Specialty Museums
Beamish, the Living Museum of the North, is a vast open-air museum spread across 350 acres of picturesque Durham countryside. It offers an immersive experience into the history of North East England, with costumed staff and meticulously recreated Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian settings. The museum features historic buildings and thousands of industrial artifacts, vehicles, and livestock.
What an experience! The effort they have gone to to create an amazing and immersive experience is insane! Moving buildings brick by brick to keep authenticity is going above and beyond and protects our heritage. The staff and volunteers are incredible, with their acting and knowledge, they complete the experience. You can buy bread, sweets even fish and chips! There is also a restaurant with a great range of food and drinks. We arrived at opening time and left at closing time and only just managed to see almost everything. The best part? Our ticket is valid for 12months so we can come back!

I last visited this museum on a family holiday 46 years when I was a kid. It put a long lasting impression on me and I have wanted to return for too many years. It was a lot smaller then but has grown and expanded into a great museum showing ever aspect of life in Britain for the last 200 years. Travel on buses and trams throughout the museums different towns and environments. Your ticket lasts a full year. We took 2 days to visit on this occasion and I am certain it won't be another 46 years to return. They run special events, eg Halloween and Christmas. I am disabled an took my scooter. Its battery run out 200 yards from us concluding our visit on the first day but the staff on a 1950s bus stopped and radio'ed for help. We were taken back to our car by the wardens. All the staff there where very friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I loved this place and we will be back very soon. We live in Merseyside and wish there was a lot more living museums throughout the country. Thank you very much for a great place to visit. No one will leave unhappy.

An excellent experience (and took my memories back to visiting my grandparents when I was young). Although I’d recommend booking tickets to beat the queues, we hadn’t and even in half term week there wasn’t too long a wait. The whole museum spreads out over a considerable area. Lots of walking therefore. The exhibits take the form of original buildings, all furnished and presented in period - and well-explained by costumed guides. ♿️The main site is very accessible and well equipped. Lots of accessible toilets and restaurants. However, like any house or town, the exhibits are varying in levels of ease of access. In my view many of the exhibits had been spoiled by the addition of a hallowe’en theme. For example Victorian rooms festooned with fake spiders’ webs and pumpkins. These were all over. They are fine in their place, but today detracted from the authenticity of the museum which we had paid to see. There would have been no fake spiders webs and pumpkins in a real Victorian school room. On the whole, though, the museum was excellent and worth revisiting

What a lovely day out. Even though we were there all day, didn't quite manage to get round it all. Favourite but was the co op. Trams and busses quite frequent. Went to the bank and the manager showed me all the old money with explanation, interesting. An old cinema, showing old films, great. A few refreshments stops, including the old fish and chips shop in the 1950s, obviously tried that, very nice. Would recommend this place
Gillian M — Google review
Absolutely fantastic!! The people who work here are absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable. My children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learning about the past. Living history is so much more interesting and relatable. Sharing this with them was heartwarming. I from a generation where our parents are old enough to have experienced the end of war and grandparents who were considered working class Victorians.
Sarah D — Google review
Fantastic day out at Beamish. We spent 4 Hours wondering around the many different areas they have. We were very impressed with the new 1950s area which has been installed at the museum. It is great to see the museum continually growing and developing.

What a step back in time 😃 such a lovely time had here. I have been in the past and visited again recently with my family. We visited during the school holidays so we knew it would be busy, which it was. Its a bit pricey to get in at 33 pound each but you do get to visit as many times as you like throughout the year with that one payment pass so, if you visit another cpl times its well worth the money. The staff are what makes this place, so knowledgeable and engaging. The tavern where u can stop, grab a hot drink and be told tales of the past was great and the guy telling the ghost stories of the cursed hand was great and funny too. I absolutely loved my visit and will 100% be back when its a little quieter when I hope to be able to get into the sweet shop!
Ashleigh H — Google review
Loved it was absolutely amazing. We had a good few people recommend it and everyone said you would have to take a few trips to take it all in. So we plane to visit a few times because we only had a look at a few bits but not all of it. We had arrived about 10 minutes before they actully opened so only a bit of a wait witch I didnt really mined at all. £58 pounds to get in just the 2 of us. But the next time we plan to visit the min town on the bus or tram. We spent a few hours walking around and I think we had betten the rain actully today. Hopefully the next time it will be better weather all around.

