Cathedral of Cefalù is a fortress-like Norman cathedral with Byzantine mosaics and twin towers. It's emblematic of Arab and Norman qualities, located in the historic center.
Worth the trip. Cefalu is a charming town. I had seen the church towers while at the beach. We made a second day trip from Palermo (45 minute train ride) to tour the Duomo and the town. This church is magnificent and a must see if you’re in the area. I wonder at the skills of ancient artisans who built this with primitive tools. Please do not miss visiting this wonderful church and spotless little gem of a town!

Well maintained and managed Duomo in the heart of Cefalú. Great views from the various levels. Different ticket prices for different access areas. We were lucky to witness the annual pastoral procession of The Virgin Mary and Christ on the Cross. Well signposted rooms, navigable without a guide. On the Duomo square with great restaurant options.
Cheryl T — Google review
The cathedral is at the top of town. It's free to wander around , they do check that you are covered before going in so wear something that covers your shoulders etc. You can pay extra (i think it was 10 euro 2025) to go to the top of the tower and see the tombs but we didn't so can't comment on this. It's got some lovely stained glass windows. it's also a lovely place to just take a minute and sit. Very peaceful.

place — both spiritually and architecturally. Standing at the heart of Cefalù, this stunning Norman cathedral immediately captures your attention with its grand façade and two imposing towers, framed by the scenic backdrop of the rocky La Rocca hill. Inside, the atmosphere is serene and awe-inspiring. The interior features beautiful mosaics dating back to the 12th century, including the famous image of Christ Pantocrator, which is breathtaking in its detail and golden glow. The craftsmanship is extraordinary and offers a glimpse into centuries of history and devotion. The surrounding square adds to the charm, with lovely cafés and a relaxed Mediterranean vibe. It’s the perfect spot to sit, admire the cathedral, and soak in the history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Whether you’re passionate about art and architecture or simply exploring Sicily, this cathedral is a must-visit. It’s not just a monument — it’s an unforgettable experience.

The Duomo of Cefalù is absolutely stunning! The interior is incredibly beautiful and picturesque. Don’t miss the chance to step outside and look from the stairs, the view over the old town is magical. A must-see when visiting Cefalù!
José S — Google review
No tickets needed. Interesting cathedral. Not sure what else to say about it..errr the roof is still on it? yeah that's a good point. Oh and it's in the square nears the bars!
Paul C — Google review
Very nice duomo, specially the piazza next to it, perfect for a coffee in the morning with your breakfast or a drink in the evening. There is even a Chinese restaurant if you are tired of Italian food, which I doubt. You can visit the interior of the cathedral and it is for free. It is a must in Cefalu
Ricardo V — Google review
The Cefalú cathedral is a very intricate church with distinct architecture. It was built in 1240 and it’s amazing how something so grand could have been built at that time. The ceiling was very high and there was some ornate artwork near the alter. So many tourists visit this grand cathedral because there is a lot to admire. There are certainly better one’s churches there, but this a great one to explore if you’re in Cefalù.

Bastione di Capo Marchiafava is a 16th-century fortification located on the northern tip of Cefalu, offering breathtaking views of the town and its coastline. Originally built to defend against pirate attacks, it has now become a significant historical landmark in Cefalu's Old Town. Visitors can enjoy the sea breeze and panoramic views of the northern coastline from this vantage point.
Great spot to bring food and drinks and watch the sunset!
Brianna M — Google review
A small polygonal bastion from the 17th century. Apart from a nice view of the sea, there is not much to see here. The bastion itself cannot be entered or visited. There is a small restaurant next to it, from whose outdoor seating you can have a wonderful view of the sea while eating.

A simple place that offers views of the ocean. It gets busy at times too.

This little piazza area offers seating and great views of the ocean and coastline. There was someone playing music when we visited. No shade, so come for the sun. It can get busy as it’s not that big.

Al Porticciolo is a charming seafront restaurant in Cefalu, offering a delightful dining experience with its wood-framed terrace right on the coast. The restaurant is known for serving Sicilian meat and fish plates, as well as creative pizzas including traditional options like capricciosa and margherita, along with unique combinations such as vastedda cheese, Nero dei Nebrodi Siciliano pork, lemon zest, rocket and olive oil.
Everything we ate was delicious. Watching the waves crash against the rocks was very pleasant, though I wish I hadn’t missed the sunset. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Food was fine, nothing special. Location is beautiful right on water. Go for the view and a drink but not if you are expecting the best seafood.
Melissa ( — Google review
Had a great meal here despite them forgetting to deliver my main meal. Lucky there was plenty left over from the rest of the families dishes as serving sizes were generous. Anyway, my main was promptly taken off the bill with many apologies from the lovely staff. Super view and atmosphere in this place and we will go back.
Mark M — Google review
The service didn’t feel very warm — perhaps due to cultural differences. Compared with the table next to us, our dining experience felt quite rushed. The waiter repeatedly asked if we wanted water, and after the food was served, no one cleared our plates even long after we had finished. That said, the view was excellent. If you’re here for the Cefalù sunset, this spot is definitely one of the best choices. As for the food, it wasn’t really to our taste: portions were small and the pasta sauce was overly salty.
YiMin W — Google review
Incredible location, Incredible food. "The best pizza I've ever had," says il mio amore. Can't argue with that! ...I had Oysters followed by fried squid and shrimp. Equally transcendental. Marvelous fare. Get yourself a table NOW.
JD Q — Google review
Have to say the staff were fantastic and attentive and watching the sunset from their outdoor seating was lovely! Their wines were also great along with the oysters. Food was as good as you’d expect when they’re serving that many tables.
Kerri B — Google review
Truly a let down in what should have been a beautiful evening. The food didn’t taste fresh, and the pizzas were also quite sad to look at and eat. I had such high hopes for this restaurant and was let down. We tried the oysters and prawn cocktail The oysters looked like the worst oysters they had to offer, and the prawn cocktail was pre made bag of lettuce, tiny prawns and a massive glob of sauce on top. For the pizzas, it looked like no effort was put in and thrown on the plate. I wanted to rave out this place but just cannot, so for that reason I do NOT recommend

