitor you need to be lucky to get any comprehensible input as signs are only in local language and guides might or might not speak any language other than Portuguese. Most of them seem to do not, and so you might end up with not understanding anything. Overally other activities in the region are more worthwhile, and much better in accomodating international visitors' needs for information provision in multiple languages. So I recommend, go elsewhere and spend your money there, especially if you don't speak Portuguese.
J K — Google review
The place is very beautiful. It is a huge stalactite cave with unusually blue water. The tour is not accessible and is not in English, the guide completely ignored our presence and was not very nice. The attraction is boring. Go down the stairs to see the beauty and go back up. Not sure it is worth the price.
עוז מ — Google review
The cave itself is nice and impressive, but the surrounding organisation to us appeared not very accommodating for foreign visitors. We do not speak Portuguese and were told at check-in that the guide would speak at least some English, which was not the case. They seemed to not bother that we didn't understand and there was no effort to, for example, switch us to the next tour 20 minutes later which apparently was run by a guide who spoke some English and had other international visitors (which we found out after the tour). So, the 'safety briefing' at the beginning and information during the tour were only provided in Portuguese. At other attractions around Bonito we found at least some signs in English, which helped us to understand a bit more. So honestly, it was a bit dissappointing for us to pay the not cheap price for the tour and transport for an experience where we could not understand anything. Nevertheless the natural beauty of the cave is memorable.

Abismo Anhumas is a remarkable underground lake that attracts divers with its stunning rock formations and crystal-clear waters. It offers a unique experience for adventure enthusiasts, providing opportunities for abseiling and diving in the vast cavern adorned with stalactites. The site also boasts an ochre-colored depression called Buraco das Araras, where flocks of macaws nest.
Most spectacular place to dive; fear-inspiring rappelling down 72 into a cave system seen by very few eyes! Sleek operation; care taken to offer training in rappelling the day before - Abysmo Anhumas was one of the highlights of my life!
Carin C — Google review
I really don't understand the hype. I am not a geologist or an expert of any kind in these things. So maybe, just maybe, I don't get how special it his. It is definitely a nice cave and it's well organized how you get down with the lift and they take could care of safety. Inside its interesting. But the amount of money they charge is in no relation. That's just insane. No matter if you dive or not, that's too much. The mimoso cave has a way better price value ratio. Specifically if you wanna scuba dive. Do think twice, if you want to invest this money.
Valentin P — Google review
Cool place, fun ride down with the electric cable chair, cool dive, lots of formations underwater, then a boat ride around the lake to hear a bit more about the place. Only downside is the high price.

(Translated by Google) I went in August, and it was very cold that day, but regardless, I didn't find it pleasant. A dark, flooded hole—for me, that's the most realistic description of the place. The photos turned out really well even with night mode on my phone. In person, it's just a dark, flooded cave. It helped me never pay to enter a cold, flooded, dark cave again.

Hiking area
Estância Mimosa Ecotourism in Bonito, MS is a nature lover's paradise offering a range of activities such as hiking trails, horseback riding, and the chance to swim in natural pools and under waterfalls. As part of the Rio da Prata Group, it has won awards for its sustainability efforts and is dedicated to preserving the environment. Visitors can explore the gallery forest of Mimoso River, encountering eight different waterfalls along the way.
A lot to see, not to hard trail and a lot of nice places to swim.
Tobias S — Google review
Very nice trip even for kids. Water is cold but you get used to it. Includes a little boat trip. Good meal and good guide. Bring water shoes otherwise you can rent them there.
Markus K — Google review
I recently took a tour of the waterfalls, and while the natural beauty is absolutely breathtaking, I found the overall experience somewhat disappointing. It seems a private company has taken over the entire area, dictating what you can and cannot do, which really detracted from the experience. Everything is very organised, but this comes at the cost of freedom. You have no flexibility with your time or the places you visit, as you're required to follow the guide everywhere. Honestly, the trail is so easy to navigate that the guide feels unnecessary. If you're looking for a place to spend your time freely, I wouldn't recommend this tour. It seems more suited for families who appreciate a structured environment. For those seeking a more independent adventure, there are surely better options out there.

