Pozo Azul in Minca is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, featuring a series of cascades, natural pools, and scenic trails set in a forested valley. While the entrance is reportedly free, there have been conflicting reports about an entrance fee. Visitors are advised to be cautious about strong currents in the main part of the area and to avoid swimming in certain areas. The site tends to get crowded on Sundays but can be more peaceful later in the day or early morning.
Really beautiful! Nice walk and nice atmosphere. Water is cold but you'll get used to it in a minute or so. Such a nice experience!! Highly recommended!

6k entry free between the hours of 09:00-16:00. Nice easy 30 minutes walk from Minca. Super refreshing deep cold water with a couple of spots to jump in from.
SEB W — Google review
Really worth checking this place out. I came here in the evening when it was a lot quieter. I would recommend going later in the evening or early on the morning as it's a lot less busy. The waterfall is amazing and the water is just the right temperature. Overall I would highly recommend this place and will be returning
Calum T — Google review
Nothing special, plus a coupled plastic chairs in the water. 6000 peso to enter (?) Birdwatching or visiting a coffee farm is much better option once you are in Minca
Ivona A — Google review
Very coool place to go swimming. The secret is to go very early in the morning and to be there at 8 because after all the tourists are coming and you cannot enjoy it. Be careful it’s a river so it is quite called in the morning.
Julien C — Google review
This place is a must visit in Minca!! It's not clear if they charge an entrance fee or not. They didn't charge me but a British couple I met told me they had to pay. Is not allowed to swim in the first part of Poco Azul. Currents are very strong on the main part and the mini pool on the top. There are several sellers offering snacks and local food.
Deric ( — Google review
Very nice waterfall. Would recommend either going nice and early or later on in the day due to it filling up with tourists.
Matt S — Google review
The water is nice and cool - a welcomed joy after a long hike. The place gets pretty crowded, though, so I didn't stay long. I think the locals use the word "waterfall" quite loosely - this is the second waterfall I checked out in two days that doesn't quite fit the bill in my mind ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ some guys were jumping into the water so I suppose it is a mini waterfall. Either way, people were having a good time hiding from the heat.

La Candelaria Coffee Farm B&B

4.6

Farmstay
Nestled in a secluded hilltop location, La Candelaria Coffee Farm B&B is an organic coffee and cacao farm that also offers tours. The family-owned cacao farm has become a popular attraction in Minca due to its stunning hillside setting and the captivating stories shared by the family who have been cultivating cacao and coffee as part of the area's transformation into an eco-tourism hub.
Came here for the cacao tour and it was absolutely amazing! I didn't make a booking. Arrived during their hours of operation and waited 20 minutes for the next tour to begin (all in English). Our guide was very knowledgable and interactive. It's a family run farm, and you can buy chocolates & cacao from their shop after. The walk up was quite tough in the heat, but good exercise and well worth it!
Monia — Google review
Came here by quite a picturesque hike. There 2 ways to come by waking, via waterfall or by the off-road. Owners are very friendly and kind. Place has amazing views, fresh fruits, drinks and coffee or cacao tours. We took cacao one and it was great. They do speak English, explain all steps of cacao making, let you try different types of cacao/chocolate. Tour was very informative and interesting. Also you can buy some pure chocolate there for better price than anywhere in the city Highly recommended to visit!
Alexandr T — Google review
We did the coffee tour this morning and it was fantastic! We were the only ones on the tour (the chocolate one after seemed much busier). Very in depth tour (in english too!), we learnt the whole process from growing right through to grinding and got to taste the coffee too. So happy we did this- highly recommend. (Take a moto taxi up 20k per person as its a very, very steep walk up otherwise!).
Katie H — Google review
I did the coffee tour and Oscar was an excellent guide. He went through all the steps in the process of coffee as well as lots of info about growing coffee! He literally takes you step-by-step from bean to cup and you can enjoy an amazing cup or coffee at the end. I really enjoyed it, thanks Oscar! On another note, the views are great. I walked up from Minca: it took me more than 1.5 hours because I stopped many times to take photos of flowers, plants, butterflies, and look at birds.
Erika V — Google review
Just finished the cocoa tour!! Highly recommend! It starts with the tour guide talking about the cocoa plant in general - how it’s planted, the climate it grows in, the problems cocoa farmers face etc. Our tour guide, Elki (sorry if I haven’t written your name correctly), was extremely knowledgable and friendly. Then you’re taken to how chocolate is made from the cocoa beans - this is the best part!! You get to taste the bean at multiple stages of its life as it is being turned into chocolate. It finishes with a hot chocolate - the purest chocolate you will ever try! Oh and you can try a chocolate face mask! It’s also set in a beautiful historical farm that is about 100 years old with the business being passed down three generations. It’s about 20,000 COP for a motor taxi up to the farm and, considering it is so steep up, I’d suggest you take one and walk down. All in all, a really local and authentic experience where you can learn how they are cultivating the land in the Minca area.
Antonia M — Google review
We didn’t stay here. We did the coffee tour which was fantastic. Cheap informative and fun. Staff were all very friendly. Coffee was amazing but the hot chocolate was a little too dark for our liking (we appreciate this is a personal preference).
Abi A — Google review
We did the cocoa tour. It was a good tour, but we had a sour taste in our mouth from the start. I asked beforehand over WhatsApp if the tour was in English, and they confirmed that yes it was a multilingual tour. However, the guide seemed very put out by this, and expressed annoyance that he had to speak both English and Spanish, complaining it doubles the length of the tour to repeat things in both languages. As we were the only people in the group that didn't understand Spanish, we were made to feel very awkward, and were singled out. He also asked the group if everyone spoke English so he could switch completely to English, but one lady could not speak English, and again she was seemingly scolded for not being bilingual! He did not say everything in both languages, so it was disappointing. I recommend they split out the tours by languages, so the guide isn't so inconvenienced by providing the advertised tour, and guests aren't made to feel inadequate for their language skills. Tours split into languages is very common, as we've seen it all over Colombia.

We had a great time doing the cacao tour! Elkin was very knowledgeable and it was great with different tastings etc. Would recommend :)

Bakery
La Miga Panadería is a charming European-style bakery located in the heart of Minca. It offers freshly baked baguettes, ciabatta, and delectable chocolate bread. The bakery also serves richly flavored coffee and espresso drinks to complement their bread selection. Additionally, La Miga Panadería provides homemade hummus, baba ghanoush, and cheese for those looking to pick up supplies for picnic lunches or enjoy a delightful breakfast.
Excellent bakery. Friendly service. Came here twice, once for takeaway and once for dine in. The pain au chocolate was light and airy. It's not the French variety, it's basically bread with chocolate bits in it. The focaccia bread was lovely as well. Coffee was good too. And very affordable!
Yih C — Google review
I've only had 2 things here so far, a baguette and an americano. The baguette was quite small but surprisingly good for Colombia (I'm an admitted baguette, croissant, bagel, smoked meat and poutine snob😁), and reasonably priced at 5 COP. The americano was also good and reasonably priced at 5 COP. Very friendly and attentive service. 5 tables outside plus a counter with 5 stools. They say they open at 6 am but, and here's where the Colombian part comes in, the baguettes only start rolling out at about 8 am 🙄. They have other breads, pastries and hot & cold drinks. I bought a baguette here, cheese and tomato at a grocery store and made my lunch at the Marinka Waterfalls where they actually have a mini picnic area! (I did a review of that place too). I really appreciate them having good quality food and beverage while staying reasonably priced, a combo that's in short supply in foreign traveller heavy Minca. Muchísimas gracias La Miga!
Michel S — Google review
Went here twice for lunch. The bread was very good and perfect for a light lunch. We paid 16 000 COP for 3 bread the first day and 28 000 COP for 3 breads and 2 hot chocolate milks the second day.

The granizada cafe was the best thing I have ever drank…especially after a long walk. The bread was fresh and delicious. The view is so nice, great to sit and watch the world go by.

