A deep grotto with the blue lake at the bottom. The visit must be in a timed group, reserved beforehand via a tour agency in Bonito. The guide was very good including caring for our safety with appropriate protocols and briefing. On a cloudy or rainy day, the blue colour of the water is very muted. However, you can get bluer colours in photos using night mode.
Gruta do Lago Azul - Beautiful, Safe, and Worth Experiencing. Gruta do Lago Azul is a stunning natural site, the deep blue water and dramatic cave formations are definitely worth seeing. While it wasn’t the highlight of my trip to Bonito, I’m really glad I got to experience it.The tour is quite structured and short, with allot of stairs involved, so it may feel a bit underwhelming if you’re looking for something more adventurous. That said, the guides were fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everything was safe and well-organized. It’s a unique and peaceful spot, and definitely a worthwhile stop if you’re exploring the area. Book ahead from my experience.
We traveled from the other side of the world Australia. Such an amazing experience. We enjoyed the experience. It's a few hundred metres from the carpark, an easy guided walk, then the guides take you down slowly 300 steps. Dress light, good walking shoes and bug repellent (we brought repellent at the gift shop). No need for a hat as you wear the helmet. Guides are amazing. The gift shop also has plenty of icecream, drinks and water. Great experience. Book directly with venue and secure your pass. I have attached the best driver too who picked us up from hotel. Its a 25 minute drive but half is off road.
Really beautiful and it didn’t take too long, my 76 year old father could handle the slow paced steps 👍🏼 Some of the other similar caves are not “wet” at the bottom like this one 😉
It is quite beautiful but if you have been in a cave before it is not so special. You walk down, get some info and up again. 30 min and you are ready. The price was not in balance with the experience for me
While the cave is a nice place to see, the provider at the location is not delivering much value to it. It feels like they are simply herding as much visitors as reasonably possible in and out. As a foreign visitor you need to be lucky to get any comprehensible input as signs are only in local language and guides might or might not speak any language other than Portuguese. Most of them seem to do not, and so you might end up with not understanding anything. Overally other activities in the region are more worthwhile, and much better in accomodating international visitors' needs for information provision in multiple languages. So I recommend, go elsewhere and spend your money there, especially if you don't speak Portuguese.
The place is very beautiful. It is a huge stalactite cave with unusually blue water. The tour is not accessible and is not in English, the guide completely ignored our presence and was not very nice. The attraction is boring. Go down the stairs to see the beauty and go back up. Not sure it is worth the price.
The cave itself is nice and impressive, but the surrounding organisation to us appeared not very accommodating for foreign visitors. We do not speak Portuguese and were told at check-in that the guide would speak at least some English, which was not the case. They seemed to not bother that we didn't understand and there was no effort to, for example, switch us to the next tour 20 minutes later which apparently was run by a guide who spoke some English and had other international visitors (which we found out after the tour). So, the 'safety briefing' at the beginning and information during the tour were only provided in Portuguese. At other attractions around Bonito we found at least some signs in English, which helped us to understand a bit more. So honestly, it was a bit dissappointing for us to pay the not cheap price for the tour and transport for an experience where we could not understand anything. Nevertheless the natural beauty of the cave is memorable.

