Mikri Vigla in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Mikri Vigla, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Mikri Vigla on Naxos is known for its long, sandy beaches with clear, shallow waters, backed by low dunes and a relatively quiet, laid-back atmosphere. The area is especially popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers thanks to steady Meltemi winds on the north-facing beach, while the more sheltered southern side offers calmer swimming. Simple tavernas near the shore serve local Greek dishes, and the village provides a relaxed base within driving distance of Naxos Town and other island sights.
With favorites like Agia Anna beach, Agios Prokopios Beach, and Stelios Traditional Greek Taverna, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Stelios Traditional Greek Taverna and Thalasea Bar Restaurant Mikri Vigla Naxos so you can get the best taste of Mikri Vigla while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Mikri Vigla Beach

4.7
(3408)
Mikri Vigla Beach, located in Naxos, Greece, is a stunning destination with its golden sand and clear turquoise waters. Divided into north and south sides by granite slabs and boulders, the beach offers a rare geological phenomenon of impressive rocky formations and cedar trees. It's popular among visitors for its two sides that provide options for swimming and relaxation regardless of the wind direction.
Our favourite beach in Naxos. We went here a few times. It has a secret beach around the rocks with its own natural pool. The water is unbelievably clear and sheltered on windy days. Not too crowded with some shady spots. Only one small section of chairs so it’s mostly natural which is awesome. Must visit while you are there.
Thivanka S — Google review
Absolutely loved this beach! You can either rent a sunbed (20–25€) or just relax on the soft sand with your own towel. The water is crystal clear and the sand is smooth—perfect for a chill day. I visited during the third week of September and it was ideal: warm, sunny, and not crowded at all. Just note, after 16:30 the wind picks up and the water starts to feel chilly.
Julian M — Google review
Beautiful beach with very unique stone formations. You can climb those and use them to chill or jump into the water (carefully). Water is crystal clear - see photos. Road leading here is nothing to be afraid of - regular car can reach it essily. There is big free parking nearby and some restaurants with all that is needed for a day spent on the beach.
Ľubomír Ž — Google review
Absolutely loved this beach at the right hand end away from the sunbeds. If you climb up over the rocks there is an awesome little cove which is very sheltered. We had a great day here. There’s a new bakery about 4 mins walk with super friendly staff.
Lynette M — Google review
My favourite beach in Naxos. There are some trees where you can hide from the sun. Crystal clear water and nicely sandy beach. Part with trees (closer to tavern) is unorganized but hidden from the wind. There is also a good tavern with good food and friendly staff.
Beata E — Google review
I feel weird rating a natural place like a beach. It’s not like the beach can improve itself 🤣 but anyway I do like that it’s well taken care of. In fact most of the Naxos beaches seemed to be well taken care of which makes me happy to see in a world full of unfortunately dirty trashy beaches🥲. So that’s great. Also we did get some umbrellas with sunbeds here which was nice. Just keep in mind it can be expensive. Btw the pina colada was my favorite pina colada from the whole trip ! ;)
Joanna C — Google review
An amazing beach … with crystal water and nice sand . I totally recommend. It’s had many options for food around , beach bars and also a taverna (restaurant) Usually many people visit that beach but it’s has space for everyone
Ntinos — Google review
Just a very beautiful beach, and even though it is a popular site, very calm and relaxing. Stuff to do (sea canoe, sea bike etc for hire) even some wind surfing and kite surfing schools a bit further down the beach. And at the north end you can park and find the Mikri Vigla beach restaurant - awesome !!

