Renfrew in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Renfrew, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Renfrew is a historic royal burgh on the River Clyde, known as the “Cradle of the Royal Stewarts,” with links to early Scottish royalty. Its centre features notable civic architecture such as Renfrew Town Hall and Museum, whose distinctive clock tower overlooks a traditional town square. The riverside and nearby parks provide pleasant walking routes, while large modern shopping and leisure complexes at Braehead and XSite are within easy reach. Its proximity to Glasgow and Glasgow Airport also makes it a convenient base for exploring the wider region.
With favorites like Braehead Shopping Centre, Climbzone, and Lomond House Carry Out, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Pizza Express and China Buffet King so you can get the best taste of Renfrew while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Shopping
Braehead Shopping Centre is a spacious riverside mall offering a wide range of shopping and entertainment options. It houses various stores catering to men, women, and kids, including homeware and department stores. The center regularly introduces new stores and features a family-friendly zone. Additionally, it has implemented a monthly quiet hour to accommodate shoppers who may require an autism-friendly environment.
Beautiful and cozy place for full family With loads of options for food and shopping things around Main corridor with a place with games for kids !!! Parking for free In my case was perfect because I could find a EV Charger free just in front of the M&S main door Wonderful

This was the first I'd been in for a while and absolutely loved the new look bowling 🎳 over at Xscape. Great night with family.
Nicola S — Google review
Braehead is among the top shopping + leisure destinations in Scotland right now. It’s strong because it keeps evolving, keeps the customer experience fairly inclusive (family, leisure, food, events), and it has both convenience and scale. Compared to other malls in Glasgow, it often feels more “destination” rather than just a place to pick up clothes or groceries.
Zain C — Google review
Second large shopping mall in Glasgow, which I particularly enjoy. It features a dedicated prayer room on the second floor, conveniently located next to the Fuel juice bar, with separate facilities for men and women. Additionally, several food establishments, such as Chopstick and Popeye, offer halal options.
Jalal A — Google review
The biggest shopping centre I've ever seen. Everything was so tall inside too, like the ceiling. There is a Haribo shop there. The first one to open in Scotland ever. It opened this year. Definitely recommend to give it a visit.
Zara M — Google review
I really liked this shopping centre. You can make good purchases at a good price here. Excellent infrastructure. The bus stops right at the entrance to the shopping centre. There are many parking lots around the building. Lots of brand merchandise. The most important thing for shoppers is the price. I recommend visiting it. It's beautiful inside.
Vlad P — Google review
Good shopping centre. Free parking. Easy access. Good clean facilities. Plenty of shops and food available. If you walk out to the rear by the river there is a nice area to relax and walk. The shopping centre could make more of this.
Mark C — Google review
Quite big and well thought out layout. You can find everything you would look for in a mall. Clean and good floors with nice temperatures and conditioning. This is the more fancy mall with modern style and plenty of high end shops too. Clean and tidy with easy access to all levels even with a buggy or wheelchair.

Snow Factor is an exciting year-round indoor resort that offers a unique blend of winter sports and relaxation. With its impressive ice-climbing wall, skiing and snowboarding classes, as well as a cozy bar and eatery, it’s the perfect destination for both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts. Visitors have shared their experiences of taking snowboarding lessons here; many found the facilities ideal for newcomers to the sport.
Started my first snowboard lesson on reopening week back in November, was a little challenging as a beginner, but I had fun. Level 2 later that week was not good at all. Being overweight does not make it easy, and I couldn't stand up on the heel edge. With Bradley and James perseverance and making a ledge technique, I started to get there. However had to go back and redo the level 2 as we ran out of time. Onto the level 3 a few weeks later. Was definitely getting easier now, and again thanks to Bradley, we progressed onto level 4 turns as well. Few weeks later and we finished up our lessons on the big slope. Thanks to miles and patsy for the help and advice. Have now been and had a full day ski pass, and having a great time on the big slope, still require some practice and experience, but getting better every run. Overall a great experience, wish I'd done this years ago. Never too late for a mid life crisis! Thanks again to everyone at Snow Factor!!

