Parks
Nestled in the stunning northern Vancouver, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park has been a captivating attraction since its establishment in 1889. The park boasts a 137m-long treetop bridge that offers breathtaking views of the lush forest below. Visitors can explore the entire park, including the Cliffwalk, Treetops Adventure, Story Centre, and KiaPalano for an array of thrilling experiences. Additionally, guided tours led by knowledgeable staff provide unique insights into the park's wonders.
Visiting the Capilano Suspension Bridge was just wow, what an unforgettable experience! The moment I stepped onto the iconic bridge, the views of the lush green canyon and the feeling of being suspended high above the river were absolutely thrilling. I loved exploring every part of the park. Besides the main suspension bridge, the Cliffwalk takes you along a glass-bottomed walkway with stunning perspectives of the forest floor. The Treetops Adventure is another highlight, with a series of mini bridges strung between massive old-growth trees—perfect for anyone wanting to feel like they're walking among the treetops! There are also captivating nature trails, kid-friendly activities, and fascinating educational exhibits throughout the grounds. The food on site was excellent, especially after a bit of adventure! I enjoyed a tasty meal at the cafe, and the gift shop was loaded with unique souvenirs. The customer service was top-notch—staff were friendly, informative, and really added to the welcoming feel of the park. Parking isn’t free, so make note of that, but the convenience is worth it. If you’re coming from downtown Vancouver, don’t miss the free shuttle bus—it’s comfortable, efficient, and perfectly connects with the city’s vibrant energy. Overall, Capilano Suspension Bridge offers an unbeatable mix of excitement, beauty, and great amenities. It’s a must-see for anyone visiting Vancouver, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic day out. Three thrills in one 😂😂. The view from the bridge down into the valley are amazing, the only place you cannot stop is on the stairs on or off the bridge. Then follows the tree top walk. This was beautifully lit with twinkle lights. It is a bit of a climb up but well worth it. Then we did the cliff walk which again had fantastic views. The park was prepared for Halloween so the decoration was lovely. Well worth the trip and a free shuttle bus to/from Canada Place.
D H — Google review
Such a gorgeous place!! One of my girlfriends and I drove up for a girls weekend and had such a wonderful time visiting the park! We got lucky and had the opportunity to visit while they have all of their Halloween decorations up and it was amazing! Definitely put us in a festive mood. All of my encounters with staff were great, everyone is so friendly and seems happy to be there, and the park is so organized and clean. Definitely worth a visit!
Anna R — Google review
We were amazed just at the entrance to this place. You know that scene on Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring? Picture the forest kingdom of Lothlórien and the Woodland Realm in Mirkwood. Too bad they didnt incorporate this into their builds. But I really appreciate the care and hardworking that went into all elements of this place. Definitely recommend going at an hour before dusk because the lighting that has been incorporated would be so amazing. I wanted to come back at night to see it but for the price was a little steep. I would recommend to mgt to allow passes to be used from opening to closing each day. The admission was so worth it, a must see!! Take your kids, but the main attraction of the Capilano Suspension bridge is not for the faint of heart or the person afraid of heights.
Everett G — Google review
Nice, well built and interesting place. Went during the halloween period so it was quite fantastic to see how it was decorated. They definitely didn’t skimp out on the decorations so it was quite a surprise to see how extensive and well embellished the entire park was. The gift shops are nice, and the choices for food isn’t too much so I wouldn’t recommend eating here. Either way, despite being a little pricey, I think it is still quite a lovely visit.
Keith T — Google review
I visited the park today and had the best time! Its absolutely beautiful and a must see for anyone who comes to Canada. A huge shout out to the amazing tour guide Diancy (I'm so sorry if I've spelt that wrong) who knew her stuff! Every question I had about the trees, or the forest, she was able to answer in great detail. She was super friendly and really made the tour feel extra special. Over all the whole experience was amazing!
Katharine C — Google review
The place is amazing. I really had a lot of fan. I was there close to Halloween, and the park was fully decorated. Everything very cleaned and organised. It's definitely worth to visit. There is a free shuttle that leaves Canada Place and stop on different hotels along the way.

My girl and I got our BC residents pass and wow what an amazing unforgettable experience! It’s absolutely stunning at night with the Halloween theme. The tree top bridges are my favourite! So many sites to see in a beautiful area. This place is so well taken care of and designed perfectly. Cannot wait to come back I’m so excited to go again:)

Cleveland Dam is a peaceful spot in North Vancouver, offering pleasant views of the Capilano River and surrounding forest. The area has several well-marked trails nearby, suitable for an easy walk or a longer hike through the woods. great for stretching your legs in nature. It’s also a good place to bring your dog for a calm, off-leash walk, as many of the trails are dog-friendly and provide plenty of space to explore. There’s free parking available close to the dam, which is convenient. The picnic area is a nice spot to take a break or have lunch, with tables and some shaded spots. Overall, Cleveland Dam is a solid choice for a quiet walk, a hike, or a relaxed afternoon outdoors with your pup.
Mahdad N — Google review
Calm and serene if there are no big crowds of people, but if there are, it gets busy and loud quite quickly. It isn't a large area and the dam itself is quite small. The reservoir/lake is big though, but there are no trails around it. If you're coming here looking to do that 2012 Instagram trend of taking a photo with your legs hanging over the edge, don't bother. It's all high-walled and fenced off now. The picturesque little house on the water is gone as well. The water flow in the summer is almost non-existent unless you're really lucky. It is at the one end of the Capilano River regional park, which is an easy and basic walking trail along the river. There are some nice enough viewpoints of the dam and gorge along that trail. Worth a look if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way and plan a special trip just to see this dam.

Absolutely stunning. Even more so on a clear, beautiful day. Hard to top the natural beauty. Great place for a little picnic and chilling with family and friends.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Capilano Mall, a beloved fixture in North Vancouver since 1967, is a vibrant shopping hub that boasts over 90 stores and services. This dynamic venue features everything from trendy boutiques to well-known brands like Walmart and Sears, making it easy to find the perfect outfit or household essentials. The mall's food court is a culinary delight, offering diverse options for both quick snacks and leisurely meals.
I regularly make the trip to Capilano Mall even though I don't live in North Vancouver—I work in the area, and this mall has become my go-to spot for a reason. Unlike the chaos I'm used to in Surrey, Capilano Mall offers a calm, clean, and respectful atmosphere that’s genuinely refreshing. It’s never overly crowded, the entire place is well maintained, and the people here actually carry themselves with decency. While it may not have a massive selection of stores, the ones it does have are fully stocked, tidy, and meet all my needs. It’s quiet, easy to navigate, and the overall vibe makes shopping or even just grabbing a coffee feel easy and comfortable. Capilano Mall has definitely earned my loyalty.
Leonardo D — Google review
If you're travelling through the area and need somewhere to stop to get supplies then the Capilano Mall has most of what you'd need. There's easy underground parking on site and plenty of retailers inside from larger stores like Walmart to more specialist shops also. There's a reasonable food court also. Worth a stop if you need to restock.
Dr S — Google review
I enjoyed shopping in Capilano Mall, enough parking lot, a delicious variety of food in the food court. I did grocery, too, in Capilano Mall Walmart.
Gashaw F — Google review
Great place for fun and all your needs.
BLUE W — Google review
The mall is fine, the parking is ridiculous! Who decided to put in Asian sized parking spots for North American automobiles?! Not too bright. Prepare for dinged doors.
Carl O — Google review
Not the largest mall, but it’s nice that it is connected to Walmart. There are a few restaurants such as Khagan connected as well. Well worth a visit if you want a small, quiet mall that’s you can visit and do your grocery shopping. Right outside is transit connection so it is very easily accessible.
Mo K — Google review
Very quite less crowded, Walmart is Good on products variety but No cocked food (chicken as example), There is money exchange outlet (Attar) And phone service company like Roger and Fido, Dollar tree

Has a fresh feel. Lots of new or renovating stores. Part of a large shopping complex. Food court could use a few more choices. Food court attendees were so nice!

Choices of food and plenty of seatings. Seabus to Canada Place, Hotel upstairs, next to shipyard performance stage and different kinds of shops plus hotels and eateries and children's playground Parking space is a little expensive and the pay station is very inconvenient. But in general, it's a nice place to visit
Rudy — Google review
Lots of places to have a coffee or a quick bite to eat! Lots of interesting food choices inside the market!! Great scenic view of the harbor!!
Mark F — Google review
Great place for local shops and vendors to come sell their items. I do recommend if you are looking for a place to venture with your family. Unfortunately though one vendor, Sharkies has been letting smoke from burnt food into the air weekly with no improvements. It's incredibly unhealthy for the workers and customers and makes it very hard to breathe. Visibility gets very foggy and you can hear customers and workers coughing frequently. I do wish that something would happen in regards to this.

Montgomery's Fish & Chips is a restaurant with a rustic-style operation that offers fried fish and chips. The cod, halibut or red snapper can be enjoyed here, and the food is very delicious and quick. The restaurant opens at 9am everyday, and it closes at 7pm on Sundays. There are parking spots available, but if you don't want to sit inside you can take your food out.
The man serving usually (perhaps the owner?) doesn’t seem too friendly haha but the food is great!! The halibut is definitely the best option—worth the price. The fries are so good. The Tartar is probably the best we’ve ever had.
Amanda E — Google review
Great fish and chips. Hot and crispy, with good batter to fish amounts. Personally, I like lots of tartar sauce, so I recommend asking for a second sauce. The fries are fresh cut and they have plenty of vinegar for you to add, if that's your thing. Well priced, and will return for more. Highly recommended to get this and go eat at the waterfront or inside the brewery with a beer!
D S — Google review
Really good fish and chips. Fish was absolutely fresh, chips were crispy until the last bite. Combo and specials are priced fairly. I went for the snapper and the batter was perfect, fish flaky and clean tasting. Great views of the city from Lonsdale Quay.
Keith F — Google review
Perfect place for good fish and chips... The 2 piece halibut is a nice size and the fries are perfect. Not too much batter which is a nice change.
Randall A — Google review
What a wonderful store. Im not sure if the owner is the bloke behind then but im sure that if he doesnt he'd be proud of the service we recieved. The portions were large. A well spent $10. The fish was coated in a thin batter which was crispy and not too oily. The fries, again were perfectly cooked. It was probably the best fish and chips I have eaten since being to England!
Keya H — Google review
It's located in a Lonsdale Quay market which is a great location. You have stunning view seating there. The halibut and tartar sauce was fairly good however the fries was smelly. It seemed they fried them in the oil which was already used to fry fish. But overall it's not bad
Amin S — Google review
The halibut fish was Just Ok but not good quality chips. i was very disappointed because the main part of fish and chips is delicious french fries

Seafood restaurant
PIER 7 Restaurant + Bar is an upscale dining destination that offers a wide range of seafood, meat, and poultry dishes. Located in North Vancouver's Shipyards District, the restaurant provides breathtaking ocean views from its waterfront patio seating. The establishment is known for its happy hour specials, including half-off bottles of wine on select days and classic cocktails like Aperol spritzes and sangria.
Beautiful experience and amazing food. Incredible view as well facing the water and downtown Vancouver. The service was great and food was even better. I would highly recommend an absolutely go again. I had the grilled salmon and my date had the steak. Both were just perfect.

I just want to share a short review to save your time: Good Reception. Beautiful location facing the Burrard Inlet and Downtown Vancouver skylight. Customer base in this restaurant appears to be generally seniors, that defines the tranquil vibe. They were understaffed and it took easy half an hour for a starter meal to get ready. Plates they served were all wet with drops of water on them that we had to ask to be replaced with dry ones. Food taste is average at best. All in all our experience was far from great. With the price you're paying you expect a certain level of quality and service.
Kamyar H — Google review
This was our first experience at Pier 7. We were warmly welcomed at the entrance and offered a table in the corner of the enclosed patio. A few windows were open, allowing us to hear the sounds of the ocean and breathe in the fresh sea air — a lovely touch that added to the waterfront experience. Our server, Tessa, was kind and attentive throughout the meal. Her service made us feel well taken care of, and we appreciated her friendly demeanor. The food overall was decent, though a few things missed the mark. My partner had the fish and chips, which came with a red cabbage coleslaw that appeared to be leftovers from the day before — the cabbage had turned brown, a detail the kitchen clearly overlooked. I had a green salad with salmon. While the salmon itself was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, the salad was plain: mostly greens, a few chunky cherry tomatoes and red peppers, tiny bits of cucumber, and a balsamic dressing that lacked any real taste. I did mention the issue with the coleslaw to our server at the end of our meal. She was genuinely apologetic, though no gesture was made to compensate or address the concern further. While there’s room for improvement, we still enjoyed the experience and might give it another try in the future. .
Patricia A — Google review
Came in with friends who has made a reservation. They were still setting our table up. We had an ok dining experience. Yes, we were here to be near the water since I am here visiting and have good eats. My waffles tasted very floury like it wasn't mixed well enough. I enjoyed the berries and compote but felt it might have been to hide the floury taste of the waffles. My friends had a variety of dishes which I did not get pictures of them as they all dug in their dishes before I could and they say it was ok as well. The service truly was understaffed as we waiting a while before we got our drinks, food and refills. The staff did say they were understaffed but my friends am told that they are always understaffed. However I did see a number of people around that could have helped the others with things but didn't. Where we were seated was a bit squishy because of the other tables being set up and trying to accommodate each request to get a view of the water. I may or may not come in for the view, but something needs to drive me in for it. Obviously, it isn't the food at this moment.
Deanna C — Google review
I chose Pier 7 to celebrate my birthday and had the best time ever! Youssef was our server and I gotta say it was one of the best services we had in Vancouver. Super attentive, kind and friendly. The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing and the view is stunning! So happy I had the opportunity to celebrate here. Definitely will come back soon
Maria S — Google review
Our evening at Pier 7 was amazing. This is our first time at this place, prices, food and service was top notch. We didn't expect much before coming here but we left extremely happy! Kari Ann was by far the best server we have ever had in our lives and I would definitely recommend you guys ask to be seated in her section if she is working on that day. She really made today feel special for us. 10 / 10 would recommend.

Casual restaurant located in North Vancouver, just steps away from the Seabus. The food and atmosphere are both great. We arrived during happy hour and got to try a bit of everything. The location and ocean view are unbeatable, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a drink while taking in the beautiful marine scenery.
Anita A — Google review
Pier 7 was just okay. While their plates look expensive and are eye catching the food on them doesn’t match the display in flavour. A few of our dishes the fish was overcooked, and for some reason the muscles may be the woest I’ve ever had. It has a lot of potential but I wouldn’t go back for the prices. Being on the water is nice though!

Their kebabs are some of the best around and they are very affordable. They have been in operation since 2011 in Vancouver and continue to be one of the most popular restaurants in the area.
It was truly a wonderful and magical time, and the food was really delicious and healthy. You truly offer an excellent service. Joojeh and koopideh is the key to your stomach 😊🤞👍👌

I ordered the lamb donair it's was ok the meat was good I just wish that there was more available toppings rather then the basics but for 13 dollars you can't go wrong . The service wasn't the greatest I didn't feel all that welcomed maybe the cashier was having a bad day after you get your food make sure to ask for napkins as they don't leave them out . Would I come back? I'd consider trying other items on the menu such as their rice dishes. If this establishment can up their customer service I'd change my review from 3 to 4 stars .

