1Onsen Hot Pools and Day Spa

Spa
Nestled in Arthurs Point, just a short drive from Queenstown, Onsen Hot Pools Retreat and Day Spa offers an exclusive and luxurious experience. The private cedar-lined hot tubs provide stunning views of the Shotover River canyon, making it a perfect romantic getaway. While the cost may be on the higher side, the experience is well worth it for couples looking to indulge in a unique and intimate retreat.
We had an amazing experience at Onsen Hot Pools! From the moment we arrived, the customer service was outstanding—friendly smiles all around the facility made us feel welcome immediately. The interior design of the waiting area is calming, relaxing, and warm, creating the perfect atmosphere while you wait for your session. There’s even a charging station if needed. We booked the original Onsen (soak only) during the evening. Even though the weather was rainy and we didn’t get to see a sunset, the views from the pool were still breathtaking. Each of us received a complimentary drink and snack, which were perfect for enjoying throughout our soak. The private pool room had some really handy features: you could easily add cold water, open and close the glass sliding cover, turn off the lights or the bubbles, and adjust settings to your preference. Staff also acknowledged the 15-minute warning call, giving us plenty of time to get ready to change and have a quick shower. Having a private shower in the room was very convenient, so we didn’t need to use the shared changing area. One small suggestion would be to add a mirror in the room, although mirrors are available in the shared changing area if needed. We really enjoyed this activity—it’s the perfect way to unwind with your partner, just talking, relaxing, and soaking in the views. The staff really accommodate your preferences, which is why I would highly recommend booking a session here. There are other activities offered at Onsen, but we didn’t have time to try them. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Queenstown, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

I am exploring the South Island from Townsville, Australia, and this was an experience that was on my “must do” to do list - and boy did it not disappoint. The entrance to the place was beautiful, smelled DIVINE, the staff were lovely and so accomodating. I instantly felt relaxed. I booked the “tri bath” experience for my partner and I, and I don’t regret it one bit - even the ice bath in 2 degree weather - was such a nice touch between the steam shower and hot spa. You receive your own private area/room, with a complimentary drink and snack and with an incredible view. It was honestly better than I expected it to be and I already had high expectations. The smell throughout the entire venue was so calming and smelt lovely. We will definitely be back, loved this experience so much. And worth the cost a million times over. Thank you for being so accommodating.
Jazi S — Google review
Amazing experience! By far my favorite thing we did in Queenstown. Extremely clean, quiet, private, and customized to exactly what you wanted. The views didn’t disappoint. Snacks and drinks were perfect. Sabah gave the best back massage I have ever had. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting some time to unwind and relax. We went the the last day we were in Queenstown, if I had been in town longer I would have booked again.
Danielle C — Google review
Recommend going to this ~~ Key highlights: * Affordable for what you get * Complimentary drink / snacks in your session * Lovely views We booked a private 60min onsen for ourselves and it was absolutely lovely. My friends and I really enjoyed chatting and relaxing, customer service was absolutely lovely. Interior was lovely and calm, clean, spacious. Just a heads up that the place itself, you have to go down flights of gravel steps, not a big deal since there were rails but we had a friend that was in a leg brace and it was slightly steep, so just be mindful when you go down. Even the ramp was loose gravel, so I can't imagine someone in a wheelchair making their way down with ease, I hope the business will take this into consideration and perhaps lay down a concrete ramp. :) 10/10
Jasmin V — Google review
The waiting area was lovely and the staff were very friendly, and I really appreciated the convenient shuttle service from town. That said, I found the value quite different depending on the time of day. During the day you can enjoy the views, but at night it feels harder to justify the same price, especially if the sky isn’t perfectly clear. Without the stars or scenery, there isn’t much to see, which was a little disappointing. One small suggestion: since everyone is bathing in wet togs, it would be helpful if plastic bags were provided to take them home in.
Phoebe — Google review
I booked this as a treat on our recent trip to Queenstown and it honestly met all my expectations. We booked the ‘Ultimate Relaxation Experience’ which included a 2 person soak in a private cedar-lined hot tub followed by a 1 hour treatment. The hot tub has spectacular views over the Shotover river and surrounding mountains. We opted to go just before sunset so we could admire the views in the light. I imagine if you went after dark with a clear sky, that would also be amazing! Drinks and snacks were included in the soak which was a nice touch. We then opted for the 1 hour treatment following the soak. I had a paradise bespoke massage and my partner had a deep tissue massage in a dual massage room. The massage beds were possible the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced. You are then led to a relaxation room where you are provided with a snack and a selection of hot and cold drinks to choose from while looking out at more stunning scenery. Advance booking is a must, as it can fill up quickly, especially during peak times. You can only book approx. 3-4 months in advance and we booked mid May for a mid Sept slot. The staff at Onsen were welcoming and attentive, ensuring a seamless and relaxing visit from start to finish. Whether you're visiting as a couple, with friends, or treating yourself to some solo pampering, a visit to Onsen Hot Pools is a must-do for anyone looking to experience Queenstown’s more relaxing side.
Kira S — Google review
Unfortunately we couldn't get a booking during day time. We had a late booking and the experience was still good. Our only real issue was that we were told they were providing slippers. I was going to bring my flip flips but didnt. Overall, try to get a booking during day time and bring your own flip-flops.
B. R — Google review
From the moment you walk in you're greeted warmly and escorted around to each of your treatments. The hot tub was just brilliant and the massage was the best I've had. You are introduced slowly back to reality with some tea. Ana and Ena were both amazing.

Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools is a popular attraction known for its hot mineral springs and rock pools offering stunning mountain views. It features kid-friendly water slides, a lazy river, and various pools including rock pools, sulphur pools, and luxury spas. Over the years, it has transformed into a modern world-class facility with amenities such as water jets, private pools, sauna, steam rooms, and spa treatments. This iconic destination has been drawing visitors to Hanmer Springs for over a century.
A beautiful and relaxing spot to unwind! The variety of pools is amazing — I really enjoyed the range of temperatures, especially the hotest sulphur pool. It’s clear this place is well-loved by many, and for good reason. The setting is lovely, and the different pool options make it easy to find a favorite spot. A great way to spend a few hours soaking and relaxing.
Kim B — Google review
My first trip back in about 10-12 years…slides have been refreshed but generally the same. While a bit on the chilli side the lines were short and the kids had a great time. The smaller hot thermal pools were were fairly dirty both days we went which brought the star down. Hard to fully relax with a bunch of debris floating around you Brisket pizza in the eatery was delicious and fairly priced.
Greg B — Google review
Far superior to the Polynesian Spa in Rotorua, this is a far more refined and relaxed experience. The setting is superb, surrounded by mountains and tall trees, and the range of pools is excellent. The thoughtful layout separates the family area with slides from the quieter pools, allowing everyone to enjoy themselves without conflict. I spent four hours here reading and relaxing in warm water and sunshine after driving 2,500 miles around South Island, and it was wonderfully restorative. Everything is high quality, good value, and the rental options for swimwear, towels, and lockers are very reasonably priced.
Joseph P — Google review
Was nice not as big as I thought it would be but great value for money. Amazing views of the mountains with the snow was a little cold the day we went but with the pools been so warm that wasn't an issue. The cafe has amazing food! Meatlovers pizza was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
VixSun 2 — Google review
We had a private pool and it was a great experience. Staffs are helpful. If you book for the private pool, you are allowed to go and enjoy the rest for the public areas as well ( as per receptionist). They don’t provide the towels but you can hire at the reception area.

Coming from Perth and its 17° I was a little bit hesitant. But I was here. Pools from 28°-40°. Seating in pool. At 67 it was easy to enter and leave . Hand rails too. So I walked into the 38°pool. Very hot getting in and body adjusted just like when we get in a cold pool in our summer. Didn't dunk head. Body was happy, stayed for 20-30mins then felt slightly light headed. Got out went to 28° pool. Spent an hour in that one it was nice. Made a 12yr olds aquaintance. Turned out her family was on same flight as our all abilities rugby team. She recognised us. Went back to 38° for 30mins and once again felt light headed. Normally 38° at home would have me in aircon with a large water. Morale of this, drink lots of water before and after . May get dehydrated. Kiosk with food and drinks and delicious icecream 🍦. Still loved our day there but hydration essential Get camera ready for gorgeous scenery on way there and back from Christchurch. Stunning ✨️ 😍
Anne M — Google review
Hanmer is a large-scale hot pool resort and very picturesque when there is snow on the mountains above. There are so many different bathing options to choose from, but my favorite pools were the massage jet and waterfall/cascade ones. Takes on a different dimension at nighttime, and I think they should be open later eg until 8 or 9pm at least on the busy nights so people can fully immerse themselves in the nightime experience.
World T — Google review
We are from Brisbane Australia and Travelled around south Island and camped in Hanmar Springs for the night, there was no way I wouldn't try the pools, even if it was 8°....loved it and the township is very beautiful and picturesque