Had a great group lesson with Mark W in December 2021. Lesson was for level 3 but he also allowed up to venture into level 4 tasks. Felt good about what was taught and have booked my next lesson already. The slope and gear is great however reception staff were lacking some costumer service skills and the toilets would benefit from more regular cleaning.
Eden R — Google review
My husband and myself had enjoyed so much our 2nd snowboarding lessons with Andy! We came with no background but it was always something we wanted to try. We are really looking forward to our third lesson to be able in the future to enjoy a ride by ourselves! Also the staff is very friendly and there is really good facilities and a nice bar where you can relax after the lesson. I would recommend to go in the morning cause it's less busy 😊
Serena P — Google review
Honestly couldn’t ask for a better place to learn skiing. Even in the first lesson, you feel immense confidence because they teach you really well. Our instructor Kristina was extremely helpful, and very patient, even when our turns were monstrous. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go again.
Armaan V — Google review
Great day at Snow Factor! Only my second time snowboarding so was still wary but the slope and facilities were perfect as a starter. Be aware though if you have no snowboarding ability at all and do go for a £55 lesson (Far too pricey) and opt for the full day £30 lift pass then you can potentially be asked to leave the slopes because of danger to yourself and others. The staff were great though and allowed a few runs until we found our feet and picked it up a little bit more. Lesson next time to advance some of my basic skills I think!
Nickmatthew1 — Google review
First time ice climbing with Richard as our instructor. Was a great laugh and interesting to learn the technique. It definitely felt like longer than an hour. Would highly recommend.
Anthony B — Google review
I've been going here for years, it's good to keep your snow skills going all year round. Myself and a friend were there last Sunday night for the last hours of the open day and we were the last two on the slope, the staff member Chris was at the top of the Poma but didn't have anyone to look out for falling so he came out and showed me how to do some tricks on the snowboard and also gave me the confidence to ride the box, I've never wanted to do it in case I went flying off the side in front of crowds but as it was empty and he gave me instruction on how to ride it I went for it. Thanks Chris, you went above and beyond.
Scott R — Google review
Great lesson with Lucy last week. I did my Level 4 snowboarding group lesson and whilst all the instructors have been great, Lucy has been the best thus far. She was very approachable, attentive and a great coach. She genuinely cared and made sure I got the best out of my lesson. Hoping to hit the main slope soon so I’ll be back in touch for a private with her!
Brian ( — Google review
My husband and I did our first skiing lesson here and it was amazing! Tim, our instructor was patient, encouraging, and really helped us to feel more confident on the slope (something I never thought I'd say)! We'll definitely be back for another lesson!

Perfect for a family day out. Plenty of activities to choose from. Bowling, arcade, rock climbing, cinema. Has some food options as well. Plenty of free parking available

We went into projectionist & what a blunder that was. The food was pure minging, the tables were so stick, we had to actually ask for someone to wipe the table (and it was still sticky🤔). The best thing abkut it was the door closing behind us as we left half our meal. PLEASE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I wish there was a zero star or even minus score option

Activities within and plenty of restaurants but lots of shops closed, ski slope closed as is the ice bar. Very expensive now but has some good options for entertaining the kids especially if the weather is rubbish

The Tenpin Glasgow bowling alley offers a pleasant environment for a cheap date night or a fun time out bowling. With an attractive bowling area, an arcade section, and reasonable drink prices, it provides an enjoyable experience. While the venue may benefit from some improvements to keep up with its competitors, it still delivers on expectations. The bar staff received praise and added to the positive atmosphere. Visitors can also enjoy pool games, arcade machines, penny droppers, and food at this establishment.
The Tenpin venue has recently been refurbished and looks amazing! I go to play pool - the new tables are lovely, smaller American ones, no longer the lopsided ones with damaged cloth. It’s also not in a dark area of the venue, much lighter and brighter. There are now smaller metered tables you can play for £5-£7 an hour which is awesome! It’s a really massive improvement. You can order food from your table and there’s a good selection of alcohol free drinks. I had a blast and can’t wait to go again! As a haiku: Tenpin shines like new, Neon lights over pool tables Games, drinks, joy on cue.
Valerie D — Google review
Went the other night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The ease of ugh which to book online is great, as is the venue. You can even book to have a pitcher of drink or food as part of your evening's entertainment, at a very reasonable cost as well. The screen used to place player names etc. is easy to use and adds a nice touch to proceedings. All in all I cannot fault anything in the service or game time we got to experience. Will definitely be going again.
Gary O — Google review
Great for a family day out but be prepared for it to be busy and loud! Has a great selection of arcade games, our favorite game was space invaders!
Jamie M — Google review
We visited as a summer holiday treat with two kids, but from start to finish, the service was a letdown. Staff were disorganised, untrained, and unprofessional. We had issues checking in, were told to come back closer to our slot, and then had to monitor the lane ourselves. Once the previous group left, no one cleaned the bay — we had to ask staff again just to get it sorted. The worst part was the food situation. Our order was wrong, and we were told we hadn’t paid for certain items — even though we had. We had to go back and show our receipt to the kitchen staff. One staff member even asked me to come into the kitchen area to speak to them directly, which is completely inappropriate. While I was standing at the door, I overheard the kitchen staff talking about me, only to go quiet when they realised I was there holding proof of payment. The order was eventually fixed, but it took another 20 minutes. Throughout it all, the staff showed no urgency or care. A staff member named Verity was particularly rude and unhelpful — chewing gum while talking to us, completely disinterested, and acting like she didn’t want to be there at all. Not once did anyone apologise, and we were certainly never offered a refund or any kind of gesture for all the inconvenience. The bowling itself was fine, but everything around it made it a stressful, frustrating experience — not the family treat we were hoping for. Do better, Tenpin.
Aimee M — Google review
The bowling itself was a great experience. We got a deal 2 games with 2 burgers and chips for £31. There was a deal for 2 games and 2 burgers and chips for £22 but went for the £31 as this option specified that the burgers were “adult burgers” meaning the other option was probably child’s size. The burgers came with no sauce or even butter on the bun, was so dry, the chips unseasoned and no salad on the burgers. Shocking. Wouldn’t eat from here again.
Erin B — Google review
Had a great time bowling with the family, was quite busy with kid parties on at the weekend. The staff were all lovely and we got to keep on our own shoes. Food is like the usual soft play type food of chips etc . There is also a arcade area surrounding it, so able to make a few hours of fun in the one place.
Sarah K — Google review
This bowling was great we booked out two lanes for a kids birthday and all the kids also got meals with choice of either pizza or burgers and both options where thoroughly enjoyed by the children I would recommend being prepared for the large amount of arcade games that are in there as I wasn’t thankfully they have a bank machine inside the bowling to be able to get some cash out for change but all the kids had a blast

