Bayside in 4 days

If you only have 4 days to spend in Bayside, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Bayside, in Melbourne’s southeast, is known for its string of picturesque beaches, colorful Brighton Bathing Boxes and sweeping views across Port Phillip Bay. Visitors can stroll coastal trails and clifftop parks, explore historic precincts and galleries, or play a round at well-regarded golf courses. Its village-style shopping strips and cafés offer a relaxed, local feel while still being an easy train ride from central Melbourne.
With favorites like D.O.C St Kilda - Pizza & Pasta Bar, Sir William Fry Reserve, and Stokehouse Pasta & Bar, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Baia Di Vino and The Cerberus Beach House so you can get the best taste of Bayside while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Brighton Bathing Boxes, located about 12km south of Melbourne city center at Brighton Beach, are a collection of 82 brightly colored wooden beach huts dating back to the early 1900s. Originally used for changing into swimwear during the Victorian era, these iconic and much-photographed structures have become a staple of the beachfront. Each hut has its own unique design and character, making them a popular spot for tourists and locals alike to capture memorable photos.
Great spot lined with cute colourful and beautifully decorated bath boxes along the beach. Very popular spot for tourists, so there's plenty of carpark, along with a nice walking trail for nature lovers.

Loved the place. Picturesque. But Nothing much to do if you aint swimming though. 1 cafe near, and far from public transport. Idea. Can walk for an hour to Point ormond for a great look at the cbd and another 30 mins walk to st kilda. Bring water :) enjoy the waves
Paul V — Google review
A pretty sight to see! •cute little bathing boxes! •not much people when I visited because it was a rainy day •10-15 mins walk from the Brighton beach train station •a nice escape from the busy city, and just watch the waves and birds by the beach •recommended to visit only when you have extra time to spare
BA — Google review
A famous spot to visit when in Melbourne. We stopped here briefly just to “check-in” and take some photos with the brightly coloured bathing boxes lining the beach. Each one is uniquely painted and looks great in pictures. The area was smaller than I expected, but still worth a short visit. We took a stroll, snapped some photos, and left after a while. There’s also a café if you want to sit and enjoy the beach view.
Leh P — Google review
Beautiful and picturesque in every weather…visited this Melbourne postcard perfect attraction on a chilly rainy windy hail stormy day and still managed to get beautiful pictures for the memories. Less likely to be crowded on weekdays. Weekends are too busy on this very popular beach.
Arundhati K — Google review
I visited the iconic Brighton Beach bathing boxes and really enjoyed the experience. It’s a lovely walk along the beach and the colorful huts make the whole place feel vibrant and unique. A great spot for photos, a relaxing stroll and enjoying the seaside atmosphere.
Barbara Ž — Google review
They are a bit of a walk from the train station but we'll worth it. There's a pub along the way and a really nice Cafe with hot food when you arrive there. Other than that it's worth seeing all the million dollar mansions that align the foreshore road until you get there.

Brighton Bathing Boxes is one of Melbourne’s most iconic and picturesque spots! These colorful beach boxes are perfect for stunning photos and capturing vibrant memories. The beach is peaceful and clean, with a lovely café nearby, public toilet and plenty of parking. A must visit location for tourists and local’s looking for that postcard perfect view definitely worth having a photo from here on your desk!

Foreshore Reserve offers a delightful location for picnics on the scenic cliff edge, providing breathtaking views of the city skyline in the distance. However, it can be quite windy and chilly, so remember to bring a jacket. This spot is also popular for wind surfing enthusiasts, with plenty of parking available and benches for seating. Furthermore, there is a lovely shaded area that serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the Bay Trail.
First time driving to Brighton and discovered this awesome little spot by the beach. Carpark with metre parking. Icecream truck. Plenty of paths along the esplanade above and along closer to the water and sand. Would have loved a path closer to the beach that goes along to the beach huts. But still a very cool spot full of shade spots and seats and benches for relaxing and socialising.
Lochy B — Google review
Amazing views from this point, and beautiful place to relax in the grass under the sun. You are very close to Lifesavers houses by foot and you can park straight there in the parking spot paying meter.
Juan A — Google review
Beautiful little beach. Attended a sound healing and ecstatic dance event here and it was really fun! Just a beautiful little setting! Clean and cute! Good view of the city and coast line.
Jill W — Google review
Great area with wonderful views. Parking nearby can be a bit pricy so it's generally a good idea to park at the train station and walk over. The park is well maintained and the beachside has good views of both the Melbourne skyline and all the ships in the bay. Good spot for a picnic or relaxing walk.
Haohan L — Google review
This place in Brighton along Bay Road ,has a 180 degrees view of Port Phillip Bay.There are benches and seats strategically placed for picnics or lunch breaks. The toilets are clean and opened during the day.

We had picnic on the cliff edge and it was so lovely. The views are gorgeous and you can see the city skyline from there in the distance. It can get pretty windy and cold so take a jacket. It seems like a great spot for wind surfing as there were plenty of people doing that. There's lots of parking and a few benches for seating.
Priscilla J — Google review
Relaxing park and great place to picnic or have a bite to eat. There are some tables and chairs and a pavilion. Great views of the city and Brighton Beach. The only bad thing is the public toilets are a long way away but otherwise 5 stars.

Nice view and very peaceful! We have met with heaps of local families. Also many dog walkers around. This place has amenities and it is recommended for families with their kids.

Sandringham Beach is a fantastic destination with great views and stunning sunsets. While parking may be limited, there are additional spaces available on the side roads. The top of the beach offers public toilets, water fountains, and pleasant walks. Dogs are required to be on leash for the most part. It's conveniently located near Sandringham center and provides clean sand worth visiting.
A hidden paradise! 🌅 The beach is surrounded by lush greenery, giving it a secluded and peaceful feel. The water is warm, and the sand is soft. There are a few local vendors selling fresh fruits and drinks, making it an even better experience!
Tuçi — Google review
It is a nice stretch of sand from the Sandrigham Yacht Club car park at Picnic Point via the Sandrigham Life Saving club and up to Red Bluff. Red Bluff, the highest cliff on Port Phillip Bay, is the reference location for the Red Bluff Sandstone formation which constitutes the best part of the cliff. The beach is sheltered from Beach Road traffic noise by tall cliffs, hence it is a steep slope to the sand from the car parks and paths above. There are public toilets either end of the beach. If you have dogs and like to exercise them off lead, best period to come is from 1 April to 31 October when dogs are welcome all day long without restrictions. During the summer period off leash dog walking is only permitted before 10am. See attached sign for full dog rules. Parking for non Bayside parking permit holders is metered.
Ria — Google review
Victoria isn't known as a beach destination given the colder weather but it does have plenty of beaches that are near towns that are nice to walk along. This is one of them.
Lasitha P — Google review
Easy to access, small town beach, calm great beach. I recommend visiting at least once.
Caine M — Google review
The beach front town of Sandringham and its beaches are absolutely beautiful. Just about half an hour away from Melbourne CBD by train, it offers something significantly different from the hustles of the city and into a relaxation and leisure that should be part and parcel of Melbourne's local life. A leisurely walk on the beach offers beautiful, unpolluted views of the sky, the southeastern coastline of Melbourne and the ocean. Many people bring their dogs for a happy stroll and the scenery is very soothing. I happened to go on a sunny day and managed to sunbathe for half an hour before having lunch at a restaurant in town. What a pleasant surprise.
Helen J — Google review
Great beach ideal for picnics not so much for swimming. Excellent for sunsets
Shannon L — Google review
I saw the beach on a warm day with little wind and clear water, I was surprised the lack of people beautiful spot for beach and coastal walks, and swimming
Peter M — Google review
Beautiful, quiet beach with aesthetic rocky formations. Plenty of cafés and free local street parking nearby. Shore-adjacent nearby paid parking is available. Bathrooms are at the entrance tracks to the beach. The bay water is good for swimming. Comfortably shallow, but also murky.

Lookouts
I can’t believe this place is in Melbourne… It’s just about 40 minutes by bus and a short walk from Brighton Beach. Red Bluff Lookout — A breathtaking view from above . You can see Half Moon Bay Beach. Crystal clear water. Peaceful waves. Hidden right beneath the cliffs. It felt like my own secret slice of paradise. Totally worth the trip
Hiromi — Google review
Red Bluff Lookout treats you to stunning, expansive views of Port Phillip Bay. It's a really picturesque spot to soak in the natural beauty. Just a heads-up though – parking can be a bit pricey, and they do have parking inspectors around, so make sure you're aware of the costs and any time limits to avoid a fine. Despite that, the view is definitely worth experiencing!
Marios T — Google review
Beautiful scenic walk up and down the coast around the Red Bluff. Especially sunsets, it turns to golden colour. Tranquil and peaceful.
Eva L — Google review
We walked here to catch the sunset. It was beautiful, but honestly not really worth the hike from Brighton Beach. It’s also hard to see the full view of Red Bluff from the trail, unless you manage to make your way down to the beach.
Benjamin W — Google review
Breathtaking sunsets to witness! The walking tracks are beautiful and well maintained. Amazing rock formations to look at from above the lookout or try another angle looking up at them from the sandy beach below. The ice cream truck there was a welcome surprise.
Lamis R — Google review
Went during sunset and honestly couldn't see much of the cliff from the lookout itself. Headed down to the beach and can't see the cliffs from there too. Unless this is a stop along the way, wouldn't recommend coming. There's parking available but it's $6.20/hr. If you don't want to pay, head to the residential lanes on the other side of the road for free roadside parking (but try not to park too long there).
Jill J — Google review
40 mins drive from Berwick. Amazing views of the beach from the cliff. Mild style of hiking, kids loved it. If you want your kids to experience hiking for the first time then this would be the place to choose. Some greasy debris was present across along some areas which you can ignore. Interestingly saw many pregnant women doing a lot of photo shoots which was kinda cute. Very photographic places...enjoy the lookout
Sudha R — Google review
Nice peaceful place. Brighton is more happening. The landscape is a bit different. It's not as huge as i portrayed it to be. Good place to relax.

Sports Complexes
Dendy Park is a popular destination known for its expansive green spaces and diverse recreational activities. It offers various sporting facilities such as soccer fields, tennis courts, and a well-maintained running track. The park also features three playgrounds catering to different age groups and fitness equipment spread throughout the area. Additionally, there is a dedicated off-leash area for dogs with ample amenities like water bowls and waste disposal stations.
Our happy place. Lots of space for off lead dog walking. Lots of waste stations with doggy bags. Plenty of shade in summer. Just wonderful.
Michelle S — Google review
My childhood was spent here. Dendy Park is one of the most versatile and family-friendly open spaces in the area, offering something for everyone—from serious athletes to playful kids and energetic dogs. With multiple well-kept soccer ovals, it's a popular hub for both competitive matches and casual kick-arounds. The fields are spacious and maintained to a high standard, making it a favourite for local clubs and weekend warriors alike. One of the standout features is the large, modern playground that’s perfect for kids of all ages. It includes a separate sand play area, ideal for toddlers who love digging and exploring. The equipment is safe, diverse, and encourages creative, active play. Parents can relax nearby knowing their little ones are entertained for hours. Fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of the running track that loops around the park, offering a scenic and motivating environment for jogging or walking. Meanwhile, dog owners love Dendy Park for its open spaces where dogs can run freely, especially in the designated off-leash areas. Clean toilets, shaded seating, and good parking round out the park’s excellent amenities. Whether you’re there for sport, relaxation, or a bit of both, Dendy Park delivers a top-quality outdoor experience for the whole community.

