Positano in 5 days

If you only have 5 days to spend in Positano, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Positano is a dramatic cliffside village on the Amalfi Coast, known for its pastel houses stacked above a pebbled shoreline and clear Tyrrhenian Sea views. Visitors come for its atmospheric lanes filled with boutiques, cafés, and artisan sandal shops, as well as scenic beaches like Spiaggia Grande and Fornillo. It’s also a base for coastal boat trips and for hiking routes such as the nearby Path of the Gods, which offer sweeping vistas over the coastline.
With favorites like Saraceno d'Oro, Lo Guarracino, and Terrazza Celè, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Rada Beach Ristorante and Casa Mele so you can get the best taste of Positano while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Grotta dello Smeraldo, also known as the Emerald Grotto, is a stunning underwater cave located on Italy's Amalfi Coast. Discovered in 1932, this hidden gem offers boat tours that allow visitors to admire its unique blue-green light and marvel at the stalactites, stalagmites, and even an underwater ceramic manger. While it may be less famous than Capri's Blue Grotto, it still impresses with its natural beauty.
Small grotto with a beautiful blue/green light filtering through. Amazing natural stalactite and stalagmite formations. Had a fun Italian guide who rowed the boat and took us to all the corners of the cave. We won’t forget you, Ernesto!

This area had needed to come from Amalfi pear. Not enter from here directly. Please confirm boat ticket shop at Amalfi pear. For me, not so bad not so good to come here. Because of just one cave and like a pool area, not so deep and large cave, just hotel pool size. Boat round trip : 15euro/person Cave trip : 10euro/person If you have a time , just check at boat ticket center and join this.
Takahiro M — Google review
Arrived by bus. Follow the indications. You have to go down stairs and then take an elevator to the lower level. 10€/ person for entry ticket The tickets are bought directly before the cave opening. Would recommend going in the afternoon for the reflection of the light on the walls.
Florence L — Google review
This was such a fun experience!! My mom and I didn’t get to visit the blue grotto in Capri, and this was recommended to us by a tour guide. We were worried it would be super touristy, however it was really incredible! For only 5€ (maybe 10€) a person, we had a fabulous guide and a lot of fun!! If you have extra time, or if you don’t get to visit the blue grotto, come see Grotta Smeraldo!!
Erin K — Google review
The cave is wonderful with the sunlight filtering through the water. The cavern is about 20m high and covered with limestone formations. The guide was pretty funny. The little boat ride in the cave lasts about 10 minutes. Parking is near impossible. We used the parking about 1k up the road towards Almalfi. 5 euro an hour. Probably easier to catch the bus.
Culum B — Google review
Such a beautiful beach. Get there early to get a spot otherwise it fills up fast. We were one of three couples there at 8am. Very romantic.
Kyle M — Google review
Forget blue grotto, go here instead! 10€, no wait time, free parking and half an hour on a rowboat in the cave. The guide Ernesto said to not forget him, so I don't. He was joking around and showing the best details, and speaks the most important words in most languages with good english. Go here, get on a boat with him, and see the blue shimmer through the water!
Aaron E — Google review
A very beautiful and interesting place. The guide Ernesto was also memorable. With good humor

Arienzo Beach Club Positano is a picturesque beach offering shuttle service, a restaurant, and beach amenities with stunning views of the Amalfi coast. It's known for its iconic orange umbrellas and can be reached by a complimentary boat. While some visitors find it to be nothing extraordinary, others appreciate the change in scenery from other nearby beaches. The club also features an on-site restaurant, although not all guests have had the chance to dine there.
We took a day off of our crazy Italy schedule to go to Arienzo. We stayed at Antalia Boutique Hotel which have the same owners so we were able to go and get a chair without having to purchase a bottle or anything. Although we were like 4th row in, it was fine. Boat shuttle was easy to find in Positano and a great ride right to the dock at the beach club and the vibe when we got off the boat was fantastic. Such great music! We went on a Sunday in September. We were brought over to our chairs and asked if we needed anything. We got some water to start as we had a reserved lunch at 1pm at the restaurant. Didn't expect much of the food for a beach club, but we were pleasantly suprised. We got the Caprese Salad, Octopus Salad, Grilled Entrecoste (pork) and of course an espresso. We sat right by the DJ on a bar top type table, although it was right in front of bathrooms wasn't a big deal as we were facing the water. Food and service was fabulous. We then got cocktails at our seats and got up to join the "lemoncello time" fun but didn't participate. Water was gorgeous but water shoes would have been helpful, the rocky "sand" and shore which was HOT with the sun was a little tough on bare feet but we did it. Was lots of fun, but I have to say 80% of the guests were American which was interesting. Let's just say that people watching is fun! Great place to spend the day to chill and enjoy the sea, food and music in Positano.

Arienzo Beach Club is a must when visiting Positano. It was easily the best day of my trip. The food, music, and atmosphere were flawless, and the beach itself was beautiful, spotless, and perfect for a refreshing swim. A big thank you to Antonio, who went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and taken care of all day. His hospitality and sense of fashionable sunglasses truly stood out. I will absolutely be back and am already looking forward to my next visit!

We got the package which comes with a bottle of wine and food (one appetizer and one main course dish per person). The food was great! The meatball pasta was delicious. The octopus appetizer was notable too. Is it worth the money? I’d say yes- you pay for access to the private beach, good sunbeds and excellent service. Even the shuttle service is quick and a fun ride.
Nidhi J — Google review
My wife and I had a blast coming here! I highly recommend coming to this private beach club. The music was a vibe, the food was excellent, and we had fun! We had the Unforgettable Memories package, especially since it was our honeymoon! The package includes: access to the beach club for the number of guests specified in the offer. 1 x Photoshooting 25 min 1 x Cake 1 x Flowers Bouquet 1 x Umbrella 2 x SunBed 2 x Towel 2 x Water Bottle 50cl 2 x Two Course Meal This is definitely something to do for a couple and I highly recommend this package!

My husband and I came here one day while we were here on our honeymoon, the vibe is amazing! Arienzo is a must. Service is great, the food was way better than I had expected, music is good and the vibe is just so fun. There is a private free boat that takes you from Positano to Arienzo every 30 mins. It was a perfect beach day. We got the Unforgettable Memories package and were seated in the first row. They brought us roses, a cake, and we even had a photo shoot included as well. So fun!

Arienzo Beach Club is a MUST if you’re visiting Positano. The transfer from the port to the beach club was made easy and effortless with the staff’s communication and hospitality. We were greeted with a bottle of some of the best rosé I’ve ever had, and the beach side service was unmatched!! We spent all day going back and forth between our chairs and the water, enjoying fresh snacks and meals in-between. The food, drinks, music, service, and overall vibe were amazing. I’m dying to go back one day!!
Lindsey T — Google review
One of our favorite things we did on our trip! Arienzo was great starting from the waiting area in Positano. This beach club was so fun and had great vibes. Lunch and drinks were great. Swimming on their beach was great as they had floats and paddle boards for guests and a jumping rock. They even had limoncello shots around 5pm which was a whole spectacle. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting the coast!

Beach club and a half. Well worth every penny. 🥘- superb food, start to finish 🍸- cocktails on point 💁 - service out of this world There is an included shuttle service to and from the beach. If you can only choose one beach club along the Amalfi coast, make it this one.

Ristorante Adamo ed Eva Positano is a dining spot located within the stunning 4-star Hotel Eden Roc, offering one of the most breathtaking views of Positano. With three levels of seating, including first come first served tables, reserved tables, and tasting menu options with the best views but at a higher cost, there's something for everyone. The restaurant blends tradition with innovation and provides an elegant and spacious dining room as well as a terrace with an awe-inspiring view.
Fantastic view in an Air Conditioned seating area. We ordered the Mullet and the Linguine and both were superb in taste, but the latter had some great value as the plate was packed with seafood and enough noodles to get you satiated. We also ordered the Pistachio Flan which also was very good. Service was very attentive without being overbearing. Only negative I can consider is the price. But still a great meal nonetheless.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The view, the service, and of course—the food. Special thanks to Gianna, who made our lunch even more memorable with her warm and attentive service. We felt genuinely welcome. Highly recommended!

We were able to walk in and get a table pretty quickly, but timing is everything, the restaurant got very busy after we were seated. We were just in time for sunset, which was beautiful. The Eden Roc pasta was delicious as well as the apple dessert. The picture and description do not do it justice, just order it and enjoy! Trust me!

We came across this mid day after just arriving to positano and with no reservation we were able to go right on up to get a table. Very attentive servers, very pleasant and amazing atmosphere. The view is beautiful and the food was just as amazing! Highly recommend if around. I can imagine there may be no open tables later in the evening for dinner but worth a try!
Anthony H — Google review
Adamo Ed Eva offered breathtaking views, making it almost worth the steep price tag of €40 for a pasta dish. (The average in the area is € 15-30 for a pasta dish.) The food quality was exceptional, and the presentation was visually appealing. However, my hunger from the numerous flights of stairs to the hotel may have clouded my judgment. The braised beef stuffed pasta we ordered fell short in every aspect. The beef was non-existent, and the pasta portion was minuscule compared to the other dishes served to other tables, which appeared more generous and visually appealing. The sea bass, on the other hand, was perfectly cooked and delicious. Perhaps it was food envy, but I would have opted for one of the spaghetti dishes instead of the pasta we ordered. The one with lemon and tuna looked amazing! The service was a major letdown. During the order process, our server abruptly walked away without uttering a word to help another table! We were visibly confused, and the manager walked over and took care of us. Everyone was super nice and kind. In conclusion, while the views are stunning, the price is exorbitant. At that price range, every dish should be exceptional, and the portion sizes should be comparable. Above all, the service should be impeccable. Unfortunately, if you are going to ask customers to pay these prices, you need to deliver higher on the food and the service. . .
Zac C — Google review
My meal (picture) was a very small portion for 45 euros so my husband shared his pasta with me, which was the same price for a fairly bigger portion. His choice was also much more delicious whereas mine was not really special, so I totally recommend what he had which is the anniversary special pasta. We didn't get the best table in the room either and had some insects jumping in our drinks at some point but our night was amazing anyway and that was because of the EXCELLENT service we got. Christian was honestly one of the best waiters we’ve ever seen, he made our experience unforgettable! The cheesecake was absolutely delicious as well.
Lisa J — Google review
Unfortunately this restaurant was not that memorable, and the food was below what I would expect it would be for the price point…. Starting with the positives, the service was absolutely phenomenal. Our waiter was fantastic and an all round great guy that made the evening a pleasure. The location is also good, with a really nice view, which is what I think attracts alot of the people to visit. The actual food, well, it leaves alot to be desired. The stuffed zucchini was great and tasted delicious. Our mains: the mullet and the sea food pasta, well we’ve had better. The value for money just isnt there… quality isnt that high to justify the price point sadly. The pasta was rather bland and the mullet was a tiny portion that tasted very “fishy”… if you know what I mean. Overall, I left feeling that they could do alot better charging what they do.

Prices are high, but you're paying for incredible views. I think it's worth it. Especially the VIP private terrace, worth every penny. The food was very good (especially the fried calamari), and great drinks. 10/10 would recommend!