Tekapo Springs is a vast swimming complex featuring thermal pools, sauna rooms, and stunning views of Mount John and Lake Tekapo. It's easily accessible by bus or car, with nearby accommodation options such as the YHA Youth Hostel. The area also offers a night market with various food options and souvenir shops. Visitors can also enjoy guided tours that include telescope viewing of the night skies and relaxing in hot pools. In case of cloudy weather, there's an indoor Virtual Reality tour available.
Great experience for the whole family. It was the first time ice skating for the family and a wonderful family experience. We did the tubing as well, and the kids enjoyed it, but I hit the safety rail before flying over the back. A few bruises but still a great experience. Just a few more chairs in the cafe would not go a miss either.
Isaac B — Google review
Such a lovely view so you couldn’t ask for a better place to have a hot springs. The disappointment we had was we expected that it would be more natural but as soon as we stepped into the pools we smelt chemical chlorine smell. I’m not so keen on soaking in chemicals:( It was explained to us that the water comes from the mountain which I assume services the entire town and it’s heated to 3 different temperatures We felt it was basically a heated swimming pool that you sit in. I think we are spoilt in Australia where we have actually hot thermal springs coming directly from the ground that has minerals that is good for your health so our expectations were most likely high.
Prestige W — Google review
If you enjoy sauna, this place is a must visit. My favourite was the hot (adult only) springs with a gorgeous view. Also fantastic activities for the kids. Very relaxing. I’m happy I paid for the upgrade and got use of the sauna, steam room and plunge pool. Lovely scenic drive from Queenstown. We got up early and 100% worth it.
Monica E — Google review
Visited Tekapo Springs in September 2025 and it was such a relaxing and memorable experience! The hot pools overlook the stunning Lake Tekapo, offering breathtaking views of the turquoise water and snow-capped mountains, truly one of the most scenic hot springs I’ve ever been to. The pools are at different temperatures, perfect for soaking and unwinding after days of travel. The facilities are clean, well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We went in the late afternoon and stayed until sunset — the view as the sky turned golden and pink was absolutely magical. The water temperature was just right, even in the cool spring air. There’s also a café nearby for drinks and snacks and everything felt peaceful and well-organized. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in Lake Tekapo. A perfect mix of comfort, scenery and serenity. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax!
Raihah R — Google review
Snow is drifting softly across the turquoise pools of Tekapo Springs, and I’m about to plunge into the warm water—what a magical moment! Arriving mid-morning, I’m greeted by delicate flurries dancing through the air, dusting the walkways and decking outside. Despite the crisp alpine chill, the pools are blissfully warm—hovering around 35 °C—and instantly relaxing. The contrast is electrifying: icy snowflakes melting the moment they touch the steamy surface, the cold bites on your hair and shoulders, while your body basks in cozy warmth. It’s an exhilarating sense of being suspended between two elements. The layout is ideal: multiple pools—indoors and out—let you pick your perfect balance of sun, snow, and serenity. The infinity-style lap pool is especially stunning with its panoramic views across Lake Tekapo under a wintry sky. An outdoor hot tub perched above the complex makes for a private, intimate soak as miniature snowflakes gently swirl around. Facilities are spotless and well kept. Indoor change rooms are spacious, with warm showers and good locker space. If you want to escape the cold entirely, there’s a sauna, but why leave the pools when the snow is so enchanting? This snowy soak at Tekapo Springs is truly unforgettable—a sensory treat of crisp air, soft snow, and enveloping warmth. A perfect winter or shoulder-season experience.
JYT — Google review
We had such a fantastic time at Tekapo Springs! The snow activities were a highlight for our family – from snow tubing to the snow play area, the kids absolutely loved it. The slopes were safe and fun, and everything was well organized. After the excitement, relaxing in the hot pools with breathtaking views was the perfect way to end the day. Truly an unforgettable experience for all ages!
Asri Y — Google review
Very enjoyable place. Staff are friendly. The food is good enough to solve a meal. I guess we managed our expectations well. Not a natural spring but a hot pool in the open winter is luxury enough for us. We waited a while for our food, because it is a tourist attraction. $10 for a towel with a deposit is a little expensive, we will bring our own next time.
Sunny T — Google review
What an epic tour! Thank you so much! The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure we captured our moon photo. We were so impressed that we went back the next day to pick up some merch. Thanks to the entire team for creating such a wonderfully relaxing evening of star-watching — we’re thrilled the clouds cleared up so we could see them. We’ll definitely be back!

Swimming pool
He Puna Taimoana Hot Pools offers a range of amenities including spacious changing rooms, showers, paid and unpaid lockers, and an attached cafe. The pool overlooks the sea and is hot but can get crowded. There's also a good-sized exercise pool for proper swimming and a hydrotherapy pool with warm water and lots of jets. The facility provides easy access for disabled individuals with low steps or ramps into the pools.
Great spot! Pools of different heat levels and a sauna with a view of the beach. Make sure to book in advance before you arrive. You get a two hour time slot.
Bianca L — Google review
He Puna Taimoana Hot Pools offers a fantastic experience, especially if you visit during off-peak hours where the pricing is incredibly reasonable – we felt it was great value for money! The changing rooms are very well-appointed and clean, though only one hairdryer was working during our visit. The staff were nice and all the pools were truly lovely, providing a wonderful relaxing soak. My main gripe was having to wait outside in the rain for our time slot rather than in an indoor area, or even the cafe. It would be a much better experience if they allowed guests to wait inside. I definitely recommend booking ahead to secure your spot.
Bianca T — Google review
Such a beautiful location - right next to the beach! A much different experience to any other hot pools we've been to. I love that they accommodate both families and couples (perfect for date night!). The sunrise sessions are also top notch - a definite must-do for Canterbury locals, and anyone visiting the region. Such an asset to New Brighton ♡
Laura-may A — Google review
We went on a freezing cold October day, driving winds, constant rain and thoroughly enjoyed our session in the hot pools. Do visit the dry sauna if only for the view. We also appreciated the heaters in the change rooms
Bronwyn N — Google review
Friendly welcome and wide range of watery warm experiences. Recommended to everyone, particularly coming from the hot steam room and diving into the sea. The family had so much fun - thank you 😁
Steve F — Google review
My friends and I visited He Puna Taimoana last week, and it was amazing! I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing soak. The facilities are spotless and modern, with great hot showers after your session. The views over the beach and pier were breathtaking as the afternoon sun started to set. Absolutely loved the experience. 😍
Aastha A — Google review
Went on a cold winter's night and loved it. The steam room was super, and soaking in the hot pool under the full moon was pure magic. Perfect way to unwind. Photo is looking out to the beach and pier from the pools.
Kim B — Google review
Great price for what it’s worth. The pools are fantastic, great sauna, steam room and cold plunge pool. Only one pool allows for views of the ocean. Would recommend booking to secure your spot. Can get very busy at adults only time, prepare to sit rather close to strangers. This place is a hot spot for tourists!

