Super public bath
Spiaggia di Capo Rossello is a coastal gem featuring several unique beaches, each with its own distinct charm. Majata Beach stands out for its natural beauty and historical significance, while Capo Rossello Beach is renowned for its golden sand and striking red and white cliffs. Lido Azzurro boasts a cyan-colored sea, Spiaggia di Marinella offers convenience to the town center, and Le Pergole impresses with its tranquil atmosphere and impressive cliffs.
Great beach for a sunny day. We went here early, around 10 am. We rented 2 beds and a parasol from one of the beach bars (€15 total), which was very cheap compared to other beaches we have been too. The beach had a lovely view of the Turkish Steps (Scala de Turchei) and the water was a bit cloudy of the sand, but very very blue 😍 it was average busy and the beach was okay clean, a bit of rubish here and there. Overall a great day and would recommend visiting this beach for a beach day.

Our favourite beach of the holidays. Parking in town so easy access and the you can swim looking at the Turkish steps as well as reach them on foot. Felt the best way to enjoy the steps.

Fine sand large beach with cristal clear water, a pleasure to swim. There are a few rocks but not too many fish while snorkelling There are bars on the beach and you can rent umbrellas for 20eur (2 chairs and 1 umbrella per day).

So beautiful. Park in the neighborhood and walk down to the beach. The sand is so soft and the water is lovely.

Very nice sandy beach, one of the best in Sicily. Shallow water in the begining, latter nice for swimming....very fine sand...

Great spot to view Turkish steps and enjoy a great beach. Paid municipal parking 5 minutes walk, 1 euro an hour, 3 euro half a day or 5 euro a day.

The Villa Romana archaeological museum offers a captivating journey through time, transporting visitors to the ancient era of Roman villas. With its breathtaking panoramic views and immersive ambiance, this site truly evokes the spirit of a bygone era. Although closed during our visit and lacking clear opening hours, there are ongoing efforts to make the Villa accessible for tourists. Despite being a work in progress, the site is still worth visiting due to its historical significance and cultural value.
Very nice place the guard was hidden for a while but he let us in with a smile. On the side of the ruins there was a place that looked like it was prepared for a wedding

(Translated by Google) Four of us went to Maredamuri for dinner. The place is beautiful; eating practically on the seafront under a full moon in such a peaceful atmosphere was fantastic. We shared appetizers, all excellent (sardine meatballs, mussel soup, and mixed fried fish), and each had a main course. Unfortunately, the pasta with clams was a disappointment; it tasted like nothing. The stuffed calamari, though a bit dry, and the pasta with shrimp and stracciatella were better. With a bottle of wine, the bill came to €40 each.

