Bordeaux Airport

3.1
(18269)
International airport
Airport
Regional airport
Bordeaux Airport, also known as "billi" Terminal for low-cost airlines, is an international airport conveniently connected to the city by local buses and shuttles to/from the main train station. The airport offers easy access to Bordeaux, a must-see city in the region. Additionally, it features a well-designed golf course with raised and technical greens. While the newer terminal may have limited seating and space at the gates, plans for a tram or rail connection from Bordeaux are underway.
Bordeaux Airport is a clean, well-organised airport that’s easy to get around. It’s on the smaller side, which makes the whole experience much more relaxed compared to larger airports. There’s a small but handy selection of cafés and shops to grab a bite or a few essentials before flying. The staff were all friendly and helpful, which made the journey smooth from start to finish.
Russell H — Google review
We have seen half of area is in construction, and that inconvenient things are apparently happen here. Passengers feel uncomfortable due to not enough space for crowd people, not enough toilets, small monitors, no aerobridge, and etc.
Daud — Google review
My recent experience at Bordeaux Airport was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Although the terminal officially opened at 4:00 AM, no Air France staff appeared at the check-in counters for almost 40 minutes. The line of travelers quickly grew to extend out the door, and yet there was zero urgency from staff. Even more frustrating was witnessing multiple employees behind the desks who appeared to be socializing rather than assisting passengers. There was a clear lack of organization and leadership, especially during the early morning rush when efficiency matters most. To make matters worse: - The bathrooms were filthy and in need of serious cleaning. - The card reader at the café was down, leaving people unable to make purchases unless they had cash. - There was no clear signage or announcements to help passengers navigate the delay or understand what was happening. The airport’s poor service, lack of cleanliness, and disorganized operations set a negative tone for what should have been a smooth departure. For an international travel hub, this level of service is unacceptable in my opinion. I hope Bordeaux Airport takes this feedback seriously and works on improving staffing efficiency, cleanliness, and customer communication, especially because this experience felt more like chaos than travel.
Zach B — Google review
Arrivals were clean, simple, quick and easy to get to onward travel whether that be bud, tram or rental car. Departures on the other hand is a very different story. Quick and easy luggage drop in Billi’ then had to move to ‘Hall A’. Security were more interested in their own conversations than helping travellers and seemed very lacklustre in checking carry on/ customers. The terminal can best be described as baron. We had the choice of a tiny cafe or duty free shop. We were told there were more eateries past border control. Once let through, no where was open and passengers were not allowed back through to the only open cafe. Young parents and vulnerable passengers had to use a vending machine by the gate. Toilets were spacious and clean, as was the terminal, this is no mean feat however as there is nothing to keep tidy as it’s empty. EasyJet should review flight times if services within their terminals close abnormally early. Shame for such a lovely city and surrounding area to visit.
Tom C — Google review
This airport is simply okay. There was nothing fundamentally wrong, but equally nothing to make it stand out. Facilties are very basic but being a small airport it is quick to get through to airside. Handy there is a tram service right outside. If you get a late flight be warned that facilties may be closed and you risk being thrown out at closing time.
Keith H — Google review
The seating areas are insufficient, and you end up waiting for a spot constantly. Security checkpoints are limited, which leads to long waiting times. Overall, the airport is clean, but the number of restrooms is inadequate. Waiting seems to be a constant theme here. Since Ryanair pulled out, there are very few destinations available, and ticket prices have skyrocketed. This airport really needs improvements, but unfortunately, it seems to be going in the opposite direction. Hopefully, it can develop and offer a better experience in the future.
Abdulbaki K — Google review
I would give it 0. This airport is not designed for people! Multi-level long corridors, bathrooms are available only right after the control, but they are not close to the gates! Look at this wonderful dyson dryer that flows the water right in your face! No caffeteria after the control, only vending machines. But the worst thing is the splitting of gates into intra-EU and extra-EU flights. The gates <10-14 and 80-83> (if I remember the numbers correctly) are designated for extra-EU flights, but the the sign is perceived rather as 10-83 gates. There is pass control zone, and I had strong doubts that I have to pass it by travelling within Europe. I asked the controller if I should go, and she confirmed! Of course, there was no my gate. But now, I have the wrong stamp in my passport and probably must change it! This is not easy to do at all!
Olga M — Google review
This is the worst airport I have ever been to. Over crowded to the point of danger. Staff are so rude the only explicable explanation is that they were all sent to a week long course on how to be rude. Scanners from the 1980s that take so long to scan they make everyone late. You'd be better off getting a bus or train and flying from somewhere that won't shave several years of life expectancy from you.

