American restaurant
Wedding venue
Richards Farm Restaurant offers a taste of homestyle American cuisine in a charming setting, housed in a restored 1930s barn adorned with vintage farm tools. The menu features hearty specialties such as fried catfish, steak, and a substantial 1-pound pork chop. The restaurant is also home to the World's Largest Pitchfork, paying homage to the local agricultural community.
Way off the grid, great restaurant. I had a delicious chicken with rice in a cheese sauce. The dish was perfect, no additional seasoning needed. I'd eat here on a regular basis if it wasn't about 500 miles from my home.

This gem is located in Casey, Illinois, on a functioning farm. Upon your arrival, perhaps as a recommendation from a local, hotel services, or just to see the largest pitchfork, etc., you notice a garden off to the side. A sign greets and welcomes you to stroll through. A step back in time, a small, yet beautiful garden with a pond, a sitting area. But as you follow the path, past the garden and tool sheds, it leads you around the property, opening up and unveiling the chickens, goat, and sheep that call this place home. We were seated immediately. The atmosphere is farm/stable structure with many antiques, decor, and scenery of country living. Our server was wonderful and helpful with recommendations. Appetizers are very filling. Generous portions. We definitely needed to go boxes. Burgers and salmon are wonderful options here. And the serving sizes are Generous. There is a salad bar, as well as a soup and bread station, should you choose those. I highly recommend coming here if youre passing through, visiting Casey or any local town.
Lorelei E — Google review
Enjoying the hot bar in 2025 was a treat, it takes me back to the good old days. The salad bar was well stocked, the ham bean soup and potatoe soup were perfect. Bread was soft and fresh. The hot bar was absolutely perfect for a big lunch. The chicken is fried and delicious, and the meatloaf is sweet and tangy. I could eat an entire plate of the whipped mashed potatoes. The atmosphere is classic and the music reminded me of my grandparents. If you're heading from Indy to St. Louis, check out Casey and grab lunch here before hitting the road.
R C — Google review
I was a little skeptical when I picked it. I come from the midwest, and barn style restaurants can be hit or miss. Richards was fabulous. Decorated in a loaded way, but not in your face. It's to be expected from a barn. The food was fabulous. I had the salmon, and it was delightful. The broccoli had a nice balance of broccoli and butter flavors. The ice cream had a distinct taste that did not feel like traditional vanilla. Totally worth a stop if driving through the area.

Richards Farm is a legendary restaurant in an historic dairy barn. The Sunday Brunch Buffet is fantastic! Highly recommended!
Mark S — Google review
We helped our friends celebrate their 65th anniversary. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and barn oriented.
Charles L — Google review
We visited on a Friday at 1:30 pm. You could order from menu or soup and salad bar or hot bar which includes soup and salad bar. For starters the Romain lettuce was very fresh and crisp - no signs of brown!! Several salad toppings along with all your favorite prepared salads! Homemade bread with great butter spreads and FRESH strawberry spread. There were 4 soups to chose from - absolutely delicious!!!! 2 entrees - Chicken and meatloaf ( the best I’ve had in a long time). IF you have room after all this you may want to try some dessert!!! A must visit - the atmosphere takes you back to a country feel and farm atmosphere. ENJOY!!
Cheryl S — Google review
It's a fantastic restaurant! We try to make it a point to stop here when we are traveling through the area. The Hot Bar food option is a great price and value for everything it comes with (though they seem to only offer it at lunchtime), and all the menu food is also delicious and really good portion sizes. Their speciality cocktails were unique, smooth, and delicious, too. The cute goats on site are neat and of course the "World's Largest Pitchfork" on site is always neat to see as well.