It’s a lovely little bakery in Minca town that sells both bread and “deserts”, like donuts. We had the focaccia bread two days in a row because it’s so good and so reasonably priced - as of now, it’s only 4,000 pesos for a slice!
Antonia M — Google review
Perfect place for a simple brekfast or to grab bread and othets to go. Tasteful "tinto" and perfect chocolat bread. Everything is perfect and tasteful in here!
Sílvia D — Google review
Great place! Had the chocolate bread and the best banana muffin ever. The hot chocolate was really good and great to dip in and they had nice cold kombucha which was nice in the hot and is the first kombucha I've seen in south America. The lovely staff gave our free sourdough as they were about to close and that was so tasty. One of the best bakeries I've been to in South America, especially for the price. I will definitely be back.

La Miga is a must to visit if you are travelling to or through Minca. It is a lovely French bakery in the middle of this Colombian village that has great (plain) baguettes to bring on a hike or simply a sweetened bread roll for a quick snack.

The cafe serves a full breakfast and lunch menu, along with homemade breads and ice cream, all made from fresh ingredients.
All around filled with wonder vegan / vegetarian restaurant The food is the best in minca hands down for fresh clean and good portioning From their drinks and smoothies to burgers breakfast it’s all amazing here. I have the hot cacao in coconut milk every time I’m there sometimes just for that. The team at duni is kind and respectful and patient for non Spanish speakers! The owner Tatiana is superb always says hi to the guests and takes time to get to know them! The atmosphere is zen and filled with good vibes! They also have a mini store in the restaurant with lots of local artisanal and indigenous goodies like bags and local cacao coffee and honey So many reasons to come and experience the magic and wonder of duni, could write a lot more but ultimately you have to be the one to experiment the magic yourself Deepest mahalo duni

The trendiest cafe in Minca! Three of us went for lunch on Thursday and could not recommend it enough! I had the vegetarian burger - it was beautiful bread, a really well flavoured patty and came with a small side of roast potatoes. My friend had the chipotle chicken sandwich and it was equally good! Also, very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. You defintely should go for breakfast or lunch.
Antonia M — Google review
Was very pleasantly surprised by my experience. I’m a snob when it comes to food now, and tend to gravitate towards places that have a good ambiance, and Duni was incredible on both fronts. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by how good and fresh it was compared to other places I’ve eaten here. Highly recommend!!
Gian S — Google review
Very cute cafe with a great menu! I enjoyed the Chai tea and omelet of the day. The vegetarian options all sound delicious and there are vegan choices as well. Perfect spot for a quick and chill breakfast!
Ashlee B — Google review
This is a nice restaurant with really lovely staff, however I felt that portions were small, especially considering the price. A single arepa costs up to 27 000… which is nearly two menús del día…. and a chicken chipotle sandwich costs 29 000. I felt like a nice side salad, or a portion of beans/lentils or simple platanitos, just something extra really would not cost much to the business and would make a huge difference for the customer.
Lauren — Google review

Lovely place with nice cappuccino's and carrot cake. The owner was very nice and kind, she had a glow of happiness around her. Definitely would recommend! We're coming back later today for another pastry.

This is one of my favorite Restaurants in Minca. The vegetarian lasagna might be the best I’ve ever had and their chocolate bread is mouthwatering. Everyday from 12-4 they offer the meal of the day which comes with a juice and is fairly priced at 14,000 COP. The rest of the menu is a bit on the pricy side but def worth trying. I also really enjoyed their homemade granola and coca tea. Things they could improve on...lower prices for the regular menu items and more vegan options. One of the owners Yani is very kind and welcoming. She even helped me book a massage that had nothing to do with her business and insists on giving free filtered water bottle refills to customers. They are closed on Wednesdays!

Best food in Minca! We've visited three times during our two day stay in town. The food is well seasoned, the meet is perfectly cooked and the cats stolling through restaurant are adorable. Service is good too. It's best to speak some Spanish though, since the stsff don't speak much English. It's alao best to show up early since the tables seem to fill up quite quickly. In summary: highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I both ordered medium steaks, mine came good but my boyfriends came out still very very rare. As for the taste… really nothing special, not really bad but also not really good, tasted like a simple home made level steaks cooked on a pan (maybe I’m wrong but it didn’t taste like they were cooked any differently). The service was just fine not really something to write home about. With all that said, there is a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and we did enjoy drinking beer there in the rain :)

Absolutely phenomenal. The best meal we've had in Colombia by a long way. If you go to Minca you have to come here!! We had a big group so tried the wraps with chicken and beef, fattest especial (our favel), fazulia (beans), plato mixo. Simply unreal!

This place invited us in with open arms when the rest of the town was completely out of power. We ordered the beef kebab, chips and zataar, all were incredible, as was the service. Also Don't forget the drinks 🍹 OMG i loved the mixture of it

We had a great dinner here. Nice to have a change of food, it was delicious and good portion size. I'm guessing little bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area. We paid 138 000 COP for 2 main dishes and 2 juices.

You have to come here just for the natural juice / smoothies they served. The two of us had the passion fruit and strawberry juice and they are the best I have had so far in Columbia. For our meal, we had hummus to start and the chicken schwarma which were both good - not the best I’ve had but for being in a jungle, it was much higher than expected. Oh and we had a really lovely man who served us!

Smoothies Restaurante - Bar in Minca is an exceptional establishment that offers a delightful dining experience. This hidden gem is renowned for its exquisite food and beverages. During the 5pm-7pm happy hour, guests can indulge in mouthwatering $10000 burgers accompanied by $5000 glasses of wine. The burger itself is positioned between two delectable clouds of goodness, with a bun that exudes freshness like no other.
After the hike we decided to have brunch here. We had a fruit bowl, pancakes and a cayeye traditional dish from the region that we tried fro the first time and everything was delicious and the staff was nice. They didn't have cappuccino so if you are a coffee person try other place but the food was yummy.

Yummm- came here by recommendation for their sweet crepes. I tried the Nutella with banana + ice cream and was glad. The portion is quite large for a dessert so it's shareable or you could just eat it as a meal like I did. The place appears small from the outside but it could sit quite a few people. The staff was really friendly and they have English or Spanish menu.

An absolute gem of a place in Minca. We headed there for the 5pm-7pm happy hour with $10000 burgers and $5000 cups of wine. That burger was sitting between a couple of clouds of deliciousness. Never have I had such a fresh burger bun before. It was served with a handful of freshly cut chips and the wine was absolutely perfect. Customer service was top notch and we had a great night. One of the worst dishes we had in seven weeks Colombia. Had a burger there in April where the meat was dying another death. Totally dry. Rest was average. The worst was the balsamico dressing all over the bun and the plate. The bun was crumbling. It’s so easy to find good and easy burger recipes. Def. A big fail in this place.

Loved this place! It was a complete surprise as we had no expectations and ate there on a whim. We've been back twice since which speaks volumes! Every dish we've had has been great and the portions are plenty after a mornings hike. Big fan of the pasta dishes.

Surprisingly good food. Their vegetarian pizza is loaded with mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes. Excellent value happy hour specials from 17:00-19:00. Their limonada natural for $3,500 COP is excellent. Highly recommended!

Pretty tasty and seemed pretty fresh. I got the chicken sandwich and they had no problem modifying an ingredient for me. My wife got the chicken & veggie wok stir fry, which was also good, albeit a bit too sweet and strangely came with garlic bread instead of rice or noodles. The juices we got were also good, the large size being pretty big so a medium would probably be enough with a meal. Though nothing was spectacular, I'd go back to try some other items if I were in Minca again.