Dendy Park in Brighton is such a beautiful and spacious place! The off-leash dog area is amazing — plenty of open space for dogs to run, play, and make new friends. It’s always clean and safe, and the people there are friendly too. My dogs absolutely love it — one of the best spots in Melbourne for dog owners!
Saeed M — Google review
Fantastic place to take kids. Has 3 kids playgrounds (the main large Dendy Play area, toddler area and one piece equipment on Cummins Road side) and really really popular. Don't forgot to take cash for the ice-cream van (like I did). Also dotted throughout park fitness equipment, painted bright orange so you can't miss. Dendy Park is an off leash park but pity of the 99% of dog owners who do the right thing always the odd one who doesn't (even with the bins and bags Dendy Park provides). Path for joggers and walkers to follow, or not, of course! 5.2 so lovely on a sunny Saturday afternoon and place packed with dogs and their owners, such a great off-leash park. This really is a great park for families and thank goodness they now have bathrooms! 12.12 fireworks! Last year cancelled, thankfully weather OK for tonight.
Sam K — Google review
Took my dog here for her first time today and she thoroughly enjoyed the many diverse and friendly dogs to socialise with and the ample space. There are toilets, water dispensers, a playground, scattered bins, and poop bags provided too.
R — Google review
Great park with many people. Very open and fees nice. Toilets could be in more places and the playground us just ok.
Thuy V — Google review
Pleasant area to take your dog for a walk or run. Huge off leash and on leash areas, and plenty of other dogs to socialise with. Amenities includes toilet facilities, BBQ areas and several car parks with ample space for the most part. There's also a children's play area that's quite large and sports facilities. Grass and park is well maintained and there's a dedicated circular path around some of the park. Can get busy on the weekends or when there's organised events, but a pleasant place for the dogs nonetheless!

Landcox Park is a picturesque and spacious park with well-kept surroundings, making it a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts. There are playgrounds for children, BBQ facilities, bathrooms, and plenty of shaded areas to relax. The vast grassy lawn provides ample space for picnics or simply enjoying the outdoors.
A peaceful and relaxing park with a beautiful lake, tall trees, BBQ facilities and a playground. Nice for families, children and dogs. Enjoy watching the ducks and birds in the pond but don’t feed them. There are public toilets.

A small park with a feature lake and a playground. The whole park is on lead only walking for dogs. A cute fairy house under one of the large trees on the East lawn. There are ducks and turtles on the lake. Two toilets and several water fountains, one with a built in dog water bowl.
Ria — Google review
A great park with a lake and ducks! I wish my local park had a lake. Landcox Park has a nice play area for kids and lots of space to run around, walk dog on lead (hello ducks) and have picnics / bbq's and more.
Sam K — Google review
Beautiful and spacious little park, very well-kept. Love to see the wildlife around the lake and the views in general are quite wonderful. There’s a small playground, rubbish bins and bathrooms here. The path is pleasant to walk along and lots of people bring their kids and/or their dogs out here. Also benches to sit down, but the grass area is so vast that you could also settle down on the lawn for a picnic as well. A truly lovely find!

This is a bit of a hidden gem. Gym equipment for seniors. Play area for the kids. A large pond. Nice lazy Sunday afternoon outing

A beautiful and well-kept park. There's a wonderful lake with lots of wildlife near the centre and the grounds are generally in good condition. Dogs are allowed in the park on leash, and there's public toilets, benches and plenty of rubbish bins within the park. There's a nice place nearby too which is great and parking is roadside around the park.

A great find. Such a lovely park. It was a bit windy at the beach, so I looked up local parks and this one came up. It’s rich with bird life and the pond is teaming with ducks and fish. There were several families feeding the ducks at sunset. Super cute. Playgrounds, BBQs, toilets. Lots of shade when we were there and beautiful trees. It was a terrific park to visit.

Baia Di Vino is a restaurant in Sandringham, Victoria that offers modern-European dining with a subtle nod to the bay. The menu showcases Mediterranean cuisine and provides options for nibbling, sharing, or enjoying heartwarming dishes. Known for its Italian-style cuisine, Baia Di Vino promises a delightful dining experience with high-quality food and service. The focus at Baia Di Vino is on carbs, seafood, and wine.
Went there when I was spending time at the Sandringham beach. Nice vibes, cosy atmosphere. The food was really amazing! Creative flavours and beautiful presentations. Loved their dessert as well. Service was good. Such a lovely bistro close to the beach! Will definitely be back if I am around the neighbourhood.
Rona B — Google review
We had an absolutely wonderful lunch at Baia Di Vino! The food was incredible—every dish was bursting with authentic flavours. The service was excellent as well; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect. I left feeling very happy and satisfied. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fantastic Italian meal!
Genna N — Google review
Exceptional service and a memorable experience. Celebrated my 40th as a group of 12, we were seated along the windows which was open but still intimate. Everyone adored their food, the staff were attentive but not over bearing. Their detail towards dietary needs was greatly appreciated with diners who had coeliac and fructose sensitivities. It was a genuinely gorgeous experience and we wouldn’t hesitate to revisit.
Lady S — Google review
The food here was absolutely excellent — the scallops and the fish special were real standouts. Our waiter went above and beyond to make our experience memorable; my brother-in-law doesn’t drink alcohol and didn’t want a pale ale, so the waiter arranged to get Heineken 00s in just for him, which was such a thoughtful touch. We were celebrating a birthday, and the team marked the occasion beautifully — a candle and a quiet “Happy Birthday” that added just the right amount of charm without being over the top. I’ve eaten here before and will absolutely be back again. Consistently great food, lovely atmosphere, and service that makes you feel genuinely looked after. A true little gem in Sandringham!

What a fabulous venue for a surprise 50th birthday lunch treat thanks to a close girlfriend!! As an ex hospitality professional, she knows I love fine dining, amazing food, flavours and combinations and Baia Di Vino delivered on all levels..... The service was spectactular and we had so many laughs, I am so grateful to have friends who know me so well, as she absolutely nailed the lunch choice for a birthday afternoon delight. I will definitely be back! Photos starring: Beef Tartare in a brick pastry topped with horseradish and cornichons, Tuna carpaccio with pickled jalapenos, Beetroot ravioli filled with herbed goats cheese and roasted hazelnuts, Burrata with basil oil and grilled peaches, Lychee gelati on a rose granita with a lime syrup, Caramel chocolate mousse with vanilla toffee macadamia.
Vicky G — Google review
Baia Di Vino absolutely nails it! The oysters, crab taco, and tuna carpaccio were all winners..so fresh and well balanced. The lobster roll and croquettes hit that perfect comfort food spot, and the grilled octopus was simply next level. It was cooked so well and the caramelised dressing was perfection! The prawn risotto and ox tail pappardelle were rich, satisfying, and packed with flavour. Oh and those brussel sprouts should not be skipped! In addition to the menu being on point, the friendly service and great atmosphere, definitely makes it one to add to the rotation

Modern Australian restaurant
The Cerberus Beach House is a vibrant beachfront spot with stylish wooden decor, offering a variety of modern seafood dishes and shared plates. It's located in Half Moon Bay, Melbourne, making it an ideal place to savor classic fish and chips while enjoying iconic views. The restaurant prides itself on serving fresh, never frozen fish with light and airy batter cooked in cholesterol-free oil. Additionally, the upstairs dining area provides incredible views but tends to get busy, so booking ahead is recommended.
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch yesterday, thank you. We were grateful for a late move to a vacated window seat for our dessert and relaxing last drinks. Would have loved to order the seafood platter, but it seemed to be more of a grazing selection of the menu, with no fresh prawns or shellfish, so we made do with some shared entrees and mains. Still all very nice 👌

Exceptional Fish & Chips with Breathtaking Views! Cerberus Beach House is an absolute gem, and I can't recommend it enough – easily a 5-star experience! From the moment you arrive, you're treated to amazing views that perfectly complement the delicious food. I opted for the catch of the day, battered and perfectly fried with a generous portion of chips and a side of tartare sauce. It was absolutely superb; the fish was cooked to perfection – not oily at all, with a beautifully crisp batter. It was just the right amount, leaving me completely satisfied. Beyond the fantastic food and stunning scenery, the staff were incredibly friendly. Their welcoming demeanor and efficient service added to the overall enjoyment of my visit. If you're looking for a top-notch fish and chips experience in a beautiful setting, Cerberus Beach House is the place to go. I'll definitely be back!

Lovely places with a very lovely and friendly crew! The restaurant is located on the first floor, overlooking the sea and HMS Cerberus shipwreck while you dine - that's if you're lucky enough to secure a spot by the window! Overall great food - we ordered the Seafood Platter, Linguine and Sourdough Cob. The sourdough was served warm with a generous amount of yummy butter! The seafood platter is packed with a variety of seafood dishes from the menu and it's absolutely devine!! Loved it so much I'd go back just for this!! Overall a memorable experience. Thank you!
Wickd C — Google review
Went hiking nearby and decided to have lunch here. The portions were smaller than expected, especially the linguine, which was definitely more of an entrée size. I also didn’t see any mention that it would be so spicy, and I doubt it was due to being out of stock. The chips we had were at least 50% short and broken pieces, although the flavour was good. Not sure if they charge 10% extra on weekends, as the menu prices appeared to be GST exclusive. My personal rating: 3.7/5

This quaint little joint is hidden away at the bottom of the car park and right on the water. You can almost feel the spray on a windy day. Fresh seafood and great service. Book a table by the window and ask for the windows to be opened to get the full experience.

Great food. Great outlook onto Half Moon Bay. Whit bait fritters were a tasty start followed by the Pork Ctlet with cabbage bacon. The final leg was the delightful sticky date pudding. A delightful celebration for our wedding anniversary.

Came here for a Sunday Lunch, service, ambience and food was fantastic. The view gave us beautiful holiday feeling. Only a few things. We had prawns and sashimi, it was a bit overpriced for three prawns and a small portion of sashimi. One thing what we didn’t understand was the bathroom situation. 3 seperate bathrooms 2x women 1x men,- why not uni sex. However, we definitely will be back because it was an amazing lunch! The little things are just a personal feedback. Still 5 stars and if we could - 6!

Cafe
Dendy Deli is a beloved establishment that has been delighting patrons since the 1990s. This charming spot in Brighton offers a cozy atmosphere with ample seating both indoors and outdoors, making it perfect for any occasion. Whether you're stopping by for a quick takeaway or settling in for a leisurely meal, their falafel wrap—complete with tangy pickles—is a must-try.
It is very important which cafe or restaurant you choose to go to. If you want to taste a delicious cake with the aroma of coffee in Brighton, Dendy Deli is the place you are looking for. If you are happy with strong coffee, especially strong coffee, this is the right address. If you want a cake with low-sugar ingredients, full and high-quality taste... yes, this is the right address again. This couple is so beautiful here. Thank you.