Restaurant
Kontos Taverna, a renowned restaurant in Naxos, has a rich history dating back to 1986 when it was established by Antonis and Maria Salteri on the tranquil beach of Mikri Vigla. Despite Maria's non-professional culinary background, her deep knowledge of Greek traditional flavors and local specialties inherited from her mother shaped the restaurant's menu.
I had the pleasure of dining at this stunning restaurant with a truly breathtaking view, the kind that instantly sets the mood for something special. I tried the slow-cooked marinated pork, which was incredibly tender and rich in flavor, paired perfectly with sweet potato . zucchini balls as a starter. The dish was a beautiful balance of sweet and sour, deeply satisfying and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the whole experience even more memorable. Definitely worth the visit, both for the view and the food! The hospitality was exceptional, warm, attentive and genuinely welcome . Thank you 🙏🏽
Maria A — Google review
Traditional Greek taverna with some modern twists. They offer fresh grilled fish but expect to pay 25+ euros per fish (sea bass / sea bream). If you want fish, I'd suggest sharing one and getting two appetizers. The roasted pork in fig sauce was delicious if you are not into seafood. They also gave us a small free dessert at the end. Beautiful views including the sunset, however, check the wind before deciding to sit outside. During a windy day, you can watch the kitesurfers. Super friendly staff. Dog friendly but watch out for the cats!
James R — Google review
The restaurant is excellent, especially for watching the sunset – the view is absolutely beautiful. The moussaka was truly the best of the best. I highly recommend it! They also provide you with a dessert and a starter on the house. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
Manca P — Google review
Incredible food. So many fresh veg dishes (which was a nice treat) and salads. Not so common on the island. Affordable prices and excellent flavors. The beach and sea views off the patio are worth the trip alone. We came on a windless day, then popped out for a swim. 👌
Cory R — Google review
While the restaurant's location, views, and service were exceptional, the food was average. The pastissio and moussaka were ok. The quality of the food seemed good but it was lacking in some flavor. The little appetizer we ordered was almost like a tuna salad and was a little below average, I wouldn't recommend it. Perhaps other items on the menu offer more flavor.
Bridget L — Google review
Great food! Amazing staff! Great place to spend time for a lunch and dinner.
Boban V — Google review
Amazing experience, huge portions, excelent taste, great location. Would warmly recommend. Service was top notch !!! We had lamb lemonatto And roasted pork
Vlad G — Google review
An unsuspecting contender for our favourite meal. After having a really bad experience waiting to be served elsewhere, we came here. The staff were so attentive. We had the lamb, moussaka and gigantes. The lamb was the best I’d had in 2 weeks in Greece. The gigantes were insanely good too. Great food, nice views and friendly service. Wish we found it earlier.

Beaches
Plaka Beach on Naxos is a stunning stretch of coastline with clear blue Aegean waters and soft, white sand. It offers a mix of local and tourist beachgoers, along with trendy beach bars nestled among the dunes. The southeastern side maintains an unspoiled feel where farmland meets the beach. Visitors can enjoy endless golden sands, crystal clear waters, and various water sports.
One of the best beaches we went in Greece (Paros, Naoussa, Antiparos, Tinos…) Nice sandy beach, no rocks Accessible by bus We stopped at Plakafe and walked 300m south to avoid more crowded part. End of August temperatures were great and less crowded Umbrella and 2 beach chairs were 30euros for the day
Mathieu H — Google review
Windy, and loud with airport to the east. North side has all the restaurants and shops, south side has more homes. Beautiful views across the water to Paros.
Trevor V — Google review
Quieter beach as it's further out. If you're driving, don't drive to the Google maps of the beach itself as it'll bring you to an area with limited parking. There is a dedicated parking lot closer to the bars of the beach
J L — Google review
The beach is spacious and never too crowded. The sand varies depending on the area—some parts have fine, beautiful sand, while others are a bit coarser. It’s not perfectly clean everywhere, but overall it’s pleasant. The water, however, is absolutely stunning—crystal clear, incredibly clean, and full of vibrant, beautiful colors that look even better in person.
Aleksandar Z — Google review
Loved this beautiful beach! The family had a lot of fun swimming in the sea & clicking gorgeous pictures ❤️. We had access to a near by hotel which made it easier for us to change and freshen up.
Ritu N — Google review
The beach is mostly sandy, making it ideal for relaxing and playing. However, I recommend wearing beach shoes, as some areas have scattered rocks that can be uncomfortable
Hani M — Google review
Beach is definitely more quite and empty comparing to Agios Prokopios, however the price for the two sun beds is the same (30€)with much lower quality (at Agios Prokopios you get the first raw for that price, bar with toilet, food, drinks and waiters). It’s definitely nice if you want to bring your own stuff (like umbrella or a tent). We were about to stay there but got disappointed because of the big flat rocks in the water that were quite uncomfortable.
Natalia C — Google review
Nice beach, clear water, sandy beach, some rocks in the shallows. Not many amenities, only shop we found was near the bus stop. Some naturists a bit of a stroll down the beach.

