Discover the intriguing history of Canada's Cold War at the Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum, a massive underground bunker in Ottawa. Originally built to protect government officials during a nuclear attack, this 4-level, 100,000 square foot facility now offers visitors a glimpse into this pivotal period of history. Explore recreated workspaces and living quarters equipped with vintage technology and cryptographic areas. The museum also hosts annual events like 'Incident in the Bunker' for an immersive experience.
This is one of the coolest places to explore in Canada. Visiting feels like stepping into a frozen time capsule. The atmosphere is very retro, with bright colours on the cabinets and flooring that create a cheerful vibe. The history behind the place is fascinating. We spent about two hours exploring all four levels on a self-guided tour. This was my second visit, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The first (top) level is accessible, but we couldn’t take the stroller any further since there are no elevators. Moving between levels requires stairs.
Jen S — Google review
Very interesting and informative museum that was once used during cold war and has jot been used since the early 90s. It has level 4 underground, seems simple from outside but it will bring you to new dimensions.
FilCan J — Google review
The amount of Canadian history crammed into this facility is amazing. It’s extremely well laid out and very very informative. We learned a lot about the Cold War era from the Canadian perspective. I highly recommend this facility. The staff were very friendly and the price is quite reasonable.
Devin H — Google review
I’ve visited some pretty unusual places before, but this one ranks near the top! The sheer scope of this “secret” facility — built in less than 18 months back in 1959 — is absolutely mind-blowing. The Diefenbunker offers a fascinating glimpse into Cold War history, and it’s incredibly well-preserved. Our tour guide, Graham, a retired CSIS IT professional, was a superb storyteller. His anecdotes, humour, and passion really made the experience come alive — the perfect guide for a place that was never supposed to exist! If you’re anywhere near Ottawa, this is a must-see.
BJ G — Google review
This is a great activity. An amazing piece of Canadian history. More than a museum considering the facility was actually in service up until early 1990s. It is a huge complex and there lots to see, and get lost. I would recommend a guided tour, but planning enough time before or after to roam around on your own too.
Stéphane L — Google review
Great museum, I've been coming to this area for decades and only last year found our how close the bunker was to us. If you like history museums then this one is a must see. Mostly intact and well preserved, it will take about 3 hrs to walk, see and read the contents of the 4 floors. Lots of free parking and you can go have an awesome lunch at the Cheshire Cat just down the road.
Paul M — Google review
This is trip to the past to understand better today’s events. Exiting walk trough the rooms where could be made so important decisions. It has much information about Cold War and the world of those years. Great museum which has to be attended!
Olena K — Google review
Absolutely awesome tour! The bunker is in a time warp and the guided tour was extremely insightful on how soldiers and high command dignitaries as well as commanders operated in the bunker. The technology of running air and water systems was out of this world for the era of time. I would highly recommend the tour and a must see when visiting the Ottawa region! 10 stars if I could give it!

A very quaint and unique store!! I've always found lots of original gifts at reasonable prices. Loved the atmosphere of the new location however I did not enjoy the lingering fresh cigarette fumes on the sales clerk and throughout the store. Unfortunately I cut my visit short before deciding on what gifts I wanted to choose. Hopefully better next time I visit.

Our favourite ice cream stop! The milkshakes here are so tasty — creamy, fresh, and always made with care. We often come back again and again. It’s a perfect little place for a summer treat! Thank you to the team at The Carp South Creamery!

By far the best ice cream I’ve ever had. The shop is run by locals and the service is amazing. It’s located In a very friendly neighbourhood and the has a nice outdoor seating area. They have a diverse array of flavours which are always rotating, but they also keep their most liked flavours all year round. My personal favourite flavours are Lemon Lavender, Slowpoke, and Vanilla SkOreo. You can also buy ice cream all year round in the small Shop section. Overall, this is for sure my favourite ice cream place. I would recommend this to anyone who happens to be in the area.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE! Highly recommended for ice cream lovers in and out of the carp area! Today I was served a delicious Raspberry Sorbet from a very upbeat and happy worker, I believe her name was Hanna. The ice cream was actually made with real raspberries and gave me one of the best ice cream experience in a long long time. I will definitely come back! Ice cream devoured

This business was sold recently and it is starting to show. This was the place I recommended to so many people, and now I am left wondering. The issues are small but, they do cumulate. For instance, staff who handle money should not handle food without washing their hands. You run out of ingredients like whipped cream or cherries, they do sell in grocery stores. You should rotate the flavour more often, like they used to be under the previous owner. You want to make the place look professional, give a good clean up to the service deck and dispose of the dead plants. As I said, small things, but for new clients, you won't get a second chance to make a first impression. In the meantime, I will return but I will look for improvements.