Rada Beach Bistrot is a trendy and high-end restaurant located at the end of the seafront promenade in Positano. It offers breathtaking views of the town and the sea from its first-floor dining room and panoramic terrace. The restaurant serves excellent seafood dishes, along with a wide selection of Italian and French wines. Additionally, it houses a stylish Fly lounge bar on its terrace and a disco called Music on the Rocks on the ground floor.
Our cooking class with Chef Andrea Ruggiero at Rada was hands-down one of the highlights of our trip to the Amalfi Coast. From start to finish, the experience was interactive, fun, and absolutely delicious. Chef Andrea is not only incredibly skilled but also warm and engaging, making the entire class feel approachable and entertaining—even if you're not an experienced cook. We prepared a beautiful three-course meal: classic margherita pizza with a homemade tomato sauce, fluffy gnocchi tossed in fresh basil pesto, and a decadent chocolate orange cake—a regional favorite. Every single dish was bursting with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. One of our favorite parts was the community-style dinner at the end. Sitting together to enjoy the feast we had all helped create, with the stunning backdrop of Positano, was a perfect way to end the class. It felt more like a party than a class, and we left full of both food and joy. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Positano. Whether you're a foodie, a beginner, or just looking for something unique to do—this is a must!

Rada Positano was the perfect spot for our date night. The views were breathtaking and set such a romantic atmosphere. The food was amazing every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. 🌊✨ Rada Beach Restaurant – A Slice of Heaven in Positano ✨🌊 From the moment we arrived, Rada Beach Restaurant swept us off our feet. The views? Breathtaking. Nestled right above the shimmering coastline, every table feels like a front-row seat to paradise. The food was just as unforgettable—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite felt like a celebration of the Amalfi Coast. And the service? Impeccable. The staff made us feel genuinely welcomed, striking that perfect balance of warmth and professionalism. Whether you're here for a romantic dinner, a special occasion, or just to soak in the magic of Positano, Rada Beach is a must. I left feeling full, inspired, and already dreaming of my next visit. Highly recommend!

Beautiful view looking at Positano and the beach but the food was lacking in quality. The octopus was tough and chewy and the sirloin steak was over cooked and fatty. Service was good, they were attentive but didn’t react when told the food wasn’t as good as it should be. You get small complementary entree and dessert but would prefer the melas be of higher standard. When paying the lady asked for a tip (she was front of house) and when declined she threw the receipt down and walked off.

Super cute location with great atmosphere and delicious food. Had such a beautiful dinner here on top of cave side with very attentive service. Absolutely yummy food. They kept bringing us extra sides and adding to the night. Overall great quality and really enjoyed - recommend

Delicious al dente pasta here! I ordered caprese salad, pasta con pomodori and pasta con zucchini and they were all mouthwatering. The scenery is amazing just next to the beach and you can find good photo angles all around the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Underwhelming experience. Booked this dinner for my birthday while traveling in Europe. They acknowledged upon checking in to my reservation that I it was my birthday dinner, but no mention of it otherwise . Our table ordered 4 desserts and no acknowledgment of my birthday or even a written note on the plate or candle like other places will do. The food was also just ok but tbh I didn’t find any food in Positano to be memorable. Maybe I’m spoiled living in NYC and having access to the best food, but I think Italian food in NYC is better than any food I’ve had in Italy and I’ve been to Italy a few times. The dessert was probably the best item. Fresh local strawberries were great! Then half way through our dinner, I believe it was the owner and his friends brought out a TV so they can watch the soccer game. They shut off the music and this just killed the whole atmosphere and vibe which was part of the reason to book dinner here in the first place. Service was just ok. Staff was also busy watching the soccer game. Next to the restaurant is Music on the Rocks. The concept is cool but the club was dead. Location overall is probably the best part of this restaurant/club on the spiagga grande, but nothing to write home about.

Casa Mele, located in Positano, is a small restaurant offering innovative tasting menus and cooking classes. Founded by owner Raffaele Mandara, the venue aims to create a welcoming environment reminiscent of home. Despite lacking a view, Casa Mele combines local ingredients with inventive flavor combinations to produce exceptional dishes. The unassuming exterior leads into an open, lively, and modern space where guests can indulge in delicious regional cuisine and even participate in cooking classes.
We had an incredible experience at Casa Mele in Positano, taking a private cooking class with Chef and owner Raffaele Mandara. He made the entire experience so easy to follow, detailed, relaxed, and joyful — truly a pleasure from start to finish. We love Italian food, and having the opportunity to learn how to make it under Chef Raffaele’s guidance was a real privilege. We prepared tiramisu, fish, eggplant balls, tomato sauce, and pasta — everything was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend taking a cooking class with Chef Raffaele if you are in Positano. It’s an experience you will never forget!

We had an absolutely amazing experience here. The food was, in my opinion, Michelin Star worthy. The service, atmosphere, and ambiance were off the charts and the food was the cherry on top. The price, for the quality, is beyond affordable and the attentiveness was top notch. We highly recommend this restaurant when you visit Positano, so make sure you check it out!

If you desire an artfully prepared, unique, 1 of 1 Italian dining experience then Casa Mele is a must. Absolutely incredible food. And great wines too. If you are accustomed to extremely high end fine dining type of service then it might feel a bit casual or laid back in regard to service.. which can honestly feel nice when compared to many other stuffy high end places. And the food is absolutely 10/10…. If you are a real foodie type or truly appreciate beautiful, unique, delicious ingredients then you can’t miss this place.

Best restaurant in Positano, hands down! Outstanding value for money for a really refined food offering. A real change from the traditional type of restaurant that is typical in Positano. Service was impeccable, quality ingredients cooked very well. Extremely kind staff including the owner chef Raffaele.

Wow, Casa Mele blew my mind with the ultimate chef-to-table party! Picture this: a jaw-dropping 15+ course Italian food extravaganza, complete with a chef putting on a warm and homey cooking show right in front of us! We snagged front-row seats and watched the magic unfold—every dish was a flavor explosion! Toss in three bottles of wine, and it turned into a total blast! The staff? Absolute rockstars—super friendly, accommodating, and keeping the good vibes flowing. One drawback is the lack of a view to the famous Positano, but the incredible food and experience more than make up for it. You’ve GOT to check this place out—highly recommend!

My daughter (7yr) and I had a wonderful experience with the cooking class. The food was amazing, the class is adapted and the chef is happy to answer any questions. They cater for gluten free and children while keeping adults entertained. It opened my daughter up to new pasta dishes and she polished off everything from the 4 courses! Thank you for the wonderful memories we created yesterday.

Did a cooking class here with Rosa. She was lovely. Fresh ingredients, you don’t have to do a ton of cooking (mainly prep and learning about the ingredients and cuisine). It was so much fun and a great way to spend the afternoon. (Unlimited prosecco included)

We got the best table, seated side by side, watching the chefs prepare our Casa Mele Experience (7 course tasting menu). Each dish was generously portioned with an interesting mix of flavours. 2 starters, 2 pastas and 2 mains. Loved watching the chefs work. They’re a cheerful bunch. The waiters were warm and prompt, each course came very quickly. Service was excellent, food and presentation was faultless. Best meal in Positano, and we went to some other Michelin recommended restaurants which were sadly disappointing. For the amount of food you get, the price is actually amazing. The menu states the last course as “desserts”. They brought out 5 different types of desserts. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Chez Black is a historic restaurant that has been serving delicious seafood since 1949. Located on the Spiaggia Grande promenade, this maritime-themed trattoria offers a unique dining experience with its boat-like decor and beachfront terrace. The menu features delectable dishes such as sea urchin pasta, mussels, grilled fish, and the infamous heart-shaped pizza. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a popular spot for locals, tourists, and even celebrities.
We ate here for dinner twice and lunch once. Twice we called the day before and got a booking easily. 3rd time we actually just walked up and they found us a table. My daughter and I love this place. The 2 managers at the front escorting you to your table are always welcoming. The food was excellent each time and the staff, well we met a few of them and they were ALWAYS professional, happy, attentive, fast and made our dinning experience very pleasurable. I recommend this restaurant for you to dine in and we are sad to move on to another city so all the best you guys at Chez Black. ❤️🙏

What a truly memorable evening we had at Chez Black in Positano! Still run by the Russo family, this iconic seafront restaurant has been delighting guests since it opened back in 1949, originally founded by “Captain” Salvatore Russo - nicknamed “Black” by visiting tourists. Remarkably, the owner himself is still there - greeting guests with the same warmth and charm as ever - and his son is now carrying on the legacy. It’s one of those rare places where you truly feel part of a family tradition. The food was nothing short of sublime - every dish we had was full of flavour and beautifully executed. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout, ensuring we felt completely taken care of. If you’re seeking a restaurant that blends seaside elegance, heartfelt hospitality, and generations of culinary passion, Chez Black is an absolute must.

Location was great, near the ferry stop and beach, had a good atmosphere. The food arrives at all different times, the fries and plate of fruit salad arrives 10-15min after everything else. Asked for tomato sauce for the chips which never arrived. Given the prices, would have expected a little more attention. The pizza had flavour and was €22 and a plate of fruit was €20 with 5 strawberries, pineapple and honeydew. I suspect they are targeting tourists.

We visited in July during our Honeymoon. This was one of the most recommended restaurants in the area. Many famous people have been here and so of course we wanted to give it a try. The atmosphere and location are great. The ambiance is also great and the food was good. The 2x we went, it was for lunch. The 2nd time we visited, they seated us and then rushed us to give our order because the kitchen was closing. When we were being seated or when the server 1st came to us they could have told us. They also could have told us no and we would have understood but it wasn't nice being rushed. The food was good, portion sizes were nice. and just a heads up the tomato salad isn't a salad. its just a plate of tomatoes :)

Not sure why the reviews aren’t higher…. This place is fantastic. I usually try to avoid restaurants in very touristy areas, but very glad I came here. The food is absolutely fantastic and authentic. The service is super fast and very very welcoming-our waiter Pasquale was amazing! The restaurant is bustling so the atmosphere is great and right in the beach in the main area. It is a little pricey but it’s on the beach in Positano so that’s to be expected. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Amazing food, the staff are very friendly & the service is top notch. Has a big variety of different dishes, done well. The wine list is also reasonably priced compare to other restaurants nearby. Highly recommended.

Chez Black is a Positano classic – right on the beach, buzzing with energy, and the kind of place where you immediately feel part of the Amalfi vibe. The location can’t be beat, with tables spilling out toward the sand and views of the colorful cliffside. It’s busy (and a bit touristy), but that’s part of the charm – it’s fun to watch the crowd and soak in the atmosphere. The seafood is fresh and beautifully presented, and the wood-fired pizza lives up to the hype – thin, crispy, and full of flavor. Service is fast and friendly despite the constant flow of guests, and the décor, with its nautical touches, adds to the seaside experience. It’s not the quietest or most intimate spot, but if you’re looking for a lively meal in the heart of Positano, Chez Black delivers. A must-stop for the iconic experience and people-watching.

This is an iconic restaurant in Positano. It is very difficult to book a table in a good place…. We were lucky, but within 10 minutes there was no table available. The service was fast, the seafood risotto was really one of the best I have ever eaten. The nerano spaghetti is definitely recommended to try.🫶

The food was amazing! Best we had in Italy ! The staff so warm and welcoming! And I will forever be thinking about the ravioli I had ! Absolutely loved this place and its staff. 10/10 We went both days we were there to eat. Pizza also delicious and rigatoni

Nice spot by the beach with a prime location. The ambience is lovely, and the place is always busy. The food was ok but nothing exceptional—so don’t go expecting gourmet quality. If you're after a beachfront setting with a lively atmosphere, this could be a good option.

As a mortgage lender from the US, I’ve been fortunate to travel and try incredible restaurants, but Le Tre Sorelle in Positano was truly special. The seafood was outstanding — the fresh catch of the day was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Their pizza was also one of the best we had during our entire time in the region. Beautiful setting, great service, and an unforgettable meal — absolutely a must-visit in Positano.

This restaurant is an absolute gem right near the beach. The views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. My server was incredibly sweet and even helped me make a reservation for 7 PM again tonight !!such thoughtful service! The food is delicious and definitely worth the price. And I can’t get over their olive oil — it’s truly to die for! Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area.