Paralia Mikri Vigla, located on the west coast of Naxos, is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts and adventure seekers. The beach offers excellent conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing due to its strong winds. Despite being less ideal for weak swimmers, the crystal-clear waters and soft, mild winds make it an exotic paradise. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing atmosphere with few crowds, especially in early June when the beach is less crowded.
Absolute paradise! Emerald waters and beautiful white sand! Comfortable space for parking. There is an organized part but the beach is big enough for someone to place their own equipment
Theodoro A — Google review
A stunning little beach that was the perfect place for our extended family to watch the kite surfers, paddle, swim, play bat and ball and explore. Easy parking at the top and a gentle path down. We based ourselves in the little harbour area which was great for little ones. Over the headland are some more amazing views and another beautiful cove. Along the beach, a 10 minute walk or so is a lovely taverna where we enjoyed lunch.
Julie — Google review
Great kite/wind/wing surf spot when the Meltemi visits it. But also other winds would make this an amazing spot. It has a sandy beach with plenty of room. When it's not windy you could probably have nice relaxing day here.
Aede W — Google review
Among the beaches that we visited on Naxos, this one was my favorite. It's a great place for anyone who is looking for less crowded spots. In first half of june, there were perhaps 20 people on the whole beach at times. The water is crystal-clear and of a really nice blue colors. Soft sand covers practicaly this whole place. The only downside is that it can be a bit windy sometimes. Then the place isn't great for swimming, as there are many kite surfers. However, if you're one of them, you're going to enjoy it here.
Anže M — Google review
Perhaps the best beach of the island when the winds are 2.5 Beaufort or less.
Vasileios L — Google review
Nice beach. Plenty of space and not too many loungers compared to the ones closer to Chora. Sea good for swimming.
Ben R — Google review
Nice sandy beach but mainly for surfers and kite surfers. Unfortunately both restaurants nearby are of low quality
George K — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach but really popular with surfers and kite surfers so not safe for swimming unfortunately…

Restaurant
Taverna Axiotissa in Kastraki, Naxos is highly recommended by French traveler David Berchoux for its fantastic setting, top-notch service, and a great menu featuring original creations made with fresh organic products. The restaurant is known for serving the best swordfish on the island, cooked to perfection. Additionally, their braised wild rabbit dish called kouneli riganato is a must-try.
really delicious food with a wonderful atmosphere! spent the day having an extended lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it. the warm hummus is a must order! the outdoor patio was cute and the cats were lovely company as well
Sophie B — Google review
The food is still very tasty, but unfortunately the large crowd cannot be properly served. We had made a reservation, and when we arrived our table was not ready (it hadn’t been cleared from the previous reservation). To avoid waiting, they seated us at a small two-person table even though we were three, which meant there wasn’t enough space for the dishes we had ordered. Although we had requested our child’s meal to be served with priority, it ended up arriving last.
ILIAS K — Google review
The food was really good and the restaurant is in an amazing at atmosphere and view of the sea/beach. The service however was mid/decent-ish. There were a lot of cats which was fun.
Lorant B — Google review
Not worth the hype. The food was good. I really have nothing bad to say, but it’s not as good as its fame ensures. It’s just a good food that you will not remember again in your life. I think the target group are only foreign tourists that don’t know about Greek cuisine. For the rest of us Greeks, we’ve tasted endless of better recipes of their menu. The island has so many hidden hens with local food and their own produce, in half the prices, I would never consider Axiotissa again. Excellent service and they sure have good quality but really nothing memorable or amazing to worth the prices.
Jοanna M — Google review
Axiotissa was so good that during our 7-day stay in Naxos, we ended up eating there on half the nights. The food is super fresh — a lot of the veggies come straight from their own garden. The vibe is really relaxed, and the owners and staff are incredibly friendly. No matter how busy it got, the atmosphere always felt easygoing and welcoming. Everyone in our group — both Greeks and non-Greeks — absolutely loved it. The food is based on traditional Greek recipes but done in a modern, creative way. Every dish had something a little special that made it stand out. We were so impressed, we even bought their cookbook so we could try making some of the dishes at home. Well done!
Viki N — Google review
I’m so focused on my dinner at Axiotissa that taking food photos is simply out of the question — the plates don’t last long enough! This year we were lucky enough to visit twice, even managing to get a table on a Saturday night without a reservation, and once again enjoyed what is easily our favorite restaurant on Naxos. Like books, not every restaurant is for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine. But I can’t relate to the “attitude” complaints I’ve read in some reviews — once you taste their food, your mood will change instantly. For me, the negative remarks feel entirely misplaced.
Helena C — Google review
Like another review, it was just not worth the hype for us. We have had lots of delicious meals, in unexpected tavernas over our holiday in Greece. This left us wanting and expecting more. Service was great, atmosphere lovely. It may just depend on your choice of meal.
Katy N — Google review
A lovely taverna with a beautiful view and wonderful atmosphere. We got lucky with a seat because we didn’t book a reservation but they were kind to accommodate us. There was a friendly cute cat keeping everyone company. The food was delicious, very different from the usual fare we had had in Naxos. Would love to go back