Every business has its hey day and Dendy Deli's has well and truly expired. Sat down for coffee and cake. No visible table service so went inside and lined to order. In 5 minutes of waiting the owner acknowledged me twice, saying be there in a minute. During this time I noticed how understaffed they were...everyone running around in a flap. By the time I was attended to another 4 people were queing to pay. Maybe this is why they need a security guard inside a cafe to chase customers who dont want to wait ?! Went to order coffees and was told its table service only. Mentioned the lack of anyone taking orders and wanting to order and pay ...was refused. Such a ridiculous reply. Dendy Deli attracts a vintage demographic loyal to the days when this was THE place to meet. Plenty of better options with decent service on this awesome cafe strip.

Ordered a takeaway lemon meringue slice just for the lady behind the counter to squish it into a container. She additionally just stood over us while we were deciding and was very cold in service.

Dendy Deli is an institution and has been operating since the 90's I think. Have been here many times either to eat in or to takeaway a coffee and falafel wrap. I really like their falafel wrap with its pickle. There is lots of seating inside and out too. They have a large selection of cakes and my husband's favourite is their cheesecake. 5.6.25 called in for late lunch and I had falafel wrap and bowl of chips while husband had Aussie breakfast. Food was good and as usual could only eat half the wrap. Place was deserted and the usual display of tempting cakes was seriously underwhelming. Look it's good for a quick meal and as long as you don't expect anymore you'll be fine.

We grabbed a pizza here at 9:10pm after being told the kitchen closes at 9:30. The base was uncooked and all the ingredients cold apart from boiling hot cheese? Had to take it home and cook it to be able to make it edible. The young bloke cleaning up needs a full attitude adjustment or not work in hospitality at all. Very dissapointed and won’t be frequenting this establishment again👎🏻👎🏻

From the outside it looks exciting and makes people want to come in and try. We arrived and was greeted straightaway! Great thought good start of customer service, we sat down and ordered coffee, shortly after that we were asked what we would like to eat. I hadn’t had time to look at the menu so just ordered a basic egg and bacon avacado on toast. My children ordered croissant. The food was average and didn’t have a lot of taste. The coffee was weak and so was the milk shake. When we went to pay the bill came to $90.00! I nearly died and thought I know cost of living has gone up and it’s a public holiday but 15% surcharge is a lot when you aren’t expecting it have it advertised your charging that amount.

It was my 1st time at Dendi Deli & I'm not happy with the food & service. I ordered mixed berry cheesecake where I could find any mixed berry flavour or compote but there was a mixed berry flavoured jelly which was okayish. I also ordered a bowl of chips for $12 which was so less in quantity. It lacked salt. Additionally, they handed us the coles ketchup bottle instead of giving us a bowl to pour it. It was so inconvenient to eat the chips and having poured the sauce on the same bowl as the chips. I think having paid so high the service & food could have been better.

Wanted a big breakfast, decided to try to be healthier. Had a pasta. I could have done a Ron Swanson and ate _all_ their bacon and _all_ their eggs and still been healthier than the death-by-cream and cheese attack that was the pasta I just (half) ate.

Restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
Pantry is a relaxed restaurant with a brick-lined interior and outdoor seating, offering reimagined local dishes for brunch. Visitors rave about the memorable breakfast experience, particularly praising the special Qld king prawn roll and Kabir scrambled eggs. The attentive service and knowledge of the specials by the waitstaff are also highlighted. Additionally, Pantry Brighton is commended for its handling of events, such as a basketball reward night where they efficiently catered to multiple teams and families.
We had a late breakfast at Pantry today for the first time. Service was fairly quick and the food was delicious, although they have kind of the same breakfast options like all the other cafes, because of the bolder spicing they tasted really nice. The atmosphere was okay, however it is not exactly our favorite type of establishment with its ‘dark’ ambience. Overall we had a good experience, it’s worth giving this place a try if you’re in the area.
Aniko K — Google review
Delicious food! A really chill atmosphere, even though it's busy it was not too loud or crowded. I don't usually eat eggs out because I am conscious about where they come from, however Pantry specifies where they source their local free range eggs!

Someone told me it’s a nice place so we went there and had lunch. Nice and delicious food, the salmon tasted like Shanghainese style cuisine, a bit little sweet, we all like it.
Jenny H — Google review
I don't know why it took me so long to ever try a meal here. It's always busy, with lines out the door at times, and people lining up for take away coffees. Tried it today for the first time ever, and I was glad I did. The breakfast and brunch menu have some different items than the rest of the cafes in Melbourne (who all have pretty much the same menus). While I only chose the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon, the others in the group had different items, and we all enjoyed what we had. The service is friendly, the decor is lovely, the food is tasty. IF I had to be picky over anything, it would be the pricing. I do think some items were really high, especially for things you can easily make at home. Also, there was no effort made at all to allow for substitutions in a meal. With that said, I'd definitely come back again. It was also a really nice touch that they gave me a complimentary cupcake with sparkler for my birthday. It just made the whole experience that little nicer still.

Ambience- Check. Service- Check. Food- Check. Could not fault this place. The people were lovely and the food was so yummy. I got the breakfast roll- normally not a fan of avocado but I didn’t take it out and glad I didn’t. They catered to our requests without hesitation - extra marshmallows for my hot choccie and extra toast and butter. My partner got the crab scrambled eggs and he loved it. Would highly recommend! Keep up the good job guys!

⭐ 1/5 – Disappointing Experience at a Venue We Once Enjoyed We’ve dined at The Pantry in Brighton several times before and have always enjoyed it — but unfortunately, our most recent visit with the family was deeply disappointing. We ordered the calamari, prawn linguine, kids burger, kids pantry breakfast, a side of chips, and sparkling water. While the food (apart from one dish) was passable, the service and handling of a very basic concern ruined the entire experience. The main issue was with my child’s meal: the Kids Pantry Breakfast, which is described on the menu as a gooey soft egg served with Vegemite & cheese toast soldiers and chocolate milk. Instead of a gooey egg, what arrived was clearly a cold, pre-cooked, over-boiled egg — broken into uneven torn pieces, resembling 1.5 boiled eggs and certainly not fresh. It was nearly impossible to dip the now-stale toast soldiers into this egg, completely defeating the purpose of the dish. When I raised this with our waiter and pointed out the discrepancy between what was served and what’s advertised on the menu, I was met with dismissiveness: “That’s how we do it.” I had to explain again — politely but firmly — that this wasn’t what the menu described. He said he’d check with the chef, and returned moments later with the exact same egg we had sent back, now even colder than before. Again, we were told, “That’s how it’s done.” A second waiter then stepped in, repeating the same line. The interaction became frustrating and uncomfortable. I asked — reasonably — why it’s so difficult to simply serve the dish as advertised, and why we were stuck in a back-and-forth over a basic soft egg for a child. Eventually, they brought out poached eggs in a bowl of water, which was not only visually unappealing but also clearly proved the original egg was not freshly made, as we suspected. By this point, the toast was cold and inedible, the rest of our meals had gone cold, and the table was filled with tension. It turned what should have been a relaxed family lunch into a frustrating and unpleasant experience. The staff were inattentive, defensive, and dismissive — lacking even the basic customer service skills to acknowledge a simple error and resolve it with professionalism. Instead, they doubled down on excuses and deflected the issue, creating unnecessary conflict over a child’s egg. Frankly, it’s unacceptable for a venue of this standard — especially one that’s positioned as family-friendly — to behave this way over something so small and easily fixable. We won’t be returning, and sadly, I can no longer recommend The Pantry as the quality of both the food and service has clearly declined.

Great overall shopping centre. Not too big so it’s easy to navigate with kids. The weekly free Kids Club is our favourite part and my daughter loves coming every week. Shout out to Mel who runs the session. She’s the loveliest and friendliest lady!

We love kids club. There are lots of engaging activities to look forward to. We often meet Mel who is absolutely delightful and very kind to us always. Jenny is very lovely too. One recommendation would be to have it on more than 1 day as we miss attending it while at kinder on Wed. Would be great to have something on a Thu or Fri.

Love the variety of restaurants near the Cinemas unlike the usual food court choices. Enjoyed a great spicy MiGoreng Rice with Prawns and Chicken meal with chilled coconut juice which had actual tender coconut slices at a Malaysian laksa restaurant. Lovely service too. Love to dine there again.

Southland provides motor scooters to those who need assistance in mobilizing around this large shopping mall. 3hr use works very well for accessing shops and stopping at a cafe. The scooters can be booked ahead by phone. Concierge desks are the pick up and drop off points. The staff have been very helpful and friendly. Thanks to Southland for providing these which allow me to continue visiting a shopping centre I’ve been coming to for nearly 40 years, despite my medical issues.

I love Southland. I have been coming here since I was a kid and have witnessed great change (extending over Nepean Hwy) while some things are missed (rooftop garden, department store furniture room displays, newsagent), but I keep coming back as it has nearly everything you want under one roof, movies, lots of food options and a variety of shops. Anyway everytime I visit a wave of nostalgia washes over me even if the place is so different to when record store, stretch jeans, glitzy 80's dresses, ticket outlet, the donut shop (where they had an American style counter where you could sit and watch each donut being made), chocolate shops and more were there. So yes visit for what you want to see, what you want to eat, and what you want to buy, meet your friends there and create your own memories of good times at Southland. 25.10 movies, sushi, coffee and yes a bag. 11.11. Movies, Aldi, Big W, BD and more! 26.12 yes here on Boxing Day and actually caught train to Southland station. Wanted to get new runners and we also had meal at TGI's. Not as packed as I thought it would be. 2024 have been here for movies, sushi, pancakes and more. 24.2.25 what is happening Southland? So many stores closed, really sad to see. I knew the Greek wouldn't last bit sorry to see it go. And anyway always seems to be renovating. 19.5.25 Disney pop-up store, had to check that out before movies! Also tried new Thai restaurant. 26.5 went and visited new stores, Zone Bowling, Timezone, Zeus Street Greek and the revamped DJ'S. I LOVE Southland and went for a job as a concierge clerk but was unsuccessful! I know, so wrong...I'm very very good at customer service, I'm familiar with the layout and have been visiting for a LONG time, but hey that's life..

MoPA: Museum of Play and Art is a newly opened play center located on Bay Road, just across from ALDI. It's designed for children up to 9 years old and features a blend of art and play in a vibrant, open layout. Sessions last 2 hours on weekends and 3 hours on weekdays, offering activities like story time, art and craft, and dance parties. The staff are friendly and attentive, inviting kids to join in the various activities.
We had my son Levi’s 3rd birthday at MOPA Sandringham and it was fantastic! The kids loved playing, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was great for both kids and adults. Lolly bags were a hit and everyone went home happy (and tired!). Highly recommend for kids’ parties.