The World's Largest Pitchfork is a unique entry in the Guinness Book of World Records, constructed to be over 10 times the size of a regular pitchfork. This massive 60-foot-long, 1,940-pound tool is made from reclaimed Western red cedar wood and streetlight illuminator arms. Situated near Richards Farm Restaurant, which has been open since 1976 in a 1930s barn, this Illinois attraction is an impressive sight for visitors.
I loved it.. I had google large sculptures, and it took me to casey Illinois, big things in a small town.. they weren't joking. The sculptures are huge. My favorite is the rocking chair. 🙂
Sandra R — Google review
Ok so here’s what you’re gonna do, hit Casey up for all the big stuff first then end your day/ afternoon here for lunch next door at the farm. Cute area to walk around, goats, nice patio and the decor inside is great. Mac n cheese with brisket was pretty solid but THE BREAD omg thank you to the man who said to try some. The bread and butter is what I wanna be when I grow up haha. But seriously it was delicious, fun stop :)
Kristine P — Google review
Free to visit, free parking, no lines or wait at all! Also a fun little landscape brick walking path with Photo booth options for pictures and flowers and trees leading back to benches to sit and wait for your table at the restaurant next door to the pitchfork if you have a wait. Located just outside the city of Casey. A true hidden gem.
Morgan H — Google review
This was great due to having many different world largest things. It was great to get out of the car during a road trip to walk around and see them. You do need a car or bike to see the golf tee and the pitch fork but it was a great stop
Linda M — Google review
The pitchfork is outside and accessible. It is located at the end of the dead-end road. The area is beautifully landscaped and has a few fun things for kids. This also is a place for lunch/eats. I had a great chuckle at the moose with the gourds in his horns. Well done!
Cindee H — Google review
This is seriously immense! I guess I wasn't expecting it to be this big. Great photo opportunities here. There's an American Gothicesque cutout here behind the pitchfork. Quite a few very unique birdhouses. Beautiful grounds, and it was a beautiful day to visit. If we had more time and hadn't already eaten, we would have stopped in to dine at the restaurant. Don't miss out on this one when you're in the area!

The World's Largest Rocking Chair, located in Casey, Illinois, is an impressive sight to behold. Weighing over 46,000 pounds and standing at a towering height of 56 feet with a width of nearly 33 feet, this colossal wooden rocker took over two years to build. Intricately carved with a dove and olive branch design, it actually rocks but unfortunately cannot be tried out by visitors due to its immense size.

It was so much fun in a beautiful small town. The big things to see (definitely worth a Google search!) are mostly in the small downtown area, with a few others being in different places but in the same general area. It certainly is a big honking rocking chair 😝 Swung through Casey, Illinois to check out this chair and some of the other 'World's Largest' things the town proudly displays. It was great fun, the town obviously has put a lot of work into building up the downtown area and making it very attractive to tourists. The rocking chair is HUGE, and scaled up very realistically! The area around it is prettily landscaped, and there is abundant on-street parking. Worth a visit!

Definitely worthwhile stopping in this town if on a road trip between Indianapolis and St. Louis. I parked for free on Main St. by the rocking chair. Inside the gem store they have the World’s largest puzzle and riding horse. I got some souvenirs and they gave me a map for the rest of the world’s largest attractions (roughly ~25). It was basically a free adventurous scavenger hunt.

We stopped in on Monday for breakfast. Wow the inside and the outside are so well kept up so much seating very clean. The waitress that took care of us was so friendly. The food was cooked fresh and served hot and in a timely manner. Everything tasted so great and the prices were also wonderful. We enjoyed everything thank you.

We were very happy to have stopped here. The food was excellent and the atmosphere unique. There is quite a bit of seating outside with views of several of the BIG things, but, we opted to eat inside, as we had already been walking around in the sun for a few hours, and still had a few more to go. The decor was wonderful. I had the Club and Bobbie had the BLT. Both were delicious. We both ordered the peach smoothie, and it really hit the spot after being out in the sun for several hours. The portions were just right to give us enough to continue the day without being overstuffed. The only thing missing were dill pickle spears. We both found it odd that they did not come with the sandwiches. We will definitely return the next time we're in the area!

I was pleasantly surprised by Casey! The big things were for the most part closer to each other than it seemd like they would be. The little town was clean and we'll laid out. For a tiny farm town, on a weekday morning, it was pretty lively too! Most businesses were closed, wether not open for the day or closed for the season, not sure. We walked by a few people, all greeting us with a hello. Had a drink and pastry at casey coffee, also a cute little shop with wonderful people working. Watch for semis while crossing the roads! There were tons of them! Definitely worth a stop!

