Teesside Shopping, located along the highway, offers a variety of high street fashion and lifestyle stores, as well as supermarkets and restaurants. The recent upgrades to the car park and road system have improved accessibility. The shopping center features popular stores like H&M, Next, and Clarks. It's a bustling place with plenty of cafes and seating areas. The environment is designed to be attractive and interactive for kids.
Parking can be a bit slow but there's just about everything I need for my daughter and granddaughter and coffee! Parking is free too
Miquel M — Google review
There is a lot of choice here. Plus, there is building work going on, so more to come. The Asda Living was vast, and we also looked around a huge Primark. Costa Coffee seating was very comfy, and the new outside landscaping and paving is very fresh. The one-way system to get to a parking space is awful with cars backing up and a wait to get parked. The shops are good. The access and parking is not the best.
Kev B — Google review
Over all it is a good place to shop. Not keep on the small parking spaces. The parking time limits and the getting in and out. FYI Make sure you park inside the lines as people have told me they have been fined.
Sascha B — Google review
Got parking fine of £100. Why do you need a company to come in and make money off people going shopping. Car park is free don’t get it. Got fined for parking over a line in last parent child spot. Only did this to allow more room to get out. Car parked next to me still had more room than usual. Complete joke.
Richard K — Google review
As usual the parking can be a problem as can the bottle neck to get out. Due to everything being around the outside, rather than a nice centre in the middle, this is difficult to go to more than one or two shops because of my poor mobility. Very difficult to get a disabled car parking spot as very few and usually filled with someone without a badge!
Andrea W — Google review
The roads in and out are now the worst they have ever been, horrible traffic management. But there was parking space, with signs saying how many free spaces. The pavement areas in front of the shops are now smaller than ever, due to the shop fronts pretty much all having been moved forwards. I won't go here if I didn't need to, I fully understand why people so online
Craig R — Google review
Parking is a nightmare! Not worth it, go shop somewhere else! No Parent & Child spaces and straying a cm onto a white line (to get a child out of a car seat safely) will result in a £100 fine.
Hfg4880 — Google review
Good selection of shops. However the access to the facility is a joke. Traffic nightmare at peak times. Moving around the carpark is hectic

Nature & Parks
Ropner Park, located in Stockton-on-Tees, is a picturesque public park that offers a variety of activities for visitors. Opened in 1893 and named after Major Robert Ropner, the park features scenic pathways, a serene lake with wildlife viewing opportunities, and a central fountain. It's an ideal spot for leisurely walks or picnics on the lush green lawns.
Really nice park and the new play area is great. Cafe was nice as well. With drinks, food and desserts. Outdoor and indoor seating
Jonathan D — Google review
This park is truly fantastic for families, especially with its playground that seems to be designed with kids of all ages in mind! The equipment is engaging, safe, and offers plenty of options for toddlers, older kids, and everyone in between. My little 2-year-old had an absolute blast exploring, and I love that it encourages active play and socializing across age groups. However, as much as I appreciate the inclusive design, I do wish there was a bit more structure in terms of age-appropriate areas. My toddler was almost bowled over by a teenager zipping through on a bike. While I understand the challenges of enforcing strict age zones, it would be great to see some kind of system to keep everyone safe. Perhaps better signage, separate play areas, or even occasional monitoring could help keep the space enjoyable for all ages. Still, overall, it's an amazing place for kids to play and make memories!
Brandon C — Google review
Ropner Park is reminds me of a Victorian Park where everything is beautiful. It is so well maintained. The pond itself is so beautiful. It has various varieties of ducks, moorhens or coots, swans and Canadian geese. Last time I visited there was damselflies and dragonflies. I spoke to a gentleman who said a new species of dragonfly was also using the lake. There is a brand new children's playground. Been open a couple of months after being refurbished. There is an onsite cafe. Food is lovely and reasonably priced. There is both in and outside seating. Park has a bowling green. Dogs are welcome. There is a band stand and a fountain. If you are lucky enough there are squirrels as well as green parrots x
Suzie S — Google review
During your walk you can enjoy watching lots of flower beds and green grounds. It has a beautiful lake with swans and ducks swimming in it. You can sit on benches or have a walk around this lake. There's a play area for kids with slides and swings. Kids would certainly love it. It is open to the public park and there are no tickets. For details I am adding pictures.
Laeeq A — Google review
Definitely my favourite park to visit with my little one, we live out of town and still make the effort to come here whenever we can! The play park has a lot to offer, the cafe next to it also has beautiful, fresh food and the staff are always friendly and helpful with smiles on their faces. It's such a brilliant park for a 'walk round' too.
Rachel F — Google review
A nice public park for all families friendly, a great place to walk your dog,a hut for coffee teas and meals, and ice cream,a nice place for kids a big playground area also a tennis court and bowling.to buy seeds to feed mostly ducks, swans, they have a generous size duck pond, plenty of walking paths and many benches to rest ,also a bandstand a fountain lovely flowered areas plenty of entrances I think only parking outside of gates, more than enough space on grass for games and picnics or just to relax.all the people the public what I have seen are very friendly courteous and respectful in the park,I know you will enjoy the occasion my review 5 stars.
David W — Google review
It's Stockton's jewel in the crown. A lovely park with plenty to see. Cafe, ice creams, children's playground, live music on Sunday afternoons through the summer on the bandstand, lake, swans, ducks and geese, bowling green, ornamental flower beds, grade 2 listed fountain. And lots of fetes fairs and festivals through the year.
Louise B — Google review
It's a nice enough park. Good for having a stroll around. There's a large pond at the bottom with plenty of wildfire there including parakeets. There's a café that sells a variety of food, hot beverages, cold drinks, and ice creams. There's also one nearby the park on the corner. There are bus routes and bus stops nearby that are a short walk away. There's no car park at the park, just street parking. The opening times of the park vary with the seasons too, like most other parks.