Fish and chips takeaway
Davy’s Fried Fish, located inside Beamish Museum, offers a generous portion of bear battered and dripping fried fish and chips. The 1950s chip shop boasts stunning period interior features and serves original fish & chips cooked in original fat. Despite the long queues, visitors appreciate the old-fashioned cooking style and the fact that everything is made from scratch. While some may find the wait time a downside, many agree that it's well worth it for the great quality of food.
Been wanting to try these fish and chips for years. Having worked in a chippy for a long time I was intrigued to see a coal fire range and to taste it. The chips were lovely, not as crispy as I like but so tasty and fluffy. Dripping for chips is the best. The fish batter was light and crispy and the fish inside was meaty and tasty. It was so interesting to see the old range and how it worked, and how much hard work it is. The price was reasonable too considering it was inside a tourist trap. I would deffo recommend

It's not often that something lives up to high expectations. This did. The fish n' chips are the best I've ever had, and I'm used to visiting Whitby. I've no idea how it tastes so good, or if my hunger helped them taste better. The chips were fantastic and the fish better still. Well worth standing in line for 30 minutes.
Richard B — Google review
The fish and chips were the best ever in the museum, fresh and soft, but there was no coke on the drinks menu...you have to bring one with you.
Crystal C — Google review
Had lovely Birthday treat at Beamish, love the Fish&Chips at Davies, excellent fish, very tasty, chips was great, but a lot, didn't finish all chippies. Price was good, and service was great.
Marika M — Google review
Probably the best fish and chips in the UK, we were even considering getting a yearly Beamish ticket just to be able to come back here regularly! Watch out though as the queues can get extremely long around school holidays (I would visit Beamish at a quieter time if you can)! The beef dripping adds such an amazing umami flavour to the fish and chips and the coal fires adds a wonderful smokiness which I just do not think can be replicated anywhere else. This is am absolute must when visiting Beamish
Neha — Google review
Really good quality fish and chips. Great to see them making everything from scratch which definitely added to the whole experience. We waited a fair while to get in which was one of the few bad points but overall I would be back if I was visiting the Beamish again.
Jackss — Google review
This is my favourite Fish & Chip shop in the country bar none. Coal powered fryers and chips cooked in beef dripping as they should be. You can get a full portion of Fish and Chips or go for a Dab and Chips which is a half lot of fish with chips. Sometimes tje queue can be long and you may have to wait a bit but let me tell you the food is worth every minutes of the wait. No trip to Beamish is complete without a stop in here.
Rob C — Google review
Waited an hour. Go either around 4 o’clock or silly early. Or maybe try the fish and chip shop in town. With so much to see it’s a shame to spend so much of it queuing, but that’s Beamish. With such a streamlined menu service should be much faster. But a skeleton crew of 3, overworked and stressed, doesn’t make for a great experience. £24.85 for 2 fish and chips and a posh bottle of juice.

Beamish 1900s Pit Village

5.0
(1)
Museum
Beamish 1900s Pitt Village is a replica village built around an original disused mine. It features miners' cottages, a church, a Victorian school and yard, a meeting hall, and a village green. Visitors can explore pit paraphernalia and take a tour down the old mine with retired miners. The village also includes gardens, stables, mine equipment, community hall, workshops, and places to buy food such as Davy's Fish & Chips.
One of the first areas of Beamish Museum to come into existence although with the 1900 town. I was only a teenager but remember the tram going between them. The main feature here is a tour down an old mine with retired miners. ⛏️ As a replica village it also has miners cottages with gardens, school, church, stables, mine equipment, community hall and workshops. There are places to buy food including Davy's Fish & Chips but you will need to be patient. Highly recommend you include this in your trip. 😎👍

At Pockerley Hall 1820s Beamish Museum, visitors can participate in the fun activity of making ice cream at the welfare hall every Friday. They also have the opportunity to contribute to designing a delicious sundae. The public will vote on the selection of sundaes, and the winning creation will be sold at Johns Cafe when it opens in The 1950s Town as part of the Remaking Beamish project.
Beautiful old mansion house with old 'poor family' flat at the side. It is an original building on the Beamish Museum site dressed up as a 1800 mansion with servants quarters and gardens. It also has one of the newest buildings, an old Tavern with a hand pottery workshop to the rear with picnic benches for outdoor eating. Enjoy 😋 Remember to visit the church and Quilters cottage down the hill. 😎👍

An interesting and informative part of the Beamish experience with farm animals and the atmospheric old hall to walk around. There's toilets here and a small cafe/bar next to the hall.