Jun 2025, Father’s Day. His choice, he had been there before, directed me where to park. Son treated, to a mixed platter, a lamb, and a chicken shawarma. Nice outside seating area, green and fresh. Warm the bread, staff mildly interested, quiet day so maybe tired.

Your quality of food is going down in order a Khobideh kebab and it looks like you have compromised on a good serving it was all falling apart when I got it. 15 dollars is not worth what I got I got a good serving. For salad I guess I feel I paid 15 bucks for a Greek salad. Will not order again bring the good old days back bro

Delicious and great portions for price! Will def order from this place again.. would've given 5 stars but I specified sweet Halifax donair sauce and got other sauces instead... but everything overall is worth it, minus small mistake..

The food is average, but the overall experience could be greatly improved with a change in staff attitude. A simple smile or greeting can go a long way in making customers feel welcome. Unfortunately, the service felt cold and uninviting, almost as if the staff member didn’t want to be there. That kind of atmosphere can really affect whether someone chooses to return.

I was first introduced to donair by a Persian gym buddy who suggested this Northshore restaurant to tackle some major hunger after a Gym session. I'd heard of donair Mediterranean vertical barbecue before but had never been. Always down for well-seasoned and spicy food, the first taste of Yummy's mixed beef and lamb donair made me an instant fan. Beyond the very generously sliced barbecued meat, a wide choice of different vegetable ingredients and several sweet and spicy sauce options (garlic, tzatziki, or hot) can be added to the delicous pita bread -- which is very soft, fresh and doesn't break or leak. Many additional condiments are also available at-table for customizable taste: Frank's, Sriracha, Sriracha Mayonnaise, Ketchup etc. A very well-stocked Cooler also contains a ton of beverage choice: soft drinks domestic & imported, juices, bottled waters, iced teas + lemonade, red bull & sports drinks. Something for everyone. The interior of Yummy Donair's very ideal corner location on 16th Street is bright and clean with curving stone counters along window, several individual tables for four, and new seating both inside and outside; the adjacent outdoor patio seating area is surrounded by shady trees and shrubs along Hamilton Avenue, ideal for hot Summer weather. Cool Plants and Aquarium, colorful new Mediterranean lighting, well-mixed Spotify playlists, and very Welcoming People make your visit a very pleasant one.

I am a savage for yummy Donair. Been coming here for years. Can’t believe I haven’t rated it before today. Great Donairs and Sagnak bread. Park in the lot on the east side of yummy. Then go to the park. Nice picnic close to home.

Sushi restaurant
I have been a patron of Sushi Man for nearly ten years, and I can confidently say that their food is both delicious and reasonably priced. Even my picky eater daughter enjoys their Teriyakis. However, if you're seeking an upscale sushi experience with a great ambiance, this may not be the ideal spot. As a laid-back family, we value good service and quality ingredients.
Really fun! My family has been coming here for a few months now, usually around once or twice a month! We really love this place because of the nice atmosphere and delicious sushi, I highly recommend for groups who want to eat a lot of good food!
Mica S — Google review
Worst sushi I had ever have…. First… the waiter had no knowledge about their food, and didn’t know how to serve. (I don’t know how to explain here in words…) anyways. And he took my orders wrong … I ordered three rolls and two were wrong. Then I asked another waiter (who’s smarter) about my rolls and he admitted it’s wrong. So he took my plate. It came back in a few min. But since I ate one of the rolls (the correct order one… all three rolls on the same plate) and the plate was a bit messy…. But when they returned, they simply took away the wrong rolls and placed the rights ones there… without cleaning up the plate… so it looks pretty bad. And their sushi was loosely wrapped. So the ingredients fall apart when I eat. For the hand roll. The seaweed was so soft and moist which is not right. Only thing is price is relatively cheap. So you get what you pay Anyways. Won’t go there again

Allen was a great server! Very friendly and patient with our two little kids! The sushi portion was great considering the price. We usually choose this as our go to place for sushi.

Canada Place is a distinctive complex in Vancouver designed to resemble a ship, featuring a convention center, hotel, and ferry terminal. The iconic white sails of Canada Place offer stunning views of Vancouver's waterfront, Burrard Inlet, and the North Shore mountains. It serves as both a cruise ship terminal and the Vancouver Convention Center, hosting numerous events throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy attractions like FlyOver Canada, offering a virtual experience of flying over notable Canadian landmarks.
It is an incredible and stunning view of cruises and seaplanes while enjoying the sunset, as well as the ocean. Tons of singing street performers along the road, tons of visitors from all over the world. I can't describe how happy I was when I was there. I am definitely coming back to this place. Oh, Vancouver, how I miss you already !!!

The area offers an excellent atmosphere for strolling and observing tourists as they board their cruises. In addition to the lively ambiance, there are various rides and souvenir shops to explore, making it a vibrant destination. Walking to or taking a ride share service is best since I didn't see any parking areas.

It is an Iconic landmark and a must-visit in Vancouver. Canada Place offers stunning views of the waterfront, mountains, and city skyline. The architecture is impressive, and it's a great spot for photos. Explore the shops, dine at one of the restaurants, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Perfect for locals and tourists alike

Place du Canada is an impressively large and beautifully designed public space right in the heart of Vancouver. The area is open, welcoming, and very well laid out, making it easy to walk around and explore. It’s a truly pleasant attraction, whether you’re visiting for the first time or stopping by again. There’s always something happening here—events, activities, or just the natural buzz of people enjoying the space. It feels vibrant and full of life, yet still comfortable enough to relax and take in the surroundings. The mix of scenery, atmosphere, and things to do makes it a great place to spend some time. Overall, Place du Canada is definitely worth a visit if you’re in Vancouver.

Canada Place is iconic and you’ll see the seaplanes, cruise ships and famed whale statue and Olympic Cauldron. Perfect place to walk along the harbor, shop and enjoy the many restaurants. It’s usually busy given that it is by the convention center and many cruise ships dock in the area. There is also a very fun ride, FlyOver Canada that will make you feel that you are actually flying, suspended in air with an aerial and jaw dropping views of Canada. Nice activity if it’s a rainy day.

Last week was my first cruise and was pleasantly surprised how easy and efficient it was at Canada Place to drop off our luggage and proceed to get on board our ship. We walked by the day before our ship left to get a lay of the land (walking down toward the luggage drop off) and ended up taking an Uber the day of (overpackers, lol) and got down to the drop off very quickly.

Shopping mall
Shopping
CF Pacific Centre is a renowned upscale mall that has been a shopping destination since 1971. It features an array of premium retailers, designer brands, and dining options. Visitors can explore The Hudson's Bay Company for a wide range of products and keep an eye out for special sales during 'Bay Days.' Holt Renfrew offers quintessentially Canadian items, while Nordstrom Pacific Centre provides an American high-end department store experience.
I recently visited CF Pacific Centre in downtown Vancouver, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The mall is located right in the heart of the city, making it easy to get to by public transit. As I walked in, I was impressed by how clean and modern everything looked. The layout is mostly underground, which makes it feel cozy and protected from the weather. There are many stores to explore, from high-end brands to more affordable options. I enjoyed browsing through shops like Holt Renfrew and Apple. The mall also connects directly to Hudson’s Bay, which adds even more shopping choices. When I got hungry, I headed to the food court. I was happy to find several vegan-friendly options. I tried a quinoa bowl with grilled tofu, which was both tasty and filling. There were also other places offering plant-based dishes, so I had plenty of choices. Overall, my visit to CF Pacific Centre was enjoyable and convenient. The combination of a central location, a wide variety of stores, and vegan-friendly dining options makes it a great spot for shopping and grabbing a bite to eat in Vancouver. I look forward to returning soon.
Sobhan J — Google review
Pacific Centre is a convenient shopping destination in downtown Vancouver with a wide range of stores, but it lacks a standout attraction to truly draw people in. While the mall offers many shopping options, the overall atmosphere feels dated and in need of renovation. The food court is overpriced and not particularly impressive, and the presence of drug-addicted individuals inside can make the experience uncomfortable at times. Parking is another downside—it’s extremely expensive, which adds to the overall cost of a visit. On a positive note, the staff at the Roots store are friendly and helpful, offering great customer service. Overall, Pacific Centre has potential, but it falls short in delivering a pleasant and memorable shopping experience.
Kenneth L — Google review
This shopping mall is conveniently located and offers a wide variety of shops, including the upscale Holt Renfrew department store. The food court also provides plenty of dining options to choose from, catering to different tastes. However, one major downside is the parking. The rates are extremely high—around $10 per hour. We spent just two hours there and ended up being charged $20.80, which made the overall shopping experience feel quite costly. Additionally, many of the stores available here can also be found in other malls or shopping areas, so there’s not much that sets it apart in terms of uniqueness. While the mall is clean and convenient, the expensive parking may be a deterrent for some shoppers.
Min N — Google review
CF Pacific Centre is one of the largest and most popular shopping destinations in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. Located at the busy corner of Georgia and Granville Streets, it is directly connected to several SkyTrain stations, making it easy for visitors to reach by public transit. The mall features over 100 stores, including world-famous brands such as Holt Renfrew, Nordstrom, Apple, and Sephora, as well as a variety of Canadian retailers. Shoppers can find everything from fashion, beauty products, and electronics to home décor and unique gifts. What makes CF Pacific Centre special is not only its diverse range of stores but also its modern design and convenient layout. The mall is partly underground, offering a comfortable shopping environment protected from Vancouver’s rainy weather. In addition to retail shops, the centre has food courts, casual cafés, and sit-down restaurants, giving visitors many dining options. It is also within walking distance of major downtown attractions like the Vancouver Art Gallery and Robson Street. Whether you are a local resident looking for everyday shopping or a tourist seeking high-end brands, CF Pacific Centre provides a central, stylish, and accessible shopping experience right in the heart of Vancouver.

I want to add that this location DOES have free wheelchair rentals. I searched online and was told no. My 65 year old husband and I had been walking for two hours waiting for hotel check-in and I figured it would be a dry place to wait, even without a wheelchair rental option as he was exhausted. Imagine my delight when I found the customer service kiosk and it said wheelchair rentals! The process was quick, easy, and free. He was able to spend the remaining two hours out of pain and back to enjoying himself. I don't think you realize how much you saved the day for this old couple. We can't thank you enough for being there.

CF Pacific Centre is a fantastic shopping destination right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The mall is clean, modern, and well-organized, making it easy to find everything you need. It has a wide variety of stores, from high-end fashion brands to everyday essentials, so there’s truly something for everyone. The food court and nearby dining options are convenient for a quick snack or a leisurely meal after shopping. Customer service is generally helpful, and the mall is well-connected to public transit, making access very easy. Overall, CF Pacific Centre offers a pleasant, convenient, and enjoyable shopping experience every time I visit

As time goes on, I have very mixed feelings about this gallery. It is the biggest one in the city but no student membership is available. I used to be a member, and can no longer afford it. The entry fee is exorbitant so I bought a year-long entry pass to make up for it... I also wonder about the curation. I liked the recent ceramics exhibit but that's because I love ceramics! I felt underwhelmed by the others. My previous visits ~4-5 years ago felt stronger than recent exhibits. Bring in more classical/traditional work, in addition to contemporary, to balance things out. I mean beyond Emily Carr (who is great but shown constantly).
Dean C — Google review
While I live near and visit Vancouver a lot, I hadn’t been to the Vancouver Art Gallery in almost 20 years. The cost to visit is rather high, given the size of the gallery. As a BC resident it was $29. We spent just over an hour visiting the 4 floors. The up escalators were all out of order at the time of visit, though there was an elevator for accessibility. The exhibits were well presented and maintained, though the building was super warm and lacked air flow. The Emily Carr exhibit was definitely the highlight for me.
Alyssa B — Google review
Visiting the art gallery for the first time was a truly wonderful experience. The exhibition featured a wide range of unique art pieces, including beautifully crafted pot sculptures in various styles and designs. I was especially fascinated by the ceramic sculptures, each one showcasing incredible detail and creativity. The gallery also displayed stunning paintings that captured different themes and cultures. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience that gave me a deeper appreciation for diverse forms of art and cultural expressions.

This is a nice gallery to visit if you have a couple of hours to spare while in town. It is a spacious place with exhibitions from different artists. The content changes during the year so it's good to keep an eye on the venue schedule. This venue is centrally located in downtown.
C T — Google review
I must confess that I found myself somewhat underwhelmed. The impressive architectural structure did not seem to house anything particularly captivating or noteworthy. The contemporary and conceptual art installations, while present, did not fully engage my interest. Consequently, I would only recommend a visit if one has already experienced all other attractions Vancouver has to offer.
Gayane G — Google review
It’s definitely a smaller gallery and pretty quick to experience, but I loved seeing Otani Workshop’s first NA solo exhibit! It is a bit pricey considering they don’t have permanent installations but still worth supporting and the staff are so sweet here!
Cynthia — Google review
Really wish I had read reviews before visiting this place. Someone else described it as one of the least inspiring art museums and I would strongly agree. What made it so much worse was the fact they closed the main stairs, forcing us in loops to get to tiny back stairs. Then, where there were escalators, half didnt work - so time to backtrack around the building through the depressing exhibits of a single barrel of hay. I understand artists suffer for their art - but must I suffer as well?

The Vancouver Lookout, situated in the heart of the city at the top of Harbour Centre, offers a thrilling glass elevator ride to its 360-degree observation deck standing at 168 meters. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Vancouver's skyline, North Shore Mountains, Pacific Ocean, and English Bay. The attraction also boasts interactive exhibits that provide insights into the city's history, culture, and landmarks. Additionally, guests can visit the Armstrong Gallery featuring local artists' work.
Super interactive, exciting and fun experience! A must see in Vancouver. Beautiful sights of the city all around and lots of interesting, informative posts present showcasing the different attractions, monuments, green spaces and history of the city with some even outside of the city too! Also, when you go up the elevator to the main area you get to see the city through the windows which amplifies the experience.

First time visit here as visited Vancouver couple times. Great view for 360 degree view of all the directions of the city, in a sunny day. Drawback is they will close before sunset, so you cannot come for a night view. But probably they are worried about the safety in downtown for that.
Peter L — Google review
That was sooo exciting when you go up in the very quick glass elevator about 130 meters high, or actually 168 meters above sea level! You can see all of Vancouver’s attractions from above. Inside, there are pictures of different Vancouver spots with their history, and there’s even a QR code you can scan to listen to the guide. Highly recommend it!

We didn’t get time to go to grouse mountain so decided to do the lookout. Cost is approx $44 for two. It was ok. Not much atmosphere at the top but there are markers for each site/building etc. it was cool being in the elevator outside. I wouldn’t say it’s a must do.
Tracey G — Google review
The Vancouver Lookout definitely lives up to its name—you get a mostly great panoramic view of the entire city. It’s a beautiful way to get your bearings and take in the skyline, mountains, and water all at once. That said, the ticket prices are pretty steep for what is essentially a quick experience. I give them bonus points for the thoughtful touch of having stepstools for little kids so they can actually enjoy the view too. I’ve done it once and it was lovely—but at that price point, I don’t feel the need to do it again. Worth checking off your list, but maybe not a repeat visit.
Nazgol — Google review
If you’re a first-time visitor to Vancouver or keen on getting a quick, immersive city overview—especially with different lighting by day and night—the Vancouver Lookout is worth a stop. For seasoned locals or those watching the budget, you may choose to simply admire the skyline from street-level rooftops or nearby drinking spots.