Stelios Traditional Greek Taverna is a hidden gem that offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to unwind after a day at the beach. Nestled under unique trees, this charming restaurant provides lovely views and serves delicious meals made from fresh produce sourced directly from Mr. Stelios's garden. The friendly staff treats guests like family, ensuring everyone feels welcome and well taken care of.
One of the few restaurants open in the area during mid-May. Very friendly service and dog friendly. Charming outdoor seating with partial sea view. We had Greek salad, stuffed grape leaves, a kebab and pork souvlaki. The salad and grape leaves were decent but the pork souvlaki was very good (juicy!). The kebab was more of a sausage than an actually hand made minced meat kebab, so that was slightly disappointing. It was more than the two of us could eat so we basically had an extra dish to take home. We will go again since it was a pleasant experience and near where we are staying.
James R — Google review
If you want a meal that tastes like a hug from grandma, this is the place to go. This gorgeous family owned restaurant has the most incredible food cooked with love. We stayed on the island for two nights and visited countless times. We felt like part of the family with warm hugs upon entry. If you go no where else on the island, you must go here.
Tez M — Google review
This is as close as it gets to authentic Greek grandma cooking — absolutely delicious. A family-run spot for 35 years, with the grandma and her son in the kitchen, it truly feels like eating at a relative’s home. Fresh bread, great salads, warm home-cooked dishes — I ate here every day and loved every meal. Super friendly, kind, and professional owners. If you’re after real homemade Greek food, it doesn’t get better than this.

Food was amazing - pork gyros, chicken souvlaki, greek salad and a homemade cake. Was greeted coming from my car and warmly welcomed inside by a woman and man I’m assuming were the owners. Very nice and very speedy for the food to be ready - wish we came across this place earlier on the trip

This has been our favourite taverna in Greece so far. Maria is so welcoming and makes you feel at home with a smile on her face and happy to see and serve you. All the family are very friendly and make you feel like one of the family. The food is so good and delicious with generous serves and catered for my allergies with no problem. I cannot recommend this place enough. We stumbled on it by accident and enjoyed our 3 dinners there out of the 6 nights we were in Naxos. This place is a gem!! I wish I could give it more stars!!
Lisa S — Google review
Great service, view even with a new building in between the restaurant & ocean, and food— not at all like what the one star reviews stars experienced. I also have celiac disease & many food allergies and the server/family were very happy to accommodate me. 4 ONLY because much of the fish & squid was not fresh caught, but to be clear it tasted fresh & delicious.

Excellent value for money. Super tasty with Hugh plates and excellent service. I had pork gyros. Cooked very well with crispy fries. Can highly recommend. My favourite in migri vigla so far.

A very nice Taverna in Orkos Beach area. The staff are very friendly but also very busy. The food was satisfying and a party of 4 could eat for about 50-60€. If you're staying in the area a few days you should give it a try for dinner.

Loved the ambiance. Quiet, perfect for watching the sunset and a bit further up from the water and beach. Excellent seafood pasta, would recommend and it’s dairy free. Would be nice to have a few more dairy free options but I can’t complain much as what I ate was delicious!

The food here was simply outstanding! I highly recommend the carbonara pasta (I know it's not a Greek thing, but the ingredients and the way it was prepared was superb). I thought about this pasta for the duration of our trip and couldn't find one that tasted as good as the one from Thalasea. The location is gorgeous as well with sunset views and the staff were extremely friendly. We were given complimentary drinks upon our exit. The liquor was house made and I would have certainly bought a bottle if I was a drinker; it was very tasty!

**Review for Thalasea Bar Restaurant at Mikri Vigla, Naxos** Thalasea Bar Restaurant at Mikri Vigla, Naxos, is truly the world's most beautiful bar on the seaside. The breathtaking view of turquoise blue waters and stunning kite surfing scenes make it an unparalleled destination. The bartenders are super friendly, making you feel welcome and taken care of from the moment you arrive. Sipping a cold beer while watching Europe's best Mediterranean kite surfing videos is an experience like no other. My son had a great time sitting at the bar, enjoying his drinks and soaking in the lively atmosphere. The food is nothing short of amazing, featuring the best local Greek cheese that adds a rich, authentic flavor to each dish. The owner, Zora, is an incredible person with an ever-smiling face. Her warmth and hospitality elevate the experience, making it truly special. I have never been to a more beautiful bar in the world. Thalasea Bar Restaurant is a gem that offers a perfect blend of stunning views, delicious food, and exceptional service. Don't miss it when you're in Naxos!

