We stayed at the Horseshoe Bay Resort caravan park. It's such a great spot close to the beach. We had dinner at the cafe. The food was amazing and on Saturday night, there was live music brilliant. We would definitely return.

Nice little beach fun swimming and good snorkeling on the right hand side near the rocks. There is a sculpture in the ocean out a bit still on the right. There is a nice cafe nearby and a caravan park. Also toilets and picnic tables. You can walk to a lookout.

Beautiful beach. Lovely grass area out front and cafe. Short walk to the lookout, but recommend doing the lookout first, as you will get hot. Then you can cool off in the sea. Lots of rocks to find some realise in too.

Beautiful views surround by very busy little beaches and van parks. We scored a park easy but it was packed when we left, there is plenty of parking just a few mins walk back down the road. The path is well maintained and do-able for most people that can handle uphill and stairs. The last ramp is a little steep up onto the lookout but sturdy and good hand rails.

Shortish walk up to a great little lookout over the bay. Can do this on a hot day and not struggle. Worth checking out.

A great vantage point to look over Horseshoe Bay. A relatively easy walk up some old concrete steps and over granite boulders to a steel mesh viewing platform. Track ‘trailhead’ is under the Rotary Park sign next to the carpark.

Wonderful place, the rotary pathway is great for sport, it's 5 Km long. However, you better use sunscreen as well as insect repellent to avoid any disturbance. You may see some small lizards which are not harmful. But most important is to watch your steps. I believe the place could be dangerous for young children. If you are a family with young children you can spend wonderful time on the Horseshoe Bay or Grey's Bay.

Delicious food and drinks here in a near perfect spot behind Horseshoe Beach. Delicious cakes too. Can’t give 5* though because my partner wanted a non alcoholic wine which was on the drinks menu but they didn’t do it. Otherwise fantastic!

Situated across the road from beautiful Horseshoe Bay, this licenced Cafe is a nice place for a good feed and refreshing drinks. The prices are a bit steep and we got stung by the Public Holiday Surcharge, but nevertheless had a nice experience. They had a lovely lady singer with a good stong jazz voice singing good old R&B hits which was great to listen to. Hubby's pizza was juicy with good toppings and I had the chili muscles which were nice, but I was expecting the ones done in chili Italian tomato sauce. Maybe I should have read the menu more or asked. My bad. Still, they were nice. This place gets busy so you will need to book.

We loved this dreamy, beach café! Karen is a very friendly lady and awesome to chat with. This place is a must when visiting Bowen. The chill live music with the views on the bay were incredible. We ordered a seafood pizza, which was so delicious. I wish it was bigger in size, as I couldn't get enough of it! 🦐 As for the cappuccino and rum and raisin gelato, they were great as well. I definitely recommend this place! Make sure to come before the kitchen closes.

What a great night at the Pizza, Pasta, and Parmi Tuesday. We had the Seasational and Mango Chicken Parmies which were superb and only $20. They were out to the table fast and freshly cooked to perfection. The curry sauce was a bonus. The owner was checking all tables and added to the friendly vibe.

The Cafe is the place to be. It has excellent fresh food, great drinks, coffee and cakes, gelato and slushys and smoothies. There is a great Parmy, Pasta and Pizza night on Tuesdays from 5pm and awesome music on Fri and Sat nights and Sun afternoon. The location is too die for. The service staff are friendly, skilled and efficient. The Owner, David, is very hands on and welcomes you to The Cafe as a friend - old, new or travelling through. The Cafe is very dog friendly and the location to die for. Please come by and enjoy the hospitality. Books are encouraged as The Cafe can be very busy at peak times. Enjoy

Nice little place. Food was pretty good. Priced high but cooked to a high standard. The little beach here is cute and the setting is rustic but nice. We enjoyed the meal. The service was very good and the lady serving was very accommodating of our dietary requirements which I really appreciate.

Food was great, my only real negative experience was waiting over 45 minutes for a coffee and others in the restaurant were complaining about the same thing. Good food and great service, I feel this place is actually going through a rebuilding phase and will only get better. The service from the owner was second to none

We came to this park in July 2025. With out booking. Passing through, we looked at all the other parks first. But they were packed in like sardines. Thank god, they had a 2 bdrm cabin for 2 nights only. Not many van or RV sites. But what they do have are spacious compared to other sites between here and Cairns. Also in the camp kitchen they have a big screen TV. The cabin has queen bed in 1 room & 2 single beds in the second room. A/C in all rooms. Good size lounge, dining & kitchen. Kitchen utilities, steak knives etc. No noisy mine workers here. Just peace and quiet. Nice cool breeze late afternoon. Big pool, clean amenities, cheap coin operated washing machines. I would feel very comfortable riding a push bike in Bowen. Slow traffic. Big park rite next door for the kids to kick a ball or ride a bike. The owners/ manager are very friendly.

I cannot recommend this park highly enough, the staff and managers are the most friendliest we have come across in a while. The park amenities and grounds are spotless. Added bonus is the beautiful ocean view right at the front of the doorstep. Access to the park next door through a coded gate and were lucky enough to be there when the town markets were on. Great overnighter stay right on the beach. Clean, well maintained facilities. Nice walking track up to Horseshoe Bay Beach that starts just outside the back entrance. Very small sites but didn’t have any issues getting in or out.

We stayed 3 nights in a one bedroom cabin, the cabin is old and in desperate need of a renovation. It also needed a good clean, the ceiling fan was dirty and the oven tray had food crumbs from previous customers. The couch needed replacing but thankfully the bed was comfortable. The location is great as you can walk to Horseshoe Bay easily and the cabins face the ocean views. We were advised on arrival that the cabin next door was having the floor replaced so there was a lot of noise but our floor also had a soft spots so perhaps it is the start of badly needed renovations.