Nice place, clean, friendly and fun for adults and children. Only Portuguese language. English is close to not available anywhere. Good to have a native Brazilian with you 🤔😉

Fantastic day at EcoPark Our bote and duck guides Edimar and Paulo Ricardo were fantastic Great food and service in the restaurant, beautiful river and well equipped facilities We will come back !!!

A beautiful natural plsce that has some amazing activities with friendly fun staff that making it even more special. Quite amazing what this place has done with natural resources and a minimalist approach by not destroying the area. There is probly level 2 rapid falls for canoes/kayak a tubing area for a laugh and also a great area for SUP (stand up paddle board) you need to book in the main town of Bonito and make sure you have reliable transportation to get to and from there as its quite a distance away Enjoy!!!
MD B — Google review
Had a fun time, and did the activity of the boat trip. Do want to mention one odd event that disappointed me in the venue. We were with only a few foreigner (non-portuguese speaking) people in a boat together with a person from Asia. I noticed multiple employees as well as some of the other portuguese attendees calling, shouting and making fun of the attendee from Asia calling him all sorts of Asian words they knew in portuguese. Felt like bullying which was very unnecessary and left a scar on the day.

We had an amazing time today at the Porto da Ilha. Because we only speak English we had Gian who learned us everything about the park. He helped us translate the explanation of the activities and we could go to him if we had questions. We had a combo trip with the Stand up paddle, Boia cross and the Bote and it was amazing. Ordered some great food at the restaurant. I would really recommend to go on this trip. Thanks again Gian (and the rest of the staff)!

Ecological park
Buraco das Araras Private Natural Heritage Reserve is a must-visit in Bonito, offering various activities such as macaw-spotting, river tubing, zip lining, horseback riding, and waterfall hikes. The reserve is home to diverse wildlife and features the largest sinkhole in South America with a diameter of 160 meters and a depth of 100 meters. Visitors can enjoy an easy trail leading to the edge of the impressive hole in the ground.
Very cool and special place. Like with all attractions around Bonito, you have to buy your tickets in advance at a tour agency in the city. You will then do a walk around the whole, two platforms to look out from. Around 120 parrots are living here, making a lot of noise and super cool to just watch at. They fly a lot around. The guide spoke English very well and shared great knowledge.
Valentin P — Google review
Very nice to see how they restored the nature in this area and repopulated it again with the fantastic aras that’s just beautiful to watch

What the film Rio is apparently based on. Best visited early morning or late afternoon as that's where most of the birds are around. Prebooking is essential.

Nice and small park, perfect for a half day. A bit of walking through the jungle and you arrive at a clearing in front of a huge craterlike natural structure . It is here that the red Araras or parrots nest. Nice to see and specially hear the birds!
Andrea M — Google review
Very cool. Lots of the scarlet macaws. I would recomend binoculars or a very good camera with a super zoom. The hole is 32 stories deep and there are large gators and anacondas at the bottom to see too.
James B — Google review
Insane beautiful! You can see large species of birds...like Tucano and Red Araras (Brazilian Parrots). Infrastructure very good!! Worth every penny!

Waterfall Boca da Onca is a must-visit destination for adventure seekers. It boasts a 156m-high cascade, perfect for swimming and hiking. The area also offers opportunities to witness the fluctuation in the Sucuri and Natural Aquarium rivers, as well as explore other nearby attractions like Parque das Cachoeiras, Serra da Bodoquena waterfalls, Lagoa Misteriosa, and Abismo Anhumas.
This is a must visit place in Bodaquena! The trail is just surreal; it feels like heaven. It's hard climb and descend at some places, but is worth it! The staff as in any other place in bonito are very well organized. The only place which serves you delicious food in the region ! I just wish that there was more water it would have increased the beauty of the places
Sumeeth P — Google review
It it supposed to be a beautiful waterfall, except that they don’t inform you at the time of the booking when it’s dry! Beware of this when considering the tour - it’s dry from around March to October, as the guide told us. We visited in August 2025.