Pacific Northwest restaurant (Canada)
Restaurant
Hawksworth Restaurant, located in the heart of Downtown Vancouver within the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, offers inventive Pacific Northwest cuisine and an extensive wine list. The restaurant serves contemporary Canadian dishes that celebrate regional ingredients and seasonal flavors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With a focus on creativity and skilled technique, Hawksworth provides a sophisticated yet relaxed dining experience. The elegant bar features a dress code and offers a dedicated cocktail program with signature drinks like the Hotel Georgia.
My boyfriend and I went to Hawksworth to celebrate our anniversary, and we had such a wonderful experience. The rib eye and veal steak were absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Special shoutout to our server, Jenna, who was exceptional throughout the night. Due to some circumstances, she had to move our table, but she was so attentive and generous that we weren’t bothered by the change at all. Her thoughtful service made our night even more special. Loved everything about the evening, we’ll definitely be back!
Peigee C — Google review
We had dinner at Hawksworth last night and overall, it was a nice evening out. A few of the dishes were larger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise given the price of dining out these days — always nice when it feels like you’re getting some value. That said, my main — the veal cutlet — was unfortunately overly salty. And I tend to like my food on the saltier side, so for me to say it was too salty really means something. The waitress was great about it and kindly offered to replace the dish. Shortly after, the manager came by as well, apologized, and offered the same, which I appreciated. I decided not to go for a replacement of the same item as I figured it might come out similarly, and while I considered ordering something else, I just lost my appetite. To their credit, they comped the dish and also offered a dessert on the house. So while the dish itself was a miss, the service was absolutely excellent — thoughtful, proactive, and professional from start to finish. All in all, I’d give it 4 stars. Not a knock on the service at all, but more a reflection of the food experience that evening. Would still come back and give it another shot.

Went to Hawksworth for our anniversary dinner and had a great time. Portions were solid for the price. We started with the mussels (really good), then had the pork & scallops and lamb chop for mains — both were excellent. Tried the cabbage and mushroom sides, but they were both so salty — would skip sides next time and go for another appy or main instead. Finished with the Basque cheesecake, which was just okay (not as good as the ones we had in Spain recently). Service by Lou was friendly and attentive, and we got complimentary bubbly to celebrate. Would definitely go back, just order a bit differently next time.

From the start of our venue search, Hawksworth stood out. We loved the York Room - it perfectly fit our vision for a small, intimate wedding. The space was clean, crisp, and had a timeless, classy feel that made it the perfect backdrop for our day. Emily was our first contact and was incredibly helpful, friendly, and informative, which made planning easy. Later, Marlen took over and provided exceptional support - she was attentive, responsive, and really cared about making sure everything was just right. Her guidance helped reduce any stress and made the whole process enjoyable. We went with a minimalist decor theme, but the York Room was still beautifully set up, and the atmosphere matched exactly what we imagined. Bryson did a fantastic job leading the reception that evening and even helped organize the tea for our simplified tea ceremony. The food was delicious, and we received so many compliments from our guests on the venue, service, food, and drinks. Everyone truly enjoyed the experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team for our wedding reception. Hawksworth and its staff exceeded our expectations in every way, and we are so grateful for their part in making our day so unforgettable.

Hawksworth is consistently the best restaurant in Vancouver. Elevated delicious cuisine and outstanding wine and food service. The tempura oysters were delicate and tasty. The inventive chicken with prawn mousseline was impeccably cooked, a typical expression of Chef David Hawksworth’s skill. The rum ice cream mille feuilles dessert was light and refreshing.

Great atmosphere, always a fun place where you might bump into celebrities. Food is outstanding, a bit pricy, but it's Vancouver. Feels like such a fun space in the heart of the city. Will definitely be back

Nestled in Vancouver, British Columbia, the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver is a luxurious waterfront hotel with stunning city and ocean views. The hotel boasts elegant accommodations with floor-to-ceiling windows, world-class dining options, and a 30,000-square-foot park on the sixth floor. This hotel is so clean and modern! Everyone who works here has been extremely accommodating and friendly! It feels like a home away from home. I have a comfy bed, well-stocked bathroom with soaps, lotion, and even mouthwash and qtips. Beautiful water view from my room. Walkable and safe downtown area. Close proximity to the airport. Comfortable meeting rooms with charging built into the desk. Healthy food served for our breakfast and lunch banquets. I even had a complimentary robe to wear and slippers that fit my size 8 women’s shoes! What an outstanding experience! So glad I visited and signed up for the Marriott Bonvoy rewards program no!

Arrived from Alberta to BC from a 12 commute for a funeral to JW property. Booked this place because of availability only for one night . Used my Marriott points thinking this would be a nice treat in such a stressful situation. BIG MISTAKE! Due to a minor glitch and hotel policy on incidentals the check in process was a nightmare. Not only was no one accommodating their lack of professionalism, empathy , and service didn’t go unnoticed. Anyone who is a minority or person of color will be judged and treated like garbage. Maybe due to my image not being up to par since we were travelling, the treatment we received was not acceptable in any way . Manager on duty “Marianne” or Marianna needs to be trained again to be professional not judgemental and do what she is hired to do and represent the brand she works for . She washed her hands of it instantly with no solutions and ran in the back . I asked to speak to her again after the check in was done and was told she would contact me . Returned back to the property 6 hours later called down again to speak to another mamas on duty “Donna” . I sat in the lobby 45 minutes and watched as every other guest was treated fairly and with respect , offered water , help with luggage etc and at this point it was clear we didn’t belong here . Sad , disgusting. The manager at night said there was no notes saying for anyone to contact me but let it slip tha there were “ notes “ that my check in was not smooth as I the guest didn’t comply with the hotel policy ! So clearly the rest of it was left out and it was a one sided note judging me not that I was already checked in and wasn’t happy . For a hotel of this calibre it’s sad that paying guests and guests booking on points are treated differently. Points are still money . Everyone’s situation and booking are different and shouldn’t matter . Offering a bottle of water to someone checking in isn’t gonna kill anyone . It’s called service . Not to mention the room was just ordinary nothing spectacular the fridge didn’t work and there was no water or enough coffee robes slippers nothing was ready in this room. No better than a best western hotel . Was not offered help with luggage and no guest is allowed to use the bell cart. There was absolutely no service provided to me at any level as a guest . It makes sense now . As I was leaving I heard and saw the manager Marianna gossiping about me to the other front desk and bell staff . I felt like I was in high school all over again . Do better as not only are you in the service industry but as a human being. In 50 years this is absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had . I will never stay at a JW property again . Not worth the stress and treatment . Embarrassing. Whoever is running this hotel really needs to see this and other reviews as I just seen someone else describe it referring to a holiday in as better ! I couldn’t agree more . Beware before booking at this property.

We stayed here for a night during the week back in April 1, 2025, when the building we live in had a scheduled power outrage. The room was very spacious and clean, great value of money spent. We just wished we did not have to go to office the next day, so that we could enjoy the room more. Staff was nice and friendly, especially the server who was a mother of twin at the executive lounge. Amazing lounge in terms of food, design, and service. As a tea drinker, I was very impressed with their tea selection.

Front desk taught what words to use, but reading claims of exceptional staff leaves me feeling like they are bogus. I questioned charges based on our conference rate “we have nothing on file”.. smarmy smile and have a nice stay face. Turns out I was correct, not sure who messed up but a proper 5 star hotel would have taken my question and figured it out. Bellman good. Didn’t meet any other service ppl. Restaurant yappy hour was fun. Parking is very expensive. Douglas rooms imo are fugly. Oh and plastic bags of ice to put in a $600 yeti cooler, bags leak water, plastic goes in garbage, that’s sustainable?? Ergh… New normal I guess.

I've been here on conference 3 times. Beautiful rooms, friendly staff, very enjoyable. This time, unfortunately, our door lock wouldn't work at the end of a long day. It required about a half hour or so for maintenance. Our surprisingly young manager couldn't have been nicer, escorted us to the hotel lounge and comped us drinks and food while we waited. Fantastic customer service, made everything painless. Loved my stay, thanks to all working hard at The Parq!

I don't think I've ever stayed in such a nice hotel. I loved how big this place was. There was multiple restaurants to eat at just within the hotel. And attached the a casino so you never have to leave if you don't want to. However, we did. We walked everywhere. Could walk to any time of activity or restaurant in 30 minutes basically. The rooms were clean. The bathrooms were great. Valet was nice. The staff was so nice. The food/drinks in the restaurant were great.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a wonderful experience at the Marriott Hotel at Park Casino! The service was absolutely immaculate from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. A special thank you to Arlina, who was so kind and accommodating—she helped us with our room and even assisted us with an upgrade to make my brother’s birthday extra special. We’ve never experienced such genuine, caring energy before—it honestly didn’t even feel like we were in Vancouver, as people here are rarely that warm and thoughtful. Her hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable. We are so grateful and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend! And our room!!!!!! Chefs kiss 😩💕🙏🏼🙏🏼

Coffee shop
Cafe
Revolver is a renowned coffee shop located in the trendy Gastown area of Vancouver. Established by four brothers who drew inspiration from their travels to various international coffee hotspots, Revolver has become a focal point for coffee culture in the city since its opening in 2011. The shop prides itself on its ethical and fair-trade fresh-to-order coffee, as well as a selection of delectable baked goods.
Great cafe. They have taken the experience to the next level. You can get an espresso flight. I've never seen that before but a couple of more times in Vancouver. You'll get two espresso shots and two cortado to understand the different flavors. Also, the cake and cookies were tasty and worth to try. Really good spot for coffee lovers but also for beginners who want to test new things.
Felix — Google review
This is a coffee lovers coffee shop! I had an amazing latte (absolutely perfect) and my friend loved their espresso tasting flight. They have a small but concentrated menu - mostly featuring coffee (and a single tea option). Staff were lovely. Would definitely return here and highly recommend it to coffee lovers.

This cafe is a coffee conoisseur must. My cappuccino was smooth, rich and well-balanced. The brick wall and added decor emits an industrial, hip vibe. The staff was very friendly, including Chris, one of the co-owners. You can tell how passionate he is at his craft. I purchased a coffee upon his recommendation which he let me sample. I will certainly return in the near future. Thank you!

A must visit artisan Coffee shop in downtown Vancouver. This Coffee shop is also listed as the most popular in Vancouver. They have a very balanced menu with enough but not too many coffee style options which makes it easier to order. They also have the drip coffee option that takes around 4 minutes to prepare freshly. The staff have to be the nicest people you will find who explain everything with a smile. The coffee was distinctively nice with balanced flavor. The decor is chic and gives both a historic and contemporary artistic vibe. There is plenty of seating available, suitable for groups of four. There is also some seating available to the front glass wall of the cafe. Highly recommended.

Revolver is a *must visit* for us whenever we are in Vancouver & is—without question—one of Vancouver’s *best* stops for coffee lovers! The place is always hopping but they handle the line efficiently while not compromising their high standards for tasty lattes We each had two lattes at our last visit this past End-of-Summer weekend and it is worth it to wait for one of the booths to open up. The warm brick & wood grant a peaceful atmosphere for savoring your drink while people watching the constant parade of beautiful faces & trendy fashion We loved their music selection too! The baristas are friendly & take their craft seriously, serving consistently delicious drinks from cup to cup, shift to shift, visit to visit Revolver is clearly a coffee-centric cafe They are also in an excellent GasTown location with smash burgers across the street & gelato around the corner 👌 What’s not to like!? HIGHLY recommended 🤗

Came for the flat white. One of the best we have had in Vancouver but coffee and milk taste was both mellow and neither stood out. Texture was also on the watery side. For the almond croissant, it was served straight from the shelf. Although not heated, it was pretty good in taste and the filling was just the right amount and strength of almond taste. Wished the croissant was more crispy but it was delicious overall. Seating area was spacious and it was easy to get a seat.

Did I just say, this is one of the my top 5 favourite cafes in Vancouver? Yup and you’ll have to try their brews to tell. There’s only a few options on the menu but most are pretty solid. And I’d always pair it with their salted chocolate chip cookie.

Cafe Medina is a popular spot in Vancouver known for its luxurious and contemporary design, offering an eclectic daytime menu with unique waffle toppings. The cafe serves up Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, along with a variety of coffees, teas, cocktails, wines, and beers. It's a bustling brunch spot with French roots and offers traditional dishes like couscous and cassoulet alongside breakfast plates featuring items such as merguez sausage and smoked salmon.
We had the paella and pork sandwich. The pork was crispy, soft and tender at the same time. Probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. The foccacia bread was so delicious as well. The waffle is amazing, probably one of the best waffles as well. Come to this spot 🚀

We were a group of six and had to wait almost two hours, even though the estimated wait time was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The staff made up for it with a nice gesture, offering us free coffee and a waffle. I ordered the fricassee, and it was delicious! The braised rib was definitely the highlight of the dish, tender and flavorful. But the real star of Medina Café is their waffle. I honestly can’t tell you how much I loved it, crispy, buttery, and perfectly paired with their toppings. Definitely a must-try!
Amin S — Google review
We tried two dishes — one with lots of mushrooms and sunny-side-up eggs that had a new, slightly sour taste but was overall satisfying. The other was a steak dish with eggs and greens — the dressing was definitely the highlight of that one. The best part of our brunch, though, was the mocha! Made with milk chocolate and lavender, it was unique and delicious. Overall, it was a good experience for an easy Monday, but I’d say it’s not quite worth waiting in line for on the weekend.

I really loved this place! From the moment I called to ask about their gluten free options, I spoke with the owner, who mentioned his wife is also celiac, and right away I knew I would be in good hands. That level of understanding and care made such a difference. When we arrived, the owner was so warm and welcoming. He took the time to get to know us and personally recommended the Wolves Breakfast, which was incredible, especially if you are looking for a high-protein option. The matcha latte was also so good and really well made. I was told the waffle is a must-try as well. The only thing I’ll say is that besides the Wolves breakfast - there’s not much more gluten free offerings. Highly recommend Medina for a cozy breakfast with an atmosphere built on positivity, genuine hospitality, and great food. A true Vancouver gem.

food hits that sweet spot between comfort and creativity, and the flavours are consistently on point. Their brunch classics are famous for a reason, and the waffles with dipping sauces are basically a Vancouver rite of passage. The space has that lively, cozy energy that makes you want to linger a bit longer. Service is quick, friendly, and they handle the rush well. If you’re in the mood for a brunch that actually feels worth the line, Medina is still the move.

Wait is crazy long, we waited an hour for a spot at 10am on a Sunday! Food is good but everything was spicy! The waffles are definitely the star of the show, great texture and great taste. We also got the paella and lamb meatballs and they were okay. Would recommend definitely getting a waffle!
Rachel W — Google review
At opening time on Saturday morning there is a 50 person line, but it was worth the short wait. By 9:15 we were seated. I was amazed by the extreme efficiency in which this place handled the amount of people, but still providing excellent service! The coffee and waffles are absolutely delicious and you should definitely try it! For main we choose to share the Wolf Platter, which has a bunch of different things. I personally liked the steak (and sauce) the bacon, potatoes and eggs the best, but it was cool to try 3 different types of sausage as well.
Benjamin K — Google review
I'd heard from a local that this spot is not necessarily overrated and worth a visit. It is on the Michelin guide which makes it exceptionally popular, even for a brunch spot. Expect a wait. The Moroccan sausage shakshuka is what I tried, and it was a good bit of heat to wake you up on the morning. Medina is known for its waffles which I also tried and did not disappoint. Light and fluffy, Belgian-style, but on the smaller side, so order multiple if you are visiting primarily for those. Would recommend for a strong breakfast or brunch. Get there early if possible.