Right on the beach at Bowen, many different sites available. We were luck enough to have a water front site. They are drive through sights but you have to disconnect your van and drive to the rear of the van to park. If you car not a competent backer and have difficulty reversing your van don't take a sea frontage site. BBQ, access to the beach and covered picnic tables are along the foreshore.

Quiet small caravan park with beach access, swimming pool, grass sites. Sites are very wide but a little tight to reverse into. But for $35 you can't complain

Great caravan park, very neat and super clean run by two of the nicest and accommodating people you could hope to come across. The sites are large and very clearly separated, multiple amenities, thoroughly cleaned daily even in the off season and two pools with one having a slide and waterfall object. We love it.

My Battalion Association bulk booked at the Caravan park utilising Cabins, Caravans and free standing camp sites. The park Management and staff were lovely. Very friendly and very helpful. The caravan Park was exceptionally well presented, very neat, tidy and above all clean. The amenities block was the excellent, very clean and very serviceable. The proximity of the Park to the nearest Pub is fantastic - right next door. The price was very competitive and well worth the value. Overall a very good stay which made our reunion even more special. Thankyou.

We’ve stayed here at Queens Beach Tourist Village over a few years ,firstly with caravan. Great sites surrounded by small hedging trees. Now we’re doing road trips just with car and staying in cabins . Wonderful park currently managed by Mel & Bob who do a terrific job. Our cabin was very clean and beds comfortable, had all inclusions as mentioned … Brilliant that there are 3 separate amenity facilities as when staff are cleaning one and closing off , you can use others. All have washing machines:adequate outside clothes lines etc. Large pool and smaller pool very well maintained. Bonus for those who wish to dine out without driving, walking access/side gate to pub from park … even BWS bottle shop . No noise from there at night. Not too far to walk to beach from here. Don’t confuse this park with similar name Queens Beach caravan park .. that is a bit closer to the beach … but QBTV is the better option for us a few metres back. In conclusion, would like to congratulate all staff employed at this park for a job well done. Special mention to Debi who checked us in and assisted us with settlement into our cabin. We will hopefully be back in 2026 to stay again as we escape our cold temps in SA. Thank you , Mel and Bob .

We stayed here a few weeks ago in our van. The sites were spacious, they were all separated with trees / plants for privacy, and even had their own bins which were emptied daily. The park and facilities were all extremely clean and tidy (easily the best in our travels to date). Kids had a great time in the pool, or exploring with their scooters. A great stay…!

Location is great Beach just 5 min walk away Golf course behind. Beautiful large pool Large areas to park your van Close to shops Dump point Toiletsand showers. Powered sites. Tent sites.

Big park and a lovely pool. You can walk to the pub as well 👍🍻So sad to see all the dying plants in the gardens it must have been a massive financial loss to loose all these plants that were an investment at some point. I'm guessing there are water restrictions in the town? Or just a lack of management 🤔

This cinema is so cute a quirky! The gentleman in the Hawaiian shirt is so friendly and has made this experience even better! The screen is a great size. The seats super comfortable, prices are phenomenal. 10 out of 10 experience!

Ben De Luca has been running the cinema for more than 60 years. Fantastic local cinema with 2 theatres. Gallery of movie posters and memorabilia. Highly recommended.

Discriminatory and unprofessional. Owner refused entry to my assistance dog after paying for tickets and popcorn, yelled at us in front of others, used derogatory language, and denied a refund. I had to go through the Human Rights Commission to get my money back—a year later. Avoid this place if you expect accessibility, decency, or professionalism.

I'm from Adelaide and visiting now Arlie Beach and region. When I saw online the pictures of this cozy and cute cinema, I consired exploring Bowen, and (why not) watch a movie in it. It was such a pleasant experience. The owner greets the guests at the entrance and after the movie ends. Lovely experience!

This middle-of-nowhere cinema was a fantastic surprise. It has the most beautiful, welcoming ambience, really comfortable theatre seats and mouthwatering, delicious popcorn. I highly recommend visiting the Bowen Summergarden Cinema. I know we'll be back again 😊

A very unique experience. Took you back in time like it used to be. Although movie and sound quality was top rate. Spend a long time looking at all the posters too. Yummy caramel popcorn.

I give this hotel 5 star for the location. Food is great. Newly renovated rooms, and dining area. Have a cold ale outside whilst u wait for your takeaway back to your room or eat in. Nothing really is too much trouble. The staff are very friendly and so are the locals.

The best pub meal for both content and value we've experienced during our 5 month trip around Australia. Senior's roast at $19 - roast pork, Yorkshire pud, 10 vegetables and the pork had a crispy skin. Drinks were reasonably price and the staff very friendly.

Your food is to die for. You are doing everything right. Ate here 3 times in our stay in town. The pork belly was just beautiful as were the lamb ribs, the Sunday roast and Sausages on mash. Every single staff in every area of this beautifully renovated pub are an absolute credit to the venue. They were all so polite and chatty and this made us feel special and valid with every visit we made. Nothing was too much trouble. Can't wait to come back again.

As restaurant owners we are naturally critical when visiting other eateries, but we give credit where it is due. Our visit to the queen's beach was absolutely superb. So much so that we came back the following night, last night. The place has a great aesthetic and we were informed newly renovated. Great feel. Both nights we visited the pub was very busy. Plenty of parking. On our first night the food was a little slow but we were advised of an hour wait when ordering so it was expected. My goodness the food was worth waiting for... Delicious. I recommend the steak! The second night our food arrived more quickly and was just as good as the previous night. The bar staff were all friendly, but who stood out for us was the manager. Sasha took care of us both nights and was exceptional. Despite how busy it was she was friendly, attentive and took time to check how our meals were and thanked us for our patience. The table next to ours gave her a hard time when their food took too long but she handled it well and kept a smile on her face. My husband told her when we were leaving that he had never seen someone work so hard. On our second night our friends joined us and we stayed for drinks after our meal. We had a lovely evening. They were equally as impressed. We will definitely return next time we are in Bowen. Sarah and Peter

Sunday Roast with Yorkshire Pudding! Generous servings and absolutely delicious. Friendly and efficient service from the bar and kitchen. Takeaway container offered - did not need to ask. Lovely setting with dining options inside and outside. Ample parking, disabled access and family friendly. Allows dogs in outside area so long as they are well behaved. We will be back...other. menu items looked good too!