Braehead Arena, located within the Braehead Complex in Renfrewshire, Scotland, is a versatile events and sports arena with a capacity of 5,200. It serves as the home venue for various events including concerts, sports matches such as Paisley Pirates ice hockey games and shows. The arena is also where the expansion Braehead Clan ice hockey team of the Elite Ice Hockey League plays their home games.
I visited Braehead Arena in Glasgow for a performance and had a great experience. The arena is connected to a large shopping centre with plenty of shops, restaurants, and clean facilities. Everything is easily accessible, and the venue is well-organized. There are huge parking areas, which makes it very convenient. A great place for events, shopping, or just spending the day.

Amazing atmosphere when the hockey is on! Venue isn't too cold (I'm totally fine in a hoodie and jersey) Haven't used any of the facilities yet,c so I can't comment on the quality of those

Great arena for the Glasgow Clan ice hockey matches. Having only really got football stadiums to compare it with I think this place is really good. Easy entry and exit. Seats are decent with enough space. Food and drink are decent enough and actually not priced too badly considering your options. They put on a spectacle and a show even if the team is t doing it on the ice.

Great selection of shops and also lots of choices to eat only downside was the public toilets they stank and you could tell they weren't cleaned very often as a good few of the toilets were rather dirty and messy ie not flushed And a good few out of order Thank god shopping centre wasn't that busy

Pizza Express is a popular chain pizzeria known for its relaxed atmosphere and handmade pizzas. The staff are praised for their quick service and friendly demeanor, with particular mention of Angie at the Braehead location for her exceptional customer service. In recent years, Pizza Express has made efforts to cater to gluten-free diners by expanding their range to include pizza, salads, and desserts.
Recently had a pizza making party here for our 7 year old. We had a wonderful time thanks to the very attentive staff. Special thanks to Jackie, Kate and Johnny. The staff were attentive and helpful. The kids had great fun and loved the tasty pizzas they made under Johnny's guidance. The staff went above and beyond for us. A memorable day for our daughter and her friends. Thank you!
Elaine R — Google review
The restaurant is very smart with a relaxed atmosphere and disabled friendly for my friend in an electric wheelchair. The food was delicious but more expensive than what I would normally pay but it was Boxing Day. I had the Leggera Christmas Wreath (foremost in the photo) and my friend, the more traditional large thin crisp Romano. He really enjoyed a margherita and I a sparkler (non alcoholic cocktail). The service felt a little slow but the waiter was friendly and asked if we wanted water at the table which doesn't happen often. It set us up nicely for our movie in the Odeon Imax. Both are situated in the large multi entertainment complex of Xsite.

Had an absolutely amazing pepperoni pizza here, very tasty and piping hot. Nice to sit by the window and watch the world go by. The manager (Jackie) was very welcoming and friendly and had a bit of free time to chat. The restaurant itself was nice and spotlessly clean. Will definetly be back here again.