Indian restaurant
A la Spicery is an exceptional Indian restaurant that never fails to impress. The dining experience is delightful and full of pleasant surprises. The food is outstandingly delicious, with tender lamb and chicken tikka that have a distinct and special flavor in each dish. The talented chef creates a great variety of enticing specialties. The service is excellent, with attentive staff who make you feel welcome and relaxed in the comfortable, newly refurbished restaurant.
Interior is lovely, staff very friendly, food very good, and lovely hot plates, prices very reasonable.only complaint one person in our party food was to hot and spicey for them to eat,it hasn't warnings on heat of spices etc on the menu which on ordering her usual meal she has at any other Indian restaurant so wasn't expecting it to so hot. Waitress was very sweet and helpful.managers, after complaining, did relent and took her meal off the bill. Definitely return, but recommend asking how hot and spicey the dish is that's being ordered,if you don't like it too spice hot.

Ordered first time and the wrong order came at first called them up the lady on the phone was absolutely lovely and sorted it straight away but unfortunately food came meat was awful chewy and I ordered Madras putting in the notes absolutely no onions please but it came with onions anyways(no attention paid to the notes at all) Nans where very flavourless Definitely would not recommend!!! £35 down the drain

Staff lovely, made welcome, felt relaxed and at home in the comfortable and newly refurbished restaurant. Thank you. 😊 We've since had a takeaway which was just as enjoyable, would recommend. !!

After reopening the food was really good but unfortunately its going down hill again !! . Sure that the chefs are pre cooking food for the next day's through laziness ,stale Papadums bad salads soft bhajis etc Such a shame as this place could be really good .

Tried this out for the first time with a friend. Both of us are big foodies so constantly try new places, really liked this place. Welcoming, clean, tidy, nice atmospere etc, all the things you want. Restroom spotless too. Comprehensive menu and we did the deal that is available on a thurs/sun for £15.95. Food was quick, piping hot and full of flavour. Both enjoyed our meal and both said we will be back.

Day 2

Center of town

Beamish Holiday Park is a delightful campground nestled in the picturesque countryside, just a stone's throw from the renowned Beamish Museum and only a short drive from Newcastle city center. This charming site offers an array of accommodations, including pitches for campers and tents, as well as mobile home and pod rentals. Families will appreciate the dedicated play area where kids can enjoy themselves while parents relax.
Great little site can just let kids go a play in the park. Pitches for tents are a good size. Facilities are spotless. good wash area also laundry room (coined)
Thomas K — Google review
Awful. Crammed in with no space. No room to manoeuvre. And people have very little space for chairs etc… Really expensive laundry comparatively. We stayed 5 nights and it was hell. We are now in a lovely place and it really shows how awful this place is. Screaming kids. Full time residents swearing talking about fights and police. Our daughter hopefully didn’t pickup any of it! Showers are always dirty as the water saving timers are too short and the pressure is poor. So it doesn’t wash away anything. So unless you’re the first in you get all the left over dirt and hair from the previous few users. My first shower flooded into the main area in the shower block. If you want to go to beamish take the hit and travel to it from a better location. Do not stay here. The worst I’ve seen.
Gavin — Google review
Lovely caravan park. We camped here due to son playing football locally pitch sizes are all cramened with the electric hook ups tripping all the time husband reported someone would check it out but never did went to bar ordered some food 2 chips for £7 and a Chicago town pizza £9.95 lucky if chips had ten in the box absolutely horrendous put us off and no buying any more drinks from here because of it picture below. Know these places are generally more expensive but that takes the biscuit
Nichola — Google review
Very small pitches that are too close together, were advised that no vans on site despite seeing 3 campervans whilst there. Facilities for showers are good, however water isn't able to be adjusted and had a shut off of about 1min! Sensors prevent overusage but annoying. No where to walk your dog that they do welcome at a costly price of a fiver a night? Won't be returning!
Richard R — Google review
Amenities are spot on really lovely clean and well maintained. Unfortunately it's probably the loudest campsite we've ever stayed on. I wouldn't recommend if you have little ones that go to bed at a reasonable time, lots of loud music on speakers and kids screaming.
Sarah P — Google review
Stayed in the camper van for 1 night whilst visiting the Beamish museum ( 5 mins drive) Pitches weren't too bad - Rather small / crammed in / based on a hill. Toilet / shower facilities - great On site pub - great

