Sodnac Wellness Park

Park
Sodnac Wellness Park, located in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius, is a popular green space for health-conscious individuals and nature enthusiasts. The park offers beautiful scenery and is ideal for activities like jogging, walking, and stretching. It features a well-maintained 2.5km track, an outdoor gym, and even a small hill that's easily accessible to the public. While parking may be limited, the park is free to enter and open during working hours.
After lunch at Phoenix mall, I would always consider a little visit at sodnac wellness park. Very close. Approx 10 min walks. Very cozy and big park for a jogging, walk and stretching. I would brind my lunch some time. Beautiful scenery. Grasp of fresh air. There is so a small hills which is very easy and accessible to public. Highly recommended to go in group and clicks some beautiful pictures. However there is a very small parking lots. The entry is free. And open during working hours only.

Nice place to chill or do trainings. You have several large football grounds, a place to run, mini traning and yoga areas. You can even run or walk up the Candos Hill on a trail.
Antoinette A — Google review
Very nice place for walking with fresh air and greenfield around. outdoor gym is also there. You can play football on Sundays. Kids will definitely enjoy being there. Walking track is simply superb 👌. What can we expect from a government maintained part. Its definitely best i have seen ever with free of cost and access to public from 5am to 6Pm.
Sreenivasa D — Google review
Good place for kids... Large area and very green. Surrounded by mountains. Jogging track on the perimeter and exercise machines are also there. Recommended
Ankit V — Google review
A nice place to jog. Track is about 2.5kms. Importantly, it’s well maintained and well structured.. Evenings are pleasant. There is an outdoor gym. I would say, it’s the best park in Mauritius..
Sachin K — Google review
Good track of 2km for running/walking, with outdoor gym and a small hill to climb with some decent views. My daily playground to recharge and move
Rajiv L — Google review
Great place to go for a walk/jog/run... Track is large and long enough. What other best plans are there apart from going there to relax with friends and family after a tedious day at work. Plants everywhere, fresh air, security guards all the time, parking facilities plus toilets... It's even better in the morning. Another plus point is the open air gym with more than 10 machines...
Khevina W — Google review
Good place if you are beginner in trekking.

Laser tag center
FunZone is an entertainment center that offers state-of-the-art attractions, including the only VR gaming experience in Mauritius. It's a great place to have intense fun with family and friends, offering a unique concept of gaming that creates lasting memories. The main attraction is the exhilarating laser tag, which provides a good workout while being incredibly enjoyable. Additionally, there are other distractions and games available to keep visitors entertained for hours.
The games are simply great. Did the laser game for 20 mins and it was like going on a super fun workout.
Michael K — Google review
Its a must to check out this new Gaming place... nice service, affordable prices👍
James L — Google review
Great! Fun! Took a session of laser game. Had some real fun and was tired after the 20 minutes. Price is not high either. Was in a hurry else would have tried the flight simulator and car racing. Nice and friendly staff. Has quite some space for parking underground. Definitely recommend to go in large groups (16-20).
Azhar — Google review
Thus is "the" gamers location... Though it's pricey (quite very expensive) you have enough distraction and games to keep you occupied for a while. The main attraction, laser tag is simply awesome, though expensive, it's a good replacement for the gym😉 It's simply fun and you'll have to run a lot... I do recommend funzone for family time it's a good place to have fun and spend some 💵
Naadir A — Google review
Funzon.. It's fun! Seriously, I love the place, for me the best is the laser tag, you can play up to 30 persons, either team or solo... Its challenging, fun and at the same time you're doing your cardio, it's a win win! 😜 So, if you want some fun or maybe just to spend some times with your friends, IT'S THE PLACE TO BE!
Roussety A — Google review
Laser game is really fun to play with some friends but better with more than 10 people. Vr is really great for people who don't get motion sick but worth it tbh. Racing sim is awesome for people who only got the wheel set up at home and wish to go further, this is for you.
Ananden. R — Google review
Amazing experience. It was so much fun even for the grown up. I suggest for those playing the laser tag to bring s change of clothe. Will visit again
Niurka D — Google review

Mauritius Glass Gallery Ltd.