Shopping
The Cleveland Shopping Centre is a large indoor mall located between Albert Road and Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough. It offers over 60 stores, including brand-name apparel shops, a post office, a pharmacy, and dining options. The center is conveniently situated for parking and provides easy access to the hotel from the car park. Visitors can enter the shopping center directly by lift or stairs and enjoy a clean environment with security guards on patrol at all times.
Good car park and good access to hotel where we was staying, few Greg’s and shops there but unfortunately they had closed most of them, still like to walk around there
Karolina B — Google review
Good shopping centre just needs the footfall to get the town alive again. Local needs locals and visitors to get Middlesbrough back to a town centre that was once full of people.
Stuart M — Google review
Boarded up stores. Most of the major stores have closed down. The Mall areas have so few people around. I am surprised the extended costa even survives, especially at their prices. Poor signage to Albert Rd exit. The car park charges are reasonable for less than 2 hours, and again poorly signposted & the car park is like a building site. Overall the cleveland centre is not welcoming or inviting & seems to have lost it's soul. I fear for the inhabitants, retailers & the workers of Middlesbrough
Wendy F — Google review
The only shop I go to is the HMV. Beware of beggars asking for money. One skinny young woman asked me for 90p, which seems strange, why not a pound. Needless to say, I felt sorry for her, that she looked as if she needed a good meal.

I used this car park this morning. Paid £3 for parking until 6pm which I thought was incredible. On my way out, seen a poster advertising this special offer and thought not surprised, it’s an empty car park. Half an hour later 3 attempts were made for me to authorise payments of £136 on my banking app. This has never happened to me before. One payment was going to JDsports. Definitely wasn’t me as I was in the middle of an appointment at an aesthetics clinic. Please be vigilant, I have a feeling the pay machine is cloned. Tried calling the car park on several occasions to alert them but to no availability. Makes me wonder why no one uses the car park

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hill Street Shopping Centre is a brilliant place for a day out. There’s a great mix of shops including Greggs, Pandora, Primark, New Look and plenty more to browse through. It’s perfect whether you’re looking for family shopping, updating your wardrobe, or just grabbing a bite to eat while you’re there. The atmosphere is welcoming, and everything you need is in one convenient spot. A really enjoyable shopping experience! Highly recommended by Nina and Lettie.

Highly recommended for clothes and shoes shopping. It's just next to the Middlesbrough central bus station. Has got its own car park also. There are a number of cafes and restaurants inside the mall to keep you energized throughout the day. There are some events held by various shops and brands to promote their products. Such events are a boon for the public to gain offers and discounts. Kids often get free goodies at such events so should be kept an eye on. Everything well looked after such as clean floors and toilets. Must visit once if you happen to be in Middlesbrough.

Great experience shopping at Primark. It's quite cheaper compared to other popular online market places that are being touted as cheap. People should rather visit the stores in their neighbourhood, really.

The Riverside Stadium, located in Middlesbrough, England, is a modern 34,000-capacity stadium and the home ground of Middlesborough Football Club. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the stadium and take in scenic views of the River Tees and the town center. The family-friendly venue features a children's play area and offers cultural experiences with nearby attractions such as the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art and historic buildings.
Visited 3 Aug 2024 for Boros friendly against Herenveen. Cheap safe parking was available at the ground for £7. Can be paid cash or prepaid online. Entry to ground is via the turnstile via NFC technology on your phone or barcode on your ticket. Easy once you get the hang of it, although faffy if you have more than one ticket on your phone! Concession prices are not too bad. £13 for 2 bottles of 7up, 1 bottle of coke, a bottle of water, and a packet of crisps. Didn't have the hit food, but they smelt tasty! All staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the loos. Although they were clean, there was a lingering odor!! Not good for those with hidden disabilities or sensory issues. There were disabled toilets where a Radar key was needed. These were available from one of the kiosks, however the kiosks were closed at the end of the match so you would need to search for a member of staff for a key if you needed the disabled loo. It's not an issue of you have your own radar key! On the whole 5 stars.
Karen C — Google review
Had a great experience here (despite the result). The disability stewards were brilliant, as we're the police on duty. Met some amazing people and hope to return next season. Nice stadium and a few large accessible toilets. Thank you Middlesbrough fc

Great day out (even though we lost). Stopped off at a nice bar on the way through and easy to park within walking distance of the stadium. Stadium itself had all " modern" amenities and friendly staff to be fair.