Joseph-Herron's Bakery at Beamish Museum is a must-visit for its freshly baked goods at reasonable prices. While the wait times can be unpredictable, the quality of their products makes it worth the visit. Whether you're in for a quick stop or have time to spare, this bakery is sure to satisfy your cravings with its delicious offerings.
Great selection of cakes, the gingerbread was somewhere between a flapjack texture and a biscuit, was delicious, and not nearly as expensive as expected

Looks an OK shop but huge queue of fed up looking customers and a large gaggle of kids put me off. I just took a couple of pix and left, as being on a coach trip, I had limited time to try and see lots of Beamish. Does have lovely light fitting and a splendid stained glass window.
Ambrose's R — Google review
Queued for well over half an hour to be told they just ran out of sausage rolls and cheese and onion slices (the only two savoury options). Was told it would be another 5-10 mins for the sausage rolls but that we couldn't pay for them and wait to collect them and that we had to rejoin the queue. Shame that for a bakery with decent sweet treats that the staff are so bitter.
Neha — Google review
The cakes were delicious and there was a lot of choices. Also service was very quick and friendly. I tried the raspberry cake and my husband the tea loaf. Everything was delicious.
Melanie M — Google review
Long queue caused by lack of staff. Once we got to the front of the queue the staff got my order wrong and there was nowhere obvious to obtain a drink. My companions that tried the cake commented that it was dry. I thought the pie was alright but not very warm.

I love coming here every time I come to Beamish. Freshly baked bakery goods for decent prices. Hit or miss wether it's going to be a long wait or not. Sometimes it is, sometimes you can get straight in.

It's wares are from ye olde times, baked delights including scones, bread, cakes and tarts. The kind of high sugar stodge that would fill a belly with heartburn and calories after 14 hour shift down 't pit. Lard, sugar, eggs and flour crafted into various morsels that one really ought to try.

The Sun Inn

4.6
(237)
Pub
"The Sun Inn" is a charming Edwardian pub that originally stood in Bishop Auckland and was reconstructed in the 1980s. The authentic period decor, complete with stuffed birds and a cozy fire, creates an atmosphere that transports visitors back to the early 1900s. The serving staff don Edwardian costumes, adding to the nostalgic ambiance. This proper pub offers traditional beers, cider, and hot drinks for visitors to enjoy while taking a break from exploring Beamish.
It really did feel like stepping back into the Edwardian era when I entered this little pub with its authentic period decor, stuffed birds and a cosy fire in the back room. Except, of course, I would not have been allowed in here in the early 1900's! The pub originally stood in Bishop Auckland, but was dismantled and rebuilt here in the 1980's. They serve traditional beers and cider here, and you can get hot drinks here too. Ordered half a pint of lager with a pickled egg and a packet of pork scratchings. Would have tried one of their pork pies, but they were only serving them at weekends. No matter! The lager was good, and both the costumed bar staff and the atmosphere were friendly and welcoming. Worth popping in here when you're in Beamish's 1900s town!
Valerie H — Google review
A nice place to stop and take a breather from the museum over a pint. Nicely styled to match the historic setting of the rest of the street. There was only a small selection of drinks, but they were all under the museum's brand which was a nice touch. We were in at about 2pm on a Saturday during the school holidays and it was surprisingly quiet. It would be nice if there were some period-appropriate live music.
Phoebe — Google review
They've definately created the atmosphere of olde inside; eerily quiet and everyone staring at you when you go in as if it's not your local. I had a pint of locally brewed lager which was on draft when I popped in one Tuesday. Very nice indeed.
Andrew P — Google review
This fantastic Edwardian pub originally stood in Bishop Auckland. It's like you've stepped back to 1900. The serving staff are dressed in Edwardian costume. It is a proper pub serving cask conditioned hand-pulled real ale. It's a nice place to sit. Have a drink and take a break as it's very tiring walking round beamish.
Andrew N — Google review
Fabulous 1900s boozer, complete with sawdust on the floor, taxidermy displays, original decorations and furniture. Nice range of traditional beers, with Bitter, Stout, Blonde and cider all on hand pumps. shame they're only served in plastic disposable glasses. Real glass would have added to the experience.
Tracey F — Google review
A great addition to Beamish to have a pint in the pub. You really do get nostalgic about what kind of people would have drank there .
Sarah D — Google review
Good little pub situated inside the 1900s town of Beamish Open Air Museum. Sadly they didn't sell food the day we were in (not sure if they do) but it was cool to grab a pint and enjoy the trip back in time. From the old mirrors, to the sawdust around the bar (which would have been used for spitting) and the match striker on the side of the bar. It's a beautiful little pub. Hard to get a seat when it's busy but you can side on the bench out side too