I recently stayed for a couple of days at this hotel in Bowen. The room, food and service was great! I particularly enjoyed the customer service provided by a worker there by the name of Mulcahy. He was efficient, courteous and extremely helpful to me from my arrival and throughout all my restaurant dining experiences. I highly recommend this hotel to any traveller visiting Bowen. Great location!

Lovely restaurant with fabulous views across the bay. It was extremely busy with 2 large parties but we were found a nice table for two. We didn't have to wait long for service but there was a bit of a wait at the bar at times. The food was fresh and tasty

Honestly, the best Chinese I’ve had in years. So fresh, delicious and it comes with a stunning view and atmosphere. The service is great too! I especially love the Chinese roast duck, sweet and sour pork, the coves special fried noodles! So so delicious

Best kept secret in Bowen! We stumbled on it via a small sign at Horseshoe bay entrance. It’s in an upmarket resort but the restaurant is amazing. It’s casual, friendly, and positioned overlooking the ocean and reasonably priced. Our lunch was flawless…and we are foodie! Highly recommend you put this venue on your Bowen MUST DO list!

What an amazing place for a restaurant. The view at sunset can't be described. Lovely staff. Had a Massoman curry, a Red Thai curry and coconut rice. Big portions, I couldn't finish mine. Really nice food. Will probably never come back. Got to envy the locals having this on their doorstep. Will never forget this special evening. Thank you.

Food was disgusting. Ordered the combination sate and it was truly the worst dish I have ever tasted in all my experiences of eating out. No flavour, tasted like chicken tonight sauce. Prawns tasted off and ended up spit put in my napkin. Great location, service is good but my dish was vile. I was so hungry and so ate some of it. But felt ill afterwards. Won't be back to eat here. Not recommended.

An absolutely dreadful experience from start to finish. The entrée was baffling – fried calamari sprinkled with sugar (no idea why), dripping in oil and completely inedible. The prawn toasts were just as bad – greasy and unpleasant. The mains didn’t improve things. My seafood and vegetable dish was bland, the vegetables were undercooked, and the seafood clearly wasn’t fresh. My partner’s sweet and sour pork came with no sides at all – just a few chunks of meat smothered in a thick, sticky, overly sweet sauce that was heavy and unappetising. By the time I left the restaurant, I was physically sick. That says it all. Poorly cooked food, lacking freshness, no balance of flavour, and potentially unsafe for diners. Do yourself a favour – avoid this place at all costs.

We wanted the fresh barramundi but it was finished so we ordered, a grilled fish & bug tail + 2 salads on the cashier’s advice as we didn’t wanted the chips; they ended up getting us only the fish & chips (+ the salads) and as we asked about the bug and said we didn’t needed the chips; they said they couldn’t take them back or refund because the fish was prepped as we had asked (aka grilled). They were really rude with us ; made us wait so we ended up having to eat the food we didn’t wanted cold. A part from that the atmosphere is really nice

My mouth is watering thinking about the yummy mackeral we had here. Chips were done to perfection as well. We sat out the back overlooking the marina and seagulls. We came back the next day for their $20 kilo mixed local prawns. Mmmm! This is a must when visiting Bowen.

Very disappointing attitude by blonde at this establishment, when I bought there attention to overcharge of pineapple on my bill. Up on the board it says $1 I was billed $2.50 It is illegal not to have the price listed on the board and then bring a take away menus to self justify the price. The blonde would not accept the law over an overcharge of $1.50.

We did the seafood smorgasbord. Well what a feast. If you went away hungry that is your fault. Friendly service. Well worth the $50 a head . Bookings were essential.

Friendly staff. Cooked to order, so fresh, do takeaway and can order online . Very quaint area outside to eat by the harbour . Small play area . Various varieties of boats . The food was delicious. Surprised you have to pay 50c for vinegar. Which I feel fish , chips and vinegar go together. Fresh fish and cooked prawns and Morton bay bugs to buy . Variety on menu not all fish and children meals . Toilets not the best but had toilet rolls. When eating outside beware of the birds they do try and eat your food . We found it funny . Definitely delicious, fresh food , reasonably priced . Will go back when in area .

Amazing fish and chips. Extremely tasty fish and the chips (often overlooked) were great as well. Dine in or take-away possible. Pro tip: take the food away and drive to the lookout point four minutes away, gorgeous views of the ocean + amazing food, an unbeatable combination.

Absolutely loved Birds Fish Bar in Bowen! The location is perfect, right on the waterfront with beautiful views of the marina – a great spot, especially around sunset. The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious, likely thanks to it being locally caught, and you can really taste the difference. Portion sizes were generous, and the food came out quickly. The staff were very friendly and made the experience even better. I’d highly recommend Birds Fish Bar to anyone visiting Bowen – it’s a must-try for great seafood and a laid-back, scenic atmosphere!

We went to Flagstaff Hill to get a view of Bowen and the nearby islands It’s a beautiful lookout place and has a small picnic shelter There’s also a cafe but we didn’t visit it The only thing missing was a Flagstaff and a flag which is weird

As jetties go this is average at best. It was blowen in Bowen when we went both times. We thought early in the morning would be better, not so much. At least you can walk out to the end of the pedestrian Jetty and they have made some upgrades so you can walk out there. Well done Bowen Council.

A evening walk with my daughter and the two furkids has been so wonderful. A cool slight wind to sometimes an extremely strong wind made it all the better. We have been lucky enough to see and photograph several turtles. Also was made aware of how quick a shark can move through the water, when it went passed us at a fast speed. I think I'll stay on the jetty.