Zoo

Park
SAS Zoo de Bordeaux-Pessac is a large zoo offering a diverse range of animal species in natural habitats, along with feeding sessions and shows. Visitors can interact with lemurs and rainbow lorikeets, making it an unforgettable experience. Despite its seemingly small size on the map, the well-thought-out layout ensures a fulfilling visit. The zoo's construction promises exciting future developments. It offers a leisurely pace to explore without feeling crowded, and visitors can enjoy feeding birds at their own convenience.
Lovely zoo it was under construction so it would be nice to go back to see what it will look like. Not crowded at all you may take any route you wish. Feed the birds it's a nice pace of not needing to rush and enjoying your time. The cafe is closed sometimes we went on a Thursday so that was a little bit if a bummer but all in all a good trip to take my son for his 2nd birthday. And don't be afraid to ask for help some people to speak English.
Rusimbi N — Google review
The muddy, puddle-filled pathways are an inconvenience but what got to me was the small enclosures. The lion’s pen is supposed to be new, but I’m wondering why it’s so sparse? Where’s the mental stimulation or even plants for these animals? They’ve had a sad start to life and at least they’re getting nourishment and care here at this zoo, but the enclosure feels small and empty. The elk’s pen felt incredibly small as well for an animal that runs great distances in the wild.
Chrissy L — Google review
Spent a very enjoyable day visiting the zoo. Lots of shady areas to wander through when it’s hot and lots of different animals to see. Great day out for the family
Julian D — Google review
Great small zoo, a lot of animals, you can see closely the lemurs, goats and feed parrots with nectar.
Dmitry M — Google review
Lovely size zoo, enclosures arent the cleanest and water is dirty in all- including drinking water for animals. Only one set of toilets but lots of spaces to eat a picnic. Should have staff in the lemur, bird and goat areas as humans are horrid- a mam was pulling the tail of a lemur
Stacey A — Google review
An amazing zoo to visit when in Bordeaux. The animals are well looked after and the environment is incredibly clean. It probably only takes a couple of hours to get around the zoo comfortably but the prices are great and it definitely makes a good trip out. We would visit here again!

Awesome park. Not super big but very well worth it
Senne S — Google review
Pretty small but really good zoo, I've been to the a lot zoos all around the world and some of them are times bigger but not this well organized. You can walk all around in about 1.5-2 hours, there are sunny and shadowy places. You can go inside to communicate with parrots (buy them food in the entrance for 50 cents), goats and lemurs. My baby was so happy to communicate with them, it's definitely the best part

City park
Parc Bordelais is a 69-acre 19th-century park located in central Bordeaux, featuring a large lake, mature trees, and local-breed farm animals. With around 3000 trees, some over a hundred years old, it's officially recognized as an Ecological Green Space and Outstanding Garden. The park offers wide alleys leading through an oak forest, an English-style river, and diverse flora and fauna.
Very interesting, many things to see, you can walk and there are some points you could spend some time, like exercising or playing with your children.

It is a nice place in the heart of Bordeaux. I was visiting my friends in this city and we went to walk the baby. There were plenty of people, walking with kids or pets ; moreover, the parents played different active games with their kids. Nice place to have some rest outdoors.

Huge park with great trees, duck pond, peacocks and gardens. There’s also a bicycle training area for kids with traffic lights and crosswalks supervised by a police officer. The kids were loving the experience and learning the rules of the road.

Very big parc. It’s amazing just when i searched for the animals it was very difficult to find it and in the end there were no animals. There is a train but i couldn’t find the station where it started. I was exited for the animals and they had construction everywhere.

