Grove City in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Grove City, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Grove City is best known for its large outlet mall, Grove City Premium Outlets, which draws shoppers with many brand-name stores and Pennsylvania’s lack of sales tax on clothing. The town’s walkable downtown and the picturesque campus of Grove City College give it a classic small-college-town feel. Nearby parks and natural areas in Butler and Mercer Counties offer options for hiking, fishing, and outdoor recreation within a short drive.
With favorites like Grove City Country Club, Keystone Safari, and Compadres Mexican Restaurant, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Jean's Super Subs and Compadres Mexican Restaurant so you can get the best taste of Grove City while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

It's a lot bigger than we thought. Great price! You can drive yourself or there is a truck they drive certain times. We did the walk and drive. It was definitely awesome. It was clean. The employees were constantly doing stuff to make things better for the animals. The picture of the animals list is all the animals on the drive through. Beware of the donkeys. If you don't have food, it will bite your car. There is a little gift shop too. Bathrooms EVERYWHERE. Big picnic area. Some food trucks The workers are helpful too. Just ask!

What a great experience! We did the walk through adventure. 2 kids, 2 adults. We took our time, took about 2 hours to walk and feed a bunch of animals. Prices were pretty good, including the gift shop. Will definitely be back! Will pick a cooler day so I can feed the bears!
Abbey S — Google review
Walk thru review - Almost perfect for small kids. The toddler and baby enjoyed being close to the animals. We went in the afternoon and most of the animals were active throughout our visit. The grounds are well-kept. 3 stars because amenities are lacking. Most restrooms are portable and not family-friendly. The only family bathroom, located in the gift shop, had a small changing table that barely fit an average-sized 1-year-old. Also, there are little shaded areas. Very limited places to feed a baby, especially on a hot day. It was difficult to comfortably care for small children.
Jen — Google review
It's so amazing. The staff is very nice but just be careful because they'll charge you for things they aren't supposed to (not maliciously) when you have a season pass. Also, the one food stand, with a season pass, is supposed to honor the 10% off and they didn't. The animals are amazing and the staff is very nice.
Talia O — Google review
We absolutely love Keystone Safari. We have had annual memberships since its inception! We love to see how it's growing and constantly adding new animals. The park is always clean. The animals are always clean and happy and well taken care of. We love seeing that they have been so successful in their breeding programs. There always seems to be a new baby or one on the way! We love that we can interact with almost every animal there. The only improvement would be that some of the employees seem very irritated to be there and are almost angry when you ask for your next feed or ask a question. Others are very enjoyable and informative.
Lacy G — Google review
The Keystone Safari is a great place to visit. There is a walking part with a lot of animals like lions, tigers, giraffes, anteater, and so many others. We also took the ride through the park. We were on an old military truck. We got to feed the animals. You can let them eat out of your hand , out of the bucket, or toss some on the ground when they come up to the truck. It's a fantastic place to take children. It is a good time for sure. The store is nice as well. Friendly staff.
Steve ( — Google review
This was an amazing safari with people who care about the animals. We had a great time looking at the animals and interacting with the butterflies. The giraffe was adorable with how it was so gentle with us, and I hope the tiger has gotten used to its habitat. This is an awesome place
M-L O — Google review
We’ve been members at Keystone Safari for the past three years, and it continues to be one of our favorite places to visit with our three kids. Between Keystone Safari and Living Treasures, there’s always something fun and memorable to do. The parks are clean, well-maintained, and never feel overcrowded. There’s a great variety of engaging activities for the kids—from feeding the giraffes (always a highlight!) to bouncing in the inflatable play area. Our oldest absolutely loves the butterfly exhibit that opens after Memorial Day, and the newest kids obstacle course has been a fantastic addition. It gives the kids a chance to burn off energy and adds variety to the experience. One minor downside: the regular food truck with lemonade and basic snacks hasn’t been our favorite. The lemonade was watery and underwhelming, and the corn dog was dry and bland—not quite worth the price. That said, it’s still a decent quick option if you’re in a pinch.

Visitors praise the helpful staff and smooth event planning process for weddings and outings. The venue is complimented for its outdoor space and picturesque lake views.
Wonderful place with a lot of beautiful landscaping. Friendly staff and great customer service.

I recently help with/attended a wedding at Grove City CC, and it was a wonderful experience! Mel was so on top of her game, navigating planning and changes with grace. The reception space looked beautiful, the food was good, and the amenities were perfect for the couple’s needs. I would highly recommend the CC for a wedding/event space!

Definitely not the best food. They need to up their game. Couldn't really enjoy as the band was so loud.

Very nice location! Food, beverage and staff were excellent. Easily held a chamber event of approximately 200 members. Very nicely done!