Granville Island Public Market is a bustling indoor market offering a wide array of gourmet food stalls, artisan boutiques, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Situated near the Plaza of Nations, visitors can conveniently access the market via Aquabus or False Creek Ferries. The market's proximity to attractions like Science World museum and transportation hubs such as Yaletown-Roundhouse SkyTrain station makes it an ideal stop for both locals and tourists.
An iconic covered public market that is part of the tourist attractions around Vancouver city. The market has local vendors selling fresh farm produce, coffees, baked items, meat and fish, as well as some artistic works. There are also plenty of Chinese food shops. The market also has famous doughnut and coffee shops for which people are lining up. The market is quite large and can take up to an hour for browsing and shopping. The main activity around here is to get something to eat from these shops. The market can easily be accessed by car, or a more touristy way is to take the boat bus and small ferries from a lot of spots in Vancouver downtown. Highly recommend a visit to this market.

I can never get enough of the tourist trap stops in Vancouver. Granville island is always a favorite. We love walking the island or taking the water taxis up into the harbor and walking back to Granville or taking another water taxi back. The water, architecture, and views are amazing. I love this city. Truly one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

A must when you visit Vancouver, so many shops, stores, restaurants and the food court is fabulous. You can try seafood, cheese, cured meats, sandwiches, savory pies, fruit pies and breads and pastries to to mention iconic fish and chips. There is also a deck that has musicians so nice place to relax and enjoy your goodies. The shops feature local artist and have specialties such as a lavender and goat milk body care shop, art by First Nation people as well as jewelry and local crafts showcased. Although called Granville Island you can drive there. There are also fun tourist ferries to take if you want to give the kids a treat!

Granville Island Market is such a beautiful spot to explore, full of colors, fresh food and local art. It’s definitely expensive, so most people just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere rather than buying much. Still, it’s one of those places that feels worth visiting at least once.

An old industrial community has been renewed as a public market area! 1. If you wanna walk from BC downtown, Google map will play with you. It will say it will take only 15-20 mins to get there but it is only true if you are brave enough to jump off the bridge which is nearly 30m high. Take a bus, or rainbow ferry. 2.market offers small community of shops. Some good, some.... I would say ok. 3. Small food court is there but hard to find a seat so be quick about it if you do not have strong legs. This place is worth visiting especially knowing the history of it. Will be more crowded if you can access there from the bridge by walk without killing yourself.

Lively and colorful spot with so much to see, taste, and take in. The food stalls are full of fresh local produce, baked goods, cheeses, seafood, and snacks from all over. It’s fun just walking through and taking it all in. The smells, the sounds, the mix of people all add to the experience. Great place to grab a bite, pick up something unique, or just enjoy the atmosphere by the water. Feels like a little world of its own.

Granville Island Public Market is a fantastic spot, especially for tourists looking to explore something unique. It offers a wide variety of specialty foods, fresh produce, local art, handmade crafts, and other one-of-a-kind items. As a local, I like to visit occasionally, either to see what's new or to bring friends visiting from abroad. The atmosphere is vibrant and enjoyable, though dining in the market can be a bit challenging. It’s often very crowded, especially during peak seasons like summer when cruise ships dock at Vancouver Waterfront, or around major holidays like Christmas and New Year. Finding a seat can be a bit of a dilemma. You're often stuck deciding whether to grab food first or find a place to sit. Parking is another downside. It’s expensive and limited. If you plan to stay for a while, public transit is definitely the better option. Despite a few inconveniences, it's a lively and memorable place that many people will find interesting and worth visiting.

I recently spent an afternoon exploring the marina area near Granville Island Public Market, and it was a wonderful experience. The marina is beautiful, with rows of sailboats and kayaks lined up against the sparkling water, creating a picturesque and relaxing scene. A great park space is nearby where people gather to sit on the grass, picnic, or just take in the view, perfect for unwinding on a sunny day. Granville Island Public Market is the real highlight. It offers a fantastic selection of fresh seafood, baked goods, and artisan products, making it an ideal spot for dinner or to stock up on unique treats. There are also plenty of little shops and galleries to browse through if you’re in the mood to shop for local crafts. If you’re looking for a bit of adventure, there are harbor cruises and even seal tours departing right from the marina, adding a fun and memorable experience to your visit. This area is a gem, full of vibrant energy, great food, and stunning scenery. Highly recommend spending an afternoon or evening here!

Granville Island is a charming cultural and artistic hub in Vancouver, known for its daily public market featuring over 50 food vendors. The island underwent a major transformation in the 1970s, turning from a polluted industrial site into one of Vancouver's most beloved attractions. Visitors can explore artisan studios, cozy cafes, and a two-level kids market. The bustling public market offers an array of goods including fresh produce, local eats, crafts, and more.
We walked to the island from Kitsilano via the beach front, which is definitely worth doing, the island itself is very tourists driven, however it is also a popular shopping area, for locals, we loved just walking around taking it all in there are many galleries to enjoy as well as the souvenir shops. All in all wonderful experience.

My experience at Granville Island was wonderful! Granville Island is a unique spot with a lot of character, though my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. As someone with no sense of direction, I found the layout of the island a little challenging to navigate. The network of alleys, industrial-style buildings, and indoor/outdoor market spaces had me doing a few loops! The gloomy, overcast weather that day didn't help, casting a slightly subdued and industrial feel over the place. However, the heart of the island is undoubtedly the Public Market. It's a vibrant hub bursting with life, where I loved wandering past the fantastic food stands and unique artisan stores. The location right on the water is a major plus. Being next to the pier made it incredibly easy for us to take a scenic ferry ride directly to downtown Vancouver, which was a highlight. I arrived fairly early on a weekday, so it was much less crowded than I had anticipated. The downside was that several restaurants were still closed until nearer to noon.

Most Visited It’s easy to see why this place draws so many people — it has that mix of light, sound, and life that just pulls you in. On a sunny day, the waterfront feels golden, with sailboats drifting past and music from the market carrying through the air. The outdoor shops are great for a slow wander, and inside the market there’s food from every corner of the world. And if you love cheese, the little cheese shop is a must.

Sept. 19/25: Haven’t been here for a long time as parking is limited and all pay. It’s too bad because it’s definitely a tourist destination and I’m sure the many businesses would appreciate more parking. The public market is a draw with its vast array of everything gourmand, sights and sounds enticing. Lee’s Donuts is a big draw here, look up for the filled donuts as the brightly coloured iced donuts are displayed in front at people level. Fresh filled cappaletta, fresh basil, variety of cheeses and pastry was purchased. Everything looks very fresh but not light on the wallet.

A lot of unique shops and vendors. Most shops weren't open yet when we came so we couldn't explore much. People there are friendly and welcoming. Some were not. A lot of the souvenir items were pricer than other places in Vancouver.

Granville Island is a wonderful place to spend the day! It has a wide variety of shops, bakeries, and restaurants offering something for everyone. You’ll find everything from toys for kids and pet supplies to handmade jewelry, clothing, unique gifts, crafts, paintings, and more. It’s also home to several theaters, and there are always cultural events happening — like plays, dance performances, and live concerts. It’s a very complete and vibrant place, perfect for locals and tourists alike. Getting there is easy too — whether by car, bus, sea taxi, or even on foot.

The Museum of Vancouver, located in Vanier Park between Kitsilano Beach and Granville Island, offers a fascinating exploration of the city's history and issues. With a strong collection of First Nations art and artifacts, this independent, non-profit organization aims to deepen understanding through stories and shared experiences. Catering to sub-teens and teens, the museum provides insight into early Vancouver history, from its First Nations past to the neon light phase of the 1950s.
I visited the Museum of Vancouver and really enjoyed it! The exhibits were interesting, well-designed, and full of local history and culture. That said, I was expecting something a bit larger - I thought I’d spend half a day there, but in reality, it took me about 2 hours to see everything. Right next to the museum, there’s also the Maritime Museum, which could be a nice addition to your visit. After that, you can take the ferry to Granville Island - a great place to explore the public market and local restaurants, browse shops with handmade goods. Overall, a lovely and educational stop, just be prepared for a shorter visit than you might expect.

Interesting local museum! Lived in the lower mainland my whole life but visited for the first time as it was included with a book talk I attended. Really enjoyed it and learned many valuable things. I had visited previously as the price seemed a little steep for the size of the museum. However, it’s well curated and has some growing and meaningful Indigenous exhibits, which was great to see.

A great visit! The featured chair exhibit was my favourite, I had no idea so much history could be shared from chairs! The permanent exhibits walk you through the decades, and are extremely interesting and beautifully organized and we'll put together to make a great experience. Highly recommend the visit!

My Dad and I enjoyed our visit to the Museum of Vancouver. We learned so much about the history of the indigenous people of the area and the history of the city of Vancouver and the people that built and make up this vibrant city. The museum itself is laid out in a logical manner between the galleries and is accessible. The galleries are well researched and organized. The art and photographs displayed definitely are great points of references to learn more and understand better the city of Vancouver. This is an excellent museum for an visitor to Vancouver to explore!

A museum dedicated to the history and lifestyle of Vancouver city, it houses the items from yesteryears in chronically arranged way to give a peek of way of living in city through the periods. Entertaining and informative, recomoneded for choldrens and adults alike. There are vending machines downstairs but during my visit, none of them worked, taking payment but not dispensing and returning the amount. The desk was also not helpful in resolution, telling that if the item is not dispensed, the amount will surely refunded. There are no eateries around, nearest being 10~15 mins walk, so prepare accordingly. Also nearest public transport stops are 12 mins away. Parking is easy though. Washrooms are conveniently located and usable.

Came here as a tourist taking the bus. Arrived around 6pm today but found the walking path very dark that I wasn’t sure if there really was a museum in there. I still went through the path which is about an 11 min walk. As I reached the lobby, the vibe didn’t seem to be welcoming, lights dim, place looked old. Wasn’t sure if it’s worth the price, maybe if it was free I’d go. Anyway I decided not to, just walked back to the bus stop and called it a day.

Good local history museum, with special exhibits on rotation (we were there for a "chairs" exhibit). Perhaps a touch pricey for the duration of the stay (this tipped me from 5 stars to 4), but we enjoyed it all the same.

This is an older building with a retro futuristic design like stepping into an architect’s vision of the future from decades ago. It’s very well maintained, and the planetarium dome experience is truly fantastic. The seats show a bit of wear, but nothing that affects the enjoyment. It’s a little pricey, yet absolutely worth visiting. Many people confuse the Dome with the Museum of Vancouver, but they’re not the same. They share the same building in Vanier Park, but the Museum of Vancouver occupies most of it, while the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre runs the planetarium inside the dome.

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, located in Vancouver's historic Chinatown neighborhood, is a serene urban park designed according to Taoist principles. Crafted by 53 Chinese master craftsmen, this garden is a replica of a classical Ming Dynasty Chinese scholars' garden and the first of its kind outside of China. The garden features carefully arranged water, plants, and rocks shipped from China to create an authentic experience.
Quiet & lovely garden in the center of the city. Scavenger hunt for kiddos, plenty of lush bamboo & maples, old bonsai trees & koi ponds. Cafe had neat original artwork for sale. Live classical Chinese musician played in the courtyard and incense wafted while we explored and played with the Buddha boards. Free tea samples and awesome gift shop. Definitely worth it. Easy location too, fun walking around Chinatown.

This is a beautiful and relaxing Classical Chinese Garden. We visited on a recent trip. It was $16 to enter as an adult. Inside we could enjoy the walk and relaxing atmosphere. They offered free tea and there was a room with a few traditional Chinese activities to learn or try. The Garden neighbours a park by almost the same name. The Park is free to enter, and if you were just looking for a taste of the experience, you could do that at no cost. The Garden looks over the pond that is shared by both the paid garden and the free park. Spent about 1 hour total between the 2. The exit is through a lovely gift shop.
Alyssa B — Google review
It’s a calm and pleasant spot in an otherwise noisy town, but since it’s part of an open-entry park, the house itself doesn’t really justify the ticket price. Inside you’ll only find some Chinese-style furniture—unclear whether authentic or just styled to look old—arranged in a very bare interior with an equally plain garden. If you’ve ever seen original Chinese homes, you’ll find this one strikingly empty; if you haven’t, it may give you a very basic idea of how they look. The most interesting moment had nothing to do with the house at all: I watched a heron catch a fish from the pond right in front of me. It was extraordinary, something I had never seen so close before. That alone was beautiful. Otherwise, don’t bother paying for the entrance. Just walk behind the statue and you’ll enter the park for free. Nothing inside is worth your time.

Visited June 2025. During our walk around Chinatown, we came across this garden. We walked through a store and out the back door and ended up here. This was a great surprise in an overall depressing situation in the area. The garden is very peaceful to walk around and take in nature right in the middle of the city.

A peaceful place to soothe your peace, I visited the park and classic garden (entry fee) . I came here a few days after my dad's funeral. This has serenity away from the city life beyond the walls.

This place was so cute to stop in while exploring Chinatown. A little oasis in what is kind of a rougher part of the city. We just did the public portion, not the ticketed part, but we saw plenty of lovely botanicals and hidden paths and picture spots. Definitely worth a walk!!

Beautiful mature Chinese garden, well designed. Very popular place in the Chinatown area. A wonderfully designed walled garden, an oasis in the middle of the city. Maintenance is pretty decent. Worth the price of admission.

Beautiful, peaceful and free garden access. There's also a paid portion as well that I recommend checking out as the design, building materials and construction techniques are from the Ming Dynasty.

Cantonese restaurant
Chinatown BBQ in Vancouver offers a comfortable and casual atmosphere where you can savor authentic Chinese BBQ dishes like BBQ pork, BBQ duck, curry beef brisket, and more. Located in the heart of Chinatown on East Pender Street, this gem is known for its traditional barbecued meats prepared by chefs trained in Chinese cooking styles. The menu features options such as soy sauce chicken and gai lan with garlic oil.
The food dazzled our taste buds with a remarkable five-star experience. Each dish was a delightful masterpiece, bursting with flavor and creativity. While the service was decent, it didn't quite match the excellence of the cuisine. The atmosphere was acceptable, and we didn't mind it as long as the food continued to impress. However, we found that the waitstaff could benefit from being a bit more attentive; after all, a good meal deserves attentive service, especially when it comes to tipping at the end.

I’m originally from Asia and I can say that the food is good and authentic!! I love it!! It’s gooooood and reminds me of home!!! And it’s a reasonably priced!! The service is definitely above and beyond!!! Waiters are so nice, accommodating, and helpful!! Atmosphere is amazing!!! Modern, well furnished, and clean!!! We got the jellyfish, curry balls, and gai lan for appetizers and (bbq) duck, 3 kinds of meat (char siu, crispy pork, and hainan chicken)

The house special four-treasure bbq rice is so so authentic and delicious! The bbq pork & crispy pork are especially good. Beef curry tastes great too. All reminds me of the delicious food I had when travelling in Hong Kong (maybe even better)! Generous portion. Price is fair. Restaurant ambience is quite unique too. Will come again when I crave Hong Kong style BBQ!