We had an excellent meal here. We had the sautéed red fish and a pasta with shrimp. We took the recommendations of the staff. Food was absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Chocolate almond cake was one of the best. We were here off season so it was quite enjoyable .

This restaurant is honestly underrated for its food. The staff were all kind and polite to us. The pasta portions were generous and reasonably priced, especially considering the restaurant's location right in front of the famous Positano beach area. Anyway they have some lovely drawing plate. I particularly enjoyed the Paccheri Con Zucchine E Percorino; it was delicious, creamy, and not too rich. I also recommend the calamari fritti as an appetizer; it was crispy, juicy, and easy to chew. The mussel spaghetti was also delicious and not at all fishy; the pasta was perfectly al dente. Overall, it's a truly excellent restaurant that deserves five stars for its food and location.

A beachfront restaurant in Positano. I was apprehensive considering most places with such views tend to skimp on food quality. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was quite good, especially the oysters. Can't beat sipping on a limoncello spritz while you enjoy ocean views and delicious seafood. But understand: this place is expensive, as everywhere in Positano. I live in Alaska and the prices here were similar. Worth it, though.

AMAZING RESTAURANT! We’re from the United States, came here in the off season and felt so welcomed here. The food is delicious, the best meals we’ve had abroad - but the waiters and staff are INCREDIBLE! I’m so thankful for this restaurant. If you get a chance to eat here it’s a must!

Positano Spiaggia

Beach
Positano Spiaggia, also known as Marina Grande Beach, is a must-visit destination in Positano. This lively beach offers stunning views of the town, with its vibrant restaurants and nightlife. The dark gray sand looks especially beautiful at dusk when the town lights create a mesmerizing backdrop. Nestled in the hills of the Amalfi Coast, Positano boasts colorful houses perched above luxury yachts in the harbor.
It is as breathtaking and amazing as you see in the pictures. The colourful village pirched of the rocks just looks amazing from whichever angle you look. The only problem is, because it looks so good, everyone wants to take a picture everywhere. It can get very crowded and people stalling everywhere for pictures makes the walking experience somewhat bothersome. The beach itself is also lovely although much of it is encroached by the restaurants so the public area is tiny. Yet definitely would do it again.

Positano looks like a real-life postcard. Colorful houses, breathtaking views, and a town center full of charm. The beach is mostly private (tiny public area), and there are tons of stairs. It gets packed in summer, but the vibe makes it all worth it.

The most beautiful backdrop from this beach ⛱️. Not the soft sands of Siesta Key, Florida, but most memorable nonetheless.

Nice beach but it take time to get bus from Sorento to here: - After reaching Sorento, you need go down stair quickly and buy ticket at a grocery store, then line up on the opposite site of the station. If you are late, when the bus come, if you was not in the very first place, you might be cut when the bus is full. And you need to wait for another 1h-1.30h to get another one. However, on the bus you dont know when you should stop, because there is no announce ment, and you need to make a best guest. (I stop at the place show direction to walk down to Positano, but in fact I just need to wait for 3 more stops). Then I walked down and find the beach, during that time, it is nice to see a whole place from top to bottom + struggle to find right way to go down (I decided to get any stair I saw to go down even if it showed I go against google map direction 🫨). After enjoy the beach, I walked up stair to find the bus stop. And I visited some stores along the way, and they are supper expensive compared to Rome and Naples 😂. Again, I discovered random path and found nice place to take good pictures. Finally, I followed google map and went up stair seem like 10-floor building 😂, instead of following the crowd. And get the bus which is crowded and I need to stood for 1h 🫥. In general, nice trip with great experiences but I dont think I will come back as it is too tired for a long wait on bus to go there and get back.
Duc N — Google review
Visiting Positano Spiaggia was truly an unforgettable experience. As soon as you arrive in Positano and begin walking down toward the beach, it feels like stepping into a living painting. The colorful houses cascading down the hills, blended with the deep blue of the sea and the clear sky, create a breathtaking scene that’s hard to put into words. The beach itself is well-organized, with long rows of blue umbrellas and sunbeds that add a beautiful touch to the view. The water is clean and crystal clear, though it can be a bit chilly depending on the time of year. The atmosphere is relaxing, and the sound of the waves adds a soothing background to your time there. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés just steps away from the shore, where you can enjoy a delicious Italian meal or a refreshing drink while taking in the sea view. Prices can be slightly higher than in other places, but the overall experience is well worth it. Walking along the pathways around the beach offers great opportunities to capture panoramic photos of one of the most beautiful coastal towns in the world. Whether you’re here to sunbathe, swim, or simply sit back and people-watch, Positano Spiaggia leaves you with a special memory that lasts a lifetime. For me, it was a day full of beauty, and I will definitely return in the future.

Da Vincenzo Positano 1958 offers an upscale Italian dining experience with a cozy atmosphere and a choice of indoor or terrace seating. The restaurant is known for its delicious seafood and pasta dishes, as well as its fast, friendly, and efficient service. While it may not offer scenic views of the town, it provides a great option for those seeking a satisfying meal in Positano.
First, let me say that the hostess was so kind to us. We walked in without a reservation, 30 minutes before they closed, but she still arranged a table for us, which we greatly appreciated. The food and presentation of the food was simply amazing. Every bite of every dish was exceptional. Also, the dessert was so good, light, but rich at the same time.

Great restaurant, good ambience. Street side dining with a wine cave room dining. Either is great. The food is good and consistent. We went in 2019 and again in 2025. Still amazing food. Reasonable local wine list. Staff is friendly. Recommend to book in advance but if you don't mind waiting they are happy to accommodate walk-in as well.

We showed up without a reservation and waited about 30 minutes on a Saturday, so grateful to have been seated, as there was a long line — absolutely worth it! The hostess, Ana, was so gracious and kind, and our server, Rafaele, was incredible — warm, attentive, and full of great wine recommendations. Marta also helped during our meal and was just lovely. Every dish was perfection — the zucchini flowers and pumpkin soup were outstanding, and the rigatoni with braised beef was easily the best pasta we’ve had so far in Italy. Beautiful views, an inviting atmosphere, and truly exceptional service. Hands down our best meal and best service in Positano — Da Vincenzo absolutely lives up to its reputation.

I’m a bit of a food snob, and this was hands down the best meal of our 11-day trip through southern Italy. We were constantly searching for great food, and this place absolutely delivered. We had the pumpkin soup, Genovese pasta, and sirloin steak. Every dish was perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. The tomatoes tasted like they’d just been picked from the garden. Service was kind, attentive, and well timed. The beautiful view and lovely girlfriend made it unforgettable. Not cheap, but neither is the quality of the food, atmosphere, or location. Excellent value and truly a highlight of our trip!

We actually had a wonderful time here. From the service to the food, it was great. You can skip the mini calzone things, they were fine but nothing special. The zucchini pasta was one of the best dishes I had this whole trip. The profiteroles were delicious. Service was great!

Popular place in Positano and with reason. Every dish was delicious. The mussels were some of the freshest mussels I’ve ever had. This place and a handful of restaurant in the area are the only few good places that aren’t tourist traps (as told by a local chef). Need to make a reservation online!

The Best Food and the Worst Service In southern Italy, I had an excellent plate of Vongole and Anchovy Pasta. Hard to believe such a fantastic dish could be ruined by the service. The chef’s food was outstanding, but the waitress completely destroyed the experience with her rude and discriminatory behavior. September 2, 2025 – female server working the floor. She urgently needs proper retraining, as her attitude is unacceptable in hospitality. Food: ★★★★★ Service: ☆☆☆☆☆

Exceptional dining experience at Da Vincenzo! Every dish was beautifully presented and the flavors were outstanding - truly top-level cuisine. The service was equally impressive, attentive without being intrusive. As someone who invests in premium restaurants, I can appreciate the attention to detail that goes into creating this level of consistency. No wonder reservations need to be made several days in advance - this is exactly the kind of quality that builds lasting success. The combination of stunning Positano location with world-class food and service makes this a must-visit destination. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

La Cambusa is a historic and stylish Italian trattoria located in the Marina Grande area of Positano, Italy. It offers an excellent fish menu with fresh catches displayed in the shop window. The restaurant's elegant location on Piazzetta Amerigo Vespucci provides stunning views of the Amalfi Coast and the Mediterranean Sea, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or casual lunch.
Tried La Cambusa for dinner and was blown away by their pasta and view of the water! We ordered a few pastas to share in the middle, and they all were fantastic. The view sitting in Positano over the beach was equally spectacular, combining to make a wonderful experience. Service was good and fast, and the seating area had some great summer vibes as well. Also had easy and close access to the markets as well. Highly recommend this spot!

La Cambusa is wonderful and especially flexible with our time of reservation change. Our server, Osvaldo, was fantastic he remembered us as soon as we returned and provided exceptional service. Our food was excellent and we were able to order desserts to go for dessert later on our balcony as the portions were generous and we could not fit dessert at the time of dinner. Please try, you will be so happy!!

The rude & racist service of two main male waiters was the main issue. They were rude to many visitors and not to us directly. As soon as you speak firm with them and they see you are spending money then they back off and become friendly. Im dissapointed to give a low rating given the fact that the food was ok but such service is not acceptable. Junior staff were in fact nice but scared of the main grumpy waiters. Rosario was nice but other two were the main issue.

The left, front corner table is in my opinion one of best seats to watch Positano going about the busy tourist season. The view is spectacular and your out of the hustle and bustle on the second floor overlooking the ferries coming and going and the many boats that dot the harbor. Food was good, service was little slow but that was fine and we just sat, observed and enjoyed our meal and our day!!!

Lovely location right on the beach. Was extremely busy, but they found us a nice table. We found the food to be of a good standard, but nothing fancy. Service was attentive and speedy. The price was expensive, but that’s what you get being on the beach in Positano.

RACIST, RUDE, & UNDERCOOKED: Upon arrival, we were told we MUST order 1 main dish each. We watched on after sitting, no other guests were told this. Throughout the dinner, the host kept uttering statements under his breath. Then to pay, we were the only table told to pay at the front. All other tables were brought the machine. (All other guests happened to be Caucasian). When we brought this attention to the lady at the front, she could care less. Half the clams in the Vongole were either closed and/or smelled off.

Cafe Positano is a long-standing venue known for its breakfast and seafood dishes, offering tables with stunning views overlooking the sea. Located along the main road in Positano, it's advisable to make reservations in advance due to its popularity. The restaurant offers a variety of fresh juices and smoothies, allowing customers to customize their orders. While the seating arrangement could be improved, the food receives high praise, particularly the Zucchini Flowers and traditional Fettuccine Alfredo.
We were able to walk in with a group of 5 and be seated in less than 10 minutes. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious, I had the carbonara and it did not disappoint. I also tried a platter of mixed grilled seafood, which was fresh like everything had been caught that morning. The desserts were also amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Cafe Positano is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and a view that takes your breath away. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant—perfect for a leisurely breakfast or a smoothie break with a view. The flavors here are simply delicious. Their smoothies are fresh, flavorful, and perfectly blended. I also have to rave about the toast—crispy, hearty, and topped with just the right ingredients. Every bite felt like a little celebration of good taste. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely care about your experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Cafe Positano makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy great food, stunning views, and top-notch hospitality!

Positano Cafe has a beautiful view of the city that makes it a lovely place to relax and dine. The food was very good — I had a steak with mushroom sauce that was cooked nicely, and the chicken with mushroom was also great. The wait was a bit longer than expected, and unfortunately one of the servers/hosts didn’t treat us very well. Thankfully, the manager stepped in, showed excellent professionalism, and even brought us a complimentary glass of champagne to make up for the situation. That gesture really turned things around and left us with a positive impression. Overall, a good spot with tasty food and a stunning view.