I lost my phone in the river while snorkeling and everyone did their best to find it back. After a whole night in the river someone found it and helped getting it to Bonito. I am so grateful, thank you!
very beautiful place and clear river, excellent food on the farm
Nice place to do snorkeling. There are many fishes. But not as much as I expect. The snorkeling tour is very long. I gave four star mostly because 1) they should offer free lockers 2) The guides are very in a hurry, so I cannot enjoy the snorkeling so much. I don't think it is the guides' fault, because the next group has to go on time. No English guide, so I have to ask others help. But in general, it is a nice place to go.
They charge for the use of lockers. No one else in bonito does
unique expirince of snorkeling with huge fishes in a very shallow water
(Translated by Google) An incredible and unmissable experience! The snorkeling experience I enjoyed the most. Crystal-clear waters and pleasant temperatures, plenty of fish, not to mention the sand springs (volcanoes). Our guide, Marcelo José, was very knowledgeable and gave us detailed instructions on the entire snorkeling experience. I highly recommend it! (Original) Experiência incrível e imperdível! We had an amazing time on the Sucuri River Eco Tour! The water was crystal clear, and we were able to see all sorts of fish and plants up close. Our guide Asa was unbelievable - he was so knowledgeable and friendly, and he made sure we had a great time. He was also very good at pointing out the different plants and trees that we passed. He told us all about the different properties of the plants and how they are used by the local people. We started the tour with a short hike through the rainforest to the source of the river. After that we floated down the river for about forty minutes. The water was a bit chilly at first, but we quickly warmed up. We saw all sorts of colorful fish. Overall, we had a fantastic time on the Sucuri River Eco Tour. It was a great way to experience the beauty of the Bonito region and learn about its unique ecosystem. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bonito.
Rio Sucuri snorkeling experience is truly a must-do when in Bonito. We were not disappointed: the 30-40 minutes of floating down the crystal clear freshwater stream while observing wonderful green algues and fish of all sizes (very curious!) is among the best we had throughout our travels! We are only taking off one star due to the human factor: this is a very expensive tour (1350 BRL, EUR 212 for 2 persons) for a half-day experience where lunch is not included and most of the time you are waiting either to be taken in charge, or to be picked up by the agency’s shared taxi.. again, the experience in itself lasts about 30-40 minutes only.
The snorkle flotation down this river is beautiful. You are equipped with wet suits for the cold water. The first 10 minutes of the river has immense beauty however this bleeds of very quickly and the remaining 40 minutes or so is very ordinary like any other river bed. It was still worth the visit though it was slightly on the pricy side.
Sucuri River — where water becomes soul.** 🌊✨ It has been nearly a quarter of a century — a time equal to a human generation — since I first encountered this privileged place. Back then, I did not yet have the inner maturity to grasp its purity, its serene power. But today, I understand. 🕊️ The Sucuri River is not just water. It is emotion, flowing freely. Its clarity mirrors inner awareness. To drift within it is to surrender completely to one's feelings — a state of wholeness, as Jung might say. 💧🌀 The river’s source felt like the birth of my soul — untouched, radiant, childlike in its golden innocence. 🌟🧒 And the Sucuri itself, once a symbol of my fear and anger, I now see as the shadow we must embrace to be complete. 🌒🪷 This river carried me, even when I didn’t know how to swim within myself. Now I understand: inner clarity is freedom, and emotion is the vessel of becoming. 🛶💫 **And why do I find this place so beautiful, so magnetic?** Because it mirrors what I carry inside. 🪞🌿 Long ago, I only saw this in the outside world, unaware that it was within me all along. Today, I know: my longing for purity, beauty, clarity, and connection is reflected in this river — just as it flows gently through the landscape, I wish to flow through life. 🌅🌱 That is the mirror. In it, I see my deepest longing. 💖
Really nice nature trip, blue clear water, snorkeling with plenty of fish and nice tour guides! Thank you!
Badly organised. Staff was very uncaring I didn't get to eat because I booked a dive after the flotation, and was left without ANY food! There was NOTHING left by the time I got there. I couldn't eat all day, wasn't even given a snack. Flotation and dive were great, but wasn't given a hygienic cover to wear underneath helmet for quad tour. Also, many people walked on the river floor even though they were explicitly told not to do so, staff didn't bat an eye lid though. Make sure in advance they give you all you paid for. Don't just take the word from tour operator
Fantastic experience. A lot of tours are rushed, disorganized and badly staffed. Not this one. All the staff are lovely. The float was incredibly relaxing as well as breathtaking at the same time. Must visit.
Our first experience in Bonito, we heard it was the third clearest river in the world, and I'm not sure how much clearer could it get, but you can see far in the distance, not that you need to, the fishes and the scenery are gorgeous to look at, from outsite or inside, BRING A WATERPROOF CAMERA WITH BATTERIES FULL!