Went to watch the mighty boro v Burnley late. On December 29th , late last year well the game itself was not the greatest as a nil nil score was the outcome, but overall I enjoyed the experience, especially the dj set and lights before the game, which was very good. I believe it was Djs Beat Boutique . I sat in the west stand lower, and the view was great. I would definitely recommend you visit if you get a chance. I did not purchase any food or beverages non - or alcoholic as I was driving, so I can't comment on that. Sorry.
Graeme V — Google review
Decent ground, car park nearby which was free after 6 so ideal for us visiting on a Tuesday night. Plenty of room in seats, decent view even from the corner we were in. The gates outside the main stand, which I presume are from the old ground, are a nice touch. Got served quickly and efficiently in the ground. Lots of food options although just generic football food. Tried the Parmo in a bun, which was more a chicken burger with cheese, but tasted ok. Smashed them 4-0 so can't really complain 😆

Visited for Whitby's North Riding Cup final yesterday (13.05.24) and was hugely impressed. Really easily accessed (I'd travelled from South Yorkshire), I found stewarding and ticketing staff very friendly and helpful. View of the pitch was really good too.
Alexander B — Google review
Decent ground, within walking distance of the town centre. Felt safe even when surrounded by home fans. Inside the ground the access to food and drink was straightforward and the staff were friendly. Away fans view within the ground was great and the atmosphere was made better by the fact we were next to the most vocal home fans behind the goal. After the game home and away fans dispersed without any trouble. Overall a great day out with my boy, apart from the result :(
Glen C — Google review
The Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough stands less as a sports ground and more as a piece of living sculpture, steel and glass shaped into a cathedral of football on the banks of the Tees. Its form is not ornate or baroque; instead, it embraces a clean, industrial modernism, an ode to the town’s iron and steel heritage. The structure rises with a quiet authority, its sweeping roofline evoking both the curve of a ship’s hull and the long arc of progress the region has strived for. The stadium’s symmetry is deliberate: a repetition of rhythm across the stands, as if the architect had painted with geometry. The bold red seats inside glow like pigment on a canvas, a sea of colour waiting for human presence to animate it. On matchdays, that emptiness is transformed into a living mural, shouts, songs, and banners becoming brushstrokes across the gallery of terraces. Its riverside placement is no accident; the stadium seems in dialogue with its environment. The Tees, once a channel for the steel that built the world, reflects the stadium’s angles and gives it a mirror twin. The effect is both grounding and transcendent, the building becoming not just an arena but a monument to place, industry, and identity. Viewed as a work of art, the Riverside is not delicate, nor does it whisper. It is bold, muscular, and unapologetically northern. It celebrates function as beauty, community as ornament, and pride as its medium.

I had a great dinner at this steakhouse! The meats were all spot on—especially the lamb, which is my absolute favourite. The drinks were top-notch, and the warm welcome made it even better. I appreciated the relaxed atmosphere. Overall, a solid dining experience that I'll definitely be back for!

I recently had my first visit and it was absolutely top-notch! The meat was cooked to perfection, and every dish I tried, from the lamb to the chicken thighs, was bursting with flavour. The staff were so welcoming and really made an effort to enhance the experience. The atmosphere was lively, and the salad bar was another great touch. I can't wait to come back and enjoy another fantastic meal!

I was genuinely surprised at how good everything was! The salad bar had so much variety, way beyond your basic greens, and the meats were just perfect—tender, tasty, and cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and kind, making the whole experience enjoyable. I would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

I have been to this restaurant over 7-8 times and have always loved it. Unfortunately last night with my friends was not one of those visits. My friend made the booking over the phone , received confirmation we arrived on time and were enjoying our food when a member of staff came over to ask “ which name the booking was in “. This was an hour into us sitting down in the middle of our food. We then had lots of glances over our table and another 15 minutes later the lady came back and picked up a friend’s plate away while everyone else was still eating and asked us “ have you tried everything , is there anything else you want etc etc “ which made us feel rushed. The servers always ask for special requests etc but no one has ever spoke to us in a way that came across “ if you have have tried everything then wrap it up “ . Another 5 minutes later the same lady came with the bill and told we had to leave as they needed the table . We were shocked , we were only just finishing our mains and hadn’t yet ordered dessert or another drink. When we questioned why we were asked to leave as no one told us we had 1.5 hour to leave the lady ( who then told us she was the manager named Natalie ) said it was in the booking confirmation and website and we should have looked , it was restaurant week and in a way said it is what it is , in a very smug way which left everyone feeling uncomfortable. I checked the message and the website , it does not state we have 1.5 hour before we need to leave the table. We were given many backhanded comment, a very condescending smile and smug way of talking. We were then told by the manager as she took the bill from in front of my friend “ I will remove the service charge” again with a rude manner. If the table was booked after us we should have been told when we sat down as an FYI so we could have planned our meal more timely. The fact that the table was needed wasn’t the problem but the way it was handled was a big issue. We always really enjoy coming to Rio’s , the servers are always very friendly. This was a truly bad experience and hope it’s a one off.
Yasemin D — Google review
Was a beautiful experience! Salad bar had loads of options and it’s buffet style so it’s a great place for salad lovers. The endless serving of steak was great. Drinks were absolutely fantastic too. Would certainly be coming back!
Nayiba E — Google review
This is great for gluten free eaters. All the meat is safe, and the salad bar is all you can eat and properly labelled with all allergens and sensitivities. The servers are friendly and informative and the meat was done to perfection. They even had meat you'd rarely see in a normal restaurant which was interesting. The desserts were fab though I think the sorbet is the only gluten free on offer, but that's fine I had no room left. You are going to spend a lot for this meal but no one rushes you to leave so you can eat until you burst. We're definitely going again Edit: went back again at end of May and can say it was just as good, with this time getting to try rare fillet steak (which was small but absolutely mouth watering). Did have an issue with a server and voiced my upset to another, and they handled it discretely and with understanding. Gotta say the servers here do seem a cut above the rest.