Art gallery
Mauritius Glass Gallery Ltd. is situated in Phoenix, just a short distance from Quatre Bornes, where skilled artisans craft one-of-a-kind glass art pieces. Visitors can observe the traditional glass-blowing process and even have a personalized glass model created from an imprint of their hand or foot in sand. The gallery offers a variety of unique glass products for purchase, including souvenirs made from recycled glass.
Great place to buy souvenirs made of recycled bottles.

Tour was not open but we could see the workshop and gift shop, no indication of when the tours are open on the website
Jacques N — Google review
My recent visit there was disappointing. It has been a very long time since the last time i went there and I was expecting a greater selection of items. But there was not much to see and buy.
Marc M — Google review
For seeing men making glass in real life and some shopping! The glass gallery is a nice place to see men actually making glass in front of you. This is certainly an experience. I was warmly welcomed by the woman in the reception and guided to go in. There is a gallery of glass hand impressions of famous personalities. There are fancy mirrors which makes you look crazy - dwarf, fragmented, elongated and funny! There is also a display of glass work, history about glass and glass making to read about. The gallery ends with a store for buying glass products. I would have really liked someone to explain the process of glass making or show a video of glass making. This would have helped me appreciate what the men at work where doing with glass in the factory.
Dilip K — Google review
Very nice place to know the history of glass and buy some gifts.
Hatem A — Google review
We spent 2 hours traveling to get to the glass factory only to be let down. It’s a tiny shop with glass ornaments. There was no way for us to view the glass making process or see the famous mirrors. The staff were friendly enough to try and help is get back to the nearest mall.

Calm and relaxing place. Superb products. I understand Covid has changed all plans but would love to see more artistic works.

MCB St-Jean

Corporate office
MCB St-Jean, also known as the MCB Building, is a remarkable modern architectural creation located in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius. This eye-like structure stands out along the M1 motorway and is often referred to as the "EYE of Mauritius." The building's unique oval form and ever-changing colors make it a must-see attraction in Mauritius. It is not only visually stunning but also environmentally friendly, being entirely solar-powered and energy-efficient.
Most amazing modern landmark in Mauritius. Worth the visit.
Olivier V — Google review
Worst banking experience in Mauritius. MCB is by revenue and profit the number one enterprise in Mauritius. Yet, they offer one of the worst customer services on the whole island. They are in a quasi-monopolistic situation and the close relationship they have with the local private sector groups which owns the Mauritian Economy, there is no doubt this situation will continue to prevail. However, if a rate of 2,6 on google review is not a wake up call, for them to get down from their ivory tower and set foot in their customers shoes, they are bound to be snubbed by clients who will find better options elsewhere. A simple international transfer, where I tried to obtain an agreed FX rate upfront, was handled in a mess and I ended up receiving a rate which was below the current fx rate for that day. I don't know on what basis recruitments are done there, but certainly it is not on competence. If you take garbage in, you are bound to get garbage as service... Get a hold of yourself as a professional financial institution of repute. Do a thorough and independent audit (i.e. not your internal complacent one but with an outsourced consultant) of your processes, first your customer service, then your human resources... then you'll stand the test of time... cause the way it is going, you will soon start your decline...

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Quatre Bornes, Flame N Grill is a culinary gem that beckons food enthusiasts with its tantalizing offerings. This restaurant specializes in grilled delights, making it a must-visit for those craving smoky flavors and hearty meals. The inviting atmosphere complements the diverse menu, which features an array of kebabs and curries perfect for lunch or dinner.
This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants! Authentic food, cooked to perfection. Every visit feels like a treat~ staff is always warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this gem for anyone craving real Indian cuisine!

I've found the best Indian food on the island, nestled away from the busy streets of Quatre Bornes. The food came out hot and tasty! We also ordered mango lassi and vanilla lassi which were not sweet and to our liking. The service was great as well despite the restaurant being busy. One thing to keep in mind is that it can get quite noisy inside when it’s full. It might be a bit challenging to have a conversation. But there are tables outside too, if a more quiet atmosphere is preferred.

Visited Flame and Grill last Wednesday for lunch with my girlfriends. We enjoyed momos, paneer 65, paneer briyani, dhall makhni and thali. Loved the plain naans - yummy 😋 the raasmalai was delicious unfortunately didn't like the kulfi that much. As we pre-ordered, service was done quickly. Location is good.

