Faunistic Park Le Cornelle, located in Valbrembo, is a modern wildlife sanctuary that goes beyond the traditional concept of a zoo. Established in 1981 by Angelo Ferruccio Benedetti, this park focuses on the conservation of endangered species like the majestic white Bengal tiger within naturalistic habitats. Spanning an impressive 100,000 square meters, it houses a diverse array of mammals, birds, and reptiles from around the globe.
Lovely place and the animals were pretty It was calm and very good experience Highly recommend to both kids and adults

One if the best experiences we had as a family visiting Bergamo, its a must if you like animal parks. The animals was in great condition very clean in great areas and well taken care of.
Christos V — Google review
We came on a rainy day but the place is so nice we didn't even notice. I saw some animals for the first time in my life that live in tropical areas. We had only one hour to visit but it was not enough to see everything. We will come back for sure.
Razvan A — Google review
Luckly found this zoo when trying to find things to do in the area while on holiday. What a surprise. Very cheap at €24 to get in and was huge. All animals were in good condition and the enclosure were top notch. So much to see and do while there. Definitely worth a visit. To get there we got a 2 buses and then walked about 20 mins. So not really easy accessible if dont have a car but is do able.
Tanya S — Google review
This is an amazing zoo! Good selection of animals. Lot of trees and plants. Clean spaces for animals. Great idea regarding safari train for kids and giraffe feeding. You will see more animals in state owned zoos but it is hard to beat the experience you can have here.
Rafał Ż — Google review
This is a really cool place! It’s a bit hard to reach from Bergamo if you don’t have a car, but not impossible. There’s quite a large variety of animals, some of them in really nice habitats (like the exotic birds). There are many restaurants and places where you can eat your own food, even some playgrounds for kids. There’s a train that takes you around the place and it costs €2. It was not very crowded when we arrived, but we visited on a Saturday at 5PM. By the way, the ticked is €18 if you arrive 3 hours before closing (and 3 hours is more than enough if you don’t have young children). Indeed, some spaces are small for the animals (like the elephants, rhinos, or the big cats) and they looked quite sad. Not necessarily not cared for, but a bit depressy. In my opinion, it’s a really cool place, with lots of animals and if you visit Bergamo, it’s definitely not to be missed!
Roxana V — Google review
Very nice zoo park with a lot of animals. Places to eat in the park and picnic areas.
Mariu S — Google review
Fantastic place for the family many animals to see reptiles, serpents, aquatics, Safari Animals, massive park many trees with chairs and tables for picnics —yes you can bring your own food or you can eat in their restaurants book online for your convenience parking is not free though you have to pay €5.00 fix rate. All in all its an amazing place a must see for kids

La Marianna is a renowned bar and pastry shop known for its delicious fiordilatte gelato enriched with large pieces of dark chocolate. The idea for this delectable treat originated from the recipe for stracciatella alla romana and has been a specialty at La Marianna since 1961. The cafe, currently managed by Niccolo Panattoni, offers seating in a charming shaded courtyard, making it an ideal spot for breakfast or a snack before or after an afternoon concert.
I'm cheating to write this review, because my wife has a special bond with this place. She first sat here writing in her journal in 1998. Even if you don't have a long-term tie to this cafe, you'll really enjoy sitting here. Such a calming vibe.

Very nice place, especially in the evening, great taste of atraciatella and other cakes ❤️ Thanks fot the experience 🙏🏼
Silvia P — Google review
Day trip to Bergamo, I stopped by to try Stracciatella (chocolate chip gelato). It is a birthday place of stracciatella. I am not big chocolate chip ice cream person. It was creamy and it was good. I wanted wafer cone, it is only come in 3 scoops, 4.50 euro. The wafer cone was okay. The other two favors were pistachios and strawberry. Stracciatella was the best of the three. Is it better than other gelato, not really.
Jay S — Google review
The original stracciatella ice cream. Yes,this is much more delicious than anything sold as stracciatella. I became a fan. 🤩 Also tried polenta e osei which is a local specialty and very tasty. Crispy sweet polenta outside and some kind of cream with almond and apricot jam inside. Don't forget to try coffee with zabaglione as well, I loved it!!
Kimberly C — Google review
At La Marianna, the birthplace of Stracciatella, simplicity turns into perfection. A scoop of history, a taste of tradition, and the delicate balance of cream and chocolate that has enchanted the world since 1961. Pure Italian elegance in a cone.