Molo 19 is a restaurant located in the heart of Palermo, Sicily. It has a casual atmosphere and serves excellent food with huge portion sizes. The food is great, but the service can be inconsistent.
It’s a solid 4* in our opinion, but giving 5* to get their rating up. We liked the food, we got looked after and felt their rating wasn’t a fair reflection of our experience. We stopped because we have a baby and 7pm is her bedtime, so anyone who serves food at 4-6pm suits us better (not very Italian I know), but Molo19 had us covered at about 5pm… Bresaola, rocket and Parmesan starter with the salmon and carbonara pastas, fast service, decent portions and genuinely really tasty. Pasta was al dente, carbonara was authentic, and salmon was fresh! Epic view of the mountains and sea, a very buzzy corner of the main town, we threw a few drinks in and people watched. I reckon it goes off given a later time, it felt like that kinda place.

Great view looking out over the sea. Brioche with ice cream inside…. Amazing.

We wanted late afternoon crepes and were so happy they had them. I ordered the fruit one and it was the best I've had in my life! My daughter's also loved their Nutella crepes. The menu was large selection and lots of drinks although we just had mineral waters.

I had the best gelato in my entire life here. I recommend getting pistacchio, yogurt, frutti di bosco and lemon flavours. They are so refreshing. The waiter was so nice, when I asked for a big bottle of cold water he brought us it with glasses full of ice. Great service

Whilst staying in Cefalu I visited here numerous times for drinks/ food and drinks. Service was efficient and friendly. The food I had was very good. Great location.
David C — Google review
Beautiful location with nice views of the Cefalù beach. But the drinks were lackluster (Mojito) and fairly expensive for Sicily. We didn't have full dishes, only desserts (waffle, pancakes, tiramisu) but they were not great. Overall good for a beer with a nice view.
Julien ( — Google review
Nice location by the old harbour beach, good espresso and ice cream, comes with chips, peanuts and crackers on the house. Nice service, and pretty nice variety of food, drinks and desert. Delicious sandwiches. Among the only options open during lunch time (between 14:00 and 18:00), very nice of them. The only downsides are the filthy toilets, but given its location on the beach, I guess it's pretty difficult to keep up with the messy mass of people.

Porta Pescara, also known as Porta Marina, is a historic 12th-century gate that stands proudly in Cefalu, a charming coastal town steeped in history. Very pretty. Does get busy during the day. I passed by a couple times and it was hard to take a picture without anyone there. I watched the sunrise here and there was no one so I got really good pictures.

We had the pleasure of discovering this stunning little harbour — a true Sicilian gem. Nestled between charming stone buildings and a gently curving coastline, the old stone harbour, dotted with tetrapods lining the jetty, felt like something out of a postcard. The atmosphere was serene and timeless, with the warm Mediterranean sun casting golden light over the water. Just a 5-second walk from cosy cafés and welcoming restaurants, it’s the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and soak up the beauty of Sicily. My wife and I were lucky enough to spend time here together — an experience made even more special by the peaceful setting, local charm, and the sound of waves lapping gently against the rocks. Whether you're visiting for a quiet moment, a coffee with a view, or to explore the old harbour walls, this is a place you’ll remember. Truly fantastic.

Wonderful small cove beach at the fisherman's wharf in Cefalù. Most of the beach is held by an expensive lido, but a good amount is public and people share considerately. Plenty of shops and restaurants up on the streets make your visit more enjoyable!
Stephen R — Google review
The most stunning moment of the visit, highly recommend visiting here during dusk time.
Selene — Google review
It is a nice beach with a beautiful view. However if you go further down the beach I feel that the facilities are better. It is €35 minimum for two chairs and an umbrella. I was told there was a bathroom that you could use in the restaurant, but I was not told it was €1 charge. Further down the beach it is €30 minimum for two chairs & umbrella, there are male & female toilets that can be used for free and a shower. There is also food & drinks available to purchase.
Mary C — Google review
The beach is not only a fun place to enjoy the waves but also an excellent spot for photography. With the turquoise water, the wide stretch of sand, and the waves breaking along the shore, it creates the perfect backdrop for memorable pictures. From certain angles you can capture both the sea and the dramatic coastline, which makes it ideal for travelers who want beautiful holiday photos. At sunset, the light over the water is especially stunning and gives your shots a warm, golden glow. Even though the beach can get very crowded during the day, if you’re patient and look for the right perspective, you can still find amazing photo opportunities with a breathtaking sea view.