Jain's Little India Sweets & Snacks in Quatre Bornes is a top spot for delicious Indian cuisine. The restaurant is known for its authentic flavors and offers a variety of tasty snacks and sweets. Visitors can enjoy the unique experience of watching the chefs at work through a glass panel that separates the kitchen from the dining area. While it may be small, this gem is worth visiting for an authentic taste of India in Mauritius.
The food was really really good just as expected. And definitely fill the stomach. 5 stars are not enough to describe the service and the atmosphere. I mean it’s a pleasure to have food in here, twice this week

Incredible service by the staff. They were very polite, explained the menu well and helped us with our requests. The food was definitely pricey yet tasty. Got a 4 star review because there's a gap between my expectations and the food taste. However, if you want a cozy Indian food experience with your family, it is a go-to place.

Tried the dal makhani with missi roti and naan — a must-try! Tasted just like authentic Indian flavors. Also had the onion masala dosa — smaller in size but full of taste. Ordered the veg noodles too; they weren’t as spicy as I expected, but still good. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth trying!

Sushi Park is a stylish and budget-friendly restaurant known for its unique sushi creations that promise an explosion of flavors. The menu offers a wide variety of affordable options, with most sushi servings containing 8 pieces. In addition to sushi, the restaurant also serves ramen, rice dishes, and grilled seafood. The ambiance is described as cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. Customers appreciate the quick and easy ordering process using tablets at each table.
We ended up in the restaurant for lunch and didn't regret it. Enough seating available. Ordering was quick and easy with a tablet at the table. The food we ordered came super fast and was delicious. The ambiance was relaxing, it's clean and minimalist nicely decorated. Thanks very much! We'll see you again!
Stefan H — Google review
My husband and I were at the Sushi Park outlet at the Phoenix Mall on the 19th of December 2024 and were greatly let down by the degraded quality of food being served over there. To give an overview, we have been going to this outlet for maybe more than two years and have noted a gradual decline in the quality of the food. In the beginning, the inconsistency was subtle and tolerable but on the above-mentioned date, the majorly bad quality of the food left us appalled. We noticed the ginger had changed to a near-red colour with a bitter taste that burnt the mouth and throat as compared to the previous pink one with a slight sweetness which truly cleansed the palate and enhanced the whole experience. The soy sauce had changed from sweet and less salty to bitter and too salty for the sushi. It did not taste like sushi soy sauce but rather like regular soy sauce. The octopus balls drastically dropped in quality too by the nearly inexistent piece of octopus inside, with so little drizzle of the sauce/mayo on top and a dough that lacked salt, making it tasteless. The sushi rice tasted a bit sweet and vinegary before, but it has changed to become tasteless. Furthermore, we got so many uncooked rice grains. Added to this, the rice was not airy enough, it was rather packed and cut like a dry pudding block, making it hard to mash and difficult to swallow. The rice tasted spoilt in some of the sushi that we had. The garlic mussels were good but smaller in size and one of them was spoilt. The eel on the nigiri was smaller in size as compared to what was being served before. The black sesame tonkotsu ramen tasted good, even better than before, but the downside was the pork got even smaller. To note that it already became thinner by 50% as compared to initial size. I took the picture with the egg for you to have an idea of the actual size. I would have expected maybe six pieces for the meat to match what was being served previously. I am taking my time to write to you because, not only have we had an unpleasant experience, but I got food poisoning from your food that night that required medical attention. We are aware of what amazing food you can serve and kindly request that you review your standards and maybe conduct surprise quality checks to bring your food to the excellence it once delivered.
Neha B — Google review
(Edited on second outing, good sashimi and spicy chicken ramen) 1st time Platter for 2 and chicken. Way off balance rice to elements (disappointed in it and with choices eggs and looks like can tuna). Chicken with batter and honey had tons of small bones. Really unpleasant for anyone trying to feed children with it. Please remove the bones from the chicken bites.
Ashley M — Google review
Upon entering the restaurant, I was met with an underwhelming first impression. The cashier, though occupied with work-related tasks, did not acknowledge or greet incoming guests. There was no clear signage indicating whether the restaurant was open, and only one door was open, which caused some confusion. I had to approach the staff myself to confirm if the restaurant was in operation. Once acknowledged, I was invited to take a seat. As I was the only customer at the time, I was able to choose my preferred table. On a positive note, the dining area—including the floor and surroundings—was clean and well-maintained. The restaurant offers a tablet-based ordering system, which is a commendable effort toward integrating technology into the dining experience. Unfortunately, the tablet at my table was not functioning. I had to inform the staff, after which the cashier handed me a working device. Ideally, the staff should regularly check and ensure that all ordering devices are in working condition prior to customer arrival. The wait time for food was approximately 20 minutes, which is acceptable for a dine-in experience. Regarding the food, the quality varied—some dishes were quite enjoyable, while others did not meet expectations. I have included photos for further reference and detail. A notable concern was the demeanor of the staff. They appeared fatigued and disengaged, performing their tasks with minimal interaction or enthusiasm. While they fulfilled their basic duties, the lack of warmth and attentiveness impacted the overall service experience.