All were served perfectly ❤️ Presentation, freshness, flavour were all 10/10 for each meal Service is friendly and the pub is very well fitted out Heaps of on-street parking, sea breeze and view of the water Highly recommended to fellow travellers looking for great food in a convenient location 👍

I've been dining at the Grand View Hotel for a month now, and I have to say, their food is absolutely amazing. The portions are a bit smaller compared to the motels in the Bowen region, but the quality more than makes up for it. However, I had a bit of an odd experience the other night when I ordered two cans of coke at the bar. The bartender opened both cans without asking me first, citing it as the rule. I asked him if he would open all six cans if I had bought that many, and he said yes. I was a bit frustrated at the time and walked off with my open cans. I couldn't help but wonder - if I had bought water instead, would he have opened those too? Or if a nearby diner ran out of coke and had to buy a case from them, would all 30 cans be opened? It just seemed a bit strange to me. Overall, the Grand View Hotel has great food, but I hope they reconsider their policy on opening canned beverages without asking first. It's the little things that can make a big difference in the customer experience.

Don't know what happened to the chef today but the food was disgusting!! Went with the family and we are all feeling sick in our stomachs. Ordered two The Grand View Hotel Smoked Meat Platter. I swear the sausage was so hard I hardly could break it. The meat was old and the salads were sour. My grandma ordered the calamari, so oily it was dripping oil! Yuck 🤮 Food use to be so good here, have no idea what has happened. We told the waiters and never heard again. $109 down the dump for really horrible food. Sad 😔........

I definitely am a return this is my 5th stay here and I love the place , good quiet rooms and very clean . Close to the pub and front beach . Ideal for me . Prices are reasonable and the staff are Fantastic . I have started in just about every motel in Bowen and this is the one I keep coming back to 👍

Double charged me for my room. Refunded but being a bank holiday funds will not be available until next week so now limited on my weekend away. Thanks alot 🤬 Updated review 1 star to 5!. Reception caught me and went well beyond an expected response to the error. Her kindness and understanding of my situation was mind blowing. Absolutely recommend this motel.

Didn't give me a room because i have tattoos and ride a harley Davidson. Told me to go stay in the pub. I don't drink i own my own business. Talk about being judgemental. She was rude very rude. One lady told me yes they have rooms but the other thing just judged me. My advice stay at the castle motel. It's clean quiet and non judgemental

The property was clean and well-maintained, with excellent pricing. The receptionist was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

We loooooove a giant roadside attraction and the Big Mango is no exception! Incredible masterpiece that you can walk right up to, great photo-op. The ant on it isn’t really my vibe but other than that, no notes.

This BIG MANGO is so cool!! Grabbed a mango sorbet from the visitor information centre to support local mango business! ($6.5 each) The visitor information centre also provide free instant coffee for tired drivers which is amazing!!!

The previous review says it all! Don't miss the Big Mango, an iconic Australian Big Thing. Loved our time in the Information Centre. The staff here are wonderful. We learn't that our Host at the self-contained Base Camp that we stayed at, Trudy, works here. Great camp btw. We bought some touristy stuff, got great info on what to see and do in the area as well as a great tip to visit Birds Fish Bar at the Marina for fresh fish & chips, and we both had a mango ice cream cone. Yuuum! Well worth the stop right on the Bruce highway before Bowen. Look out for the Big Mango.

Pretty impressive. Definitely the biggest Mango I’ve ever seen. The staff at the tourist office was very friendly and tried to make us go to Bowen. So we did. I saw a little mango there too. But that’s about when it comes to interesting things in Bowen. Anyway, try the mango sorbet. It was yummy

Stopped in on our way home to Mackay from Townsville. The facilities were very clean. Overheard a staff member giving tourists some information and thought they were very knowledgeable about the area. Whilst we didn't partake in some frozen mango the freezer was very well stocked. Would recommend stopping in.

It's a big mango. It's a tourist information Centre that has toilets as well. There are great views of the beach. There is a real mango tree next to the big mango and plenty of brochures and signs with things to do in the local area. Beware of the front grass section ... Read the sign to find out why.

Don't order the pasta - it's overpriced and not good. The staff are nice, happy that there is plentiful seating, pizzas were pretty good. Get that wifi fixed! Otherwise a pretty decent experience. Thank you.

Pizza’s were amazing, it’d be 5 stars if they were a bit bigger. It was so easy to use the online ordering service Pizza Hut has, as well as the fast delivery. Happy customers and we will definitely return. Thank you Pizza Hut Bowen. Keep up the great work.

Terrible customer service and burnt food. They forgot a part of our order and the response to it was laughable. They had a big meeting to figure it all out, then made us feel like it was our fault. Told us to wait another 10 minutes and then no apology, just completely ignored me whilst I wished him a good night. Definitely will not be wasting my money there again.

A very nice spot. Along the lines of a traditional Pizza Hut where you can sit at a table to eat. Very fresh, modern decor.

Honestly the best pizza hut pizzas we've had. The young staff are always polite and friendly, and if you're dining in the tables and booths are always clean.

That was the best seafood we have had in a while. Father had fish burger and loved it, hubby had crumbed scallops and oysters and a piece of Barra and he said he loved it too. Me I went with the crumbed chicken burger and it was delicious. Both burgers came with chips that are hot as. Everything was fresh and yummy. Will be calling in again when we drive past. Thank you. The freshest and fairest priced seafood around, highly recommended, stopped in on a trip through and then again 2 weeks later when passing back through town to fill our fridge to take home! 2 great sized cooked muddies for $60 and sushimi grade Tuna for $10. Very clean venue with a great range including a selection of gourmet sauces.

The best fish and chips comming into Bowen from the south virtually straight across from the big mango information centre. It's the cleanest take away fish shop I have been in and outside as well has tables outside to sit around. Friendliest people and the best customer service 👌 cannot knock them good price.and I love my fish and chips every town I go through gotta taste there fish and chips. I have found a few.those chips may seem a little amount why I ask for only what I can eat.you do get more than that tho.