Delicious meal and friendly service. We had the three types of BBQ meats (roast pork/soy chicken/BBQ pork), daily soup and a small side dish of jellyfish. Love the crispy skin of the roast pork and the tender soy chicken. The retro decorations brought me back to the good old days. Really enjoyed our lunch here. Got quite a bit of leftover to bring back home. Will return for sure. 👍 😋

TLDR; probably not the best choice if you’re vegetarian. We came for lunch and were able to get seats right away. The booth seating is def itself most popular though, and for good reason! We ordered the Gai Lan with Roasted Garlic Crisp Oil, Vegetable Egg Fried Rice and the Signature chef’s plate between the two of us and let me just say, that’s a lot of food. This is definitely a spot that is good value for your money. The meat was cooked really well, the sauce that the gin lai was in was absolutely delicious and very flavorful. The vegetable fried rice is definitely more plain but it is warm and hearty.

Food was amazing - the roasted pork was fresh out of kitchen and sooo crispy and the fat just melt in our mouth. It’s probably the best roasted pork I’ve had in this part of the world. Service was amazing too - our waiter was so pleasant and considerate of our kids bringing them water instead of tea; and forks instead of chopsticks. The toilets were clean. I’m definitely coming back!

Lovely BBQ store in the Chinatown area. A modern but also traditional atmosphere surprises me when I'm inside. I love their roast pork; the skin is perfectly crispy and airy. The pork belly is balanced between meat and fat. Soy chicken is also tasty, and the meat texture is not mushy like some restaurants. And a shout out to the staff, as I came at last call, but no one rushed me for anything, and he would even clean up a table so I could take a picture.
Tien N — Google review
Chinatown BBQ has always been my go-to spot, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently amazing, and the service is always spot on. But this time, I was especially impressed by the BBQ duck. The server kindly offered to warm it up before serving, and that extra touch gave it a smoky, elevated flavor that took it to the next level—it’s easily the best BBQ duck I’ve ever had. The BBQ pork fried rice was great as usual, but the duck totally stole the show! I’ll definitely be coming back. Pro tip: ask them to warm up the duck—it really makes a difference!

Additionally, PiDGiN has been recognized for its excellence in the culinary scene, with chef Angus Ans Maenam being declared a champion.
Absolute banger of a dinner! Jess and Sarah (I think), we're amazing in helping us select dishes, expand the offerings to fit the head count. While they do offer a tasting menu we decide to just order multiple dishes to share and managed to eat all of the desserts. This was the best meal we had while visiting Vancouver.

Enjoyed a wonderful night at Pidgin, the staff were all so warm and welcoming. We opted for the tasting menu and were seated right next to the kitchen where we got a front row seat to all the magical creations. The food was divine, even tried a few flavors we have never had before. Also a bonus was that they extended an offer to make the tasting menu fully vegan, even though their website only mentions vegetarian. They were so accommodating and we all had a great night! Will be back to try the 10pm burger time!
Katie M — Google review
This place has a lot of mixed reviews. Not many fine dining Asian fusion places so naturally as a person who has tried a bunch of Michelin star restaurants and all the high end places of Vancouver I had to try out. The food was mostly pretty but the taste and coherence of the flavours was atrocious. 250$ meal was the worst i ever had unfortunately. First off oysters are oysters I guess, fresh and normal. Duck was super chewy but was good, you practically had to gnaw at it out go for a full bite. Octopus was super chewy overcooked. Papaya salad was strange… peanut sauce with papaya but no meat so was like having half a salad roll Tofu was petty awful, inch thick layer of xo sauce oil with some soft tofu and mushrooms, super greasy and just tasted salty Beef empanadas were not edible, wayyyyyyy too salty like they dropped a tea spoon of salt into a tiny 11$ empanada. Trout was undercooked, not flaky, skin so chewy and not pan fried so it was like chewing gum. Flavour of the sauce did not work at all with the dish. Beef cheek was cooked perfectly but they literally forgot to season it so tasted like nothing. Whereas the rendang was overly salty and pungent. Dessert was good, ice cream had good flavour but the meringue was way too sweet for it. Overall a very poor experience considering for just a bit more you could have Anna Lena or Burdock instead. Maybe if they slashed the price 75% then it would meet the quality it deserves. But I guess the food looks pretty

Came here with our group of 4 so we were able to order a variety of dishes. Loved most of the dishes and not the mention the service was excellent and the servers were knowledgeable. Oysters were fresh with garnish that complemented the flavor Beef tendon chicharron were so fresh and crispy that we had a second order - can’t miss this!! Kimchi croquette was a surprise and was very well prepared with the right amount of crunch Ox tongue skewers were tasty, but personally would have preferred it a bit of crispiness to the bite. Overall with the sambal sauce added the savory flavor Octopus skewers with the puree was on the milder side, but the octopus was very tender Hokkaido scallops was better without the coconut cream as it took away the true flavor of the scallops Roti canai was piping hot and flaky and paired with the rich flavors of dipping sauce is making my mouth water as I’m typing this. We had to place a second order of this as well Korean rice cake had a bit of twist from the traditional flavor with the crunch from the hazelnut and wasn’t spicy or tangy, and still hit the spot Foie gras rice bowl was nicely seared. The chestnut and daikon lightened the richness of the foie gras and went well with the dish Beef cheeks were super tender. The parsnip purée and confit carrots added freshness to the rendang sauce Their special pasta dish with shitake mushroom and an onsen egg was one of my favorite that evening We closed the night off with the pavlova pandan sorbet and quince tart

An outstanding meal with exceptionally thoughtful service. We found every dish to be so well-crafted, flavorful and tasty, and the sake flights were creative and well-balanced. For two tasting menus and drinks, the price was very reasonable, and we’re excited to come back next time we visit Vancouver!

$200 meal and i left unsatisfied --- i even got uber eats when i got home 😐. I agree with the previous review about the tasting menu being underwhelming. Several people in our party wanted to add *more* food to the order and didnt feel the portions were satisfying. Personally, i wanted to leave more than once ... what are you doing here, guys??! I ask this sincerely... i have only spent more $$$ at Black and Blu and its a better value for the money, even if steaks are $50/ounce... 🤨🤨🤨🤨

Generally speaking the food is delicious, especially the sauce!!!! Tbh for the price point, i’d give it 4.6 stars We got kimchi croquettes(2) , scallops, duck empanada(1), sablefish, and pork belly rice bowl. Everything is good except for the pork belly rice bowl; the seasoning is ok and the pork is kinda dry.

Absolute STUNNER of a meal. My partner is vegan and I am quite an adventurous meat eater. They had plenty of options for both of us including a vegan and non-vegan tasting. We opted for A la Cart. The roti is a must have with a savory coconut curry sauce. The foie unagi bowl has a whopping portion of foie gras and is extremely hearty and tasty. Would also highly recommend the eggplant skewers. The green papaya salad was very good, and has an umami-rich vegan "fish" sauce caramel dressing. Booked same day on a Monday and this place definitely deserves to be busier during the week. Make sure to order a Sake flight while you dine, the staff really know their stuff. 10/10 food and service!

Pho Goodness is a popular Vietnamese spot in Vancouver, known for its delicious pho and traditional dishes like banh mi, noodle bowls, and rice dishes. The restaurant offers a variety of salad rolls, with the House Special Roll being a standout choice. The pho at Pho Goodness is consistently high quality with strong flavors, and their side dishes like grilled beef short ribs are also delicious.
Delicious Pho, best I have eaten. Portions were big and generous. Very clean shop and nice staff. Meant to add photo but my bowl was already emptied.

This place has the best pho in Vancouver. Don't listen to anyone else. If they haven't tried here then they don't know. I've been to all the other recommended ones and then some ,around Vancouver and this place is ....heavenly broth. 😍🤌🏽

We stay on Davie whenever we're on the mainland so we find food here and Pho Goodness is our go to place for Vietnamese meals. We've been going, eating here for years with no issues. It tastes good every time. We usually order pho soup in the winter and rice and vermicelli dishes in the summer. All delicious. Atmosphere may not be the best but who really comes here for fancy dandy. At least they leveled up their plating, they're very appealing and photogenic lately. Prices are still fare despite inflation and competition. Highly recommended. Go visit on your next pho craving 🤤

- one of the most pronounced, better Bun Bo Hue herb tastes out there. Although the broth was a little too heavy, like msg heavy, I really enjoyed the broth. Bun Bo Hue was $15.75. - while the Bun Bo Hue broth was a little too strong, the $16 "Pho Dac Biet" broth was a little too mild. The ingredients were ok. Apart from the mildness, no other complaints from family, which is good. - my Bun Bo Hue didn't have pig knuckles or blood curds, but it did had meatballs and beef briskets. The amount wasn't much but fair for a $15.75 price tag. I am content. - the $9.95 "Ga Chien" or deep fried chicken wings were ok. Small but ok. Deep fried yet moist. It consisted of 3 whole wings, including chicken tips - 6 parts in total. .

Cute place. The food is decent. The pho broth is on the salty side so I didn't end up drinking much of it. Decent amount of beef though I suggest going with #20 the house special as it comes with a heafty amount of proteins for only an extra 50 cents. FYI if you go with children there is no kids menu or smaller sizes. They do have high chairs but no booster seats.

Looked really small at the entrance, but it was a lot roomier past the counter! Nice clean vibe, service was friendly and quick, and the food was tasty. Wanted to order the mango salad but it was out of season so the papaya salad was recommended instead, and it was delicious, if rather heavy on the fish sauce

I cannot get over these salad rolls - they are the best I’ve ever had. Peanut sauce is delicious, and the portion is huge and I particularly love the pork one. I’ve come back multiple times for these salad rolls, and they are well priced considering what many other places are charging. I also had the wonton soup and it was delicious, super flavourful broth which I wasn’t expecting. The service is quick and friendly, nothing too fancy. Place can get quite busy at lunch time so I prefer to go around 1:00 during the week.

Hundy, located in Yaletown, Vancouver, is a trendy spot known for its delicious burgers and chicken sandwiches. The restaurant also features a hidden speakeasy concept for a unique dining experience. Visitors often find the atmosphere to be aesthetically pleasing and enjoy the fresh and tasty food. While some wish for more seating in the main area instead of the speakeasy, others appreciate that they can take their food to go.
Went here for lunch/dinner. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich, bacon cheese burger, and poutine. My husband loved the burger and said it was one of the best burgers he's had. The fried chicken sandwich was really flavorful as well. I'd probably go back...

If you’re the type who always finds yourself thinking “I wish there were more 🥒” halfway through a 🍔—☝️ is your spot. Their burgers are juicy, flavorful, and loaded with pickles just the way I like it. 🍟 are crispy and addictive, and the Hundy IPA is my favorite pairing. 🍸Also, there’s a private door at the back… those who know, know. Great vibes, great food. Highly recommend!

We ordered a cheeseburger, a bacon cheeseburger, and a side of fries. I was really looking forward to trying this spot after reading some great reviews. While the fries were delicious — crispy and perfectly seasoned — the burgers didn’t quite meet our expectations. The patties were dry, and there was a slight off smell that made me question the freshness of some ingredients. I ended up not finishing mine, which was disappointing. That said, the atmosphere was nice, and I appreciated the option of beer and wine on the menu. I might stop by again for a drink and some fries, but I’ll probably skip the burgers next time.
Seoyoung K — Google review
The first time I came here I was blown away, they had a spicy special burger, and it was amazing. Even though there was a plastic cheese divider in my burger it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The second time I came it was very average, the chicken burger was small, the fries were standard and a little bland. The taste was a little above average but nothing special. The third time I got the birira fries and they were ok, but the portion was nothing impressive and the fries have a kind of A and W pasty quality, which doesn’t bother me but they’re not much better than average fast food fries. It could have used more toppings and sauce as well. There’s also a bit of a wait to get the food even though I’ve been the only person in the restaurant twice so if you’re in a rush just know it won’t be quick. I’ll give it 4 even though most of my experiences were closer to a 3, just because that first burger was so good, but I won’t be coming back unless they have it.

The Hundy Cheeseburger was very good, but my wife and I were surprised how awesome we found the Cabbage Salad. We returned the next day for another salad.

Was really excited but unfortunately was quite let down. There was one couple that arrived before us, and three parties came in after we ordered to pick up takeout. We ordered two bacon, one was a combo. I swear it took like 25 minutes to get our order. Flies were just flying in the center of the space and the food was absolutely not worth the hype. Two burgers, one with an extra patty and one was a combo came out to 50$. The burgers were bland, not saucy, not juicy, and just overall really disappointing.
Laura — Google review
Sad to say I had a bit of a rubbish time there last night. I felt bad for the staff, they were clearly on the back foot dealing with a tricky order they’d got wrong with a previous customer and delivery drivers going in and out, but after waiting quite a long time for our food (the server was very apologetic, no probs, they were clearly busy) we had to send back our poutine fries as they were stone cold and we didn’t have time to wait for a new batch. After quite a bit of back and forth it turns out they didn’t have a manager key to issue a refund for the fries (happy to keep the burgers though, they were delicious). I really wish the team up front just told me that instead of trying to push back saying things like because we’d had a bite they couldn’t accept them back? In the end I just said I’d put them in the microwave when we got home, but I just came away feeling like I’d had an argument and I didn’t really understand why. The burgers were SO GOOD though damn.

One of the best fried chicken sandwiches I’ve had in a while! We also got the Oklahoma burger and it was super tasty. Fries were nice and fresh, with their Hundy sauce, perfect. But the cabbage salad, was to die for. Plus, they have Pibb. Wish I could give Hundy a higher rating, so good.

Nestled in the vibrant Kitsilano neighborhood, Vanier Park is a picturesque destination that offers breathtaking views of both the ocean and Vancouver's skyline. This charming park is not just about stunning scenery; it’s also home to several cultural gems including the Museum of Vancouver, the H.R. MacMillan Space Sciences Centre, and the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Visitors can easily stroll between these attractions thanks to the park's flat terrain and accessible pathways.
Beautiful park all year round. The park is huge and spacious, there’s lots of room to fly kites or throw a ball. I’ve seen people do yoga, practice swordsmanship, boot camps and play live music among many other things. The city views are unbeatable and you can take a ferry across the inlet to downtown. The Museum of Vancouver and H.R. MacMillan Space Centre are in the park as well. Both are a genuinely good time and worth seeing.

I have often visited this park, and almost always, I see a lot of geese and ducks (sometimes nearly a hundred birds) on the big green lawn and in the lake. In spring, little goslings and ducklings also appear there. But the most amazing thing is that a small lake near the Planetarium gets covered with white lilies in the summer.

Great place to go for a walk, jog, run etc. The view of the skyline is stunning and the best part is the beach. There's also a museum and sky observatory nearby. One of the best places to hang around near downtown Vancouver.