We stopped and had ice cream and it was great. Flavours we're all tasty for the 3 different ones we tried. EDIT: although I originally had an issue with a tub of bubblegum icecream and had been unable to reach the company, they have since reached out and provided a refund. I'm updating my review to better reflect my thoughts on the ice cream itself.

Very good ice cream! We requested the small cones, 1 scoop, and they were pretty filling. My son initially wanted the ice cream sandwich, but they only had ice cream tacos, and they are worth trying. Nice staff!

Nestled in Ottawa's trendy The Glebe neighborhood, Alice's Village Cafe is a cozy hub offering carefully sourced coffee drinks and casual eats, from paninis to poutine and breakfast options. This contemporary vegetable and fermentation-focused restaurant, located at 40 Adeline Street, provides an intriguing vegan dining experience curated by award-winning Chef Briana Kim. While using ingredients that push the boundaries of veganism, the ethos and practice remain undeniably plant-based.
I would only say 4.75 since there is only one restroom for an average of 30 ppl The food was really good and fresh. Mom loved her coffee and I really enjoyed my latte. They had oat milk and glutten free options which is nice. And the glutten free bread was actually quite good. Decorative piano which I always love to see. Very popular place! Option to sit or to-go Waiters were super nice I would definitely come back if I lived nearby.

It's rated among the top cafes in Ottawa. The food and ambience is really good. If you are looking for a good brunch place, I absolutely recommend it. They have a good extensive menu to choose from with many veg and gluten free options.

We went a few weeks ago prior to going to the museum. Absolutely brilliant spot. Food was incredible. I’m still thinking about that mushroom soup. Bread was so fresh. 10/10 highly encourage everyone to go! The only negative is the waitress was very slow. However, I wouldn’t deduct a star because I think she was the only one working.
Tara C — Google review
We were 5 stopping in for a late lunch before going to the vineyard. They were very busy so service was a bit slow but we really all enjoyed our meals. Worth the waits. We all had their salads (house or garden) and they were unique and very tasty. Some of us had the flatbread and a couple the tuna melts. We will go back for sure.

Everything was delicious and cozy! The food was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The service was kind and attentive — the staff made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere is warm and homey, a place you want to stay and relax. We’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend!

Cute little spot in Carp. Buddy and I stopped for brunch. Alittle bit of a wait ( totally cool) but definitely was from a lack of front staff as there was seats avaliable the whole time we waited. Once seated, the waitress was friendly enough, nothing extra. The food and spicy Chai latte was good enough, I had the breakfast wrap which was pretty good. Prices were expected, not expensive but not cheap either. Would stop back in if ever in the area as their select weekday burger menu is intriguing.
Blaino M — Google review
Have only tried their coffee yet. Got good vibes from the cafe too. Will visit again for some food.
Samridhi — Google review
My husband and I visited Alice’s for the first time, and it will be our last. The service was mediocre, but what was worse was our drinks! My husband ordered a London fog that tasted like mostly hot water with a hint of tea, I ordered a Nutella hot chocolate which had no taste as well, especially not of Nutella.. and then to be charged almost $10 for the hot chocolate is ridiculous. Their whole drink menu is overly priced, and for it to not even taste good. Waste of hard earned money.

Flea & Street Markets
Nestled just west of Ottawa in the charming village of Carp, the Carp Farmers' Market stands out as Eastern Ontario's largest producer-based market. Since its establishment in 1990, it has become a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike, drawing crowds every weekend from April to October (excluding the Carp Fair weekend). The market is renowned for its diverse selection of local produce and goods, including the region's famous maple syrup available in various delightful forms.
Carp Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm, from May to October. There are many vendors to choose what you are looking for. They sell a good variety of fresh homegrown vegetables, homemade baked goods, honey, candles, wine, soaps, and a variety of other things for your home. Thier is entertainment (music), and there are plenty of food vendors if you get hungry. Today, I tried a jumbo hot hot dog with fried onions, I kid you not. It was the best hot dog I have had in a long time. Every Saturday from now on, I will try a different dish of food and add it to my comments. They have plenty of free parking, and dogs are welcome but must be leashed. There are plenty of goodies for the kids also. Get thier early as all the baked goods are usually a big hit. You will know by the lineups which vendors are popular. If you have never been to the Carp Farmers market, I suggest you go, you will not be disappointed. I can't wait till next Saturday. Enjoy, Cheers!
Paul M — Google review
There is something for everyone here. The produce is amazing and the plants to grow your own veggies or flowers. Dogs are welcome and the food available to snack on is delicious!