Nestled within the charming walls of the old town, Enoteca Le Petit Tonneau is a hidden gem that beckons wine lovers and food enthusiasts alike. This delightful wine bar features a cozy atmosphere with a small terrace that offers breathtaking views of the sea, making it an ideal spot for enjoying local cold cuts and cheeses paired with exquisite wines.
la dolce vita! these words are redefined when you are actually in italy, particularly in sicily. life really became sweet while i was exploring the narrow streets of Cefalù. starting with breakfast at piazza del duomo, a lazy afternoon at spiaggia kalura, and evening strolling around the beach side, i found new meaning to what italians call la vita. what really made the whole day feel magical was a dinner at le petit tonneau. if you think that what qualifies for ‘dolce vita’ is necessarily a ride on an expensive yacht, dinner at a michelin restaurant, or lavish shopping, you may not be wrong. but i think that italian ‘dolce vita’ proposes simplicity. simplicity in flavors, experiences and leisure. owners of this enoteca offer exactly that. they offer a simple menu, great variety of wine and a cozy table at their terrace. and let me tell you, that was quite enough to enjoy this sweet life to the fullest. the fish and bruschetta plate was so simple and beautiful. all the ingredients were authentic and delicious. their bruschettas, especially pistachio pesto one was to die for. smoked fish, arugula, lemon - that might not be a lot, but it is all you need for an immaculate dinner. pair it with white wine, suggested by the owners (i’m a big rookie in wines), and dive into la dolce vita, white the sun sets on the horizon. to get a seating at the terrace you need to book in advance for a one hour slot, which is a perfect amount, if you know how to really enjoy this italian life. during that hour i saw the sun set under the horizon and the sky change its colors so many times. simplicity of it all really allowed me to soak up the sweetness of life to the very last bit, until it was time to leave. i really want to just say ‘grazzie mille’ again to the beautiful owners of le petit tonneau. you guys are amazing and I do hope to be able to visit your beautiful place again and again!!!

Perfect for a glass of wine after a day on the beach or before dinner. Doesn’t look much at first, but when you walk through the bar and out on the terrace, there are three very special tables with views over the sea. So cozy and amazing ambiance.
Ane O — Google review
The place felt very dark and a bit untidy. When we arrived, no staff greeted us, the host was there but seemed busy scrolling on her phone at some random table. We asked for a table on the balcony and were told we’d need to wait an hour, so we left. We came back about 20 minutes later and managed to sit outside. The view from the balcony is beautiful, but the space is tiny, with only three tables. It felt cramped, especially with a group of four sitting right next to us. We ordered only drinks, as the place didn’t look very clean. Unfortunately, the Aperols were the worst we tried in Sicily. The host’s daughter was polite. Still, the overall experience was disappointing. It feels like the place relies only on its balcony view, without putting much effort into service or quality.
Nataliia S — Google review
The sea view is fantastic, but the staffs move so busy…. The place is very small, but I don’t know why they are so busy. I felt uncomfortable. If you could book a table with the best spot, it is worth it to go. Otherwise, there are so many amazing places in Cefalu!
Jiyoung K — Google review
The terrace with the sea view is amazing. You should do this once, during your stay in Cefalu. Just enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail and stay in that view for a longer as you can. It is very focused on tourism so in high season is very busy
Ricardo V — Google review
Honestly, it’s a TikTok trap. You can book one of the three outside tables for one hour (!) and yes, the view is great but the food and drinks are mediocre at best. There is a spending minimum of 15€ a person to even be there in the one hour time limit. The drinks are reasonable priced but the food is way too expensive and the quality is bad.
Jamy — Google review
We had a tasty platter of appetizers here, and I also tried two glasses of wine – everything was perfectly fine. Maybe nothing groundbreaking, but the view from the balcony more than made up for any minor shortcomings. A pleasant and relaxing spot overall.

The pizza restaurant Ristorante Via Roma Vecchia is a great place to enjoy delicious pizzas and pastas in a charming setting facing the old town of Cefalu. The food is of excellent quality, with fresh ingredients and professional service, making it a perfect choice for anyone looking for a night out. Special mention should be made of the excellent local wines which can be enjoyed on their terrace overlooking the sea.
Great service and prime location due to their terrace overlooking the sea. It was quite windy but since the terrace was covered, it was very pleasant. The waiters were very attentive and friendly, giving good recommendations. The food was locally-sourced - we ordered the fish of the day and the seafood risotto which were delicious.

This restaurant is an excellent place to have dinner overlooking the sea. The waves crash against the rocks just outside the restaurant and it is truly beautiful. The menu is decent, though doesn't have many vegetarian options. There is a lot of pizza to choose from. We had a lovely tomato pasta - it was really fresh and tasted great. Service was OK but not outstanding-- menus took a while to come to us and we were delivered one meal when we ordered two. We were here for a long time and really enjoyed relaxing by the sea. Definitely recommend for your evening meal.