A mouthwatering menu with a choice of 2 starters, 3 main courses, and 2 desserts, for €26 for 2 courses or €32 for 3. Everything was excellent, fresh, beautifully presented, and flavorful. Good selection of wines at reasonable prices. In summer, you can choose between the terrace and indoor dining. The staff was lovely; we had a wonderful time. The dishes were very good and made with vegetables from the garden (permaculture). We also received excellent advice on the wine selection. The menu is limited to daily specials; for both starters and main courses, we found a meat, a fish, and a vegetarian dish. It's magical; I highly recommend it. (Translated by Google) Nestled in the middle of the countryside, this restaurant is a real gem. Ample parking, lovely staff, well-spaced tables, a peaceful atmosphere... you quickly feel at home. The food is homemade, and it shows! The daily menu offers two starters, three main courses, and two desserts. Each plate is a feast of colors, aromas, and generosity. For starters, the egg meurette with a wine and mushroom sauce was generous and hearty. For main courses, we tried the Caesar salad (fresh, balanced, and topped with delicious tender chicken), a creative vegetarian dish without rice or meat but ultra-delicious, and a perfectly cooked fish that was a hit with everyone. For sweets, we fell in love with the red berry panna cotta, which was immediately served; its aroma won over the table. The apple crumble was also delicious, lightly sweetened, just the right amount. And the cherry on top: the coffee comes with a soft homemade biscuit in the shape of a bread stick. Even without drinking coffee, I was treated to my sweet treat.

I had such a fantastic evening the first night, I went back the second night as well! Brilliant atmosphere in this Aussie run, innovative bistro. Fabulous food, great range of wines (especially non Bordeaux) and the staff are friendly and attentive. Perfect English spoken and Aaron the Aussie owner is a gem. Don't hesitate.

Very friendly & welcoming service. The food was mostly good, though the goat burrata was a bit bland. We had 3 wines between us and only liked one.

SO GOOD. Beautiful restaurant in an old building, with a wall of fantastic wine (mainly French and Aussie) and knock out food. The service was fantastic even on a busy night and our trilingual waitress managed all the tables well. Food was delicious, clearly great ingredients and then prepared well. The burrata de chevre with black garlic and tiny potatoes was just stunning. And the rigatoni was comforting and tasty.

Excellent food and service. Nice to sit out in the courtyard of the church at sunset. Interesting to try goat burrata… could’ve used some more seasoning. The split pea hummus with herbs was the star of the show.

Maybe a bad service today but disappointing… ended leaving without having dinner

Where could I begin to commend this venue. To begin, the staff were wonderful and attentive, creating a great night for all of us. Dinner was delicious and creative. And finally, the wine list boasted a generous selection of French and international wines. Through and through, tip top place.

Absolute musts: gochugang chicken wings, sticky pudding dessert. But really you cannot go wrong. The vibe is impeccable and perfectly situated in the chatrons neighborhood. North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Base sous-marine, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to CAPC Musée d'art Contemporain de Bordeaux. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Great form to make use out of war buildings! We loved the installation. I would have wished for a bit more insights into the history of and details about the bunker itself. There were 4 info texts at the end but I would have liked to know a bit more.

Immersive experience. Exhibition was on Egypt and Pharaohs. Small section on the history of the submarine base. Perhaps a separate larger section on this would be a good addition..
Mark E — Google review
Intelligent use of the space, good to see they created smaller areas to allow in the round feel Takes your time.
Keith R — Google review
This was a top experience! Pre-booked the tickets so entry was quick and easy. The art looks brilliant cast on the walls and reflected off the water. It's really impactful and immersive. The music playing in the background perfectly suits the images and tone. We saw the Dutch painters, and loved it! Very innovative and engaging way of viewing art. Practical points: the website says it gets cold. Not in the summer...its quite toasty in there but imagine in winter you will need a coat. It's dark...takes some adjusting to. The history of the submarine base is towards to end, make sure you don't miss it. We went round again to watch the start of the exhibit we liked the best.

Amazing and surreal! Quite sobering to think what it was built for! A must see 😀

Our visit to the Bassin des Lumières was a mesmerizing fusion of art, light, and history, set within the hauntingly atmospheric space of Bordeaux’s former submarine base. The transformation of this massive, industrial structure into a canvas for immersive digital art was nothing short of spectacular. As masterpieces danced across the water and concrete walls, we were enveloped in a sensory experience that felt both intimate and grand. The scale, creativity, and emotion of the show were breathtaking, making it one of the most unique and unforgettable cultural experiences we’ve ever had.

Cap Sciences is a science museum located in old warehouses on the docks of Bordeaux. Since 1995, it has been a hub for scientific and industrial culture, hosting meetings, conferences, exhibitions for all ages, and various activities for children as young as three years old. The museum aims to make scientific culture accessible to everyone by popularizing it. Visitors can expect exceptional permanent and temporary exhibitions, interactive displays, space exhibits, and a 'living lab.'
I visited a dinosaur exhibition in July. Though the exhibit area wasn’t large, it covered all the essential knowledge. There were many interactive facilities and activities for children, such as an area to freely assemble skeletons, an activity to let children experience the excavation process, and a Q&A session. These features are great for sparking children’s curiosity and inspiring their passion for science. The exhibition also had English and French descriptions, making it friendly for international visitors. Overall, I was very satisfied with the exhibition!