We held my daughter’s 8th birthday party here with 10 of her friends. The staff (special shout out to Willie and Jessie) were brilliant and the party format (make your own pizza) super fun but also easy on the adults and the kids loved eating their own creation. Fabulous team thanks again
Heather R — Google review
Food was as you’d expect for a chain pizza restaurant and service was pleasant. Paid the bill then realised that they’d not taken off the kids meals, despite the big signs everywhere saying kids eat free. Money was refunded (well will be in 3-5 day) and a new total given to us, but no actual bill, which we paid. Was only once we’d left we realised that this amount was incorrect too as should have been £16 less then the original bill and wasn’t.

Decided to come as a family for mine and my brother’s birthday. We had a lovely time. The food was great and the service was fab too. Our server was really friendly and super helpful, he showed us how to work the app and helped us to get the most for our money which personally I think is a great way for a server to be.

Food was decent, didn’t let me use the offer they had going on because I took one thing off of my pizza (someone else added something and still got it).

went in for a dinner with my boyfriend, place was pretty quiet - it usually is though. server greeted us at the door with a face like a slapped arse, asked if we needed a vegan menu, i said yes, as i am intolerant to dairy and was responded to with the most disgusting tone from the server!!! server then sat use down and THREW the allergy book down in front of me very aggressively, and said to the other servers, loud enough so that we could hear, that he didn’t want to serve us, all because i asked for a vegan menu!! absolutely shocking experience and i will not be returning.

Chinese restaurant
China Buffet King is a spacious and family-friendly restaurant that offers a wide variety of food options overlooking an indoor ski slope. It is known for its all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet, which includes both Asian and Western cuisines. Many visitors enjoy going in the afternoon as it tends to be quieter. The food is hot and appetizing, with plenty of choices available. Customers are advised to stir the food around and take from the bottom for optimal taste.
Just had the most epic dinner at China Buffet King in Glasgow! 🤩 The spread is insane - so many authentic Chinese options to choose from. Food was piping hot, flavorful, and ridiculously delicious. 👍 Value for money, no question. Highly recommend for anyone craving a legit Chinese buffet experience. 👌 Will be back for sure! 😊

I think it’s very much a hit and miss, but we definitely enjoyed this visit. The food was fresh & warm. Nice new additions since I’ve last been. Cheap & cheerful. Good variety there for fussy eaters. I really enjoyed the Peking duck. £14.99 all day Sunday!

Have been many times before. Enjoyed our time there with the family. Went in the afternoon- prefer this time- quieter. Plenty of variety to choose from- all hot when eaten. ( good tip when at any buffet- stir the food about and take the food from the bottom- I was told this many years ago ). All food looked appetising and tasted good and all areas looked clean/ checked regularly by staff. Staff clearing tables regularly. A good place to go when we're back at Braehead shopping!
Heather B — Google review
Pretty much what you expect, nice food, pleasant staff and a reasonable price. I go quite regularly and never felt like I was served bad food. Not an enormous selection but perfectly adequate to feel like you have variety and has some more generic food (onion rings, pizza etc.) which is good for my autistic son who can be very picky about what he eats. Never had more than a 15 min wait even in busy hours because they have a lot of seating too. And they serve pints unlike some other buffets in glasgow
J C — Google review
Went there for my partner's birthday, it was really busy. The food was as good as it gets. The sirloin steak was tough and hard to chew, the staff were as usual very attentive and friendly. I go there a few times during the year and would recommend this place for a good eating experience.
James B — Google review
This was possibly the best lunch time Chinese buffet I've had on Scotland. Normally the lunchtime offerings are rather Limited - not the case with China Buffet King their lunchtime selection was as good as many evening buffets I've been too. Overall the quality of the food was excellent there was a huge choice and the service was great. My only suggestion would be a couple of traditional Chinese dishes (TOFU, CHOY SUM, ETC) would be good - although I guess the audience for this is limited
Tony B — Google review
I worked in a buffet for a couples years in the past, and i go to different kind of buffet. this is the worst buffet i had ever seated in. Walked in, waiter saw us, didn’t came and greet us so we went up to him, asked for table for 3, he’s to quiet couldn’t hear a word he was saying to us, got seated at a dark corner, atmosphere was a big turn off already. Fork was dirty, Got food, Nugget (any kind like that) it was all hard, the sushi were not fresh! The only thing that i ended up actually eating was just the noodles. Had to get food elsewhere after, don’t waste ur money! Your better off going to marble global buffet or cosmo.

