Lake Iseo, nestled between Como and Garda, is a picturesque S-shaped lake in the Lombardy region. It is renowned for its tranquility and low tourist density. The highlight of the lake is Monte Isola, Europe's largest lake island, offering a car-free environment and a serene natural setting. Surrounding the lake are charming villages, vineyards, and historic landmarks like castles and monasteries.
Nice place, rent a bike and go around the island. Most of caffes and restaurants opens at 12:00.

Our recent visit to Lago d’Iseo was nothing short of enchanting. Nestled amidst breathtakingly picturesque surroundings, this hidden gem offers a perfect blend of serene lakeside beauty and majestic mountain landscapes. The local restaurants were exceptional, serving delicious regional cuisine with charm and authenticity, truly a culinary delight at every turn. Yet, perhaps the most memorable aspect was the warmth and genuine friendliness of the local people, whose hospitality made our experience utterly delightful. Lago d’Iseo is undoubtedly a treasure; we look forward eagerly to our next visit!

Beautiful lago, one of the smaller but still as beautiful lakes. You can get a ferry across to mountisola where you can walk up the top, swim in the lago grab a lunch or just stroll around the island. It is beautiful a little busy at times but does bot distract from its stunning scenery. Parking was hard in a few places on the mainland as was quite busy when we went. Have to wear a ffp2 mask on the ferry which they sell with tickets.

Rocca Martinengo is a majestic fortress located in the town of Menzino, which can be reached by walking through olive groves along the coastal road. The fortress stands as a historic landmark and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. First a purely military border and customs outpost, over time its strategic importance ceased and it was donated to the Martinengo family who stabilized it externally and made it more civilized. The entrance on the raised bridge remains very scenic, the exceptional terrace with a priceless view of the lake and the Beretta island. I repeat, it is private and not open to visitors but it is still worth it if you happen to stop by. However, around the low walls there is a well-kept park and a picnic area. Restaurant
Nestled on the picturesque Monte Isola, Ristorante Pizzeria La Torre offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views from its terrace. While we encountered a hiccup when they ran out of pizza during our visit, the menu still dazzled us with delicious pasta and generous portions of homemade fries. The antipasti were also quite enjoyable!
During our hike on the Monte Isola we stopped here for lunch. A beautiful place with a nice view from the terrace! The place is closed between 2 and 4 PM and we arrived just before 2, therefore we could not order pizza but we had delicious pasta and potatoes!
Lisa K — Google review
Nice lunch with a view. The antipasti was nice, pasta good but the pork chop was mistranslated on the menu as ribs (little disappointed). Service was a little bit rushed and short with us. Drinks was good (and cheap). 2 person 57 euro.

There is not a lot to eat on the island... But this place is not the answer! Food was bad. I had grilled fish and grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables we cold in spots...hot in others...some were raw...they all tasted old...so it feels like microwaved leftovers. The grilled fish was nothing special. No pizza at lunch. Waitress could not have cared less. Ohh ..the bread was stale... So all in all not a great experience....

pasta was good, hovewer the pizza was the worst i've had in my life. dough was flavorless, too thin and tortilla-like, similar to store bought pizza. tomato sause was also flavorless. pls save yourself some money and get a pasta instead

Beautiful location and that's it. A pizzeria that doesnt offer pizza at lunch. I ordered an Insalatona with tuna and mozzarella and to my astonishment, the mozzarella was the dried, shredded kind. Disgusting! My husbands grilled vegetables were raw and tasteless. Service impersonal, they couldnt care less. If you're on the island for the day, plan to eat somewhere else

Last year in August, I had an amazing time at Sensole Locanda Contemporanea. Giovanni and his team were exceptional! The hotel, while small, exuded a warm and cozy ambiance. The meals, particularly the breakfast, were fantastic, and the prices for dinner and snacks were reasonable. It felt privileged to witness guests in speedos heading towards the hotel's private beach just a few meters away.
Lovely atmosphere, with great staff. Tasty breakfast with delicious coffee. Rooms had everything we needed. We’ve arrived late and had no problem to access the room. Calm atmosphere around the hotel with a beautiful lake view and close to the main attractions on the island. Definitely recommend the place, I hope to return here next time.

We stayed two nights at Sensole Locanda Contemporanea and honestly, everything was perfect from the location, the food, and the team. If you go, definitely try the breakfast! They put so much care into it, and you can enjoy it anywhere (even on the private beach). We also tried the tapas and had dinner at the restaurant ! Everything was super tasty and really well cook. They also have a rooftop with an incredible view. We loved our stay and would totally go back !