beautiful place, excellent waterfalls and baths, good meals in the farm
Zbyněk — Google review
An amazingly unforgettable experience with the family. The guides are extremely attentive and informative, the mixture of trail walking and swimming in the natural pools are surreal. Highly recommend the 90m abseiling option, careful if you have a bad back though. There's a lot to see and do, so if you're an avid photographer you don't have long to contemplate your angles and exposures, so don't drag your heels. If you have a drone, best to opt for the VIP package as you're not allowed to use if you're in a larger group. Enjoy to the fullest.
Jason V — Google review
I guess pretty good in general, but we have been here during a very dry period and all waterfalls were completely dry. Still a pretty hike though.
Carmen T — Google review
The stars for this review are just for the guide, she was fantastic, the tour was the opposite. The area hadn't had rain for a fair while when I did the tour so instead of beautiful water features we got dry waterfalls and mostly stagnant pools. I'd done a waterfall tour at a Fazenda in the area the day before that was able to put on a terrific display despite the dry conditions. The administration and owners of Boca da onca know they are selling an inferior product and that is putting it most charitably, some might call it fraudulent advertising. They don't seem to have a plan b or alternate routes and sights to see during the dry months. My advice would be to do some research (like I should have done instead of believing everything I saw on the internet) and make sure they've had enough rain to get the falls going before booking tickets. The highlight of this dismal experience was our guide, she was fantastic and made the best of a bad situation. I would not do this tour again having been sold a lie.

The latter features a stunning sapphire and tourmaline lake 330 feet below the surface, making it one of the largest water-filled caves on Earth. The natural monument is protected under conservation statuses, offering limited tours daily.
So beautiful to visit. Love the tour, perhaps too many people at a time

Nice place, Natural limestone caves, billions of years old. good guide ready to amswer all your questions. but keep in mind you have to go down a lot of steps. Its nice
Sneha M — Google review
Our experience here reflects the fundamental change to the Bonito experience during the past 20 years. In 1994, on my first visit to the town of Bonito, in all the attractions, including cave visits, we had to sign off a waiver of responsibility to the business owners and then enjoyed the attraction however we could. It was cheap, but if you had an accident, well, tough luck - you signed a waiver after all. Nowadays we certainly pay much more, but fill out an insurance form and the visit is closely supervised in the safest way possible. Unfortunately, today we found that out in the worst way possible. My wife slipped on the stairway down to the entrance of the cave and broke her wrist. The staff was quick and professional to perform rescue, first aid and accompany us to the hospital. They even paid for the meds and arranged an appointment with a traumatologist on the same day. So, please, watch your steps. But do know that should something bad happen, the business will assist you to the end.

Natural Aquarium in Bonito is a renowned destination for ecotourism and snorkeling. The Baia Bonita river forms a stunning natural aquarium, offering visitors the chance to explore its clear waters teeming with diverse fish species. Located within the Baia Bonito Ecological Reserve, the tour begins with a scenic forest walk leading to the Baia Bonita Spring. Snorkeling downstream allows guests to marvel at the vibrant underwater flora, creating an immersive experience akin to being inside a real aquarium.
Great experience, even for me that I am afraid of the water! Loved Ruan is a good guide and good instructor!