I went to dinosaur exposition in November. To be honest I was expecting something different, I mean it was good but its for children's in my opinion. The ticket was around 7€ for students (10€ for adults), so maybe I could go again to see the permanent exposition.
Luis Q — Google review
I visited the Lascaux cave exhibition today with my husband and three children ages 14, 11 and 7. We all really enjoyed it and I would recommend it as something to do for an hour or so if visiting Bordeaux this summer. We were given a brief introduction by a member of staff which was very useful at introducing the story of the cave's discovery to our children. The exhibition is clearly laid out, informative and very engaging. The audio visual recreation of the cave was excellent at bringing the experience of the prehistoric people to life for my younger children. We didn't do the virtual reality experience so I can't comment on that.

[English; 2*adult, 1*3y] The animatronic dinosaurs and individual activities are good, The guided activities have very limited value if your children don't speak French, and there is nothing much for adults. I would recommend limiting the number of adults in your party as much as possible, €7.5 well-spent for the child, €10 not so much for each of the adults.

We went to the exhibition of the little monsters (bugs). And it was OK, small but good for little kids.

The CAPC Musée d'art Contemporain de Bordeaux is located in a 19th-century warehouse and showcases a diverse range of contemporary art. The museum features temporary exhibitions with multimedia pieces and interactive displays, including immersive installations like Lubaina Himid's Naming the Money. With almost 1,300 works of art, the museum's collection includes pieces by renowned artists such as Andy Warhol and Pierre Alechinsky.
I give five stars for the building. It is truly amazing! However, the exhibition is not so interesting, a bit perfunctory, I would say. The first floor was closed except a small gallery for antiques. Anyway, if you have time to kill in Bordeaux, it is still a good place to go.
Karry O — Google review
Voluminous contemporary art space in an restored stone structure. The range of exhibitions spanning three floors. Works we encountered focus on issues relevant to modern life across all mediums and disciplines of art, film, design, architecture. A great book and gift shop at ground level and a nice rooftop terrace for refreshments rounded out our visit.
Willy W — Google review
the museum is located just off the river promenade and close to the city center. the historic building has been transformed beautifully into a big exhibition space. it houses several exhibitions on three levels and there is of course a little shop. general admission is 8 euros, which is absolutely worth it.

This is a great building that has been repurposed as a contemporary art gallery. The huge space houses some impressive installation work. They’re reviewing rooms for contemporary video and film works and spaces for suspended and kinetic art. Upstairs there is a children’s area there is also an architectural workshop. The roof is beautiful and has an area for having something to eat and drink. It has a great symphony shop and is highly recommended for the modern art lover.
G M — Google review
Expected more of the museum of modern art. Most of expositions are quite boring and ordinary. We took a guidebook to read about the expositions, but it didn’t help a lot. There was an exposition with a table and chairs. There is no mentioning that you could not sit on the chairs, but you could not. You could take a stool at the beginning of the tour - this is comfortable. The ticket costs 8euros.
Александра Л — Google review
I'm not sure if people are complaining about the art museum because they lack an appreciation of contemporary art. One of the highlights was a video about protests around the world looking for Independence and freedom, over the decades that was deeply moving. I found the museum delightful. My husband thought it was offbeat.

Exceptional food, wine and service. Cannot recommend this place enough. Go here and you will not regret it.

The food was outstanding—both creative and flavorful. For me, the highlights were the sweetbreads and the steak tartare. Given that it's in Bordeaux, I had anticipated a broader selection of local wines by the glass, though perhaps that's not the focus here. As for the service, my wine order was forgotten, which is something I haven't experienced in quite some time. Nevertheless, this place has great potential and is an excellent spot overall.
Alan B — Google review
Really good food but probably some of the worst service I've experienced in France or England or Italy in the last 10 years. Table of 17 booked 5 months in advance, We booked a table outside and they put us inside. We asked to sit outside and they said it was impossible. Even though there were many tables free. It was uncomfortably warm inside. The duck starter it was incredible. Really delicious and exciting. But a couple of our friends were left waiting for more than 5 minutes when other dishes were on the table. And we saw the same dishes they were waiting for being served two tables next to us that sat down after us. Pork main was delicious, but again they forget two of our friends dishes (including the birthday boy) and they arrived unseasoned. The wine was good. A night of ups and downs.
Thomas S — Google review
At Symbiose, we had a truly lovely evening. The food was very good, the wine was excellent, and the view of the river and the big Ferris wheel made the setting even more special. The service was warm, friendly, and perfectly paced.