We celebrated our wedding at the end of August in the lakeside garden of Locanda Sensole and had the pleasure of staying at the hotel with our families for the entire weekend. We were very happy with the whole experience: the staff was incredibly attentive and fully available, making sure every detail was taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious, the wedding decorations were stunning, and the lakeside setting for the reception corresponded perfectly to our wishes. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or team!

Perfetto Could not have been better. The team are so lovely, the location is magical and the bed was dreamy. We rented bikes and cycled round the island, & the spiaggia is now one of my happy places, the perfect place to soak in the beauty of your surroundings. If you have the chance just go - I would go back in a heartbeat.

Incredible location and impeccable service. The owner was very helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend this hotel as well as staying on Monte Isola. Dinner here was fantastic as well. I’m not sure what this dish is called but it was incredible. the rooftop terrace was very nice as well. I recommend getting bikes from the hotel and biking around the island. Get a room with a lake view! The view is gorgeous.

If your fit enough do the number one route. It's not a killer but with the heat it will put your body under pressure. Ok it's a church. Nice view from the top and its nice to do. You cab also get the bus most of the way up leaving you a 15 min walk at the end.

Super beautiful church with amazing views all around the Iseo lake and especially at Sulzano. The atmosphere during sundowners is beautiful, however the church guard will ask you to leave at around 6PM. Perfect spot for marriage proposals. The walk up here is quite steep but nice as well, you get to see some very nice local architecture and farm land.

I started my hiking from Siviano so it took me awhile to reach the Santuario. The trail isn’t hard, you can do it in 1 hour. It took me more than just because it was impossible to not stop and admire the views. If you’re going to Iseo is a must do for sure.

Beautiful place. You can go up the mountain by bus and then go about 25 minutes to get to the church. A ticket to the bus costs 1,50 euro. Next to the church there is a free toiltet. During the walk there are seats and tables if you want to take a rest. The views are amazing.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately it is the private property of an important Brescian family. Blessed are they. For this reason it is not accessible for a visit. It was the property of the heirs of Count Alessandro Martinengo, descendant of Bartolomeo Colleoni. After convents and hermitages, between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries the new owner, knight. Vincenzo Richieri built a neo-Gothic style castle on the island around which he created a garden full of conifers, a small port and two lighthouse turrets; practically giving it its current appearance. How wonderful it would be if the property were convinced by the Lombardy Region and Navigazione del Lago d'Iseo to open the island to visits at least fortnightly or monthly. The royals of England do it for their castles, so it's not fantasy. Even just a stroll in the park would justify the initiative. The boat that circumnavigates the lake could, on those occasions, introduce a mooring and allow passengers to take advantage of the next passage. Lake tourism would certainly benefit from it and God knows how much it is needed.

The façade has two orders and a smooth triangular gable, with a metal cross at the end of a Sarnico marble staircase with seven steps with a pyramidal section. The 17th century portal, in linear Sarnico marble, is decorated with Tuscan pilasters. The door is made of ebony and bears two elegant cornucopias in high relief. Bar Caffè Dei Porti is a charming café located near the 4-star Castello Oldofredi Aparthotel, just a short walk away. The café offers a lovely spot with good vibes and a spectacular view of the lake. Five stars for the atmosphere and view. As for dishes the grilled fish superior, ravioli bit worse with no sauce(love the Italian sauces) and very little grana padano. Tasty home wine. Overall you pay mainly for the climate (and that is worth it).

(Translated by Google) I had the pleasure of visiting the Paolo and Carolina Zani Foundation during this last weekend. A wonderful house museum containing works of the best workmanship and species: artists such as Tiepolo, Guardi, Longhi, Canaletto and Belletto follow one another among the rooms inhabited by the owners who, even after a few years, maintain traces of the past and of their daily life. The furnishings carefully chosen through timely and significant research in the most important world auction houses make the place enchanting and fascinating without falling into the kitsch to which we are sadly accustomed. The place lends itself to exhibitions, conventions and other cultural events which make this museum a jewel of Franciacorta. The staff, especially Laura, the Head of Educational Services, carries out guided tours that capture your attention, giving you a one-of-a-kind experience. Typically house museums can be a collection of objects without a logic, but this is absolutely not the case with the Paolo and Carolina Zani Foundation. I highly recommend! Consiglio vivamente!