Great experience, even for me that I am afraid of the water! Loved Ruan is a good guide and good instructor!
Amazing activity for kids and adults! The small kids can stay in the boat which is super safe and you swim the sucuri river snorkeling and enjoying the crystal clear water. The experience is amazing and the zip line at the end was the star of the show. The main entrance has a large pool and restaurant. You can also go check the animals as part of the compound. It is really a full day activity and the kids can swim in the pool. The weather was not great when we went during June. So we recommend it during the summer time around Feb or March you might get better weather.
It's very close to the centre of Bonito. The prices of the tour cost around R$350 on most agencies. It was an amazing experience to swim with the fish in this beautiful river. The equipment is professional and comfortable. The guide gave us small training before going to the river. It's not mandatory to know how to swim.
This place has two pools, a restaurant, a little theater (that has 0 use). It's a nice place, but I went to places where that were cheaper and with nicer views. The water of the river is amazing, and you can see some kinds of fish, the service is also pretty good, and our guide was amazing, but there are better places, in better states for less money, and the package for the photos is very tricky, you pay certain amount for photos, but at the end of the day you could end up with 0 photos under the water because the photographer forgot to take photos of you, and they don't refund the money.
Really nice experience overall. Plus they have a really nice underwater camerman who takes beautiful pics that you can buy later. The hike part we really nice for kids - a chance to see caimans and ant eaters, etc However, in this area there are river segments that are so much kore beautiful for floatation/snorkeling.
I would say great facility and service! The actual experience of floating in crystal clear water of the river, snorkeling and the encounter with the fishes, superb! The trail is short and though the temperature was still very hot in April, the path is shaded by trees. Plus, the water in the river was refreshing after the walk. Do not forget to bring repellant (opt for the environment friendly ones). Like ALL the official tours/destinations in Bonito, you have to book this one with an agency. Agencies have more or less the same pricing. For those who do cost-saving/low-cost traveling, there is no bargaining here (that I knew of, read and asked around). The prices they said are well regulated, good side is that I felt safer and wouldn't be ripped out as a tourist (experienced in some places). I have to be back in Bonito.
Arrived at 3:30pm the worker said it’s closed. On google says closes at 6pm. As well it’s needed to make booking with the agency in the city centre prior. I would kindly suggest the manager of this place to write accurate opening closing timing on google as well to mention that booking with the agency is mandatory so people don’t waste their time. Two stars for misleading.
We enjoyed the river snorkelling and return walk. Tends to be more rainforest type species of trees and wildlife. Suggest organising your own transport such as taxi. The bus service is expensive and inflexible. You'll arrive at 8, depart at 1700 which is too long in one location. It's about 7km out of town. Two in taxi 8s likely cheaper, more flexible. Also, no sunscreen or mosquito repellent to protect the water quality and fish life, which is important. The return walk, expect mosquitoes. Be mindful to take something once you are no longer getting into the river systems.

I chose to visit Bonito's Municipal Balneary to see where the locals take their friends and family to unwind. A local taught me to add fruit to the end of a long stick and place it on the water to see the fish leap up to remove the fruit. After taking a few photos of the leaping fish, I just tossed the fruit at different areas so that they can eat it in peace. Vhuntermassage LLC
Beautiful place, a lot of activities, well structured and organised
Super lovely! Only 80 BRL entry per person (needs to be bought in advance). Restraunt there with good food & drinks. Clean showers & toilets available.
It was advertised as being cool to visit, but being honest, as a tourist coming to visit for the first time Bonito, my expectations were to find nature, well that didn't happen here as there are thousand of local people, and I hope I'm not taken wrong here but a touristic place does not involved be surrounded of an overcrowded place, where there was no space to sit by the river, no place to sit on the chairs, noisy, among other factors. You see only one type of fish swimming among people, but being with that many, you can't really enjoy this place. And besides that the only activities there are, either swim, sit on the restaurant or grill your own meat, and that's it. So we had to stay there without being able to do anything.
If you want to see thousands of "piraputanga" fish and maybe some "dourados" this is the place. They're used to humans and will be swimming with you. A very safe place for families to enjoy a full day.
We visited on a cold day but still made the most of the park and had the water mostly to ourselves. Had some hot snacks in the cafe and had a family of monkeys come for a visit. I can only imagine how beautiful and refreshing it is on a hot day!
I love to go there during the week, less people... go there and enjoy it
If your not brave enough to get in ice cold water then all you'll enjoy is seeing the clear waters and fish. The food is delicious, but the fun is swimming among the fish. You can swim down River for 7min and you'll feel like you own the place. Because its Tranquil and no loud music playing. BRING SNORKEL! Small place, but beautiful.