The freshest fish! We had the red throat emperor and it was stunning and perfectly cooked. The shop itself is the cleanest I've seen with lots of choice of seafood for cooking or to purchase raw. We bought and drove down to the water to eat. Highly recommend

We pulled in on our way through, towing a van. Easy parking. We had a chicken burger and some fried food. The burger was the highlight and would definitely recommend. We also grabbed some oysters and other bits and pieces for later on. Great place, plenty of choice, shaded outdoor dining areas that are clean and tidy. Would have been a 5 star review all the way if the girl serving had made even the slightest effort to be friendly.

Good service and good food. Great selection in the fridges too. Great place to stop in and sit down at the tables and chairs provided. We stopped in on our way north. And we'll be stopping in again on our return south.

Good views onto the sea from here. Lovely staff who are willing to give you a map of Bowen and explain what you can do there. Excellent mango sorbet. Plus nice air con and free tea and coffee for any driver that needs a boost for their journey. And bonus it’s right next to the big mango for some fun photos.

Leanne and Cindy were extremely helpful. I phoned Leanne from Mackay the previous day looking for dog sitting, and when we arrived in Bowen she had found someone, so we were able to book a Whitsundays cruise which we were looking forward to. This was above and beyond what is normally expected. Cindy booked our cruise for us, and then we had a yummy mango sorbet since this is also the site for the Big Mango.

Did a day trip from Cannonvale to Bowen this morning. Quick stop at the Giant mango😃 then went into the information centre to grab some brochures and map. The two ladies were friendly and very helpful! Yes, we did try the famous mango sorbet and its delicious! Knowing its pure mango no sugar no nasty stuff, its a must to have!! And we also got the rum and raisin on an waffle cone..they all delicious! Yep, its warm enough to have sorbet and ice cream in Bowen🤟🌞🌞🌞 Highly recommended guys. Stop by and get yourself the sorbet and the ice cream!!😋😋

After driving to bowen from Airlie Beach and checking the opening times on Google search prior to leaving airlie. I arrived to see that the building was shut and the opening times on the wall stated closed for every month of this year. Please update your website so this doesn't happen to anyone else. Very disappointing.

The Bowen Water Park, a free park, is a great place for kids 10 and under, it provides spectacular views of the beach while under cover and in some water. I see this place as an essential service to the Bowan region as it provides a place for family and small kids to relax without the scorching heat.

Amazing for the kids. Beautiful area. Plenty of spots for BBQ, Picnic, Running ect… I only wish my kids didn’t get sick every time we visit the waterpark.

Awesome place to take the kids to wear them out for the afternoon. Its good fun with bbq areas along the broadwalk and shaded areas to sit and enjoy the day out.

Great spot to picnic and have a BBQ. On a windy day it's good for kite flying. The BBQ, ablution and waste disposal facilities are excellent. The piers would be good for fishing on a still day.

Such a great stopover for kids on a long road trip. Very close to the ev charger. It’s getting slightly run down. Needs some maintenance. But Love it!

Nice water park for children. Adults can have their fun too. There is a BBQ grill right next to it wich is clean and in function. I think their are no showers or toilets next to the water park but their are toilets on the coast walk. Drinking water is there everywhere around the water park. There is a swimming pool for adults and children in the same street wich is great for swimming.

Great 9 hole course. Really good value. Great layout. The wife and I had a great time.

A fun course layout , right on the beach. We booked for 9 holes after 2pm. A group of juniors rocked up and teed up in front of us. We eventually off at 3pm. The last 3 holes the parents who were walking joined in making it 6 players. We finished in the dark ! Wish we were told - please don’t come today

Awesome but challenging 9 hole course. Fairways have full lush grass coverage and greens had recently been renovated. Friendly barstaff in the clubhouse and cold beers as well. Cant go wrong....

Visiting from Cairns; this golf course is in a beautiful location with fairways literally 15m from the beach waterfront. Easy enough yet challenging for someone like myself who just plays for fun. A few water crossings and sand bunkers to contend with but would definitely bring my clubs from Cairns again if I ever decided to visit again.

The fish terrine with tarragon and salty caper tartar sauce was both appetizing and delicious. The main course of grilled eggplant and quinoa was also satisfying, and the dessert of French crepes, light and chewy, paired perfectly with the home made caramel sauce. After a round of golf, relaxing on the balcony with dinner and wine while overlooking the seaside and golf course was very enjoyable. Thanks to the chef for their attentiveness and the friendly service staff, it was a wonderful experience.

Magnesium pool is the draw card, the health shop, coffee, acai bowls and toasted sandwiches are yummy. Tony and Bernie were very welcoming and shared their local knowledge. Currently renovating but watch this space, it is pleasant now but will be amazing in the future...well done Tony and Bernie, we need more small local caravan parks like yours. If we are ever up this way again we will be back. Let's support small business.

Love this small but very complete camp parking. It has around 20 parking slots but the location is perfect. Just a couple of minutes walking to the beach where sunrise is just stunning. The amenities are good, very complete kitchen and clean and spacious showers (had problems with hot water but it got fixed quickly). Book in advance to enjoy this lovely caravan park.

We booked for a week & stayed for 2weeks. Tony & Bernie are so friendly & doing an amazing job with this little park. Fantastic coffee & juices, & excellent range of sweet & savoury treats.So many health products, from protein powders to sunblocks, spices so much to choose from. Great swimming beach one side & long off lead dog running beach the other side which our dog loved , did I mention the bush walks you can do across to Murray Bay & Horseshoe Bay, We can’t wait to go back Sal & Mark

AMAZING love the small boutique style park, right near the beach , excellent revamp of bathroom amenities and the onsite coffee shop has everything you need for a quick snack, ice cream or coffee- Bernie & Tony have done an amazing job resurrecting what WAS a run down park. WE WILL BE BACK!!