Really delicious food, probably the best beef tartare I've ever had! I'm not sure it counts as satay but it definitely does count as very tasty with a really good kick and a big garlic kick. Beetroot crisps and tartare is a revelation! The tomato tart was outstanding, really fresh and light, very highly recommended. The whiting quenelle was very good, I particularly enjoyed the mix of pickled celeriac with rich bisque. I enjoyed the hazelnut mackerel. I'm not sure it's exactly my taste but it was good. The zombie was incredibly good and I will now be trying ti incorporate patchouli into my cooking! Too it off with fantastic and knowledgeable service. I'd come back to bordeaux for this alone!

We read a bunch of reviews about this place and they were all fantastic, including a great write up in the Michelin guide. We were underwhelmed. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. The restaurant is very cute and the service was very good. Everyone was really friendly. I just didn't think the food was great and it definitely didn't have much in terms of kid-friendly options (although kid-friendly food just isn't really a thing in France the way it is in Canada or the US). Nothing was bad. I just was expecting more based on all the amazing reviews and awards and write ups.
Jaya C — Google review
Excellent chef. Creative plates. We were grateful to have the menu on the phone to try to figure out what we were eating. The Erika cocktail was exceptional. I've Never tasted anything like that. The (red) wine was served too cold and the list was disappointing considering the food quality. The speakeasy in the back is a joke. The grandfather clock just blocks the sight from the street and somewhat separates the dining area from the bar. Annoying reservation policy with an 80 euro charge for cancellation or no show.

The Musée d'Aquitaine is a history and ethnography museum located in Bordeaux, offering a comprehensive look at the region's past as well as artifacts from around the world. Situated near the Cathedrale Saint-Andre, this museum delves into the history, archaeology, and ethnology of Aquitaine from prehistoric times to the present day.
The prehistoric archaeology section is marvelous! Personally, I lose interest by Mesolithic, but of all that sort of recent stuff is your thing there are excellent exhibits of this as well.

Fantastic museum traces the history and archeology of Bordeaux and greater Aquitaine. Many moments of wonder from pre-historic times to the 20th century. Very well done exhibits with translations in English throughout. We spent about 2 hours. Many cafes in the area, tram stops right out front.

Beautiful museum, absolutely stunning filled with history of the region before bc and after bc. From paintings and sculptures to cars and items from the 1960s onwards.
Lars S — Google review
Lots of 5-3000 BC artifacts of Aquitaine. Expect more of Bordeaux history with the rebuilding of the city in the mid 18th century. Lots of stuff on the slave trade and France’s part in it. Found this interesting esp given the juxtaposition of what’s happening with the current USA administration and revisionist history.
Jan G — Google review
Only partly open when visited, some interesting Roman items. The post war exhibition was good.
Keith R — Google review
Very interesting museum with a wide variety of exhibits. The Roman artifacts in particular were absolutely amazing!
Alan F — Google review
Wonderful museum. Objects are the stars and are displayed in a way that doesn't overwhelm even though the galleries are full. There's plenty of label information at different levels and a variety of other intrepretation methods from maps, models, images and films. Each gallery has a hands on table for sensory experiences and information. There's lots to see and even a brief wander through the galleries will take 1-2 hours. There are excellent galleries dealing with the slave trade, new settlers and modern Bordeaux and environmental sustainability The special exhibition on post war France 1945-54 was a terrific insight into the social, cultural and economic development of the country. There's a bag search at the entrance hall and lockers for them (token from reception). The shop is modest, situated at the entrance/exit. There's no cafe/restaurant, just a vending machine in a hallway, with a few tables and chairs. The toilet is unisex with about 6 cubicles.