McDonald's, the iconic fast-food chain that has been a staple for burger and fry lovers around the globe, continues to impress with its commitment to customer service. During a recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional dedication of the staff. The drive-thru employee truly went above and beyond, showcasing pride in her work that made my experience memorable. Even though there was a bit of a wait due to high demand, it was clear that everyone on shift was hustling to serve customers efficiently.
Our cashier was super sweet and tried to help us get our coupon to work. I don't recall her name but she had very cutely colored hair. Wait was a bit but they were clearly busy and working through orders as fast as possible with as many people as they had on shift. One of my better experiences at a McDonald's.

I had a disappointing experience at McDonald's, warranting a one-star rating. The fries were completely saltless, lacking the signature flavor that defines McDonald's fries. Additionally, I witnessed staff members engaging in bickering, which created a tense atmosphere. The argument escalated to the point where one staff member confronted another about their attitude, leading to an uncomfortable situation for customers. Overall, the lack of seasoning on the fries and the visible conflict among staff members made for an unpleasant dining experience.

This was the worst McDonald’s we have ever ate at. The service was terrible. We arrived and couldn’t find a table to eat at because they were all dirty and there was leftover food and trash everywhere. No one was cleaning. And then at the drink fountain area it was so disgusting several of the customers complained to the lady behind the counter as there was trash everywhere and soda all over the floor. We found the table that was the least gross and sat there to eat. Enjoyed our food and left. Couldn’t believe the restaurant would look that bad and no one working there noticed or cared. Hope it’s better next time if we visit traveling thru.

I placed an order for five people very simple order of 8 double cheeseburgers a single cheeseburger only received 6 and my single cheeseburger the lady that took my order was extremely rude and then proceeded to huff when asked if we could have a sauce for one of the burgers (which I was willing to pay for) not our first bad experience with this McDonalds and would definitely not recommend after AM crew has clocked out

Morning crew rocks it! Afternoon to evening is something else. When you hear the employees say, "well their at the window", should know I was going to be missing something. Fries were barely half full, yes I would love to wait for fresh and full fries but hey, what can you do. With a choice, I would go elsewhere for lunch and dinner options
Tony A — Google review
It was a good experience. We stopped here while traveling. I had leftovers from last night so I ate that, but I did eat a few of husband's fries. They seem to be fresh & perfectly salted. We're happy to see that lately our mcdoubles aren't smashed. Update: Not a bad visit. Fries and chicken weren't very warm. It seems that order arrangers don't take good care to make sure the containers are shut while they are getting everything together. But overall, it was good. I tried the s'mores Mcflurry & not that it was bad, I just didn't care for it much. It was 2 minutes to get our order after it moved to "now serving."
Elizabeth C — Google review
Slow at serving no-one greeting, register abandoned. Egg McMuffin a little bit old, coffee mix up, but it was still worth stopping there. This is typical of all McDonald's they do not train their staff well on greeting, eye contact, or the reason why they're there. The customers. Also I like to tip people and I can't believe they don't have a tip cup.

Pizza delivery
Pizza Hut is a well-loved chain that offers a delightful mix of delivery, carry-out, and dine-in options. Known for its delicious pizzas, wings, and pasta dishes, it also features an array of sides and desserts to satisfy any craving. Guests often rave about the friendly service; one visitor highlighted the pleasant interaction with staff who provided helpful recommendations on portion sizes. The Meat Lovers Pan Pizza received high praise for its flavor and texture—many agree that pan pizza reigns supreme over thin crust!
The Meat Lovers Pan Pizza I got was pretty good. Pan is always better than thin crust. I liked the bread sticks too. Also has a claw machine game with some stuffed animals in there. Five stars! 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕
Michael K — Google review
If you want even a half decent experience, look elsewhere. This Pizza Hut has gone lengths unlike any I have seen to make sure their customers are unhappy. They have accused my pregnant girlfriend of lying about not receiving her order, when, in reality, the driver didn’t even deliver to the correct apartment(WHEN THE APARTMENT NUMBERS ARE ON THE DOORS) They put the smallest amount of sauce possible on their wings, they don’t even care to full cut their breadsticks and/or pizza, which is part of their job. I understand that I can cut my own, but when it is quite literally someone’s job and you are giving a finished product to a customer, you could at least not cut corners. This Pizza Hut is by far the worst Pizza Hut in 50 miles, and West T doesn’t even come close to as bad and that’s saying something. You guys could be and do so much better, but you hire people who don’t care and who berate customers instead of having actual customer service skills.