We tried it for dinner with friends and enjoyed it overall. The appetizers we tried were excellent (mussel soup, sardine meatballs, fried calamari and shrimp), the paccheri with shrimp were good, but the spaghetti with clams could be improved. The staff was friendly and helpful. Prices were higher than the local average; four of us spent about €45 per person for three appetizers, four main courses, and a bottle of wine. The dishes were excellent and very well presented! Slightly disappointed by the calamaro ripieno alla Siciliana (we weren't expecting that). But otherwise, perfect! I highly recommend it. The only downside was that, despite the open bay windows, it was extremely hot; there's no air conditioning. (Original) Super restaurant dans un endroit idyllique ! Seafood restaurant
Italian restaurant
Trattoria del Pesce is a charming seafood restaurant located on the beachfront, offering a variety of delicious sea dishes. The setting provides one of the most beautiful panoramic views and is perfect for enjoying a meal by the sea. Visitors can indulge in delectable options such as black sepia pasta and la dorada while taking in the spectacular beach scenery.
Very nice sea restaurant almost on the sand. Variety of sea dishes, we tried several and all delicious. The black sepia pasta must be tried. The only improvement area was the waiter (a young female): it’s not needed to serve the tables with a sad face the whole time. In any case we will definitely come back, beach was spectacular, almost empty and within a short walk you can see the Scala dei Turchi from the distance!
Sam — Google review
This small restaurant is located at the entrance of the beach which is next to the scala dei Turchi. The view is very nice just in front of the sea. Food is good, I was scared it would have been too touristic but I was finally positively surprised. Ordered spaghetti alle vongole and a frittura di calamari.
Gianfranco E — Google review
Really poor food- disappointing for a fish restaurant on the sea. We had to choose 2 of each type of pasta so chose 2 squid ink and 2 prawns for 4 of us. Then we went for their recommendation for mixed seafood starter. Squid ink was tasteless and gloopy. The seafood starter was rolled up fish full of bones. Paid135 euros- rip off!!!
Sarah K — Google review
What an awesome little secret hidden away on the beach front at the eastern end of Lido Rosello. A simple but tasty seafood menu that is way better quality and value than other casual beach front dining on the Scala dei Turchi coast. Worth driving to, enjoy a great dinner, and afterwards a perfect beach walk. It wont remain a secret much longer.
Godfrey W — Google review
I usually don’t go around giving bad reviews but this place is bad. The carbonara was a pile of spaghetti with literally pieces of fat on it, no meat in sight. Fish was bland and service lacking any will to provide a nice atmosphere for dinner. When paying the review just has prices with names “item”, no understanding of what was billed of one didn’t ask. We had asked a small piece of fish to compensate for the spaghettis fat pieces but the fish was still added to the final price. Avoid if possible. Overpriced. 3 people eating over 100€ consisting of 1 appetizer, 3 mains, 3 glasses of wine and a soda + water.

Quaint seaside restaurant. Serving seafood, pastas and salads. It's a small family run restaurant. Service was slow, but with this view, I can't complain.

The food has a solid base quality. But a bit too expensive for our impression. Birra da spina was with too little gas, bread was from the day before, caprese salad very basic. Fish was good!

Restaurant
Lounge Beach Scala dei Turchi is a beach club and restaurant located at the base of the stunning natural attraction known as the Turkish Stairs (Scala dei Turchi) near Agrigento. Visitors can reserve a comfortable spot on their deck just steps away from the water, offering a perfect setting for soaking up the sun. While there may not be public transportation to Scala dei Turchi, during peak season, there is a shuttle service available.
This is the place to go if you want to sit and relax for a view at the stairs of turkey! Definitely the best beach club. We got limoncello spritz’s, a burger and fresh cut fries, and spent hours relaxing. Great service. We also go massages, which were a great additional service. Bathrooms were clean! Highly recommend.
Grace H — Google review
The location has convenient parking, but unfortunately the restaurant was a major letdown. Prices are extremely high for the portions you receive, and the quality of the food simply doesn’t justify the cost. Most of the dishes tasted like they had just come out of the freezer – lacking freshness, texture, and real flavor. The only exception was the octopus, which was fresh, tender, and by far the highlight of the meal. Everything else felt uninspired and low-quality, especially for the price point. The service also left a lot to be desired. Staff seemed unorganized and overwhelmed, which meant waiting far too long for drinks or even for something as basic as ketchup or mayo. It gave the impression that there was no proper system in place to handle even a moderate number of guests. What made the experience worse was the atmosphere. The restaurant tries to appear glamorous and high-end, relying on expensive champagne and a “luxury” image. In reality, however, it felt more like a poorly run snack bar trying to mask its weaknesses with inflated prices. The gap between presentation and actual delivery was disappointing. Overall, apart from the octopus and the convenience of parking, there wasn’t much that stood out positively. For the high cost, the food, service, and overall experience fell far short of expectations. Not a place I would recommend or plan to revisit.