Amazing activity for kids and adults! The small kids can stay in the boat which is super safe and you swim the sucuri river snorkeling and enjoying the crystal clear water. The experience is amazing and the zip line at the end was the star of the show. The main entrance has a large pool and restaurant. You can also go check the animals as part of the compound. It is really a full day activity and the kids can swim in the pool. The weather was not great when we went during June. So we recommend it during the summer time around Feb or March you might get better weather.
Yasmeen F — Google review
It's very close to the centre of Bonito. The prices of the tour cost around R$350 on most agencies. It was an amazing experience to swim with the fish in this beautiful river. The equipment is professional and comfortable. The guide gave us small training before going to the river. It's not mandatory to know how to swim.
Mayra C — Google review
This place has two pools, a restaurant, a little theater (that has 0 use). It's a nice place, but I went to places where that were cheaper and with nicer views. The water of the river is amazing, and you can see some kinds of fish, the service is also pretty good, and our guide was amazing, but there are better places, in better states for less money, and the package for the photos is very tricky, you pay certain amount for photos, but at the end of the day you could end up with 0 photos under the water because the photographer forgot to take photos of you, and they don't refund the money.
Araceli C — Google review
Really nice experience overall. Plus they have a really nice underwater camerman who takes beautiful pics that you can buy later. The hike part we really nice for kids - a chance to see caimans and ant eaters, etc However, in this area there are river segments that are so much kore beautiful for floatation/snorkeling.
Donatas S — Google review
I would say great facility and service! The actual experience of floating in crystal clear water of the river, snorkeling and the encounter with the fishes, superb! The trail is short and though the temperature was still very hot in April, the path is shaded by trees. Plus, the water in the river was refreshing after the walk. Do not forget to bring repellant (opt for the environment friendly ones). Like ALL the official tours/destinations in Bonito, you have to book this one with an agency. Agencies have more or less the same pricing. For those who do cost-saving/low-cost traveling, there is no bargaining here (that I knew of, read and asked around). The prices they said are well regulated, good side is that I felt safer and wouldn't be ripped out as a tourist (experienced in some places). I have to be back in Bonito.
Erna A — Google review
Arrived at 3:30pm the worker said it’s closed. On google says closes at 6pm. As well it’s needed to make booking with the agency in the city centre prior. I would kindly suggest the manager of this place to write accurate opening closing timing on google as well to mention that booking with the agency is mandatory so people don’t waste their time. Two stars for misleading.

We enjoyed the river snorkelling and return walk. Tends to be more rainforest type species of trees and wildlife. Suggest organising your own transport such as taxi. The bus service is expensive and inflexible. You'll arrive at 8, depart at 1700 which is too long in one location. It's about 7km out of town. Two in taxi 8s likely cheaper, more flexible. Also, no sunscreen or mosquito repellent to protect the water quality and fish life, which is important. The return walk, expect mosquitoes. Be mindful to take something once you are no longer getting into the river systems.

(Translated by Google) The trip along the Rio do Peixe was undoubtedly the most "relaxed" I experienced in Bonito. It's a very pleasant trail, with several stops for a refreshing dip. Upon arrival, as usual, we received instructions about the activity. Anyone who wanted could borrow a life jacket. The trail began with breathtaking views, and the farm dog decided to be our canine guide, accompanying us the entire way. We passed several bridges that, Indiana Jones-style, swayed a lot. I confess I was a little nervous on some of them. During the swim stops, fun was guaranteed: waterfalls, zip lines, diving boards, and even a daring jump into a hole for the more fearless. To end the day of adventure, we returned to the headquarters, where a delicious lunch awaited us. And, as a lively bonus, we also got to see several monkeys getting up to their tricks.