Made an online order and said would be done in 23 minutes, but the app said 50 minutes. I called the store and she said they are behind it’s just her and the cook. I got to drive up and she said would be 10 minutes and handed me the receipt and had someone else’s name on it. I ask if this was mine was told. So I waited about 15 minutes and came back. Another lady gave me the pizza which was wrong, and gave my name and another woman ask what the issue was and her co-worker told her I got the wrong pizza and when she told her my name the other lady said it’s been sitting right here. I looked at food it seem to be right but when eating pizza we noticed either the dough was not correct or something. Was told 2 people were working but counted at least 5 people working. So do not why they were having issues.

Very friendly not over friendly but very nice young lady that made nice small talk would recommend eating here very clean place and she was honest and said its cheaper to get a large rather then the medium, I was going to order. Ill be honest probably one of the best i'm dying in experiences I've had in a while. You could tell that she enjoyed her job making harmless jokes like you better drink all that pepsi after i ask for a refill with my response, absolutely can't waste a good fountain, pepsi drink moral of the story, I just wish there was more of the younger generation I like this young lady.

Pizza undercooked. The waitress got puff when I told her the sweet tea was unsweetened. Once the food was delivered to our table, we never saw waitress again, until she brought the bill. Smiles expecting a good tip.

Fun little stop-off during our road trip! It was even bigger than I expected, and the mailbox itself and the little park area around it are very well-maintained. The town itself has numerous 'world's largest' things, mostly located in the downtown area, but a few are further out. Google Maps was a huge help finding everything, lol 😛 You can actually go up inside the mailbox!!! No admission or wait time, just wander up the stairs (entrance at the backside the wooden 'mailbox post') and there is an actual mail drop on the upper level of the mailbox. Great view of the town! Well worth spending the afternoon here.

Interesting little town that has a fascination with "world's largest" things. This place is super cute. We got in the world's largest mailbox (you can actually send mail) and saw the world's largest pencil, rocking chair, barber pole, car key...it got weird.

Such a unique experience and the second photo included is from up inside the mailbox!! Never seen anything like this. You can visit for free and walk right up. Located in tiny downtown Casey, IL. You can park on the street right in the main downtown area and walk up it for free. No lines or waits or cost. Free bathrooms also located across the street inside a building open to the public. Several other “World’s Largest” items located along same street or within a few blocks of the mailbox. All free to visit and park with no crowds.

Fun city to stop at. You can go up in the mail box. Also if you mail a postcard from inside it raises the flag on the outside, so have someone on the street for pictures. Also the pretzels place near by was excellent.
Patrick L — Google review
Saw something about the world's largest mailbox in my Reddit feed one day, so on a trip to Atlanta, took an out-of-the-way route to see it in person. Walk around town and you will see a big mailbox, big rocking chair, big pencil, big wind chimes, big mouse trap, big yardstick, big barber pole.... Interesting out of the ordinary things to see......

We had a great experience. Went in on a Sunday afternoon. This was one of the only things open on Sunday in Casey. Not many folks when we arrived, but it was getting busier as we left. Food came out quickly and tasted good. Chips and salsa were good. Service was friendly. Enjoyed our visit and would return again.

Ate a late lunch on our way to the city campground (review left for them). We were able to park our camper/tow vehicle on a street within a block’s distance. Large dining area, very friendly waiter. He took our order of fajitas and BBQ Ribs, first time I have seen ribs on a Mexican restaurant menu. Fajitas very good, ribs were a nice surprise, not quite enough to rate overall five for Food. Service was faster than expected for a ribs order. Will visit again when in Casey. Check out the Big Key next door.

The restaurant was a bit empty as it was chilly outside, we were seated and waited for around 15 minutes prior to waiter attending us. The food was great as the service was a bit under manned. We ordered a variety to really capture the full flavors of the restaurant. We had a great experience and highly recommend the Taco Salad, shrimp chicken and steak cooked to perfection.