This place is awesome, visited with a friend and both our toddlers had an absolutely amazing time! Live pictures/paintings, slides, dance rooms, interactive activities, story time, car paintings, dance parties and more. No outside food allowed, cafe available inside. Bookings highly recommended, I like how they crowd control (you get a 2 hour session) allowed our kids enough space to move around in within their session. The whole area is very clean too. There's a decent sized parking lot outside, but since it's shared with other services and shops in the area, can be quite hard to find a spot. Price guide (as of Aug 2025): $18 adults $24 child (1 - 18 years) $5.09 for small cloudy apple juice on card

A positive experience! Staff were welcoming and helpful. Plenty of space to move around. Felt comfortable. Other venues we have been to are too overcrowded. The colours are very pleasing to the eye and not overwhelming. Educational AND entertains the children - a win for the adults!

My family and I spent a wonderful morning at MoPA on Thursday. We were very impressed with the facilities and staff. The range of child friendly activities and experiences kept our 4 children from ages 4-8 entertained and engaged for hours, we could've stayed there for the whole day, and we will definitely be back. The opportunities for learning through hands-on exploration were fantastic and would highly recommend.

Honestly worth their weight in gold. We just celebrated my husband and daughter’s birthdays here (40th and 1st). Once I had made the list of invites there was 54 adults and 30 kids. I was so stuck as to where can you go to accommodate that. Then MOPA came and stole the show. They have an alcohol license so the adults could enjoy a beer, coffee machine soft drinks ect ect. The staff basically entertained all the kids the whole time so the kids all had an amazing time as did their parents. Thank you so much MOPA. Everything was a breeze.

What an excellent educational and fun space for kids! The site is large (hence not noisy and not chaotic), very clean, and nice for parents to hang out whilst the kids play in a safe environment. Staff are very friendly and helpful as well. This is a fantastic concept and we will definitely be back!

The staff was awesome. Very professional and helpful. They spoke to the birthday boy throughout and made sure he was happy. The staff coordinated things well. Our birthday room was a great size and decorated nicely. Activities were good at the place for the children. They provided trolleys at the end to carry presents to car and also assisted.

Nature & Parks
Nestled in the heart of an urban landscape, Sir William Fry Reserve is a delightful escape for nature lovers and families alike. This spacious park boasts a variety of features that cater to everyone’s needs. With ample open areas perfect for leisurely strolls or energetic dog runs, it also includes an off-leash section where furry friends can frolic freely. Families will appreciate the well-equipped playground that invites both children and playful adults to unleash their inner child.
A great park for a picnic, BBQ, to walk the dog, go for a jog or let the kid run wild. There's plenty to do with a playground, BBQ area with seating, large grassed area for dogs to run off leash and a lovely water/lake area. Perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon!

Open park, great for dogs. The playground is good for smaller kids, although getting a bit run down. There are also basic BBQ and picnic facilities and toilets. It's going to (eventually) be a construction site for the SRL.

A pleasant park with an off-leash dog area, playground, lake to walk around and plenty of open grass area. There are plenty of benches and seating areas in addition to several car parks. Toilets located within, and a great location to take the dogs for a walk.

This is an awesome little park in the middle of an urban environment. It has a nice open area for walking as well as an off leash area for dogs to have a run around. BBQ and kids play areas are also available here which make it a good place all round. The only down side is that there don't seem to be any dog waste bags available (which is not terrible as long as you bring your own) which is the norm in many other parks. Overall, it's a park and that's way better than a block of flats 👍
Tyrone B — Google review
It had everything a park should have: it was large size, undulating, with trees of different type with room for a dog to run, a cool playground for the kids, including those adults that still like to be kids, off street parking, toilet facilities tables and a BBQ area. A bonus was it was clean with little litter except for the supermarket trolley that someone had pushed into the lake.

Cheltenham Park is a popular destination in the area, offering ample open spaces and amenities for visitors. It's a great off-lead area for pets, where everyone is friendly and relaxed with their dogs. The park is conveniently located in the heart of Cheltenham Vic, within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and the train station. Additionally, it borders a historic cemetery and is next door to a golf course.
A great place for walks and to take your dog! There's an off leash area for your dog, but be warned there are snakes in the area (particularly near the woodlands parts, which are clearly sign-posted). The grass area is great for picnics and there's quite a nice play area for children. Worth a visit for an hour or two!

This park is a local haven for bird life. Both native and invasive species are found here, including Rainbow Lorikeets and Wattlebirds. There are lots of good private spots to sit and enjoy the sounds and sights, as well as many walking paths that lead to different bush surroundings, making it an interesting place to go for a stroll within walking distance of shops and train station. The only thing that could be improved is the litter. Some of the more secluded parts of the park seem to be used by groups drinking alcohol and leaving their rubbish behind.

Great space pleanty of room to explore. Excellent for families and pets, mostly an on leash area for dogs, but with many trails through the park its easy to spend time in. Pleanty of surrounding ovals, picnic areas, seating and playground so easy to social distance evrn when busy. Close to the train and bus stations too.

McDonald's Cheltenham is a well-established, enduring fast-food franchise recognized for its hamburgers and fries. Recently, during a drive through Melbourne, the customer took advantage of the $2 Big Mac promotion on the Maccas app. Meanwhile, their spouse opted for the regular double McChicken. The customer also contemplated trying the chicken Big Mac but hesitated due to concerns about excessive bread.
This must be a lucky Maccas, because we won a free sundae here through their ‘Peel and Play’ rewards! Woohoo! Everything we ordered here (triple cheeseburger, fries, ice cream…) tasted pretty good! More Oreo in my McFlurry, as well as more fries in my large fries, would’ve been preferred, but they must be kindly thinking about my health, as my sugar and fat intake has been terrible as of late - so thank you! Also, shout out to the efficient service!

Everything is dirty: the order screens, the chairs, and: the trays! This is really disgusting. There were crumbs in the corner of the tray, and there was a lid of the sauce container from the previous person. See photos. Our table order took more than 20 minutes and me asking for it at the counter.
Michael W — Google review
I've only moved to this area recently, and i don't understand why the mcdonalds at this location is so bad. The bacon is always so dry that it's like leather. It'll be super dark and discoloured, too, like it's been sitting in the warmer for days. Half the time, the onions on my big Mac are forgotten, the two beef patties will be jammed in to one section of the burger together instead throughout the layers, you'll get one single pickle (and it'll be the size of a 5c piece), sauces are forgotten (HOW IS THIS SO HARD?), sauces are forgotten, sauces are forgotten, did i mention that sauces are forgotten? I did, however, receive sauces in my last order, but have a look at the Mac sauce I paid for. They barely have me a few drops and this has happened a couple of times now. I think this all comes down to bad management. All the mistakes seem deliberate. Nobody accidentally puts 2 drops of sauce in a container and thinks it'll be fine, or put a piece of bacon that's so dry and old that it's like plastic. These accidents are deliberate because the staff don't care and management aren't keeping on top of their staff properly.
Anita M — Google review
Don’t park in the waiting bay to wait for your coffee. They’ll forget it. You go in to remind them. They then make 2 other hot drinks before they make yours - the one they forgot. Hopeless

McDonald's Cheltenham could be a decent fast-food stop, but unfortunately, the experience is severely let down by poor management. While the food is typical McDonald's quality and the location is convenient, the service—particularly from the manager—is unacceptable. The Positives The drive-thru and self-serve kiosks make ordering easy, and when the food is fresh, it’s decent. Some of the staff are friendly and try their best under what seems to be poor leadership. The late-night availability is also a plus. The Negatives The biggest issue is the management. The manager at this location is incredibly rude and dismissive. Rather than addressing concerns professionally, they come across as uninterested, unhelpful, and at times, outright condescending. My personal experience was frustrating—I was treated poorly, and any attempt to resolve an issue was met with an attitude that made it clear customer service is not their priority. This lack of leadership reflects on the overall service. Orders are often incorrect, wait times can be unnecessarily long, and staff seem either overwhelmed or indifferent. Cleanliness is also a problem, with tables left dirty for far too long and bins frequently overflowing. Final Thoughts I wouldn’t recommend this location unless you have no other option. The food is standard, but the service—especially from the manager—makes for an unpleasant experience. A little respect and professionalism go a long way, and unfortunately, that’s sorely lacking here.

Grabbed a Large Chocolate Shake from the Drivethru Today at about 1pm. Bugger All Chocolate in it. Maybe a bit in the swirl for colouring but. That's about it. 🙁 Also noticed the size of the Cups have reduced. Not in length but in Diameter. Probably thought we wouldn't notice 🤔 ??!!

If you're in Cheltenham and craving a delicious meal, look no further than Domino's Pizza Cheltenham. This popular delivery and carryout chain serves up an extensive selection of pizzas alongside a variety of other tasty dishes and sides to satisfy any appetite. While enjoying dinner with friends or housemates, you can indulge in their mouthwatering offerings. Just keep in mind that the location could benefit from improved hand wash facilities or hand sanitiser for added convenience. Overall, it's a great spot to grab a bite!
Came here for dinner with a housemate. Everything was great except the lack of hand wash facilities/ hand sanitiser.

After ordering Pizza pots from this location - two things I found inside them. 1) totally raw tomato paste and 2) a piece of plastic from one of the ingredient packages. It was sharp enough to cause a slight damage to my gum. I tried calling the number available to raise this privately and no answer.

$47 for two small pizzas and a 1 hour delivery. The pizzas were actually nice, but the delivery driver dropped 2 or 3 deliveries before ours, pushing the delivery time back and was over an hour from ordering to being delivered. Then when the pizzas arrived, allegedly LARGE pizzas, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Small/medium sized pizzas, no where near a large! I messaged customer service and was offered a voucher for 1 pizza and a side. Declined their offer. Won’t be getting a dominos again.

I ordered peri peri chicken and found the pizza dough to be dry and uneven. The taste was also poor, and it was clear that the dough wasn't fresh. I won't be ordering pizza from this restaurant again, as it was a total waste of my money. I'm requesting a refund.

Too inconsistent with the New Yorker pizzas. When they are stingy on the marinara sauce the whole thing becomes dry so if you are picky like me then ordering the New Yorkers is always a risk lol. Also a few months ago (17/02) they sent me a regular size Buffalo chicken pizza instead of an Extra Large which is what I paid for. The toppings were really sloppy and had slid off in some areas when it was delivered to me. This was the first time my order had ever been so blatantly stuffed up. After seeing my feedback about the New Yorker they probably did it on purpose(?) I called up asking for a refund and he said he'd call back in 15 but never did.