One of the best sushi spot in Mauritius 💯 best in terms of value for money 😁 Tips: avoid peak hours, they are usually fully packed and you will have to queu up outside. They don't take reservations. Else.. #recommended 👌
Avisen C — Google review
Used to love this place but unfortunately the quality has really gone down since my last visit. From uncooked rice grains, the soy sauce, ginger and wasabi, everything has been lacking in quality. It is not pleasant to be eating sushi and getting bites of uncooked rice grains. The vinegary and light taste from the rice was missing. The soy sauce's taste was subpar at best. The wasabi and the ginger were so incredibly dry and had a crumbly texture. While it is nice to have thick pieces of Salmon sashimi, the fish tasted slightly off. The octopus balls were also lacking in flavour and octopus. Dishes which were supposed to contain mayo or cream cheese barely had any in them. Some rolls were also very chewy. I hope the management takes the reviews in consideration as this establishment used to offer really good food.
Laksh B — Google review
Very good! they have a nice menu that is totally worth it! There is no need to reserve. The food was excellent. We just order on the ipad, and they come serve you. Absolutely Amazing! I went to Sitar for the first time on my birthday, and it was such a wonderful experience! The food was A+ literally no words, everything was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Dinner last Friday 🥰 📍 The location is very nice and easy to reach using common transport. If you're planning to go on a Friday or weekend, better make a reservation! Seperate with mall food court which make it less crowed or noisy. 🤵 The staff were polite and helpful. A special thanks to them for handling the birthday cake and champagne so well. 🍽️ While the snacks were quite dry, a little sauce would’ve made a big difference. But the main dishes were delicious and definitely worth the price. 🍹 Great variety of drinks, most were tasty except the salty nimbu, which had too much salt compared to the sugar. 🎶 The décor is beautiful and the atmosphere was so nice with live music. If you sit upstairs, you get a nice view of the live band. The restroom is clean but is also located upstairs, which may not be easy for everyone to access. We wanted a 'curry like home: for an evening and found Sitar. The live music was a nice touch, the food was pretty good although the Jalfrezi was more sweet than spicy. The service was good, but we only got one menu for the three of us and they were probably running equally lean on staff to table ratio. Will consider going again, but not in a rush

Very good customer service, from taking reservation on the phone, welcoming us at entry, making sure to ask every time if we needed anything else than what we ordered until we finished. Very good food and drinks as well. Very clean and beautiful place to have dinner with friends, colleagues or family. Thank you, Kushal Awatarsing

⭐ If disappointment had a Michelin star, Sitar would win it. ⭐ Where do I even begin? Maybe with the dirty glasses they proudly handed us — because nothing says “bon appétit” like spotting smudges before your first sip. Then came the main act: I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, but apparently the chef heard “Surprise me with something that tastes like coriander and regret.” When I pointed it out, the staff decided the best way to handle it was to argue — because clearly, I don’t know what I ordered at my own table. The whole experience was like a masterclass in how to ruin dinner. Service: hostile. Food: wrong. Ambience: dirty glass chic. Honestly, if you’re ever wondering what the worst dinner of your life might feel like… book a table here.

I recently had dinner at sitar restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walk in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was flavorful but a little bit salty as per our taste and served in generous portions. Overall, Sitar provided a memorable evening with food food and excellent service and inviting highly recommend it for a date night or any special celebration.