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
Lions Gate Bridge, a landmark suspension bridge in Vancouver, offers stunning city views and features a pedestrian walkway. Spanning 1,517.3 meters from Downtown to North Vancouver, the bridge stands at a height of 61 meters and provides an unobstructed vantage point for admiring sunset colors over the ocean. Accessible from Stanley Park or its North-end, visitors can explore walkways and platforms on the West-side for optimal viewing opportunities.
The suspension bridge is absolutely majestic and gives a solid, secure feeling when you walk across it. On both sides of the bridge, there are dedicated cycling paths, making it easy and enjoyable for cyclists. You can start from Prospect Point Lookout and ride your bike downhill directly to the entrance of the bridge’s bike lane, where you’ll be treated to stunning scenic views along the way.

Pretty decent bridge for riding across, except there are some narrow parts where you should ride single file. We witnessed someone trying to pass another rider and instead crashed into an immovable object… the bridge.
Frank B — Google review
Lions Gate Bridge is an iconic symbol of Vancouver and a living monument to the Great Depression era. It opened to motor traffic on November 14, 1938 (pedestrians were allowed two days earlier). The project was financed by the Guinness family through British Pacific Properties to open up North Shore lands for development—fueling the rapid growth of West Vancouver. In 1939 King George VI’s motorcade crossed the bridge; in 1955 the province bought it, and in 1963 the toll was removed. In 2004 it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada. The south entrance is flanked by Art Deco lion statues by sculptor Charles Marega—a nod to the mountain peaks The Lions, which gave the bridge its name. The main span is about 472 m (1,548 ft), the towers ~118 m (387 ft); at its opening it was the longest suspension bridge in the British Empire. Decorative lighting for Expo ’86 was again funded by the Guinness family—another touch from the city’s benefactors Aleks recommends👍❗️

Review of Lions Gate Bridge – Vancouver’s Iconic Gateway Crossing the Lions Gate Bridge is one of the most visually stunning experiences in Vancouver. Whether heading north toward the lush slopes of Grouse Mountain and the hills of West Vancouver or south into downtown, flanked by the towering trees of Stanley Park, the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. On clear days, the green waters of Burrard Inlet shimmer on either side, making the journey feel like a postcard come to life. The bridge is more than just a crossing—it’s a moment of transition between the urban and the wild, the city and the sea. It can be enjoyed not only by vehicle but also on foot or by bike. Walking across gives you a chance to fully take in the surrounding views—just be aware that the pedestrian path is quite narrow. If a cyclist is passing, it can get tight, so caution is needed. That said, the beauty comes with a price. Traffic during rush hours can be intense, and any accident can bring things to a near standstill. In such moments, the iconic charm of the bridge can feel more like a bottleneck. Still, despite its traffic woes, Lions Gate Bridge remains one of the most scenic and symbolic landmarks in the region—a must-experience whether you are a local or a visitor.
Reza S — Google review
I took these pictures and video while I was cycling on the bridge. One point about this bridge for cyclists and walkers is that the lane from north side of the bridge to the south has more uphill than the other side. Only when walking on the bridge you can see the magnificence of engineering.

Very beautiful bridge ! The Lions Gate Bridge, opened in 1938 and officially known as the First Narrows Bridge, is a suspension bridge that crosses the first narrows of Burrard Inlet and connects the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, to the North Shore municipalities of the District of North Vancouver, the City of North Vancouver, and West Vancouver. The term "Lions Gate" refers to the Lions, a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver. Northbound traffic on the bridge heads in their general direction. A pair of cast concrete lions, designed by sculptor Charles Marega, were placed on either side of the south approach to the bridge in January 1939.

This place is magical. Lots of trails and absolute breathtaking nature beauty everywhere you look. Plus, a fantastic and well organized salvage dam facility and fish way to preserve the salmon migration and health of the species all year round. You can also look at the salmons jumping off the water going upstream against the strong water flow. They're always visible through the glasses downstairs in the dedicated area for salmon observation room. Can't help to take non-stop pictures and videos to capture all the beauty and intersting things this place has to offer. If you want to learn more about salmons and how they're preserved and protected, this is the place to go. Plus, it's completely free! A must-see place for a nice summer afternoon in the area.

Awesome place to watch Coho and Chinook power up the fish ladder and get a fun, easy intro to how the hatchery works—those exhibits and viewing windows are super engaging for all ages. The model displays are great, but the explanations weren’t very clear or seemed to miss details, and a clearer demo on how to tell the salmon species apart would really help. More straightforward signs at each viewing window would make the experience even better. It does get pretty packed during peak runs and on weekends, though. There’s also a beautiful trail right next door for a peaceful walk after watching the salmon. Bottom line: it’s a fantastic spot to see salmon powering up and leaping the ladder.
Amy W — Google review
Great experience for the family and kid friendly. You get to see the salmon swim through a man made upstream that you can see through a glass. Accessible free parking and also closeby to a picnic spot that has many picnic tables and walking distance to the Cleveland Dam through a small trail with stairs.

This is a truly kids and wheelchairs friendly place. We learned a lot from the hatchery and got a chance to walk around the facility to learn about the dam and the fish. Even a two year old can walk on the flat walkway covered by trees along the Capilano river. Great for outdoorsy families who can't go too outdoorsy due to having young kids to be reintroduced to the outdoor life. Great for people who are not outdoorsy to get a taste of outdoorsy life.

Sylvia's Restaurant and Lounge is a classic, comfortable establishment with free Wi-Fi that overlooks English Bay. It is the first pet-friendly hotel in the city, and its resident cat, Mr. Got To Go, inspired three popular children's books by Lois Simmie.
My husband and I stayed at the Sylvia Hotel for 5 nights. It's location was amazing. A 2 minute walk to English Bay. We walked everywhere and did not rent a car until our last day. We didn't need a car. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet for sleeping. They had a bar and restaurant. We enjoyed the happy hour a few times and ate in the restaurant for dinner. The food was delicious. We visited Coal Harbour but hands down we preferred the Sylvia Hotel. Coal Harbour was too busy and congested. We recommend the Sylvia to anyone who wants an active holiday. They r close to everything. If we ever vacation again in Vancouver we will be staying at the Sylvia Hotel. Keeping the $ in Canada. 🇨🇦🇨🇦

We had a great time at the Sylvia. I would love to rate it a 5 however a couple of things keep me from doing so. But first… the check in was great and the people at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel location is second to none and access to the beach area is phenomenal as it is literally across the street in the heart of English Bay. The restaurant is great serving excellent food. The hotel is very pet friendly and they really mean that as there was no issues with having a large dog occupying the hotel. The room was big and easy to get around. The downside is there isn’t air conditioning and since we were there during a hot spell the room was very hot and uncomfortable, especially for our pet, and opening the windows and running the fan that was provided only helped moderately. The other issue was the second elevator was down and appeared to be for a while. Longer waits for a single small elevator proved to be inconvenient at times. Overall outside of these important points and if you can overlook them I would still recommend this hotel.

We thought the Sylvia was the perfect base for exploring Vancouver! Being right on English Bay was ideal - we even had a swim - stayed first week in September. We had a huge room with two queens and a separate single room off it which was perfect for staying with adult children. We had windows on two sides which provided plenty of fresh air which we preferred to aircon. We hired e bikes direct from the hotel and cycled around Stanley Park and along the Seawall. Great options for restaurants just down the street and also for breakfast as a tour group beat us into the hotel breakfast and we only had limited time! Ferry from the end of the bay to Granville Island - great market and food options. We did an incredible whale watching tour with Prince of Whales. Used Ubers to get to and from the hotel. We were really glad we chose to stay here and would highly recommend it, loved that the hotel had character.

Best place by far in the city to celebrate my childhood bestie’s 65th birthday lunch. Hostess Miriam worked her magic to accommodate my early arrival in the lounge (traffic was surprisingly light) and I truly appreciated her professionalism (checking with her colleagues first) and her eagerness to set the tone for a wonderful special occasion (setting up my two flower arrangements on our table and window sill.) Our server was Adello, and my gosh he made us feel like royalty, with double dashes of warmth and personal attention. Adello’s genuine love of being customer focused was top notch, and he has a great sense of humour! The Sylvia Hotel offers nostalgic charm, an extensive menu for all taste buds, and staff that go way above and beyond in ensuring their guests feel appreciated. Thank you so much for surpassing our expectations. The Sylvia Hotel will always be dear to our hearts.
Cynthia F — Google review
We've stayed at the Sylvia many times and cannot say enough about the service. We always treat ourselves to a bit of room service for breakfast (which always arrives hot) and the staff couldn't be more accommodating, pleasant, and frankly delightful. Having an EV charging station is sheer bonus!

The atmosphere and historic charm at the Sylvia hotel make it such a special place. The location is perfect with lots of beautiful spots to walk nearby and only a 10-minute drive to all of Metro Vancouver’s top attractions. The restaurant is excellent, with delicious food and several vegan options to choose from. From both the restaurant and hotel, you can enjoy beautiful ocean views, and the beach is right across the street. The staff are wonderfully warm and welcoming, and the quiet, family-friendly atmosphere makes it the perfect place to relax. This was our second visit, and we’ll definitely be back again.
Cheryl T — Google review
I went to the restaurant and ordered prawns with ravioli sauce—a combination not on the menu, but they kindly agreed to prepare it. The dish turned out to be delicious. A live guitar performance added to the atmosphere and made the experience even more enjoyable. Dining in a building over a hundred years old gave the whole evening a nostalgic charm. There was a picture of an old menu on the wall that I prefer to just look at it without any comment.
Ehsan A — Google review
Let's face it, this is not a new building. The rooms can be small and a bit creaky. But if you go in knowing it's a heritage building, you'll be fine. We stayed a few nights, using it as a home base to explore Stanley Park. Unlike the packed out restaurants in the area, we could always get a table at the Sylvia, no matter how busy they were. Great location, am definitely planning on going again!

AnnaLena is a stylish and modern restaurant offering contemporary Canadian cuisine and creative cocktails. Chef Angus Ans Maenam, the champion from last year, will compete against 16 challengers including Cibo Trattoria, Pidgin, Tableau Bar Bistro, and Wildebeest. The event offers a Dumpling Passport that allows attendees to sample dishes from each participating restaurant.
One of the best Michelin star meals I've ever had overall in terms of value, quality of food, service, and dining time. The high quality and unique flavors of the food were big standouts. There was not a single bad course and I feel like it progressively got better. Service was excellent. They were very prompt with removing finished plates, bringing the next course, and refilling water. Finished 9 total courses (1 complimentary dessert) in just less than 2 hrs. Very efficient. Sommelier was very good at recommending and letting you try wines. For $154CAD for just the food, it's a steal. Small restaurant. Not 5 but 6 stars. Highly recommend

Came here for an anniversary dinner. Truly a creative and well-executed menu and the level of detail was immaculate. The space is smaller than we thought it would be on the inside but it made for a more intimate experience. Also appreciated how there was ample space between tables - I dislike when I feel part of the conversation next to me. Service was attentive and professional as expected but nothing out of the ordinary. Only removing one star as there were a couple of courses that weren’t bad by any means but were also not memorable. However, the courses that were good were VERY good. A special mention for their bread! We were very tempted to ask for another round but we weren’t sure if that was something they would accommodate. Our favourites were the Cheeseburger 2050, the Seafood Lottery, and the cacio e pepe in Don’t Steal the Bunny. The dessert courses were both incredible. I will say though that being served treats on the bottom of a shoe (albeit fake) was a little off-putting, but it didn’t take away from the taste. Cocktails were also good, we tried three different ones and even ordered one of them again. Definitely not an affordable dinner at $150 per person for the set menu alone, but I can confidently say it was worth it and that the price wouldn’t deter me from returning. Would love to return for the next version of their menu.

I went for my birthday and it was phenomenal. This is the second Michelin star tasting menu that I have been to and I can’t wait to dine here again to see what new creations they come up with. We arrived early but it was pouring outside and they were able to get us in right away. We were sat at a booth in a corner that was a bit more intimate than the seating by the bar which we were quite happy about. Every dish that came out was explained in detail by the knowledgeable staff. By course 6 we were satiated but we persevered as the next course was better than the last. At the end they brought out the dessert with a birthday candle which I thought was sweet. Overall the food was delicious, the staff were attentive and friendly and I have already convinced my mom to make a reservation for herself in the coming weeks.

The menu changes every six weeks or so, depending on what’s in season, and that’s part of the fun. Every visit feels like a new chapter, but with one constant: their brioche bread to start. It’s my favourite thing on the menu and they keep reinventing it in the smartest ways. Soft, warm, indulgent, and honestly worth the reservation on its own. This time jt was a cheeseburger. Creative dishes, tight execution, and a team that clearly cares about the details. One of the most reliable and exciting spots in Vancouver

This was our first michelin experience, and boy was it a fun and interesting dining. AnnaLena has a set menu, and we opted for the more expensive caviar and wagyu upgrade. Dishes started great and eventually got a bit too heavy and savory towards the main. I wish there was a break between the savory dishes with perhaps a refreshing and light salad dish. That would have been a solid 5 stars. The service and atmosphere was however top notch. Desserts were very delicious as well. Highly recommended for a special night out with your loved ones.

Amazing dinner and experience! Highly recommend the wine pairing with your meal. We very much enjoyed our dinner here at AnnaLena! It was a fun and whimsical menu that was delightful. To our surprise the meal would start with a twist on a cheese hamburger. We were questioning why the meal would start with such a strong flavor profile... But the wine pairing and everything else that came after made it work magically. They kept us on the toes from the beginning to the end. Kudos to the staff and chefs! Be forewarned the flash on the Polaroid camera 📸 is very bright (inside sneak peek to a surprise (if you are celebrating something).

Amazing food and service. Easily one of the BEST dining experiences I've had (not just in Vancouver but overall). Each dish was complex but perfectly executed and very well balanced in terms of flavors. Each dish left me craving for more. AnnaLena is worthy of their Michelin star. I'll definitely be back.

had an incredible experience at AnnaLena in Vancouver. The tasting menu was outstanding—each dish beautifully balanced and full of creativity. The drink pairings were just as impressive, elevating the meal without ever overpowering it. On top of that, the vibe of the restaurant is spot-on: warm, modern, and energetic with great music that adds to the atmosphere without being distracting. But what truly sets AnnaLena apart is the service. It was genuinely next-level. Every member of the team went out of their way to make the evening special. They weren’t just attentive—they were thoughtful, personable, and clearly passionate about creating an unforgettable experience. The attention to detail in every interaction, big or small, made the night feel exceptional. Overall, AnnaLena delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Vancouver. Highly recommended.

La Belle Patate is a popular Canadian eatery located on Davie Street in Vancouver, known for serving some of the best poutines in the city. Established in 2009, this quick-serve restaurant stays open late and offers a taste of Montreal poutine without leaving Vancouver. The menu features unique poutines, smoked meat, and hot dogs.
Saw this gem on a YT review channel and was surprised it's been right here in town all along! Nice cozy little atmosphere especially when there's a hockey game on the TV (note all the hockey memorabilia on the walls). Can say their poutine is some of the best in town, but they take the cake by having SO MANY variations! The cheese curd\gravy to fries ratio is perfect, no dry fries here :) Also, must try the OBC Steamy dogs, they are worth the upgrade. I heard they have a location in Victoria on the Island as well.