Good Gelato, cozy place, and options of dessert. Even it is chill, the outside terrace is a good place to relax. Gelato recomended: Stratiachella Pistachio
Daniel P — Google review
A Perfect Afternoon at La Marianna – Gelato, Aperol, and Sunshine after a walk from the castello di san vigillio. During my recent visit to Bergamo’s charming Città Alta, I had the pleasure of stopping by La Marianna at Largo Colle Aperto, 4. Seated on their spacious outdoor terrace, I indulged in their specialty affogato a delightful combination of rich espresso poured over their signature La Marianna’s original 1961 creation, stracciatella creamy gelato. Complementing this was a refreshing Aperol Spritz, perfectly balanced and served with a smile. The gelato was creamy and rich, with generous chocolate shavings that melted perfectly on the tongue. It was evident that high-quality ingredients were used, making it one of the best I’ve tasted. The ambiance was serene, with the sun casting a gentle glow and the world leisurely passing by. It’s no wonder La Marianna is renowned not only for inventing the iconic stracciatella gelato in 1961 but also for providing such memorable experiences. If you find yourself in Bergamo, I highly recommend taking a moment to relax at La Marianna. Whether you’re a gelato enthusiast or simply seeking a tranquil spot to unwind, this establishment offers both history and hospitality in equal measure.

The Civic Museum of Natural Sciences in Bergamo, established in 1861, is a great destination for those fascinated by zoology, entomology, geology, and paleontology. Situated near the Archaeological Museum in Piazza della Cittadella, it features an array of intriguing exhibits including a mammoth skeleton, arthropod collection, whale skeleton and precious stones. The museum offers interactive experiences for children to touch stuffed animals and various fossils.
It's a really nice and interesting place, make sure you have at least 2+ hours even though the vast majority of the plaques are only in Italian. An additional bonus is that the ticket is also to the Civic Archaeological Museum right next door.

Totally worth to see. Kids were happy that there were interactive pieces of exhibition. Amount of spieces shown is huge, it was a pleasure to see them so close in detail. I couldn't believe it costs only 3 euros. We spent two hours there, without reading a lot, so I can imagine that more time will be needed if you really want to lok deeper

Superb displays, excellent descriptions (in English as well as Italian), very child-friendly (my 5 year old boy loved it!) and incredible value - only €3 for 3 museums!?

What a great place! The ticket is €3 and it includes the archeological museum as well. It has a very large variety of species, from bugs and minerals to large mammals and dinosaurs. It can be visited and enjoyed by people of all ages, not only children, yet it has some interactive games for kids. They even have some live ants and stick bugs which were really cool. There are 2 things that could be improved. First, the window displays are quite old and could be updated. Second, the explanations and descriptions are in Italian only. They should really translate them to English as well. All in all, great value for money! (We would have paid more if it was a bit more foreiner friendly)

The menu features a variety of traditional dishes expertly crafted by the talented Donatella, including delicious casoncelli and hearty polenta Taragna.
Such an excellent experience! We visited Parco Faunistico Le Cornelle and we were looking for a place to eat. We stumbled upon this restaurant and we were very happy. I think we were the only non-locals in the place, all tables full. Very nice atmosphere, the family which owns and runs the place was extremely pleasant and helpful. For 11 EUR we got the business lunch, which contains first course, second course and a one-time trip to the self-serve buffet, plus water & wine. Food was simple but very good, an authentic experience. Strongly recommend!