Nestled along the stunning shores of Mikri Vigla, Liofagos Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem that perfectly embodies the charm of this picturesque beach. Known for its serene atmosphere, protected from winds and ideal for water sports enthusiasts, this eatery offers an inviting escape with breathtaking sea views. Guests rave about the traditional Greek dishes served here; their meatballs are a must-try!
What an amazing dining experience. After a few minutes of waiting, we got a small table in the always busy tavern. Respect for the staff. Despite full tables, waiting guests and a lot of work, they were quick and friendly. The food was super tasty and the price was OK.
Sven — Google review
I used to visit this tavern in the past and always recommended it to friends for its excellent grilled meats, especially the veal steak. Unfortunately, my recent experience was nothing short of appalling. The veal steak I was served was inedible — clearly either poorly-badly defrosted or of extremely low quality. The texture was rubbery and full of gristle, and I ended up filling my plate with chewed pieces I simply couldn’t swallow. When I politely pointed this out, the waiter kindly offered to remove the item from the bill, but that wasn’t the point. This dish should never have been served in the first place. Standards have clearly dropped dramatically, and it’s a shame to see a once-reliable place lose all sense of quality and care. I truly hope they reconsider what kind of food they choose to serve — because what I experienced was simply unacceptable.
Antonis — Google review
This is a straight 10 - best tavern in Mikri Vigla, great, super friendly staff. We’ve eaten there many times (and this for years!). The food is amazing, check it out! It can get quite busy at noon and late evening.

This is the best taverna in Mikri Vigla if not in the whole island, by far!!! from the moment we walked in everyone was so welcoming and the atmosphere was amazing. We spent two whole weeks in Naxos and we came back to this taverna every day without fail, it is our happy place! the food was always on point and amazing, favourites were: the meat balls, sea bass, zucchini balls, dakos salad, spicy feta and saganaki (just to name a few). Will definitely be coming back and make trips just to come to this special place.
Shir S — Google review
It’s better than many taverns in the center, very busy, yet very attentive. As a solo traveler, I enjoyed every bit both take away and in seated. And in seated they didn’t regret to seperate tables, even if they don’t have to (many places may not prefer to do it) Thanks to everyone who made me feel valuable as a passenger 🙏🏼🫶🏼

If you are in Naxos you should eat here because it’s the best food form the whole island and the best prices. The taverna is on the beach and the staff is very friendly and kind. Try Dorada on the grill is the best fish I have ever eaten in Greece.

Excellent food and service! Do not believe in the bad reviews. I regret not having eaten at this restaurant before, as we come to Mikri Vigla every year. The food was delicious and super fresh. Service was fast and friendly. The beer was super cold. This place is a gem!

Italian restaurant
Lo Scoglio, an Italian restaurant located within a Kite school, is highly regarded by frequent visitors who appreciate its beautiful setting and delectable cuisine. With a diverse menu that includes classic dishes such as club sandwiches, burgers, and Caprese salad, as well as authentic Italian fare like pasta Carbonara and large pizzas, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The atmosphere at Lo Scoglio is described as uncomplicated and happy, with cool music creating a relaxed ambiance.
I would say this is absolutely our favourite meal in Naxos and possibly in Greece over our two week trip. Our server, I didn't catch his name but was a lovely and positive guy who was dedicated to making us feel truly welcome and enjoy our time there. I can't emphasize enough how much he genuinely went above with his lovely chatting to us. Tried a couple items which were all great, but what really was recommended and stood out is the pizza and pasta. We went for the pizza and shared between three, it was incredibly good. Like an airy base which is incredibly crunchy/crispy and we also opted to split the toppings. Sitting outside near the beach we had a fantastic time, thoroughly recommend this place because you will feel very welcome and enjoy the food!

Very nice staff and great food, we were a big group and they served us very fast. The pictures speak for the plating and the taste were even better. A place not to be missed in Naxos!!

Incredible place for good italian food or for just hanging out for a coffee before or after surfing. The owner even uses the fresh basil from the garden! I'm there every day since I discovered the place, also because everyone is genuinely friendly :) specially liked the free olive shot for the greek salad ;)

We regretted that we found out about this place on our last night. Looking through the reviews I have to guess that they had a bad batch of servers 10 months ago because Mario and the other (I forgot his name!) was amazing. A little extra but in a good way and very funny. He brought up the mood after our evening plans we're foiled. Then the food arrived! Amazing pizza that we did not expect! It was crispy, flavorful, and balanced. We regretted that we found out about this place on our last night because we really wanted to try that gnocchi!

Wow, the pizza!! We went to this spot for lunch on our way out of town and we were blown away by the pizza. Airy dough, tasty sauce and top quality cheese and olive oil. The people working there were very friendly, kind and helpful. We felt their love in the food. We will be back our next time in Náxos!!