Consistently my favourite farmers market in Ottawa! They’ve grown considerably over the years and offer a large variety of vendors. Super family and (on leash) dog friendly.

Great selection of vendors at the Carp Farmers Market! It’s outdoor with lots of free parking. Perfect morning for families and people with dogs. Highly recommend picking up some scones or butter tarts (not pictured).
Shaun C — Google review
Easy to get to and park. The vendors were engaging and local product fresh and lots aveilable for purchase- many vendors have IG and share some great stuff- ie recipes- but some items are a little more pricey. The events tent was packed with people watching cooking demos and outdoor music was great. The sour dough grilled cheese was fantastic!! Luckily, I was with some great company making the day an overall hit, even with a bit of rain.
Vanessa P — Google review
We went for the garlic festival. I wouldn't call that a festival. It has some garlic only stalls but most were their regular stalls selling garlic with their usual stock. My mom was going to come with me but I am happy she didn't. It was really crowded and she uses a walker. She would not have been able to get in to see the stalls. They could definitely put them farther apart, which would help with the crowd bunching.
C P — Google review
I enjoy going to the Carp Market because of the harmonious environment. The vendors are kind, respectful, and happy. The vendors are not pushy but welcoming. They are all transparent discussing the products they offer. Its a calm and serene market with many options.

The staff were all very nice and friendly. The whole place was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The tour was an amazing experience at a reasonable price. We tasted four different wines, including a sparkling one, along with a charcuterie board per person. Will visiting again in the future!

Such a cozy and beautiful place surrounded by vineyards! It was our first wine tasting experience, and it was truly wonderful. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome. A perfect spot to relax, learn something new, and enjoy great wine. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely come back!

We were there last night for a friend’s birthday and were not happy with the new menu. We got the salsa trio, bruschetta, pear and pecan salad and potato wedges and guacamole. The salsa was just the same diced tomatoes as the bruschetta- not even a salsa. The mango salsa seemed like it was store bought and also the guacamole seemed store bought. We had flights of wine and sangria. On the menu the sangria comes with fruit but they only gave us a lemon slice. Not worth the money for what you get. Last time I go the pear and pecan salad we had lots of goat cheese and pecans and this time it was soggy and only a few pecans. It’s too bad as we enjoyed it there back in September and was impressed but we will try another vineyard after the experience last night.

Amazing local winery with lovely tours. Wines surpassed my expectations having toured CA, OR, MD, MN, AZ, and WA vineyards. Wine tasting revealed local grapes produce soft edges (instead of "bitey") to regional chardonnay, sparkling, rose, and pino noir variations. Thankful to the welcoming staff at Kin! Highly recommended.
Jay Q — Google review
My friends and I spent a lovely afternoon at KIN Vineyards last week, enjoying the views and the relaxed atmosphere. We've been before—back when the food was provided by Joe’s Italian Kitchen—and had a great experience. Unfortunately, the food this time was a real letdown. The quality was surprisingly poor: clearly store-bought and not at all reflective of the prices or the setting. My pulled pork taco came topped with what was described as a "pineapple mango salsa," but it was simply canned pineapple chunks—no mango, no seasoning, no flavour. We also ordered the dip trio to share, which was equally disappointing. All three dips tasted like they were straight from a grocery store container. The "pineapple salsa" was identical to what was on my taco—this time with a few tiny bits of mango tossed in. The tomato salsa tasted like canned diced tomatoes with no herbs, spices, or effort at all. On a positive note, my friends enjoyed the sparkling wine, and I appreciated the alcohol-free offerings as I'm currently pregnant. The vineyard remains a beautiful place for a wine tasting or a relaxing afternoon with friends, but I wouldn’t recommend dining here. The website promises “exceptional wines thoughtfully paired with an exquisite dish on our picturesque patio,” but in our experience, the food didn’t live up to that promise.
Brianna L — Google review
The staff are super friendly and I think you’ll find this review very similar to a lot of them, but the wine was fun to enjoy and good to know it was made locally but there are definitely better vineyards in Prince Edward County or Niagara, but I do love to support local. I don’t usually like Chardonnay, but but I did actually quite enjoy the Carp Ridge Chardonnay as it was not super Oakey. When we went, it was raining, but there is a giant tent where you can stay nice and dry however, there are a lot of mosquitoes and the candles that they have don’t really do too much so I highly recommend bringing bug spray or a thermacell. We had the Genoa pizza and added chicken and it wasn’t bad but for the price of the pizza you could definitely get real gourmet pizza elsewhere so a little bit overpriced. I do feel like they should reduce that a bit. I hope the future That They have an indoor facility as I feel like that would draw a lot more people to come no matter what the weather is like. We didn’t tour the vineyards just because there were so many mosquitoes, but we plan on coming back to walk it at some point. Overall, really great experience you don’t really need to make a reservation. The tasting itself was fun. We had three tastings each and it came up to about $26. We did also share a bottle of Chardonnay and one pizza and that came up to $73.
Amelia L — Google review
Service was fantastic, Liam was my server and it was absolutely amazing, food was delicious I had the brisket sandwich with a Genoa and buffalo chicken. It was great. Loved every bit of it.
Max! — Google review
My sisters and I were at Kin Vineyards recently and we were not that impressed with the experience. Our server was Ben, who was outstanding and friendly, and made food recommendations. The food was not very original to be honest, we were expecting more like not having for example store bought tortillas for the tacos, and salt was missing. The trio sauce was a bit bland, and not really original with the flavours. And the "Genoa" flat bread was a bit flat in flavour and presentation. Genoa, Italy, if you ever visited has amazing flavours like the foccacia, it is just unbelievable and simple. We felt it has way too much cheese. If you're going to call your flat Genoa, it would be a great idea to make it authentic. We had the wine flights and not bad, our favourite was Sparkling Vidal, full of aromas and flowery and fruit notes, super refreshing on a hot summer afternoon.