AVOID....Worst meal in Cefalu. Please avoid. This calzone lacked flavor in every phase. I thought it impossible to have sauce, sweet salami, cheese and dough be tasteless but it was. Plenty of better choices even if you want this view either place on both sides are 10 times better. For thr record this is our 9th differnent stop in Cefalu from pizza to pasta and this was absolutely bottom of the barrel. And they like to untag themselves on Facebook so its an absolute avoid at all costs. Ohh did I mention they also are more expensive than anyone. Cant make it up.

the highlight was the panoramic ocean view. this is the best view i’ve ever had while eating my lunch. the food was good and for €7 nicely priced. the cheese bread was kind of oily. it is still good value because an ocean view restaurant in america usually means fine dining ($100+ per plate).

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming restaurant Via Roma Vecchia and I cannot speak highly enough of my experience. From the moment we arrived, Federico, the owner, warmly welcomed us and made us feel right at home. The attentive service provided by the waitstaff, Andrea and Eliseo, was nothing short of exceptional. Now, let's talk about the food. It was an absolute masterpiece. The dishes showcased a remarkable combination of freshness, quality, and generous portions. Every bite was a burst of flavor that delighted the taste buds and left a lasting impression. In fact, one of my friends was so moved by the moment we shared and the sheer excellence of the cuisine that he couldn't help but become emotional. The cozy atmosphere, combined with the rustic Italian decor, created a welcoming and intimate setting for an unforgettable meal. It was evident that the staff took great pride in creating a dining environment that was both inviting and memorable. In conclusion, my visit to this restaurant was a truly remarkable dining experience. From the warm hospitality of Federico to the impeccable service provided by Andrea and Eliseo, every aspect of the evening was exceptional.

The non alcoholic aperol spritz was very delicious as well. 10/10 ⭐️

We had a very special dinner here for my girlfriend’s birthday, and it was everything we could have wished for… and more! We booked the private terrace, which is very special and romantic. You have to walk through the courtyard where all the other tables are located, which to be fair had a really fun and vibrant atmosphere. We wanted something special and private so opted for the terrace. The terrace is secluded, overlooking the sea. We had the perfect evening, with the blood morning rising up out of the sea in the background. We both had the margarita pizza and it was INCREDIBLE! The best we had in Sicily! Also, the wine that was recommended to us was also incredible. We loved this place and would definitely return!

We had the chance to seat at the terrace facing the ocean. It was just us so it felt like a private dining experience. The food was so great we’re still thinking about it. The bruschetta with those datterini tomatoes was soooo good. And the pistacchio pizza was out of this world! Wow. Would love to come again.

Stumbled across this one night and managed to get in without a reservation after 9pm. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was so fresh and tasty, as was the local wine. We had shared the fried fresh fish to start and I had the fish of the day. My girlfriend is coeliac and had one of the best GF pizzas she’s ever had. The outdoor seating in the terrace had a great atmosphere too. Do try if you’re in Cefalù

What a lovely experience!! Everything was homemade, super fresh and with mainly biological ingredients. Even the bread on side was served fresh from the oven and cut on the table. Delicious!! We had the beef tartare and bruschetta as a starter and pizza truffle bianco & pasta gambaretti as main. Besides the food also the service was very kind and on point. This restaurant is also plastic free, which we loved.

This was our last meal in Italy and we were really excited. You definitely have to book ahead as many people were turned away. I wasn’t blown away by the food, though my partner liked his pizza. My pasta was average and far too salty and I do not recommend. The tasting olive oil isn’t worth it, so I would skip that. Overall the food was nothing special, but the outdoor seating was lovely and we enjoyed sitting outside away from the restaurant as the sun went down.

This was the highlight food wise during our stay in Cefalu. Amazing, top quality food, great service and atmosphere. Appreciated that everything felt properly clean, everyone was super attentive. We had fish and pasta - alla amazing. Seeing the pizza on other tables - that looked great too.

This place deserves higher rating! Pizzas are out of this world here. You can choose your own dough and so many flavors. Also they have a wide variety in their menu. Great if you with a group or someone else you both can find something good. Really recommend.

Nestled in the charming old town of Cefalù, Antica Focacceria Sapori Siciliani is a delightful gem that captures the essence of traditional Sicilian street food. This cozy spot offers an array of mouthwatering options, including their renowned arancini—crispy rice balls filled with ham and mozzarella that are simply irresistible. The focaccia here is a must-try, especially the rosemary version which has garnered rave reviews for its freshness and homemade quality.
This small family focacceria was our favourite place for lunch in Cefalu. They have the best Foccacia with rosemary I ever had. Make sure you come early othervise is sold out. We visited a few times because everything was fresh, home made and tasty. I love the place like this one, with real sicilian atmosphere, no-commercial, family running. Definitely reccommend.

Very local, very original and so friendly. The food is amazing at good price. We are so glad to have found this place while we were wandering in Cefalù and it really is the best decision ever. The sficione with ricotta cheese is so good we just wanted to eat more and even forgot to take photos of the food. Nicely paired with a bottle of beer. Highly reccommend!