How can I explain it with words? I had pizza from an Italian’s chef at sunset. The views were excellent as was the server who was reminiscent of a California expat, though he was likely from Europe. Here is my advice: order a pizza—any pizza—about 40 minutes before sunset and you’re in for a heck of a time. Enjoy!
Mack P — Google review
Our favorite restaurant on the island. Mario and his team are super friendly and truly celebrate the food culture of Naxos. Generous portions – perfect for hungry kitesurfers. Can’t wait to be back!
Martin H — Google review
This place is a true cuisine romance, where Italy falls in love with Greece. A beautiful fusion of two of the world's greatest culinary traditions, this restaurant offers a dining experience that is both delicious and soulful. The food is fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. Every dish tastes like it was made with care and love. But what truly makes this place special is the atmosphere. Mario's energy was shining, and Cecilia's positivity was infectious. Here, they don't just bring you food. They nourish you, uplift you, and create an experience that stays with you for the rest of the day. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates genuine hospitality and unforgettable food.

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Agios Prokopios Beach, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Hawaii Beach. All together, your day would be filled with about 6 hours of non-stop fun.

Agios Prokopios Beach

Beach
Agios Prokopios Beach in Naxos is a popular destination known for its stunning beauty and family-friendly atmosphere. The southern end offers a tranquil setting with minimal infrastructure, making it perfect for a peaceful beach day. Visitors can relax on the long stretch of golden sandy shore and enjoy the crystal-clear turquoise waters, which are protected from strong winds. This Blue Flag awarded beach also provides opportunities for water sports and features a diving club.
Beautiful beach. Crystal clear water very fine sand. No rocks, no algae. About 1km wide. Plenty of sun beds for rental around 25-30 euros for a pair with umbrella. Lots of shops and restaurants around. Great place for a day at the beach. Lots of families.
Francois L — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches of the island, crystal clear water and nice thick sand. A lot of the beach area is covered by annoying paid umbrellas (also very expensive) but sufficient space for placing your own equipment
Andrea D — Google review
Fantastic beach! One of the best on the island and perfect for kids. Super clean water, good sand, decent restaurants close by and bus stop is right in front.
Matthew H — Google review
Nice looking beach. Though, all the good Spots are managed and you have to pay between 30-50€ per sun bed.
Mathias K — Google review
Don't bother looking for a better beach and crystal clear turquoise water on the whole island, Agios Prokopios is the best and it also offers something for everyone. For those who like to completely undress and sunbathe in the nude, they are also free to do so.
Khaled S — Google review
Beatiful beach. You can rent sunbeds for 2 persons for the whole day in the first row for 25 euros. (There are places where it costs twice as much.) The water is crystal clear. You can find a few fishes if you snorkle, but you have to search for them.
Peter B — Google review
I’ve been visiting Agios Prokopios in Naxos for 6 years now, and it’s always been such a beautiful beach. But honestly… what’s going on with all the chairs and sunbeds lately? People please come to the beach to enjoy the beach, sun, sea, not to feel like you’re in a pool bar. It’s getting a bit too much when you actually have to struggle to find a free spot on the sand without rows of sunbeds.
RENE S — Google review
Honestly could have been in the Caribbean! Perfectly clear turquoise water and soft golden sand. Lots of great restaurants and sunbeds were more reasonably priced than Plaka / Georgos beaches. Lovely atmosphere. I went to El Greco a few times as they had a good offer for third row sunbeds at €15 for the day.

Hotel
Nestled in the charming Agios Prokopios area of Naxos Island, 18 Grapes Hotel is a luxurious boutique hotel offering celebrity treatment and top-notch service. The hotel features high-end architecture and design, providing breathtaking sea views, private pools, and jacuzzies for a serene island experience. Guests can indulge in Greek-Mediterranean cuisine at the on-site restaurant with romantic sunset views and wine tastings featuring their own label of wines made at a nearby vineyard.
BOOK HERE NOW! We spent seven nights here on our honeymoon and it was the most incredible hotel we've stayed at. Everything was incredible! The staff were super friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Any service you could think of was available. The laundry bag was such a bonus, where you could get a big bag of your laundry done for 30 Euros. The food was nothing short of incredible and the sunset bar had amazing views. The pool was never crowded and always relaxing and it's such a short walk to some of the most stunning beaches! We had a separate entrance to our room and a private hot tub where we could control the temperature. The staff knew it was our honeymoon and gave us a complimentary little cake and sweet note upon arrival! Everyone went above and beyond for the best hotel experience. We can't recommend it enough!!

This is an absolute gem. Everything about it was first class. From the time we walked in, we were treated like VIPs. We were introduced to staff and management and given a grand tour. The staff here are amazing. They are very knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. The location is really good, the beach is a short stroll and there is quality shopping and restaurants close at hand. The rooms are spotless, very comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant poolside is fantastic, the food and service is excellent. Naxos is a great place and 18 Grapes is a perfect base. Highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived at this stunning 5-star hotel, we were completely swept away by the hospitality, the elegance, and the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings. The staff welcomed us with genuine warmth and made every moment of our stay feel personal and effortless. Our suite was spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, with a private heated pool The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail in the room. Breakfast each morning was a highlight: fresh, locally sourced, and beautifully presented. The infinity pool was peaceful and serene, with just the right balance of privacy and service. Location-wise, the hotel is close enough to explore Naxos Town via local bus, or a minute walk to the beach. If you’re looking for luxury, authenticity, and exceptional service all in one place—this hotel is it.

