Great stay. Beautiful views. Thank you Andy for the upgrade and looking after us
Convenient location close to town. About a 20 min walk to the center of town, 5 min to the lake. Air conditioning available although did take some time to cool the room given the full glass windows and intense sun of New Zealand. The host is very easy to communicate with and friendly. There was free parking. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture is a bit mismatched and doesn’t have a modern/updated vibe but overall functional. Great view of the night sky.
Wasn't able to make the trip to Tekapo due to sickness and the hotel refused to even consider waiving the cancelation fee, resulting in having to pay for the entire room. When disputing, they just blamed Booking.com even though the hotel reserves the right to waive cancelation fees.

Reviews
Three Rivers Lodge in Lake Tekapo has received mixed reviews, with guests praising the kind and accommodating staff who provided a full refund for a booking mistake. The location offers stunning views of the lake during the day and an incredible view of the Milky Way at night. While some guests appreciated the spacious and clean rooms with air conditioning, others were disappointed by poor customer service, room conditions, and abrupt cancellations by the owner/manager. However, positive experiences included comfortable beds, delicious breakfasts, cozy rooms with beautiful lake views, and helpful recommendations from hosts.

I had a very bad experience with this property & owner/manager Andy. Sadly I had to give one star to enable me to leave a review. It should be zero.
We are overseas visitors to NZ & Andy cancelled our booking on the day we arrived in lake Tekapo, an hour before check in & left us with no accommodation. First he informed our booking agent that we had requested to cancel the booking (which was untrue & we would not have as it was non refundable) so I called him direct. He basically said it was not his problem that because of him cancelling our booking at so late notice, we now had nowhere to stay that night. When I asked why he had cancelled the booking, he said it was because I had emailed in advance to inform them of my allergy to feathers! AVOID - unless you have a back up plan!!!
Nice accommodation on the way into Tekapo. We stayed over Labour Weekend. The view from the room was stunning.
Staff were lovely.
The only issue we had was that the sliding doors on the front of the room were misaligned and there was a gap between the doors at the top and bottom of the doors. Also there does not appear to be any soundproofing as we could hear the conversation in the neighboring unit.