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Spiaggia di Cefalù, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to FoodSicily Market Cefalù. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Spiaggia di Cefalù is a stunning beach that perfectly captures the essence of Sicilian charm. Nestled at the edge of a traditional village, this picturesque spot offers both relaxation and adventure. Visitors can enjoy kayaking and swimming in its crystal-clear waters, with comfortable loungers available for rent to soak up the sun.
The water is clean, clear, and perfect for swimming and very refreshing. The beach can get quite crowded, especially in high season, but the atmosphere is still amazing. Everything was well maintained and tidy. What I also liked is that there’s convenient parking right by the beach for a small fee, which makes the visit very easy. Overall, a beautiful place to relax and swim. Definitely worth it if you are in Sicily!
Freeman — Google review
Beautiful beach with clear water, very shallow and scenic view of Cefalù town. We went on weekend which was pretty crowded because the locals. However on weekdays it was a little bit cheaper and less busy. Plenty of free space with soft sand.
Emina A — Google review
A very nice beach, with a small public area. Most of the beach is private and sunbeds cost around €15–20. It gets very crowded. The water is clean and warm. Showers cost extra, but there’s a small free one on the public side. Overall, I recommend it.
Krystian J — Google review
This place has an amazing vibe; you feel like you’ve stepped back into ancient times. We paid €20 per person for a sunbed and an umbrella, but it was worth it for the experience. Don’t expect too much from the sea though — it was dirty, murky, and wavy. But the atmosphere was absolutely perfect.
Seren U — Google review
the beach is beautiful, overpopulated, but that is normal. you can at least still find free beach area, not like in San vito lo capo. They even have a free shower on the ebach (thing that is on its way to extinction). it is a very open, in full sun beach. i was there on a clody day and i was ok, but on a regular day, make sure you get an ombrella as you do not really have shade spaces.
Mali L — Google review
Cefalù’s beach is pure harmony. From the golden sand, you see everything that makes this place unforgettable — the majestic rock rising behind the town, the charming cathedral with its twin towers, and the pastel-colored houses right by the water. The combination of nature and history feels perfectly balanced. The sea is crystal clear, the vibe is relaxed yet lively, and every view looks like a postcard. A place where you can feel both the soul of Sicily and the calm of the Mediterranean in one breath. 4 stars because there are too many people (there is VERY little space) and there are constantly merchants and trying to sell you something, distracting from your vacation.
Андрей Т — Google review
The best beach near Palermo. We visited in April, but it still had the “summer beach vibe”. Most facilities were under reconstruction when we visited but there were still plenty of changing places and sweetwater showers available

Nestled just a short stroll from the historic heart of town, Pasta e Pasti is a hidden gem that truly embodies the essence of Italian cuisine. This unpretentious eatery may not catch your eye at first glance, but its bustling courtyard and lively atmosphere hint at the culinary delights within. Open for lunch every day except Monday, it serves up freshly made pasta that captures regional flavors beautifully.
WORTH THE WAIT. Excellent fresh pasta with a variety of preparations and sauces that you can customize all made to order, All delicious perfectly seasoned perfectly prepared. The octopus salad was delicious fresh and perfect texture. Only open for lunch but late, expect to wait 20 minutes definitely worth the wait as you will not eat better pasta anywhere in Cefalu. Each dish is prepared, lovingly and carefully.

We loved this restaurant so much that in a 10 day stay we returned there 4 times! Everything we tried was delicious. The prices are fairly reasonable for the quality of the dishes. When being served, you are given a pot of shredded cheese that you can choose (or not) to add on top of your dish - which is great if you are vegan or lactose intolerant. Highly recommended!
Jonathan B — Google review
Cheap, busy, and absolutely delicious — a true local spot that’s worth the wait. The atmosphere is lively and unpretentious, filled with locals and regulars who clearly know where to eat. The carbonara was easily the best I’ve ever had — creamy, perfectly balanced, and rich without being heavy. The seafood salad was fresh and full of flavour, with tender octopus and perfectly cooked mussels. If you’re looking for authentic, home-style Sicilian food at unbeatable prices, this is the place.

What a hidden gem! This is by far the best pasta I have had in Cefalu! Cozy and delicious, staff friendly and extremely well priced. We wanted to try everything on the menu as it all looked so good! ** We came back the following day and it was just as incredible!!**

The authentic taste of Sicily I searched Cefalù for! The food was incredible, big portions, we shared 2 plates, the local pesto dish and stuffed pork with potatoes, and a litre of local wine and it was €34! Lovely staff and excellent service. Be prepared to queue, but 100% worth it if you want the real Sicily, and choose taste over a fancy location!

Absolutely great local place — though it’s no longer a secret among tourists! All the pasta dishes we tried were excellent, and a special mention goes to the melanzane involtini (aubergine rolls), which were fantastic!