Went here for the first time today I wasn’t impressed the pizza nuggets and stuff I got for my daughters plate were hard now you can’t mess up lychees there so sweet but they tasted off found a hair in the peaches told a lady and she removed them food tasted bland and not nice I was so disappointed the cakes they had were very dry like they been sat for days very dry tasted nasty and very cheap really don’t recommend doesn’t even look clean either won’t be coming back tbh I was wondering why not many people were in here also there was sick all over the toilets they were filthy! Was horrible taking my 3 year old daughter in toilets that filthy what a rip off to

visited Yo! yesterday to try out their new bottomless belt offer. It has been a very long time since I’ve been able to eat as much sushi/sashimi as I want without breaking the bank 🤣so I was very much looking forward to this when I heard they brought this offer back for £30pp. Conveyor belt was full and loads of options for veggies too. Chefs were preparing new dishes and topping up the belt for the whole 90 mins we were there. Great selection of sushi rolls and sashimi for everyone. Food was fresh and staff were friendly and prompt to clear our table too. I did not take a picture of the total plates but I think between us we had roughly 28 plates and two drinks. This came to £67.40. Was told we saved £174….we did mainly eat from the yellow plates as it is our fave with sashimi and nigiri and it is £8.95 per plate. Would definitely recommend going to Yo! for this offer to satiate your sushi cravings like I did. Left the place with a very full belly and will definitely be back!

We had such a lovely experience thanks to Jina and Kiera—they were incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing. A wonderful bonus is that kids eat free, making it perfect for families. Highly recommend this place for great food and a warm atmosphere. Thnak you so very much!

I had a lunch here while at the con over the weekend. Staff and food were great! We had some curry and sushi and felt satisfied by the end for going back in the area. Staff were handing out review cards (me and my friends managed to get one from each) so thank you again to kit, mason and ceira :D

I love to bring my nieces here, it’s their fave… they even have their own chopsticks. The kids bento box’s are fab.. the floor and kitchen staff are always super attentive and brilliant with the little ones.. who are treated like wee VIP’s. Special thanks to Katya who was our server today.. you’re a star!

Enjoyed some nice food and refreshments here with friends, after a busy and very warm comic-con. The staff were very friendly, and while I'm only able to name Ceira, we found all the staff to be hospitable and kind. The food was tasty and easy to pick from the moving belt, and the miso soup and a cold coke was just what we needed to recharge. Worthy of us returning after a second day of comic-con, tomorrow!

Very disappointed with my visit today. Place was not busy but took long to be served and even longer for food which came out at all different times. Yo fries were way overcooked and hard, kids bento box was very poor compared to the Yo Sushi is city centre, plain rice with a scraping of curry sauce. My kids were so excited to visit but left very disappointed. Definitely not worth the money.

TGI Fridays - Braehead is a lively chain restaurant offering a wide selection of American dishes, beers, and cocktails in a casual setting. Visitors have praised the attentive service, with particular mention of Vicky who went above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant adheres to safety measures such as social distancing and track and trace while maintaining cleanliness. Guests appreciated the delicious food, prompt service, and Vicky's helpfulness in providing recommendations for cocktails.
Great reception when we came into restaurant, me and my partner had several sides and one main to share food was great and our server Vicki was phenomenal, really attentive and friendly. Picked our drinks for us as I couldn't decide and she was spot on with everything.
Peter M — Google review
Mid at best. The waitress was lovely. Good with the kids. The food was comparable to Hungry Horse or a Witherspoons. We ordered the Ultimate Texas Grill to share. It was diabolical. We asked for the steak rare, it was like an old shoe, the ribs were flavourless, the chicken was more like a sparrow, drier than a nuns chuff and hadn't seen seasoning in its life. The mac and cheese came in a sauce size ramekin, no slaw, the corn on the cob looked like it's been left overs from someone's else plate and was not on a cob. The BBQ beans were actually nice as were the fries. The only redeeming factor was the kids enjoyed their food but they're 6 and 7 and would be happy with oven cooked nuggets and microwave chips so they're not a judge of anything. Oh and there wasn't any haribos for the build your own sundae. Save your money make this at home for the same price or less and it'd be an actual 2 person portion.

Everyone here worked as a team and got things done in a timely manner. The food was delicious. Next time I come to Scotland I will definitely make a point of stopping in here.

Visited Braehead TGI’s. Food was amazing as usual and the cocktails are amongst the best. Our waitress Vicky was so genuinely friendly and helpful to us and particularly our wee boy, we really did appreciate the extra mile she went to. Thank you to her for helping make the trip from Aberdeen extra special.

My family and I went here for dinner tonight and I was blown away by the service. We had my 1year old son and Molly was over straight away chatting to him and creating a balloon animal for him which he was besotted with all evening! Our server Jamie was top notch, so pleasant and not overbearing when asking if we were ready to order or if our meals were okay. The food was exceptional as well, definitely will be back!

£22 for a burger wtf!!!!! Fridays™ Smashed Burger with our Fridays™ Legendary Glaze and crispy bacon Come on in, what world does it cost that for a smash burger? 5 cajun onion rings £5.99 The food was ok, but the prices are a joke.and how it's still open blows my mind.