Day 2

Southeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the southeast side side of town. Start the day off with Domaine des Aubineaux / Les Aubineaux Restaurant, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Floreal square. All together, your day would be filled with about 5 hours of non-stop fun.

Domaine des Aubineaux, a colonial mansion constructed in 1872, is now a museum dedicated to the history of Mauritian tea. The mansion, built entirely from teak wood sourced from demolished ships, offers guided tours through its Camphor tree garden and provides insight into the island's tea trade history.
I have had such an incredible and unexpected experience at this beautiful museum. I didn’t plan to stay long but somehow spent almost three hours or so, really enjoying just being there, photographing, trying to reimagine the tennis court where the tall trees grow now, chatting with the ladies at the front desk… The main house is a colonial time capsule with artifacts and photos; a couple of smaller buildings, a plant nursery and a little pond are set up nicely across the property. Wonderful landscaping. The food and drinks at the restaurant were absolutely amazing, make sure you get an after meal Cafe Martini. It was lovely to see how this hidden gem is coming alive with families and couples gathering there for lunch. Thanks Georgina and her team for making it a special experience on that cool rainy day! PS: a little advice to the management - the uniform the staff was wearing is totally out of sync with the atmosphere of the Domaine. The flower shirts are appropriate for a beach resort whereas a classy or elegant attire would definitely suit the place most. Think white shirt/polo and a nice pair of pants or a skirt.

We had an incredible time there ❤️ The front ladies were very very friendly and Welcoming. The lady gave us a guided tour in the colonial house with side stories of each room highlighting antique furniture ! The lady explained to us 3 types of visit plans! 1st plan was house visit and tasting tea/rum 2nd plan was lunch and visit 3rd plan was La route du the (visit to 3 domaine/lunch/ tasting) Domaine aubineux is quite nice for a morning walk and tea Domaine bois cheri that’s another must for lunch n visit Must try their pizza Domaine les st aubin its for afternoon walks with Rum tasting Each have an experience of it own💜

The resto is found in a Colonial House and your get to visit the house which is furnished as per the colonial period. The landscape is beautiful as there's a large garden which can be ideal for photo shooting. The menu at the restaurant is very wide as you get to eat pizza and pasta but I would recommend the local cuisines. The prices are very affordable and value for money.

Excellent menu, great walk around and inside the Domaine. Guided tour in English. So, what to add? 6 stars of course. Many thanks. And...a hidden gem is chicken in vanilla sauce...incredibly tasteful❤️
Jaromír M — Google review
The reception is not an obvious place to find, so that was annoying. The garden is not really well taken care of, it's a breeding ground for tiger mosquitos, which is extremely triggering and bad for the country and population. The food is amazingly scrumptious, and for a decent price. Recommended dishes are: Penne with prawn and vanilla sauce (Vanilla sauce is made with heavy cream), The Sailor mocktail and Creole venison. The essence house was very undercared so now it's being renovated.

A beautiful colonial estate in the heart of Curepipe! Domaine des Aubineaux offers a charming mix of history and nature. The well-preserved mansion and gardens are made for a peaceful and enriching experience. A must-visit for history lovers and those looking to unwind in a serene setting!

Nice historical villa, that is now a museum but also a restaurant, where you can taste rum and thee, besides ordering dishes.
David S — Google review
Stopped by yesterday for tea tasting. The restaurant was closed for a private event, but we were still permitted to roam around and shop. To be honest, I wasn't especially impressed with the Bois Cheri tea except for their coconut vanilla one, but the tea tasting was a great way to sample everything. If you do decide to purchase, do so here, as the same Bois Cheri tea I saw in City Center and Waterfront were nearly double in price. The staff was very nice as well. This was a pleasant stop on our trip.

SSR Botanical Garden of Curepipe, established in 1870, offers a refreshing escape from the urban hustle. The garden boasts a variety of endemic plants and is adorned with streams and ponds. Families and couples frequent this picturesque spot for its expansive green spaces where children can frolic freely. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks, picnics, or even jogging while taking in the well-maintained surroundings.
Beautiful Green Space garden having several endemic plants. Very idle for a walk or footing or even a picnic with friends and family. Don't forget to clean up after your visit so as to keep the environment green and neat!