They don't provide wetsuits, which are great for children in winter. We got there and saw blue macaws. It was unbelievable. We thought they weren't real, but the guides confirmed it. Our guide was amazing. He even lent me a pair of shorts that I had forgotten at the Bonsay Hotel. He jumped into a rainbow waterfall to encourage people who were scared. The entire trail is very clean and wide. There is a slightly long walk, but it's not difficult. The food is amazing. There are lots of salads and dishes. It's already included in the tour. At least the voucher we got already included lunch. It was divine. At the end, the owner even calls the macaws to pose and take pictures. It's surreal. Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata in Bonito, MS is an ecotourism destination that offers a variety of activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, horseback riding, and birdwatching. The tour begins with a pleasant walk through the riparian of Prata River and an interpretive trail where visitors can observe various trees, orchids, bromeliads, mammals, and different species of birds.
Best experience we did so far in Brazil. Half day activity swimming/floating with some small hikes and afterwards lunch. You will see a lot of fishes. Very safe and well organised. Fantastic location/river. They do pics along the trip (paid extra). You get all necessary equipment but can also bring along your own mask/snorkel/watershoes. I recommend to put dry clothes in one of the bags and give to your guide at the start so you are not wet on the short bus trip back. I hope the nature can be sustained as long as possible. Of course you need to book in advance with some of the agencies as everywhere in and around bonito

We loved our day here. The lunch was unbelievable - and I’m a vegetarian. The snorkelling tour was out of this world with crystal clear waters, millions of fish and expertly guided by Fabian (we think - sorry!) who was able to speak to us in great English as we embarrassingly have no Portuguese. The ranch itself was an amazing place to relax with tonnes of wildlife (toucans everywhere!) We would highly recommend this tour to anyone - thank you 😁

What a wonderful experience at this ecological preserve! The natural springs provide crystal clear water for this snorkeling experience. It was so nice to relax and watch fish that previously we had only seen in fish stores in the United States! Immersed in such beautiful surroundings while snorkeling with Nadia, our group guide, was magical. Nadia speaks English well and is a biologist. The river experience was followed by an amazing lunch!!

What an amazing experience. The staff are absolutely amazing, even for this gringo! The quality of the establishment, the equipment was fantastic. Thats all before you start your experience. The river snorkelling is an experience you do not want to miss. You do not need to be a great swimmer, you wear safety float vest and the river moves you. The nature walking (approximately 3 breaks walking in 400m total. So not difficult). Bring your waterproof cameras/mobile phones. No gear required all supplied. And the lunch afterwards was amazing. The day is relaxing, with hammock's to rest afterwards too. Highly recommend, not an experience I have found all over the world.. Graham from Australia

The best place to visit in Bonito - MS. Really, is a beautiful place, with nature and loads of activities and attractions combined. Incredible food and drinks. Only the prices that are way too expensive but same in the whole city.

Had an awesome experience here and would highly recommend it for English speakers. The staff went out of their way to explain things to me in English the best they could which made the snorkeling tour easy to enjoy despite going solo and with my minimum understanding of Portuguese. Also, the food was incredible and so far the most vegan options I've found in Brazil! Even in winter the water was more than warm enough to swim without a wetsuit if you're used to English water.

We wanted to do all floating experiences, so we did Cave, river and Spring. Spring being the case here, it was different from the others, the water is a little "foggier" but there are a LOT more fish to see and swim with. if you are polite and careful, can be great, it is one of the most delicate environments we saw there, still I recommend.

The park itself is nice if you go with children or adolescents, they will enjoy it very much. But the main reason why I went there was to snorkel in the Nascente Azul, and even though the activity was supposed to last 2 hours and 30 minutes, the guide showed up 15 minutes late and left us 30 before the end, so in total it lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes. But the worst of all is that we only spend 20 minutes in the water snorkeling; the place itself is amazingly beautiful, but the guide was rushing us all the time and didn't let us enjoy the activity. They spend more time taking photographs and videos of you (which they try to sell to you later, of course, at a high price) than snorkeling. So, even though the place is stunning (and that's why I give 2 stars and not 1), I wouldn't recommend coming here if your main motivation is snorkeling. I would go to Rio da Prata instead.