Cafe
The Diplomat Cafe is a delightful brunch destination that perfectly blends modern aesthetics with a relaxed atmosphere. Nestled conveniently near the Highett train station, this cafe boasts high ceilings and ample natural light, making it an inviting spot for any meal of the day. The menu is a fusion of flavors, offering everything from hearty burgers to unique dishes like okonomiyaki and indulgent waffles. With options that cater to diverse tastes, there's something for everyone here.
We celebrated our move to Highett with breakfast at The Diplomat Café, and it couldn’t have been a better start! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service was attentive from the moment we walked in. We ordered the Mushroom Medley, which was well presented dish with sautéed kale, whipped feta, beetroot hummus, goji berries, and two perfectly poached eggs on multigrain toast—it was both vibrant and delicious. The burrito was nice and well balanced dish, making it a great choice for a more filling meal. The coffee was spot on, and the smoothie was fresh too. Overall, a wonderful spot, just next to Highett Train Station, to enjoy great food. Highly recommended for anyone in the area.

The food was so delicious. We went for breakfast and really liked all the dishes (Only the avocado extra was tough), but in general good. Unfortunately, the service was not as good as the food; the waiter forgot our order and we had to ask again, so we were there for a while. Additionally, other tables that arrived later than us were served before us

Great spot. Very friendly and helpful staff. Service was speedy. The ham and cheese toasted Croissant is the best Ive ever had. Would definitely recommend. Tea and coffee both good sizes. Everything is also reasonable priced.

This place is certainly popular! When we were there the place was packed inside and the only seating was outside and one poor family had no choice but to sit outside as cold as it was, so luckily we were just getting takeaway coffees! I had soy latte and husband had flat white and while mine was fine husband said his was one of the worst coffees he'd ever had! Would like to go and have a meal there as nice vegetarian options, including my fav, avocado smash. 5.8 next door for meal but they don't do coffee so called in here for takeaway decaf soy latte and flat white. And my decaf wasn't bitter like other places have given me recently.

A nice place to grab a bite. Food is well presented, nice atmosphere and can have a conversation without shouting across the table. Laid out for brunch and brekkies. Close to tram and a few other shops. All in all a great spot for gossip and food thanks Diplomat.

I hadn't been for years.. Visited yesterday lunch, no one in the store. Service was good however little overpriced. I paid. 5.50 for small bowl of mushrooms as a side to salmon bagel ( I asked for toast instead) Atmosphere is great, well spaced and colors light and plants hanging from ceiling. Ok revisted today 22/2/23 and staff remembered us and now regulars. P.s had chocolate cookie for dessert. Sweet tooth ? Perfect chunks of chocolate throughout and not dry 😋 perfect portion. My new favourite salmon Benedict! The flavours are amazing!!!!

I say it was average. As what all top chef always say... your eyes feast but your heart eats out. Good food is good food. When you experience something extraordinary it's an amazing experience. The Diplomats meals is a somewhere in the middle. So there's more room for improvement. I'll be back for more. And its kids friendly environment.

If someone asks me to recommend a place to have brunch in the bayside area, diplomat cafe comes out top on my list. Forget your usual eggs Ben and avo mash. Brunch served here screams fusion food. Can't imagine it? Check out the photos. Best part? The menu changes periodically. I think they have recently changed their coffee beans and that was a good move. This current one is much better. Situated right in front of the highett train station the cafe is easy to find. Parking here will test your patience.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled in the charming Bayside neighborhood of Beaumaris, Lobster Cave stands out as a must-visit destination for seafood lovers and fans of Australian cuisine. Just 20 kilometers southeast of Melbourne's bustling CBD, this delightful eatery is cherished by both locals and visitors alike. With a dedicated team boasting over thirty years of industry experience, you can expect not only exceptional service but also mouthwatering dishes that highlight the best of fresh seafood.
Been to Lobster Cave countless times for 30 years. we’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, weekend lunch, dinners and even take away during the lockdowns. No matter the occasion the quality has been great and we were always well looked after Con and team. I'm grateful for the memories it given us and look forward to many more.

Beautiful presentation and generous portions, with the lobster & prawn tart being the standout dish. The complimentary chocolate macaron & digestif to finish was a lovely touch. Service could’ve been more attentive, and one of our seats wasn’t very comfortable. While it was quite expensive, it was overall a decent fine dining once off experience.

We had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at The Lobster Cave today and were absolutely delighted. From the outside, it’s unassuming but step inside and you’re met with a beautifully styled interior that’s both elegant and inviting. The food was simply superb every dish was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. A special mention to Hayley, who looked after us throughout the meal. She was warm, attentive, and an absolute delight to chat with, making our experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality dining experience with exceptional service. We’ll definitely be back!

We loved our experience at Lobster Cave in Beaumaris! The seafood was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour — We had a gift voucher for our Anniversary which initially offered the seafood platter and was understandably changed due to the time we booked. The replacement meal was a 4 course which was amazing. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel special. Mentioning Hailey who was very attentive and an asset to the Lobster cave. It can be on the premium side, but the quality and service make it worth every cent. Perfect for a date night or special occasion. We Highly recommend! 🦞🍸

Avoid this place! Dishonest Business!! SCAM!! I strongly advise against visiting this place or purchasing any of their vouchers. I bought the $99.90 seafood platter for 2 voucher last year and booked online, specifically selecting the seafood platter option. When I arrived at the restaurant and mentioned I was redeeming the voucher, I was told they couldn’t honour it due to “lack of seasonal produce.” What they offered instead was the far less impressive “Cave’s Classic Catch” menu. When I questioned this — especially since their Instagram video showcasing the platter was the reason I bought the voucher — I was told they were “saving” the seafood for their Signature Platter for Two, which costs $499. So clearly, they do have the seafood — they just choose not to honour their advertised deals. The staff offered no apology, but a dismissive attitude. It was essentially “take it or leave it.” The substitute meal we were given was very disappointing: small portions and average tasting food. And to top it of, their service is extremely slow. This feels like a bait-and-switch scam. They lure customers in with flashy promotions and then refuse to honour the deal. It's dishonest, unethical, and extremely frustrating. I can see many others who have written reviews also had the same issue. Spend your money elsewhere. This place is NOT WORTH IT!!!

Fantastic experience with the weekend feast! Served quickly and attended to well we enjoyed the food tremendously. The eye fillet was incredible, cooked perfectly (without asking how I wanted it cooked), lobster was good, tempura prawns relish and scallops were lovely though the sauce was a bit too much but tasty. I asked if there was any milk chocolate dessert not expecting but requesting and they made me a delightful mousse that was amazing and worth this review due to their fantastic customer service. Drinks will add to the tab average around $20 a drink and sides like chips (always a must) and salad add to the savings but the portions are a great size. Fabulous overall, great standards, clean and so happy I visited again! Maroon with port was a wonderful finishing touch. They look after their customers. Thank you and we will be back again soon!!

Seafood are pretty good there, lots of wine were used to cook the bisque and baked lobster. If you are allergic pls be aware. Lamb loin was not a good choice, it’s overcooked. Side salad was mixed with lots of mustard, the tomatoes in the salad was a surprise- crunchy, juicy, powdery. Service isn’t great, don’t think I would go back again.

Ughh... I really didn't want to write this kind of review especially to such a renowned local that i have been coming to since i was a child when they had the tacky wallpaper and the big lobster out the front but alas here we are .....positives the staff were lovely the place was clean chairs were comfy but the food .....the food was terrible what I ordered is in the video, the lamb was served together with the beef some parts uncooked couldn't tell medium from the medium rare steak it was a disaster, no sauces no marinate no garlic butter no salt so it was dry and cold by the time we ordered the sauces seperately and they arrived....just terrible the seafood was bland but okay but pretty cheap Morton bay bugs dry as any thing prawns no flavour just relied on the fried aspect...the raw prawns i didnt expect to clean my self but they tasted fine...the lobster was alright ... look they tried to make it better by giving champagne i do appreciate that, but I dont drink alcohol so that made it worse i started to feel guilty about the whole thing ... $500 for really poorly cooked food was pretty disappointing they were shocked when I didn't eat most of it asking for me to take it home but honestly the food wasn't worth the paper to put it in which was really sad ....I really hope they fix this dish I ordered, simply by not cutting up prime cut steaks and putting it with undercooked lamb would be good.... maybe it was just a bad night I have no idea.

Luna Park Melbourne is a historic amusement park located in St. Kilda, a vibrant beachside suburb in Melbourne. Since its opening in 1912, this enduring attraction has been captivating both locals and tourists with its blend of old-school charm and modern rides. The park's star attraction is the Great Scenic Railway, the world's oldest continually operating roller coaster, offering stunning views of Port Phillip Bay.
Luna Park proved to be a truly enjoyable destination, offering a clean, vibrant, and family-friendly atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The park has clearly put effort into maintaining its grounds and facilities, creating a welcoming environment where visitors of all ages can relax and have fun. Whether you’re visiting with young children, teenagers, or adults who love a bit of nostalgia, there is something here for everyone to enjoy. One of the standout qualities of Luna Park was the staff. Every team member we encountered was upbeat, approachable, and genuinely eager to help. Their positive energy added to the overall experience and made the day feel even more special. From ride operators who were patient with excited kids to attendants who happily provided information or assistance, the staff played a big role in creating a smooth and cheerful visit. If you are planning a trip, I highly recommend arriving in the morning. Getting there early makes a noticeable difference in wait times for rides, allowing you to fit in more attractions before the larger crowds begin to appear. The early hours also have a relaxed feel, giving families plenty of time to explore at their own pace, enjoy the classic rides, take photos, and grab snacks without rushing. The variety of rides and attractions means there’s always something to look forward to. Thrill-seekers can enjoy the iconic roller coasters, while younger children can explore the gentler rides and whimsical spaces designed just for them. The atmosphere is lively but never overwhelming, and the sense of tradition mixed with modern fun gives the park a unique charm. Overall, Luna Park is a delightful outing for families and groups looking for a clean, enjoyable, and well-organised experience. It’s a place where laughter comes easily, memories are made, and the fun feels effortless.
Michael L — Google review
Overall, the amusement park makes a good impression, offering a variety of interesting attractions. However, in 4-5 hours, we were only able to go on two rides. The queues for each attraction ranged from 1 to 3 hours. Even in the afternoon, the wait for a simple slide for a small child was 40 minutes. I queued for my child, but he wasn't allowed to go ahead. Therefore, queuing for someone else seems impossible. I would rather call this place a zoo than an amusement park. Unfortunately, such a large number of visitors undoubtedly has a negative impact on the experience of this historical site. I understand that even on weekdays it can be crowded, and during school holidays, it’s likely a real nightmare. It would be sensible to consider the option of selling tickets online and to have separate hours for tourists. After all, standing in line for two hours is certainly very exhausting! Moreover, it’s completely impossible to step away to the toilet for fear of losing your spot.
K K — Google review
🎡 Luna Park Melbourne is one of the city’s most famous amusement parks, but its design may not appeal to everyone. The entrance features the iconic giant clown face with a wide open mouth, which some find creepy and unsettling rather than fun. Personally, I found the design not so nice and a bit scary, so I decided not to enter. While the park is popular with families and thrill-seekers, the overall look might not be inviting if you’re sensitive to bold or unusual designs.
Min M — Google review
Luna Park Melbourne is fun if you’re looking for a throwback, carnival-style amusement park. The heritage roller coaster is a standout, and the park has a quirky, vintage vibe that families and tourists might enjoy. It’s a great spot for kids or for those wanting a more laid-back experience—not a high-adrenaline thrill park. However, some of the rides feel outdated, and the pricing can feel steep considering the size and condition of the park. Queues get long on weekends, and a few rides are sometimes closed without clear notice. It’s charming in its own way, but don’t expect modern theme park standards. Still worth a visit if you’re in the area, but probably more for the atmosphere and photos than for the rides themselves.