I enjoyed the ambience, beautiful garden and my first lunch here, just few weeks after lockdown. However evening experience was not good. Right after we were seated and ordered our meal they started to serve the party we hadn’t been informed about. The service was terribly slow, my steak tartare didn’t seem to be very fresh and even if it looked very good it wasn’t served properly, they didn’t have any Tabasco in house. In the end they made us wait 30 minutes for coffee. When I asked for discount for scarce service the lady offered us a free coffee we didn’t want anymore...

Porta San Giacomo is a stunning white marble gate and stone viaduct that stands as an iconic symbol of Bergamo's old town. This 16th-century structure, part of the Venetian fortifications, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a must-see attraction. The gate's impressive white and pink marble from Zandobbio glows beautifully in the sunlight, creating a magical backdrop for the city.

Beautiful walls from the venetians, free entry and a nice stroll on a good day. You really have to be there to appreciate exactly how grand, thicc and impressive these walls are. Heres some background. Built by the Republic of Venice in the 16th century to defend Bergamo from invaders, these massive stone walls stretch over 6 km and feature bastions, gates, and tunnels. They were never breached in battle and remain one of Europe’s best-preserved Renaissance military structures.

Nestled in the heart of Bergamo, the Donizetti Museum is a tribute to the illustrious composer Gaetano Donizetti, who hails from this charming city. Located within the historic Palazzo della Misericordia Maggiore, this museum offers an immersive experience into Donizetti's life and works. As you step inside, you're welcomed by melodies from his most celebrated compositions.
Kind of stumbled upon this museum by accident - was drawn in by the music playing in the courtyard. Don't know why I'd never heard of Donizetti before - he wrote 77 operas, mostly in Bel Canto style

We had the chance to visit this exotic 19th century atmosphere museum where our beloved Gaetano spent his last days. It was Saturday afternoon (24th June 2017) with super hot weather on that day. Nice Museum with many items on the display including some of the genius personal belongings. Music from Donizetti’s operas echoed around and could be heard all over the museum. The Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is a stunning Romanesque church featuring an elaborate marble porch and a lavishly gilded interior adorned with tapestries. Originally under the administration of the Chapter of San Vincenzo, it was later entrusted to the Congregazione della Misericordia Maggiore. This historic site served as a Collegiate Church until the 1970s and housed its own clergy and seminary.
I love visiting churches when exploring new cities, and this one truly took my breath away. I didn’t expect to find such stunning art and architecture here—absolutely outstanding! A must-visit if you’re in Bergamo. The craftsmanship and atmosphere left a lasting impression.

The most beautiful basilica I’ve ever seen. Every detail is captivating – from the tapestries and wood inlays to the gold accents, paintings, and statues. There’s a sense of harmony and peace inside that makes you want to stay longer and take in every element. You can easily spend a lot of time here just admiring the craftsmanship. The entrance is paid, but it’s absolutely worth it.

The church opens on Piazza Duomo, you can buy tickets as you enter. The external appearance has largely maintained its Romanesque origins, but the interior is largely Baroque. The choir with the wooden reliefs with Biblical tales are spectacular. We visited the church on Sunday, after the service, and it was a little crowded, but not disturbing. We also had live organ music throughout the visit, I don't know if it's like that every day, or just on Sundays. The music contributed a lot to the whole atmosphere.

Located in Bergamo’s Città Alta, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore was built in the 12th century. Its Romanesque-Lombard exterior contrasts with a richly Baroque interior. Originally serving as the baptismal church for the Cathedral of San Vincenzo, it stands beside the historic episcopal curia, preserving centuries of sacred heritage.