Food was excellent. Service from Vicky was amazing, she couldn’t have been anymore helpful. Only small complaint would be the volume of the ‘background’ music. It was fine when we went in but as it got quieter as the night went on you couldn’t hear yourself think.

Nature & Parks
Barshaw Park, established in 1912, is a vast 55-acre park offering a wide range of activities. Visitors can enjoy sailing on the pond, cycling along the trails, and exploring the model railway. The park also features a walled garden and a municipal golf course. It's an ideal place to relax on benches while taking in the scenic views of Paisley's landscape or making use of the outdoor gym. Additionally, there are play areas for children and an onsite cafe.
Lovely park to visit, free to enter and to explore. Great to walk around & even you can bring a remote control yacht and sail it on the lake. This place is exceptionally good if you have a sunny day and looking somewhere to go. It's 15 mins walk from the nearest rail station

Great local park. Good for kids play area, sailing yachts in pond, walled peace garden. Cafe sit in, takeaway. Easy parking. Popular with dog walkers. Even a dinky train ride in summer

Beautiful park with a play ground, outdoor gym, a pond with ducks and swans, a cute little train (£1.5 pp), lots of greenery and benches. Perfect for a picnic on a nice sunny weather.

The park is in dire need of some TLC. Visited Saturday 13th July 24. The bins were overflowing. Members of the public were doing litter picking. Good playparks for toddlers and older children too. There is also a part for wheelchair using children to join in which I think is fantastic

First time visiting with the dog, driven past a million times. Parked on main road but worked out there is a car park or two. Wonderful kids play area, was rather disappointed I am an adult now and would not fit down the slide. Looks fab for kids! The pond area was nice. Full of mute swans and i was lucky enough to see some guys enjoying sailing small boats on the water. Plenty of grassy area to walk around. Met some nice people and dogs. Would say the area is well maintained. Bins available and saw worker collecting rubbish around park.

This park is great! It has something for everyone and is big enough that even when it's busy, everyone still has space. The park is clean and has a nice pond too. There's toilets, a cafe and a carpark on site.
Catherine A — Google review
A lovely park with good parking access, a cafe and ice cream vendor. The pond is a good size and few circuits give a good workout, there is a peace garden run by volunteers that is quiet and provides a nice place to sit and enjoy the fresh air in peace and quiet. Another nice afternoon circling the pond and sitting in the sun. The Swans and ducks seemed to be having a good time with lots of people feeding them.

One of the first parks that we visited as a family after arriving in the UK and i have to say, it is beautiful! This is a vast open space with a small hill-like climb, a cycling area, a small pond with swans, a children's play area and an amazing walkway! We loved it and would recommend everyone to visit this beautiful place to just take a stroll and let your kids enjoy fresh air.

Paisley Abbey, a 12th-century Catholic abbey and burial place of Scottish royalty, has a rich history dating back to its founding as a Cluniac monastery within a 6th century Celtic church. The abbey is known for its connection to Scottish knight William Wallace and its role in the Wars of Scottish Independence. It was also the site where Robert the Bruce's sister passed away after an accident, leading to the birth of King Robert the Bruce II.
Paisley Abbey is a stunning building, rich in incredible history. The architecture is breathtaking, and the sense of heritage is evident as you explore the space. What made the visit even more special was the team of volunteers. They are so knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming! They brought the history to life with fascinating stories and insights. It's well worth a visit, whether you're a history buff or just passing through.

Apart from the abbey, there wasn't much else to see in paisley and I tried . The museum was shut and Like most towns and cities in the UK , their glory days are in the past . Sad

Paisley, Abbey is a must see if you’re into seeing old churches and Abbeys. It’s a little out of town but well worth the trip. The exterior and interior are spectacular and is awe inspiring as any I’ve seen, having additions and rebuilds. And it is not overrun with tourists. I took the guided tour which was wonderful because nobody else showed up but me, the guide was a wealth of information and a delight to speak with and informed me that they wish they had more visitors. They have a little coffee and souvenir shop. Take some time and visit this wonderful old Abbey.

We loved it. We went to see the Barochan Cross but there is so much wonderful history. Paisley Abbey is a historic parish church of the Church of Scotland, located on the east bank of the White Cart Water in the center of Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland—about 7 miles (11 km) west of Glasgow. Recognized as the “cradle of the Royal House of Stewart,” it blends Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Established around 1163 by Walter FitzAlan, the first High Steward of Scotland, as a Cluniac priory on the site of a 6th-century Celtic church founded by St. Mirin. Under royal patronage, the abbey grew wealthy through trade with European centers. It was a center of learning; Scottish hero William Wallace is believed to have been educated there in the late 13th century. There are several royal burials in the church, including Robert III. The staff are wonderful. They were patient in detailing the above history and pointing out interesting highlights, including the alien gargoyle on the upper tier. Highly recommended.