What a lovely spot for a cup of tea or two. Caffè Nero is located directly across from Next in the heart of Middlesbrough's cleveland centre, bustling shopping district. The cafè serves what you'd expect from a neighborhood hangout: lattes, frappes, cakes, and sweets. I got my regular Cappuccino.

My favourite local cafe. The coffee is amazing, staff is kind and welcoming. I’m lactose intolerant so I struggle to find many food options in Mbro, but this place has delicious raspberry croissants. They always have at least one vegan cake as well, I specifically recommend the Mango & Passion fruit cheesecake. For a savory snack, the vegan sausage roll is great, filled with nicely flavoured vegetables.

Caffè Nero – Honest Feedback from a Loyal Customer (Middlesbrough Branch) I don’t usually leave negative reviews — I genuinely prefer to highlight the positive. But after multiple disappointing experiences, I feel it’s time to speak up. I’ve been a loyal customer of Caffè Nero, and it’s the only café I choose to visit. Unfortunately, this recent visit was the final straw. There is one European (not English) female staff member who consistently delivers excellent service — she’s professional, efficient, and clearly takes pride in her work. She’s the only reason I’ve held on this long. The rest of the staff, however, seem uninterested and dismissive. Any request beyond the usual is either ignored or treated as an inconvenience. It’s disheartening to be met with such indifference time and time again. This particular branch in Middlesbrough is, unfortunately, the closest location to me — I don’t have the convenience of going to another branch. That makes this all the more frustrating. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously, reviews it with transparency, and makes the necessary changes. Loyal customers deserve better.

There’s always a great selection of dairy free options, and always new flavours to try. The staff are always lovely and helpful, especially the new trainees recently! I always stop in when I’m around town, as it’s taken over as my favourite coffee chain.

I usually really like this place but there's the most strange, intolerable damp/mouldy(?idk???) smell lately. It's so horrible it wont leave my brain even though I'm home now. Please look into it because this is one of my favourite cafes and I usually love sitting here!! Also their hot matcha is revolting, way too bitter probably due to heat. The iced matcha is perfect though. The staff is also really friendly.

What a place to settle down with a cuppa or two. Caffè Nero is situated just opposite Next right in the middle of Middlesbrough’s bustling shopping area. The cafè offers what you’d expect from your local- the regular assortment of lattes, frappes, cakes and treats. This one has an outdoor and indoor seating areas, the latter having a nice set of leather chairs to sit on. I really like the decor here which feels modern and stylish. On my visit the staff who served us drinks offered quick service and were friendly and welcoming. Café Nero opens most days from 7:30am to 6:00pm with the exception of Sunday where it pulls a Dolly Parton and works 9 ‘till 5. Go ahead and give them a go- I recommend the raspberry and white chocolate frappe and the vanilla latte (although I’d bring sweetner as its richer, less sweet coffee compared to other brands).

Costa Coffee is a delightful counter-service coffee chain that has become a go-to spot for those seeking hot beverages, refreshing iced coolers, and an array of sweet snacks and sandwiches. Nestled in town centers like Teesside Park, it offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for casual meetings or quick breaks. While the staff are generally friendly, they can appear rushed during peak hours, which may affect table cleanliness. However, many locations provide ample parking nearby for convenience.
Bethany, Anya & Olivia were chatty and helpful, kept us entertained, making us laugh, while preparing our drinks. We’re regulars at the central Teesside Park Costa, opposite Primark because of the friendly baristas. Thank you all.

It's had a makeover which is great & FINALLY they have had toilets put in! I avoided it before as I needed access to a toilet. It's very spacious & there are also highchairs if required.

it's really disappointed that one of the leading Cafe in UK have Zero Hygiene, I just visited today Costa Teesside park ( not the one with Next) and while I was having coffee I saw this and straight away left my food and coffee as you can see clearly the fungus dirty sandwich cover, staff was very friendly but they need to improve Hygiene. Please take my review in positive way thank you

First time in Teesside Park's Costa for a meeting to plan out some film production bits and I have to say it was a pretty decent experience. As you would expect from any Costa, the menu is straightforward and the service was efficient. This outlet was clean and the staff were friendly to talk to during the "lull" time. It wan't long before the place filled up due to its catchment area on the retail park. I'd definitely go again should there be a cause for a meeting in that area of Teesside.