Mike & Bernie are lovely hosts. Fantastic location. Make sure to walk over to Murray’s Beach . Cafe / Shop has the most delicious food. Shhhhh don’t tell too many people about this little gem of a caravan park .

It’s not a bit park, but Tony and Bernie got BIG personalities and that counts for them. Amenities are very clean and the shop on site makes the best coffee, being a pet friendly park I’m sure people with 4 legged friends will make great use of the park. Tony has his own well trained dogs and there are dog friendly beaches no more than 100 meters from the park. Slabbed sites with water and drainage is well maintained, Tony willing to assist in getting your van perfectly aligned is a big plus. Definitely will be back soon thanks Tony and Bernadette

Opens when he wants to, burns the patties, doesn't clean his hands and is rude to customers. The most over hyped burger shack I've ever been to. Locals here will tell you how good it is, but I think they just don't know how good burgers can actually be. I've only been able to eat here twice as every other time, he's just not open because he can't be bothered to stick to the hours he publishes.

Suntan special was a VeRy nIcE bUrGeR! VetY TasTY!!! You could even take that for a dinner if you feel like not cooking. By the way, my partner had a bacon burger and I was told that it was GreAT as WeLL!! So, you can take any burger!!

A burger worthy of the name. Delicious, generously garnished, prepared in front of you with quality products. Test the Suntan Special with several meats a pure feast. If you grew up in the 70's then this joint is THE place to grab a feed. No muckin' around, classic burger and chips flavor cooked the way they were when the world was colored sepia. Service had just finished about 10 minutes before we arrived. The staff were very helpful, very friendly and kind. They kindly accommodated 2 weary and hungry travellers. Great food. The burgers were superb. Tasty, fresh and filling. You couldn’t fault the customer service at all.

Went for lunch and was disappointed in the food. Our main meals came at different times and were terrible. Hard, cold cheese on top of stale chips, on top of a small amount of pork at the bottom of the bowl (for nachos). Had to pull apart the top to even find any pork. Resturant was empty execpt for us and one other table having drinks. Waitress was lovely when we informed her about the food but management didn't offer a replacement meal or a refund just a free drink. Poor waitress was mortified. We left without the drink, bad response from management who didn't bother to speak with us.

Always has a nice atmosphere. Went for dinner last night with my husband and two kids, we ordered pizzas. They were delicious, staff was friendly and the singer was a good choice. She had a lovely voice and great choice of songs. Was an enjoyable night for us.

Hands down the best coffee I have ever had!! We had bacon & eggs and a breakfast wrap to eat and they were both so delicious. The service was quick, professional and so friendly. The manager was lovely and nothing was a problem. The shop set up is so spacious and it reminded me of boujee coffee shops in Brisbane. They also have a big outdoor area so kids can run around that’s fully fenced. There are a few coffee shops in Bowen but this one is the best. I highly recommend visiting Le Sorelle.

Lovely little Cafe. Stopped in for brunch. Shame there was no spinach. Substituted with Rocket, however, just not the same. Great spot if you have little kiddies as there is a large playground. Apple/Pineapple juice was very nice. Overall, it was a great experience.

Contemplating moving to Bowen so I can make this place my regular coffee haunt!! The coffee was perfect, the scone delicious, and the fudge, oh Lordy the fudge, mouthwatering!!! The service was so genuinely friendly. If we were not travelling would love to have stayed longer to soak up the atmosphere. Well done to the staff!!!!

Been here twice on our visit to Bowen. Both times staff were attentive & friendly. Coffee was excellent & toast plentiful & hot. Totally agree with management re: dogs & the dog owners' sense of entitlement to come into a cafe. Whilst there a man snuck his dog in & it was slipping all over the floor as he was hurrying to leave. When I go to cafe & restaurant I don't want someone's dog sniffing, licking or coming anywhere near me. Not everyone likes your dog!

This place was a very hidden gem just off the Bruce Highway in Bowen. The place is a true delight to stop for coffee or brunch I ordered three mains and they were all delicious, just be sure to request your favourite sauce or topping as the food arrives with out any sauce unless you specifically request it. But it's great food, the portions are generous and I truly enjoyed the meal, as did my family.

We had an excellent experience for brekkie, no problems with any of our requests. Lovely time with the ladies there.

Friendly young staff but how does any owner/manager allow 2 seperate drinking water containers to have such gunked up filters as to make the water so toxic and quite undrinkable Disgusted ! had to go home to get a glass of water to drink. Staff said must need new filters and they would tell someone. But no action. Then no paper towel in dispenser in toilet confirms quite indifferent management . Is it a wonder that some small businesses struggle ?

We had an absolutely amazing experience at this restaurant! Everything was incredible, from the delicious food to the cozy atmosphere. This is a small Korean restaurant in Bowen with great taste, service and good price. We had a lovely dinner here and were very happy with spicy squid, rice and veges, kimchi, and beef bulgogi. Everything was very tasty, the chef came and asked how we liked the food and we got extra sides of kimchi which we loved. The staff smiles and is a pleasure to talk to which is as common these days. Highly recommended.

Food was great, good range of alcohols. We enjoyed our meal and drinks. Highly recommend if anyone stop by Bowen and want Korean food. However, It’s will be great if you could serve some side dishes while wait for the main meal. We could drink more if there side dishes. Thanks for the meal :)

What an unexpected surprise in Bowen! Kimchi jjigae that tastes just like it’s fresh from a Korean mum’s kitchen. Tender pork, spicy and sour soup and a generous amount of kimchi. This is truly comfort food at its best. Excellent service as well. Thank you Jipbop!

Enjoyed the authentic Korean dishes on the menu and even the bulgogi burger which we ordered by mistake but really enjoyed. Congrats to the owners for coming up with the combo, well done a nice Aussie twist on your delicious Korean bulgogi. Going back to sample some more dishes.