Lavatoio Medievale Fiume Cefalino in Cefalù (PA) is a restored public laundry house dating back to 1514, featuring original stone wash basins and cast-iron spouts. Located in the heart of the old city, this medieval laundry was a gathering place for women to wash and rinse clothing, and possibly even bathe in large basins arranged in a stepped sequence.
A fantastic little place. Whether you're looking for a moment of quiet reflection or simply want to enjoy a break from the heat, this hidden retreat is a must-visit. If you’re ever in the area during the hotter months, definitely make a trip down here. You won't be disappointed!
Imola D — Google review
An unexpected gem in Cefalu. It’s a laundry area but really cool. It’s preserved really well and it’s cool too see the water exit back out to the ocean. It can get busy in the afternoon which is the only negative.
Eric T — Google review
Awesome place. It's free. Walk in and take a look at this amazing little oasis. It is a nice break from the heat too. You will only need 5 mins but it's very cool in every sense of the word. You can also go around to the beach on the other side and see through back into the laundry where the water exits to the sea.
Carmelo D — Google review
The medieval wash house is well preserved and gives you a glimpse into the town’s history. Entrance is free, so it’s definitely worth stopping by while exploring the old town. A quick but interesting cultural experience.
Freeman — Google review
It was almost 95 degrees. We entered down into this ancient wash house and the temperature dropped 10 degrees. It’s incredible how these ancient wash basins were carved out of solid stone. A constant stream of cold water runs through and it’s so unexpected in a busy little town. No charge for this. Go and you will be pleasantly surprised!
Ann S — Google review
Very interesting medieval system that still works today. They managed to make a perfect system for the water to flow around and fill the different “boxes” while having new water each second, spectacular! There is no entrance fee, the place is open to the public.
Kristina V — Google review
Magnificent old town on the coastline. Duomo (check opening times) with narrow alleyway streets, great restaurants and shops and wonderful sandy beaches with safe swimming. In New town cars from outside may drive. Old Town only pedestrian traffic for non locals- ZTL area. A must visit
Cheryl T — Google review
Cefalus oldest launderette. The old washhouse for the town from the medieval period. The entrance os about 100 metres on the left from the beach into the first street into the old town. The water comes from a spring and and then the water gets segmented in square stone sections where people used to wash ther clothes etc in each one. In the summer the water is lovely and cool in after the hot sun. The water legend has it comes form the tears of a mourning nymph The stone plaque at the entrance says" Here flows Cefalino, healthier than any other river, purer than silver, colder than snow.

FoodSicily Market is a charming market located right behind the beach, offering an array of Italian delicacies and local products. Visitors can indulge in delicious paninis, with options like the Bastione and Testardita, as well as shop for fresh pasta to take home. The market also provides a selection of beverages, vegetables, and local wines. Additionally, it's convenient for beachgoers looking to grab cold beverages or a quick bite to eat.
Amazingly fresh Panini . All slices cut fresh before being put on a crispy bun. I was very satisfied. Thank You. and... funny thing... I found that it doesn't make sense to prepare panini myself, which I tried to do well the day before. It didn't work out for me either cheaper or better. However, I recommend it to the specialists from this bar.

Fantastic store where you can get all your needs. The best part would be the great variety of fresh meats and cheeses, antipasto delights and last but not least, the panini deliziosi! There are so many choices that return visits will happen! Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. Our B and B is just up the street, so we are very frequent and contented customers!

I stopped in here and grabbed a sandwich and a few items from the deli. Everything was delicious. Prices do seem a bit high, but quality seems to be equally high.

Decent market with local products but not only. I found interesting the selection of local wines. You can also buy here fresh bread and sandwiches made on the spot. The place is located near the beach so it's very convenient if you want to buy a cold beverage, water, or something to eat. 4 stars.

If you are on the beach, that is closest market, it is not big, but has enough to chose. The man on the cash register is helpful, once i got lost, he helped me out. Shop does not sells cigarettes, but if you need them, the stand is up the street about 20m, if you are very foreighner, ask the man for social security card, which you may need to purchase from the stand....

Il Covo Del Pirata is a beautiful Italian restaurant with stunning views of the ocean. The food is excellent, and service is friendly and efficient. The restaurant has a romantic balcony overlooking the sea, making it perfect for a romantic dinner.
We had the best night here. So lucky to get a table looking out to sea. The food is delicious and it was so lovely just to sit and eat taking in the sea vibes. Listening to the waves (it was stormy)🤣. We had a had a good laugh with the staff as my partner was trying to speak Italian and called the fish a peach 🍑 by mistake. LOL. Even though this restaurant is on the main tourist path it felt like a special place. Happy days
LJ — Google review
The terrace and the atmosphere is simply out of this world, beautiful scenery. However there is still room for improvement when it comes to food, as the fried seafood platter was almost inedible, visibly not fresh enough and tasteless. The two pasta dishes we had were just decent, although the fish, to my surprise, wasn’t as fresh as I expected. Decent wine. To conclude, despite the very below-average food, it’s still worth a visit if you get the chance to sit on the balcony by the sea, the view and scenery are beautiful
Francesco C — Google review
Our experience was wonderful. We found this place by accident and were warmly welcomed by the staff, who gave us the best table overlooking the sea. We tried both the meat and seafood menus, and also ordered a fish salad and dessert. Altogether, the four of us enjoyed a variety of delicious dishes. The sunset was absolutely beautiful.
Inna A — Google review
Yes for wine - Mediocre for food. The view in this place is outstanding, as well as the interior decoration! Loved it as we showed the balcony from the seaside and that’s why we decided to dine there. However the food was really average and the fish not fresh as you would expect… There is room for improvement on the kitchen side.
Despoina P — Google review
The atmosphere was wonderful, especially if you’re lucky enough to get a seat by the water—it’s truly beautiful. The menu itself wasn’t particularly impressive, but the calamari I ordered was good. My husband had the rigatoni bolognese, which was also good, though not the best we’ve had.