Museums
The Bordeaux Museum of Fine Arts, also known as Musee des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, is an elegant art museum housing a vast collection of classical art spanning from the Renaissance to the 19th century. Situated near religious monuments and the Quartier Saint Michel district, this museum was founded in 1801 and boasts a permanent collection featuring masterpieces of European painting from the 15th to the 20th century.
For museum and art lovers, the visit to the MusBA is definitely worth it. We visited the museum with our children and we ended up spending more than two hours, without even going to the temporary exhibition at the gallery across the street. The visit is quite interesting with lots of art pieces categorised in different time periods. The most interesting part for us was the modern part with paintings by Picasso, Matisse and Delacroix. The museum is also included in the Bordeaux City Pass.
Iason S — Google review
Frankly speaking, I’ve visited art museums in every city I’ve traveled to. This one is not the worst, but it’s definitely below average. First, although the museum doesn’t have many masterpieces, they do have some unique paintings that you won’t find in other art museums. Unfortunately, these are not displayed well for visitors to appreciate. Second, they hang many paintings one above another, and some are placed too close to the lights, making it hard to see them properly from any angle. Third, even though they don’t have many masterpieces, they still keep some valuable paintings, like Odilon Redon’s Apollo’s Chariot, in storage. It makes me wonder if they even care whether people visit the museum or not.
· M — Google review
The Museum is a cultural gem, featuring a diverse collection of paintings and sculptures. While it's smaller than expected, the artworks are impressive and well curated. More exhibit info would be nice, but it's still worth a visit, especially for fans of European art.
Filipe S — Google review
Great museum, a lot of beautiful paintings and sculptures for just 8 EUR. You can attend three halls.
Dmitry M — Google review
The museum had some very nice works but it was disappointing that most descriptions were only in French. There was also terrible lighting throughout the museum that created a glare on the paintings and made it especially difficult to see some of the older paintings from any angle. I wish the museum was more thoughtful about including English descriptions and appropriate lighting. But the art was nice enough that it was still worth the visit. The garden was very beautiful as well.

Shopping mall
Nestled in the heart of Bordeaux, La Galerie des Grands Hommes is a covered market with an impressive circular architecture. The area is named after famous figures like Buffon, Diderot, Rousseau, Montaigne, Voltaire and Montesquieu. While it was initially designed as a shopping center in the 1980s, one can't help but imagine it as a more open space with cafes or regular markets to complement its stunning buildings.
Really just went in for the grocery store downstairs which was excellent! Looked like a nice mall though and had clean toilets. Recommend 🇨🇦

This is a circular shaped modern shopping centre in the heart of the Golden Triangle of Bordeaux. You will find boutique shops, eateries and a useful Carrefour supermarket if you need to stop by to stock up on food items to prepare meals in apartment rentals you might be staying nearby. We found the supermarket here useful for some odd bits that we were unable to find in local food markets and shops. It is a conveniently located venue and contribution to the shopping/dining scene around Bordeaux.

Located in the heart of Bordeaux at the Place de la Bourse, Musée National des Douanes has been open since 1984 and offers a fascinating journey through France's customs administration history. Housed in the former customs hall, it showcases a diverse collection of artifacts including uniforms, weapons, scales, and confiscated items. The museum provides insight into the tangible role of customs agents throughout history. The building's historical significance as an old royal square adds to the allure of this unique museum experience.

When in Bordeaux and you want something a little different (and the musee de l’imprimerie that I really wanted to visit is closed) then go and visit the French customs and excise museum. Spoiler alert this isn’t the most interactive of museum and everything is in French, however you get a warm welcome (unusual from a French customs officer haha) and you can spend an interesting hour in a lovely building reading about stuff you don’t know like when English goods were blocked from entering France after the Trafalgar victory. Be sure to see the painting by Claude Monet, Cabane des Douaniers.

Perfect for people who want to learn about the history of customs and customs officers in Bordeaux. Great location! Very small but clean and well curated.

The chef has upgraded the greek cuisine and found ways to enrich the tasting experience with pure ingredients. Some dishes tasted better than from our favourite restaurants in Greece. The owners managed to create a unique identity in the restaurant. The ambient is very cosy and the people who work there very kind, warm and friendly - such a true Greek hospitality!

Asian fusion restaurant
Wok Way is a popular spot in Bordeaux known for its delicious and authentic Asian cuisine. Visitors rave about the hand-pulled noodles, which are praised for their perfect texture and flavor. The menu features a variety of traditional dishes such as beef and duck noodles, with generous portions that leave diners satisfied. While some have noted that the taste may not match up to certain regional standards, the overall consensus is positive, with many patrons praising the friendly service and enjoyable dining experience.
Amazing experience! The staff was very polite and nice to us and the food was superb! 10/10!! UPDATE: we visited this restaurant again in November 2024 (even though we are tourists, we visit it every year). Well, this last time we were scammed. When we were about to pay the bill, the old lady asked us if we wanted a ticket and I said yes, she totally ignored me and gave me only the copy of the bank (you can’t see the prices of what you’ve ordered there and check if there’s any mistake). She charged us 90€, instead of 70€. We were loyal clients and this experience completely ruined the high regard we had towards this restaurant. So disappointed.