Indulge your taste buds with delicious treats from Herrons Bakery or browse market stalls for unique Beamish-inspired gifts.
Superb visit. Grand day out for all the family with lots to see and explore. You can go into most of the buildings in the 1900's town, including upstairs in some of them. You can see the homes, businesses and shops and all the period furniture of that time and the merchandise that they sold. Fascinating.

A brilliant place to visit. There is so much to see. There are places to get food & drinks but in the summer a picnic would be great. To ensure you make the most of the place, I'd recommend a 2 day visit All the staff wore costumes befitting to each era & were very knowledgeable & friendly.

Museum
Rowley Station at Beamish Museum is a charming and well-preserved railway station from the early 1900s. Visitors can experience the nostalgia of train travel as they explore the station, complete with vintage signage and authentic details. The friendly staff in period costume add to the immersive experience, providing insights into the history of rail travel. All part n parcel of the wonderful little package that constitutes a day out at Beamish, the living museum of the North. Worth a little jaunt over the railway bridge to espy the lay of the land.

Italian restaurant
Il Cancello is a delightful Italian restaurant that truly captures the essence of authentic cuisine. Diners rave about the superb offerings, from delectable pasta and pizza to hearty Sunday lunches, all crafted to perfection by a talented chef. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a favorite spot for families and couples alike. Each visit promises attentive service without feeling rushed, allowing guests to savor their meals at leisure.
What a find this was. We came to the local area for a couple of nights and after a bit of tripadvising we decided on this Italian. We never booked as it was a last minute decision but it was not a problem. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress and were shown to a table straight away. The waitresses and the gentlemen (believe he was the manager/owner) who served us were very efficient and extremely friendly. Food was fantastic, really tasty and great portion sizes. It was nice to come somewhere where we felt we were getting our moneys worth! Strongly recommend the pizzas and the garlic bread! If we come back to the area we will mostly likely be returning. Thank you!

Went for a family meal for my mam’s birthday. Service was fantastic from Laura and other staff. I know Paul from years ago and was great to see him and the restaurant again. Paul played a birthday song for my mam and put a sparkler in the ice cream which was very much appreciated. The food was fantastic. All of us enjoyed it including my two nephews. Brilliant night. Thank you

This probably the best pizza I have had in the UK; not joking. Good quality ingredients and not using cheap ingredients was definitely noted. Thin crust and delicious. The starters and deserts were also absolutely fantastic. The wait staff were friendly and prompt which made the experience pleasant, and the host, Ian was in control and made sure everyone was happy. Cannot fault it. Best Italians in Durham.

We had an amazing experience – without a doubt the best Italian we’ve ever been to. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was just as impressive – warm, welcoming, and full of charm. Every little detail made the experience 10/10, and the staff were really friendly and attentive. We honestly can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates proper Italian food done right!

We had a really nice meal, four of us visited (one veggie) and everyone had a lovely bit of food. I had the chicken and potato which was lush, the prawns to start (very nice) and a side of chips. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the drinks are nice to. Cannot fault it really. Large car park across the road (free).

Black Horse Beamish is a stunning hotel with picturesque surroundings, vintage tractors, and a lovely wedding marquee. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished with custom-made furniture, featuring a huge copper tub in the center of the bathroom. Guests rave about the phenomenal breakfast included. The venue is perfect for weddings, offering excellent service and smooth event coordination. The staff are friendly and accommodating, ensuring that every detail is taken care of for a memorable experience.
We hosted our wedding at The Black Horse Beamish last week, and from start to finish, Georgiana and the entire team were nothing short of outstanding. With many years of experience in hospitality and customer service, I often notice the little things that are missed in restaurants and hotels — but here, there was not a single detail overlooked. In fact, what impressed me most was seeing the team anticipate and resolve things before they even became issues. Their diligence and attention to detail were truly impeccable. The kitchen was, quite simply, perfection. Although we dine here regularly as a family, I was still blown away by the wedding breakfast. Every guest commented on the quality, flavour, and flawless timing of the service. It was outstanding in every way. In the evening, our bar was run by someone who was more than just a bartender — they entertained our guests and added to the atmosphere beautifully - Thank you Dan. I normally like to balance reviews with both positives and suggestions for improvement, but in this case, there is nothing I would change. The Black Horse Beamish delivered beyond our expectations, and we could not have asked for more. If you are looking for a venue that combines excellence, warmth, and professionalism in equal measure, this is it.