The World's Largest Wooden Shoes in Casey, Illinois, are a unique roadside attraction created by Jim Bolin, the mastermind behind many of Casey’s "big things." These giant wooden clogs measure 11 feet, 5 inches long, 5 feet 10 inches wide, and 4 feet 10 inches tall. Each shoe weighs over 1,500 pounds and can fit fifteen people, though visitors are encouraged not to climb inside. The attraction was verified by Guinness World Records on October 20, 2015.

The food is good. The servers are nice. Their hours are very inconsistent though which can be quite frustrating. You basically have to check their Facebook Page to see what the hours are or if they are open. And they do not have a lot of space now after opening gambling machines in the front so you may have to wait. Their Mexican food is better than the Mexican restaurant in town! Try the taco salad!

Tetzel Prime is a unique eatery in Casey, Illinois that offers a variety of made-to-order soft pretzels, ranging from savory options like pepperoni and cheese to sweet choices like cinnamon sugar and almond crunch. The shop provides an array of dipping sauces to complement the pretzels. Customers can enjoy their treats at the pick-up window designed as an old truck hood or inside the shop where they are greeted by friendly staff.
We spent the morning in Casey, IL, a town worth visiting for its unique shops and great food. Our first stop was the Crazy Beautiful Boutique, where we found the perfect dress for Emily’s winter ball. After that, we grabbed a coffee at Casey Coffee Company, a comfortable spot with excellent coffee. To finish the trip, we headed across the street to Trezel Prime, where the meal and service were top-notch. Casey’s combination of small-town appeal, quality shops, and great restaurants made for a productive and enjoyable outing.

I came here because of a viral Tik Tok and boy am I glad I did. This place was so good. We had a bacon ranch pretzel and the pretzel sticks. This place was extremely good, they have a cool outside seating area with various games with an outdoor order window too. It was worth the hype but their only negative is that their hours are awful. We spent the day in this town and every time we went by it was packed.

This place is awesome. I have been here 3 years ago and they still make the best pretzels in USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅. They make very good pretzels in many different ways and each one is good. I recommend people getting one savory and one sweet pretzels. Bonus points for Bible verses and sayings in the cafe. The Environment is so nice. We were traveling through the area and someone told us about Casey so we stopped to see all the big things and decided to have a pretzel as a snack really great place so much more than I expected, the Pretzel was hot out of the oven with a ton of cheese it was wonderful. (I still have to get used to the idea that in Illinois spaghetti sauce is much sweeter than anywhere else in the world, still it was really good.) Really nice family owned place. They have a really beautiful venue upstairs if you have an event in the area. Great people, yummy prezels, beautifully designed space. Photo of the upstairs venue

The World's Largest Knitting Needles and Crochet Hook are a must-see attraction in town. While there, visitors can also shop for knitting, crochet, and weaving supplies at this downtown business.

Something near and dear to Bobbie's heart (she's really big on crochet), these did not disappoint. The knitting needles are in the outside wall, the crochet hook is inside the business. Now maybe she can finally crochet me a suit that is a full replica of myself, only bigger...

These are amazing! They are placed in the store windows (two separate store windows for the crochet hook and knitting needels) with their guiness book certifications. My daughter and I love crocheting, so she was really excited about these and happy we got to see them even though the stores were closed. They were the trickiest for us to find, as we weren't looking in the windows initially. Love this small town or large things!

You can see these through the window of the shop, which is only open Thursday-Sat (Oct). Great story about how the lady used the needles to actually knit, and also sat on the edge of the giant rocking chair once to knit... incredible, since they weigh 25 pounds each!

Surrounded by other big things, it's a quirky roadside attraction and worth a stop to see. The point isn't too sharp and the eraser gets rid of big mistakes. Welcome to Casey!

Can’t miss it, right along Main St. Was difficult to photograph because it’s so big and has detail like the eraser. Cool piece.

Worth the walk ! It was fun ! The pencil was large and you need to get a photo in front of it. I enjoyed seeing this giant pencil. It was very big.

We visited this little town with some BIG attractions. Walking about the town was incredibly relaxing and fun. The colors of the flowers planted about the town were stunning. Each attraction had its way of bringing out the inner child. From climbing stairs inside the mailbox to ringing the Wind Chimes. Interactive displays brings so many to this little place in Illinois. Its a must see. So enjoyable. And best price, Its Free!