Nestled in the charming village of Carp, The Swan At Carp is a delightful Canadian bar and restaurant that promises an inviting atmosphere and delicious homemade fare. With a menu featuring mouthwatering options like salmon and beef sandwiches, this eatery has garnered praise for its hearty meals. Guests often rave about the warm hospitality provided by the owner, making it feel like a home away from home. While some have noted minor areas for improvement regarding service follow-ups and decor updates, the overall experience remains positive.
Just amazing! A great variety of favourites from the Americas and Asia. Worth a special trip to Carp!

Great service and ambience! The food was pretty tasty too! We ordered their lunch special (Reuben sandwich) and their Jambalaya. Asked for extra hot and got extra hot - they don't play around with their heat! The only thing I was not a big fan of was the frozen Asian and mixed veggies in the jambalaya (veggies were a bit too soft and made it taste more like an Asian stir fry than a jamabalaya) but the portion of meats in this dish was very generous! Want to come back to try the Korean dishes, espcially the bibimbap!

We tried Korean chicken, buffalo chicken, calamar. Korean sauce wasnt good. The rest was not bad. Service was great.NY cheesecake with oreo and blueberry was not fresh at all.

The salmon was delicious! The beef sandwich was also very good. I don't want to be too critical, the few improvements that could be made are, and this is only MY opinion. #1. Once the food arrived, the waitress didn't come back to see how we liked the food. #2. Get rid of the plastic straws, I didn't know restaurants were still using these. #3. The restaurant is old which I love but it's now adorned with IKEA art and lights but the wallpaper is horrid and nothing really matches. It was not busy but we were seated back to back with another couple.

Such a diverse fusion menu at Carp's hidden gem. This chef is extremely creative and the dishes really showed a level of innovation that is at the top of the Ottawa restaurant scene, and surprisingly Swan is out in Carp! Highly recommend the sushi (we had spicy salmon, which is not too spicy).. excellent french onion soup and I ordered the suicide Jambalaya which want initially spicy but rather a slow burn that increases over time. Thoroughly enjoyable and good for another repeat visit with all those interesting menu items!

Amazing food! We had the fish and chips, the jumbalaya, the lobster cakes and the veggie spring rolls! Everything was Soo good !! Their desserts are absolutely decadent! Their cheesecakes are to die for ! We had the caramel and the cherry.. both were amazing.. also had the hazelnut crunch cake!! Highly recommend this place..

Hey Joe, what are you doing with that knife in your hand? I've spent thousands of dollars at the Swan, talked to you many times. You know my kids are older than yours. We were celebrating my 24-year-old son passing his Red Seal plumbing exam on Saturday. Four people in your restaurant, you give him a hard time about his ID over a beer. Claim you can't remember what happened yesterday. Hey Joe, did you forget how to cook? You're using that knife to open packages from Costco. The butter chicken sauce on the special It’s quite familiar. The "Bim Bop" is a fried egg with white rice and hamburger, and the "Costco sauce" is a nice touch. Fries that come with the appetizer and most main courses is a good carb fix. The jambalaya that made me swear I'd never eat it again is still on the menu 3 years later. My son liked the pepper steak, but the rest was pretty much uninspiring. Maybe it's time to hang up the apron.