Such a shame for Australia to prioritize coal over the Great Barrier Reef. Maybe good money short term, but for sure not a good deal in the long run. Not gonna visit this country!

Can't believe how many coal mines are in Queensland. I suppose we'll only ever understand once there's nothing left and the world is too polluted to live in. It's sad we don't see it now.

Interesting that the port does not welcome visitors like Hay Point. Was informed that it was a private area and I must turn around before crossing the railway line just off the highway. Something to hide?

I would give this port zero stars if that was an option. The Aurizon railway line feeds coal trains into Abbot Point, which then ships dirty coal out over the dying Great Barrier Reef, destined for coal burning in countries like India where thousands die from air pollution daily. Close it down.

Adani participates strongly and voluntarily in the destruction of the coral reef and pollution. On top of that, they have asked the police to arrest French journalists to hide things the world would like to see.

Whoever is running this showgrounds, keep doing what you are doing, you're all legends. Not what I expected from a show society in a place like Bowen and the caretaker looks after the joint well. Awesome show to go to if you're in Bowen that time of year.

Had a great night at Bowen speedway located in the Bowen show grounds. Well run speed way meeting with sidecars as the main attraction. Had bikes juniors and carts. There was good seating in the stands and the food trucks were really good. But cold but had a blanket and jacket. Great night of racing.

Show day at Bowen. Friendly people, lots of stalls and camel rides.

Toilet and especially the shower facilities at the showgrounds were a welcome relief after a day in the Don River watching the races.

There is a woodworking group that meets every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.

Water and dump point available to passers by for zero cost.

There is a reason that it’s called Sunset Point and it never disappoints. You get to watch the ocean come into the river as the sun sets in the horizon. Great for dog walks, walks in general and even a picnic

Bowen is all about the ocean views. Sunset Bay is another example of this. It is just a place where a river meets a beach but worth a look. Lovely view. There is a tap (not a great one) to wash your feet afterwards. Easy parking.

I loved the place but didn't see the No Overnight Camping sign and at 2.20am someone bashed on my door, I fell out of bed, my dog went off barking and couldn't contain himself as the knocking got louder and louder. It sounded like whoever was out there was going to bash the door down. Eventually, I climbed onto my front seat and opened my window slightly. A huge guy in work gear stood there, asking me why I was parked on Council land? I told him that the land does not belong to the Council but to the People of Australia. He said he would issue me with an 'on the spot fine $2,000 and that I needed to pay right away. I told him I wouldn't pay the fine. He got all huffy and said he doesn't want to argue with me. He handed me a card regarding the No Camping restrictions within Bowen QLD but the same restrictions cover the whole Whitsunday areas. He eventually walked back to his SUV, stayed for a while before flashing me with his high beams and driving off He never identified himself as a Ranger. This whole incident upset me to the core; glad I never left my Van but we did leave the area and found a safe spot near the Town Centre I absolutely hate driving in the dark. Council always requests the public to be respectful towards them - have they forgotten that this goes both ways? If Council workers take the liberty to harass the public (people who pay their wages) in the middle of the night, does that mean that they've extended their business hours and we're now paying overtime rates on unlawful harrassment? Did the People of Australia vote for this shite? No!!! If you're wondering why I'm sleeping in my Van, I've paid my taxes here in Australia for 44 years but CONVID and the Mortgage Scam placed me here and I'm trying to enjoy the rest of my life as best as I can. I know I'm not the only one!!!!

Not the greatest beach but a popular spot to watch a sunset. An easy walk from the carpark.

This was the perfect spot to stop for our family picnic! There is a fun little playground for the kids, a basketball court, reasonably clean amenities, plenty of shade, and direct access to the beach.

Great walking tracks. Addition of red bench under the banyan tree is perfect.

Markets at the weekend. Music, food and lots of stalls.

They don’t clean the tables. Every table was sticky. On some outdoor tables was still left over food that hasn’t been thrown away. Perfekt for wildlife watching. The toilets (men) are full with poop.

Place was not clean. It looked like they hadn’t had someone go around the place for quite some time. Worse, the area where orders were given out was also filthy.

Good place to stop on your travels. Service was quick. Coffee, frappe and raspberry & custard pies were very good. Clean environment with toilets included in that. No rubbish around at all. Eating area outside was very good to keep out on the sun. Protected from that wind too.Tables were not clean but that was from the wind Recommended !!

Most disappointing Mc Donald’s as ordered food waited an hour and got the food it was cold un Edible tried to treat my kids in the end it was punishment wasted $80 staff are always rude not all but most and when u walk in as they have ur order wrong ur made out like ur the one in the wrong u can complain but falls on deaf ears nothing ever changes productivity is always down very rare would u get fresh chip or bugar so disappointing it’s not funny pick ur game up or close down and red roster open back up never had a problem with them……

Maccas isnt good most of the time but this was something else. Had to wait in the bay for "fresh fries" but they were cold and hard, burgers were terrible, i dont know how they did it but the beef was hard and crispy. Terrible.

Food was average, the new MacRib is ok and the El Maco is disappointing, weak taste and no creativity. Otherwise, clean store, with plenty of car parking spots and next to a gas station. Service is mediocre, nothing new. Limited number of self-service kiosks, play area for kids and different seating arrangement.

Absolutely the best Maccas breakfast I've had in all of Victoria, NSW and QLD!!

A lovely hike around this headland, with great views from Mother Beddock and other high points such as the WWII radar site. The steps are mostly precast concrete, so very even and easy climbing compared to other trails.

Beautiful walk to this amazing lookout from Murray’s Bay car park. It is part of the longer coastal walk. Easy steps, slightly strenuous uphill walk, suitable for most fitness levels

Impressive enormous boulder perched on a cliff above the sea, with views of the coast and islands near Bowen. Worth the mild exertion to walk up to it from Rose Bay or Murray Bay.

Mother Bedrock lived up to it's name and it is amazing to stand next to this massive wonder. How many cyclones has it survived? And a unique view of Bowen from there.