Another one of our locations for looking for my wife's family, we encountered Paisley Abbey after we attempted our first look at Hadrian's Wall. And lo and behold, we find one of the ancestors by the name of John Hamilton, and we took our time examining a church that used to echo with his footsteps. Cool! As you can see, the church is very wheelchair accessible, and it is crammed full of artifacts, tombs, and lots of inscriptions.
Allen W — Google review
An excellent and beautiful abbey right in the heart of Paisley! A great design which certainly catches the eye. There is so much history here, dating back about a millennium. Battles between the Scots and Anglos with Edward Longshanks and Bruce, Stuart Houses. It has saw fires, the war, and much more. I recommend coming here. There are plenty of places to sit, have a rest in the shade. Wonderful place.
Travis W — Google review
“This is a place where the glory of God and the love of people come together. The spiritual atmosphere of the Abbey brings deep peace to the heart, and the brothers and sisters in Christ welcome you with open arms and loving hearts. ‘Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves.’ (Romans 12:10)”
Matthew D — Google review
I recently visited Paisley Abbey and was really impressed. The renovation work has made the place look amazing while still keeping its old charm. You can see how much care has gone into restoring and maintaining the Abbey. The staff were kind and shared interesting stories about its history and the recent repairs. The place feels peaceful and full of character. It’s also easy to reach with parking nearby and shops and cafés around. If you’re in Paisley, I’d highly recommend stopping by, it’s a lovely mix of history, beauty, and calm.

Love this park. Great childhood memories. Only problem being there are still NO public loos. Not even a disabled one for radar keys. On occasions, I have been there with groups of kids, and had to walk all the way back to our church just to let kids use the loo. Not ideal 😳

Lovely park walk in the sunshine with my family today. Totally recommend if you have youngsters as loads of fantastic climbing, swings etc to play on. Spent hours there today. Nice walk areas for you and the dogs if you have them too. Overall a great family day out on the cheap and there is of course the icecream shop if you fancied it when weather improves.

**Gravity Active Glasgow Birthday Party Review:** We recently celebrated my son’s birthday at Gravity Active in Glasgow, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well-organized, and the staff went above and beyond to make the day special. A huge thank you to Aamnah, who was outstanding throughout the event. She was brilliant with the kids—keeping them entertained, engaged, and ensuring everything flowed seamlessly. The venue is ideal for kids' parties—spacious, fun, and packed with exciting activities. The trampoline park was a huge hit, giving the kids plenty of room to run, jump, and burn off energy. Aamnah made sure every child felt included and had fun, with her patience and enthusiasm really shining through. The party package was thoughtfully organized, covering everything from the activities to the food. The only improvement would be adding more variety to the food options and offering some halal choices, which would make the experience even better. The kids had an absolute blast, and as a parent, it was a huge relief knowing everything was handled so professionally. Aamnah’s attention to detail and her ability to manage the group made the whole experience stress-free for us. I highly recommend Gravity Active in Glasgow for any child’s birthday party. The venue is fantastic, and the staff, especially Aamnah, made it a truly memorable experience. My son and his friends are still buzzing about it! We’ll definitely be back for future celebrations.

We celebrated our daughter’s 7th birthday party in Gravity and couldn’t be happier with how it went: registration, playing time, food and our cake presentation. Erin is one of the best people I ever met in service, I was prepared to work hard with kids organization and instead I was just given a free voucher for latte to chill 😁 She lined them up to register, lead to where they needed to be, covered a couple of my oversights. Delighted with Gravity and hope Erin can get some bonus from the company 😁

The place is filthy! Through the full session the mess was brushed up and left there, we were told to sit on the tables that had the mess on the floor because they have just cleaned the other tables and are not allowed on them. I couldn’t even take my kids to the toilet as they were disgusting. You can see in the pictures this is unacceptable. Due to this reason I will not return!

Kids love it. Cost a small fortune with all the extras. Drinks slushies ice creams, especially when there are 3 of them. Worth it to see there little faces light up. U know they will sleep well tonight. Good few hours spent together.
Ashfaq A — Google review
Good overall experience but having no staff at the bottom were you sign in was a little annoying, there should have been at least one person there.
Greg R — Google review
Our two boys aged 12 and 8 loved Gravity. They got plenty of time to jump and run and came out feeling happy and nicely tired out. It was a weekday so there were not many in which might not be the case on weekends. The reason for the 4 stars is just the price. It’s a little expensive like everything at soar so if you have more than one child it can be an expensive day out. The cost increases as you need to buy Gravity socks when you go the first time. But apart from that it is a genuinely fun place to go and the kids won’t be disappointed. One tip is to bring your own water as it’s just so expensive to buy anything at Soar!