Wok Way is one of our go-to places to eat in Bordeaux - the food is so fresh (made right in front of you!) and the staff are really welcoming - a hidden gem 🥰

Don't be put off by the unasuming front of this establishment. The hard working team here, especially the lady runing the show are welcoming and efficient. I like her somewhat no-nonsense way of getting things done. The food is tasty and a great value for money. I would highly recomend this place.

This spot serves a clear, flavorful broth that feels like it heals your soul after a long, exhausting day. Comfort in a bowl- just exactly what you didn’t know you needed.

Literally the best noodles Ive ever had in my entire life. Wok Way is a family friendly restaurant owned by a Chinese family that have been in Bordeaux for 50 years. Extremely kind and friendly. The place is downstairs from my girlfriends apartment and we finally decided to give it a go after a few months of talking about it. Best decision ever! I crave the beef noodles daily but unfortunately they’re gone for vacations for a couple of weeks 😭 (please come back) Highly recommend!!!

Really fantastic, authentic ramen. Took a chance on this place as it was one of few places open at 2pm (because France). Really glad we did though, the hand-pulled freshly made noodles here were fantastic. I had bouillon broth noodles with duck. They noodles were the star, a little chewy to bite, great texture. This is how noodles should be. Broth was tasty without being overpowering, duck was tender and flavourful. Wife had the same broth/noodles but with beef instead. Same story, just really great noodles. Restaurant was relatively empty (granted it was after 2pm when everyone's having a snooze) so there wasn't much atmosphere to speak of, but it made for a nice peaceful lunch so we didn't mind.

Nestled in the serene Hotel de Ville neighborhood, Bistrot Le Charabia is a delightful addition to Bordeaux's culinary scene. Open from early morning until the wee hours, this charming bistro serves up seasonal French classics that are sure to please any palate.
Service and food are very good. A bit pricey though

Very nice meal in this neighborhood bistro, short menu but plenty of options which means that they home cook with fresh ingredients. Been there several times, always delicious! Tasty beef tartare, fish meal with the catch of the day, superb veal dish with purée de pommes de terre, a pork terrine, beef with sautéed potatoes, etc. Fantastic desserts as in a tarte Tatum, chocolate tart, riz au lait with salted caramel, tarte à la rhubarbe, etc. Delicious pommeau de Normandie, pr armagnac, wine by the glass that changes often enough. One of my favorite go-to-bistrot! Love it !

The ambience and the staff are great. It has a small dinner menu, 4 starters, 4 main courses and 2 desserts. Prices are a bit at the high end 22 Euros average per dish. Small portions but not too bad, tasteswise- average. I would skip the desserts.

Having dined there twice, I can confidently say it's worth returning to. While some reviews may not reflect its true value, the experience here stands out among other Bordeaux eateries. The service is friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall atmosphere. Highlights from the menu include their incredible carpaccio and filet de boeuf, which are simply unforgettable.

Located in the heart of Pessac near Bordeaux, Château Haut Bacalan has a rich history dating back to 1726 when it was owned by Baron de Montesquieu. This esteemed philosopher planted vines on the estate before selling it to M de Bacalan, after whom the property is named. The chateau offers an excellent selection of wines and hosts open house events with themed evenings, making it an ideal destination for wine enthusiasts.
Very nice wine, good prices and nice parties
Achille G — Google review
A horrible service. The owner was grumpy and got irritated when we asked him about the price. He literally said: “What do you want from me on a Sunday when we’re supposed to be closed”. Even though we called them earlier and asked if it was ok to come there and they said yes. So it was an unpleasant experience for us. I’ve been to a chateau in Saint Emilion and it was a lovely experience there.

(Translated by Google) Attracted by the good Google rating, big disappointment on arrival. Kind welcome, however 15 minutes before I was finally presented with the menu, then 10 more minutes before my order was taken, and again to tell me that the starter and the main course that I had chosen were not no longer available. Bad surprise also on the prices: starters €4.5, main courses €11.9, dessert €4.5. No formula reducing the score. And I'll let you admire in the sample photo in my dish at 11.9€ the huge low side of at least 90g... In summary, how to think of yourself as a gastro without having the scale.