Nestled in the heart of Norton, Café Lilli is a charming bistro that beautifully marries British and European culinary traditions. With its intimate atmosphere, this café not only serves up elevated comfort food but also hosts live music twice a week, enhancing your dining experience. The menu changes daily, ensuring fresh and exciting options like minute steak, curries, and risottos that are crafted with care.
Thank you for a lovely dinner night with my dad! Good atmosphere, lovely friendly service. My coconut Thai curry was delicious, said on the menu it came with basmati rice and it came with noodles, but I didn't mind too much. Could do with some sound muffling like curtains, rugs or soft furnishings as it got fairly loud, conversations were buzzing and lively. Would come again, servers had a warm manner :)

I forgot that service this attentive existed! I visted with my partner and his parents for a 3 course dinner one busy Saturday evening, earlier this August (2025) & we had a lovely experience. The atmosphere was cosy/pleasant & the food was delicious. What I appreciated the most though, was the service - every small detail was considered, which added up to make a seamless and relaxing evening for us. Despite the restaraunt being very busy, our every need was consistently anticipated throughout, without us ever needing to ask for a thing. E.g. being greeted & seated swiftly; every member of staff we encountered was very pleasant & attentive; a jug of lemon water for the table was provided at the start & this was maitained throughout the night (in addition to other, delicious drinks being served ofc); cutlery was set up promptly in advance of the main course after the starters had been cleared; ample fingerbowls/side plates & hand wipes were provided for the seafood dishes; an ipad with a picture of the specials menu was provided so that myself and my mother-in-law didn't need to twist around to view the board behind us; the meal was well-paced and the staff checked in to see how everything was with our food as well as remembering small requests about the orders. I got the impression a lot of love and care had gone into the business/the menu. I also really appreciated that the owner also discreetly checked in to ask me if I was managing ok/offered me help with my king prawns. As a bit of a novice sea food eater (with Dyspraxia), I sometimes find it a little intimidating to order seafood in restaraunts due to there being a process/etiquette around extracting the meat, which I'm not overly confident with. However, the help offered was very kind, I was provided with extra hand wipes in addition the finger bowl & he talked me through the dish and why the prawns are served with the shell on (for flavour & texture), this was done in a calming/non-patronising way, which made me feel glad that I'd chosen to try something a little out of my comfort zone & I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It may sound like small things but I was struck by how consistently attentive the service was. It felt there was a lot of heart at Cafe Lilli, which made for a wonderful atmosphere, providing us with a seamless and special evening.

For a pricier restaurant (£60) for 2 people, the food did in fact live up to the hype and the atmosphere has its own unique charm to it. The menu changes everyday but rotates around a certain few dishes (always have burgers and pasta menus etc) which can help make every trip slightly different. Service was nice and polite however it is somewhat slow and also reading the menus is always a significant challenge as they only put it on a notice board at the back and the keep the pasta menu separate and on its own sign which can be turned against you making it unreadable. TLDR, if you can somehow read what you want to order... Good food 7/10

Nestled in the middle of Norton, this gem is one of my favourite places to go to. The food is delicious and fresh every time. The staff are always friendly and they always remember that I have a nut allergy every time I go there. Would thoroughly recommend everyone to try it out.

Our first time in Norton Village, we called in at Cafe Lilli. Our waitress was very pleasant and had a lovely smiling demeanour. Decour - ok but nothing special. Cappuccino - £4:50 for an extremely small cup which represented very poor value. Dessert - £9 for a Bailey's desert which wasn't nice to eat but was nicely presented, therefore style over taste. Conclusion - not awful but nothing special and in my opinion over priced.

First visit with friends. The food is very very good. Lots of choices all noted on the Specials board, they also have a Vegan menu. We ordered the Coley, SeaBass & Pork Loin all came with seasonal veg. (Sorry no photos) followed by desserts . The staff & owner are very attentive. Would highly recommend a visit to this lovely restaurant. Cost included our drinks.

Specialty Museums
Preston Park Museum & Grounds, located in the picturesque Preston Park, is a social history museum housed in a Georgian mansion. The museum showcases an extensive collection of artifacts that narrate the story of Stockton's past. Visitors can explore the lives of the families who once resided in the mansion and their influence on Stockton's history. Additionally, they can engage with volunteers in a recreated Victorian street and learn about the area's connection to the River Tees.
It's a nice place to walk around on a warm day, quite a bit of construction going on at the minute to extend the museum, though. The woods are beautiful and peaceful and good for exercising whether you're just out to walk the dog or go for a run. Also has toilets and a completely free car park, although it was pretty packed especially considering the kids are at school.

What a lovely day out! Great price, pay once and can return for a full year! There are some great exhibitions on lots to see! The mock street was so fascinating. Lovely grounds to walk around and have a picnic too! Highly recommend.

New playground area is lovely, good for all ages. The cafe is now renovated with modern toilets as always a bonus. Butterfly world is always a hot, they live the meercats and other creatures inside. The museum is very affordable to get into, an annual family pass is worth it. Kids love the old street and especially the sweet shop. There is a river walking distance that they can go and feed the ducks. The skate park also excellent for all ages, scooters and bikes.