The place is a wonderful way to see the beautiful Macaw or “Arara” in portugues. I highly recommend English speakers to learn to say Arara. Its original name in Brazil. You have the opportunity to witness many of these large colorful birds flying together and making their prehistoric sounds, which is music to a bird lovers ears. Gruta Catedral, also known as Gruta Sao Mateus, is a captivating cave in Bonito, Brazil. It features stunning rock formations and crystal-clear waters. The cave is home to the Kadiweu Museum, which showcases historical items and a collection of 1970s automobiles. Visitors are drawn to the expertise of the guides who provide insightful tours of the cave, adding an educational element to the experience.
This cave system is reached via a forest path, guided in a timed group which you must reserve beforehand at a tour agency in Bonito. It is well worth it as the cave is fascinating albeit smaller than a cathedral. Our guide was very well informed. There is also a small museum with old fashioned trucks, typewriters, calculators and many other unrelated objects and a little information about the origins of the Fazenda Rincão Bonito, which gave its name to the town.
Alistair C — Google review
The Saint Matthew Grotto was very enjoyable and family friendly. While you wait for the tour to start there's a museum boasting articles used by the locals throughout the decades as well stuffed animals donated by the local authorities. The Grotto itself goes at about 50 meters deep into the ground and the guide will give you a vast amount of information about the cave as well as the local nature elements.

Half of the fun was due to Galvão, the tour guide, who has educated his followers about different aspects of the cave, including the wish room, ;).

The tour guides are great! The cave is nice but not overwhelming. The museum is a joke. Old stuff from everywhere without any explanation.

This was a last minute decision to visit and we were so pleased to go! What a fascinating cave with so many different formations. It is a privilege to be able to get so close, in some areas even touch such old formations built over millions of years. It is well planned and cared for with informative guides ( unsure if they have any English speaking ones). To be in and a walk around an area formed during the Pangea time literally the bottom of an ocean! We were in awe and thought it to be more informative and just as if not more Interisting than the Gruta do Lago Azul. If you need to stay dry for a few hours and in our case it was super cold in town this is an excellent choice to pass time.

Small caves with some pretty formations. The more interesting parts are in the rock surfaces - strange and beautiful patterns - grey circles, vertical striations and a couple of colour changes because of the iron on the soil. The guide knows basic information about cave formations but didn't not appear to know much about the more interesting things. Seeing my interest though, the guide have me a flash light so I could look at the rocks more closely which was thoughtful of him. I'm not sure if there is an English speaking guide available.

Gruta do Mimoso is an exceptional place that captivates visitors with its breathtaking underwater world. Despite its unassuming entrance, descending the stairs reveals a magnificent maritime universe waiting to be explored through diving and snorkeling. The cave offers a unique experience as sunlight filters in, illuminating the rock formations and creating a mesmerizing sight. With attentive guides and rich historical insights, this destination is perfect for both adventure seekers and geology enthusiasts alike.
We had the luck of being there during the roughly 30 minutes that sunlight shines directly inside the cave, and the result of that is breathtaking. The snorkeling area is not too big, you can see everything within a few minutes, so take your time, relax and enjoy the experience.

If you are not diving it's not worth it. I don't understand why you need a helmet if all stalagmites are cut off (you can hardly hit anything with your head). It's too expensive for what you experience (240 reales). Most of the trip is walking and taking selfies. You can't dive without the vest. What you see on the photo is all there is.
Szczepan B — Google review
I booked the diving activity, that is sold as a "2 hours activity". In reality it was an hour in total and less than 30min in the water... I was expecting more for this price. While in the cave, I had the feeling that I couldn't take the time to admire this beautiful space... very frustrating. In addition, the monitor is supposed to take pictures of us. He took 3 poor pictures at the entrance but absolutely not at the beautiful spots of the cave...

The facilities were excellent and it was very well organised. We felt like the guide wasn't too interested in the cave and we didn't get much info about it, how it was formed, etc. there wasn't much to the cave if just doing the floating, it was cool but you only need 5 mins to see it all. I would look into others in the area or save floating for the rivers. Can't comment on the diving as we didn't do it, but you go further in so may have been a more worthwhile experience here.

The floating in this cave is nice and different from floating in a river. Nice to have some variation. Guide spoke a minimal amount of English, would have been nice to have some more information on the cave as well, which was only in Portuguese.