The Mexican restaurant, Sativa Taco y Chela, is the best overall dining experience in Colombia I have had in the past 7 years. The menu offers delicious options such as nachos, burritos, tacos, and quesadillas that are paired perfectly with great margaritas. However, what sets this place apart is its outstanding service and comfortable atmosphere. It feels like a little piece of California here in Colombia.
Excellent place to eat. We ate here 4 times during our stay in Minca. Food was delicious, great value for what you pay. Drinks are affordable. You can pay with card without extra fee like other places charge. Staff were friendly. Definitely eat here!

Service was perfect and very friendly! The restaurant itself is very “insta-worthy” especially the entrance. Highly recommended!!! ❤️❤️❤️ 🇲🇽

Nice place with a nice atmosphere. The food was ok. I had the vegetarian Burrito but there were no black beans inside like in the description and also they could make the Burritos a bit more fresh. Putting some fresh veggies inside and maybe a better protein source like beans and mais or Tofu/ Tempeh/Seitan. The lemon pie was really good.

We had a burrito and tacos with beef and it was delicious! 😋 it’s was very filling, even the tacos. Sometimes tacos can be small, but these ones were bigger and nicely filled. The Frappuccino was also delicious. Highly recomended!

A truly great experience - Both in terms of friendly, attentive and helpful staff - but first and foremost the great tasting food 🌯 but also the fresh juice. We came back even though we did not plan to visit a restaurant twice during our Minca stay.
Jimmy W — Google review
I’m not sure if this was because it was a quieter time before the higher tourist season started however the woman who served us was trying to trick us with the card machine. First she claimed she couldn’t split the bill as she didn’t know how to enter the amounts in the machine, when this was shown to not be true she then tried to hide the machine and add an extra amount to the bill so we could be in effect tipping twice - despite the bill listing the voluntary service charge which we had already included. Which she was aware of so this was not a simple misunderstanding. Food is great - good value for money and everything is delicious. WiFi works well here too. I do recommend this place as we enjoyed the food however just check your bill and make sure you check the amount on the card machine.

Located in a beautiful setting, IJKA Minca Cafe Pizzeria offers a cozy and homely atmosphere with exceptional service. The owners are friendly and the place is adorned with a relaxed vibe. Guests can enjoy various card games while waiting for their delicious food. The pizzas are surprisingly delightful, featuring fresh and flavorful toppings on a perfect base. Additionally, the restaurant grows its own herbs and ingredients, adding to the charm of the dining experience.
We can't thank Pazkal, Dwin, and their wonderful family enough for the incredible experience we had at their family-owned restaurant. The food was not only outstanding but also full of flavor and love. We particularly loved the pizzas, home made hummus, vegan pancakes and montañita breakfast. Beyond the delicious meals, we gained a deep appreciation for their vision and the kind-hearted souls behind the business. From the moment you step into the art- and plant-filled space, you feel the warmth and care that defines this place. It's truly run by amazing people. We can’t wait to return—it deserves more than the highest number of stars!

Fantastic small and cozy pizza restaurant!!! Rarely have we tasted such a great pizza, outside of Italy. The restaurant is ran by a nice couple, with the wife bing the waitress (and the boss) and the husband is the cook. Be careful which size you choose, as the small/personal size is definitely sufficient for one person. We both chose the medium size, and I had great difficulty finishing it, but couldn't stop because it was so tasty. The lady (sorry I forgot your name) is absolutely great, amazingly friendly, making you feel you are having dinner at your (Italian) home. Highly recommended!!

A very nice family run pizzeria - we visited two nights in a row. They are big pizzas, we shared a medium between two which was more than enough. Could get half/half toppings - then one with banana was our favourite! Location is a bit hidden away and looks like you’re entering a hotel, but continue down the driveway until the end and it’s there. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful little find nestled in the jungle! The family who run the pizza place are so kind and welcoming and accommodating. The pizza was delicious and huge and very reasonably priced! Had a couple of beers whilst the sunset too which was beautiful and reasonably priced beers as well! We can’t thank them enough for their hospitality and will be sure to visit again in our stay😊😊

Very delicious pizza and generous portion sizes for the affordable prices. Service was slightly slow but the atmosphere makes up for it. Great little place hidden away in the jungle..enough said 👌

Excellent thin crust crispy pizza. A medium size feeds 2 people well. Owners are super friendly and it's a cute spot.

I really loved this place! The pizza was good (the medium size is enough to satiate 2 people), the cocktails even better, the decoration of the place has some sort of hippie vibe and feels cozy, the music is amazing too. The vibe is chill and cheerful. The staff was so welcoming and warm. The price super honest. 10/10

Amora Cocina Saludable is a superb café that offers top-notch cuisine. As travelers, we were concerned about food safety and quality, but we were pleasantly impressed by their meticulous handling of ingredients and cooking methods. The serano toast is exceptional, and the fruit bowls are generously sized. This establishment is a quintessential family-run business that radiates joy in having been discovered. We received an incredibly warm and welcoming reception, with remarkable service throughout our visit.
The Best Acai Fruit Bowl that you would taste in America!! A little of Brazil and Colombia in a bowl. Everything was delicious, the freshly made corn arepas in the Colombian Breakfast, served with locally grown chocolate made the hot cocoa an experience, with fresh cheese soaked in. OMG!! I had to try local beer Tucan, what a treat!! And the best service :)

Second morning in a row we’re eating here and probably will come again for last breakfast tomorrow! The women working here offer the best service and are very friendly! The food is very good and worth the price (the avocado toast is amazing!) Can definitely say that this is my favorite restaurant in Minca 🙏🏼

They have a few vegan options, and while they’re not explicitly labeled, the staff knew exactly what was vegan and were super helpful when I asked. I was able to get the vegetarian sandwich because the pesto was vegan and it was absolutely delicious! The portion was huge; I even had enough to take away for another meal. There’s no bathroom, but the service was so friendly and accommodating!

Uhh this was amazing! We had the sandwiches (great baguettes) and an açaí bowl, it was delicious. Big portions and friendly staff. Will probably be back soon!

Food was good but very expensive for the portion size and took a while to come. Got pancakes for half the price and tastier down the road from here. Its right on the road so there are lots of motorbikes driving up and down as well as dogs coming off the road.

Amora Cafe in Minca is legit. Hit it up twice—first for breakfast, where I got an omelette so good even Gordon Ramsay would've been proud. Went back for lunch and it was just as solid. The owner, Renata, is the real MVP. She's got a big smile and is super cool and helpful. My Spanish is pretty rough, but she was chill about it and didn't even sweat my broken-up sentences. Awesome food, awesome spot, awesome people. Can't go wrong.

Birdwatching Adventures Jungle Joe Minca Tours offers a 3-hour tour through the woods surrounding Minca, providing the opportunity to observe tropical birds such as toucans and hummingbirds. The tour includes a knowledgeable guide who is dedicated to showcasing as many bird species as possible. At the end of the trip, participants can enjoy coffee or hot chocolate while watching hummingbirds drink nectar and observing howler monkeys nearby.
Wonderful tour with our guide walking through nature and seeing so many species of birds. A great tour for nature lovers. Very informative, professional, and our guide was insightful. The team coordinated our transportation from Santa Marta that morning to and from the tour and was very helpful. I highly recommend if you want to connect with nature with a great team! We original had a tour the day before with the team doing coffee, waterfalls, and cocoa tour. We enjoyed the experience so much we booked the bird tour too. Probably one of our favourite parts of our Santa Marta trip.

Great experience, full day tour with Gustavo, everything as advertised. Gustavo is a biologist and provides amazing information during the day. Recommended!
Krzysztof T — Google review
Our guide Sadam (a freelancer) was very upbeat and knowledgeable. His English was great! I truly appreciated his precaution with the jungle to ensure no one gets bitten by touching things. (In the end he did, but he's built up resistance) Lovely walk up to the coffee plantation, we got a good intro and tasted and bought some coffee and chocolate. Dipped in the waterfall. Hiked to the jungle Joe eco lodge and had lunch and some time to chill. Two more presentations one about eco diversity, by a good speaker and biologist on the venomous animals. Another on cacao by Sadam which we really enjoyed as it involved making and eating chocolate.
Wouter B — Google review
We did a full-day tour in Minca with our guide Gustavo, who was amazing at switching between Spanish and English. He shared so much information about nature and biodiversity. We visited a coffee farm, had a tasting, and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Jungle Joe's Ecolodge. Unfortunately, we got caught in heavy rain (but that’s expected during rainy season), which made the tour a bit more challenging. Still, the cacao presentation and tasting with Sadam was another great experience.