My children had a great time playing for hours at the park here. There is so many different things to play on and its been done up since my last visit which i didn’t think could be improved and it was so over the moon. Lovely cafe here reasonably priced food and drink and nice clean toilets to use. They also have a big skate park here where it can be used for skates, skate boards, bikes and scooters. Absolutely brilliant fun for most ages, probably 5+. Lots of places to eat a picnic on the grass or tables and lots of walks to do here. Right by the water gives you lively views to enjoy also. The Museum is great place and the children will enjoy that too walking down a victorian street. Parking is free, which can only be a bonus as there are not many places that do that anymore. So come to Preston Park!!!

A great day out or just for a walk. Preston park has it all. A beautiful museum that is great for all age groups, and lovely cafes that serve fresh food. You can walk for miles around the grounds and by the river tees. It’s even got Butterfly world for the younger ones. The kids play areas is currently under construction and getting a fresh new look, but looks like it’ll be completed soon. Plenty of parking available. Parking is free and has charging points for the electric vehicles. The park is a regular visit for me and my dog Rosie.

The hothouse is home to 80-120 butterfly species, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts. Additionally, visitors can observe meerkats and explore the reptile department for an added thrill.
Butterfly World is an experience that can only be described as magical. With stunning flora and gorgeous butterflies, it's truly a sight to behold. Additionally, they also house a variety of other animals and fish. If you are in the area, please do yourself a favour and stop in. Admission is £6 per adult, and this is a must-see spot. I will likely be returning, if for nothing else, than just the relaxing atmosphere and tropical climate held by the hidden gem.

Great trip for the little ones. You probably spend about 45 mins max here, but if you get a stamp you can reenter at anytime after a visit to the nearby Preston Park. There was loads of different butterflies 🦋 one landed on my head too! There's checklists (unsure if free or not) to spot different butterflies and carp fish food (20p per bag) to feed the fish on the way round. There's also an exotic animals area with snakes and lizards (behind screens). It is is hot in here for obvious reasons but not unbearable. Would visit again when visiting the nearby park. Under 5s are free.

Very cheap for adults and kids under 5s are free. We love the place. Especially my four year old. The staff are lovely and friendly. The owner even gifted our daughter a toy butterfly. We couldn't thank them Enough. You can return as many times as you want on the smae day if you get a stamp and that allows time to visit Preston Park and the museum. It's that good all round. We visit regularly.

Had a brilliant day out at Preston park. Our granddaughter (age 6) particularly loved "Butterfly World", it was wonderful to see her little face light up when the butterflies came near her. The different colours of the butterflies are beautiful and amazing. Be warned, it is very hot in there, lol. There is also a great play park that caters for all ages. Plus the are loads of benches and seats and a huge grass area if you want to have a picnic or a rest. All in all a great day out for all the family.

We were in there for 9 minutes. It is lovely but extremely small, less butterflies from the last time I remember. I would go back but when Preston park is properly back open as the museum is closed until September and the play park and cafe are getting refurbishments.

Lovely place, with a great collection of butterflies and other reptiles. The collection of cocoons where we could see butterflies crawling out of was fun to watch. Pretty small though. We barely spent 15mins.

Another Ideal spot for taking kids , it’s 6.50 per adults. This is a green house, with butterflies, fishes, meerkat, reptiles. It’s quite warm inside, recommend not to wear jackets. Plenty of parking available, front and back side. Opposite to the Butterfly world there huge open ground and play areas . There is also cafe sells ice creams, hot drinks and sandwich’s .

SO beautiful! It was hard seeing some of the beautiful butterflies missing their wings/wings damaged but it is inevitable with all the kids running around and probably stepping on them. You can also see them hatching!

Went to watch my Nephew in the youth production of Sound of Music, venue was excellent and everyone looked as if they loved the show. The venue staff were friendly and efficient especially the two serving on the gf bar. Going to book for the wildcats of Kilkenny in December.

Great venue and highly recommended. The only issue I have is that the seat I was sat in and those around me were over restrictive on space . I've been in tighter spaces but considering the place had a refurbishment a few years ago I'd have expected a little more knee and shoulder room. For large people you may be better off not being in a circle seat to the left of the stage. Other than that the positives were that it's a very relaxed and cozy atmosphere inside the building. There is a large bar with seating in a modern setting. I'd be more than happy to visit again but I'd hope to be in different seat.

Wow, this is a fantastic venue. The effort that has been put in to the renovation is excellent and of a high standard. Loved the details of the photos of famous people who have performed there, set in the ground outside. The colour scheme gives me a nostalgic kind of 60s/70s vibe. Couldn't believe how spacious the theatre was. Plenty of toilets, comfy seats, great bar areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Went to see "The Nightsky show" which was funny, insightful, mind blowing and just something different. Overall a great experience.

Went to see Bowling for soup here. The building inside is beautiful. The security was very tougher so took a while to get in. Lots of toilets! However it was overcrowded in standing and felt over capacity and no clock room meaning everyone is wearing their big coats in the pit which isn't ideal for comfort or enjoyment.
Charlotte W — Google review
Great gig as Bowling for Soup were their usual energetic and chatty humourous selves. Entry to the venue was organised and fairly quick. On entry I was a little disappointed with the place. We could barely get onto the auditorium through the entry doors due to the way the audience had distributed themselves. After pushing our way through and down to the sides it was clear there was space around but in isolated pockets. Not sure if this was more due to the old style layout or the lack of crowd management on entry It didn't spoil the gig, but did take the gloss off a little and would make me think twice about returning. On leaving there was a huge queue into one of the bars. I asked a staff member if it was a queue for the bar or for merch (I was hoping to buy a couple of tee shirts), the lad said "both I think" by which time at least another 20 people had joined the back of the queue, which didn't seem to be moving at all so we just left.