Oldest still operating Luna Park in the world! Love it! I really love the classic scentic railway! A roller coaster that run on momentum, with the right level of excitement and stunning scenery along the track! Riding on scentic railway is my most romantic moment in Melbourne!

Luna Park Melbourne – A Timeless Experience of Joy and Connection I recently visited Luna Park Melbourne with a group of friends, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, the energy of the park was contagious, vibrant, welcoming, and full of life. The blend of classic rides and modern attractions created a perfect balance of nostalgia and excitement. The staff were friendly and professional, ensuring a smooth experience for every visitor. Beyond the fun and laughter, what stood out most was the sense of community and shared joy that Luna Park inspires. Moments like these are a reminder that great experiences go beyond entertainment; they connect people, spark joy, and create lasting memories.

First time at Luna Park in more than a decade, good fun. Took a ride on the Scenic Railway, which was great to see it's still running after more than 100 years! The Ghost Train left a lot to be desired - a shadow of what it used to be - little to see inside for much of the ride - being back the daggy uv paintings and jump scare staff!! Wait time for the Scenic Railway was 45 min, and about an hour for the Ghost Train. Park was busy - fully booked a d three kids birthday parties on the day we were there, but staff were great and no one was unhappy with the wait times. Recommended for a day out - but book ahead.

St Kilda Pier is a popular spot in Melbourne, offering stunning views of the city skyline and Port Phillip Bay. During the day, visitors can take a leisurely stroll along the pier, bask in the sunshine, and admire the panoramic vistas. The heritage-listed St Kilda Pier Kiosk at the end of the pier provides an opportunity to grab a coffee or snack. As evening falls, it becomes an ideal location for spotting Little Penguins as they make their way back home.
St Kilda Pier is an absolute gem in Melbourne’s vibrant coastal scene, and my visit was nothing short of spectacular! This iconic spot offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, lively atmosphere, and convenient amenities that make it a must-visit destination🙂. The pier itself is a scenic delight, stretching out into Port Phillip Bay with breathtaking views of the city skyline and the shimmering water. Visiting in the evening was a brilliant choice—the sunset paints the sky in hues of orange, pink, and purple, creating a magical backdrop for a leisurely stroll. The gentle sea breeze and the sound of waves lapping against the pier add to the serene yet lively vibe. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the resident fairy penguins waddling back to their burrows at dusk—an adorable highlight! One of the standout features is the accessibility and convenience. The parking area near the pier is well-organized, with plenty of spots available even during peak evening hours. While parking isn’t free, the rates are quite reasonable for such a prime location, making it hassle-free to drive in and enjoy the experience without breaking the bank. The pay for amenities and nearby facilities is also very fair. The kiosks and cafes along the foreshore offer a range of delicious food and drinks at decent prices, perfect for grabbing a coffee or fish and chips to enjoy while soaking in the views. The area feels safe and well-maintained, with clean pathways and ample seating to relax and take it all in. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, St Kilda Pier in the evening is an unforgettable experience. The combination of stunning scenery, affordable parking, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a top-tier destination

Beautiful newly built pier with amazing views of the city. Beautiful spot to watch the sunset and see the city beautifully lit up at night. Def worth visiting and going for a walk to the end of the jetty. Also lots of seating all the x way along the pier for those that need to take a rest or to sit and see the beautiful city views. I love this pier.

This is such a beautiful addition to St Kilda. The pier is lovely, the beaches are clean, and if you’re lucky enough you’ll see one of the local penguins. This is a free tourist attraction so that’s a great thing. Plenty to see as there are great restaurants from takeaways to fine dining (Donovan’s).

My first visit to St Kilda pier since its been upgraded. I love what has been done with it. It's a very pleasant walk with the sunset and view of the city skyline. Plenty of places to sit and relax along the way and I love how they've kept the historical kiosk.

A must-visit when in Melbourne. St Kilda Pier offers stunning views of the city skyline and Port Phillip Bay, especially during sunrise and sunset. The walk is peaceful, with plenty of spots for photos. If you’re lucky, you might spot the famous little penguins near the breakwater at dusk. Clean, well-maintained, and a perfect place to relax and soak in the fresh sea breeze.

Here's where you can see wild tiny penguin at its natural habitat. Btw note that this is not a penguin parade so you have to patient search and wait for the penguins! Usually they are in between some rocks so look carefully. Don't get your hope up too high if you are expecting a lot of penguins visible in close proximity. This is not your place

Went on a Saturday afternoon with nice weather and sunshine. It was a big change from before. There were a lot of people. There was a boat tour to see penguins. There was an ice cream shop at the end of the road. It was delicious. The atmosphere was good for visiting. The walkway was convenient, but there were no trash cans.

The St Kilda Adventure Playground is a whimsical and imaginative park where kids can let loose and have fun. It features an array of play structures such as a large castle with slides, a bouncy boomerang, a pirate ship, treehouses, trampolines, climbing frames, and even a giant elephant. The playground is staffed for safety and offers BBQ facilities and toilets for convenience.
This place is so cool. As soon as you enter, it feels like you've entered into a different world, with an abundance of mulch covering the entire flooring and an abundance of mature trees providing atmosphere and natural shade. There's different types of slides, ramps, steps, a large trampoline, a basketball court, a covered picnic area, a community garden, just to name a few. It has limited opening hours. The website says it's staffed during opening hours which I think is true as there seemed to be someone in charge amongst the crowd having a birthday event that was on when we visited. 2 hour free parking available nearby. Toilets available on site.

Do not go here in 2025. Everything is boarded up except for the trampoline (which there are long wait times for) and a sandpit. It’s apparently getting fixed up later in the year but it’s useless until that is finished which is a shame that there’s going to be a year ++ downtime.
Emma R — Google review
Most areas boarded up and did not help that 2 boys kept hogging the trampoline. The lady who was helping lock up was with them so probably that’s why the boys din take turns with other kids
Wendy L — Google review
The location is great, although in the current state it's a little limited until much needed upgrades are done. Perhaps drop by if close by, although I travelled to check it out with my kids and was a little surprised to see everything outside was boarded up. Despite this, kids still had fun and the atmosphere was relaxing and quiet. Trampoline still open along with indoor activities.

Nearly everything is boarded up closed off. Such a disappointment as this place could be amazing and we drove 45 minutes to get there. May as well close it down as the only thing open is one sandpit and a trampoline which you can't get a turn on. Sad disappointment.

Very nice and calm beach. There is also the very cool and colourful beach boxes. I went on a 30 degree day and it wasn’t even too busy. The water is so nice as well and not to rough, not too many rocks or seaweed either. Only problem was the number of ants crawling around the sand

In the less touristy months this beach is a pleasant one to walk along, especially in the morning. There is a mix of the locals getting their morning swims or runs in, walkers, people walking their dogs and a few tourists taking photos of the bathing boxes. It is sandwiched between a few noteworthy areas: Green Point [see separate review], Hollows Beach, the Brighton Gardens and Brighton Beach. It is also the home of the very famous Brighton Bathing Boxes [see separate view]. When the tide is out you can walk from one end to the other and cross over into the other beaches. This beach has stunning backdrops of the city skyline, the bathing boxes and the bay itself. The sunsets are spectacular too. Note: there is no carpark here, so off street parking [1hr] is suggested or take the local train or park at Green point which has a large, yet expensive carpark. Worth a few visits at different times of day.

Gorgeous beach! Very touristy even for a Tuesday but if you walk to the far side (way from the buses) you can find your own little slice of heaven! (And there’s even a bathroom and trash cans on that side so you don’t have to walk back the whole beach should you need them!)

Oh my,the bathing boxes are truly amazing-they are so cute!I am in love with them. The beach was nice but the bathing boxes got my attention!♥️♥️♥️

Water on a windy day has a dozen or so of wind-surfers to watch. Gets busy with tourists once you get closer to the colorful bath boxes. . .

Restaurant
Donovans is a Hamptons-style beachside restaurant with a relaxed vibe and stunning ocean views. The plush, striped interiors exude comfort, making it an ideal spot for catching up with old friends or enjoying a romantic evening. The modern Mediterranean-inspired menu features deceptively simple yet sophisticated dishes, including charcoal-cooked offerings like Queensland leader prawns and whole baked duck. Situated in a former 1920s bathing pavilion, the restaurant offers wide-open views of St.
Beautiful, cosy vibe the moment you enter. Staff were attentive, warm and down-to-earth. Food was served in a very timely manner, no extensive waiting at all. Food was delicious, each mouthful was perfect 👌 it was obviously prepared with expertise and attention to detail. My daughter and I shared 2 entrees, had a main each, and shared a dessert and we were very satisfied. They also added something a little extra when we said we were there for my birthday. For me, it was a lovely and memorable dining experience 😊

An evening at Donovans, St Kilda - where sophistication meets the sea. We began with cocktails to set the tone: the daring Scary Mary with chilli-infused Belvedere vodka, and the jewel-like Green Velvet. To start, silky chicken liver parfait, delicate beef tartare, and a rich, ocean-kissed seafood linguine. Each bite, a quiet indulgence. For mains, the luxurious spanner crab ravioli in lemon butter, a perfectly grilled T-bone, and a flawlessly cooked crispy skin barramundi — plates that balanced finesse with flavour. Desserts were nothing short of theatre: Parky's sticky date soufflé, light as air yet decadent, and the iconic Bombe Alaska for two, an elegant finale to a remarkable meal. Dining at Donovans is not simply a meal... it is culinary artistry by the bay.

Fantastic family lunch today with a view of the beach. Five out of five all round. Must try: Bomb Alaska (well generous size for three to share), mixed leaves salad (amazing vinaigrette…) but all dishes we had were great. Great service too. We arrived early for our sitting but they welcomed us. Waiter very attentive and thoughtful.

An outstanding evening. Amazing, attentive service and absolutely fabulous food! And the most delicious fresh baked bread on the table with butter and a fava bean puree - could have made a meal of just that! Highly recommend, and the ocean views over the bay area incredible!

Visiting Melbourne our friends wanted to take us to their favourite restaurant and now we know why. The evening was faultless, from the secluded table with 180° views and excellent service from Anna-Claire to the fantastic food. If in St Kilda, do yourself a favour, and book a table Donovans

We took 2 friends to Donovan’s for an outstanding meal. Location is excellent on St Kilda foreshore. Anna-Claire served us along with other staff. Service is excellent. We’ve been many times to Donovan’s and they never disappoint. Thankyou. Great place!