Look nice but Awful service, they select who they want to serve on the line whenever you are arrived first and not very friendly about that. Perhaps because we ‘re French speaker ? So definitely not recommended. Try the brewery around, way more friendly

I cannot speak on the quality of the pizza, I hate pizza. But the STAFF. The staff is life changing. I do NOT recommend getting take out because you will not get to see any of the staff. They are saints. I think they were chosen by the Lord himself to work at Carp Pizza. It’s their passion. Pizza is their muse and I am but a humble witness. Sometimes I go in there just to tip them. They should get a sitcom.

People have been raving about this place for years? I'm sorry, but there was never anything unique to the taste of they're food. To me, it tastes no different than any other local pizzeria around here. They make okay pizza, but the cost to order food from there is like an evening out on the town lol! Yikes! Quality or not, I just drive to Kanata now for better deals. $30-50 for pizza? no thanks.

Worst lasagna I have ever had. Layers of noodles with no sause. Sprinkle of cheese and only half full. Been going here for years, but quality has gone down as the price goes up. For good food, go somewhere else.

I am a sucker for their wings.....They are the BEST!! They are huge, not the tiny lil things you get at other places. Amazing friendly service every week! Like I said I am a sucker for wings lol I literally order every week, sometimes twice a week. The Garlic Bread is also great! A+++++++

Ordered sever times the last few months from here and I’m very impressed every time. The Canadian I ordered tonight was just the perfect pizza to have after a 55 hour work week. Kudos!
Bog B — Google review
Unfortunately it seems that service has decreased at the restaurant, where they may not be able to handle the same number of orders. Although the food was good, our last deliveries had taken anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours to arrive. On our latest we had ordered at 5:15pm, and had been told it would be 45-60 minutes to arrive. At 6:30 we still had no food, so I called and was told it had been sent out, and should be arriving in the next 10 minutes. At 6:50 I called again, and was told it was almost ready (despite being told it had already been sent out), and I raised my concerns over hungry kids who had been waiting for supper. At 7:05 they called me back to say the order was now ready, and did I still want them to send it out for delivery? I understand that at times you may be overwhelmed, but not giving an accurate delivery timeframe, and not being proactive to reach out to me when there was a delay, was unacceptable. It seems like they kept forgetting to actually make the order. Offered a discount on our next order.... but we've just changed to the other pizza store in Carp instead and been much happier.

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Ridge Rock Brewing Company, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Ottawa Golf Club - Irish Hills Golf & Country Club - Kanata Golf. All together, your day would be filled with about 6 hours of non-stop fun.

Nestled in the charming Carp area of Ottawa, Ridge Rock Brewing Company is a delightful spot for beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This relatively new brewery has quickly become a local favorite, known for its vibrant atmosphere and exceptional offerings. Guests can indulge in an impressive selection of craft beers, including their popular Ridge Rock Blonde Ale and Little Tiles Double Hopped IPA. The menu doesn't disappoint either; patrons rave about the delicious burgers topped with generous slices of avocado and fresh salads that perfectly complement their brews.
What an Epic Brewery Pub, nestled in the Heart of Carp, ON. Prices are fair, portion are Large. They make the Beer on site. Also noticed many Gluten Free options available. Our server was Excellent. Can't wait to visit again.

Dinner was great, the beer was good, dessert was disappointing. The food was great, I had the club sandwich which was really tasty. We also tried the Alfredo Chicken Pizza, which was really good. We'd recommend either of those. We also tried the fish tacos which are also very good. Dessert was ok, but for $11 each, dessert here is not worth it. I hate to say this, but it was almost like they bought them at Costco and drizzled caramel over top of it. The service was good, our server was a little disorganized and a tad slow. But she was very friendly and helpful which is more important in my book. We'll go back for sure. I'd recommend Ridge Rock, just skip dessert.

FYI parking is across the street, otherwise parking is terrible. I came in for a flight and we had lunch while we were here. The stout was really good and I liked the 44 as well. The burger was really delicious. I didn't love seeing that the kids burger was the same size, the only difference was that mine came with onions, pickles, sauce, and lettuce. The fries were very hot and crispy. I gave it 4 stars because of the service. The server only came to take our order and bring food, never really checked in with us. I had to go to the bar to ask about another drink and a take out container. The place was not busy. When the check came It was a good thing I looked because the server also forgot to give me the discounted price for the burger because it was the special. Overall I would come back for the beer but maybe not for a meal.

Delicious and comfortable spot in Carp! The food was really tasty (for everyone) and the drinks are tasty. Nice staff and parking across the street in a lot.