Opuke Thermal Pools & Spa offers a relaxing and enjoyable experience for adults looking to unwind. Visitors can enjoy the pools, chat with friends, and savor food and drinks at the swim-up bar. The venue is well-designed, with attentive staff providing excellent service. Guests can also indulge in delicious food like margarita pizza at reasonable prices. However, it's important to plan ahead due to the session time structure and entry fees.
We really loved our visit to Opuke! After winning an Opuke gift voucher, we were able to enjoy the luxury of Serenity adults only private solar tubs, sauna and cold plunge, as well as the Adults only Discovery Pools with swim up bar. The whole place was clean, and well thought out with towels and robes provided for each guest in their locked locker. Plus the view was incredible - snowy mountains with a horse racing arena that you could watch them train on. Highly recommend, and I am very keen to go again one day!
Georgia A — Google review
We visited here when we were on a trip in Christchurch for a few days. Opuke is such a lovely place and well worth ever dollar we spent here. We truly enjoyed the 2 hour experience to the serenity pools. Absolutely worth the trip and drive. Will definitely visit again and purchase the 4 hour experience next time.
Ms B — Google review
If you are travelling around the South Island of NZ do yourself a favor and stop at Opuke and do the thermal pools we did the 2 hr package with 2 alcoholic drinks. Great experience and lovely staff. Hot shower when we finished and even a spinning tub to spin out the water from our swimmers. They have a day spa you can also book into and don’t forget to have a go at the cold 🥶 plunge pools, if you feel your temp has risen to high in the heated pools.
Lee C — Google review
These pools were lovely. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it felt a lovely experience. The staff were very friendly from the reception to the bar staff. The different packages are good value for money. We did the middle one. You got a robe and towel included in the price. You can have food and drink at the bar. Great place for adults to enjoy any time of the day. Everything was clean and tidy. Compared to other hot pools this was a notch above.
Luke F — Google review
We had a two hour Serinity Tub late in the day. It was bliss after a very long drive, easy to top up with more hot water and we had access to the sauna with the most exquisite view of the mountain range. It is extremely well set up with towels, robes, showers etc and the staff were very helpful in guiding you through the setup. We also had dips served and drinks. Recharged and ready to continue our holiday. Recommended x
Yvonne A — Google review
We went to the pools & spa on our honeymoon. We went to the pool on the Thursday, and spa on the Friday. It was mentioned to the reception staff in passing that we were on our honestly and the staff went above and beyond to make our visit so special on both days. There staff where so friendly and kind, they made the experience so amazing and relaxed. The whole place had such a relaxed and welcoming feel. Bex and Catherine from the Spa were truly wonderful and made us feel very comfortable and the massage was amazing 10/10 would recommend. It was truly an awesome experience and we will definitely be coming back
Tash N — Google review
Awesome. Really friendly staff who greeted us and chatted. Thankyou. We had a fantastic couple hours, relaxing. My favorite was the swirl round lying on the noodles 😁 Coffee afterward and a sit enjoying the amazing views

My Fiancée and I booked in for the couples massage with hot stones and indian head massage. The service from our chosen team members Kisi & Editha done an amazing job massaging us thoroughly alongside with the Indian head massage to top it off. The atmosphere in the room was so relaxing, we fell asleep couple times. Highly recommended this spot to anyone who works the hard hrs and needs a good massage to recover, totally worth it.

My partner and I had an amazing couples massage while visiting Queenstown. We were warmly greeted and welcomed in. Once ready, our therapists took us through to the comfortable warm room, sat us down and introduced themselves and asked us individually what we would like, a really nice personal touch!! The massage beds were comfortable and heated!!! How good. Both ladies (my partner had Maria, and I had Sulu) were very professional and kind! Absolutely taking on our requests as asked. I was very happy to walk away relaxed and refreshed, rather than sore (I always ask for a gentler massage). We will totally visit on our next trip to Queenstown, totally recommended. Value for money was great, on par with what we pay in Wellington.

Best massage of my life, I told Anita I had been skiing the day before and she targeted all the spots that needed it. One hour felt like 2 and I walked out feeling completely relaxed. Plus the place is absolutely gorgeous, 10/10 interior design.

Best massage I've had in a very long time! Skilled and knowledgeable about the body, muscles and lymphatic system, they really worked wonders on my neck and trapezius muscles without hurting me. Highly recommend, we had the couples 1 hr massage.

I am traveling from Australia and was in search of a relaxing massage. Body Sanctum is that and so much more. I had a 60 minute relaxation massage and it was the best I've ever had. Beautiful ambiance in the waiting area and the spa room. Heated massage bed is a welcome touch in the colder months and my masseuse was incredible and provided the perfect pressure full body massage. Sad that it's not my local!! But will find myself booking another massage when I return to NZ again. I couldn't recommend this spa enough. If you're looking for a bit of time out for yourself and to be pampered this is the place to go! Thank you Body Sanctum!

Located in Franz Josef, Waiho Hot Tubs offers a luxurious and private experience amidst the stunning rainforest. The hot tubs provide an intimate setting for up to 4 people, with the water changed out between visits to ensure freshness. These wood-fired hot tubs utilize water from a mountain stream, creating a romantic ambiance enveloped by lush trees and ferns. Visitors can recharge their bodies and minds while soaking in their own private hot tub hidden in the rainforest setting.
Highly recommend this place- you won’t be disappointed! Conveniently located just across the road from the Visitors Centre, my partner spontaneously decided to try it out :) We booked an evening session for four and were guided to our own private area tucked away among the trees. The setup is beautiful and peaceful, with a small wooden changing hut just steps from the hot tub. The staff clearly explained how to adjust the temperature, which was super easy to manage. A lovely young staff member (who seemed to be running the whole operation) was friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. She provided us with a big bowl of Epsom salts, a jug of cold water with cups, and some sweets to enjoy during our one-hour soak. The layout is really well thought out. Surrounded by lush greenery, it feels completely secluded- you’d never guess there were other guests nearby. There’s also an option to take a hot shower, and if you forget your gear, you can hire a set on-site. The soak was just what we needed- relaxing, restorative, and perfect for easing all the aches from travel and hiking. I thought it would be freezing cold to attend this at night but it wasn’t that bad! We left feeling refreshed and would absolutely return again!