Rooms and service was exemplary. Truly a unique experience and they take the time to take care of any of your needs. 5-star boutique hotel that meets the same standards as any chain 5-star hotel. You MUST visit their vineyard (Yamas!) They give you a private tour and you meet the owner of the hotel, vineyard, and restaurant. Loved every aspect of this tiny hotel and island.

Spa experience was lovely. Had an amazing massage by lovely woman with dark curly hair- sorry I’ve forgotten your name! This has to be the nicest hotel on Naxos in beautiful location. It is very new and clean.

This hotel exceeded all expectations. It’s one thing to have beautiful architecture and design, but when it’s matched with heartfelt hospitality, the experience becomes unforgettable. From the crisp white linens to the locally inspired breakfast menu, everything at 18 Grapes feels elevated but never pretentious. We loved the attention to detail and the calm, soothing energy that flows throughout the entire space. We left completely recharged and already planning our return!!
Ελένη Κ — Google review
Our stay at 18 Grapes was extremely special. The hotel is intimate, beautiful, extremely well maintained, and private. Many times we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Everything is done with an exacting eye to detail to make your stay luxurious and tailored to your needs. Concierge was very well educated and everything we could possibly need was able to be booked or procured through them. We had our best meals in our whole Greece trip from here. The food was out of this world delicious!! Then the service… I want to make sure to call out Christine, Giannis (John in English), and Lukas for their kindness, dedication to excellence, and friendliness. They made the stay that much more special and a true treat. Every request was met with a smile and true desire to help. If you are at all questioning whether to book your vacation here, just do it!! You won’t be disappointed.

Our experience at 18 Grapes was nothing short of amazing. The hotel is modern yet infused with Cycladic charm. Our room was spotless, tastefully decorated, and had a balcony with breathtaking sunset views. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, served with a smile every morning. What really stood out was the staff—they were friendly, discreet, and always one step ahead of our needs. This place is a true gem for anyone looking to disconnect, relax, and enjoy the beauty of Naxos!!

Agia Anna Beach, located just south of Agios Prokopios, is a vibrant beach with turquoise waters and a variety of beach clubs and tavernas. The northern end can get wavy at times, but the southern end near the port offers calm waters, making it ideal for families with children. At the southernmost point of the western coast lies Marangas and Plaka beaches, both offering wide sandy areas with some trees and free spaces.
Good spot for snorkling. From a swimming distance from the beach, there is a rock reef with lots of fishes and even turtles if you're lucky. Crystal clear waters and gret sunset. Saw a cuttlefish and 2 octopus, had the best day.
Gautier S — Google review
Best place on Naxos! For me the best beach I have ever seen. Quite small, often quiet, family friendly, with amazing restaurants that replace sunbeds with tables aroun 6, 7 pm so you can literally spend here whole day. You can also find places with reasonable prices. Paradise!
Thomas P — Google review
A lovely beach with so many beachfront bars with sunbeds all along it. It might be best to book ahead if you have a particular favourite as some places couldn't accommodate our large extended family. However, we found a spot and made ourselves comfortable. Lovely sea to swim in with big waves every 30 minutes or so after the big ferries pass by.
Julie — Google review
The beach is beautiful although there are quite some rocks. Also the beach cafes/bars are absolutely tragic. 40€ sunbeds PLUS 40€ consumption per set is absolutely disgusting and such a tourist trap. Agios Prokopios has much better beaches without rocks and the pricing is very much better. Be careful also if you’re at Agia Anna with the bus, it doesn’t have much to do except going to the beach bars/cafes. Don’t waste your day.
Xrysonii B — Google review
I would not recommend this beach, specially when very close by there are other better beaches. The main issues were 1) the large amount of beach bars, 2) the port nearby making the water a bit dirtier, and 3) the strong winds (when other beaches had less wind). One suggestion if you do choose to go here: walk south until after you pass a small rock formation dividing the beach into two (near where the boats are stationed). The south side has better sand and more space for umbrellas, and a little bit less wind.
Luis — Google review
Agia Anna Beach is simply stunning! The crystal-clear waters and serene atmosphere make it a true paradise. With plenty of space to spread out and relax, complete with beach chairs and umbrellas, it's the perfect spot for a day of sun and sea. Plus, the surrounding area offers a plethora of fantastic restaurants to satisfy any craving. Overall, Agia Anna Beach is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to soak up the beauty of Naxos's coastline.
Roopie R — Google review
Worst beach experience in Greece. Its one giant tourist trap, the beach clubs occupy all the room on the beach and the only small portion without paid chairs is next to a busy road. Go literally anywhere else unless you enjoy being scammed out of 30-50 €
Giovanni — Google review
Feels like paradise! Gorgeous sand, clear blue water. Visited in early June and it was peaceful and relaxing. Lots of options for beds and umbrellas, or just a towel and the shade. Lots of great options for lunch, dinner and cocktails.