I did the bird watching tour. I showed up just after 5:30am because I didn't book in advance and they kindly let me join. There were 24 of us and they split us into smaller groups of 8--which I was really happy about. The guide Gustavo was really great. He was really good at being able to spot birds and also pointing out where they were so we could see them. The highlight for me was seeing a few toucans, but we saw lots more than that. Thanks, Gustavo and for all your knowledge.

Jungle Joe’s bird-watching tour is a must-do if you’re in Minca! We went with Gustavo and had an amazing time. He was very knowledgeable and made sure we saw as much as possible. We ended up spotting toucans, macaws, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, kestrels, parakeets & many more!

So I booked the ‘Minca full day tour’ with this company via Masaya Hostel and it was truly the best day EVER! Gustavo was the most incredible tour guide - full of knowledge, wisdom, passion, and amazing energy. It was a 9 hour tour and I can’t express how grateful I am to have had such a magical experience from start to finish. Thank you so much Gustavo (and to our furry companion Gaviota!) for everything. A day I will always remember 💛💙❤️

If you're planning a trip to Minca, make sure to stop by the ATM Embassy Bank Minca, your ultimate one-stop shop in this charming mountain town. Nestled in the Santa Marta Mountains, Minca is a must-visit destination for its stunning scenery and vibrant local culture. At ATM Embassy, you'll find Rafael, who is incredibly helpful and speaks excellent English.
Rafael, who runs the Embassy, is so helpful. He speaks excellent English, can help sort out cash withdrawals, set up a cell phone and SIM card /local number for longer use. He also acts as a post office, and much more, in the Center of town, locals all use his services.

This one stop shop will help you with anything. Rafa the main guy in charge was so helpful in getting me claro minutes to call back home so I could take care of some banking I really needed to get done. He speaks English and is very honest as well as friendly. The lady who owns the shop out front organized moto taxis for us and even negotiated us a better price! 💶💷💳💰☎️📞📠🧾
Jared L — Google review
It is mentioned that the fee is 6% but this is incorrect. He charges 6% and above that let the conversion be done in the foreign currency without telling you. By doing this you get a bad conversion rate. This ends up in a fee of over 10%! After telling him this he was sorry but he could not reverse the payment..... It is a scam!
Daan T — Google review
I sent 14 postcards from this place and 4 months later they have still never arrived. I have heard from another tourist that they are quite scammy when it comes to the exchanges so try to avoid and use the other service in town.
Andreea B — Google review
Honest and straightforward, did payment in COP because it is cheaper for me, without me having to ask. So apparently better than the other ATMs
Louis G — Google review
SCAM! On his signs it says 5,5% surcharge, what is not mentioned is that he uses his own conversion, which doubles said surcharge. Instead of 30k COP i was billed 60k on my bank.
Robin M — Google review
Claims he charges 6%, while in fact it's around 12%. Afterwards he blames the bank exchange rate, while other transactions with the same bank do have a normal exchange rate. Seems not fair upfront in what he charges. I normally don't give Google ratings, but felt I had to share this. Please be aware!

ATM Embassy was a proper one stop shop for us in Minca. We stored our big bags there so we didn’t have to take them up to our hostel high up in the mountains, we got some cash out (the rate could be a little better but it’s the best option in Minca), and they arranged a cab for us which was by far the best price we’d been quoted anywhere. Rafa is also a very nice chap.

DO NOT RECOMMEND Members of staff very rude and they complained about me having allergen requirements. I do not recommend going if you have any dietary restrictions. Furthermore, the dishes were very small for the price paid. I paid nearly 30k for a tiny salad with added chicken. (They only gave 5 tiny bits of chicken for 9000 pesos) When we asked about the portion sizes to a staff member they were very rude and unhelpful with their response. There are so many other nice restaurants in Minca so definitely avoid and go elsewhere.

Freya L — Google review
unfortunately we were not happy with this tour. we were spoken to very rudely by reception, and our tour was 15 minutes late. The man giving the tour was nice, but the tour itself felt rushed and was a bit hard to understand what was going on. We’ve done coffee tours, which was more interactive, where we had a much better understanding of the process and it was a much better experience. The tour itself lasted 30 minutes despite being told it would be an hour to an hour and a half. It was not good value for money. Also we were told we would be able to make a chocolate bar, but really the guide made it and we were only given two truffles each and it felt uncomfortable asking for more even though we were under the impression we would have a whole bar each. I would not recommend this tour at all.

The pizza (vegetariana) was okay. A little to overcrowded with stuff. I didn‘t like the atmosphere there very much. The owner looks very unkempt and the stuff wasn‘t very friendly..

It’s like a small shop for local products out of common Colombian plants. The shop is owned by a very nice guy that definitely can tell you a lot of information about plants, their cultivation and the products made out of them. It’s a very good vibe their and the people around can furthermore tell a lot about the old, darker times of Minca. Also if you want to get the best chocolate cake on planet earth, you have to visit this place.
Florian L — Google review
This place is not very nice. We tried it out because of the good reviews and because we wanted to try some local chocolate products but it has quite a dodgy feel. Not nice atmosphere, no menu, staff not very friendly. I would not recommend or go back. On a side note.. To whoever is replying to the bad reviews on this shop. Maybe you should try a little bit harder to create a customer friendly experience and a bit less time making up stories and arguing with people on Google. Just a thought 😘

Cascada Oido del Mundo, also known as Ear of the World, is a popular waterfall in Minca that has gained attention from travelers and social media. It can be conveniently visited on a day trip along with the Marinka Waterfalls. The waterfall is located on the dusty road leading from Minca to the Marinka Waterfalls. While it requires a bit of walking to reach, the natural swimming pool and delightful waterfall make it worth the effort.

Great waterfall on the way to Los Pinos, it's very close to Minca. I recommend you to pay attention to the trails around the waterfall. This Burger + 12 little French fries is what you get when you order a vegetarian burger. Cannot recommend it. To be fair the coco Limonade was good. My friends pasta was maybe enough for a child, but not for an adult. One star for the price and the other one for the apology and that they took my burger back to the kitchen to upgrade it. Edited: -1 star because since then (4days ago) I have diarrhea

Restaurante Santisabella in Minca, Colombia may surprise you with its delicious Italian cuisine. Visitors rave about the exceptional pizza and pasta, which are considered some of the best even by those who have been to Italy multiple times. The jalapeno margaritas also come highly recommended. The restaurant is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the main junction and offers a variety of mouthwatering meals, including different kinds of ravioli that are definitely worth trying.
Nice restaurant with great food. We had dinner twice at this place, once pizza and one time the ribs. Price is pretty decent. Pizza was pretty nice, and after half a pizza I was already full. Ribs were also good. Lady which helped us didn't speak English but we made it work without problems. Payment both cash and card are possible. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

If you are craving GOOD Pizza then this is the place. The amount of flavor was so unexpected (I had a 1/2 Four Cheese & 1/2 Pesto). Also, please don’t judge the pizza by the photos… I had planned to take it to-go but after I sat down and took a bite., the rest became history. Family owned and very kind people with a terrace view overlooking the area. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did 🫶🏾 — Oh, also be patient for the pizza because it does take a while. They make it fresh - Update I came back tonight for another after I wrote the review so here are some photos of that lol

Very good rating on google so we decided to give it a try. Dishes were very good size, and a medium pizza is enough for two people while a large is good for 3. The pasta were flavorful, and large but sauce tasted a bit watery. Serví e was quick and attentive, and we had the whole upper floor to ourselves. Not the cheapest option in town. Oh also, the chicken fajita on the menu is just a burrito, so don't expect anything different. Overall, really good dinner.