Our first shared spa/hot tub experience, where we got ourselves a deal via a Soak Dine Stay package with a nearby motel. 🧂 we bought ourselves some epsom salt to be added into our bath at the counter when checking in at an extra $10, and it came in a huge bowl! There’s also other add ons they offer, though it’s not very affordable. 🚻 the space was decently private, while it’s a hot tub for the group, we could barely see another 2 groups from where we were, with a small changing/storage room that has doors if you mind your privacy. 🍷 our motel staff also told us there’s a BYO policy, so instead of wine, we brought ourselves some juice from the nearby supermarket to be enjoyed during the bath 🛀🏻 the hot tub itself was pretty hot even though it doesn’t look like it is with just some wood keeping it warm. Definitely felt hot and was sweating past 30 minutes. There wasn’t much of a view since there were trees and fences built around the space, which was slightly unfortunate since there’s a great opportunity in that - though again understandable to protect our privacy. Post the experience, we both felt pretty refreshed and lighter, though it’s likely psychological since we just exited a large hot tub, but nonetheless it was a good feeling and one that we will return for if we have the chance to!

We went in the rain and this was an absolutely magical experience. The owner, Adam, was very kind and super responsive via email. There were 6 of us and we had 3 tubs, 2 people each. All of us had a wonderful time. The setting was very private and relaxing. It made our stay in Franz Josef well worth it!

Absolutely loved my visit to Waiho Hot Tubs! The atmosphere is pure tranquility, soaking in a beautifully crafted wooden tub surrounded by lush native ferns felt like being in the middle of a rainforest. Everything was spotless and well-prepared, from the towels to the aromatic salts and candles that made the experience extra relaxing. A special mention to Robin at the counter. He was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful. Even though they were fully booked and I didn’t have a reservation, he went out of his way to fit me in for a session. His professionalism and kindness really stood out. The entire setup, especially in the evening with the warm lighting and forest backdrop, was just magical. Perfect way to unwind after exploring Franz Josef. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

This was an amazing experience. We did the kayaks the day before and we did a hike in the morning so me and my husband were very sore and the hot tub was just so relaxing and beautiful scenery too. You even have the option to add some epsom salts if you’d like. Definitely 5 stars. Would definitely recommend

Did a 2 person experience here. It is in the main area of franz joseph making it really easy to get to if you're staying in the area (only 3 mins from our accomodation). The tub is surrounded by beautiful lush forest and really lovely. You get to byo snacks and drinks if you want and towels are provided. It was a really good way to relax after a few big hikes and is probably one the best thing you can do while you're here. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely serene experience. My wife and I had a lovely time. The fact that the tubs are wood fired is beautiful and the rainforest surrounding each tub makes for a really nice quiet private experience. Totally recommend.

One of the best massages I've had - special shout out to Severine who was such a good masseuse. She understood how to target the tension and relief pain from a previous injury. The massage had multiple different stages and felt really thorough and good value - will definitely be coming again!

I do not feel this was a 5 star experience. I booked a 90 minute relaxation massage at 6:45pm. The ladies asked I give them my room number as I was staying within the resort. When I did this they asked if I wanted an earlier appointment and I said no as I had dinner plans and was excited for my day to end with a massage. The day of the appointment I got two phone calls an hour apart asking to move my appointment forward to 5:30. I had already said yes the first phone call and felt that there was a lack of customer focus and more of a need to get out of work early. They then asked for payment as soon as I arrived and took me down to the ‘relaxation room’ which was just a room, nothing fancy or 5 star. Then was taken straight to the treatment and got the massage. The lady was very nice but the massage itself was not that great. I did not feel relaxed and felt like I was barely massaged. I have been to multiple 5 star spas before and I was given tea and forms to fill out upon arrival, taken to the change rooms and given robes, and the service was amazing…. But here I felt like I just walked into a massage parlour on the street.. if I wasn’t a guest at the hotel I wouldn’t have even known there was a pool and spa downstairs.. I wasn’t told there was a change room with showers.. I wasn’t hot towelled off completely only on my back? Once the treatment was done they sent me on my way. I am very very upset and disappointed especially considering I paid $229 for a massage…….

Huge thanks to the amazing and kind Eforea Spa reception team and my talented therapist - they all made us feel so welcome and relaxed. My therapist melted away all my travel fatigue; she knew exactly where to apply the perfect pressure, and I honestly didn't want the massage to end. My partner also had the two - hour Spring Package and absolutely loved it. - he said he's already planning to book again next year. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Queenstown!!

I had an amazing 90-minute treatment. My therapist was fantastic, and the receptionist was equally welcoming and professional. The facility was excellent, with a calm and quiet atmosphere since there weren’t many people around. I would highly recommend this place

I came here for a couple's massage, and we both loved the experience. Everyone was polite, and the environment was relaxing. After our massage, we were not rushed out by the staff but were instead offered tea. We were then allowed to enjoy the beautiful view for as long as we wanted.
Troy B — Google review
Very disappointing experience for what's meant to be a 5-star spa. I booked a 90-min massage for my birthday and was told the next morning they could accomodate 30 minutes after my requested time. I replied to confirm within 30 minutes, only to be told all slots were suddenly full. I called five times — no answer. Eventually, I was offered a 60-min massage at 4 PM, which I couldn’t take due to childcare. I had taken the day off work for this. After finally speaking to someone via the hotel, the manager emailed two days later saying appointments aren't confirmed without payment — had I been asked for payment at any point I would have gladly provided. I explained my frustration and mentioned I’ve been a loyal customer (buying gift vouchers, using facilities regularly), but received no apology or solution. Extremely poor customer service. Won’t be returning.