We just had a wonderful meal right by the beach in Positano. The highlight was the fried seafood platter — beautifully battered, fried to perfection, and not oily at all. The Pizza Diavola was also excellent, so tasty we finished it in no time. To end on a high note, the lemon dessert was the perfect finish. As expected for a beachfront restaurant, the prices are on the premium side, but with food of this quality and such a stunning view, it felt absolutely worth it.

Brunch here is good. The only letdown was the ham and cheese sandwich, which could be more presentable to say the least. The location is second to none though. Worth a try if you’re in Positano.

We had a dinner after our long hike and this place has the space for the big group. The service was very quick and friendly. There is good choice of food and drinks. The food was very tasty and I really enjoyed my rib dish made in Italian way. Yes, it is expensive for what you get but it's also a prime location and along the beach...soo you pay more for other things than food. They also have aquarium to choose fresh seafood if you don't mind paying a premium price.

Had an amazing lunch here on a day trip to Positano. Great service. Very quick and staff very lovely. The food was great and relatively priced for the location/view/atmosphere. Went solo but didn’t have to wait too long for a table. Would recommend booking a table if going on the weekend though for sure. Would love to bring my partner back for some food and drinks next time I’m in Positano. Went all out and got the lobster pasta. Fresh lobster from the tank named Pinchy (Simpsons reference).

The service here was absolutely disappointing .slow, snobby, and completely unappreciative. As Americans, we were immediately made to feel unwelcome, the staff barely smiled and seemed annoyed that we were even there. To top it off, they added a 6 euro cover charge, which felt ridiculous given how poor the service was. Luckily, we discovered Le Tre Sorelle right across the street... they welcomed us with open arms, great energy, and genuine hospitality. They love their tourists here!Don’t make the same mistake we did. Skipppp

What a gem at the beach in Pisitano! We ordered separate red snapper - one with their signature citrus sauce (including orange sections) and one with cherry tomatoes and basil. Both were freshly made and served quickly. We devoured bother with some crusty bread and a couple of glasses of white wine. Took in the beach scene while we sipped and had lunch. A must try in Positano.

I came here twice during my Positano trip because it was that good! Absolutely the best restaurant in all of Positano! We loved it so much that we came back three times during our stay. Every meal was exceptional. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The tiramisu? Quite honestly the best we’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The staff made the experience even better. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely fun to be around. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, with that perfect Positano charm. Very special thank-you to the waiters who looked after us🩷 We’d come back to Positano just to eat here again. A must-visit if you’re in town!

Nice seafood restaurant, cute, decently reachable/central for Positano, I think it's on one the main streets. Everything we ordered as delicious and the service was courteous. I enjoyed my seafood pasta. Was crowded on a Sunday night, but our large group was still accommodated.

The fries and zucchini fritters were really good. Perfect amount of saltiness for both. Unfortunately the Calamari was so chewy it was inedible and the fried shrimp was not even deveined so you were expected to use your only fork to clean poop out of the shrimp. The risotto was decent but not great. I’ve never had seafood that horribly prepared especially for being right on the coast. I have never not been able to enjoy shrimp or calamari. TOURIST TRAP! Server was extremely rude as well when we politely said the reasoning behind not finishing the seafood as they asked “you no like?” We simply replied stating it was a little chewy and we did not enjoy it in a very polite tone. Went away to the back and laughed saying chewy to coworkers. Would not recommend.

We thought the food was good. Good atmosphere. Our first encounter with the server, we ordered a limoncello spritz, and a Negroni. We didn’t receive the drinks until we had almost finished our entrées. (We didn’t orders starter dishes). Drinks took an additional 10 minutes after kindly reminding the server. My wife said the pizza was the best she’d ever had. The octopus was tender, but slightly under seasoned. The mashed potatoes were perfectly creamy. For dessert we ordered the lemon sorbet. It was good. Just had to wait several minutes to dip a spoon into it, as the whole unit was a frozen block of ice when it was served to us. I ordered a makers mark on the rocks. I would estimate it to be at least a double pour. I was very happy about that. Maybe you can be a victim of the friendly mistake of a double pour of whiskey :). We highly recommend the restaurant.

We happened upon this charming little spot after a day of exploring Positano and we were fortunate enough to get a last minute reservation in. Due to the extremely narrow road, there are some benches setup just past the eating area for guests to safely wait for their table to be ready. While we sat waiting for our table, we were provided with a small glass of prosecco (sparkling wine) and there was a menu stand available to look through. We were seated within 10ish minutes at most and introduced to our waiter Bruno who really made the meal and our evening special. Service was quick and the staff were buzzing about, somehow managing to avoid being hit by the insane amount of traffic flying by only inches away from the tables but fortunately we never felt unsafe. We started with the recommendations for wine from Bruno and really enjoyed his selections that were picked in mind with our meals. We selected the lobster pasta, and zucchini pastas before moving onto dessert and found the entire meal to be one of our favorites during our stay in Positano. The atmosphere was very fun with conversations spilling over to other tables and the staff appeared to be having fun as well. If you can get a reservation or there is an opening to eat here, you wont be disappointed.

Lo Guarracino is a charming restaurant located on a wooden deck with stunning views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. It offers regional pasta, fish dishes, and a selection of wines. The ambiance is described as quiet and surrounded by greenery. The menu includes vegan options such as grilled pumpkin, mixed salad, and garlic spinach. The restaurant is accessible via a beautiful uphill path that provides scenic views along the way.
We loved this restaurant as it was away from the business of the town centre but still has a lovely vibe. The food was delicious and the views were incredible! It’s near a beautiful quiet secluded beach which we spent the day at and loved! We went for lunch one day and dinner the next, we were sat quickly without a reservation each day. The staff are very busy but we weren’t left waiting. Would highly recommend!

We had the pleasure of dining at Lo Guarracino during our visit to Positano, after hearing rave reviews about its stunning views, and it certainly did not disappoint on that front! The restaurant offers a breathtaking ocean view, making it an incredible spot for a dinner with a view—perfect for watching the sunset over the Mediterranean. As for the meal, I opted for a pasta dish with fish, which was absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh, and the combination of pasta and seafood was spot on. My wife, on the other hand, went for a vegetable-based pasta, but unfortunately, she wasn’t fully satisfied with it. While it was decent, the dish didn’t quite hit the mark for her, and I think that’s partly because the menu is very seafood-focused, which isn’t really her preference. Overall, Lo Guarracino is a solid choice for a meal in Positano. The view alone makes it worth visiting, and while the seafood-heavy menu might not suit everyone, the quality of the food is undeniably good. It’s definitely a great spot for a romantic dinner with a view of the sea!

We dined here twice, once for dinner and once for lunch - and both times were excellent. The food was delicious with a good variety to choose from, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — A Culinary Highlight of Positano As someone who has traveled extensively and dined in some of the best restaurants across the globe, I can confidently say this was by far one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The food was nothing short of incredible — every single dish was a 10/10. Fresh, flavorful, and prepared with an attention to detail that truly sets this place apart. This restaurant alone is reason enough to return to Positano. Yes, the views are beautiful and the town is charming, but this dining experience was unforgettable. From the first bite to the last, everything was perfection. If you're in Positano — or even just somewhere nearby — do yourself a favor and book a table here. You won’t regret it.

Absolutely stunning spot by the sea – the view alone is worth coming, but the food makes it unforgettable. The Caprese was perfect: ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella and fresh basil, simple but full of flavor. Paired with a glass of bubbly and the sound of the waves, it felt like pure magic. ✨🍅🥂 The service was warm and attentive, and everything had this effortless elegance that makes you want to stay for hours. A place where food, atmosphere and scenery come together perfectly – truly unforgettable.

We stopped here for a late lunch while visiting Positano, and it turned out to be a lovely little hidden gem. We ordered a pizza and a fish dish to share. The pizza was absolutely incredible—exactly what you’d hope for in Italy. The fish, on the other hand, was just okay for us, not quite as memorable. One of the nicest things about this restaurant is that it’s about an eight-minute walk from the busier parts of Positano, so you get a peaceful, quiet atmosphere with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean and the boats. It really felt like a serene escape within Positano. We didn’t have a reservation when we arrived, but they were still able to seat us, which we really appreciated. Overall, a lovely spot to unwind and enjoy the view!

We had reservations the day before - must get. The view is beautiful of the amalfi coast and the food is superb! We had an incredible appetizer (zucchini flower) and 2 great dishes! Mine was the 10 out of 10 the eggplant parmigiana!! I prefer cream sauce vs red however this dish changed my mind!

Great views!! We walked in for lunch after being at Fornillo Beach and were seated right away. The seafood pasta was amazing!! Definitely get this. The pizza was good too but a little too wet for my liking. Service is very friendly and I’d come back here for sure.

Casa e Bottega in Positano offers a refreshing alternative to traditional Italian cuisine. Chef Tanina Vanacore's restaurant serves up fresh, healthy meals like chickpea burgers, zoodles, and poached eggs made with gluten-free ingredients. The menu also features sandwiches, salads, smoothies, cakes, and natural gelato. In addition to its dining area, the establishment operates as a homewares shop selling handmade ceramics and crafts.
A beautiful cafe serving Italian and brunch menus with a great coffee and drinks selection. The presentation of our dishes was immaculate and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The star hosts were the two dogs who welcome you and wander around without bothering you but you cannot help but bother them as they roam freely within the cafe. I loved everything about this cafe and would return the next time I visit Positano.

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Positano! I would eat here everyday, especially with the friendly dogs roaming around. The salmon with avocado is so fresh and tasty, the seared tuna on brioche is decadent, the tortellini melts in your mouth. Every bite was perfect! If you're in Positano, you must try this restaurant.

This place had incredible views! The restaurant itself is very trendy. The food looked incredible and tasted ALMOST as good as it looked! My only issue was with the price that they were charging for their food! €20 per dish seemed a touch steep for what it was. However I still would recommend checking this place out for breakfast or lunch!
Steve P — Google review
This was hands down my favourite place we went in all of Italy. The atmosphere was out of this world. It was still high enough up the hillside that there was a beautiful view out their front door. It was bright with lots of greenery inside. We went for breakfast and had some cappuccinos and croissants. They were delicious. I wish we went for lunch because their other food items coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. Their menu was reasonably priced. It's all fresh and made in house. The staff were very friendly.

Loved this restaurant! Cozy yet bright and airy. Beautiful greenery everywhere and light and inventive food. Exactly what we needed after a week of pasta and pizza. Service was excellent and the staff so charming.
Melissa J — Google review
After five days of relentless exploration through Positano's winding streets and sun-drenched terraces, Casa e Bottega emerged as exactly the mid-morning refuge our weary feet and hungry souls needed. This isn't just another tourist-trap café capitalizing on its location – it's a thoughtfully curated experience that understands what travelers truly crave. Our party each ventured in different culinary directions, and every choice proved inspired. The avocado toast with eggs elevated this ubiquitous brunch staple into something memorable – perfectly ripe avocado crowned with eggs cooked just right, each element singing in harmony. The omelet arrived fluffy and generous, a testament to kitchen fundamentals executed with care. But the revelation was the crispy filo pastry with feta, honey, pears, and walnuts. This dish alone is worth seeking out Casa e Bottega. The contrast of textures – shattering phyllo giving way to creamy feta, the sweetness of honey playing against the earthiness of walnuts, with pears providing a fresh counterpoint – created a symphony of Mediterranean flavors that lingered long after the last bite. What sets Casa e Bottega apart is the evident thought behind every detail. The food isn't just prepared; it's composed with intention. The space itself feels orchestrated for visual pleasure without trying too hard – a natural extension of Positano's effortless beauty rather than a forced Instagram backdrop. The hospitality deserves special mention. In a town where tourist fatigue can sometimes show through forced smiles, the team here offers genuine warmth without holding back. They seem to understand that sometimes the greatest luxury isn't white tablecloths and stiff service, but rather feeling welcomed into a space where you can pause, breathe, and savor both the moment and the meal. Casa e Bottega is that rare find – a place that manages to be both a respite from your travels and a highlight of them. Bravo indeed.