Fantastic pizza and good choice of wine. It is to be noted that I was given a choice from three bottles of various red wine - on three price levels each being 10000 COP in difference… which I think to be superb giving the diner a choice in that circumstance. The pizza was a good size for a medium and enough that I took half away with me. Super experience and great taste!

Ravioli was better than the steak, which was better than the pizza, but everything was good overall. Service with no smiles, plastic cups and food took really long (bit more than 1h).
Cali M — Google review
The ravioli with spinach was tasty. The portion size really small (I'm not a big eater, however 10 ravioli pieces is not a lot). The staff looked like she rather be any other place, did not greet when I said good evening, and only said the mandatory gusto with an almost angry face (although I was polite and friendly in Spanish). Perhaps I was unlucky this night since there are also a lot of positive reviews. Note that this is the first time I'm writing a negative one. Would not recommend though. There are definitely more friendly places in Minca.

Fast food restaurant
Cattleya Fast Food & Souvenirs is an ideal spot for a quick meal after a tiring stroll from exploring the captivating Mincas waterfalls. Their arepas are among the finest I've tasted during my time in Colombia! The huevo y queso variant was scrumptious and appropriately proportioned for a midday snack. The coriander dip that accompanied each one was particularly delectable!
Delicious! Literally came here every single night for dinner. Lots of options on the menu for arepas and other bits. Portions are big! I was hungry and expected them to be small but I was stuffed from 2. Highly recommended the Reina Pepiada. The Minca was also good and full of veggies. Price was very fair for portion size and I can imagine the restaurant has a stunning view in the day time. Definitely recommend a visit.

It looked closed but that's because the entrance is to the left down an alleyway and then up the stairs to the top floor. Good little menu, really fresh and tasty. We had the wok rice (super tasty) and the creole bowl (a little bland but then I asked for some sauce and they brought me some 'salsa de casa' - like an avo-sour cream blend which made the dish perfect). Both super fresh and filling. Friendly service. Highly recommend.
D — Google review
Not exactly “fast” but fresh, flavoursome & great value. We had two margaritas for 30k and two arepa for 30k. They were exploding with fillings. The restaurant is nice and it was full when we went so took a little time but that was totally fine - we sipped our margaritas and enjoyed the view :).
Alexis B — Google review
I ate here on two occasions and had great experiences. Both time I got arepas because I love them, I got the “minca” and the “pabellon”, I preferred the latter , both were very tasty. This is was my favorite savory meal in minca

5 stars all around. We ate here three times during our time in Minca! The food is so fresh and flavourful. For lunch we tried the 2 for $30k arepas and they did not disappoint 🤤. A super filling and flavourful meal. Also the homemade papas fritas were delicious. You definitely have to try this place!!

Must go place in Minca! The best arepa I have had in 3 weeks in Colombia! Super juicy, ingredients are super fresh and they have many options (catering also to vegans and vegetarians). Small place led by locals, it’s the best way to immerse yourself in the culture of Minca. Please try it!

The best arepa you will eat. I ordered the Minca and it was ginormous and so reasonably priced. Family run business super sweet

If you're seeking an authentic local dining experience, look no further than Restaurante Doña Ana. Nestled alongside a picturesque river, this charming eatery offers a delightful menu featuring traditional Colombian dishes like Sancocho—a hearty soup brimming with various meats, potatoes, and cassava—as well as Tamales Tolimenses made from corn dough filled with rice, pork, chicken, and a boiled egg.
Had the beef steak meal, it was pretty good, thin but tender, delicious seasoning. Reasonable price.

Great experience having lunch here, its right by the river. The food is staple colombian, very well prepared. Prices are reasonable

This restaurant has a great location! It is next to a beautiful clear river, in which you can take a dip in to cool down while you wait for your food. I had a delicious Colombian chicken tamal, which w as a meal in itself, no need for additional sides. Staff was also very nice.

Restaurant Marhaba Minca is a charming spot located in the heart of Minca, Colombia. It offers a delightful mix of Middle Eastern flavors and dishes, including falafel plates and tasty pizzas. The cozy ambiance allows guests to enjoy their meals on wooden stools while overlooking the bustling street. Visitors rave about the incredible food, with highlights such as crunchy falafel salad, smoky baba ghanoush, and smooth hummus.
We find this restaurant on google and Omg the food so yummy and service was very good they let you feel like home . Tasty food and delicious its a very good to give it a try Price is responsible for that excellent food Thanks

Friendly staff and a cute place to sit and watch the hummingbirds. Food was good, but portions are maybe a bit small for the price. The baba ganoush dip in particular could have been served with more pita/bread (ratio was off). Would recommend the fattoush

Delicious hummus and garlic pitta and a really great falafel salad with some lovely spices. Only minus was the aubergine was undercooked. Apart from that, great!
Benjamin T — Google review
The food was average and I think that the hummus is not homemade.
Marina B — Google review
Cute spot in town with their versión of lebanese food. The shared plate was definitely big enough for two people and the humus was awesome. The shwarma was very nice and a medium is a good size lunch. Our friend really liked the chef ;)
Samuel D — Google review
Excellent libanese food! It's affordable and has an amazing quality of the food! It's the best middle East restaurant we had in all Latin America! Totally recommended!
Antoine C — Google review
Based on my two visits, Marhaba should be well above the 4.3 it currently has (coming from a big fan of middle eastern food). The bread for the shawarma wraps is as good as any flat bread I’ve ever eaten. Still thinking about it.
Kieran B — Google review
This was INCREDIBLE! the owner very kindly accommodated us even though it was quite late and the food arrived super quickly. The falafel salad was crunchy and soft, the baba ghanoush was smoky and the hummus was so smooth. The almond rice genuinely changed my life and it came to around 50k pp for a massive mezze and some delicious red wine. I’m still dreaming about this meal 😍😍😍😍😍

The area is known for its diverse ecosystem, making it an ideal spot for wildlife enthusiasts. Visitors can expect to see birds such as the Sierra Nevada Brushfinch, Santa Marta warbler, Santa Marta Parakeet, and various types of hummingbirds.
Oto took us on a tour of the Vitoria coffee house and Calendaria chocolate finca. He was very well organized and his passion for nature was evident. His extensive knowledge of birds and fauna was impressive. He was able to answer any question and always added extra information as to make our day even more interesting. Oto’s English is good and he is very easy to understand.
Gerry R — Google review
We had the best time on the bird watching tour. It was 2 hours of non stop sightings including two varieties of a Toucans! Otto spoke great English and showed us so many natural wonders in addition to the beautiful birds. The tour is accessible to all abilities and we felt like 2 hours was the perfect amount of time for our attention spans. If I ever go back to Minca, I would do this tour again. Thanks Otto for an awesome birding experience!