I’m reminiscing my Bonito trip. I don’t speak Portuguese but Spanish and even if we don’t understood all of it, we totally loved and changed our mind in regard of reptiles. Very informative!
I found the lecture boring as throughout it was in Portuguese which is hard to understand for a international traveler like me. We expected that the lecturer would atleast translate few things in English but unlucky us But holding snake was an bizarre experience
We left after a few minutes. It’s like a joke gone bad. A few old tanks holding snakes. Then the stench of the public toilets. The whole thing is weird. We bought tickets through an agency in advance and will ask for refunds
DON’T GO unless you speak Portuguese After listening to a 30min speech with a few pictures you are excited to come to the highlight: taking pictures with 2 snakes around your neck. First comes first serve so you get a clearly visible number at the entrance. So far so good so simple, but when it was my turn (my Portuguese is good enough to understand the numbers) the lady called my number and within less than a second the next number leading to some discussion. Shit happens, all good. But after the other lady responsible for handing over the big yellow snake also COMPLETELY ignored me and walked out of the room without giving me the chance to take a picture with Mrs.Boa I got angry and did not feel welcome. I paid 50Rs extra for these pictures. She couldn’t have missed this as she was sitting next to the cashier and she couldn’t have missed the fact that I am not a native speaker. Again: not recommended unless you speak Portuguese as it is too expensive for what you get.
I liked it, very informative and even a little funny. Henrique is very passionate about the topic and knows a lot about them. His mission is to teach as many people as possible about serpents. The only thing I have to say is: don't go if you don't understand Portuguese. As the owner speaks fluent English, it would be very helpful if he'd also have the translation, even if on his television where he shows a few clips. He speaks very fast Portuguese and if you're not very fluent you'll miss a lot. My daughter was raised overseas, but understands Portuguese, during the show she was bored because it didn't capture her attention.
This place is absolutely worth of visiting. It made me change radically the understanding I had on snakes and I could take some amazing photos
Really great but if you don't speak Portuguese not sure it's worth it
Very nice place. If you go to Bonito then you must go at Projeto Jibóia. Everyone very kindly!

(Translated by Google) The trip along the Rio do Peixe was undoubtedly the most "relaxed" I experienced in Bonito. It's a very pleasant trail, with several stops for a refreshing dip. Upon arrival, as usual, we received instructions about the activity. Anyone who wanted could borrow a life jacket. The trail began with breathtaking views, and the farm dog decided to be our canine guide, accompanying us the entire way. We passed several bridges that, Indiana Jones-style, swayed a lot. I confess I was a little nervous on some of them. During the swim stops, fun was guaranteed: waterfalls, zip lines, diving boards, and even a daring jump into a hole for the more fearless. To end the day of adventure, we returned to the headquarters, where a delicious lunch awaited us. And, as a lively bonus, we also got to see several monkeys getting up to their tricks.

(Translated by Google) It was amazing. On the way we saw a wild dog running along the side of the road and an anaconda. You can rent a life jacket there, which is great because it provides support. They don't provide wetsuits, which are great for children in winter. We got there and saw blue macaws. It was unbelievable. We thought they weren't real, but the guides confirmed it. Our guide was amazing. He even lent me a pair of shorts that I had forgotten at the Bonsay Hotel. He jumped into a rainbow waterfall to encourage people who were scared. The entire trail is very clean and wide. There is a slightly long walk, but it's not difficult. The food is amazing. There are lots of salads and dishes. It's already included in the tour. At least the voucher we got already included lunch. It was divine. At the end, the owner even calls the macaws to pose and take pictures. It's surreal.