I walked by La Belle Patate. I heard from my friend that this place is on par with east coast standards. Clearly after eating the poutine and Montreal smoked meat sandwich, it was absolutely delicious. The meat is prepped properly and you can taste the garlic, peppercorns, coriander... Wow. Very bold flavored Montreal deli meat. I'm definitely coming back. The food speaks for itself. I had to buy take out for my other friends to try out. What a great experience. Fantastic place for poutine junkies.

such a cute and comfortable place to grab a quick bite(not too many seating space but they did great for the size) i tried the tuesday special--buffalo chicken poutine, while my friend had the bbq chicken. both really tasty; however, i feel like there was a bit too much sauce and not enough fries! nonetheless, will be coming back to try every single one!!

Overall pretty amazing poutine - the best you can get downtown. The staff was wonderful and I enjoyed my poutine. Very good pricing as well. 4 stars because my husband got a pretty bad stomach upset after - I was okay though. It may be frying oils that my husband is sensitive too. So if you do have a sensitive gut, be careful. Otherwise, I’d come here again (but without my husband lol)

I used to live in Montreal and was craving some authentic poutine. This hit the spot! They had the hockey game on the TV which was perfect, and the guy serving the poutine was friendly and managed the place well. The portions are good, the price is right, and it reminded me of home. 5 out of 5!

Don’t let the 4.6 rating fool you. Food is solid & poutine goes well in drizzly cool weather. The bloke that brought out the food needs happy pills. He just slammed the food on the table. Plus we all got different poutine, but they look similar, there was nothing said to ID which was which.

The Workshop Vegetarian Café is a charming and relaxed cafe that offers a unique twist on traditional Japanese cuisine by serving plant-based dishes, with a focus on ramen and noodles. Established in 2016 by half-Japanese owner Mayumi, the café has successfully captured the essence of classic Japanese flavors while maintaining a commitment to wellness and cultural homage. In addition to their renowned ramen, The Workshop Vegetarian Café also features an array of sandwiches, bowls, and delectable baked goods.
Came here for brunch shortly after they opened at 10 am on a Saturday. Had their Tan Tan Ramen (non-spicy version). It was tasty! The gluten-free version comes with rice noodles instead of the regular homemade noodles. The butternut squash broth was tasty! It was definitely on the thinner, lighter side, and not as rich as your traditional ramen broth (which we expected). The kale and nut medley were good textural additions! They also sell a variety of plant-based treats at the front counter, and refrigerated and pantry items. I picked up a rice crispy treat to-go. Staff bring you the food, but diners clear their own table. Friendly service and there is lots of street parking in the area! I came to use my Plant Curious coupon, but also knew of the café previously having purchased their mochi cake mix (by The Plant Based Workshop) at an event last year. I don't live in the area, but would recommend and would be happy to return again!

Ordered (with home delivery) online the Intro bundle. Unable to comment on location and dine in experience. I can confirm the noodles are an appealing texture with broths that are mild yet flavorful.

Within North Vancouver and West Vancouver there are very few options for plant based eating. The Workshop Vegetarian is the only restaurant I know of on that side of town that is a dedicated Vegan/ Vegetarian restaurant. I am so happy that I finally got to try it! (And I got to use another plant based deals coupon for it too!) Spicy Tan Tan Ramen Miso Glazed Eggplant Veggie Sandwich Croissant Breakfast Sandwich Marinara Grilled Cheese Sandwich Pumpkin Spice Latte Beetroot Latte Mocha My husband loved his Spicy Tan Tan Ramen, and when my meat eating husband eats something plant based and actually likes it, that is a sure sign of good food. He tried the Miso Glazed Eggplant Veggie Sandwich and gave his seal of approval to that as well. I don't know what it is about Breakfast sandwiches that's got our daughter hooked on them so much but I am definitely not complaining about it as she's learning to widen her taste palate and eat foods she's never really eaten much before, thanks to her new love of Vegan breakfast sandwiches. This one at Workshop Vegetarian was no exception to the rule. She loved this one, and the greens were not a detterent! Grilled Cheese Sandwich is a simple dish that I could make at home so I don't usually order it, but a vegan version of it is a real treat as we don't often have Vegan cheese at home. I absolutely loved this Vegan Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The cheese was just as ooey and gooey as a regular Grilled Cheese Sandwich and it tasted so good with the Marinara sauce! They also have a fridge and freezer section where you can buy ready made food to go, or plant based foods to cook at home. I think I may do a bit of shopping on my next visit! This place is my new favourite on the North Shore, and I can't wait to go back again! Where are your favourite spots on the North Shore for plant based eating? Stopped in for an extremely early dinner before the ferry and was not disappointed! During summer heatwave they offer 2 of their noodle dishes cold. We had both the tan tan ramen & rice noodles. Lots of great natural pantry items in their store section.

Unbelievably tasty food!!! OMG! This is the BEST vegetarian eatery I've visited besides Acorn! The handmade udon and ramen noodles are to die for!!! Three little embellishments on each plate make the food as attractive visually as it is gastronomically! My food had crunchy, fine hair like red vegetable decoration that looked like saffron, but was red! The Japanese influence on the food is what makes it take delightful. The prices range from $12 to $16 making it accessable to the majority! I am thrilled to find a huge selection of gluten free, vegan baked goodies on offer too! 🥰

I think this is the best place to have ramen. The soup is heavenly and especially when you press the veggies into the soup, and the soup just wilts the veggies a little bit, it's even better! Their pastries are very good too. I got the cinnamon roll, even with icing on top it wasn't that sweet at all. Definitely will go back

As a major Vancouver foodie, I don't think I have ever reviewed a place whose food actually made me feel so... replenished after eating. But along came this place. Truly, The Workshop Vegetarian Café was a quirky, adventurous, and overall fun dining experience. Not only was the food delicious, it was nutritious down to the last bite, and the service from their friendly, easygoing staff was nothing short of spectacular. My wife and I came on a really hot day, and the rice noodles with organic cashew sauce, served either hot, kind of like a ramen, or cold, which was what I ordered (see photo below), was exactly what I needed to alleviate the heat I felt from that scorching, summer day. That, paired with the organic apple juice I drank from a mason jar (yes, a mason jar) left me feeling completely refreshed. My wife had their avocado toast with a soy latte, and while I thought the bread was a little on the hard side, she absolutely enjoyed it. They also had a little gift shop filled with merchandise like mason jars, The Workshop t-shirts, reusable straws, and straw holders! This place is a little far from us considering it's in North Van, but I would definitely make the trip just to dine at this place again. Once you've eaten here, you would too. Come try this place. It's worth it.

Incredible flavour and variety of dishes for the ramen and noodle dishes. Really nice baked goods and mini section for take home products (the prepared cinnamon buns are great).

Day 5

For day 5, these 3 places should be enough to fill your day with something exciting to do in North Vancouver. Start the day with Science World and make your way through the city to get to Park & Tilford Gardens. This should take about 8 hours of your day.

Nestled in the heart of Vancouver, Science World is a captivating destination for families and young explorers. This iconic geodesic dome is brimming with interactive science exhibits that cater to children from toddlers to early teens. With engaging displays like the ever-changing Medieval Mayhem and the permanent Eureka! physics gallery, kids can immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences. The unique Kidspace area specifically designed for little ones aged 1-3 ensures even the youngest visitors have a place to play and discover.
Lots of fun, plenty of things to do to keep kids entertained. Could do with more hand sanitizer about the place because everyone is touching everything, but it's there if you know where to look for it. Pretty good food options too! You can get a stamp for re-entry if you'd prefer to have lunch elsewhere though.

This place was amazing 👏 So many hands on things to do. We went with an 8, 7, 6 & 3 year old, they all enjoyed a full afternoon there. Admittedly the adults also very much so enjoyed themselves. We went during the week so it wasn't busy at all, that was nice. Now we could have spent HOURS in the massive Lego area!! But I did move the children along 😆 We spent 3 hours, again when not busy that was the perfect amount of time. We've been to science museums in Winnipeg, Regina, and in the states, this so far was the best!

in the summer they have science world after dark for adults with drinks, totally worth it but it’s just few days. it’s a great museum and has something for everyone. parking is sufficient and close, and outside you have park, playground and the false creek

I went to the Cirque Masquerade Ball Halloween Party held at/in Science World. At first, I was totally amazed that such an event could be held in the Science World, based on the size of the event. However, when I attended the event, I realized how big Science World facility truly is. It was a super-amazing venue that seemingly had no difficulty whatsoever to accommodate such a big event. It is such a beautiful facility that accomodated such a large event. I enjoyed meeting several new people, that were very friendly and outgoing similar to myself. I highly recommend it as an awesome place to go to events or venues. I look forward to attending more events that might be held there.

My family of 5 had a great time here. Spent almost 4 hours running around, and we didn't even make it to everything. We loved Molly of Denali, we did lego building, had lunch at Triple O's. The staff was friendly. I would say overall this was a great activity, looking forward to coming back

I had always heard great things about Vancouver’s Science World, so we came with high expectations — and it did not disappoint! The exhibits are fun, interactive, and educational. My son spent the whole day exploring with endless enthusiasm. A fantastic place for families with kids — highly recommended!
Grace L — Google review
Science World — the giant shiny golf ball that Vancouverites pretend is an educational hub but secretly visit just to poke buttons and spin wheels like overgrown toddlers. It’s a paradise for kids, sure — they run around with wide eyes and sticky hands, discovering the wonders of human anatomy and physics. Meanwhile, adults try to look intellectual while discreetly racing toy cars powered by wind turbines. The exhibits about the human body are fascinating — nothing like realizing how many ways your organs can betray you to make you appreciate science. Between the illusions, experiments, and the occasional “Did you know?” that makes you question your life choices, Science World is both enlightening and humbling. In short, it’s the perfect place to remind yourself that you don’t actually understand gravity as well as you thought you did.

A great interactive museum for kids under the age of 10. I would highly recommend to get a membership in your hometown because you will get in free. We bought a membership in Edmonton and reaped the benefits today (bypassed the large line and got in free).

Public library
Libraries
Vancouver Public Library, Central Library, is a grand architectural marvel with a colonnaded surround reminiscent of a Roman amphitheater. It's the third largest library in Canada and boasts an impressive collection of 9.5 million items borrowed annually, including books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, genealogy records, local history books, and more. The building's design by Safdie Architects is striking and has been featured in Hollywood films.
If you’re from out of town , the ability to check out books from this 9 story building filled with books, multi faith prayer room, computers , board games, puzzles , roof top gardens will be yours for a small fee. It’s surrounded by little small shops harboring coffee and snacks . It’s clean and bright with super friendly staff. Best theme park . No wait for the escalators !

The Vancouver Public Library Central Branch is one of the most beautiful parts of Vancouver. Each floor offers something different, and you could easily spend days exploring and enjoying it. There’s definitely something for every taste, from books and magazines to quiet study areas and creative spaces. The design and layout are both beautiful and practical, making it a place you’ll want to return to again and again
Hossein J — Google review
The library is such a beautiful building, with little shops inside selling stationery. These are quite a few people coming and going, but what I love most is the glass roof, as the natural light makes the whole space feel so bright and airy
Judy H — Google review
Beautiful and dated at once. It feels like a university library and has many areas where to work quietly. The children's library is undergoing a massive renovation, but you can still borrow children's books and attend events and workshops. An old-fashioned cardex can still be consulted. And there are information boards throughout the library for different communities.
Valérie — Google review
Gorgeous library. I wish I'd known of this place sooner and not just the day I left YVR. Clean. Staff are friendly and give directions accordingly. Their rooftop garden sitting area must be gorgeous in the summer/spring. Was refreshing to see a library well kept.
EBS — Google review
One of the most beautiful libraries in the city. The design feels more like a museum or gallery than a typical library, with lots of natural light and open space. Huge selection of books, quiet study spots, and even a rooftop garden. It’s a great place to read, work, or just enjoy a calm moment in the middle of downtown. Definitely worth checking out, even if you’re just visiting.

Very large, clean, and beautiful public library in the city of Vancouver! There is an observation deck on floor 9 which allows visitors to observe the city from the sky. There are computers in the library for research and catalog search purposes, along with many books, including a multilingual section. This library is a huge resource, from physical media such as CDs to books on law. Great place to visit, I would recommend!

You can borrow musical instruments with your library card for 21 days. Learning to play a musical instrument is a path towards finding your inner peace. I Never had this option when I was growing up here in Vancouver. They have an excellent kids section. Dinosaurs 🦕 are so interesting! The also have international books, magazines or other media. I thank the owners for these options. I thank God for these blessings ✝️.. This review was written in 2025, which is after the COVID-19 pandemic but people exposed to the COVID-19 virus may have developed something called long-covid whereby a person could collapse, experience fatigue, confusion, dizziness and other symptoms. Drinking alcohol makes the symptoms worse. Drinking caffeine after 5 pm (soda pop, tea, coffee, caffeinated energy drinks) will disrupt your sleep and also make your symptoms worse. Symptoms vary as well as intensity. I have spoken to teenagers and seniors or co-workers that had or have long covid. An indicator is if you have difficulty counting backwards from 100. If you cannot do it or struggle counting backwards, you might have long covid. Do an internet search regarding long covid in your location to find out how long covid could impact you or a loved one. Ask your pharmacist or doctor. There are tourists that visit here so verify in your own locality. If you have troubles and no one to turn to remember that Jesus ❤ you! You can also lean on God. Ask G

Botanical garden
Nature & Parks
Gardens
Park & Tilford Gardens, established in 1969, is a hidden gem located within a shopping mall in North Vancouver. Despite its small size of 2 acres, it offers a rich and vibrant landscaping experience with eight themed gardens including Japanese, rose, herb, and native gardens. Visitors can enjoy benches, fountains, and a Christmas light display during the holiday season. This European-style garden provides a peaceful oasis for families to explore and learn about different plant species suitable for North Shore gardens.
It's a hidden gem inside the mall. I visited this garden in Christmas time years ago. It was a nice garden with a lots of Christmas lights and decorations. This is the first time that I visit day time before it's closed at 7pm. The garden is a private garden opened in 1962 but it opens to public. There are a few gardens inside. It's well worth visiting. I think the flowers will be more in spring.

First time visiting the Park And Tilford Gardens. It was nice, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I’m not sure if there’s another park Tilford Gardens that’s larger and you need to pay to get in, but this garden was free to get into and it was small and didn’t take very long to go through the whole thing. It was fairly well kept up and a nice little sanctuary in the busy city.