One of the nicest cocktail bars I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Spectacular sunset views, perfect Mojito, and the food, wow just amazing food, probably the best meal I have ever had. The staff were amazing, so kind and attentive, one young guy with so much passion and information of the local area, just thank you all of you for such a beautiful and memorable experience, I will return 😊
Julie W — Google review
Beautiful atmosphere with lackluster food and so-so service. The menu consists of mainly seafood and the only really non-seafood entree was a hamburger, which I would never order in Italy. We received our food pretty quickly but without dressing or vinegar and oil and condiments for the French fries which was the only thing I ordered.
Mireille G — Google review
Beautiful place! We parked at the restaurant and ate on the beach. Enzo was very kind and super welcoming.
Il B — Google review
We got here after excursion for a quick lunch. For the price range, I'm sorry to say I had expected a significantly higher level of service. First, when asked which dish would be the shortest to prepare, the staff simply pointed at the entire menu, evidently not understanding enough English - quite a surprise for such level of restaurant. Second, there were only two toilets, both quite small and clearly not enough as people kept pulling on the door (so no indication of occupancy). Third, our food arrived and one dish was custom that the waiter said he can fix up, however the custom part was not there. Since we were on a timer, we thought it was fine, but then they tried to charge us for the custom part anyway. Easily cleared up, but this simply should not happen when you pay 100€ for three dishes. Food was unimpressive (we had pasta with pistachio, spaghetti with shrimp and gnocchi with sea urchin). I did like pasta with pistachio sauce, but the urchin sauce tasted too much sea water and the shrimp came grilled whole - doesn't quite fit together with spaghetti. In pretty much any of the big cities you can find much tastier local food (also fresh fish and sea food) for half the price. Finally, the quite mundane beach cheslounges cost an outrageous 60€. No shower, no changing room, no toilet. Simply shocking. The beach is not cleaned either, full of sea weed, there were cigarette butts in the sand.

Giallonardo

Giallonardo is a stunning coastal area that boasts beautiful sandy beaches and charming little bays like le Spiaggette, Punta Grande, and Lido Rossello. The beach of Punta Grande is home to the remains of an ancient Roman villa dating back to the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.

Torre di Monterosso, a 16th-century tower built by Charles V to defend Sicily from Ottoman attacks, stands proudly on a promontory overlooking the sea and the beautiful beaches of Giallonardo and le Spiaggette. Unfortunately, it is currently closed to the public due to being purchased by private individuals and then subjected to judicial seizure.
(Translated by Google) As also written in the other reviews, access to the tower by land is not permitted. For me it's fabulous (Original) Cosi come scritto anche nelle altre recensioni, l'acceso alla torre via terra non è consentito. Per me è favolosa

(Translated by Google) The view that can be admired from the Monterosso Tower is breathtaking. Due to its prominent position on the sea, you can admire truly incredible sunrises and sunsets. The construction is one of the most characteristic and highlighted for those traveling along the coast between Giallonardo and Monte Rossello. Built in the first half of the 16th century, it stands on a promontory of red tuff stone and is part of the sighting and defense system developed by Emperor Charles V to protect the Sicilian coasts from Saracen pirates. Rebuilt on the site of a previous circular tower, it consists of a truncated pyramidal base, perhaps used as a warehouse, and an upper floor, where a small garrison was housed and which was accessed via a staircase connected by a drawbridge. It can be considered among the best examples of sixteenth-century watchtowers in all of Sicily, due to its location, architectural characteristics and state of conservation. It is definitely a site worth visiting. The tower is located approximately 3 kilometers south-west of the town of Realmonte. The oldest information on the Monterosso tower dates back to 1453, although recent studies suggest that its construction dates back to much earlier. The need for the construction of a watchtower in Monterosso, to defend the territory from enemy attacks from the sea, was presented to the Viceroy Marco Antonio Colonna, in the year 1583 by the engineer and famous mathematician Camillo Camilliani, who had been entrusted with the 'assigned by the Viceroy himself, to patrol all the coasts of Sicily to report the already existing guard posts, the places that they needed the construction of new towers and all the details of the coast. The existing building appears to be a reconstruction, on the same site, of the very ancient tower which was used as a watchtower. It has a square plan of 12.5 m per side and is divided into three rooms: the main one is made up of the entrance, the hatch for the cistern, a niche, the fireplace and the staircase leading to the terrace and two other small rooms for the the torrari's accommodation. Its armament consisted of an iron cannon of 5 pound calibre, with a case and wheels, an iron warning gun, 4 muskets, 4 pushguns with its stands and gun fires. The tower stands on a promontory, at an altitude of 146.36 m above sea level, built entirely from calcarenites and precisely from well-squared tuff ashlars certainly extracted from the nearby quarry located about 50 m west of the aforementioned tower, it is currently in a state of abandonment. Today its position allows you to observe from Capo S. Marco (Sciacca) up to Punta Bianca (Agrigento) for a total of approximately 50 kilometers of coastline.