Bio Park is a unique wildlife sanctuary that provides a safe haven for animals rescued from various situations such as abuse, wildfires, accidents, and illegal animal trade. The park was established three years ago with the noble intention of addressing the scarcity of animal shelters nationwide. It currently houses over 20 species of local wildlife. In addition to its conservation efforts, Bio Park offers an interactive experience for visitors by featuring a farm with miniature animals for children to engage with.
Beautiful place, take good care of lost or abounded animals. A lot of different animals. Very nice with children. We had a very nice guide. He told us many fun facts.

Not so sure how much is this place worth a visit since it is relatively very simple compared to other activities you can do in the area or bonito. If you have kids it might be nice to go. But the animals are not super special, it is more of a project that help animals with problems they help them recover but keep them there. If you have been to buy zoos you would enjoy it much. The staff are super duper nice and friendly.

Very nice and friendly staff. Around 9 people working for a project to rescue and take care of abandoned or injured animals. It's not a big area but you can see some of the typical animals around. It is worth to visit and also voluntarily do a small donation

Lovely small shelter for wild animals that cannot live in the wild - good cause and great opportunity to see ant eaters, toucans and other local animals in close. Kids loved it ✨ And best of all - you can get your tour in english! Thanks Jade, you were awesome 🫡❤️
Donatas S — Google review
We have visited the park with two kids and it has been great. The guide (Jade) could speak fluent English and she supplied a lot of interesting information about each animal, its history, anatomy and diet. She has been extremely friendly and competent. The whole place is very nicely arranged and they help animals with difficult experiences including trafficking, that would otherwise not be able to survive alone in the wild. I strongly suggest a visit to the park

The trail to the waterfalls is quite easy, about 2.5 km long, but we stopped at each new stretch to swim or contemplate, so the trail didn't get strenuous. After the tour, already included in the ticket, a regional lunch is served at the Sabores da Serra restaurant. Delicious, home-cooked, wood-fired food! Drinks are served separately, but at fair prices. Everyone is friendly and helpful, especially the guide, Odir, who explained every detail of the region's flora and fauna. A must-see! Após o passeio, já incluso no ingresso, é servido um almoço regional no restaurante Sabores da Serra. Comida caseira, feita na lenha, uma delícia! Bebidas à parte, porém, com valores justos. We visited in August 2025. Positives: - good guide - good food Negatives: - no one tells you in advance that Boca da Onça waterfall is dried out (other waterfalls also affected!) during the dry season (March to October) - there are construction works on the territory of the estate: as a consequence, no swimming pools (the one that was “open” for swimming was filthy dirty with dark water) - drones only allowed at the reception/estate level (who cares?..) but not over the waterfalls - we paid 1000 BRL (almost EUR 160), impossible go book directly, only through local tour operators, for 2 persons for this.. not worth it

I think this is a place with great potential for growth. The service is good, and it's a great place for a day of relaxation or activities, such as snorkeling, jumping, swimming, kayaking, or even water biking. The place is actually pretty, with some waterfalls and the water of the Formos River flowing through several places. But that is practically all. There is even a zip line, which only goes a few meters. The trampoline is also an attraction that is not very attractive. If you are going with your family to spend the day and have a picnic or a barbecue, it might be worth it, but I still have my doubts since you have to pay 100.00 per person just to get in, which would make this barbecue quite expensive.