Absolutely stunning gardens with some wonderful rare plants and trees. This place has always been free and I've been going here since I was a small child. Recent renovations will be interesting to see, I miss the pagoda along the walkway, but you can see why they had to take it out. The Oriental gardens have been meticulously maintained forever and it's wonderful to see it growing steadily under the care of the Gardner who specializes in them ❤️❤️❤️
Erin — Google review
Park & Tilford Gardens is a calm, well-loved pocket garden that feels like a quiet secret in the middle of a busy strip mall. The themed beds are tidy and varied so every visit offers something different, from a rose garden to a fragrant herb patch. Benches and winding paths make it easy to slow down and take photos. The volunteer care shows in the neatness and seasonal displays, which makes the space feel genuinely cared for. Cons: It’s small so it won’t satisfy someone wanting a big park walk. On sunny weekends it can feel crowded and the garden edges up against parking and retail, which breaks the immersion sometimes.
Frahang — Google review
Park & Tilford Gardens is truly magical all year round — from the cozy fall vibes with pumpkins, to the sparkling Christmas lights, and the breathtaking rose garden in spring and summer. Every visit feels peaceful and refreshing. It’s beautifully maintained, easy to walk around, and perfect for photos or just a quiet moment in nature. Such a hidden gem right in North Vancouver — a place that changes with the seasons but always feels special!
Pegah M — Google review
Park & Tilford Gardens is a hidden gem tucked behind the shopping centre, offering a peaceful escape in the middle of the city. Spread over just a few acres, it features themed sections like a Rose Garden, Herb Garden, and Oriental Garden, each with its own character. The winding paths, benches, and central fountain make it perfect for a quiet stroll, photography, or simply sitting in a calm setting. Seasonal plantings keep it interesting year-round, and volunteers maintain the gardens beautifully. Parking is free, and entry is also free, which makes it an easy stop if you’re in the area. It’s not a large destination garden, but it’s a charming, well-kept oasis worth visiting.
Hamid V — Google review
This small garden is a hidden paradise. Although it is not as dazzling as it was in its prime, it is still worth visiting frequently. I particularly love the Japanese garden and the rose garden. The layout of the Japanese garden is excellent, and the maple trees are beautifully pruned. The rose garden has many great varieties, and the labels are very detailed! It is right next to Rona and JJ Bean Cafe. It's an incredible presence. You can buy a cup of coffee at JJ Bean, sit on the red chairs at the park entrance, chat with friends and family, and breathe in the fresh, sweet floral scent. What a pleasant time!

There's a tiny garden, but being there feels really nice. The fragrance of flowers is so delightful! It fills the air with a sweet, refreshing scent that instantly lifts your spirits and soothes your soul.

Hot dog restaurant
Fast food restaurant
JAPADOG is a popular street-food chain with locations in Vancouver and Los Angeles, known for its Japanese-style hot dogs. The concept was brought to life by a Japanese couple who moved to Vancouver in 2005. They offer over a dozen varieties of hot dogs topped with unique Japanese ingredients like Terimayo sauce and bonito flakes.
I've been going to JapaDog forever ! It is a Vancouver classic and the Robson location never disappoints! We had the Wagyu Terimayo and the Ebi Tempura dog both packed with flavor and so unique. The drinks were refreshing (Japanade Pink Lemonade and Yuzu Matcha Lemonade) and the shaker fries were incredible, especially the Shichimi & Garlic and the Butter & Shoyu. The staff were friendly, the food came out quickly, and the whole experience reminded me why JapaDog has been loved here for 20 years. Definitely worth the hype!
Renee F — Google review
i got very severe decision paralysis from this huge menu and i have so many regrets about my life choices. the hot dogs were a tad disappointing tbh — the bun was very normal looking and wasn’t very fresh. i think it would’ve been a lot yummier if it was fresh. the cheese on the tonkatsu dog was a bit plasticky, although it did make it more flavourful. the wagyu menchi katsu dog was vEry juicy, you could tell that it actually was very high quality (unlike the bread), and its heavy flavour was balanced by the sweet sauce. however the cutlet actually only took up like half of the bun so half of the time you were literally just eating mayo and slaw. both the tonkatsu and menchikatsu were fried FRESH so it was served nice and piping hot. compared to the hot dogs, the desserts were MUCHHHHH better. the black sesame milkshake was so good — it wasn’t too sweet, but there was a great black sesame flavour. the age ice cream buns were also reALLLY yummy. the fried, crispy sweet buns were really warm and paired so perfectly with the (not too sweet) cold and smooth matcha ice cream. the sugar coating the bun also elevated it — honestly these fried buns were such a highlight.

We’re spending one day in Vancouver before boarding a cruise and Japadog just happened to be a block from our hotel. We’ve seen a YouTube video about it and it looked amazing so we knew when we booked our hotel that that would be our first stop after checking in. It’s a small place and quite busy, but it’s busy for a really good reason. The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially for Japadog newbies. I was super happy to see that there were vegetarian options of the exact dogs I wanted to try. The flavor of these dogs is unreal and unlike anything we’ve ever tried before. We are planning a longer trip to Vancouver and you’d better believe Japadog will be a regular stop!
Joe S — Google review
Fun Japanese fusion hotdogs that's worth a try. The sausages had a good snap and flavour. We ordered the all beef terimayo and tonkatsu dog as well as a yuzu lemonade. Both were good but the tonkatsu was the more unique option but with a lot of mayo. Yuzu lemonade was refreshing and balanced out the heavier dogs. Would come again and try the other dogs
Don N — Google review
Japadog offers a fun and unique twist on the classic hot dog by combining Japanese flavors with a North American street food favorite. The concept is creative and definitely stands out among casual food options in Vancouver. I tried a few varieties, and while the toppings were flavorful and interesting, the overall experience depended a lot on which combination you choose. Some options, like the Terimayo, were well-balanced and satisfying, while others felt a bit too salty or heavy. The prices are slightly higher than a typical street-style hot dog, but considering the specialty ingredients and novelty, it’s understandable. Service was quick and friendly, and the food came out fresh. Overall, Japadog is worth a visit if you’re curious about a fun fusion concept or looking for a quick bite with bold flavors. It may not be something I’d have frequently, but it’s an iconic Vancouver spot that’s worth trying at least once.
Tram N — Google review
Japadog is definitely a fun and unique Vancouver experience — the fusion of Japanese flavors with a classic street hotdog is creative and surprisingly tasty. The toppings are fresh and the combinations stand out, especially the Terimayo. That said, for what it is, the prices are a bit steep. Great for trying once or showing visitors something different, but not somewhere you’d go often just for a hotdog
Mark — Google review
Always a great Jap-anadian experience!! Today's choice, Karaage hot dog. Succulent pieces of chicken karaage on top of fresh greens, with their signature Miso sauce, on a fresh bun. Tasty to the last bite!
James P — Google review
This place always seems busy, so I thought might as well give it a try. Unfortunately I don't eat beef or pork so I was left with the chicken options. I got the chicken karage and was extremely disappointed. The roll was dry, with a tiny bit of lettuce and no flavour at all. This was very disappointing as I would have thought it would be much better. I would assume the beef ones are better, but for that I can't tell. If you eat chicken, I would not recommend this place. There are much better places for chicken.

Restaurant
Blue Water Cafe is a popular seafood restaurant located in Vancouver's Yaletown, housed in a charming heritage warehouse. Led by Executive Chef Frank Pabst, the restaurant is known for its commitment to serving sustainable and locally sourced seafood. The menu features a diverse selection of raw and cooked dishes, with the signature three-tier seafood tower being a standout offering. Additionally, Blue Water Cafe hosts the annual Unsung Heroes festival in February, showcasing innovative dishes made from underappreciated seafood species.
We are seafood lovers, and my husband took me here for my birthday dinner. The oysters were very fresh and juicy. The food was good, and the service was great. We sat in the balcony area, which was warm. The only downside was the heater — it couldn’t be adjusted, so when one table complained that it was too hot, they turned it off. Once it was off, it got cold again, so they had to keep switching it on and off. The walkway to the washroom was also quite dark. Overall, we had a great time there.

We had an amazing dining experience at Blue Water Cafe. Everything was perfect - from the warm, friendly service - to the lovely booth we got just for the two of us, even on a busy night, which made the evening feel even more special. The food was great, and the cocktails were excellent. If you love fish and seafood, this place is a must-visit when in Vancouver. They also offer an extensive wine list and some fantastic cocktail options. Would definitely go back! [Date of visit: 07 October 2025]

Came here on a Sunday evening and got seated at the sushi bar, which was a great experience — it’s always nice to watch the sushi chefs at work. We weren’t too hungry, so we ordered a few items to share. Our server recommended a bottle of sake to pair with the food (wish I had taken a photo of the label!), and interestingly, it was served in a wine glass instead of traditional sake cups. We ended the meal with dessert and an espresso martini. Overall, it was a great dinner — the atmosphere was relaxed yet upscale and very clean. Would definitely come back!

The atmosphere was amazing as well no loud music.. service was not the top but there is alot room for improvement… but i will still give it a 5 star. the food was delicious we had the seafood tower, tenderloins , ribs, duck and salmon and delicious dessert lava cake and cheesecake… also this is the first restaurant we experience bread and butter.. hot bread the second time.. the seafood was definitely fresh for a Wednesday evening.I recommend this place to everyone visiting Vancouver or even for date night. I am sure they will take care of you. For more details for the food visit the place 😀

A lovely spot for enjoying white wine. If you’re feeling full after dinner, I recommend the fresh lobster sashimi as a light accompaniment. Ask for lemon and cocktail sauce on the side, it elevates the flavor noticeably. Portions are very small and the price is determined by market rate, so it isn’t inexpensive, but there aren’t many places where you can enjoy lobster sashimi. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff are gracious.

We visited Blue Water Cafe in Vancouver after making the trip in from White Rock, and it was absolutely worth it. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, and the overall vibe is fantastic. A huge shout-out to our waiter Liam, who was truly exceptional. His service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable — he made the experience feel extra special. The seafood was incredibly fresh and delicious, easily some of the best we’ve had. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

I had an incredible dinner at Blue Water Café last night. Everything we ordered was flawless. The Amalfi Coast pasta special with grilled octopus was unreal….perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavour. The halibut sashimi was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the halibut special was another 10/10 dish that rounded out the meal perfectly. Service, atmosphere, food… all exceptional. Easily one of the best dining experiences in the city. Highly recommend!

The Narrow Lounge

Cocktail bar
Tucked away on trendy Main Street in Vancouver, The Narrow Lounge is a hip and dimly lit prohibition-style bar that offers a glimpse into the past. The retro cocktails exude classiness while complementing the dive bar ambiance. This unmarked hideaway, known for its red light signaling when it's open, features an intimate backyard expansion with a laid-back tiki-style bar.
I missed this place twice trying to find it, but once I went in I was met with dim glowing lights, decorated walls and overall an awesome dark ambience. It's Halloween themed too which is a bonus. The area is not too big and the music was not too loud, in fact they were playing some pretty sick grungy music that I would have loved to catch the name of. The eats are very well priced and looked appealing, ranging from burritos to shareables. I enjoyed my cocktail and wish I could have gotten more. The service was amicable and really friendly! The bathroom was clean for my visit, and also had some artsy decorations. Overall, I really dig the style and design of this place. It stands out among the monotonous atmospheres of other run of the mill bars. I hope to bring more people here who would similarly appreciate cool sights and sounds.

Soo affordable and so fun to go to. I have come twice and enjoyed the inside and outside. Inside is low lighting, limited seating, nice spot for 2 people. The seating is mostly for two but can definitely work for four. Out doors there is some bar seating and a couple long picnic tables where 2-3 different groups can come to the same table. It is definitely popular and never empty but usually so far this is always somewhere available They have interesting liquors to try! Their cocktail menu is also mixed classics and fun stuff. Their food menu is so affordable and the portion is very good, honestly great place to bar hop. Just a note, I brought one friend who is sensitive to certain cheaper liquors and they struggled with their drink, no one else did.

The best cocktail bar in Vancouver. Their Hurricane drink is wicked, the tater tots w/ beef are amazing, it's a wonderful vibe and I loved my time here. Definitely a good spot to go to with friends, you won't regret it. Neat SF2 cabinet in the back as well.

Lovely little spot with a nice patio as well. We only stopped in for a drink. The atmosphere is cool, and while my drink was a bit too sweet for my taste, we'd like to come back — maybe during happy hour — to give it another try!

Glad i finally found this place!!! TJ was great and was attentive and the drinks were great. Was really impressed by the music here, too... Sublime, Augustus Pablo & Chromatixx.--- great stuff 💯🫡

Man oh Man what an incredible evening well spent!!! Great service the energy is top notch. My personal recommendations would be to meet TJ(mixologist/bartender). This guy has magic portions stored up his sleeve if he comes by your table just ask him to whip you up anything he feels like at the moment. We had something called “what’s the thyme” the cocktail that has blueberries and his secret syrup gin we definitely had our minds blue-own. Can’t wait to go back to this place for the September Sangria thing. Ohh don’t forget there is no reservation so be there early it’s purely first come first serve. Cheers to TJ and crew this is one of my favourite places on my list

Good spot, I would visit again. The lavender gin fizz was delicious, they make the lavender vanilla syrup in house. The crunch wrap was a little bland but the cheesy tots hit the spot. Nice bartenders! Look for the red light just off Main on 3rd. I didn’t realize it apparently they have a back patio too!

My fav and best speakeasy in Vancouver serving delish cocktails late into the night. I agree its hard to find this spot but if you know to look for the redt light ul be fine. The minute you walk in I loved the vibe of this place. Spent 4 hours trying different cocktails and the bartender was a joy to chat with as well. We tried their chocolate old fashioned (not on the menu but the bartender made this one - amazing), cacao caliente, tsunami (my husbands fav - kept re-ordering this all night), trend setter (interesting take on espresso martini) & lavender gin fizz! We loved everything we ordered. Dint stay for food though but enjoyed our drinks. They have several tables here and I am sure it is packed on weekends. Highly recommend.

Modern French restaurant
Tour De Feast is a charming family-run restaurant located in a quiet North Vancouver neighborhood. The eatery boasts contemporary decor and offers traditional French dishes such as cassoulet and braised beef. Known for its excellent brunch options, the restaurant provides a simple modern atmosphere that appeals to both locals and tourists. With a reputation for consistency and attention to detail, Tour De Feast has become one of the best-hidden gems on the North Shore.
It is the kind of place that proves you don’t need elaborate decor when you have food that actually tastes good. Minimalist would be an understatement, if you’re looking for chandeliers and mood lighting, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a meal that reminds you life can still have meaning, pull up a chair. We went for lunch and had the Smoked Salmon, Duck Confit Cassoulet, Mushroom Omelette, Full French, and Tomato and Mushroom Soups. Each dish was layered with flavor, carefully prepared, and frankly, better than we deserve. Service is friendly, the atmosphere is warm, and the parking is a survival game with only three spots, may the odds be ever in your favor. But once inside, you’ll be too busy enjoying the food to care. A properly good meal, no frills necessary.

We usually come here for dinner but thought we could try their breakfast/lunch as well. Well..it didn't disappoint. Loved the steak, omelet, and salmon sandwich my husband and I shared. I loved the plating which makes you really hungry! So delicious and tasty. Staff are very attentive. 100% satisfaction on service!

A little hidden gem restaurant in a quiet North Vancouver neighborhood. The decoration of the restaurant is quite simple. For a small restaurant, it will be better if it has a more cozy decoration with warm atmosphere. The flavor of foir gras terrine is too strong for me but the duck breast taste perfect, it's tender inside and crispy skin outside. Server is friendly and welcoming.

First time at a French-themed restaurant. Waitress was great and gave advice on what goes well together. The food from appetizer to dessert was delicious; my fillet was perfect and so well seasoned, my wife's lamb shank was tender and tasty!

Great hidden gem in North Vancouver. We were recommended this restaurant by a local and were not disappointed! The food is flavourful and honest. Nothing too fancy but very delicious. The service is kind. There is limited free parking at the rear. The patio is dog friendly.

Tour De Feast is amazing! The food is fresh, tasty, and beautifully served. I had such a wonderful experience at Tour De Feast Restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented – every dish tasted like it was made with care. The menu had plenty of variety, and everything we tried was perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff were so welcoming and attentive, making us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. The service was quick, and they were happy to answer questions and make recommendations.