(Translated by Google) The tower is beautiful, a reminder of an ancient Sicilian defense system. If you are a tourist and you wanted to see it, the stop would be mandatory if it weren't for a small hitch: the entire area is private. After the municipality of Realmonte sold the tower to a private individual, he built villas in the surrounding area, almost ruining the landscape, and closing access to the road to the tower. Indeed, even if it would be right for the protection of the property, they say that there is also a guardian to send violators away. I can say that the fact that it is private is not a big problem, also because after Mexican or Spanish film producers (I don't remember which ones) shot some scenes of a film on this mountain, the tower became a much visited attraction, but also vandalized (see the collapsed stairs), so the fact that it is private somehow preserves it. The problem, in my opinion, is the fact that it is just impossible to visit it. There should be a compromise, controlled visitation, keeping the property private and the custodian, and allowing people to see it up close. Too bad, usual Italian organization. Peccato, solita organizzazione Italiana.

Belvedere Kainon is a delightful destination that offers breathtaking views, especially at sunset. While it requires a bit of effort to reach—thanks to a steep climb leading to the free parking area and then on foot to the lighthouse—the journey is well worth it. Visitors can enjoy public restrooms and two kiosks serving an array of tasty sandwiches, including options like sausage with caramelized onions or swordfish paired with stracciatella and eggplant.
What a beautiful place to be at the sunset, enjoy the view, atmosphere and wonderful food. We had a frittura di pesce, so fresh! And the bun with fried calamari my son had was fantastic! Absolutely recommended!

(Translated by Google) A charming place, but difficult to reach, as there's a steep climb to the free parking lot and then to the lighthouse on foot. There are public restrooms and two food and drink kiosks, offering a variety of sandwiches (example: sausage, caramelized onion, and cheese €8 / swordfish, stracciatella, eggplant, and pistachio pesto €14 / lemon soda €3) with average value. Wide open space and background music. Overall, I recommend it for watching a picturesque sunset accompanied by a Spritz!

La Corte di Sofia - Ristorante e Bed and Breakfast is a charming establishment located just outside Realmonte, close to beautiful beaches and the Valley of the Temples. The rooms are well-equipped, clean, and tidy, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. The restaurant offers amazing Sicilian and Mediterranean cuisine at fair prices. Guests have praised the impeccable service and delicious food, making it a highly recommended dining spot.
We stayed here back in October 2023 and where really happy about our stay. The room was very spartan and simple but that exactly what we wanted as we basically only need a bed with a roof over at a low price. Who want to sit in their room while in such and interesting place as Sicily? We had dinner at the restaurant and I had what I think is the best pasta dish I ever had. Very good restaurant and Sofia is very kind and keen on provide the guests a good service. Excellent setting in a valley with olives and fruit orchards overlooking hills and mountains in a very quiet setting.

(Translated by Google) September 2024 - restaurant only. By far the worst meal of my entire stay in Sicily. To begin with, we were told that the menus displayed online were actually only available for at least four people (which is not mentioned anywhere on their website). The dishes were extremely disappointing: the fritto misto was uninteresting, obviously industrial and frozen (and not indicated as such on the menu, as required by regulations), and far too expensive for the quality worthy of a fast-food restaurant, and the busiate were frankly bad. To make matters worse, the service was slow, the dining room was unremarkable, and I had the misfortune of walking into the restaurant on a night of live music with a blaring sound system for barely ten customers. And to top it off, there was nowhere to wipe your hands in the restrooms. (Original) Sept 2024 - restaurant uniquement.