Highly recommended. Excellent food quality and service. Pizzas, pasta, and seafood were amazing. We went twice to this place. Very reasonable prices for Positano compared to restaurants close to the port area.

We enjoyed our final night in Positano at Ristorante C'Era Una Volta, conveniently located just a quick two-minute walk from our Airbnb. It was the perfect choice to cap off our stay. The restaurant offered lovely views, great pasta dishes, and a charmingly quaint, traditional atmosphere that felt authentically Italian. The service was bustling due to the busy evening, but the staff did a commendable job keeping up with all the occupied tables, staying attentive and friendly despite the rush. Overall, we had a delightful dinner experience here and would happily recommend this cozy restaurant to anyone looking for tasty food, good views, and a warm, traditional vibe in Positano. Thanks for a wonderful last evening!

Don’t miss this place! Our Airbnb was close by and we came here 3 different times. We couldn’t believe it wasn’t more crowded because the food was so much better than other places we visited in Positano (and more affordable). The Capricciosa pizza was so good we got it twice. The tiramisu with espresso was so light and tasty. The beautiful view was the icing on the cake. We hope to come back someday ❤️

Lovely restaurant above Positano. We arrived at around 8 on a Sunday evening, late in the season but we're made very welcome, and we're well looked after throughout the evening. We were both quite tired and fancied something straightforward so I opted for the steak and chips, while my wife had pizza. Both were absolutely spot on and the steak was cooked beautifully. Maybe it was the half carafe of wine but it was one of the best evenings out in Positano that week. Also... Given that the restaurant is up in Chiesa Nuova, the prices are very reasonable by comparison to down at the big beach. Definitely worth the walk up a couple of steps.

Our accommodation in Positano was very close to this restaurant that is how we stumbled across it - thank god! It was such a blessing, we dined here 3 times in 3 days and every meal was delicious! And the service was lovely ☺️ My partner was so happy with the food and vibe he insisted on coming here every day, I was super happy as they were kind enough to accommodate a fussy vegan I even bought my own cheese and borrowed a grater 🙏 I had homemade pasta with tomato sauce and mushrooms it was nice to have the option of soft homemade pasta that wasn’t made with animal products I highly recommend this restaurant Thank you so much to the wait staff and the kitchen staff we really appreciate your service 😋 yum!

Such a great value for the quality of food. Just as good as any meal you can have in lower Positano at half the prices. Maybe even better. See that steak? 20 euro. See that pizza? 3 euro. Both 10/10. Service is amazing and they make you feel at home.

This is one of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at on our Amalfi Coast trip. Family run, home cooked and you don’t walk out with bill shock ! My partner is strict vegan and they were beautifully accommodating and have pastas made without egg and they just basically cooked to order for her ! If you’re vegan or have a vegan partner you know how hard this can be. We ate here three times in three days and would have been more but they were closed for one of the days 🙂 Loved it 😀

Ristorante La Marinella is a cheerful and quick lunch spot located just steps away from the deckchairs at Marinella beach. It offers a nice view over Fornillo Beach and serves amazing homemade pastas, delicious seafood, and great wine. The restaurant is known for its large sandwiches and cool drinks, perfect for enjoying on the lovely premises with views of the beach and cliffs.
Take a left from the ferry port and up the stairs. About 5 minutes walk you will stumble upon this very private, clean beach club. We recommend siting at the smaller beach as it’s more private. For a chair and umbrella in the back row we paid €25 each. The bathrooms are included in this price. You can purchase snacks and drinks and they will serve you at your seat. It is absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny!

The perfect spot in Positano away from the crowds. A restaurant where you can truly relax to the sound of the waves while eating fresh seafood and delicious homemade pasta. We stumbled upon this restaurant as we chose the beach nearby for our beach day in Positano. The prices were ok for the regions we were in. The service was quick and friendly although we did have to return the gf pasta since they were regular pasta (my friend is a celiac). The food was great and tasty and this is where we tried meloncello for the first time which was an absolute delicacy. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Nice place on Fornillo beach. We just wanted something light to eat and drink so stopped by here. My partner and I grabbed some sandwiches and some cool drinks. Sandwiches were nice and quite large! The place itself is really lovely and allows for perfect views of the beach and the cliffs. I’m deducting one point, though, because they wouldn’t allow us to sit outside on the terrace even though it was empty. They said that space was reserved for diners ordering off the restaurant menu rather than from the bar. A little disappointing, but apart from that they were very friendly with us.

We stopped by tonight for a light supper. There was no decent wine by the glass so we ordered the house red, which was garbage but we drank it anyway. I ordered a grilled vegetable plate: not rocket science— it was terrible. They did not season the vegetables at all before cooking them. The bolognese was decent- not amazing. And they charged us for the vegetables which were mostly uneaten.

Il Fornillo was one of the highlights of our honeymoon in Positano. The ambience was stunning with gorgeous flowers, warm lighting, and sunset views right outside that made the evening feel magical. The service was exceptional. And the food? Even better. We loved everything we ordered from the ravioli, bolognese, and even the french fries were top quality (reminded me of McDonalds french fries but 10x better). Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. A must-visit if you're looking for an incredible dinner in Positano!

Skip Michellin restaurants, they are overrated, II Fornillo is the best restaurant. We tried others but we decided to come back here, the food is so good, authentic and every bite is just yummy. Carbonate, carpacio, mozzarella, everything is just the best! The owners are a nice family , grandmother, mother, sons and nephews. The owner Margarita is an adorable lady with a tru italian vibe, bossing people around but at the same time she offered us a great italian experience and hospitality. Her son Alessandro handles The Gasparina, where we stayed, this guy is going above and beyond to make tou feel comfortable. Nephew Lorenzo was an amazing server who made us feel special. I truly recommend this place for the food,it's amazing, for it's people and for an italian experience. It overlooks the cliff and it has a lot of flowers which makes it look like it's in the nature. Other places seems more tourists.

El Fornillo is a beautiful, low-key spot away from the main Positano crowds, and the food was genuinely excellent, fresh and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. It wasn’t rushed, but definitely inattentive. The busboys in particular seemed annoyed by our presence, which made us feel unwelcome despite being paying guests. Go for the food and peaceful setting, but don’t expect warm hospitality.

Collina Positano Bakery is a popular spot known for its delicious baked goods, gelato, wood-fired take-away pizza, and coffee. The bakery offers a variety of croissants with the pistachio croissant being highly recommended. Additionally, they have a full menu of food and pastries as well as creamy and rich gelato. The bakery is conveniently located near the bus stop, making it a great place to grab some treats while waiting for transportation.
Great value in gelato or pizza take out! We had a great hotel room with a view so stopped by this spot for take out a couple of times to bring food back to our patio. Seems like tons of people get their to-go pizza’s. Takes ~10min for them to make and they have great value. Approx 10-12 euros for a pizza versus other places that offer the same thing for 20 euros. Great value for your money. Pistachio and Dubai chocolate gelato was also great (approx 3 euros)! Only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the salmon poke bowls. Just smoked salmon over rice and a salad mix with balsamic vinaigrette. Not the typical Asian poke bowl (but it’s Italy so expected). Still 5/5 ⭐️

Nice bakery, price is okish, standard tourist price but not as high as other spots in the middle. We also experience good service despite of long queue.

The pastries are decent, not bad but nothing to wow about. Very expensive Positano prices, and on top of it, not welcoming service at all. Also very overcrowded with most people just trying to buy something to use the toilet.

Our hotel was nearby this bakery, and we ended up stopping in every single day, sometimes for pizza, sometimes for gelato, and often for a pastry treat. Everything was consistently delicious! What really stood out was how kind and attentive the staff were. My husband has a tree nut allergy, and they went out of their way to make sure everything he ordered was safe. Truly welcoming service paired with amazing food. Highly recommend if you want something quick!

They're dozens of these little shops in Positano, however this one was reasonably priced and had a very good DELIZIA AL LIMONE (SPONGE CAKE WITH LEMON CREAM). It was The perfect blend of lemon, sweet, and cream, not overpowering. The only downside is there's nowhere to sit down, you have to stand at the counter or go outside to eat. It is also a good choice if you're waiting on the bus to Praiano or Amalfi as it is right across the street.

We ordered a pizza to go on our way to catch the bus. The owner was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Napoleon pizza, expecting it to be salty due to the anchovies. However, it was so incredibly salty that we spat it out the moment we tasted it. Perhaps other pizzas are better, but this Napoleon pizza is definitely not edible. Be warned!

I booked Grottino Azzurro after reading several reviews and recommendations and was so glad I did, the food was super tasty and fresh and quite generous servings. The team were friendly and very attentive, we decided to hike up the stairs from Positano town and whilst it was a little challenging by the time we reached the top we got some great pics along the way and was grateful for the view! I would definitely recommend eating at Grottino Azzurro when visiting Positano and for sure get the ham and melon!

The dine-in experience was pleasant, we tried Sicilian pasta (which was good, but not a special dish one must try here). Their Ravioli Caprese was delicious, especially the cherry tomatoes that come with it added to the flavours. For appetizers, their wild sea bass fish tartara is something one should not miss, the fish was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The hosts were very kind. On the whole, it was a wonderful experience.

Ristorante Bruno is a charming family-run restaurant located in Positano, offering a delightful dining experience with its extensive menu featuring delicious seafood and pasta classics. The restaurant boasts indoor and outdoor sidewalk dining areas, providing breathtaking views of Positano and the Mediterranean. Situated along one of the main roads, Ristorante Bruno offers outside terraces where patrons can enjoy the scenic views while savoring authentic cuisine at moderate prices.
We initially booked tables for late in the evening but decided to come by earlier and they could accomodate a table for 6. The food was delicious with good portions. The seafood was fresh and tasty. A good place to enjoy the sunset as well. Highly recommend!

We had the pleasure of sitting outside, where the views were nothing short of spectacular — the terraced cliffs, colorful buildings, and sparkling sea created the perfect backdrop for an authentic Italian dinner. Before dinner, we enjoyed some classic aperitivi which paired perfectly with the sunset and the warm coastal breeze. The food was fresh and flavorful. We especially recommend trying the different pastas, which were cooked to perfection and full of regional flavor. Make reservations ahead of time.

The food is very ordinary and absolutely does not live up to the name ‘restaurant’, the prices are high for what you get. There were four adults and one child in our group, and we were told that we had to order a minimum of five main dishes — this approach felt very off-putting. While the view is nice, if you’re looking for really tasty dishes, it’s better to walk 5–7 minutes toward the parking areas, where there are many better options. I would not recommend this place.

Great dinner last night in a beautiful setting overlooking the lights of Positano. Lovely service from the staff. Zucchini petals, lamb ribs, and strawberry puff pastry all excellent! Even brought us lemoncello at the end of dinner. Highly recommend the whole experience!

Service was excellent and the food outstanding! Highly recommend the sea bass — or just trust Nino’s recommendations. He’s friendly, welcoming, and knows what’s best. We tried the lemon tiramisu for the first time and are so glad we did. Bene, Mamma Mia! And the view… absolutely the BEST sunset in Positano. È bella!

Good view. We were told 1 plate minimum. Later to find out it is one plate per person. We intended to have drinks and an appetizer prior to our dinner somewhere else. We were advised that we needed to order another plate of food prior to checking out. Shrimp appetizer was subpar, freezer burned shrimp with very off taste. Somewhat to be expected with shrimp that has not been deveined. Muscles and clams were delightful; however, small portion for the price. We ordered several drinks. 3 limoncello spritz, and 3 negroni. Every drink we had ordered were drastically different tasting than the ones ordered previously. This is not intended to rant. Do your research prior to coming to Positano, perhaps reserve restaurants ahead of time. Maybe even you can avoid this restaurant.