I recently visited SSR Botanical Garden in Curepipe and had a truly peaceful experience. Entry is free, and as soon as you step in, you’re surrounded by natural beauty. One highlight was an old gazebo hut with historical information – it added a lovely charm. I spent about 30 minutes walking through the garden, admiring the variety of plants and a beautiful little water stream flowing through. The sound of birds, flowing water, and the cool breeze created such calming vibes. I sat near the stream for a while, and it felt incredibly peaceful — like time had slowed down. Honestly, this place may be small, but it’s perfect if you’re looking to connect with nature or just find a moment of quiet. Highly recommended if you’re in Curepipe and want a peaceful break. 🌿😊

Floreal Square, situated in Plaines Wilhems, Mauritius, is a renowned shopping destination offering a diverse range of products such as traditional remedies, homemade oils, and unique handicrafts. Despite the decrease in the number of shops, it remains a charming place to take a leisurely stroll. The square also features essential amenities like boutique stores, a bank, and restaurants. Additionally, visitors can appreciate the convenience of parking facilities and access to health-focused services within this tranquil setting.
One boutique, a bank, restaurant, and a few others. A small square but a nice place to take a stroll. The bathroom has 3 stalls equipped with toilet paper, a purse hook, and the sink has hand soap. All a + for me!

Nestled in the heart of Curepipe, Bistro Barbu is a delightful culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This charming eatery boasts a rustic and authentic ambiance, making it the perfect spot to unwind after exploring the vibrant town. Guests rave about their delicious offerings, including standout dishes like the lamb burger topped with creamy avocado and sweet caramelized onions. The menu also features tasty options such as mini burgers and crispy sweet potato chips, though some diners noted they could be improved.
Excellent burger in a cozy environment. Food is tasty, and it feels homemade. However can improve on the chocolate mousse. Overall I would definitely recommend

Very interesting restaurant within the food court of the Arcade Currimjee. The decor is quite artistic and gives the restaurant a certain charm. There's lots of interesting things on the menu and is quite famous for its burgers. I tried the Fish & Chips served with a lemon sauce and really enjoyed it. The batter was light and crispy while the fish was just soft and juicy inside. The exact combination all mixed up with the lemon sauce was just sublime!

Ourite saffrané is a must. Mayo was very light and seasoned. Very crsipy and tasty. The Gigolo burger was good. Well stuffed. The sause was good. Sweet potato chips were too thin. Lack a bit caramelized onions . The burger mort - subite was good also. Patties were cooked on point. Salad won my heart. Full of nuts and cheese. Flying dodo beverages available. Beer is a must in this summer. Environment is rustic and authentic. Spacious but tend to be crowded quickly. Staffs are friendly.
Shellyana L — Google review
The appetizer and chicken burger were nice. The lamb was OK. The chips were a bit oily and burnt. Need to improve on the service.
Nirvashi M — Google review
The price of the chicken burger is too exorbitant! It was just good enough. The service is also sluggish. When you're alone the supervisor does not give you the same welcome compared when you're in group. The salad had a rotten cheese in it! The sauce they used had a bad taste to it. I don't advise anybody to go there. Drive smash burger, ichicken and McDonald's is much better! That place is not worth your money or time.

The service was too slow… Had taken a Hawaiian burger accompanied with manioc chips which was totally cold … The taste was very plain and not up to the standard .. It was overpriced for the quality of food and service… You really need to improve in all areas …..