We had a great meal. 25 and 29 y/o couple no kids. Best Italian meal given the value in a long time. We used a groupon voucher though. Full price we would not have visited.

First of all, the service was excellent! The gentleman (possibly Spanish) done very well to attend to everyone in good time as it was fair to assume they did not expect a table of 12 to wander in on such a hot day as well as the smattering of other couples and small families around the restaurant. The food and drinks all served promptly and accurately. Great job! The food, however, was bang average at absolute best i.e. Supermarkets own brand levels type of stuff. The BBQ chicken stack was two crispy chicken breasts of poor quality with a single strip of bacon, a teaspoonful of melted cheese and seemingly the dregs of a bbq sauce bottle so it was rather basic and dry for most of the meal. The semi-warm fries, couple of onion rings, slaw & rocket will help fill you up but fail to improve the meal any. The optional half rack of ribs on the side were actually not too bad though. Well cooked, soft and somewhat tasty. Nearly £4 for a glass of fizzy juice filled with ice is to be expected in all such establishments sadly but in addition to the £24 cost of the single meal above really makes you wonder how these places survive. Be mindful of the baby-changing toilet as it makes a hell of a noise after a flush and the sink tap did not work. Overall, not value for money and low on quality but staff do a great job!
David S — Google review
Party of 6 and we all had 3 courses. I enjoyed all of my food. Some people in the party did not enjoy certain aspects of their meal but that was more due to what they chose and said this would not stop them coming again. The only reason service was marked down by one was due to something not being heard when ordering dessert meaning someone got cream instead of ice cream but over all it was a nice meal at a reasonable price (even without the discount).

By far the worst Chinese I’ve ever eaten - food came cold, the chicken noodle soup was flavourless, tasted closer to bath water than soup. Curry sauce and satay chicken were awful, not the same as your usual Chinese & what you would expect (see photo for both) Also expensive for a terrible meal.

We ordered delivery tonight, we have been loyal customers against our better judgement for a long time after multiple mistakes and disrespect. An important part of our order was missing, then when we called to let them know we were asked "do you want it sent out now or next time?". We obviously wanted it tonight so we said "just now please". It took them 1 hour and 25 minutes to deliver a portion of chips and extra hot curry sauce. When it did eventually arrive, they had delivered us the small portion, instead of the large one we asked for. Thank you for the excuse to boycott your takeaway we have needed. Overpriced and the only thing it has over other Chinese places is the extra hot curry sauce, which admittedly I will miss but that is all. A great way to treat repeat customers.

Beijing Banquet is a bustling and popular restaurant, offering ample seating and extensive car parking. However, the availability of parking spaces can be limited, so it is advisable to arrive near opening time at 5 pm for convenient parking. Although there may be a short wait after that, the staff is courteous and efficient from the moment you enter. There are plenty of well-trained personnel available to escort you to your table and efficiently clear plates when needed.
This is the second Beijing Banquet we've visited. It was a lot smaller inside and not all the same selection, but the quality was so much better! Proper car park outside with disabled spaces. The food was fresh and regularly refilled. The chocolate fountain and popcorn machine both actually worked! Also, no loud music. Staff friendly and attentive. Will be back soon when the kids are off school.

Amazing quality of food and variety, just make sure you leave enough space for these pudding as shown. Service is amazing with friendly staff always helpful and clear tables faster so you can venture on your next food taster 👍😀

Self service buffet. Staff were good and attentive. Atmosphere was good, we went at lunchtime, would imagine it is packed at night, and even better. Superb selection of dishes, starters, mains, sides, sweets, ice cream, fresh fruit. Very clean. Plenty of parking outside.

We attended this buffet tonight 29th of Sept 2025. My friend had come up from England as it is my birthday and treated the family to a buffet meal. The bill was £90 for 3 adults and a 6 year old. Which if things were in order would be ok. But we left in disguist. The must clean their pots and pans with brillo pads then don't bother to rinse as thats all I could taste after each bite. The curry sauce was like water. No taste what so ever. This was the very first time we had tried this place as our local one was closed but it will be the absolute last we ever step foot in it. So thanks for ruining my birthday meal beijing banquet

Food was usual standard buffet food. Staff were visible ensuring food was kept topped up and placed was clean. We did go when it was busy. £90 for 3 adults, 1 coke and 2 bottled beers which in my opinion wasn't worth it. Ive been to other buffet places which have been much nice and more wow factor.