If you're a bird enthusiast, the Birdwatching Minca Tours are an absolute must when visiting the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. This stunning region boasts the highest diversity of endemic birds in Colombia, making it a paradise for both novice and experienced bird watchers. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience under your belt, there’s something for everyone here. During my visit, I had the pleasure of speaking with Richard, who was incredibly helpful in identifying various species I encountered.
I spoke to Richard just to ask him to identify a bird I’d seen, he was extremely helpful and afterwards I seen the tours he operates I decided to go on both the night wildlife and the bird watching tour both were excellent one of my favourite days in Colombia. The tour guide Elking was extremely knowledgeable and great at his job

Museum
Museo Minca, situated in the heart of the town and located behind Cafe Minca en route to El Mirador, is a new initiative promoting collaboration between tourists and locals. It stands as the sole historically and culturally integrative activity in the area. Visitors can enjoy a complimentary entry and opt for a 45-minute guided tour available in English or Spanish, with donations contributing to community development projects.
This is one of the best “museums” we have visited throughout our 6-weeks of travel through Colombia . This passionate couple is just great and shares excellent insights how the city of Minca has changed in such a short time frame. Thank you very much for conserving the history and ensuring that we can learn more about this beautiful country :-) To everyone visiting Minca: please make sure to stop by to learn more about the country you are visiting and to support this place as well as local projects to conserve a local experience!!
Simon S — Google review
Very interesting place about the history of Minca, the indigenous groups and coffee!
Mathis R — Google review
We absolutely loved the museum. You'll learn about the history of Minca, starting with the indigenous people over coffee, marijuana, guerrillas, and paramilitaries. It's an interesting story and you definitely miss out on the rich history of the area if you don't visit the museum. Also, we liked the story-telling approach which is quite unique. It's donation based and you are giving for a really good cause. Keep up the great work you do in making the stories accessible to a wider audience, Shannon and Manuel!
Michael S — Google review
The museum itself is just two rooms with pictures on the walls, but the tour Shannon gave us was an extremely interesting and captivating story of the varied and at times surprisingly bloody history of Minca. Hugely recommended to learn something about the place that goes beyond the touristy facade. Free but they ask for a donation (which flows back into the community).
Hans G — Google review
Must do in Minca! The most interesting and insightful piece of history I got in Colombia. Shannon shared so much information about the local community, its history, and the effect of the upcoming tourism. Must visit if you want to understand more about the country you are visiting.
Michelle M — Google review
Absolutely incredible! I've been to a few history museums during my time in Colombia and I can say that this, hands down, has been the most stunning one so far. Shannon was a great guide and told us incredible stories of everything the village has been through. This should be on everyone's list of things to do in Minca!!
Kristoffer L — Google review
This was a life changing experience. I have visited many museums and this by far was the most personal eye opening museum I have ever been to. 1. This is the true history of Minca and allows you to get an in depth understanding of how Minca started to today. 2. It is so well researched, I was truely blown away. 3. There was such passion for the history of this region Please visit. It will truly open your eyes on what shaped Minca into what it is today.
Rachel R — Google review
Strongly recommend. This was one of the best, and definitely the most important thing we did in Minca. This place is a labor of love, run by an American and a Colombian who have taken it upon themselves to do an insane amount of research and conduct extensive interviews with local residents. It’s a humble place, but on our visit, Shannon (the American co-founder) lit up the room telling us very moving stories about the history of the area and the local indigenous groups. It’s more of a storytelling project than a traditional museum. Minca has a riveting and deeply troubling history and it’s absolutely essential to understand it if you’re visiting here as a foreigner. Otherwise you will leave with a simplistic - even misinformed - understanding of Minca. Make visiting the Museo a priority.

A Magical Mountain Retreat Inspired by Ghibli Staying at this house in Minca felt like stepping into a Studio Ghibli film. Every corner is thoughtfully decorated — from hidden Kodamas among the plants to charming artwork that creates a peaceful, whimsical atmosphere. You can feel the love and care in every detail. Cleanliness was outstanding. The rooms smelled fresh, the sheets were spotless, and every shared area (bathrooms, kitchen, terraces) was always sparkling clean. The outdoor jacuzzi was an absolute highlight. Surrounded by lush nature and birdsong, it was the perfect place to relax after a hike. At night, soaking under the stars with the gentle mountain breeze was simply unforgettable. The area is incredibly peaceful — no city noise, just pure nature. It’s the ideal place to rest, disconnect, and reconnect with yourself. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Japanese aesthetics, wants to experience something unique, and is looking for a truly special stay in Minca. We’ll definitely be back!

Average stay! We booked a double room with private bathroom via wassap with the hostel owner. We were in touch prior to arrival and informed him exactly when we would arrive. When we did, our room was given to someone else and the only room left was with a shared bathroom. He then offered us a lower price for the room but it was more than the price on booking! Very disappointing and unprofessional. The hostel is more of a house with three rooms which was relaxing. Our room was large and clean. There is a kitchen which was great for cooking. The hostel is a 5-10 min walk to town. The jacuzzi did not work for the 3 days that we were there.

Chiquita Brava Bar and Restaurant in Minca is a must-visit destination for those seeking to disconnect and escape from their daily routines. This unique establishment offers delectable cuisine and exceptional service, making it an ideal place to frequent with loved ones. The bar serves refreshing cold beers and potent cocktails, including the renowned Margarita Brava and Pina Colada that are unparalleled in Colombia, if not the entire world.
As the other reviews mention, this place houses Casa de la Pasta. The portions were huge, the carbonara was delicious and the pasta itself clearly homemade. On top of this, the service was amazing. The waitress was so kind, and so patient with our basic Spanish. She even taught us some new words. Also, we visited during a power outage and they still managed to serve cold drinks and provide a full menu. I wish we could have visited again.

Nonni Pizzeria Minca is a hidden gem located in the charming town of Minca near Santa Marta. The pizzas are described as some of the best, even by those from pizza meccas like NYC. They are smaller pies cut into 4 slices, and patrons recommend ordering multiple if you have a big appetite or want to share. The traditional Italian-style pizzas are cooked in a stone oven and boast delicious ingredients and flavors.
10/10! Pizza is amazing, staff is so kind, prices are great! Cutest courtyard seating area and also overlooks a soccer field with local kids playing, which is an unmatched experience!

I’m not usually the type to leave reviews, but I have to give credit where credit is due. This pizza place absolutely deserves the praise. The ambience is warm, welcoming, and perfect whether you're out with friends or just grabbing a solo bite. Now, the pizza is absolutely delicious. Perfectly crisp crust, flavorful toppings, and just the right amount of cheese. You can tell they care about quality in every bite. Highly recommend it. I will definitely be back.

Delicious pizzas! We got the margarita, diavola and prosciutto pizzas and they were all superb. Staff were very friendly. Got to watch some kids playing football while we waited. Just be aware that they only do pizzas.
Abi A — Google review
I left disappointed with this place. The pizzas were very small, lacked key ingredients, and were overpriced for what was served. While the staff was friendly and the restaurant’s décor was pleasant, the food simply didn’t live up to expectations.
MJ “ — Google review
I’m pretty picky about pizza, but Nonni Pizzeria completely won me over. The Margarita had a bright, authentic sauce and perfectly melted cheese, while the Pizza Bianca was creamy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The crust stood out with that classic wood-fired texture I’ve missed. Warm, attentive service and a cozy setting make Nonni Pizzeria feel like a little slice of Italy in Minca. Easy 10 out of 10.

Honestly a bit confused by all the glowing reviews. It was a cute little spot, fine service and quite basic/mediocre pizza. It is good in a way that’s it made authentically in a pizza oven however, I found that it lacked flavour. Not sure i would come back for the price and portion size with that quality.

This pizza restaurant in Minca has only just recently opened, so we thought we’d give it a try. It was great! The pizza dough was delicious, not too thick and not too thin. The ingredients were all super fresh and tasty. I had the pizza with prosciutto and arugula, and my partner had the diavolo. The outdoor terrace is lovely with a view of a mountain to the west and the neighbourhood soccer field., which is fun. One particularly nice thing about the location is the cool breeze that comes down from the hill, which we found refreshing after a day of hiking. The staff are super friendly and attentive. Definitely 5 stars for this place.

Restaurant
RESTAURANTE TAGUA BAR in Minca offers a great dining option with well-executed, authentic Colombian dishes at reasonable prices. Unlike other establishments that try to be upscale or serve international cuisine, RESTAURANTE TAGUA BAR stays true to its roots and delivers delicious meals. The restaurant also boasts a pleasant terrace where patrons can enjoy their food while observing the lively street life.
The name was changed, but the food is amazing, the staff is helpful

Good option to eat in Minca. Typical Colombian dishes which are well prepared for a fair price ; many of the other places are either wanna-be fancy or just have international kitchen. The terrace is also quite nice and you can observe street life whilst eating. I ate there twice during my stay and I was happy. Thanks :)

The food took long to get service. The fish was small, the vegetarian sandwich was so so. And the patacones we ordered as was not serving when we were going to finish dinner, we asked to cancel the service and the waiter said he forgot to tell us there were no more.