He was patient with everyone and super friendly without being evasive. I saw a huge variety of fish, birds, and monkeys. This was the place where lunch was super tasty and had the most variety. If you're lucky, you can even take pictures with the macaws. (Original) O guia Rodrigo parece amar o que faz, ele foi o único em todos os passeios que realmente entrava nas cachoeiras, tinha paciência com todos, super simpático sem ser evasivo. So beautiful to visit. Love the tour, perhaps too many people at a time
Super cool experience and a great introduction to the Bonito area. Our guide was very informative and we learned a lot about the formation of the caves and the history. Definitely recommend especially for those with kids.
You will get to see various formations of stalagmites in various stages, which means different shapes, textures, etc.
It's an average cavern. Our guide didn't speak any English so the tour was a complete waste of money
Very nice trip too see the stalactites and stalagmites. Very good guide who takes good fotos.
Nice place, Natural limestone caves, billions of years old. good guide ready to amswer all your questions. but keep in mind you have to go down a lot of steps. Its nice
Our experience here reflects the fundamental change to the Bonito experience during the past 20 years. In 1994, on my first visit to the town of Bonito, in all the attractions, including cave visits, we had to sign off a waiver of responsibility to the business owners and then enjoyed the attraction however we could. It was cheap, but if you had an accident, well, tough luck - you signed a waiver after all. Nowadays we certainly pay much more, but fill out an insurance form and the visit is closely supervised in the safest way possible. Unfortunately, today we found that out in the worst way possible. My wife slipped on the stairway down to the entrance of the cave and broke her wrist. The staff was quick and professional to perform rescue, first aid and accompany us to the hospital. They even paid for the meds and arranged an appointment with a traumatologist on the same day. So, please, watch your steps. But do know that should something bad happen, the business will assist you to the end.
Amazing experience, great guides and the infrastructure is very good! Would always recommend visiting if you come to Bonito!

Our guide, Marina, was excellent. Lunch was truly delicious and there were great options for everyone: I am gluten-free and vegetarian and I loved the lunch. My meat-loving son also loved lunch. The ropes course was great fun and we enjoyed hanging out there as well. If I went again, I would also do the other activities.
The tubing was really fun and our guides jose and gabriel were great! Photos are expensive at an extra 80BRL for the package. They have alot of free activities like paddleboarding & canoeing but the laguna where you can do this (and swim) isn't very big or nice. There are other parks to visit which are nicer for a day visit including the municipal balneiro.
Great trails, horseback rides, standup paddle, zip line, river floating and many other water related activities with good food included. You may take an activity and spend the whole day there.
Beautiful day at a very special place !! Parque Ecológico Rio Formoso is a very special place for our family that we visit each time we come to Bonito. The staff are very welcoming and as soon as we exited the car they were there to greet us and explain the necessary instructions. The Boia Cross tour is a great, we experienced the beauty and peace of the Rio Formoso while also enjoying the rapids at various points. The guides for the boia cross are always a lot of fun and make the tour fun and pleasurable.... The horse riding tour is also very memorable riding through the nature of the farm and forest for 2 hours and stopping half way for a swim in the Rio formoso close to some pleasant rapids... An added bonus is after the tours you can relax and swim as long as you want besides the large lagoon where they have stand up paddle, paddle boats and a flying fox which is really cool and relaxing and fun for everyone....
Hands down one of the best activities in Bonito! Absolutely beautiful park, the guides are so so nice and funny and make the Boia Cross activity soo much fun. We did it in the rain and it was amazing! Definitely recommend it to anyone, it's safe, informative and a lot a lot of fun! A big thanks to our guides Guilherme and Venicio!
One of our best days out in the two weeks in Brazil. The staff were hilarious and so kind - they made sure we had a great time and kept us laughing throughout. The park itself is beautiful and you would be mad not to go here if you travel here. I cannot recommend this place enough ... Go and have fun!
We had a fun Boai Cross with Pablo and Markus. The place is beautiful and the stuff very friendly. We had Pablo as english speaking guide and that was great. His english is good and we had no problems in communication. The ride is not like river rafting but a fun and happy experience. We are glad doing this here. After the river we enjoyed staying at the lake.
I did the boio cross and although it wasn't the non-stop thrill that rafting often is, it was still a lot of fun. The guides were fabulous. They didn't speak English but did a great job of making sure I knew all the safety rules (I also suspect there are English speaking guides if requested), and they were great at making it a fun and memorable experience. When not toppling down one of five waterfalls you can appreciate the tranquility of the beautiful Formosa River - looking at the trees rather than looking under the water like most other tours in this area. And if you're there early or want to stay later, you can enjoy the park itself - swimming in the clear watered lake, using the tirolesa (flying fox/ hand supported zip line), paddleboards or kayaks. This park really is hours of fun. Oh - and they sell Black Lemon icecream - yum!!