Ridge Rock is always a great experience! The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick and attentive. The food comes out in a timely manner, and it’s always delicious. Their beer is excellent—fresh, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with the meals. You can really tell the owners care about what they do, and it shows through the awesome staff and overall atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I'm not sure if I want to put this kind of pressure on any brewery. But 12/10. Probably the best brewery in the Ottawa area. 6 stars. The batch I got, every option was on a next level. I'm not a newbie, this was the new standard for excellence. I didn't eat in the restaurant. Enjoyed some beers to go. Can't wait to see their menu/ draft!

I can’t say enough great things about Ridge Rock Brewery! My husband and I celebrated our 5-year wedding anniversary there, and it was absolutely perfect. We were able to rent the entire space and hosted over 100 guests and everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. Ashley and her team were beyond incredible. They were professional, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to make sure every detail was just right. The service was exceptional, not just for us, but for every one of our guests. The food and drinks? Outstanding. The event menu was flexible and offered something for everyone, which made planning so much easier. If you’re looking for a local venue to host your wedding, anniversary, or any special celebration, I wholeheartedly recommend Ridge Rock Brewery. It was the perfect setting for a day we’ll never forget!

Nestled in the charming town of Carp, The Juke Joint Soul Kitchen is a delightful eatery that brings the vibrant flavors of New Orleans to life. This cozy spot specializes in Southern-inspired soul food, with an impressive menu that caters to seafood enthusiasts and those craving comfort classics like chicken and waffles, burgers, or fresh salads. Diners rave about the crispy yet tender chicken paired perfectly with fluffy waffles and housemade syrup—a true highlight!
A hidden gem in the heart of Carp, ON to be sure!! It's a quaint little restaurant that focuses on New Orleans style of food and cooking. All the recipes were created by the owner and cooked from scratch. I am slowly working my way through the menu and have not been disappointed. The food is hot and delicious!

My partner and I ordered take out from Juke Joint for the first time this past weekend, and it was excellent! The server working Saturday night was extremely friendly. The food was AMAZING! We ordered fish tacos, the spicy shug pickle burg, and fried pickle chips. The kitchen staff did an outstanding job. We will definitely be back!

Excellent patio and pleasant service. If you are looking for lunch while outlet shopping in Kanata, I suggest making the short trip north. The food is quality (not sure if it's real Cajun). The salad had white chocolate and cranberries in it, yumm.

Fantastic little place in Carp. Went with a large group, had great service and even better food. There was not a disappointed person at our table. Chicken and waffles was delicious. Chicken was crispy and tender, waffle was not overcooked and the housemade syrup was a perfect companion to the dish. They also served up a nice list of local draught breweries. Definitely worth the drive out to the country.

We have heard good things about the Juke so, we gave their spicy pickle burger combo a go. The patty itself was thick, juicy and delicious. The platter could use a few more pickles and maybe some slaw. No doubt, we'll be back again.
Steven L — Google review
We came here because of the online reviews. We walked in and were told we couldn't be there past 8:30 as they had an event. The staff seemed nice however they didn't even get up from the counter or out from behind the bar to let us know where to sit. They just pointed. The seating was like eatting cafeteria style as the tables were all pushed together in a row for the band later on, so not much privacy nor did we have our own table. My fiancé's jumbalya was very good but he felt like it wasn't a big enough portion for the price. I had the fish tacos, the fish itself was great however the overall taco was beyond bland. My fiancé mentioned that he didn't want onion or red peppers in his meal and then she brought his salad full of red peppers and green oinions. The servers were all hanging out very close to where we were eatting, one of them drinking wine and the others talking about personal life and swearing all while ourselves and seniors were present. We will most likely not return.

Irish Hills Golf & Country Club in Ottawa, also known as the Kanata Golf Club, is a fantastic place to learn and play golf. This course offers a well-maintained facility with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The recent upgrades have left visitors impressed by its improved quality. For those looking to improve their game, professional instructor Ryan provides patient guidance and individualized attention for each group member. With his help, players can confidently enhance their skills and enjoy the learning process.
I was looking for a very late replacement venue for our curling league's banquet in May 2025. I reached out to Irish Hills with less than a week before the banquet date. Bhupinder and Shiva met with me the same day to discuss options and pricing. They were very accommodating, helping me in every step to make sure we had a great event. We could not have held our banquet without their outstanding service. The event itself was outstanding. The meal from Chef Jen and her team was universally praised. She accommodated a dietary restriction with a separate entree suitable for the attendee. Many of our attendees asked if we could come again next year, the meal was that good. The staff accommodated our last minute request for a couple of extra tables without hesitation. All in all this was a perfect event. I would not hesitate to book an event there again.