Casa Loma Minca is a popular choice for backpackers, offering a variety of accommodations from dorms and huts to private rooms. The hostel provides homemade vegetarian meals at reasonable prices, attracting both guests and visitors from the area. Situated on a hillside with picturesque views of the village, Casa Loma Minca also offers activities such as yoga classes and birdwatching tours.
To start with: the view is amazing!!🤩 The climb up was tough, but we were welcomed with a cold glass of water and the view of the hostel, which made it 100% worth it. Everybody in the hostel is super chill and are mainly there for the hikes, so during the day you have the view all for yourself ;) When we arrived there was a jazz show and we didn’t knew we liked that until we heard them play! An amazing set with the sunrise. All in all really worth the money and we even extended our stay.
Troy W — Google review
Absolutely stunning hostel with the best views! Getting there is a bit difficult as you walk up steep stairs but the view is very rewarding. I stayed only one night but had a great sunset. The hammocks are nice and I slept well but they are very close to one another. Large lockers for bags. Staff and guests were friendly and it felt social. Everything on the menu sounds delicious and it is all vegetarian. The brownie is made with black beans but tastes delicious! I did not like the vegetarian lasagna at all but others seemed to enjoy it. I did the bird watching tour at 6am with Otto and we saw a variety of birds including toucans! We also saw squirrels and spiders! I would stay here again and recommend to fellow backpackers!

Beautiful location, but that’s about the only good thing. We were placed in a room above the bar, made out of the thinnest wood and open sides. Which means you can hear every single word spoken around the room and in the bar. The work staff started talking really loud without any sense of awareness at 6:00, which means this will wake you up every single morning. A bad nights sleep is nearly guaranteed. This is something which has been said in tons of reviews already so the only conclusion is that the staff just doesn’t care. Which is in line with their general behaviour, just a general disinterest in the customers and the place. Easy fixes like fixing a disconnected mosquito net with a simple nail aren’t being done. We were there for 4 days and not a single day did the wifi work. Upon arrival we asked about it, they didn’t mention it themselves, and they said it’d be fixed next morning. This was the same lie they told people staying there the day before. So for atleast 5 days there was no wifi, with nobody ever showing any hurry in trying to fix it. The designated wifi hut which should alleviate this issue was also without wifi the whole time, despite being a whole different system (starlink versus a normal router).

Our first night we had an issue with dogs coming into our tent due to their being no gates/door to the tent. However the next morning when we mentioned it to the reception staff they immediately fitted a gate so the problem was solved. The sunsets were amazing, the food was good and we really appreciated the staff fixing the gate so quickly!
Jack V — Google review
Beautiful spot for sunset but would recommended staying somewhere else. It’s a beautiful spot but wouldn’t recommend staying overnight, especially in the room next to reception . Super loud into the night then early in the morning too so tricky if you’re trying to get a good sleep.
Lucy G — Google review
Review based solely on RESTAURANT not hostel: We went here for lunch, the way up was difficult and although the view was pretty I didn’t feel it made up for the trek. Once we arrived we started to order our lunch. There were many things missing from the menu. The dishes took really long. Overall wouldn’t suggest as a lunch a spot.
Stephanie C — Google review
BED BUGS BEWARE. Lovely communal area with gorgeous sunset views every day and staff are nice and tried to help us with our problems. Unfortunately the rooms and bathrooms are not up to scratch. When we arrived to our room it was a run down hut with holes in the roof and a bees nest in the side of the door. The room is tiny with nowhere to put your things and the floor is dirty. The staff offered us another room for the night due to the bees but when we returned the following night having moved our stuff in there midday we discovered bed bugs on the towel and bedding. We removed our things and got offered another room. We then discovered bed bugs in that room as well. There were so many we saw them crawling around outside the room. We got refunded for 2 nights but lost the Hostelworld deposit. We were disappointed that they didn’t offer anything complimentary and went on to charge us for a couple of beers we had had. We had to pay to get all of our clothes washed and the only hotel that was available at short notice was a lot more expensive. It ruined the time in Minca and left us feeling really upset as the issue will follow us round Colombia.
Hannah C — Google review
Nice place but very much a party place. Both nights music was super loud! Like ridiculously loud Until late at night! Especially if you end up in the dorm room above the common area. You then get woken up again around 6am from the staff cleaning. There needs to be a warning with staying in the dorms. I was not aware that I would get barely any rest here. I've been travelling for a long time and stayed at many hostels and this was the least respectful with the music. I hope they change that soon. I get it's a social hostel but theres being social and then theres being a night club in the jungle. I would not stay here again unfortunately

Restaurant
El Rincon De Toño is a charming restaurant nestled in the heart of Minca, alongside the picturesque Minca River. While not specifically catering to vegans, this local gem offers a refreshing break from the typical Western tourist-oriented dining options found in town. Guests can enjoy watching hummingbirds on the terrace and even let children play in the water while soaking up the pleasant atmosphere and music. The generous portions of delicious food are complemented by their famous soup, perfect for sharing.
They made a juice consisting many fruits and it was good. Ask them to garnish it with shredded coconut too! Yum.

(Translated by Google) We waited an hour for food in a place full of mosquitoes that bit us all over our bodies and dogs. I suppose the score is due to the beautiful surroundings of the river, because the quality of the restaurant, as well as its hygiene, leaves a lot to be desired. If you care about your time and your health, I would only go there to have a beer. (Original) Esperamos una hora por la comida en un lugar lleno de mosquitos que nos picaron por todo el cuerpo y perros. Hostel
Minca Seasons is a budget-friendly accommodation located in a peaceful area just a short walk from the bustling center of Minca. The property offers non-smoking rooms, with the second-floor rooms featuring terraces that provide stunning views of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains. Guests have praised the friendly and helpful owner, Luis, as well as the pleasant staff who prepare breakfast. Some guests recommend booking a room with more storage space and note that sound travels easily between rooms.
Perfect place in Minca! Location 10/10 - 10 min by foot to the center but “far” enough to have a crazy view and calm night without the crazy noise from other hostals and the city center Attention 12/10 - Yolanda and Ceci are the two sweet sister that run the hotel. From the very beginning they will Make everything in her power to make you feel like home. Extremely comfortable rooms with great view and very clean installations We were very sad we couldn’t stay more as Yolanda and Ceci did make our stay in Minca very special

Luis was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay, it was much appreciated. The only downside to consider (especially if you're in the bottom rooms) is that the walls/ceilings are quite thin. We could hear everything from above quite loudly with the worst being at 2am when the people above arrived and couldn't really sleep until they did.

Amazing location, about 10 minutes walk from the center of Minca. Place where we enjoyed the nature and amazing view from the terrace of our room. The owner was very kind and the ladies who prepared breakfasts for us each morning were really nice too. The only thing which we would suggest would be to put to the room some more shelves where can guest put their stuff :)

Excellent! The chef knows what he is doing. The food was amazing, the best meal we had in Colombia - and we had some really good meals! The staff was also very sweet and attentive. Everyone was happy with their meal although I have to say that my beef with chocolate sauce was amazing.

A must try when in Minka! The service was great! Staff was friendly and welcoming (even pets). You can see the cooks preparing your food while you wait. The seating area is small so at times you may have to wait to be seated, but it gives you time to check out the merchandise outside and chat with the vendors outside. The area before the seating area is creatively decorated, so be sure to enjoy that as well! They were very accommodating to my vegan request and the food was wonderful! The meat eaters were also very pleased with their food. You can see the river running on the side of the seating area, but you can hear the river running while enjoying your meal! The food was great, the staff was friendly the vibe was perfect! We LOVED it and highly recommend visiting when you're in the area!