Most spectacular place to dive; fear-inspiring rappelling down 72 into a cave system seen by very few eyes! Sleek operation; care taken to offer training in rappelling the day before - Abysmo Anhumas was one of the highlights of my life!
I really don't understand the hype. I am not a geologist or an expert of any kind in these things. So maybe, just maybe, I don't get how special it his. It is definitely a nice cave and it's well organized how you get down with the lift and they take could care of safety. Inside its interesting. But the amount of money they charge is in no relation. That's just insane. No matter if you dive or not, that's too much. The mimoso cave has a way better price value ratio. Specifically if you wanna scuba dive. Do think twice, if you want to invest this money.
Cool place, fun ride down with the electric cable chair, cool dive, lots of formations underwater, then a boat ride around the lake to hear a bit more about the place. Only downside is the high price.

(Translated by Google) I went in August, and it was very cold that day, but regardless, I didn't find it pleasant. A dark, flooded hole—for me, that's the most realistic description of the place. The photos turned out really well even with night mode on my phone. In person, it's just a dark, flooded cave. It helped me never pay to enter a cold, flooded, dark cave again. Pra mim serviu pra nunca mais pagar para entrar numa caverna fria alagada e escura.
I went to Abismo today and can recommend to any divers. Unique experience and well run. Ronnie looked after us. I believe snorkelling is also catered for. Pretty cool. Cater for English speakers

Amazing vibes specially during the night with good weather! There are a lot of restaurants, and shops there. We went during festa Junina (in June) and it was great since they had rua festas
It's a nice park to visit with family, friends or alone. It's the center of Bonito city, and surrounding the park you can easily find gifts and souvenirs stores, clothing stores, restaurants, tourism agencies and more. It doesn't have public restrooms, it does have a little scenario and sometimes there are music shows there, specially during weekends. There are a few parking spots, but they are usually not available in the afternoon/evening/night due to big crowds, so if you want to park your car there, you should go super early.
Beautiful square in the heart of Bonito, lots of benches to sit, and food vendors. Many locals come for a cool evening and enjoy the company.
In the evening it gets very active and beautiful, there are cool stalls, benches and hammocks and sometimes live performances. The place is only active from 8 pm (the lights come on) and the activity ends around 11-12 at night.
Nice location. Similar to an Eat Street layout. Many meal options with live bands and positive atmosphere.
Must visit in Bonito. Had a great atmosphere at night with some children playing ball in the park and many food options!
Beautiful place to be, specially at sunrise and sunset which is when all the birds fly in and out the trees.

It was kind of dry when I went there, but I had fun.. our Guide, Djuliane was super helpful, she was very knowledgeable and made the experience even better. Highly recommended if you go in April.
The water was freezing, and the Balneario wasn’t worth the money. It was dirty and full of sharp rocks; you can go for the waterfalls, but it's not a big deal; the receptionist was rude, too. I don’t recommend this place.
Beautiful hike and a chance to dip into a several different waterfalls in one go and a nice place to have lunch afterwards - uncommonly many healthy options🥗 Tour was also available in spanish too!
highly recommend. we had Carolina as our guide. she was awesome. very beautiful tour.
Excelente trip! It takes about an hour and a half. You can meet 7 waterfalls. There is a parking lot.
One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, lindo, Bonito. Words cannot express how beautiful this experience is, paradise it is just amazing, you are able to swim and relax at each water fall and swim with ipiraputanga indigenous fish of the area. God made a beautiful earth for us to enjoy and care for. Loved this beautiful amazing place a must for those who visit Brazil. BONITO 🙏🏼🙏🏼👍👍👍👍👍💦