L’Angolo delle Dolcezze is a renowned pastry and gelato shop on the island, offering some of the finest ice cream and desserts. Their Sicilian gelato is highly acclaimed, drawing long queues during summer for their artisanal fruit- and cream-based ices made from top-quality seasonal ingredients. The establishment also boasts a wide array of traditional Sicilian treats crafted from local produce, making it an ideal choice for events like weddings.
Cakes are better than ice creams. Pleasant to both the palate and the eye. The price of these, chosen around 15 eu (about 10 small cakes) The service knows English and they are pleasant.

An amazing stop at Cefalu. We decided to have breakfast at L'angolo dele Dolcezze so we tried one pastry, one arancine, Coffee, sweets and gelato in the brioche. They tasted all great. The atmosphere is great and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our suprise was a €12,50 bill. We even enquired if it was correct because we were expecting more considering the amount we ate, but it was indeed correct. I'd definitely return and I can highly recommend.

We were told that these guys had the best gelato in town. Well I don’t know if that it’s true because I didn’t try them all, but one thing is for sure: they have an amazing gelato. We tried their pistachio and baccio ice cream, as well as their cannoli with pistachio. I mean… simply spectacular. You have to come here.

Friendly staff. I tried the mini canola (extremely good), the mini cassata (too much almond paste for this small size but still good to have this small format to be able to try out all of these amazing pastries), the milk chocolate ice cream (delicious), the pistachio ice cream (also delicious) and the ice cream which mixes pistachio hazelnut and chocolate (also delicious)

Delicious gelato in Cefalu! Outside the busy city center, easier to find a place to park. The gelato is rich and absolutely tasty! Pistachio and chocolate have been my favorite. Have been there twice and would go again!

The pastry is georgeous, feels fresh and seems like it's made in-house! The best pastry we've had so far in Sicily (in comparison to Ortigia and Taormina). The place works as a self-service is worth noting, so please help the staff and bring your dishes in after you're finished, otherwise, even pigeons love the pastry (see photo) 😅

Lido Poseidon is a beach destination that offers rental beach chairs, a full bar, and a menu for ordering drinks and food. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful sandy beach with stunning views of Cefalu. The food is reasonably priced, especially at the beach bar, and the staff are friendly and helpful despite being busy. However, some employees may have limited English-speaking abilities.
I see many complaints about the food, but really, that pistachio shrimp pasta was amazing. Prices for food are average. To rent a spot for 2 persons, on the 3rd row was $35, a bit excessive but sort of expected for the area as it was packed in the middle of July. No showers, just toilets.
Ingrid D — Google review
The food is fine, considering where it is on the beach, but the restaurants opposite are night and day better. Ordered one fish and one pasta, the pasta came straight away and was finished before they had even brought out my fish side salad (which was literally just diced lettuce, even with dressing it tasted bad so I think it was old). Pasta was fine, uninspired, the fish came out well grilled but was not enough to save the meal. Overall just a typical bang average over priced tourist spot with bad time management. Would recommend for drinks. Views are great.
Alex G — Google review
Great place to have drinks on the sand of an evening. Listening to the waves with your feet in the sand having a cold beverage is magic. Love it! Went three days in a row.
Mark M — Google review
Great spot to relax. A bit on the pricey side. My frustration was mainly with how unorganised and inconvenient it is to get food and drinks. I have to line up in 3 different lines to get my food which was all from the same place. Made no sense. Apart from the food, I was pleased.
George Y — Google review
Worst lido I've been to so far. Plenty of staff around, but most just stand or sit in the way, making it harder for customers to move around. Charging €0.20 for cold showers after already paying a high price for sunbeds is just absurd.
Tapio P — Google review
We went there in the middle of september for the beach and it was really nice and comfortable and the water was perfect. But the sunbeds were pretty expensive (30€ for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella in the back rows). For this price, you still have to pay for the shower (0.2€ cold shower and 0.5€ hot shower) and to wait at the queue for some drinks. Overall it was a nice experience but more expensive than it should be for the services they offer.
Diana S — Google review
Well located, nice and comfortable beds with umbrella. Great beach, service is so, so. Can improve front of house, more smiles and tone down the aloofness. All said and done, had a great day and able to snooze too.
Michael S — Google review
Very busy, very packed, no privacy ... but that's nothing special at italian beaches. Sunbeds for 15€ at the entrance. You will receive a wristband, and tbh there is a guy who checks visitors on the beach to find people who avoid paying. Changing rooms, toilets , and bar with food. The shower for 20 cents is a little bit absurd. You need to have your towel with you or buy one from the guys at the promenade or from beach boys who will disturb you all the time.