Beaches
Hawaii Beach in Naxos, Greece is a remote and serene sandy strip with smooth rock formations and stunning views of nearby hotel ruins. The beach is known for its vertical reddish cliffs that create a striking contrast with the yellow sand and blue waters. It's a tranquil spot where naturists may be spotted, although they tend to prefer the more isolated Kedros beach nearby. Accessible from Alyko, there are no public buses directly to the beach, but visitors can walk from there.
Absolutely beautiful place, had it all to myself for sunset. The hotel ruins have some amazing street art and the path down to the secluded beach is plenty doable. The water is crystal clear (like most of Naxos) and watching the sun set over the nearby islands was magical
Karen F — Google review
Beach itself had shade for the first half of the day which was handy because there is absolutely nothing else for shade. No toilets. Shore had enough depth for a swim and it had sand for added comfort. Nice views of Paros. Well protected from the northern winds currently smashing Naxos chora. 30min+ drive. Busses apparently do run there but I went by taxi. A short stroll through dry sandy shrub-land from the road. The trail going down to the beach won’t suit people with knee problems or larger frames. I enjoyed the beach but nearby Alyko beach in my opinion was better (max 200m walk) had stunning views of nearby mountains and the little church perched on the point. Dreamy. Water felt calmer there. Definitely worth visiting too as well as the abandoned hotel with graffiti. There’s also a great little food truck on the road for lunch and icecream which hit the spot. All within easy walking distance. A nice little daytrip itinerary for any solo travellers. Felt safe and wasn’t too crowded.
Kat D — Google review
Hawaii Beach is a wonderful small beach tucked under cliffs, giving it a quiet, private feel. It’s a beautiful spot, more suited for couples than families. The wind hits constantly, so it has more waves than other beaches, but still safe enough for kids to enjoy. No facilities around, so bring your own stuff. Definitely a must-visit stop in Naxos.
Julian M — Google review
Wonderful Beach with beautiful Rocks(clay) There is no Road to get to the beach. Need to climb down from Rocks. Worth to visit. We spend while day with kids. Nice Beach, suitable also for small Kids.
U-aura U — Google review
Rocky in most parts and not a super easy access but liked the little private cover along the beach. No shade so may want to bring cover.
Becky K — Google review
No facilities to speak off but a huge amount of parking and a short walk over scrubland to the beach. Take everything you need: locals had rigged up sunshades and brought cool boxes. We just had towels. Wet shoes might also be useful as there were a couple of anemones near a rocky patch. Choose your area carefully for easy access into the sea. Once you're in it's beautiful! A great place to fly a kite too.
Julie — Google review
Some of the reviews and photos are getting Hawaii Beach confused with Alyko Beach. The hotel ruins in some photos are barely visible from Hawaii Beach, but dominate Alyko Beach, so they really are meaningless to your understanding of Hawaii Beach. The main thing about Hawaii Beach is that you have to navigate a ravine, a narrow passage between rock walls to get to the sand. It's not difficult for most people, just crawl low and touch walls to steady yourself, and you'll be fine. The beach itself is clean, narrow but very pleasant, with good views to Paros. I'd say the difficulty to reach it by foot makes it more pristine than most beaches because visitors must travel light, and pack just the essentials.
Ed M — Google review
Beautiful place with beautiful views. Too bad this iconic place will be demolished. Worth visiting before they take it down.

The Island Bar of Naxos has been a beloved spot since 1987, situated on the picturesque Agia Anna beach. It has maintained its authentic charm amidst the island's touristy developments. The outdoor patio offers a relaxing setting to enjoy drinks while taking in the stunning beach views. With its eclectic music and expertly crafted cocktails, this bar provides a unique experience that captures the essence of Greek summer beach vibes.
Loved this bar! Best time to sit there is during sunset to enjoy the view. There are a lot of amazing cocktails to try, you won’t be disappointed 🍸

Location and decor are nice. Good place to have a drink. More of a vibe than lots of other places along the same beach. Only drawback was that the staff seemed more interested in talking to and hanging out with each other than looking after the guests.