Everyone was very helpful and nice during all parts of the planning process. The reception went very smooth. Mel and Ann are experienced and know how to make sure you have an excellent day! Plus it was a beautiful venue! All our guests kept complimenting the outdoor space. We were very pleased!!

We attended a wedding here, and to all indications it was catered by the club kitchen. Very tasty meal, generous offerings, I would have had more but it was very satisfying on its own. Comfortable seats, lots of room, looking out on the course and very good picturesque lake.

I had the opportunity play in an outing at GCCC for the second consecutive year and have nothing but good things to say. The outing was well organized and a good time. The course was in great shape and is challenging yet fair. I look forward to the next time.

This place is an absolute hidden gem.  Now under the management of a new GM, this club has been making some great progress for the 2018 season! Fantastic food and very reasonable membership fees. My wedding reception will be beautiful here this summer!

Park
Grove City Memorial Park in Pennsylvania offers a variety of activities for visitors. The park features a disc golf course, playground, basketball courts, and swimming pools. It's a great spot for family gatherings and community events with its friendly atmosphere. The park is well-maintained with clean restrooms and pavilions. Visitors can enjoy picnics or easily access nearby food options while spending the day at this spacious and beautiful park.
This was a huge surprise when we visited. Had no idea what to expect and were. Completely blown away with all there was to do how huge it is and absolutely clean and beautiful. You can pack food and spend the entire day there doing a million things, or run out and get food easily nearby and pop back. Great playground for kids. 2 full size basketball courts. Full sized pool and kiddie pool with multiple lifeguards. That did cost $4 a person but small kids are free. You can bike, hike, run, play 18 holes of real frisbee golf. There’s a botanical and butterfly garden too. Restrooms are clean, no diaper changing however. This was a wonderful way to spend a summer day. Couldn’t recommend more.
A.G. P — Google review
Really nice park. Lots of room to spread out and a wide variety of trails and other things to see here!
Staticbird11 — Google review
Stopped here to walk my dogs at dawn on a road trip. It’s a very nice park. There were two swings that are by themselves and they are quite interesting looking. I’ve never seen anything like them and thought they add a lot to the uniqueness and artistic vibe of this park. We stop at a lot of parks for walks and this is the prettiest one for a town this size. The memorial garden is lovely with the specimen tree, winding paths, gazebo, and the little water feature. The old war memorial had a dear little cat hiding there. Too bad about that water feature being out of commission though. It must have been grand in its prime, being a waterfall. I wonder if it had a fountain at the top. Too bad it’s now full of stagnant water that probably breeds mosquitoes. The big fountain and the children’s fishing pond is very pretty at dawn. The bathrooms were actually unlocked and were clean. This is uncommon in my experience. I especially loved the mosaic bench tucked away behind the gazebo. Thank you to all involved for keeping a lovely park for everyone to enjoy.

Very nice park. Very large park. Very clean. Lots to do has a pool in it. Gazebos and picnic areas. A disc golf course. Lots of geocaches which I was going after. Places for the kids to play.
Rick P — Google review
just trying to pass time. this park is definitely one to go to for picnics and social gatherings but call to see if you need to reserve certain tables. i did a short walk but no extensive trail system. has some interesting militaryish displays which is cool
Greg K — Google review
Great park with plenty of space. The playground is adequate for kids and the swimming pool is a great addition during the summer heat. The 18 hole disc golf course is my favorite part of this park. The front 9 is a lot easier than the back 9. Prepare to lose your disc a few times and look for ticks after you are done playing.

Went here for a Cross Country meet. The facilities are well kept, and the whole place is just a great place to be outside!

If you're cruising down the open road and find yourself near Jean's Super Subs, make sure to stop by this delightful sub shop. Known for its incredible food and friendly atmosphere, it’s a local gem that stands out with its fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. The staff here are not only efficient but also add a warm touch to your dining experience, making you feel right at home.
This is an excellent sub shop. Much more authentic than JJs or Subway with more fresh ingredients. They were VERY fast with our group of 5 and less expensive as well. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a quick bite to eat.

I went here for the first time and can truly saw what an amazing place! The family that owns the place are extremely nice and the hoagie was delicious!! I got the eagle, recommended by them, and I honestly cant wait to try more subs from them! Looks like im going to be there often!
Veronica N — Google review
Sometimes i think about this place while put on the open road. A++++ the food is amazing but theres more, the staff are absolutely the cutest and set a tone for the whole place. Its always nice to be and plenty of subs to eat. 10/10 highly recommend.

Great price. Fast. Friendly staff. Busy during lunch but they are fast. I had the eagle sub it was very good if you like large Italian hoagies. The whole sub was enough for lunch and dinner. Very good.