Balneário Ilha Bonita is a fantastic destination located not far from Bonito. The area is incredibly beautiful and offers plenty of shaded areas for visitors to relax and unwind. Many wish they had more time to enjoy the final stop of the boat circuit at Ilha do Padre, making it a highly recommended spot for travelers seeking natural beauty and relaxation.
Ilha Bonita was fantastic, very beautiful with plenty of shade for you to rest. Is not very far from Bonito. I just wish that they would allow a bit of time to enjoy the last stop of the boat (bote) circuit at the Ilha do Padre. Definitely recommended

Liberty Square is a charming park located in the heart of Bonito city, making it a perfect destination for families, friends, or solo travelers. The surrounding area offers an array of gift shops, clothing stores, restaurants, and tourism agencies. While there are no public restrooms available, visitors can enjoy the small stage where occasional music shows take place on weekends. The square features numerous benches and food vendors that attract locals for leisurely evenings.
Amazing vibes specially during the night with good weather! There are a lot of restaurants, and shops there. We went during festa Junina (in June) and it was great since they had rua festas

It's a nice park to visit with family, friends or alone. It's the center of Bonito city, and surrounding the park you can easily find gifts and souvenirs stores, clothing stores, restaurants, tourism agencies and more. It doesn't have public restrooms, it does have a little scenario and sometimes there are music shows there, specially during weekends. There are a few parking spots, but they are usually not available in the afternoon/evening/night due to big crowds, so if you want to park your car there, you should go super early.

Beautiful square in the heart of Bonito, lots of benches to sit, and food vendors. Many locals come for a cool evening and enjoy the company.

In the evening it gets very active and beautiful, there are cool stalls, benches and hammocks and sometimes live performances. The place is only active from 8 pm (the lights come on) and the activity ends around 11-12 at night.

Parque das Cachoeiras-Bonito-ms is a fantastic tourist destination where visitors can embark on a guided tour that spans approximately one and a half hours. The tour offers the opportunity to explore seven breathtaking waterfalls, each providing awe-inspiring views and memorable experiences. It is advisable to bring rubber-soled reef shoes for walking on the rocky terrain in the water. Additionally, it's important to note that the tour is conducted solely in Portuguese.
It was kind of dry when I went there, but I had fun.. our Guide, Djuliane was super helpful, she was very knowledgeable and made the experience even better. Highly recommended if you go in April.

The water was freezing, and the Balneario wasn’t worth the money. It was dirty and full of sharp rocks; you can go for the waterfalls, but it's not a big deal; the receptionist was rude, too. I don’t recommend this place.

Beautiful hike and a chance to dip into a several different waterfalls in one go and a nice place to have lunch afterwards - uncommonly many healthy options🥗 Tour was also available in spanish too!

This family-friendly destination offers an array of activities including beach soccer, volleyball, giant chess, and opportunities to observe wild animals and a wide variety of fish.
I loved this place, the water is refreshing and perfect, the others things like food you can take from home or buy when you get on there.

Beautiful place with so much potential….the owner is really missing the trick here or just got too much money that don’t need to bother in make that spot a really special one! Bad service (slow). Again, it can be great with a little bit of investment in infrastructure and more staff. I’d go back there many times if they put some effort in what I just said about the place.

Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
Tucked away in a residential area, Bonito's Aquarium is a hidden gem that offers an engaging experience focused on environmental education. This indoor aquarium showcases a variety of local species, including the fascinating piranha. Visitors can enjoy guided tours led by enthusiastic staff who share intriguing facts about the freshwater fish native to Brazil’s rivers. One of the highlights includes feeding fish with food on a stick and even getting up close with freshwater stingrays!
A great collection of the fish native to the local area. Was really informative to visit after snorkeling in the local rivers and learn more about them. The visit included a guided tour (English as well as Portuguese) feeding the fish and touching a freshwater stingray.
Danny H — Google review
When we arrived at this tiny aquarium, our expectations were fairly low. Yet we left an hour later with a huge smile on our face and new knowledge about Brazil’s fresh water species. This aquarium is an entirely guided tour where staff take the time to explain the particularities of the various fish species, and their enthusiasm is contagious. Really recommend visiting the aquarium during your stay in bonito! (Please check if they offer tours in English, as our guide spoke only Portuguese)
Nathalie B — Google review
This place was surprisingly fun and entertaining. The guided tour was very informative. It was great to get to know a lot more about the variety of freshwater fish found in the area.