This is oftentimes mistaken for the world's largest this one is unfortunately only a supersize replica of a teacher's favorite pencil. Scripture: "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart." Matthew 3:3

La Hacienda is a hidden gem that you simply can't overlook while traveling through Kansas City. This delightful spot offers an impressive array of dishes catering to both meat lovers and vegetarians, ensuring everyone finds something to enjoy. The kitchen staff is accommodating, making it easy to customize your order. The friendly waitress adds a personal touch by serving refreshing drinks alongside complimentary chips and salsa.
Waiter, cook, host same person. Nice young man. Food was great. Had Burrito cheese steak. Wife had chicken chimichanga. Will return

To be honest it was the oddest Mexican food I've ever experienced. I had the chilies pablano and beef chimichanga. The pablano wasn't anything like what I'm used to. It wasn't coated with the egg white or actually stuffed. The cheese was under the pepper, egg was cooked separately with yolk and placed on top of the pepper. The beef inside the chimichanga had a hint of cinnamon in it. The rice tastes like long grain wild rice blend. Not what I expected at all. I'm a Mexican food addict and I cook lots of Mexican dishes at home. My husband makes the best chili pablano and chili relleno I've ever had in my life, normally our family dislikes his cooking lol. He had the pork carnasada dish, he says it's like a Mexican pot roast and he liked it. He did say he wished it came with sour cream and guacamole.

I have traveled the world. I know good food. My wife and I enjoyed the food here. I was concerned about the service until I realized what was happening. The young man who waited on us was the waiter, the cook, the cashier, the bus boy and everything else. If you have ever been to Germany this is very common. Usually there it is a husband and wife team. If you have ever served / waited tables then you will understand what a monumental task this young man is doing. Sure, the service was slower but he had 5 tables when we got there. You have to give this kid credit. His family is just trying to make a good living like everyone else. And you know what, the food was great both times we went there.

Love mexican food but this place was horrific. Tables have food all on sides. Chips were stale. Even the to go box had some kind of old brown grease all on it. On top of that, they over charged us then got attitude once we asked why it was so high. Just moved here, will never go back to this place. I'll drive to Charleston.

Never again will I bring my family here... The tables had food encrusted on the sides, the tea was gross the kids recieved straight carbonated water instead of sprites and the chips and queso were very clearly stale.the to go boxes were covered in a greasy oil all over. It was over priced and underqualified... We will never go there again... They need the health inspector to come through.... Never have i felt that i needed a shower after leaving a resteraunt. Wish i could give a 0. The pictures are so inaccurate of this place too... Never would i bash a place for having issues here and there but this place was a disaster and it literally is food poisoning waiting to happen....

Went here with my kids and parents and we had a very disturbing experience. First off, there were flies all around us so we spent the lunch waving them off. They use a greasy bitter white cheese on everything including their Mac and cheese. My daughter found strips of plastic in her Mac and cheese. The bathrooms... The girls toilet wouldn't flush and the boys was very clogged and messy. We were the only ones in the restaurant and now we know why. I will never go back and feel like I just wasted money on a tummy ache. Thanks for nothing La Hacienda.... U don't even deserve 1star.

CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE! This was a special find in the middle of our travel onto Kansas City. The food was good, great entrée selections for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The kitchen staff was flexible w our order. Our waitress was polite and friendly w our drinks and serving our chips and salsa. Surprisingly cheap lunch specials aprox. $7/plate for a ton of food satisfying 4 hungry adult males and a lady. Happy w our stop from someone with ridiculously high mexican food standards.

Not overly happy with the food. It tasted OK but the meal I got was nothing like the description. When I questioned the waiter he said the substituted for what they had. Umm OK it was a little close to closing time but if your going to charge me full price all the items in the meal should be on my plate. I only substituted Chicken for the beef. I didn't get my Avacados l got guacamole..Yuck! No it's onions no peppers. I did get my refried beans and rice chicken and tortells . Did they charge me the full price for the all the Goods and steak...Yep... Steve Taco Fajitas was good but very small portioned. Service was good but a bit pricey for what we got so we probably won't be back anytime soon.