Cortile Pepe, located near the Cathedral of Cefalu, is a renowned restaurant led by Chef Gioacchino Gaglio. With experience from Michelin-starred establishments, Chef Gaglio showcases his expertise by curating regional Sicilian dishes using fresh and sustainable ingredients sourced from local farms. The restaurant offers predominantly Mediterranean cuisine that skillfully balances flavors of the sea and land with seasonal offerings. Its modern interior and charming outdoor garden provide a delightful dining atmosphere.
I’ve never had an experience like this in my whole life… for sure will come back just to Cefalù to repeat it. Dishes are amazing… have four chefs and an open kitchen, super clean, super fast, the most extravagant wines, grappas, distillery from another planet! It’s a must if you come to Sicily. Owners are very friendly waiters are very kind and gently, located right in the center in front of a church and very close to the main Square. I’m thinking about just getting a flight to come over here for the weekend once in a while . The cost…. I think it’s very cheap because this is better than a Michelin star restaurant.!! Trust me!

I came at this restaurant last night with my husband, we didn’t have a reservation but the lady that greeted us found a table instantly for us and was very lovely. We shared a few dishes. Food was tasty, overpriced but I guess you gotta pay the for the good looking dishes and the Michelin star. Overall a nice quiet place with tasty food.

The staff explained the meals well in English for us, it was a really enjoyable evening. We accidentally booked a nearby restaurant instead, when we realised our mistake they very kindly allowed us to dine with them that evening although they were full which may have impacted their service time.

Cortile Pepe was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Sicily. We went for my sister-in-law‘s birthday, and we all chose the tasting menu (including the vegetarian option), and everything was delicious! The cocktails were also wonderful and the wine pairings were great selections. The service was PERFECT: friendly, very informative, and unobtrusive. It was truly an unforgettable and magical dining experience.

We visited Cortile Pepe in the historic center of Cefalù, expecting a high-end gastronomic experience in line with its fine dining branding. The courtyard ambiance was lovely, with a calm, pleasant sound level and a comfortable outdoor setting that initially put us at ease. Service staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. However, at the end, the manager’s persistent thanks felt overly insistent, almost as if pushing for glowing reviews. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the expectations implied by the pricing. Some dishes tasted overwhelmingly of salt, others lacked any distinct flavor. Presentation was inconsistent, some courses looked appealing, others came off as uninspired. One bright spot was dessert, which was enjoyable and well executed. But the contrast with the preceding courses only highlighted the shortcomings. Given the premium price level, the balance of what was delivered fell short. We cannot recommend Cortile Pepe based on our experience and feel that skipping it would spare disappointment.

My recent dinner at Cortile Pepe was an enchanting experience that left me eager to return. Nestled in the heart of Cefalù, this restaurant immediately captivated me with its stunning venue. The highlight is undoubtedly the beautiful terrace tucked inside the building – a hidden gem that creates an incredibly intimate and romantic atmosphere. The architectural charm combined with thoughtful lighting made for a truly magical dining setting. The staff’s warmth and professionalism elevated the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, every team member demonstrated genuine hospitality and attention to detail. Their knowledge of the menu and wine pairings was notable, making us feel genuinely welcomed and well-cared for throughout the evening. Speaking of wine, the by-the-glass selection was excellent. What appeared to be the owner personally recommended a perfect pairing that enhanced my meal beautifully. His passion for wine was evident and his suggestions spot-on. The food quality was excellent overall. The tuna starter was absolutely sublime, in my view. So perfectly prepared and tender that it literally melted in my mouth. However, I must mention that while the Calamaro BBQ had wonderful flavor, it was disappointingly chewy and hard in texture. This single issue prevents me from giving the food a perfect rating. Despite this one concern, everything else was simply great. The combination of the stunning venue, exceptional service, excellent wine program, and largely superb cuisine makes Cortile Pepe a must-visit destination in Cefalù. I will definitely be back, if around again.

We enjoyed an epic meal at Cortile Pepe, among the best dining experiences we’ve had, and we’ve eaten at some amazing restaurants around the world. This one was hands down one of our favourites. I couldn’t recommend Cortile Pepe highly enough. The 5 Michelin Awards displayed proudly on the door should be indication enough, however, once inside the experience is nothing short of exceptional. The service strikes that perfect balance between polished and personal — attentive without being intrusive. The setting is intimate yet refined, with a courtyard that feels like a hidden gem tucked beneath the Cefalù stars. But it’s the food that steals the show. Each dish was thoughtful, inventive, and deeply rooted in Sicilian tradition — elevated to something unforgettable. From the amuse-bouche to the final petit four, every plate was a masterclass in balance and flavour. Local ingredients, delicate technique, and bold creativity come together in ways that left us genuinely blown away. It’s not just a meal at Cortile Pepe — it’s an experience. One that lingers long after the last sip of wine.

Spontaneous visit at lunchtime – really great service, and the food was incredibly good too (try the catch of the day). We left with full bellies and very happy. Definitely stop by to escape the hustle and bustle of Cefalù.