Eureka - La Maison Creole is a restaurant located in the heart of Bagatelle Mall, nestled in Moka, Mauritius. It offers a wide variety of Mediterranean seafood dishes and has retained an iconic status through continuous innovation. Visitors have praised the delicious food and great service provided by the staff. The restaurant's location makes it convenient for visitors to explore other nearby attractions and enjoy a delightful dining experience.
Dear reader, This is a beautiful old colonial style house and has access to around 90% of its area. This is a must see if you are touring the island. It will cost you 400MUR / person, and you can pay by cash or card. If you’ve been on a journey, they also have a toilet stop! Which is clean and convenient. We didn’t stay for any food, although others have reviewed this, and I believe this is ok. We took a walk to the waterfalls (4), and was the main reason for going. Key note: please prepare, good walking shoes, and mosquito spray. These two are a must. The walk / hike down is very slippery. You walk down rocks and very small trails. So … be careful. Take your time. That said, the views are spectacular! It’s really worth it. My attached video just shows what amazing sights await you. The house itself is super cool. It’s depicts a story since 1836 I believe. The house walks you through a family story and has some great pictures and furniture. From the garden looking back to the house, the backdrop is stunning. On the right day, late afternoon, great pictures can be taken. I hope you enjoy as much as we did.
Simon C — Google review
Nice excursion destination, the manor house is really great. The waterfalls are spectacular, but you should be sporty to reach them; however, it will be worth it—the view is worth everything.
Chris S — Google review
Nice colonial house and a very cute restaurant. Rooms were nice and elegant, and the terrace offers an amazing view. Entrance ticket also allows you to visit the 4 Eureka waterfalls. It a 15 min walk until the first one one maybe another 10 until you get the last one. Then you’ll find a sign (to mansion) and it’s a short cut to get quite close to the end of the trail. The train is between vegetation so there will be a lot of mosquitoes.

We wanted a break between driving from north to south and chose this over visiting the mall and were not disappointed! What a beautiful place! We had the creole menu first out on the terrace of the building with a beautiful view. The food tastes homemade in the best way, and service was super friendly. The cappuccino was delicious! Visiting the old house was very interesting. It would have been great to get some more information and facts about life back then and the history of the house, but it was very enjoyable nevertheless. We walked down to the waterfalls which were beautiful as well (wear good shoes and use mosquito repellent!). Can highly recommend visiting this place when in the area.

I found this place on Google Maps while searching for Indian food in the Port Louis area. Indra seemed like the most convenient option, as it features a spacious garden, beautiful scenery, and a historical train in the vicinity. The ambiance truly reflects an Indian aesthetic, with gold and wooden décor, cozy sofas to relax while enjoying Indian melodies, and a stylish bar to unwind. The entrance was impressive, and the welcoming service stood out. The Indian waiters were highly attentive and provided excellent service, explaining the menu in detail. We ordered a variety of curries, a mixed platter, naan, and different cocktails. Each curry had a distinct flavor and was well-prepared, with portion sizes that ensured everyone got a fair share of meat. For a group of six, the total bill was 5000 MUR, which was incredible considering that each person had a starter, main course, dessert, and drinks. Day 4

Off the beaten path
For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Anse Petit Boileau. Not quite as popular as Curepipe, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 2 hours.

Anse Petit Boileau

Anse Petit Boileau, located near Police Bay in the southern part of Mahe, is a secluded and exclusive beach that offers a peaceful and serene environment. Accessing the beach requires taking a steep concrete path towards the Old Prison, making it unsuitable for small children. The area is not ideal for swimming due to deep and wild waters with warning signs posted. Despite this, visitors can enjoy relaxing on the secluded beach surrounded by natural shade.
Stunning beach well off the beaten track, we last visited 20 years ago and had to make the sentimental return trip whilst back in Mahe. Last time we were the only two people there, today there were 5 others...... Lol The water is too deep and wild to swim in and there are warning signs everywhere. Nonetheless, I braved some paddling.

On foot: The easiest and fastest way to get here from Grand Police Bay is through the coastal rocks. There is no proper footpath through the forest. Bring: Lots of water, caps, shoes and slippers. The beach is secluded and great for relaxing. There are few places with natural shade.

30 min walk through the forest with a pretty steep uphill, but totally worth it! We were completely alone, only with the crabs😁 huge waves, not for swimming

This beach was beautiful and the water was so clean. The waves were the biggest I’ve ever seen so I’d say it’s more of a surfer’s dream, you definitely couldn’t swim in this water. So peaceful to watch the water. Great beach.

ONLY take the path on the left , concrete path towards the Old Prison, stay on the path , it's steep but keep going past two fences, and the beach from heaven will be at the end of the trail . Not suitable for small children due to steep concrete roads uphill and down. Come prepared and whatever you do , do not go to Rocks at the beach side , do not try to cross from beach to beach , beware, you have been warned . It took us 35-40 minutes . Enjoy

A really beautiful beach, it is best to take the paved mountain route that starts between Anse Bazarca Beach and Petite Police Beach. At some point you should bypass a fence on the road. The hike is very steep but pleasant, with pineapples and oranges growing alongside.