Rome - Italy 🇮🇹 The Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major (Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore) is one of the four major papal basilicas in Rome and the largest Catholic church in the world dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The Colleoni Chapel, located in Bergamo, is a stunning 15th-century funerary chapel known for its colored marble exterior and frescoed ceiling. This Italian Renaissance masterpiece is dedicated to Saints Bartholomew, Mark, and John the Baptist and features an overwhelming mass of decoration that dazzles the eye.
The tickets are 5 euros (used to be free), however I think it was worth to pay, since I could not take my eyes off the artwork. Very beautiful and majestic, worth a visit

Asking an entrance fee AND not being allowed to take pictures is unacceptable. Especially because of all the damage the catholic church has caused to humanity Allowing free visits is the least they should do for reparations

The Colleoni Chapel in Bergamo’s Upper Town, Piazza Duomo, is a Renaissance gem commissioned by Bartolomeo Colleoni as his mausoleum. Built between 1472 and 1476 by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, it replaced part of Santa Maria Maggiore, sparking controversy. Today, it stands as a symbol of artistic and historical grandeur.

While many are drawn to the quirky three testicles on Colleoni's family emblem outside on the fence (which is definitely worth a peek or even a touch for good luck), I highly recommend stepping inside. And see its ornate architecture, frescoes and sculptures. It's clear Colleoni wanted to leave behind a truly remarkable legacy. It's a powerful and beautiful testament to his heritage. Don't miss the chance to explore the interior – it's an unforgettable experience! And you just need to put 1 Euro (or more to enter).

Battistero is located near the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, making it convenient to visit both. Despite its unassuming exterior, this white marble cathedral surprises visitors with its grandeur once they step inside.
This striking octagonal Baptistery at Piazza del Duomo’s western edge in Città Alta features the recurring theme of eight. Its bas-reliefs depict Jesus’ life, sculpted by Giovanni da Campione. Statues outside the dome represent eight virtues, including Patience, adding symbolic depth to its unique architectural and spiritual presence.

It is the Baptistery of Piazza Duomo, located in the heart of the Upper Town, in a beautiful little square that has been restored to its former glory thanks to a renovation worthy of its historical and artistic value. The Baptistery, built in 1340 by Giovanni da Campione, is characterized by an octagonal shape and an elegant loggia with columns of red Veronese marble. Its façade is enriched with statues representing the Theological and Cardinal Virtues. Inside, the baptismal font is decorated with bas-reliefs depicting the life of Jesus, the work of the same 14th-century master. Located opposite the Cathedral of Sant'Alessandro, the Baptistery underwent numerous moves over the centuries before finding its final location in 1898-99 on the west side of Piazza Duomo, where we can admire it today in all its splendor. (Translated by Google) It's very beautiful, but what I find truly interesting is the fact that it has been used several times to host contemporary art installations... the dialogue between the past and the present is often re-enacted, as in the Cattelan sculpture currently located there. It depicts a homeless man slumped on a bench, intent on pissing himself... and it's no coincidence that it was placed there... the Palazzo della Ragione was the place where justice was administered, so this statue is a clear social commentary that unfortunately remains relevant... (Translated by Google) This building was built in 1198 as a town hall, making it the second oldest town hall in Italy after the Roman one. Previously, the main façade faced the Piazza Duomo, where the entrance staircase also stood. After fires in the 13th-16th centuries, the building underwent significant reconstruction. The main façade was reoriented north, toward the Piazza Vecchia, a new staircase was added to the side, and the old one was dismantled. After annexation by the Venetian Republic, the building housed the Palace of Justice, a name it retains to this day. Since Napoleon's time, the building's civic significance has gradually faded; it has been used as a library, and for a time, it even stood empty. It is now used as an exhibition space. The frescoes, ceilings, windows, and the entire interior are 16th-century, but the exterior retains elements from the 12th. Palazzo e Giardini Moroni is an extravagant 17th-century palace located in Bergamo Alta. The interior boasts stunning Baroque architecture and a rich art collection, with opulent frescoes adorning the walls and ceilings. Visitors can take a self-guided tour through several rooms inside the palazzo and explore the beautifully landscaped gardens at the back. The rose-filled gardens feature neatly clipped topiary and offer picturesque views of the surrounding mountains, providing a serene setting for relaxation.
When visiting Citta Alta, and if you interested in seeing a beautiful building with fantastic interior, you should visit Palazzo e Giardini Moroni. We spent one hour visiting the place. After climbing the first stairs go to your right and watch the film (in the old kitchen), which will give you a very good introduction of the place and its history. There are English subtitles. Then go round in the rooms and enjoy. Also worth seeing the large garden. We were here in December, so the garden is looking much nicer in the warm season.