My friend and I both had a great time today on the greens! We also dined on the patio and enjoyed: A Caesar Sandbagger Boysenberry Coconut Shrimp Honey-hot wings Gourmet Burger I especially loved the tranquility and breathtaking scenery!

Mother's Day brunch was probably the best brunch I have ever had. The quality and selection of food were excellent. We have done other 9 and dines at Irish Hills and we have never been disappointed with the food! Chef Jen always makes a point of visiting guests at each table. The servers are friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

I had not played Irish Hills in over 10 years, but wanted to play last minute on a weekend. It has come a long way since then. There’s been a significant investment made back into the club house, carts, tee boxes, and general course condition. It can still be improved, but considering the green fee, the value is great. Still one of the least expensive green fees with close proximity to the city. I appreciate the change of having the former hole 10, now as hole 1, allowing you to start off with some easier more forgiving holes before getting into the more challenging back 9. I will be back, keep it up 👍

The Greensmere Golf and Country Club is a top-tier golf course situated just a short distance from Kanata, Ontario. Boasting an impressive 36 holes, this championship-level course offers players a challenging and enjoyable experience. The fairways and greens are meticulously maintained, providing an exceptional playing surface. With its stunning views and well-designed layout, Greensmere is widely regarded as one of the best golf courses in the outskirts of Ottawa.
This course will chew you up and spit you out if you're not careful. Lots of fun holes on the Legacy course, and the fact they have 2 18 hole courses is tremendous. Highly recommend
Ryan R — Google review
Played the front 9 and it was a nice long course that was pretty well maintained. It's a lot of long par 4's and par 5's thar are very open. The fairways were like carpets and the greens were nicely maintained. My only gripe was that the course was VERY wet while I played. It doesn't seem like water drains away very effectively after rain so take that into account.
Ryan B — Google review
Pros: - nice hole layouts, with a few bends and elevation changes. - fairways and greens were in excellent shape and rolling well - deer sightings! Cons: - bugs were relentless and unbearabl. They were present everywhere on the Legacy course (even in the middle of a wide open fairway). Really took away from the enjoyment. - clearly setup for power carts, with 5-7min walks between a couple holes. - slow pace of play hampered a good round. Didn’t see the Marshall once during 18-holes. - poor markings for walking between holes, especially for first timers. - staff not overly friendly. Overall, I’d play again, but maybe in the Fall when the bugs have died down a bit. Special shoutout to the dragonflies that protected me while I drained a birdie putt on #10.
Daniel C — Google review
Absolutely rock solid course all throughout the board, beautifully kept, 2 amazing 18's with distinctly different feelings and vibes, the premiere is a bit more open and forgiving while the legacy is a bit trickier with many demanding tee shots. The fairways are like carpet and the greens roll pure and true at a nice speed. Full Driving range and 2 warmup putting greens all at a very fair price, Greensmere is easily one of the best golf facilities in the western Ottawa area.
Russ — Google review
Wow, the fairways were in great condition. Especially how dry Ottawa has been. Greens played very fair, just tough pin placement but that makes for the challenge!
George R — Google review
Nice, well maintained course but was a little backed up halfway through. Four groups all bunched up at each tee off which became very frustrating. Clubhouse is a little tired but food staff are great and the food is very good.

Today a small group went golfing at Greensmere and had an incredible time. From the 1st contact of booking with Nathan, to each and every single employee working today, we were shown kindness, caring and had really fun encounters. Most of the balls are very worn down, dead and need replacement. The grass tee deck is fairly uneven. It’s probably one of the lower cost buckets in the city, but you get what you pay for. Would be good place for beginners who just want to try out the game.
Andrew E — Google review
Firstly, my brother and I tried the mini putt, 18 holes was okay at best. The green on almost each hole was often wrinkled, not maintained and ripped up; We had fun regardless, however, upon leaving, I found a single spare ball upon exiting the course, which I simply handed to a couple of guys who were just arriving to hit the driving range, and the old woman behind the counter began to scold her customers about taking a single ball. Instead of calmly asking us, she’s yelling at us demanding the ball back. It’s a beautiful hot sunny day, lots of people love to play golf, but after that experience, it’s clear to me why this business is quiet. For that, I’ll happily spend my money elsewhere.
Michael C — Google review
This place is a dump The grass is trash and no where to hit from. We spent over 80 Dollars on balls. Hitting driver outside the line. The old lady that runs the place came and gave us shit. I was trying to teach my brother some tips on hitting driver. She then says you guys have been here over an hour there’s no teaching. It was me my brother and two nephews and she comes over acting like this. I’d suggest going elsewhere so you don’t have to deal with that
Eric — Google review
Honestly not even worth one star . Took our two teens to the range with my wife today and my daughter used a borrowed club . She didn’t even hit the ball the club let alone the grass so my son lent her a club. The lady at the window accused her of bending the head when it was already crap and bent . She tries to tell her buy her own clubs and knows a guy at the stittesvill market that sells ones and is there all the time . No thanks . We also played mini putt and its uneven , rouge surface just junk. The only decent part of this experience was the water was not over priced . Skip this place…shows people do as nobody was there . Garbage