Truly a horrible experience. If it was any smarter, it would have directed a horror movie itself. Yes this is a medium steak that costs €28. It looked more like they just boiled it. The steak was super thin. The flavor was nowhere to be found. The dressing is just lazy. Each piece was a torture since they were super stiff and chewy. I had to remind myself that I was eating it so I can get somewhat enough calorie instead of enjoying the food itself. The staff even had the audacity to ask if everything was ok as if such a steak was a perfect creation.
Christmas A — Google review
Food was okay. The steak was not salted but the gnocchi was good however portions are very small and overpriced. Service was mediocre. View is amazing but there is a 3 euro cover just to eat there. Go to the beach, there’s some pretty restaurants with equally as good views. We had the the lemon chicken, gnocchi and steak.

Incredible views and food. However to have the experience you want you must ask 2-3 times as they will refuse you. I asked for a seat by the view they said no. I asked again they moved us. I ordered a bottle of Cabernet they brought a white, asked again said they were sold out asked the manager they had it. Asked for them to open umbrella for they said too dangerous then an Italian asked changed their mind. Like a sales training get what you want instead of what they want to give you and this is a 5. Passive types will not get anything they want. Amazing overall! Thank you for an amazing experience

Incredible spot! Especially for sunset. Came for dinner as a group of 4. We had great service and the food was excellent. Super attentive staff. Lots of lovely free things too, bread and little starter, mini deserts and brownies for the girls to take home. Price was not insane for the location, views and service. 10/10 recommend to everyone.

인종차별 겪었기 때문에 추천은 어렵네요. 음식은 맛있고, 뷰는 좋았으나 대체할 수 있는 레스토랑은 포지타노에 많은 듯 해요. The food and wine at this restaurant were excellent, and the view is absolutely stunning — truly Michelin-star worthy. However, my experience with the service was very disappointing. A young female server repeatedly ignored me when I said “Thank you,” and never responded once. A young male server never came to take our order, and it was only after the sommelier spoke to him that he finally came. Later, when I asked for the bill, it took more than 20 minutes to arrive, despite the cold weather, and I had to ask another server to finally get it. While the cuisine and atmosphere are good, the service I experienced was unacceptable. If you have colored skin, please consider it before you go as I think there’s racism as I’m Asian.

I visited in the summer of 2025🌞🇮🇹 The view was truly beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of the place. The service was also good, and the staff were attentive and polite. However, the food felt relatively expensive for the quality offered at the restaurant. The portions were quite small compared to the price, which was a bit disappointing. If you plan to visit, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. Overall, it’s worth seeing for the view, but keep your expectations moderate regarding the food.

What a place! The views were a solid 100 out of 10, absolutely breathtaking. The food was incredible, and the staff were both professional and kind. Everything was super clean. I’d recommend making a reservation beforehand, but wow… totally worth it!

Food was okay not perfect not bad. The view and the atmosphere is amazing, the best in positano! You pretty much pay for the view. Service was great. Prices are decent.

I liked the view so I walked down here around 12noon. I had my dog with me and asked if I can go in. They said sure no problem. They gave me a seat on the second row because first row with the beautiful ornate seats with the view are for reservation. I love the attitude of the staff the manager Chiro is so nice and hot and the server Bruno was very nice too. I asked if I can just take pics by the first row and they said sure no problem. Manager instructed someone to get my dog some water. They were nice and friendly to my dog. Other people also taking pics by the seats. Love everything about this restaurant. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the atmosphere, the views, the food. Worth it!

Ristorante Max Positano offers an elegant dining experience with a stylish space adorned with art, statuettes, and wine shelves. The restaurant's ambiance is akin to dining in the stately home of an aristocratic friend, featuring rich carpets and literary tomes. The menu boasts creative dishes like courgette flowers stuffed with ricotta and salmon, as well as a four-pasta taster dish.
Hidden gem! Max’s was recommended to me by a local shop keeper for their fresh food. My pictures don’t do the dishes justice! The gnocchi was perfect cooked and had an amazing lemon sauce. The staff were so attentive and let us have a relaxed Italian lunch.

We had a fantastic experience at Ristorante Max in Positano! After getting off a boat without dinner reservations, we stopped in right as they were opening and were so grateful they welcomed us in. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. The restaurant itself is beautiful — filled with local art that gives it such a unique and charming atmosphere. We started with buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes, followed by lemon fish, truffle pasta, and seafood pasta — all perfectly prepared and full of flavor. For dessert, we shared the local apple tart and crème brûlée, which were both excellent. Delicious food, warm service, and a beautiful setting — definitely worth a visit while in Positano!

We ate here on our first night in Positano and rather enjoyed it. We spent 12 nights in Positano and this was one of our preferred restaurants. The service and the food were both good. We had mozzarella with tomato appetizer which we loved. The fried calamari with zucchini was good although odd. The zucchini was thinly sliced, wrapped around the calamari and then fried together. For our entrees, we had the lasagna and the the spiny lobster with pasta. We enjoyed both very much.

This restaurant is not eye catching in terms of location as you need to go down a long staircase but the quality of food is really good!
RQ T — Google review
From the first night that we ate there, we were treated like dignitaries or better, like family. The service was excellent: attentive but not rushed. The food was exceptional. We returned , three times in total, during our 6 day stay. One night we had scallops as an appetizer, one night my wife had a fish with capers and olives that were prepared perfectly. I had a plate of mixed seafood that was so good, that I dipped the fresh bread into the buttery sauce. Another night we had the eggplant Parmesan as an appetizer, that was practically a meal by itself! My wife ate the mixed 4 pasta dish, and I had a shrimp and pasta dish. Etc etc, Each time we were greeted with a basket of homemade bread, which included simple and spicy breadsticks, anise roll, and olive roll, plain rolls, and bread. All of them home made. It was impossible to finish so we were sure to take them to our Airbnb, where we pressed them into Panini for breakfast the following day! We had the signature special apple torte as a dessert that was slightly smokey and good, but their their best dessert was the incredible homemade ice cream‘s and gelato which are not to be matched anywhere. The inside is absolutely beautiful but we chose to eat outside under their covered patio. Max’s was our “go to” dinner spot for predictably delightful evening.

Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, also known as the Church of Santa Maria, is a storied and stunning church located in Positano. The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and features a Byzantine icon of her adorning its interior walls. It was once part of a monastery and holds great cultural significance in Italian Catholicism. The church's elegant architecture, including a beautiful tiled dome, adds to the town's picturesque charm.
After making our way down through Positano, we took a break from the bustling crowds and stopped at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, a peaceful and serene spot just steps away from the beach. This 20-minute visit offered a welcome moment of tranquility, allowing us to take in the beauty of this historic landmark. The church is best known for its iconic majolica-tiled dome, which stands out in Positano’s skyline. Inside, the atmosphere is calm and reflective, with soft lighting highlighting the elegant architecture. The main attraction is the 13th-century Byzantine icon of the Black Madonna, which, according to local legend, was brought to Positano by Benedictine monks. The story goes that a group of sailors, carrying the icon, heard a divine voice commanding them to “posa, posa” (meaning “set me down”), leading them to bring the sacred image ashore—hence the name Positano. Spending some time here provided a perfect break from the heat and crowds, allowing us to soak in a bit of history and local culture. If you’re visiting Positano, this quick but meaningful stop is well worth it before continuing on to the beach or nearby cafés.

Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta in Positano is a truly enchanting destination that made my visit to this coastal town even more memorable. Situated in the heart of Positano, this church is a captivating blend of historical charm and spiritual significance. The intricate facade and well-preserved interior showcase a remarkable display of artistic craftsmanship, providing visitors with a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region.

La Zagara is a casual dining spot with a charming terrace covered in vines, offering typical pizza, pasta, pastries, and ice cream. It's an all-rounder where you can grab a quick bite or indulge in gelato while sipping on a Bellini. The main draw is the delightful pastries like the delizia al limone.
We stopped by La Zagara in Positano looking for something light, and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. We ordered the Focaccia Impegnativa, which came with eggplant and tomato sauce—it was absolutely delicious. Light yet full of flavor, it really hit the spot. Beyond the food, what really makes La Zagara special is its setting. The terrace is stunning, with a peaceful atmosphere and an amazing view that perfectly captures the charm of Positano. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a relaxing break, this place is well worth a visit.

I visited LA Zagara restaurant last summer in Positano, and I must say the view was absolutely fantastic! The restaurant is in a very touristy area, which is expected. We only ordered desserts and coffee, and it took quite a long time for them to arrive. However, when the desserts finally came, they were really good – definitely the highlight of our visit. Sadly, the worst part of the experience was the toilet. It was very dirty, which was quite disappointing considering the beautiful location. Overall, the desserts and the view were great, but the service and cleanliness could definitely be improved.
Nini N — Google review
There were a couple of mix ups in the drinks order, but the place was busy, so it was not a big deal. The food was pretty good (the pizza in particular), and the atmosphere was lively. Table 55 in the near left corner when you enter the restaurant has a good fan, ideal when it's hot!
Pro A — Google review
La Zagara’s terrace layers citrus and view: a pergola of lemon trees shading tables, with Positano’s pastel cascade beyond. Founded in the 1950s by Giacominio Russo, the grove still infuses the air with zagara blossom in spring. Inside, the counter gleams with monoporzione pastries - delizie al limone, babà, pistachio domes - rooted in Neapolitan tradition but styled for the coast. I chose a crostata al limone: citrus glaze, pistachio crumb, lemon gelée and blueberry. Beautiful to look at, less memorable in taste (6.5/10), but the setting elevates it - coffee and cake beneath blossom and sky, a ritual as much about place as pastry.

Had a nice nad relaxed breakfast here. Lots of seats on the terrace inside with a nice environment and a view of the sea. Can order from a variety of pastries, sweets, focaccia sandwiches and also the famous lemon sorbet in a lemon.

Despite some negative reviews (unsure why) my mum and I came here for dinner. The food was lovely and the servers were friendly. We only had a pasta to share and a few drinks but the prices are fair, especially for drinks, in comparison with other places around the area. The pasta was also amazing 👏

The Wine Shop Positano Vini e Panini is a charming delicatessen and minimarket located along the steps leading to the Duomo. It's a great spot to savor freshly made Italian sandwiches, known as panini, filled with typical ingredients like prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes, and pesto. Visitors can grab a sandwich to go and enjoy it on the beach or while admiring Positano's splendid views.
Very reasonably priced for Positano. Mozzarella and tomato decently sized focaccia for €6, with prosciutto is weight based and mine was €9. Delicious and fresh!! Highly recommend. Plus reasonably priced soft drinks and great wines in store too.

After trying the first sandwich here I think I had 4-5 more in the next 3 days during our stay! I even got one prior to leaving on the ferry because they were that darn good! It’s a great market that has everything to prep to start your day and the location is convenient for a quick stop in before catching a ferry. When I get back home from vacation I will be dreaming about No.1 sandwich pictured below!

A great shop. One of the staff members took his time to ask about the types of wine we liked and make recommendations. He gave us some history about the wines and helped us to make a decision. We really appreciated his help and expertise. We were so happy with the two wines we left with.

This place is amazing. My wife and I had lunch here to go before the beach two days in a row. The prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, basil, pesto, & balsamic panini is really amazing. The line can be a bit long but it moved faster than you think. Second day we had about 15 people in-front of us and it only took 10 minutes to order. Well worth the wait. Get a sandwich and a beer and find a good spot near the water. Love that it’s also family run!