Hard going with all those stairs But worth it

A great walk through nature, a wonderful lookout, the view is magnificent. You can do a few trails the scenery is breathtaking. Take water bottle, and wear sneakers or similar as Rocky in parts.

The walk is signed as a Grade 4. Not sure why. It's not hard. At the end of Murray Bay Rd there is a carpark. It is here that you can start the walk to Mother Beddock if you just want to do a quick up and back. The photo attached shows the view. You can keep walking if you want and follow the path to another lookout. A bit further you get to a sort of "y" intersectio where the main path to the left takes you down to Rose Bay or there is a smaller path to the right that takes you back to Murray Bay Rd and then you turn right to follow the road to the carpark. It is also possible to start your walk at Horseshoe Bay near the Cafe but this would make it quite a long walk as you would want to stop and see the Rotary Lookout, the WW2 radar and then come past Murray's Beach. None of it is hard although for both the Rotary lookout and WW2 radar there are a few rocks to step up at the end. I am hardly what you would call agile and I found it easy. None of the walks are any good with a pram or a mobility issue though. There is a bubbles at Murray Bay Rd carpark and toilets at Horseshoe Bay.

We walk over 80kms a week but this 2.5kms took us 1.5 hrs with so many stairs.The return took about 25 minutes Very hot and not many views.

Nice walk. It took me 1.5 hours one way, including resting and taking pictures. The path is easy to follow, there are signs and blue marks on the ground so you know where to go. The start point as shown on google maps is not right. The track starts on the right side of the horseshoe beach parking.

This place is a must visit when you are in the area. Beach is just perfect 🥰. Bring your snorkelling gear and they say you can see the great barrier reef just meters out from shore.

Glorious views from up here! The cafe has been closed since the early 2017 cyclone. Water fountain and picnic tables available. Telescope is $2 for a short use

Hasn't changed in over 10 years. But still a great spot to visit for a view over the islands and town - so pretty. Don't bother visiting on a public holiday because the Cafe will be shut, some how we've managed to do that twice in 10 years. Gardens are pretty near the Cafe and to the north but the carpark and viewing platform needs landscaping and weed control to improve the view - can't see part of the view due to weeds. No identified walking tracks or trails from the top of the hill.

What a magnificent lookout and the cafe serves great food and drinks.

Stunning views. Plenty of parking. Couple of picnic tables. The signposted (and obviously new)cafe has yet to open, ditto toilets. On site conference/interp facility has no accommodation ... might be more suitable for weddings and functions.

standard kebab $14.5 each- they were nice not really big servings. Chips $8 they were soggy mango lasse $7 in between small and regular size. the yoguht gives it a sour taste but still a strong mango flavour could go better colder or with ice. The chicken skewers are no longer on the menu Turkish delight 4x pieces for $6 there are quite small pieces but are tasty but feel like they were old stock. Baklava 2x very small pieces for $7 I didnt like it.

The HSP here tastes amazing and fresh. The price to portion ratio is fair. The customer service is super friendly. For the place atmosphere is okay. Overall I'm very satisfied.

We had an issue with uber eats, but Malik was more than happy to help and immediately came up with solutions, even offering to deliver it personally. The food has always been perfect and he takes great pride in his business. Could not leave a better review

Visiting Bowen from Townsville and decided on Kebabs for dinner. The kebabs were so tasty and full but not overfilled( meaning the bum didn’t fall out of it) totally enjoyable meal, cooked to perfection. Sorry I had not tried them sooner. A+

Staff are very friendly, food is great and served in generous portions. He recommended the mango shake and it didnt disappoint as it had a slight sour and strong mango taste to it. Definitely good on a hot day.

Small store but packs a mighty punch with a varied menu, love the kebabs and they always get the order right.

Everything was fresh. The kebab was toasted and crispy. The HSP had lots of sauce. I like 😍

No one on site, top of fridge filthy with ants and cockroaches, and towel still dirty. Bed was clean and comfortable but I wouldn’t stay here again. Cleaner knocked on all doors at 8am even though cars outside each room and clearly not ready to leave.

Great coffee and food was even better. Also the fresh juice for breaky is delicious.

Great little cafe, coffee was nice and my gf enjoyed her ice shake. Decor is brand new as of September 2016 and the staff super helpful. Will definitely make this my local cafe while I am in Bowen :) Could improve the menus are a bit tacky - laminated paper. Otherwise superb

I visit this place weekly while out of town for work. One of the best of many cafes in the beautiful seaside town of Bowen. There is enough room for me to park my truck nearby. Located on a corner of the town's main street it is easily located. A clean, well presented interior is decorated in a nautical theme with many wooden sail boat models lining the walls. Very good food and outstanding service from very friendly and welcoming staff. The cafe is small enough to be called intimate, yet not cramped. Eggs Benedict is highly recommended and the coffee served will please even seasoned coffee snobs:-). On site toilets are provided and are free of charge and kept unlocked. After a meal you could take a ten minute walk down to the foreshore where the are many public amenities. If your pulling off the highway at Bowen for fuel I highly recommend taking the extra time out to stretch your legs and have a meal and a coffee at this great little cafe. They also have an attached hotel if you're needing a longer rest in a bed for the night. So help survive the drive and hit the road the following day well rested and with a full stomach.

Clean and comfortable and the street was pretty quit at night. Perfect place to break the journey to Brisbane. Right in the middle of town and can walk down to the waterfront or the pub, pizza shops close by. Would definitely stay here again.

Still a lovely spot. Good coffee, open at 630am so if you want to have breakfast and get going early you can. The eggs Benedict is good, the bacon is excellent, the hollandaise sauce could be hotter. Apart from that all good, the smoothies are still excellent

Lovely cafe with a great menu for breakfast and lunch. I had the new vegan breakfast and it was really tasty and and a generous size. Turmeric latte also very good. Friendly staff, this will be my go-to cafe when I’m in Bowen