The suites, available in one, two, or three bedrooms, are fully self-contained and exude luxury. Guests have access to top-notch amenities including a health club, heated indoor lap pool, spa pool, and sauna. The hotel's interior boasts a beautifully restored Old Government Building with stunning features like stained-glass windows and dark-wood paneling.
We were a group of 10. A mixture of children and adults. Our stay at the Adina was great. Each room had its own facilities, including being able to cook a meal if we wished. The rooms were serviced each day by a willing and polite team. The beds were comfy and warm. The kids loved being in the pool and spa pool. The adults enjoyed the workout room, sauna and spa. The hotel is situated in the middle of Christchurch city. This made everything accessible for all of us

I haven’t stayed in the hotel as such but I’ve drank in the bar below and listen to some live music, The vibe is incredible - They serve a nice range of wines and we had a sheer platter with some delicious pickled vegetables and focaccia bread. I’ll definitely be back for the atmosphere and hopefully one day to stay as well the reviews for the rooms look really good. The old building just makes it!

This is a heritage building and beautifully finished. Great location. Close to attractions dining and shops. Tram located right across the street. Stayed in a 1 Bedroom suite. We were shocked when we entered the suite. It was 2 levels, with the Bedroom and bathroom on the top floor. Large sitting area on the main level with a TV, kitchen table with 4 chairs and kitchenette. Also a TV in the bedroom. The room was clean. Plugs located next to the bed to charge our devices. Room had a safe which was nice to have. The washer and dryer worked well but were quite noisy. Furniture was dated. We found the bed, chairs and sofa too soft for us.
Terri G — Google review
Loved this hotel. Such a great location close to the convention centre and and easy walk to Riverside markets, mall and restaurants. I loved staying in such a historic building and my room was stunning with huge floor to ceiling double story windows, with a view of the tram. The only thing that isn't clear on the website is that the bedroom is a spacious loft, but does have stairs that might be an issue if you have mobility issues. But it's a perfect layout if you need to work as the sleeping and living areas are quite separate and overall it's much bigger than an ordinary hotel room. The spa was lovely and all the staff were very helpful and approachable.

This is our second stay here and it doesn't disappoint. not only are the rooms extremely large split level, its very central and easy to walk wherever you need to go in town. We visited a year ago, and it was interesting to see just in that year the work that has been done around town. Christchurch is really going to be an amazing city (already is) and the Heritage is right in the middle of it all! The service is flawless, thank you to all the staff for your help. However we were disappointed to see the restaurant was closed this time, they did the best dessert which we were looking forward to. I highly recommend this place only so many levels. We look forward to coming back!
Katie — Google review
Adina Heritage Christchurch was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The hotel clearly does not care about guests at all. The pool looks like it hasn’t been properly cleaned or maintained in years (see attached photo), and the rooms are filthy. My mattress had huge stains and looked disgusting under the sheets (see attached), making it impossible to sleep comfortably. The hallways felt dark, dated, and uncared-for (see attached photo). I specifically requested an upgraded room or at least that the issues be fixed, but the manager, Astrid, refused to take responsibility or do anything to make it right. No apology, no solution—just blatant disregard for guests’ comfort. This hotel is a total scam—charging premium rates while delivering substandard facilities, filthy rooms. Do not waste your money here. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Lastly all hotel smells bad like drunk people Room windows leak cold air and room heater is useless

Absolutely amazing stay. Apartment clean spacious, and luxurious. One particular reception staff Aaman went over and above enabling us together concert tickets that we could not access. He really made our stay brilliant. This Apt. was booked by my spanisch travel agency. A great thanks for that. 100% satisfying. Can just repeat the former good posts. Now in Nelson I would be happy if the local agency had booked something similar. But no problem, I will survive also in a normal hotel. Mainly because of the receptionists friendliness.

A lovely spot to spend a relaxing time in the hot tub whilst looking out over a little pond and enjoying the wildlife. Shame there aren't showers in the pods next to the hot tub (we were in 2) they may be in others though. We went straight after walking round the clay cliffs so a shower before we got in would have been great but I wasn't about to have one in the main building and run to the hot tub!

We came here as a stop by for our honeymoon, we had just come from a wet, cold, freezing Milford sounds which we had just spent $250 on a cruise. These hot tubs were God sent. This absolutely transformed our trip around, we would trade that $250 on the Milford cruise EVERYDAY. I cannot rate this place higher enough, the lovely lady we met while we were there on the 02/10 was amazing, engaging and supportive. The staff were exceptional. This will be a staple recommendation for when people ask us what to do on their South Island trips

This is such a great weather proof option even if there's no view. We've been to a few hot tub experiences around NZ and I think this is probably the best experience and value for money. Price is reasonable, they provide drinking water and towels foc and the hot tubs feel clean. Stunning experience if it's snowing too. 10/10 recommend!

AMAZING! Highly recommend a stop here if you're in the area. The tub was on the side of a lake with the snowy mountains in the distance, talk about views! Loved that the water is so fresh. Very cool the tubs are heated by fire too. The facilities were immaculate, very clean! Loved being able to jump out of the tub and have a fresh, cold shower, then hop back in the tub. Privacy was amazing, we had our own changing rooms. The staff were super friendly too, thanks!

Pleasantly surprised. Super nice room (2C). Super comfortable. Clean. Great views. Comfortable. Everything feels brand new in the room. Extremely underrated for 4.4 stars. First class value for money. Only improvement was I think front desk customer service could have been better but I am not sure if she could or couldn’t have done anything to accommodate any requests. Basically everything cannot be done so I guess that’s zero for customer service 😅. Otherwise very happy with the selection of this hotel.