Ended up here after being detoured on our route north. Found it because of accident but that was where the bad luck ended, great fresh beautifully cooked food, friendly staff and attentive service. If you’re ever near here I wouldn’t hesitate to give it a try. We had the menu of the day 3 courses for 16€ absolutely delicious 😋

We told the waitress that our fish was lukewarm: she kindly offered to heat it up for us, but our plates remained on the serving hatch for a long time, and while our fish was piping hot, the fries were cold 😒 The same comment from the table next to us: "It would have been better served hot!" On the other hand, the waitress is working hard!!! What a lovely experience to do the 90 minute tour with Daniele. We started in the beautiful gardens of the estate and then we visited the cellars. The wine tasting was superb! We purchased 6 bottles and left very content. I highly recommend a visit to this chateau if you are visiting the Bordeaux region. Can I please rate with 6 stars? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

With Daniel, I and my wife truly enjoyed the tour. The Chateau is very historical and has a classic atmosphere. Daniel was so kind and gave us a genuinely vivid explain, which was very excited.

Tasty wine. Their wine selection was quite nice . Their prices were all over the board, but it comes with the industry. Their staff were friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We missed the tour times but we did a self tour and it was just fine. This place inside and outside were super clean which was wonderful to see. Overall if you love wine definitely swing by and try some as nothing we had disappointed us.

We did a wine tasting and tour of the grounds, Daniela was our guide and did an excellent job explaining the history of the vineyard and the winemaking process making our experience great! The chateau is beautiful and we got to explore the gardens on our own as well while enjoying some wine after the tour was over. Overall a great experience!

We did the winemaker workshop at Château Pape Clément, and it was the best thing we did in Bordeaux! Daniela (shoutout to Daniela, she’s amazing!) was our personal guide. Since there wasn’t anyone else in our workshop, it ended up being just my partner and me, so we had a private tour of the entire château. We were also very lucky to catch the last glimpse of grapes on the vines right before the harvest. The entire tour lasted about two hours, starting from the shop entrance, then through the garden, the vines, the vat and cellar, and finally making our own blend of wine. The whole customer journey was clearly planned very deliberately and thoughtfully. Daniela was very knowledgeable and detailed in her explanation (she has a master’s degree in wine) when she walked us through the history of the château, the grapes on the vines, the winemaking process in the vat etc. She also guided us with very clear instructions during the tasting and wine making session. Both my partner and I felt like we had never been to any wine tasting session anywhere else that is so detailed. We had lots of fun here, and this workshop was absolutely worth it!
Steph T — Google review
We did the 5 senses tasting as we thought this would be extra special. To be honest next time I would go with the normal tour - or visit another winery. Cost was relatively high and this is the first time I’ve done a chateaux wine tasting and not wanted to buy the wine! The 5 senses Tasting was a gimmick and really didn’t promote effectively what are undoubtedly delicious wines!
Dan A — Google review
Beautiful chateau, but the tour itself was just okay — the group was too large to hear the guide clearly, and it felt overpriced for what was offered. They don’t even have the charming underground wine cellars one might expect. The tasting, although done standing, was still enjoyable.
Ingrid O — Google review
We had the “5 senses” tour and workshop which was very interesting and learned a lot. Our tour guide Daniella was knowledgeable, kind and funny, she made the experience even better for us. Great wines. We highly recommend 🍷✨

I had a beautiful beef tartare with fries, dame blanches for dessert and drank nice red wine with the food and had an espresso with the dessert

Bad ambient and sad vibe. The owner is too tiresome with stupid jokes. Not recommended for couples.

(Translated by Google) A few months ago, while I was visiting Bordeaux with colleagues, we ate at Les Pizzas d'Emily. The pizzas were truly excellent. Now that I live in Floirac, I wanted to rediscover that quality and have it delivered from Pessac, but what I received... was absolutely not a pizza. The dough was completely burnt, with an unpleasant, almost inedible taste. It's incomprehensible to serve this to customers, especially considering the price paid for delivery.

(Translated by Google) We have been ordering here for several years, but after a big disappointment with the quality of the dough, I had to call because it was impossible to finish. I was told that there was an air conditioning problem and that the dough no longer rises the same. 1 month later I called before ordering to make sure the problem was resolved. I was told that there had never been a problem but that the dough is now better. The results are even worse than before: smaller pizza, poor quality food and the dough is too salty, dry and bad. We will never order again.