Visited yesterday for Sunday Lunch and was left very disappointed. We've been here loads of times before and the food and service is always great, however this time was very different. When we arrived they had sat someone else in the table we booked in the restaurant area (we arrived 10 minutes early so it wasn't due to our lateness) so we had to wait while they made us another table up in the orangery which was so hot. We then waited 30 minutes before anyone came over to take our drinks order, I then had to go to the bar to ask where the drinks were and they hadn't even started making them. (This is no fault of the girl who took our drinks order, she was working tirelessly, doing multiple jobs). 15 minutes after that our food arrived, however they got my sons order wrong, bearing in mind, he's a 3 year old and had already been waiting 45 minutes for food, he then had to wait longer while they corrected the order which they again got wrong, at this point I was sick. I had the 3 meat Sunday lunch, and normally this is outstanding but the beef was dry and so were the roast potatoes. Again, no one came over to ask if the food was okay or if we needed any more drinks, it was very very poor, upon paying I told the gentleman all of this and he kindly reduced our bill and informed us that 3 staff hadn't turned up that day. While talking to him, I did notice to of the other female staff standing at the bar not doing very much, which really is not fair on the other who were working hard. I really like this place and we will go back, but yesterday was such a shame, we had recommended this place to our parents who we brought with us, but we feel really let down by the experience. Even if the staff had of managed our expectations on arrival and just said they were short staffed so service might have been a bit slower that would have made a difference. Anyway, I put this down to an off day but it really makes a difference letting your customers know what to expect on the day. Thank you for the gesture of the reduced bill, not many places are willing to do that these days so it is appreciated.

Booked a table, arrived 10 minutes early and was told there was a 30 minute wait for food, no problem. Tried to order starters and were told the only way we could have starters was if we agreed to have them be served at the same time as mains, no problem we just ordered mains. Mains arrived 90 minutes later, chips cold. Clearly over booked themselves and couldn't manage. Stunning setting with beautiful views over the Durham countryside.

Stopped here for one night as we were visiting Beamish Museum. It is less than a 10 minute drive to the museum along a narrow winding road. The room we stayed in was very clean and spacious. Just outside the room is a double seat over looking a lavender field. All the staff were really attentive and friendly. We had a meal in the restaurant on the night and a breakfast the next morning and the food was beautiful. There was a bit of a wait for the food on the night ,but with it being cooked freshly, it is not surprising. The only downsides were in the room. We were not keen on the curtains dividing the room to the bathroom area. The noise from the toilet cistern is very loud . So if you need the toilet during the night, you will wake up your partner. Saying that, we would totally recommend the Black Horse Beamish.

First time coming to the Black Horse and we loved it. The views were amazing. We hadn’t booked and staff explained that it would be bar service with us not booking which we felt they were still on the ball with us. Will be back.

Had a wonderful meal at the restaurant. The sticky toffee pudding is the best I've ever had. The staff were so friendly, the location views picture perfect. Ill definitely be coming back to try their Sunday lunch.

Nice place with stunning views. Food was adequate, we waited an hour and was constantly told the food was on its way. Had decided on this pub, after an offer was published on Facebook offering kids meals for £5. When paying was told this was Monday to Friday and didn't include weekends. Wouldn't rush back as staff and experience not the greatest.

Party of 6 for breakfast this morning. Told only fried eggs available. They were very over cooked. Full English not the best l have had overcooked egg missing mushroom burnt hash brown and sausage was only cooked on one side. This place came up in a search for best in area but l would not personally say that was a good breakfast and the portions are small. Aldo charged for a full breakfast for a child who only had bacon toast and an egg which is a bit much really. Bacon sandwich was good ordered pit of tea and coffee that did not come and they also didn’t have any orange. Very poor experience £86 plus so not great value either. Definitely would not return. Real shame as place is such a lovely setting with so much potential but service and food a huge let down.