Perched on the Amalfi cliffside, Le Sirenuse is a luxurious retreat in the heart of Positano. This 18th-century palazzo turned family-run hotel offers ornate hallways, sweeping balconies, and a unique red painted facade. The hotel exudes an old-world charm while providing modern amenities. With 58 rooms and suites featuring lemon-scented terraces and private balconies, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of Positano and the coastline.
Amazing Hotel. We stayed here in 2022 for our 10th wedding anniversary. I didn’t want to leave the hotel. The room was great, stylish and comfortable. Amazing views. Service is outstanding and comparable to other 5 starts hotels we have stayed. I loved the food, the pool and drinks. Hotel staff is very attentive and we’re always ready to help us coordinating activities. We rented a scooter to explore the coast, spent time in the pool and enjoyed the restaurant. Very recommended if you want to splurge. It’s a little bit overpriced.

Location, location, location. Amazing views of Positano and great service, that's why it costs so much to stay here. The food, the wine and everything else cost more than the other hotels but hey, it's a status symbol as well. The restaurant food was amazing, catch if the day was a home run. Reservations are definitely required. If you can afford it, try it. Live music by the two elder gentlemen who went from table to table was a nice touch as well.

Our recent 5-night stay at Le Sirenuse was nothing short of extraordinary—truly the best experience of our lives. We chose this iconic hotel to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff made us feel not just like guests, but like family. Every detail, from the immaculate rooms to the breathtaking views of Positano, reflected perfection. The dining experience was unforgettable—delicious cuisine paired with world-class service in one of the most romantic settings imaginable. What makes Le Sirenuse truly exceptional, though, is the level of care and hospitality. I honestly don’t think there’s better service anywhere in the world. They anticipated our every need, made us feel celebrated, and created memories we’ll cherish forever. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Le Sirenuse is the place. Simply magical.

One of our most unforgettable hotel stays. I initially booked a Classic Sea View room, which didn’t include the iconic Positano panorama of the sparkling sea and pastel houses cascading down the cliffside. When I asked the front desk if this was the case for all rooms in that category, the hotel manager graciously upgraded us to a Deluxe Sea View room. The room was beautifully appointed—elegant, spotless, and fitted with a luxurious all-marble bathroom. Each morning, we enjoyed breakfast on the pool terrace, taking in the same postcard-perfect view of Positano that dreams are made of. From start to finish, the staff treated us like royalty. Truly an exceptional experience we will never forget.

I absolutely loved every single aspect of my stay here. It is one of the best hotels I have ever been to in my life. However, the ONLY reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because the mattress was terribly stiff and uncomfortable. Every night a limb would go numb and my sleep scores were really very bad. I would do some research into the mattresses the Dorchester Collection uses for their hotels (the one at the Principe Savoi in Milan was fantastic). That is my only piece of feedback, thank you!

Nestled just above the stunning Marina Grande in Positano, Hotel Buca di Bacco is a charming retreat that beautifully blends history with modern luxury. Once a gathering spot for artists and intellectuals post-war, this venue has transformed into an inviting hotel and restaurant that captures the essence of the Amalfi Coast. Excellent service from the minute you walk in the door from Reception to the beautifully appointed rooms with breathtaking views of Positano, cleanliness of the rooms, amazing breakfast with an array of choices and wonderful staff in particular Catello that greeted us every morning with a smile and catered to our every need. We couldn’t have asked for anything more at this wonderful hotel. Thank you for our wonderful 4-day stay at your beautiful Hotel.

This hotel was our rest and recover spot exploring from Florence, to Rome, to Amalfi coast over a course of 2 weeks. We walked many miles a day before we got here and landed in the lap of luxury. We were greeted each morning by a loaded breakfast buffet and endless cappuccinos. Catello and Amadou made it a point to keep us happy and well cared for, despite the unfortunate rain we had during most of our stay. When you stay here, you are in the middle of Positano life; with endless shopping, iconic views, bus access to the Amalfi coast, and top shelf food and drink. This is not a budget visit, but I don’t think people visit the Amalfi coast for that. Instead, you are taking part in the luxury and life that the people of Positano have built over generations. Just go.

Buca di Bacco is our home away from home. My husband and I started coming with our daughter and her husband five years ago, and we look forward to our stay every year now. The hotel is so well run, but the staff are what make it really special. We think of Mario, Fernanda, Maria Chiara and Giovanni at the front desk as our family in Italy. They greet you warmly, help with making plans and always ask how your day was. The team at breakfast, especially Catello, are the warmest people, and chatting with them is the best start to the morning. The breakfast itself can't be beat. We already have next years trip planned, and can't wait to be back on the terrace with coffee and pastries planning our day.

Location is amazing , beautiful view. Everything is too close. Shoppings restaurants . When you look on the google map its shows right first line walking to the beach. Actually you have to walk down And when u arrive the taxi or whatever cant drive to there. Ao you have to walk down with your luggages about 1 km sharp, curvy turn sidewalks. Hotel will provide u “ mini shuttle” The guy will charge 20€ for each luggage. Cash! Recommended

Nice hotel situated right in the main area of Positano. Breakfast was good. Rooms are nice. The staff at the front desk could do better. No clear guidance on how to work with the porters or where to meet them or where to get picked up or dropped off. The lady behind the counter doesn’t even listen and was just talking over without clarity. Communication and customer service is key and this hotel has the right potential with training their staff.

I had a really great experience during my stay in Positano. If you like being in the mix of it all, than this location is the right place for you. Super convenient to get to the ferries and beach. Staff was wonderful and really made my stay enjoyable.

FABULOUS!!! This hotel was the best I’ve ever stayed in. We couldn’t have loved it more. The views from our room were the best we saw the whole trip! The location is PRIME! I wouldn’t have stayed anywhere else. The breakfast was amazing! The rooms had great AC and the shower pressure was great. The service was wonderful. Overall couldn’t recommend enough. If you are debating where to stay, stop here! This is the best of the best!!!

Disco club
Music On the Rocks is a renowned nightclub in Europe, nestled into a cliff overlooking the sea. With two floors designed for socializing or dancing to DJ sets, it perfectly complements its natural surroundings. Frequented by international VIPs, this beach-front club offers an unforgettable experience. Since 1972, it has been hosting top DJs and drawing dolled-up crowds. While prices may be high, the unique cave setting and stunning sea views make it a must-visit spot.
What a unique experience! Rave in a cave! Great sound and DJ’s. A bit of a younger crowd but good to experience!

I read the reviews before going here but my wife and I decided to check it out anyway. First, I will say the inside it cool looking but it’s not worth the weak drinks. I spent $50 on two margaritas and I never felt move sober in my life. Secondly, when they say this place discriminates, it’s true. We witnessed it first hand when we were leaving. The bouncer told this couple that they were closed but that’s not true at all since we just left. I forgot to mention that they tried to turn us away but the manager let us in only because we were at the Fly Bar earlier. Don’t listen to the owner replies that you need a card to enter because they didn’t even ask us if we had one. All in all, I would never go back to this place again, and I don’t mind spending money on drinks but I can’t support a place that treats people like that and makes weak drinks that’s a baby could handle.

The atmosphere was cool but the owner was very rude and couldn’t stop commenting on my sisters weight. The geography of the cave itself acted as a natural coolant. We were charged 35 euro a piece for drinks, you can tell this place has been struggling financially. Overall I had a good time.
Gabe P — Google review
Honestly had a great time. I did see after 12 they wouldn’t let many people in and there seemed to quite a few VIPs there so I think we just got in at the right time. They also seemed to be stopping big groups of guys without any girls with them. We had a great time give it a go.

Amazing architecture, climate! The crew was very professional, I felt safe with bodyguard who was watching everyone and helping us with solving problems. Only the music was not that good. Good old songs, especially bits were killed by some weird sound drumbs. It was hard to dance or even feel rhythm
Katarzyna P — Google review
They state that they are open “until the end of October”, but we walked down there only to find out they were closed. A simple post on Instagram or their website would have saved me (and likely others) the trip. While I enjoy a walk down the steps to the beach, I’ve done it enough and it’s not something I would choose to do at midnight for no reason.

Had the time of our lives at this bar in July. Just now giving review because I was reminiscing and looked at the website and was shocked by the overall low rating. Music was awesome. Drinks were good. The ambiance was so cool. People complaining about the prices - it’s a nightclub in one of the most amazing places on earth. We loved it and would definitely go back when we are back in that part of the world. We also dined upstairs prior and that was excellent as well.

La Scogliera Positano is a small beach situated on a rocky outcropping, offering a more exclusive and secluded vibe compared to other beaches in the area. The sun loungers are available for varying prices depending on the season and location. Visitors can enjoy clean facilities, including showers and toilets, along with delicious food and drinks. While the beach may not be ideal for swimming due to rough waves and large rocks, the stunning views and excellent service make it a worthwhile experience.
If you’re looking for a luxurious escape and pretty much a great bubble I’d highly recommend you book a bed at this beach club (trust me, you’ll get your money’s worth). Amazing staff, they work like they’re family, they are passionate about what they do and they have their customers’ needs at their utmost focus. The food is amazing. If you’re a lobster love, spoil yourself, you’ll thank me later. This for me was the highlight of my stay in Positano and would do it all over again.

We were told that a beach club in Positano was an absolute must, and the receptionist at our hotel (Hotel Villa Franca) recommended La Scogliera. While it came with a higher price tag, it was worth every penny. Our private cabana nook included a bottle of champagne or wine of our choice, a full lunch with both an appetizer and main course, and direct access to the private beach, pure paradise. Our servers, Genaro and Andrea, were truly outstanding. They anticipated our every need, ensuring our water glasses and champagne flutes were never empty and checking in often to make sure we were completely taken care of. Their service elevated the entire experience and made it unforgettable. If you’re visiting Positano, don’t miss the chance to spend a day at La Scogliera. It’s an indulgence you won’t

I visited Positano today and came across this very exclusive beach club. Having already eaten we just wanted a drink and to enjoy the view. It was very beautiful but we were pre warned a minimum cost of 25 euro per person. My single limoncello spriz was 25 euro, it was very strong, however delicious.

Absolutely incredible experience at La Scogliera in Positano! From the very first moment—even before arriving—I was met with warmth and professionalism. I had a special request during the booking process (I needed just one sunbed, which wasn’t possible through the website), and the team went above and beyond by creating a dedicated link just for me. That kind of attention to detail truly set the tone for the entire day. The staff welcomed me with such kindness and made sure I was comfortable throughout. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was stunning, and the whole experience exceeded my expectations. The location is absolutely breathtaking, with a magnificent view that makes everything feel even more special. Five stars—only because I can’t give more!

Beaches
Spiaggia di Positano Marina Grande, also known as Spiaggia Grande, is a popular pebble beach along the Amalfi coast. It's one of the largest beaches in Positano and offers both free and private areas. While it can get crowded, visitors can take a coastal walk to the more intimate Fornillo beach. The beach provides stunning views of the cliffside town and is a must-see when exploring the Amalfi coast.
The views from this public beach overlooking Positano's gorgeous bay is breathtaking and one of the best views in Amalfi Coast. We passed by during noon, and it was too busy. We came back around sunset and was much more quiet, so better to come around this time! It is very touristic of course, but so worth visiting.

We visited in Sept 2022. We didn’t spend a lot of time on the beach, but walked around in passing. There is a ferry station nearby where you can take one to go to Capris or other parts of the coast. The view is definitely great. It does require you to take some steps to get down to the beach. The beach was a bit busy with bars, tourists, and boat tourism. I’m not a big beach person, so I didn’t see the appeal of having a lot of vendors around but other people seem to enjoy it. I highly recommend renting out a small boat and relaxing out in the water because Positano is super crowded.
Charlotte B — Google review
Crazy busy port. Ferries and boat tours loading and offloading passengers. The town starts to swell around 9 and hits its peak mid-day, then the visitors start leaving in the late afternoon, all under controlled chaos. The ferries efficiently back in, load and depart on time. The tour boats have an area for them and they lineup waiting their turn on the water, all the while the sea waves are rolling in. I found this fascinating to watch. When you get on land, there are lots of clothing stores, jewelry, ceramics and various vendors. Oh and don't forget there are food shops and restaurants at your fingertips. Ciao and enjoy Positano!