We had lunch there today and it was one of the best food, service and venue I’ve ever been to. Our waiter Oliver was very friendly and accommodating, personable and attentive to our booking. The food was timed very well from entrees to mains and then desserts. My dietaries were not even a hassle and lots of variety and options for me. Thank you, I will definitely go there again based on my first impression. Well done!😊

Nice spot with a pleasant view. The food was tasty and the service was great—staff were friendly and attentive. Prices are a bit on the high side, especially for drinks, but overall it was an enjoyable experience. Worth a visit!

No one could possibly dislike The Stokehouse so no need to go on about it.....except to say it probably had The Best Waiters and Waitresses I've ever known at a Corporate function. There was no delay ever in catching their attention and being provided for very promptly. And I wasn't the only person who made that observation!!
Mark L — Google review
I’m giving 1 star by default as it’s not possible to rate this place with 0 star. Literally scammy vibes here… it was so enjoyable to only realize the $2 oyster deal was not available… when the bill was handed to us. Of course the waiters are not going to mention the conditions of the oyster deal at any point, while we were clearly ordering oysters for the oyster deal. We felt fooled and upset. What a great experience. Be careful it’s not a cool place although it’s in a cool spot at the sea side. To top it off, table / chairs give a fast food furniture vibe, so no chance to feel cozy or comfortable to enjoy a $20 aperol.

I always love an afternoon by the water at Stokehouse Pasta Bar. Beautiful views, delicious food, friendly service. Great way to spend the day with friends and a bottle (or two) of wine

Our server is amazing. She was on spot, show up at the right times, gave us a in-depth description of the menu and promptly shows up to assist us all the time. We felt like we were eating at the comfort of our homes. My friend thought the food were on a small portion but food quality and taste is definitely top notch. Personal favorite is the oysters and Ricotta gnudi and pumpkin, side will be the grilled beans with almond. Will definitely return to try the other offerings on their menu.

Located just across st Kilda beach. Well lit restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was efficient and polite. Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the dishes. The veal schnitzel was juicy and tender and not too oily. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly and the sauce was nice and creamy. Priced appropriately for the amazing location. So peaceful having some dinner while watching the beautiful sunset.

When we arrived, the waitress asked if we had a show to go to after dinner so that they could ensure the food came out promptly and we wouldn’t be late for our show. This was a thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated! The communication from the staff was amazing, our meals were full of flavour, stunning views and great atmosphere. Service was great! Hard to come by post-Covid times. Thanks!

I had a wonderful experience at this beachfront Italian restaurant! Not only is the location stunning with beautiful ocean views, but the food was exceptional. The rib eye was a stand out! The pizza had a perfectly crispy crust and was loaded with delicious toppings. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive, and making dining experience even more enjoyable. Whether you’re coming for a romantic dinner or a casual meal by the beach, this place has something for everyone. Highly recommend!

One of the best Italian restaurants in Melbourne I’ve ever tried. At this beach side, the restaurant is with an amazing atmosphere and view! It’s just perfect to enjoy authentic Italian food while feeling the ocean breeze.🌊 The pizza was so flavorful—thin, hand-stretched dough with a guanciale flavor, and topped with fresh ingredients. We ordered the pasta was rich and flavorful, with great texture. The burrata was fresh and simple, a perfect start to the meal. Good cocktail, lovely food and a beautiful seaside setting. Perfect for a date / just a relaxed dinner with friends. Highly recommend!!!!!!

One of the best Italian restaurants in Melbourne with an amazing atmosphere! Located near St Kilda Beach, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy authentic Italian food while feeling the ocean breeze. 🌊✨ The pizza was fantastic—thin, hand-stretched dough with a smoky flavor, topped with fresh ingredients and baked in a wood-fired oven. 💕The handmade pasta was rich and flavorful, with great texture. The Caprese salad was fresh and simple, a perfect start to the meal. The ambiance here is unbeatable, especially at sunset. Great food, good wine, and a beautiful seaside setting—perfect for a romantic date or a relaxed dinner with friends. Highly recommend!

A lovely dinner, with quick and attentive service. The food was salty and flavourful but not overpowering. A lovely location, quiet on a Tuesday night. The food seemed authentic. Four of us comfortably shared two pastas and a pizza for a moderately sized dinner. My favourite item was the pipe rigate!

Had a lovely casual brunch at DOC Pizza in St Kilda during my weekend. The antipasto platter was a highlight - the mozzarella-stuffed peppers were genius! Caramelle pasta with pork rib filling was hearty and unique. Their classic San Daniele pizza delivered with perfect crispy crust. the pistachio calzoncino was rich, the nutty filling paired well with the flaky pastry.

Absolutely love D.O.C! 🍕 Tried the Pizza ai Porcini—loaded with mushrooms and truffle oil, super rich and flavorful. The crust was spot on: crispy outside, soft inside, not too heavy. Also had the prawn linguine—fresh and generous with the shrimp. Finished with the cannoli, which disappeared in seconds—lightly sweet with ricotta, dark choc, and orange bits. Perfect meal!

What a lovely view and restaurant! It was quite beautiful and was so cool to see the beach from our seats. The food was amazing the fish and chips were huge (the size of my hands, my hands are pretty big) Anyways the peanut butter espresso martini was one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had so. Also the staff was so nice and wonderful. Please go highly recommend.

I have been going to Republica once a week for over a year now, as they are partners with the Social Volleyball event. I always get the same items from the menu: pepperoni or brisket pizza, fried chicken and chips. The beer is always cold, the service is quick and the casual vibe during summer time is what you want. I should add a mention to the salmon tartare, really good.

Perfect spot by the beach to unwind. The fried chicken was hands-down the best I’ve had in a while — crispy, juicy, and full of flavour. Paired it with fish & chips, which were fresh and satisfying. Cold beer, ocean breeze, and great vibes made it an ideal St Kilda afternoon.

My partner and I visited on the Monday before Melbourne cup, and I was nervous they weren't going to let us in because we had been walking along the beach and were wet, and didn't feel dressed up enough for the venue. But upon entering, the door was held open for us, our umbrellas were taken, and we were greeted like any other guest. The Irish person who greeted us first was amazing the whole time we were there. I'm not sure if he is the owner, or has just worked there a while, but it was evident that he takes enormous pride in his work and service. He even checked in with us during meals, made sure everything was okay, and that we were happy with our orders and service. Where we were originally sitting was too loud, and our request for a quieter table was accepted without hesitation and it never felt like we were any problem to any of the staff. The food was excellent. I had the lamb skewers, and whilst the sauce was sweet and an indication on the menu would have been nice, I was so pleased with everything I ate. I am usually extremely picky with steak, but I had no problems with it here. My partner also enjoyed his salmon tartare, and his risotto. I ate the tempura zucchini flower off his dish, and whatever stuffing was in it deserves its own dedicated dish – it was amazing! Every staff member we encountered was lovely, professional, and non-judgemental. There was only a few other groups in the restaurant with us, and while I wouldn't recommend as a place for a quick dining experience, it was such a lovely atmosphere and experience in a wonderful location. Thank you to everyone who was there on Monday :)

The mansion is very beautiful and well preserved. The tour was just a small group of 10-15 people so it’s not overcrowded. The tour guide who is a local is very informative of the estate and its surroundings’ history. You can also explore the garden and grounds after the tour. The garden tour was $15pp and for an additional $10pp, you get to have a guided tour inside the mansion as well.

The North Road Foreshore Reserve Playground in Melbourne is a popular beachside destination featuring a pirate ship-themed playground with water play, climbing structures, and slides. The park offers various water-based attractions, including a seesaw that activates water sprays. Families can relax in the shaded seating areas while kids enjoy the playground. Wonderful playground for kids and adults. There are seesaw, pumps, rock decoration, a sand pit in the playground and a cafe, public toilets and parking space around it. The equipment is amazing. You can go to the nearby beach and walk or jog along the walking trail. Look after your children carefully because there are running bikes. Sunscreen is recommended.

It's not big, but it's one of the best parks in Melbourne. It has several water-based attractions. By moving the seesaw, water sprays out from another piece of playground equipment. This trick is really cool. There is also a very unique playground equipment in the shape of a ship. The benches are covered with seats and adults can rest in the shade. Families will also appreciate that there are restaurants and restrooms parking lot nearby. Plus, the view of the ocean and skyscrapers from the park is stunning!

This park made me feel as though I was in the country! So much open space, (OK sporting ovals) and near the kids playarea (yes no self respecting park is without one) is a water fountain that was obviously installed by the park's founders what with the bluestone slabs etc, so old timey - fantastic. Lots of magnificent trees and other greenery, beautiful.

Visitors can enjoy the stunning sunset views while watching black swans glide by, creating a picturesque scene. The beach is well-maintained, featuring clean facilities including toilets and a nearby kiosk for refreshments.
First time at this off lead dog beach. A family of black swans were swimming in the water at sunset as a pair of dogs joyfully splashed in the shallows. I accidentally dropped my dog’s collar and a kind Human who found it left it on a wooden post near the car park. Thank you very much kind Human. There is a kiosk near the car park and clean toilets. The only downside is the paid parking, even applicable on public holidays. The beach itself is a great open space for dogs to run and swim.

Isolated great place for dogs or pets in general, not ideal for picnics

We have always loved going to the beach here as the water is (generally) clean and shallow enough for dogs to play in. However, the last few weeks there has been a lot of debris and garbage on the beach including shards of glass and jagged bits of metal. It is a shame that one of the nicer dog beaches in the city has come to this!
Sancha N — Google review
Lovely beach for dogs. A little on the smelly side but if you don’t mind that it’s a great little beach to bring your dogs. Parking wasn’t too bad but I would recommend getting them a little earlier especially in the spring/summer months.
Severine J — Google review
Really great beach, water is always spotlessly clean and quite calm as it’s well protected by a number of rock walls and the pier/breakwater. Great spot to bring the dog to run around as the water is nice n shallow, or have a swim yourself in the clear water. We especially like the northern end! Good facilities close by a the Hampton life saving club and plenty of free parking around if you look.
Osher G — Google review
Stunning dog beach, even better when you have good weather! Our dogs loved a good swim, stick throwing and generally going crazy with other dogs in the area. Plenty of space on the beach for a good run around. Would definitely recommend. Parking can be expensive however!
Kerbray — Google review
Great for all dog lovers. It is really shallow at low tide, so all the canine friends, and two legged ones, can have a blast splashing about. The best part though, is to watch the sunset in winter. The absolute best view around this part of the bay, for sure!
Lucas P — Google review
A nice open beach with friendly dogs and people. Unfortunately the state of the beach is really disappointing, with shards of broken glass and rubbish littered amongst the sand. Will be going to other dog beaches in the area

Cafe
North Point Brighton is a family-operated establishment that boasts picturesque views of the bay and offers a variety of meals throughout the day. Situated at the end of North Rd, this cafe benefits from an ideal location near a playground and the beach, making it especially enjoyable during warm weather. Additionally, there is a convenient walking path nearby. In colder seasons, patrons can appreciate the cozy indoor atmosphere enhanced by toastie heaters.
I am honestly shocked this place is currently 4 star, it deserves far better! Food was amazing, coffee was great, venue was beautiful, staff were lovely. The only thing was it was quite loud - needs some sound proofing or something… but definitely I will come back.
Rachael A — Google review
Lovely cafe right in front of the beach. My family comes here a lot for the coffee which is always delicious. I’ve also tried the chai which is sweet, and the matcha which was okay. The food is also decent. Seafood linguine was yum and not too salty. The pork benedict was a bit fatty (expected) and hash browns were not my favourite but overall still a great meal. I would definitely one back.