Very beautiful beach, worth visiting! 👍

A long, curved bay where the water is often too shallow to swim properly, but local fishermen use this to advantage, tying up their boats in Anse Boileau. This means that visitors to the bay can catch a glimpse into the everyday life of Seychellois fishermen.

Municipality of Beau Bassin Rose Hill

Government
The Municipality of Beau Bassin Rose Hill is housed in a unique Creole-style building constructed in 1933, making it a must-see for architecture enthusiasts.
The rubbish collection and general cleaning is a disgrace. I have lost count how many times that I have to ask the lazy, arrogant and incompetent garbage collectors to do their job! Forget calling the joke of a helpline! They either never answer the call or just put you on hold.
Melt — Google review
They dont offer online facilities to pay yearly municipal fees and have to go there in person and risk infection.the staff are polite but some of the security guards are problematic. Not enough parking space, i hope they will in the near future give there bank account number for online payment.edit: i was surprised to read that the municipality paid for a New Jaguar for the Mayor to drive in.i know where focus is being put instead of doing his job.

(Translated by Google) Road infrastructure is not suitable for pedestrians. Particularly around the red lights on the Ste Anne and Sir Célicourt Antelme roads leading to the Hugnin road. Pedestrians are often hit by cars, I invite users to file a complaint against the municipality for endangering users. Generally speaking, the pedestrian population is discriminated against. We are all potential pedestrians. (Original) Les infrastructures routières ne sont pas adaptées aux piétons. Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Rose-Hill, Miss Daisy Bistrot offers a delightful home-cooked experience with its ever-changing menu and affordable prices. The daily selection features local favorites like lamb curry and international dishes such as chicken burgers and pan-fried dorado fish. Visitors appreciate the welcoming atmosphere, though some suggest improving odors. Diners also enjoy the inclusion of salad and fries in meals, fresh ingredients, and commendable presentation efforts.
Miss Daisy Bistro holds a special place in my heart whenever I'm in the Rose Hill region. While I often indulge in their delightful vegetarian paninis and burgers, my companions rave about their flavorful burgers, varied salads and hearty club sandwiches. From refreshing iced tea to creamy milkshakes and expertly crafted cappuccinos, their beverage selection never disappoints. Although the place can get busy during peak times, the wait is always worth it for the delicious fare and charming ambiance. The friendly lady owner adds a personal touch, ensuring that every visit is a memorable one. Here are some photos capturing the wonderful moments I've enjoyed at Miss Daisy Bistro.

The area is nice, calm, clean, and modern. Ideal for parents coming with their children. My daughter liked the pond with the koi fish. The lamb burger with fries is great and fills you up well. The kids' menu is super nice. We feel comfortable and relaxed."

We absolutely love it Our waitresses were fabulous, the welcoming and service so good...

I will always return for their daily specials and the sandwich club. The decor is fantastic, and the staff are amazing. It’s hard to believe such a lush, welcoming spot exists right in the heart of Rosehill. I highly recommend grabbing lunch at this wonderful restaurant!

Food is absolutely wonderful. Tasty and good portions. However, the place needs more tables I think because one thing happened to me once, which made me not go back yet: my friend and I were not yet finished, my friend still had ½ of her salad left on her plate and my club sandwich was still in front of me, the waitresses came to ask us if we were finished because they had other clients waiting for this table. We felt rushed. Got up, left the food, paid and went. This is not a way of dealing with clients ! The restaurant had other tables with other clients who appeared to have finished. Why ask us specifically, two girls alone? Felt suspish and disrespectful which is annoying because the food was great.
Luicinda S — Google review
Its a very nice and cozy place for a breakfast, brunch , lunch or snacks. The decor is very peaceful and refreshing. Even though it is situated in a busy area in Rose Hill, it is a good escape place. The food is really good and prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. Parking may be a problem. There is a paid parking on the street and also a paid parking lot on the next street. On the down side, the place is not open for dinner and there is a wait before being served since the food is made fresh.

Great place to visit in central rose hill for lunch or afternoon tea. Good variety of meals and drinks. Coffee is made using freshly grinded coffee beans. Nice back garden area away from all the noise.