Spiaggia di Positano Marina Grande is one of the most iconic and beautiful beaches on the Amalfi Coast. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by the stunning sight of colorful houses cascading down the hillside, meeting the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea. The combination of charming architecture, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant atmosphere makes it a truly unique destination. The beach itself is well maintained, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for rent. The water is clean and refreshing, perfect for a swim on a warm day. The view from the shore is just as incredible as the view from above you can watch boats coming and going, and the surrounding cliffs create a picturesque backdrop for your day at the beach. There are numerous restaurants and cafés right along the waterfront, offering delicious Italian cuisine and refreshing drinks. It’s a wonderful place to spend the afternoon, either relaxing under the sun or exploring the little streets nearby. While prices for food, drinks, and sunbeds can be higher compared to other areas, the beauty and charm of Marina Grande make it worth every penny. This beach captures the essence of Positano romantic, vibrant, and unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast.

Beautiful public beach area with many wonderful beach clubs, restaurants, and shops in the area. Nice place to walk around and also easy access to the ferries to bring you to other parts of the Amalfi Coast!

The views on this beach are absolutely beautiful. I wish I spent more time here. It’s a nice beach to relax with lots of spots to grab a treat or meal around it.
Vanessa B — Google review
*I am not rating the beach but the town itself* Positano is the most overrated, overpriced & overcrowded places i’ve ever visited. You walk on the streets and you ask yourself is this really worth it? To pay over 2000-3000€ for a hotel to be in a town where you have to spend a fortune just to put (average)food in your belly, you walk on the streets and you feel rushed because there are 1200 people behind you and 3100 in front of you, where you see the prices for a pasta and you think if the pasta is actually made of pearls and if the seafood is actually getting selected by you and the waiters are going to the sea and catch it for you, then why a simple magnet cost 5€ and a postcard 4€ when everywhere in the world is 2€ max? And not to mention the prices of €100+ for very simple items in different stores. I can’t understand the reason of Positano being so popular & expensive. Amalfi, Atrani, Maiori, Minori are much much better and although still comparatively expensive much cheaper than Positano. You can go for a one day visit (don’t plan more than 2-3h) but do not plan to stay there unless you just want to throw your money away because you have too much.

Alcione Residence

Bed & breakfast
Nestled on the east side of Positano, Alcione Residence offers airy accommodations with stunning sea views and terraces. The guesthouse provides complimentary Wi-Fi and is well-priced for its prime location. Guests praise the friendly hosts who offer insider suggestions on local attractions. The property features clean and comfortable rooms, some with renovated interiors and old-fashioned furniture that adds charm. Despite being situated on a busy road, the rooms are quiet when the balcony doors are closed.
We stayed for two nights, and this is a proper hotel with a reception—not an Airbnb. The location is excellent, with plenty of eateries and restaurants nearby. The room was spacious, featuring a large terrace with an incredible view. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The lady at the reception, Martina (if I remember correctly), was very friendly and welcoming. There are quite a few stairs in the hotel, but they thoughtfully arranged a porter to help carry our large luggage up to the room. Overall, it was a perfect stay.

You can have an absolutely sensational room with private balcony and 180 degree water views in the center of Positano for less than $400 per night - Amazing! We had a rough day getting in and it was a lifeline to have a hostess who was so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Thank you so much to all the staff at Alcione

We booked this place for our honeymoon and our 4 year anniversary, we have a beautiful terrace. We wanted to share breakfast on the terrace to really soak in the view, well, they told us they don't serve breakfast even though several reviews on Google and other forums and all of their website listings and the highlighted reviews on their website indicate that they do. Not sure if they're just saying this to us, nothing on their website indicates that they stopped serving breakfast during different times of the year or if this is a permanent change. Very, very disappointed, confused and would have rather stayed elsewhere. We are pretty reasonable guests. Other than the room having an impeccable view, there's nothing else making the stay here special for such a special occasion.
Laura M — Google review
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel was one of the most misleading and uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had. First, the hotel advertised air conditioning, but our room didn’t have any — and it was extremely hot and stuffy. When we asked about it, staff gave no real solution. They also listed breakfast options online, but there was no breakfast available at all, not even coffee or pastries. The listing also said “no dogs allowed,” yet we heard dogs barking constantly during our entire stay. To make things worse, our room had a serious ant infestation. We found ants all over the floor, in our luggage, and even on the bed. When we reported it, the staff did nothing to fix the problem. They claimed to have changed the sheets, but it was obvious they hadn’t — and after the ants got into our clothes, they told us it would be $40 to do laundry, which felt unreasonable given the situation. Overall, this place was unclean, poorly managed, and dishonest in its advertising. I would not recommend staying here to anyone until they make serious improvements.

I recently did a wedding photoshoot at Hotel Alcione’s terrace, and wow – it’s honestly one of the most beautiful spots in Positano. The view is just out of this world – pure magic. You get that postcard-perfect panorama of the coast, colorful houses, and the sea. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop and just breathe it all in. The location couldn’t be better – right in the heart of Positano, close to everything, but still feels calm and peaceful. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made everything even more special. What really touched me – they even surprised the couple with a sweet little tradition after the ceremony: they tossed rice over the newlyweds as they came out, just like in the old days. It was such a warm, joyful moment – simple, but full of meaning. You could really feel the love. If you're thinking about an elopement or just want to escape and run away to a little piece of paradise, this is 100% the place. Seriously – unforgettable.

Alcione residence is a perfect location in Positano and the service from staff is beyond excellent! The location is located on the street where most of the good restaurants are. The views from the rooms are incredible. When I needed help contacting a restaurant to pick us up, the staff took care of it. And anytime I needed help, the service was immediate. The walk to the beach here is not far so you don't have to do too many steps. Thank you Alcione!

Look this place was gorgeous-best view of the entire area like wow. Service was good and everyone was nice and helpful. We went in March the weather was in the 50's and the heat in the building was set at what felt like 85+ it was so hot and stifling we were not able to do anything about it. The room heat was off-we were told, but the building heat was on the floors were heated, and we felt way too uncomfortably hot in our room, luckily we had a private balcony and we were told by the staff to leave the doors open if it was too hot for us, which in theory sounds lovely and we had no choice but it was hard to sleep with the doors wide open hearing the ocean was lovely, but the noises below and not to mention worrying about bugs, pest or birds in the middle/morning of the night lol. I know it was a small sacrifice to pay for such a gorgeous stay but come on at the prices we paid you need to adjust the be able to adjust the thermostat and if the building needed heat then we should have been able to turn on the a/c in our suite. All in all place was a 5 star stay, but the heat made it way to uncomfortable to want to stay there again.

La Brezza is a charming spot located along the seafront at Positano's Spiaggia Grande, offering a more laid-back atmosphere compared to other sought-after places in the area. The restaurant serves generous Aperol spritzes and flavorful margaritas on its casual canopied balcony and lovely terrace with breathtaking views of the sea. Great service by the young lady when we visited. We had two drinks that come with snacks (salted peanuts or crisps) , both were good and the food was great. Ordered the zucchini dish and the octopus, for lunch it was probably small portions but cooked perfectly. Prices are high like everywhere else in Positano , so can't complain. Good views of the beach and people walking by.

1 star – Worst customer service I’ve experienced on the Amalfi Coast! I stopped by this place in Positano, planning to order something after using the restroom, but was met with incredibly rude behavior from an unprofessional staff member. Before even asking what I wanted, she yelled at me, demanding to know if I was going to order something, as if I didn’t belong there. She then pointed to the public bathroom in the most disrespectful manner. When I mentioned that I would be leaving a review, the manager came over—even ruder. She pretended to hand me a business card and then pulled it back from my hand in a mocking way, saying: “Oh, you’re going to write a review? Then come film inside,” almost threatening to hit me. I honestly felt unsafe. And I can’t help but wonder—if this is how they treat customers openly, what might they do when no one’s watching? Such a shame, because Positano is beautiful, but this kind of behavior tarnishes the entire experience. The place was dirty, poorly managed, and shockingly disrespectful. Avoid at all costs.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was too negative to stay quiet. I came with my boyfriend and friends, and from the second we sat down, the waitress girl who was clearly Argentinian treated us with disrespect. She rolled her eyes, rushed us while we were trying to decide, and when my friend asked her to wait, she made a rude comment in Spanish that was clearly meant to insult us. That kind of behavior is unacceptable. It made us feel unwelcome and singled out, and no customer should ever be treated that way. Management needs to take responsibility for who they hire and make sure staff understand how to treat all guests with basic respect. Until that happens, I strongly suggest people think twice before coming here.

Al Palazzo is a charming restaurant nestled within the elegant Hotel Palazzo Murat, offering a delightful experience reminiscent of a bygone era. The enchanting garden terrace, adorned with swaying palm trees, sets the stage for a romantic dining affair. The kitchen takes pride in crafting inventive regional dishes using fresh produce from their own meticulously tended garden. While lacking sea views, the restaurant compensates with its romantic ambiance and lush greenery.

This spot completely blew us away! Our best meal in Italy. Service was lovely, everyone is friendly and not overly stuffy, the wine recommendations were incredible and every bite was perfect - we’ve hit up a few Michelin spots on this trip and the food here was better! We did the scampi and tartare of the day appetizers, both amazing, the gnocchi special, and the lamb. We were beyond full but kept eating because everything tasted so immaculate. Thank you Al Palazzo for an amazing dining experience!

Food, service and atmosphere were simply perfect. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was SO good - beautifully presented, fresh, and insanely tasty. There is an impressive wine list to choose from too! The location feels special, like you are dining in a secret garden, surrounded by fruit trees and flowers. You must visit if you are in Positano! Don't be hasty and eat at the waters edge when you get off the ferry, find this beautiful hidden garden and be blown away by it!

Elegant Dining in a Garden Oasis – A Refined Amalfi Experience Al Palazzo is a true hidden gem in Positano tucked away in a peaceful garden setting that feels like a world of its own. The atmosphere is refined yet relaxed, making it the perfect spot for a special evening without the stuffiness. We started with the scampi, which were beautifully presented and delicately cooked—fresh, sweet, and full of flavor. The homemade gnocchi for the main course was light, pillowy, and paired with a perfectly balanced sauce. For dessert, the fresh lemon sorbet was the highlight: tangy, refreshing, and the perfect palate cleanser after a rich meal. What really elevated the experience were the thoughtful extras: a selection of artisanal breads to start, and complimentary chocolates with dessert that felt like a small but generous gesture. Service was smooth and attentive without being intrusive. It’s on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it for the quality, setting, and attention to detail. Al Palazzo delivers on every level—flavor, ambiance, and hospitality. Highly recommended for those seeking a refined yet warm dining experience in Positani.

We went to Al Palazzo on one of our last nights in Italy and we are so glad we did. The service was TOP notch, the food was top notch and the atmosphere amazing. They purposefully have less tables so it’s not busy feeling like all of the other restaurants. The staff were always right there and they were a lot of fun. They had two guys playing a guitars and they were so much fun. Definitely will go back if we have the chance.

It was my first dinner at Positano in a little mother-daughter trip, and Al Palazzo made everything super special. Service was great, food amazing, and I loved the little details that made the experience incredible. They sent some starters and deserts on the house, after asking where we are from (Brazil), they started playing Bossa Nova (Brazilian music genre), and made us feel very special. Definitely pricey, but worth it for a special occasion.