Just seen the amazing Ocean color scene. They were fantastic, however the venue was poor. The bar was massively under staffed and slow, I dont think they knew how to operate well . The bar managers were all stood chatting leaving the young staff to be swamped. Took 45 minutes to get drinks . We had standing tickets and there was no standing room. Clearly over sold tickets and staff tried to move people away from the "walk way" but there was no space to move ! Complete fire hazard. When a young female staff member told me to get out of the walk way ( although the crowd capacity will be calculated including that space) I told her I had a damaged leg so would rather not be crushed she rudely said " we you should have a disability ticket so get out the space ". The gig was spolit due to the bar service and poor venue operations plus basic H&S regs ! Really disappointing, loved the band

Yesterday was my first visit to the Globe Theatre to see Meat Loaf by candlelight and it was amazing!!! The theatre was stunningly painted in art deco style I believe. The bars were modern, toilets clean, and it had an amazing energy about it. Stockton really needs this place to inject life back into what was a thoroughly busy high street 20 years ago. The show was fantastic and a must for anyone who liked Meat Loaf or just good music. I'll be here again and again.

After being closed for so many years and considering all the great artists who played there, it's wonderful to see it up and running again and looking like new! What a superb refurbishment for the now jewel in the crown for Stockton. It's nice to see the added Link venue too, I think that needs to be embraced and focused more towards local live bands/acts, nice intimate setting. In all, lovely venue for the region and I hope it goes from strength to strength...Big plus point, there's a huge carpark around the back and is free to leave after a night time show, so pleased about that. 👍

Pretty Woman was fantastic. Highly recommend. The Globe is great, especially the 1935 bar if you want to book in before the show starts. There's different packages to choose from, and drinks are ready on tables for the interval. Staff are always very helpful. The seating is good, and there is good wheelchair access for anyone who requires it. There is good parking close by, and easy access to taxis if needed. Always a good night out.

As I work in hospitality, I never give anywhere that I go a bad review but the service was shocking and I didnt even get passed the door. I arrived at 6pm for my booking to confused staff members. Asking with attitude what time I had made my booking as they don't have space for us. I explained that it was confirmed at 12.21 that day and the lady said 'well it's just come through and we don't have the space'. No apology, no come back later or come back another time. A lovely chef came out and suggested an upstairs area but the lady was just pulling faces and was a bit snappy. All terrible service and I didn't actually get in the building. If any of my team were to treat anyone like that I would die of embarrassment.

Came here for the first time with a partner for date night, thought we would give it a try and wish we hadn’t. I ordered the carbonara and my partner had the chicken parmo, both meals were served to us within 10 minutes of ordering which was worrying as it is. Carbonara was watery and tasteless with soggy tagliatelle and the bacon bits were pink barely looked cooked, just looked overall sad looking. Parmo wasn't great either - very bland. Decor was dated and tired looking with a doorbell ringing throughout the restaurant for the staff to collect food from the kitchen which killed the atmosphere, staff were polite but didnt check if our food was okay and seemed fed up. The worst thing was the bill came to the same amount as we had spent previously at Caruso’s down the road which is miles better! Overall plenty of better options in Stockton.

Lovely restaurant with amazing food. The servers on were brilliant and always smiling even offered them to join us and share our chips as we may of ordered a bit too much lol (thank goodness for takeaway tubs 😋) Dessert was also amazing.😍

What has happened to this place worse one I've been too. No coffee no milkshakes only drinks are diet pop or water. Then there's the food. Fillet burger with no lettuce or mayo actually there was a little lettuce look at the photo I'm gobsmacked wont ever spend money there again. I thought the reviews were bad but thought nah cant be that bad 🤣 look at my photo of burger even chicken is soggy not crispy

The food quality at KFC Stockton is getting worse every day. I don’t understand why they hire people who can’t even make a simple burger with just a few ingredients. I ordered a Zinger Burger, and it only had the chicken fillet between the buns. That’s pathetic.

Food is good but it's not very tidy In there. One of the times me and one of my boys went for some lunch, all tables that was free had trash left on the tables, trays full. I believe this could be to their bin station where you have to sort everything out in so many different components that people give up and just leave.

Bad customer service, we inquired about the Oder and staff on the counter completely ignored and there busy with talking rather than coming out and help , what a bad place to have meal ,

Second time they have gotten my order wrong not sure how a trilogy box meal can be mistaken for a twister meal? Didnt realise until we got home as the order wasnt for me :(

Just ordered this for takeaway and got home to find out the zinger drip wings wasn’t added to my order. So disappointed, not fair to pay for things and not receive them. I was given only the zinger box meals

Vegetarian restaurant
The Waiting Room is a well-loved vegetarian restaurant that has been serving award-winning dishes since 1985. It offers a creative menu with seasonal dishes and vegan alternatives for every item. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and even has a wholefoods shop on-site. With regular live music, it provides a relaxed and warm environment that has become a favorite among both vegetarians and meat-eaters.
Really lovely restaurant. They were able to adapt several menu items to be vegan. The nut roast was delicious. Huge portion so had to get the chocolate tart to go which was absolutely amazing. Service was great too, wish we lived closer!