We used this as a base to explore the area. A great little resort, our room was on the top floor and had 2 queen beds, a lovely outlook. Kept very clean and tidy. Easy parking right behind and only 10min to Cromwell for supplies. Recommend as a nice quiet place to stay.

I had my wonderful time. Beautiful view and relaxing room, which a perfect bath for me to enjoy and it comes with a small balcony. Plenty of parking for me to park. Is just the room air conditioning is not working well as the weather is getting warmer, I have to open to door to let the air in. Other than that I would recommend people to come.

My husband and I arrived at the 1st week of July, and stayed for 5 nights. Booked in a 1 bedroom villa and got everything we needed. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. Kitchenette was more than we could ask for. We love the double shower head, so we didn't have to fight over the shower lol! The heated towel rack is a small detail that makes a big difference. The view from our villa was breathtaking! The resort was totally serene. Furthermore, we got direct access from our terrace to the lake too! They also provide self-service laundry facilities, which were very useful. We had a fantastic stay, thanks Marsden!

The name "Lake Resort" would tell you that it's from an high quality. There were some ??? for that. We stayed for 2 nights with only 1 towel each per person. We had to go to the office for asking an extra towel🙄. The lady in the office was sitting on her chair with her winter jacket on🤔. She didn't stand up from her chair 🤔. Milk in the room wasn't provided in an bottle but in an ordinary little cup. I give 4stars for room and location but the service of "Marsden Lake Resort" needs to be improved. Only booked this place for a sauna and wifi since I’ve been without wifi for a couple of days and needed to fix some stuff. The sauna and spa section is a joke. Sauna is broken and doesn’t work, there’s no cold shower or changing rooms.. wifi DIDN’T work and when I asked the reception for help they said that it should work and I should try again. I tried multiple times and I feel like the reception didn’t really care tbh.. Amazing location and what a great hotel this could be if the rooms, food and more importantly the staff were better. Having stayed at several hotels in New Zealand the staff here were unhelpful and inconsiderate, mainly the receptionists ( restaurant were ok). Couldn't be bothered to tell us our room was ready and didn't offer any help taking our luggage to the rooms ( so had to make 2 trips). The rooms were cold, and old looking. Such a shame as the location and potential is wonderful.

Given an upgraded room On arrival which was nice. Room was good, had a kitchenette and washer/dryer which was so handy. One minor issue with the room. Could have been a bit more welcoming. Quite functional and plain but still a good room overall. Had a lake view which was nice. Found all the staff welcoming and helpful. Buffet Breakfast wasn’t the best though. Not very inviting and felt limited. Other than that I’d stay here again.

Lovely hotel on the edge of Lake Wanaka which lived up to its billing of a 5 star resort. Friendly helpful staff, deluxe room with lake and mountain views, fast WiFi, tv and very comfy bed. Perhaps a bit more power in the shower was my only grumble. Make sure you pre book breakfast to get the discounted rate - it was fabulous with both a hot and cold selection. On site has tennis courts, putting green, hot tub and jacuzzi plus plenty of parking. It’s a simple walk down to the lake too plus an easy 25 min shore walk into the town. Great stay and would highly recommend.

Everything was wonderful. The food was delicious, and the staff were all very friendly. There's a beautiful grassy lawn, and it's also very close to the lakeside walking path. We especially enjoyed talking to the humorous and charming elderly gentleman at the service desk who gave us directions to the lake.

This is a beautiful property and the rooms are extremely clean and well designed. No idea on smaller rooms, but the suite is very sizable and the views and location are immaculate. The staff is well trained, kind, and personable. Probably the best property I stayed in throughout the north and South Island. Thanks team Edgewater!

Lovely resort a short walk from the town center. The Premium Suite was beautifully laid out, well-appointed, and had a gorgeous lake view. A perfect place to rest and relax or get out and adventure.

Resort hotel
Nestled in the picturesque Lewis Pass, Maruia Hot Springs is a hidden gem offering natural thermal pools and a rustic mountain retreat. The tranquil atmosphere, surrounded by lush forestry and starry skies, provides an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Guests can indulge in locally sourced dining, rejuvenating hot springs, saunas, and even yoga classes with breath-work sessions.
Visited the hot pools in the evening and had a very relaxing experience. The view is great and the hot pools are very relaxing, with a nice range of temperatures in the different sulphur pools. We didn't stay the night so can't comment on the service or food offerings, but the lady at reception was friendly and helpful. Slight improvement would be direct access between the outdoor pools and indoor pool, as walking through the reception is a bit awkward. Very good overall for a day visit though! Much more relaxing than busy pools at Hanmer
Alex F — Google review
This thermal pool was a fantastic experience and a pleasant surprise, but it's best suited for adults. For families with young children, we wouldn't recommend it due to the lack of amenities like a playground, TV, and limited food options. My family stayed one night to enjoy this award-winning spa and had a wonderful time. The 1-hour sauna guided tour was amazing, and the 24/7 pool access was a highlight, allowing us to soak multiple times, including right before check-out. A key suggestion is to bring your own snacks and drinks, as there's nothing available for purchase on site. Our son was quite bored (and WiFi is not complimentary), but we will absolutely return—next time for an adult-only retreat.
Faye O — Google review
We stayed a night in the glamping pods. The food was incredible, staff were friendly and easy to approach, multiple soaks was a highlight and the pod was the perfect size for us 2. Unfortunately there is construction going on at the moment so the gorgeous views you see in their advertising are largely blocked by big construction fences. Another frustration was that no shampoo or conditioner or any toiletries are provided - when paying nearly $500 a night.
Hannah R — Google review
Beautiful place with amazing views of the mountains and great hot springs and sauna. Unfortunately though there is a lot of construction going on. There’s large metal fencing in front of the outdoor hot pools obstructing the view and detracting from the feel of the place, the indoor pool is also closed completely. None of this was mentioned on their website and for the significant cost (just under $600 per night) probably would have affected our decision to visit. The food was great, enjoyed both dinner and breakfast and the coffee was great too. Everything arrived very quickly! In general service was a bit below average for the price point. Unfortunately reception was often unattended with long queues forming particularly during peak hours. Seems like most if not all of the staff were new/seasonal and while they were very kind it seemed a bit disorganised with no clear management. The room itself was clean and tidy but the showers were either sporadically hot with spitting pressure or completely cold. Appreciate that they are off grid but again, not what you expect for the price point. You also have to pay separately for the wifi which was a bit unexpected given the cost of rooms!