We decided to come here to warm up at the driving range before heading to the golf course next door. It was me, my boyfriend, my brother, and his girlfriend. We didn’t even say or do anything (we were literally just standing and waiting for my boyfriend to pay) when the staff immediately accused him of being a golf instructor trying to make money off her driving range. I explained he’s my boyfriend, and she snapped, “Don’t tell me he’s your boyfriend.” We felt completely disrespected and singled out. It really seemed like she assumed the worst just because we’re Asian and my boyfriend isn’t. We hadn’t even paid yet before getting treated so badly that we just decided to leave. Terrible customer service, unwelcoming atmosphere, and possibly racist attitude. Don’t waste your money or your time here, go somewhere that actually wants your business.
Amy P — Google review
Never experienced racism towards my boyfriend’s family and I until we came here today. We wanted to play for fun then an old grumpy lady started accusing one of us to be a pga pro “teaching” us lessons. She continued saying stuff that were very racially motivated to the point where we just decided to leave and not wanted to deal with this bullshit.
Micah A — Google review
Worst place ever. We got there to hit a couple balls in the range and when we got there, a lady greeted someone in my group who was paying with how he can't teach anyone and how PGA instructors come and steal money from her by teaching which I doubt. Also she assumed that we were taking lessons because we were a group of 3 Asians and the guy who was paying was white. She was saying how the white guy with us was teaching lessons and stealing from her by teaching but he's never even been there before in his life so I highly don't recommend anyone who isn't caucasian to go unless you go alone or until she is gone from that facility because from what I hear this is one of many incidents that are similar and they all involve her.
Anthony P — Google review
Stay away! There are plenty of other driving ranges in the area where you will at least be treated with some resemblance of customer service. Judging by the other reviews it seems to be the same individual being disrespectful. Absolutely shameful behaviour. Do yourself a favour and spend your money elsewhere!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Pong's Poutine. The portion size was generous, with the medium being filled to the brim and unable to close properly due to the abundance of toppings. The cheese and gravy were cleverly layered with the fries, ensuring a consistent distribution as I dug deeper into the poutine. However, I found that the gravy leaned slightly towards being overly salty, which detracted slightly from an otherwise excellent mix of flavors.
Got a large stranger frings poutine and a Diet Coke for only twelve dollars and it was PACKED to the top. Really good, gravy was hot and the cheese pull on the curds was great. Great quality, great value and they were super polite asking if I needed any condiments or a bag to put it in if I wanted to take it home. Highly recommend 💯💯💯
Kienan M — Google review
The gravy and cheese were good, but there wasn't nearly enough cheese curds. I expected way more based on other reviews and pictures. So that was fairly disappointing. The fries themselves were thin and crispy, but lacked flavour. I was able to redeem them to a degree with lots of salt, vinegar, and ketchup. The portions are generous for the price.
Chandelle K — Google review
I've grown up eating poutine from all the small French Canadian towns and I can truly say that pong's somehow surpasses them. The thin cut fries are truly an innovation to the poutine game. The prices are more than fair, the portions are very generous. Highly recommend coming here for either an authentic poutine or one of their cool fusion poutines.
Liam G — Google review
Thoroughly surprised by the quality and tastiness of the classic poutine (medium). Living near Ottawa, I've visited many places that serve poutine in Quebec and Ontario, and Pong's' Poutine is definitely in my top three establishments. Their gravy is delicious, the curds melt just right, they heap the fries into your dish, and their service is impeccable. My only qualm is that their establishment isn't in the nicest area. While the owners have done a great job keeping things clean and tidy, the area around the food truck is a bit of a mess. However, that's related to the other businesses around them, and not the employees. All told -- one of the best poutines I've had on the Ontario side. Do not hesitate to give these guys a shot if you're craving a classic dirty poutine!

The poutine is vegetarian. Veg gravy. Veg cooking oil. Tasted good. Great people. Be careful. They give very very large portion sizes

This poutine was great! The fries were so crispy and the gravy was delicious. I ordered a medium and it was a fantastic portion. I couldn't eat it all at once.