We popped by for lunch and got a table without a problem despite not booking. The menu was fully vegetarian and really imaginative. I'm not vegetarian myself, however you don't miss meat as the dishes are interesting and tasty. The food was tasty when it came and we didn't have to wait too long. The only thing that would've improved the experience was if the service had been a little more attentive as our plates weren't cleared after dessert and we had to go to the counter and wait for some time without being acknowledged to pay the bill. This wouldn't put me off returning though.

Me and my family came here on a Sunday, it's nice going to a restaurant that has vegetarians in mind. I am the only vegetarian but they all still found things they liked, the staff are helpful and let us know what most people who are not vegetarian tend to like for people who are a little sceptical. I was a little disappointed because I was originally given a vegan menu but later was informed it was the wrong one due to it being a Sunday menu was a little more limited. However I enjoyed my meal and were good portion sizes.

Fabulous food, recommended to us by a meat eater who didn't know we were vegetarian. We had two mains and had to share a dessert because we were both full and that is not an easy thing to manage in my case. The food was rich and really tasty and, although we ordered hearty food in the Enchiladas and Mushroom Bourguignon, they were both showing of delicate flavours in with the belly filling vibe. The celeriac dumplings were just amazing! They even had some decent beers to go with. I'm pretty sure we'll be back when we are next in Stockton.

Visited The Waiting Room to have lunch for our wedding anniversary. I was a little apprehensive before as this would be the first time at a vegetarian/vegan only restaurant and I was worried about the choice available. I shouldn’t have worried because the choice was excellent and the food was very tasty. Excellent portion sizes as well. Will definitely be visiting again.

Went here on friday and the food was absolutely gorgeous, i’m not a vegetarian but this food was some of the best i’ve tried! It was amazing value for money and the waitresses were really sweet! Already booked to come back this week!!

What happened to the place we used to love? It's been years since we were in the area so we booked a table at a place we'd celebrated many special occasions over the years. We arrived and were told it's a limited menu, we were told she knows it's annoying (we weren't remotely annoyed), and they were out of a couple of items on the limited menu. She insisted on telling us, how awful that was. Ok, we made it work with our picks. Then they were out of one of those. Fair enough. She confused me with what she said next but we got there, soup and bread for me and a main for my husband. Sorted. Until I asked for butter. That was brought and slid at me and then stormed away. OK. Didn't think it was an outrageous request. We'd almost finished when the potatoes were brought out with a, "sorry, I forgot to bring these." No sincerity and a slammed dish. Things were feeling really odd at this point. But we were ready for dessert. "Would we like dessert," "Yes, please." I ordered mine and then she turned her back the moment I finished, my husband didn't get to order. As it happens mine wasn't very pleasant so he probably didn't miss out. We left quickly after that. Such a shame we went, so many happy moments have been shared there with great service and food. I wish we'd kept them as they were.

We went here after a visit many years ago. The food was very good, in particular the vegetarian lasagne. The biryani was very tasty, but a bit repetitive. It could have been smaller with a few more additions, such as chutney and naan or poppadoms. We were going to have puddings but we were too full so that shows how good the food is! There is an optional 10% service charge which I find cheeky, but I did pay because the food and service were very good.

Modern European restaurant
Muse is a charming cafe-bar on Yarm High Street that offers a contemporary twist on classic European cuisine. The restaurant's bright and colorful interior, along with its outdoor terrace, provides a delightful setting for enjoying breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is a popular choice for family gatherings and brunch outings. Customers have praised the delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, and attentive staff.
Went with my wife for breakfast at Muse in Yarm and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered the banana bread with mascarpone, eggs benedict, and the french toast – every single dish was spot on. The banana bread was rich and moist, the hollandaise on the eggs benedict was silky and full of flavour, and the french toast was perfectly golden and indulgent. Service was brilliant – really friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The space itself feels stylish but relaxed, with a bright, elegant atmosphere that makes it great for a casual breakfast or a special treat. Highly recommend – we’ll definitely be back!

Popped in for breakfast this morning, the food was incredible with service to match. I had a full English, food cooked to perfection, especially the bacon. Will certainly be back for more.

Best restaurant at the North east so far! Great modern European cuisine with menu updating regularly. Perfect place to go for a date or having celebration. Would recommend booking in advance (2weeks at least). Among the desserts - sticky toffee pudding is defo the best!💫 braised beef and cod dishes are great! Took star of atmosphere, music was a bit loud last time.

We had a full english and vegan alternative. It was okaaay, but nothing special. Quality of ingredients was of a good standard but, flavours etc were just not there. Decent place and price, but wont go there again, as there plenty other places with a much better full english.

Came here for a birthday, lovely food (highly recommend the prawns, black cod and lamb) but small portions. Service could have been better, lots of staff standing around and chatting when we had asked for things such as extra water or drinks, and had to send a meal back due to it being unsuitable (rare lamb, had asked for it well done) for a pregnant woman in our group. Not 100% I would be rushing back even with the nice food.