Seems it is an instagrammable spot for people coming here for taking photos, because some people just like tourists and looking around, but also you will see the local people who are accustomed to chatting, ordering, and making jokes with the waiters. Nice beach view made you feel relax. Food is just normal, not bad, not expensive.

Our family of four stopped by for breakfast and absolutely loved it. I had the Corn & Cauliflower Fritters, which were packed with flavor and anything but bland. My husband went for the North Point Breakfast—it was huge and definitely satisfying. The kids ordered the Pancakes with strawberries and maple syrup, and they couldn’t stop raving about how delicious they were. Service was prompt and spot-on, which made the experience even better. Plus, there’s a playground right in front of the restaurant that kept the kids happily entertained. We’d definitely come back again!

It was pretty busy on a weekend morning for brunch but there’s both indoor and outdoor tables and relatively quick service for turnover. The food was delicious! Coffee was great too - great little playground straight across the road on the water with lots of activities to run off the energy.

Amazing service, such in depth menu catering for lunch and breakfast. Impressed - and I go out for breakfast a lot. Love it. Got the pork egg’s Benedict and loved it. Also mango smoothie is a winner

Walked in for 2 on a cold and rainy winter Saturday around 12:30ish. It was relatively busy but still heaps of tables available. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Overall vibe is a clean, hipster, very “Melbourne” cafe. We ordered the steak sandwich, and the pumpkin and beetroot salad with chicken added. We also ordered drinks - Yuzu Soda and a Mango smoothie. My friend rated her steak sandwich a 7/10. She felt the turkish bread wasn’t toasted enough, and one of her steak pieces was cooked way too rare. The rest was okay though. She said in general everything was good. My salad was probably a 6/10 - everything was fine - fresh enough. Lots of beetroot pieces, generous cuts of cheese, corn, and tomatoes; not enough pumpkin. Flavours - it’s bland until you find the beetroot hummus - this made the dish really good. Chicken was okay - not a lot of seasoning on the chicken on its own. Smoothie was really flavourful and fresh. It has chia seeds in it so that added to the texture of it. The yuzu soda was from a can - nice enough. Not quite a lemonade, but more a carbonated water that’s flavoured. Total we paid $88 with card and weekend surcharge. Salad was $34 with chicken, the sandwich was $28. It was an okay experience in general.

I went nearby and walked along the beach and the peaceful-looking grass, and after searching for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere in a peaceful and quiet place, I visited and ordered seafood linguini and cappuccino. I had a pleasant meal and was satisfied with my time~ :)

Italian restaurant

The restaurant is part of a vibrant marketplace featuring 23 traders offering an array of Italian specialties, from fresh produce to housemade pasta and bakery items. Wow, what a pleasant experience. We visited unexpectedly knowing we’d have to wait for a table and the team continued to update us on how long the next table would be available. The food was absolutely devine as well the varied customer service throughout our time spent here was executional. Completely enjoyed our time and would like to revisit and recommend. Thank you team.

My go to Italian Restaurant back when I lived in Hampton, VIC. Took the chance to drop in at the restaurant without a booking and was initially told to come back at 1.5 hours later as the restaurant was fully booked for the night. We agreed. Maybe the staff saw our eagerness and also that we were chatting with the pizzaolo, they quickly put together a table at the back of the restaurant and we didn't have to wait. As a group we had so many dishes and I didn't manage to take photos of everyone's. Needless to say.. every dish was mouth watering, as excellent as I remembered. The pizza was still as awesome as i remembered.. the crust was just perfect. And the staff, as much a star as the food, always checking in to make sure all was OK.. and in the end, we squeezed in desserts when we didn't plan to.

Awesome Italian restaurant! Tasty housemade dishes and pizzas are among the best in Bayside areas. Great indoor design with around 50 seats. Staff are friendly and the Pizza maker is super welcoming, always smiling and helpful with passion. Great smile means good vibes and this can be seen in the food. Worth a try! Highly recommended! We often get takeaway here as it’s always delicious and tasty. We dine in-house from time time and I must say it certainly does not disappoint. Tonight we dined and really enjoyed the new specials, both entrees and mains. We would definitely highly recommend this traditional Italian restaurant, you will not be disappointed. Thanks Naz and staff!

We enjoyed an evening of delicious Italian food and warm, professional service. We ordered the Specials fish and steak, and one of the pizzas with a number of sides. We also had room for dessert, enjoying the signature Tiramisu, hazelnut tart and gelato. This is one of our favourite restaurants. We will definitely be back! Too busy easy to take photos!

Takeout Restaurant
Martinellas Brighton Bay Pizza & Pasta is a delightful spot for pizza lovers, known for its generous toppings and delicious flavors. While some recent visitors have noted a decrease in topping quantity and an increase in prices, the overall experience remains positive. Many patrons appreciate the easy online ordering system and quick pickup times, making it convenient for those on the go. The friendly staff contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that enhances every visit.
Tasty pizzas, but at our most recent visit, we noticed significantly less toppings than previously. Also, the price used to be $22.50 for a large Vegman pizza, but is now $25. Unfortunately, for us, the main appeal of Martinellas when compared with competitors like Dominos, was the plentiful toppings on the pizzas. But since there has been such a dramatic reduction in amount of toppings and price increase, we are less incentivised to come again. See photos for a comparison of the same pizza, Vegman, with dates included in the photos.

Unfortunately a regular favourite was the seafood deluxe here, work colleagues and I would boast of how good the seafood was. Big real prawns and plenty of them and at a good price of $22. Not what we recieved tonight while plenty of prawns on the pizza they where small ones what you might typically get from a packet at the super market. The pizza lacked any other seafood on there apart from a few anchovies and a price increase to $26 Pretty disappointed in what use to be a phenomenal pizza.

We have ordered takeaway a few times now and they are always great pizzas with very generous toppings. They arrive quickly too! Highly recommend their Aussie pizza with egg

We had JB Special, garlic pizza and vegetarian pizza. All meals taste great. The friendly staff with local atmosphere added to our great experience.

Was the best pizza in town. Was quick delivery. Pizza always arrived hot. Was high quality ingredients. Sadly this is not the case anymore nor is this a 5 star review anymore. Mate you can't promote your pizzas on instagram showing your regular tasty kalamata olives then on the same day a few hours later serve pizzas with the cheapest tasteless sliced black olives known to man. This is misrepresentation plus either shifty or thoughtless. Give me my money back

The most generous pizza toppings I’ve seen in years! Tasty and filling. Easy online ordering, good deal and ready for pick up in 20mins. We will be back thanks.

Have been buying pizza from Martinellis for as long as I can remember. The last 2 times I have had pizza I have noticed the quality of the ingredients are not the same which is a shame. The pizza have gone from great to just ok.

Vietnamese restaurant
Dandelion is a modern Vietnamese restaurant located in Elwood, Melbourne. The restaurant offers a minimalist space with polished-concrete floors and vertical gardens, creating a relaxed and intimate dining atmosphere. Geoff Lindsay's award-winning menu showcases a personal interpretation of Vietnamese cuisine, featuring a rich and diverse array of flavors and textures. The restaurant is known for its friendly service, modern fusion Vietnamese fare, and an impressive cocktail menu.
Quite an expensive meal, but worth it! Delicious. Would be a good option for special occasions or the occasional random spoiler. I’ve been here three times and I am sure I’ll go back again! :-)
Rachael A — Google review
Great sleek looking restaurant serving contemporary modern Vietnamese cuisine. We ordered a number of entrees and they are pretty good especially the Hanoi Fire Crackers but be careful as they pack a heat. The beef short ribs are really soft and pretty good too. We came on mother's day and were given free choc fudge, what a service! Food - 8 Service - 10 Vibe - 9 Price - $$$$
Edwar K — Google review
Nice presentation but tasteless, non of the 3 meals tasted good - big disappointment. Crab coconut dish particularly lacking of any crab flavor or just too much coconut. Not worth the price.
Anna O — Google review
Dandelion is a relaxed, intimate restaurant, with friendly service, modern fusion Vietnamese fare, and a great cocktail menu. I’ve been there a couple of times, and they’ve always been delicious. Last night was no exception. Started off with some mocktails, off course. The coconut and lychee granita was a tropical treat. It made me feel like I was on holidays! The crab spring rolls were crispy and juicy, perfectly fried. Nuac Cham on the side gave it a saucy punch. Prawns were covered in crunchy rice, with a satisfying crackle in every bite. Beef ribs were the highlight of the meal. Cooked till it falls off the bone, the meat was rich and tender. Fresh side salad really complimented this dish. Lamb shank looked appealing but was a bit underdone. The aromatic sauce was refreshing, as the accompanying, rice baguette and pineapple were good too.
Max G — Google review
I think the service was okay but I personally didn't enjoy the food. One of the two dishes my partner and I enjoyed was the peking duck rice paper rolls (4 small pieces for $26.00) We also had: The small bowl of Beef Pho which was very confusing to me as it was a very jam packed with noodles and hardly any soup which tasted nothing like Pho. The Banh Xeo was visually very appealing, tasted okay but the flavours just wasn't to my liking. To finish, we had the Banh Flan which was displayed very nicely and was quite nice however we had accompanied this with the Vietnamese Drip Coffee that was very grainy and bitter because the filter was not fitted properly. I felt the flavours were very westernised and the meals were very overpriced for what they were. It was an okay experience but will not be rushing back here any time soon.
Jackie H — Google review
Came here once for business lunch, set menu of course, but then the food and experience was fantastic. Took my partner here, unfortunately not the same experience as before. Decor is still amazing, especially sitting by the greenery, refreshing and creates a clean atmosphere. but the menu needs attention, especially when lamb shank being served cold and dry, flavours were still delicious. Waitors may need to improve with checking back with the customers on their dinning experience, rather than talking to other staff whilst on their mobiles during service... Not a good sight to see. Only to have 5 staff one with 3 tables, and only being asked once how meals are going.
Danielle P — Google review
I've now been 3 times now. The decor is nice, the menu has many interesting ideas. However, the final product is lacking. Not bad, but doesn't deserve all the hype.
Liam B — Google review
Hard to believe the hype this place generates. Food is hit and miss, service is well below par. The BoLaLot was raw and inedible, but there was absolutely no interest from the waitress why we hadn't eaten it. The chicken wings are just slimy. Highlight was the prawns and eggplant side, saved them from one star. Beef rib was good, but god knows what your suppose to do with all the trapping as the waitress could have been speak Vietnamese when she dumped it on the table. Prices way above the odds; passable as a suburban cafe at best. And then there's the credit card fee and $12 carafe of sparkling water - at this point they are just taking the piss.