Got here a little late, but was still kindly ushered in by warm and friendly people and practically had the place to myself. I only had one night in town and they’d be closed rest of my time so rushed over. Had been craving asados carbon for weeks. Their setup is awesome as well! It is mainly an outdoor downstairs patio right on a flowing stream. Got a (flank or skirt🤔)steak and chicken fire grill dish. Both were cooked beyond perfection. Chicken breast* juicy beyond belief with a mouth watering tropical sauce(can’t remember the fruit) that I would eat off the floor if I had to 😅 Steak was inhale-able and melting tender with a perfect chimichury accompanied served on a hot plate. If you’re in Minca and like protein Bururake is heaven in paradise Incredible spot!

I almost missed it because you have to walk in and go quite far back to get to the restaurant. Don't miss it, it's REALLY worth it. The chef did an amazing job on the Tropical pork tenderloin. If you love grilled meat, you will love this chef 😅 The sauce was so unique and a perfect blend of the fruits and ginger. The server, was very lovely and attentive. I saw 3 more things on the menu that I want to try, so I'll definitely be back!

Really a nice place in one of the side streets to the very touristy main roads in minca. It only has 5 tables or so, is not crowded and really cozily located next to the kitchen /the grill so you can watch the chef at work. The food was great and the amount was satisfying, even for bigger eaters, like me. It's a bit meat focused so vegan or vegetarians might not feel to comfortable here.

La Casa De La Pasta is a must-visit spot in Colombia, offering the best homemade fresh pasta. The friendly staff and cozy setting make for a delightful dining experience. Guests rave about the generous portions and affordable prices, with some even returning for multiple meals during their stay. The menu features a variety of mouthwatering pasta dishes, including diavola fettucini, carbonara, and ravioli.
Big portions and delicious fresh pasta. We had the pesto and Napolitana saus, both vegetarian and delicious. Unfortunately I didn't have space left for dessert 😀. Somehow the pins and reviews seem to confuse two different restaurants. Not sure how this works. But I definitely recognise the menu pictures on this location pin. Just not exactly the location. We sat at the top floor with a view of the surrounding. We paid about 93 000 COP for two main dishes and 2 fresh juices P.s. Plan B is a sustainable living and permaculture sanctuary nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains. They offer diverse workshops, including farm-to-table cooking featuring conscious methods like fermentation and edible plant knowledge, as well as manifestation sessions with cacao ceremonies, meditation, dance, and brunch. While not exclusively vegan, Plan B provides an immersive experience in permaculture gardening and sustainable food practices.
I did the “From Farm To Table” Workshop at Plan B and loved it. Pim and Anne created a beautiful place, and their approach to create a permaculture farm is very inspirational. The lunch was amazing, rounding up a great experience in the nature of the Sierra Nevada.

WOW! This was by far one of our best experiences we’ve had at our whole Colombia trip. Pim was so knowledgeal and taught us so many things about permaculture, our nature and fermentation. It was always like „Wow, I had no idea” which made this whole experience so special for us. The time has flown by and we really enjoyed our time at the farm. In our opinion an absolutely must do in Minca. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

My partner and I had an amazing experience at Plan B It first started with a beautiful tour of the farm and he explained Permaculture and how it works. There were so many plants, trees, fruit, vegetables and animals to see. We finished off with an amazing 4 course meal that was cooked by all the local produce that they grow. The food was amazing and they made the space feel very welcoming. We are sort of questions and they were always open to answering whatever we had To ask we also got to have some honey tasting and looked at how the bees lived Overall 10 out of 10 experience Thank you so much to Pim and Annie xx

Our experience at the Plan B “Farm-to-Table” workshop was genuinely the BEST food/farming experience we’ve ever had anywhere in the world! It is rare to find people and a place that hold a deeply rooted, heart-centered integrity that carries through from start to finish with pure intention and soul-driven purpose. It is clear that Pim and Anne care deeply about what they do, and their passion for their land and the food, as well as for serving their local community is undeniably felt through their services. Both Anne and Pim have so much embodied knowledge and offer unique insights into growing, harvesting, and preparing food with meaning. We felt so lovingly guided and cared for throughout the entire tour. We were fortunate enough to do the tour with just the two of us, so the experience was very intimate. The diversity and abundance of food here is magnificent! Learning about the special “angel bees” and their medicinal honey was awe-inspiring; truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We feel so honored to have been able to experience such rare beauty on this land, and our hearts were wide open by the end. The food and drinks prepared by Anne were absolutely incredible! We were able to truly learn about the plants, the flowers, and the food itself. This is absolutely a “must-do” during your stay in Minca. It is not to be missed!

I did the “Farm to Table” experience (happens every Wednesday and Saturday) with Pim and Anne at Plan B. It was very informative and inspiring. Pim took us around the farm and explained the agricultural process. He is very passionate about the integrity of permaculture which shows in his work. Anne curated an amazing 4 course meal from the garden. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and the flavors she showcased were unreal. It’s an experience that I highly recommend. Thank you Pim and Anne for the amazing experience.

Today we experienced a highlight of our trip to South America, even though it wasn't a typical tourist attraction. We did the "farm to table" workshop and were very impressed. It started with a tour of the permaculture gardens with lots of explanations and tips. Then we were allowed to look at the stingless bees and taste honey and, after an introduction to the world of fermentation, we prepared and ate three vegan dishes together using ingredients from the garden. It was actually several workshops in one, which once again showed us how diverse and ingenious nature is and how much more we could do with it and for it. Thank you for the great day and the motivation :)

An amazing experience in Minca, can’t recommend enough. Pim and Anne were beautiful hosts and it was so interesting learning about the permaculture farm and history, organic produce, bees and honey and then making a delicious colourful lunch. An experience you couldn’t get at home! Thanks

We went to Plan B for the Farm to Table workshop. First we got a tour of the farm and gardens from Pim, which was super interesting. Then we learned more about the stingless bees and their honey! After that we enjoyed an amazing 3 course vegetarian lunch and got introduced to some fermentation methods. Everything was really interesting and Pim and Anne were super friendly and kind. Thanks for everything!!

nice farm to check the coffee process, good coffee and nice experience. It is evident that the main business is not the tourism, but the production so the experience is quite short and cant be compared with the coffe region farm experiences. The personal looks very busy because the same in charge of the crop must to guide the tours. The property needs new paint.

Restaurant
RESTAURANTE ASADERO CAMARITA in Colombia has provided an exceptional dining experience for many years. Initially, the establishment had humble beginnings with a plastic picnic table and an aluminum roof, lacking a proper building and staff. However, through hard work and dedication, the owner has transformed it into a remarkable destination. Visitors continually return to this establishment as it has become a renowned fixture in Colombia.
Amazing experience , the owner is a great representation of Colombian people : friendly , happy and inviting. The food and a special dessert were both amazing 😉

Iconic restaurant with an amazing selection of smoked meats. The meat master showed us his setup and we were not disappointed. The quality of the meal, size, and service made it a great experience. The owners are really kind and very attentionate! Like the other reviews pointed out, ask for a desert :) Take bug spray as there are, like in all restaurants in the area, little bugs that can be bothersome

What about a 85 yo man still working and happy as a puppy because smokes ganja since the age of 12 and swear on it that’s what keeps him young sounds to you? You need to try the Picadas which is a big platter made of a little bit of everything. And then for dessert you can get one of his magic brownies to take away or eat on the spot. Very secluded and popular with the locals.

I live in Minca and we love this place. I have been to nearly all the restaurants in Minca, but this is the best. The food is mainly grilled meats, yuca, potatoes and a delicious chicken soup. The owner is sweet, friendly and welcoming to all those who visit. Since it is so popular the many tables are full, but we have always waited. It is rustic, but charming in character.