Simply Beautiful. Outstanding service and great food after a nice day on trails and floating.
The walks are similar to Mt Tamborine in Queensland Australia. Can swim though be prepared for mosquitoes at times. Horse ride is nice after lunch. I've not seen vultures in the wild so interesting site and the large numbers.
Amazing fazenda! Unfortunately we were not lucky with the weather when we went but the place is amazing! It is highly recommended if you have kids they have everything you can think about for kids! The food was also amazing and the snorkeling and the hike were also amazing. The guide was super nice and the group we went with were super friendly. Highly recommended fazenda!
Nice hike through the forest to different waterfalls. Nicely organized and good guide. The bridges are a little sketchy so I you are scared of dangling bridges this one might not be for you. Great lunch.
If you like small waterfalls and jumping in and out of different cold river pools then this is your tour. No English spoken so we would have had no idea what was going on if it wasn't for another person on the tour. However, the 155m underwater cave at the end is almost worth the visit on its own. There is some wikd life but not a great deal. The Fazenda is lovely, there is a lake for kayaks, horse riding, a lovely lunch and cheap drink. If it is the snorkelling that attracts you, then opt for Rio Prata instead.
This place is far away from a true nature experience, but it depends on what you like. We booked the day tour for "hiking" to some waterfalls, but it was actually only some few meters of walking from waterfall to waterfall with too many photo stops where people lined up to get a good shot for their social media. Swimming, jumping into the water etc. is also possible. A short snorkel section was also part of the tour, but everything around Bonito is strictly regulated so that you can only snorkel within set lines here. Even though some extra activities as well as a small breakfast and snack in the afternoon are included, it's far too overpriced for us. 3 stars for the clean and well-organised farm, great food at lunch and the beautiful preserved parts of nature. If you're looking for a swimming experience with nice waterfalls, you might enjoy it, but don't expect a wildlife tour.
Beautiful place with waterfalls and fun activities for families such as paddle boarding and horseback riding. Lunch was delicious as well. We didn't want to leave.

A great collection of the fish native to the local area. Was really informative to visit after snorkeling in the local rivers and learn more about them. The visit included a guided tour (English as well as Portuguese) feeding the fish and touching a freshwater stingray.
When we arrived at this tiny aquarium, our expectations were fairly low. Yet we left an hour later with a huge smile on our face and new knowledge about Brazil’s fresh water species. This aquarium is an entirely guided tour where staff take the time to explain the particularities of the various fish species, and their enthusiasm is contagious. Really recommend visiting the aquarium during your stay in bonito! (Please check if they offer tours in English, as our guide spoke only Portuguese)
This place was surprisingly fun and entertaining. The guided tour was very informative. It was great to get to know a lot more about the variety of freshwater fish found in the area.
Best small aquarium ever.

This cave system is reached via a forest path, guided in a timed group which you must reserve beforehand at a tour agency in Bonito. It is well worth it as the cave is fascinating albeit smaller than a cathedral. Our guide was very well informed. There is also a small museum with old fashioned trucks, typewriters, calculators and many other unrelated objects and a little information about the origins of the Fazenda Rincão Bonito, which gave its name to the town.
The Saint Matthew Grotto was very enjoyable and family friendly. While you wait for the tour to start there's a museum boasting articles used by the locals throughout the decades as well stuffed animals donated by the local authorities. The Grotto itself goes at about 50 meters deep into the ground and the guide will give you a vast amount of information about the cave as well as the local nature elements.
Half of the fun was due to Galvão, the tour guide, who has educated his followers about different aspects of the cave, including the wish room, ;).
The tour guides are great! The cave is nice but not overwhelming. The museum is a joke. Old stuff from everywhere without any explanation.
This was a last minute decision to visit and we were so pleased to go! What a fascinating cave with so many different formations. It is a privilege to be able to get so close, in some areas even touch such old formations built over millions of years. It is well planned and cared for with informative guides ( unsure if they have any English speaking ones). To be in and a walk around an area formed during the Pangea time literally the bottom of an ocean! We were in awe and thought it to be more informative and just as if not more Interisting than the Gruta do Lago Azul. If you need to stay dry for a few hours and in our case it was super cold in town this is an excellent choice to pass time.
Great experience. Though the actual cave length is alot shorter than I expected. It is pretty magical inside the cave. Bring a light jacket as the cave temp is cooler than outside. Jacket will also help protect from some of the mosquitos inside.
Small caves with some pretty formations. The more interesting parts are in the rock surfaces - strange and beautiful patterns - grey circles, vertical striations and a couple of colour changes because of the iron on the soil. The guide knows basic information about cave formations but didn't not appear to know much about the more interesting things. Seeing my interest though, the guide have me a flash light so I could look at the rocks more closely which was thoughtful of him. I'm not sure if there is an English speaking guide available.