Definitely a place to visit if you’re interested in the baroque period, I thought the €10 euro entry fee was very reasonable too. I chose to visit around 11am on a weekday and it was incredibly quiet, the staff were very helpful. If you’re staying or visiting Cita Alta, it’s a must see, I hope to visit again in the future.

Standing at over 52 meters high, it was built in the 12th century and offers panoramic views of the old town and its mountainous surroundings. Visitors can access the observation deck via a staircase with around 230 steps or take an elevator for convenience.
The best vantage point in Bergamo! Highly recommended if you would like to get a really nice panoramatic view of Bergamo and it's surroundings. The tower itself has a lift built-in nowadays which takes almost to the very top. You then just need to climb a few steps to get to the bell floor for best possible sightseeing experience.

Such towers were very popular all over northern Italy during the medieval ages. They expressed the wealth of families who built it, but very few remained today. This tower is in the very center of Bergamo upper town, on the main Piazza Vecchia square. Entry ticket of 7 Euros includes climbing the top with an elevator, as well a small archaeological museum down. Views from up (there're two platforms) are stunning, with both upper and lower Bergamo, as well half Lombardy on a clear day

Probably the highlight of my day in Bergamo! I arrived 5 minutes before they opened the doors and I had the tower for myself for about 10 minutes. The view is truly spectacular! Tickets are only a couple of euros and you can also combine the campanone and the museum inside which was interesting but the view is what makes it so worth visiting!

Hearing the bell ring while soaking in those amazing views of Bergamo—that’s a cool moment!

Amazing view from the top of the tower and a very good interactive museum.

🎫 Currently 7 euros but includes 3 parts to the visit. Stunning tower right in the main square, 52.76m high. You can walk up or take the elevator, handy! The views are wow 🔔 Then you can visit the remains of the Podesta Palace of the family, some ruins and then a lovely little museum on the history of Bergamo 'Museo Delle Stories di Bergamo". Lots of activities going on this year in general. Definitely worth it!

Stopped by the is town on the way from Milan to Garda. It were many things to do, to shop and good food around. Bought 12 Euro ticket/person to go in Campanone which this same ticket can be used to access another 4 museums nearby as well. The exhibition has been presented brilliantly, so we enjoyed everything here a lot. The only down side is that it all in Italian so we had to use translation application most of the time.

Buy a combined ticket online for the historical museum which includes this Bell's tower. Incredible view from the top with elevator access if needed. A must to discover the beauty of the old city and the nearby hills.

(Translated by Google) A casual restaurant, excellent for business lunches. I can't comment on the evening fare since I've never been there. The staff is welcoming and polite. The service is average for the wait times required for business lunches. (Original) Locale informale, ottimo per pranzi di lavoro, non posso esprimermi per la sera dato che non ci son mai stato. Personale ospitale ed educato. Servizio per i tempi di attesa richiesti per i pranzi di lavoro nella media.

(Translated by Google) I have dined at this place a few times. The quality of the food is good and the courtesy of the staff as well. But the wait is often too long. It is not acceptable to wait an hour for a pizza when the place is half empty. Or a wrong pizza, a random dessert and an invented coffee arrived at the table. The problem is that since they are slow you still have to wait a long time for them to bring you the correct order. Sorry but this leads to a negative experience (Original) Ho cenato alcune volte in questo locale.