Fresh local bread is the keystone to these amazing subs. Very fair prices and delicious subs from a local mom n pop is hard to beat!
Logan W — Google review
Value wise, this is a 10 star restaurant. Taste wise, still 5/5 stars. If I lived up here, I’d be by weekly. Definitely worth the stop and it feels like a neighborhood restaurant. You won’t regret it.
Tyler J — Google review
Super friendly staff and they make a great handmade sandwich. Any kind of sub, sausage or hot dog you want they have. Bacon cooking fresh and they don’t skimp on the Mayo! Huge portions. The half size was bigger than and commercial joints footlong. The only negative was the fountain soda was flat that day, but that was probably just the co2 running low. Worth the trip of you’re in the areas and want a good sub or dog
A.G. P — Google review
Jean's Super Subs is Grove City's premier sub shop. They have been in business for over 50 years... and for good reason. The food is good, fresh, and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly but fast. They hand slice each meat per order, add fresh baked bread, veggies and sauces. They also offer meatballs and hot dogs, and cold salads like macaroni salad. The inside has not changed over the years so be prepared to step back in time a bit. There are several stand alone tables and chairs inside. This consistency in both food, staff and decor brings back cherished memories of their long standing customers. There's a reason we all keep coming back.

Mexican restaurant
Compadres Mexican Restaurant offers a delightful array of traditional Mexican dishes, including mouthwatering quesadillas and enchiladas, all served in an inviting atmosphere. After a long day of shopping at the Outlets, my family and I were eager to indulge in some delicious food. We were promptly seated upon arrival, and our meals arrived quickly—perfect for our hungry bellies! The flavors were incredible; some dishes practically melted in our mouths.
Compadres Mexican Restaurant offers a truly authentic Mexican dining experience! The food is rich in flavor, well-prepared, and gives a comforting, feel-good vibe. From the fresh ingredients to the traditional flavors, every bite is enjoyable. A great spot for anyone craving real Mexican cuisine. Highly recommend!
Ram — Google review
Decided to try a new Mexican restaurant, and we were so glad it was this one. I had made Birria tacos at home, and we really enjoyed them. This was the first time we actually saw them on the menu, so my boyfriend chose them. They were so delicious, the meat melted in your mouth. Needless to say he said theirs was better than mine. I had the Chori Pollo which was also very good. Good service also.
Diane C — Google review
Food was a bit overpriced. Most was on the dry side, including relleno, burrito, and enchiladas. House hot sauce tasted more of smoky mole, not really hot or flavorful. We sat in the bar section and the noise from other sections was unbelievably loud. The complementary chips and salsa were ok, the guacamole was pretty good, and the flan was tasty. Staff were very nice and attentive.
Philip L — Google review
I started off with the Strawberry Peach Margherita and some Queso for my chips and salsa. The question was really good and I personally liked the salsa. It's a more chunky Tomato Salsa and it's delicious it also has a little bit of a kick to it so the queso balanced it out nicely. I then got the Molcajete for my main course. This thing was huge! I dont eat pork so I asked if the chorizo could be on the side and they were kind enough to bring it out separate. The dish wasn't only big but the flavor was sooooo good. All the meats were cooked with the perfect amount of spices and cooked at the right temperature. The server was super friendly and very fast and efficient. He also sat us. The place is right off a main road so it is easily accessible and there is plenty of parking. Inside the restaurant there is also plenty of seating even if it's busy there are so many tables. I really enjoyed this place.
Paige B — Google review
We went here for a late lunch and the food was really tasty. Large portions meant leftovers which is always good! The ambiance was a little loud in our section but other than that decent space. The bar area was in a different area and would probably appeal to people not wanting to ship the outlets with their other half’s lol! Would definitely eat here again.
Marty W — Google review
Have been coming here for the past 7 years and it's our fave restuarant to go to when shopping at the outlet stores close by, food was good, portions are big, complimentary chips and salsa is great! After the order was taken the food came out quick! Just one thing, our waitress seemed a bit aggressive and not friendly, overall we enjoyed our meal
S N — Google review
Eating here was such a nice experience. Me and my family had sat down after a long day of shopping at the Outlets, so we were very hungry. We were given a table immediately upon entry, and there was barely a wait for our food to come out. The food was delicious, and some of it sort of melted in your mouth. The staff was very pleasant and respectful. The food is medium on the price scale. There were 3 of us, and it was around $20 a person. I'd say the food is absolutely worth the price.
Brynna — Google review
I have been to this restaurant at least five times and it is consistently good! Hubby ordered a non-alcoholic slushy drink which was quite delicious. The guacamole was amazing and our dessert was fantastic as well! I ordered grilled vegetables and was pleased with them. The rest of our party ordered tacos and said how delicious they were. Service was fantastic!