We booked a 3 night stay with meals included, in a mountain-view room a few months ago. I'd give it 3.5 stars overall, but have rounded up due to Google limitations. The Room: We loved it! The selection of teas were fantastic and the relaxing lighting in the bathroom made showering feel like a spa experience. We were on the bottom floor and I was worried we'd just see the parking lot, but thoughtfully planted shrubs prevented this and I spent the mornings, hot mug of tea/coffee in-hand, happily looking out on the beautiful mountains with the fog swirling around them - magic. The Service: Prior to booking, I had read some concerning reviews on Google about the customer treatment, but I hoped for the best. I really wanted it to be this amazing experience. Unfortunately, I did see why previous guests had been upset. I felt a bit unwelcome from the moment we stepped in the door. No outright poor treatment, but this sense that we were an inconvenience to the staff, just by being there. I do feel empathetic towards the team - it seems they live where they work and there's nothing else to do around Maruia - the closest town is a bit of a drive. I think not having a good balance of work and personal life would affect anyone. I am making assumptions that may or not be the reality- it's just the sense I got. We did interact with a couple very nice and friendly staff members, but most just seemed overworked, overwhelmed, and a bit exasperated. I felt for them, but it did put a bit of a damper on an expensive stay. The Food: Absolutely delicious. I was dancing in my seat it was so incredible. That said, I'm vegetarian, which meant I ate the same exact dinner three days in a row, as there was only one veggie dinner option. As much as I absolutely loved the dinner the first night, by the third night, I did wish I could have had something different. I had seen in Google reviews that they will cook something special (off-menu) for vegetarians staying longer than 2 nights, but no one offered this to me and I did not want to ask given the feeling of disinterest we got from the staff. There were a few options for breakfast that were veggie, so I tried a different one each day, and they were absolutely stunning. Hot Springs: Sure, it's bit buggy, but we didn't mind (the resort supplies repellant and we brought our own). We went to the pools/saunas a couple times each day during our stay. It was lovely having the pools available at all hours. We also did an essential oil sauna and loved the woman leading it. Very relaxing! In Summary: There were so many lovely things about our stay - great room, amazing food, relaxing pools. It's therefore a bit sad that the feeling from the staff permeates my memory of the trip. I would like to go back someday, but not sure we could justify the cost given this feeling.
Lan P — Google review
This is the best hot springs and spa retreat I've been to in New Zealand. I loved bathing in the hot springs while enjoying the beautiful views of the river and the mountains. The saunas and cold plunges are amazing, we really loved the guided sauna infusion. The pods are so cosy and the food is delicious. On top of that, the staff are really friendly. There's some construction work happening as they're building a larger sauna, but it wasn't noisy or distract from the experience. Thanks for having us, would definitely come again 😁
Sam W — Google review
Enjoyed the sauna infusion experience, yoga/meditation, healthy meals, relaxing ambience of the place. The contrast between the snowy conditions outside and the hot pools, indoor fireplaces made it an extra-special experience. Although please remember to keep the fires well stoked when it is cold outside! Look forward to when they have the new indoor hot pool area complete.

1 star- Maruia Springs completely ruined our honeymoon!! Our stay at Maruia Springs was honestly one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had — and it ruined what should have been a special, once-in-a-lifetime trip. I would never recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, let alone a honeymoon. From the moment we arrived, it felt more like checking into a prison than a resort. There were stingy, passive-aggressive notes plastered everywhere, setting the tone immediately. The room lacked basic amenities — no cutlery, no microwave, no TV, no laundry facilities. We even had to fill up our cups in the bathroom sink because there was no proper drinking water setup. The so-called “station for two people” barely had enough water for one drink, and even boiling that took five minutes. The food was bland and oddly mismatched, completely different from what’s advertised online. On top of that, we were forced to pay for basic drinks like coffee, even though we had paid for a breakfast and dinner in the package. The Wi-Fi situation is a joke — only 15 minutes free for the entire stay — and the towels and toilet paper were such poor quality they might as well have not bothered. To make things worse, the staff were cold and unwelcoming, and failed to fulfill basic tasks like providing a locker key for our things while using the hot pools etc. Loud music blasted early in the mornings, destroying any hope of peace or rest. Even the hot pools were uncomfortable, as sandflies attacked us the entire time. Plastic wine glasses, thin robes for the pools (though I’ll admit — the robes in the rooms were the one decent thing), and an overall atmosphere of penny-pinching made it feel cheap and miserable. I would also like to add that we paid an astounding $1100 for two nights! This place is nothing like what’s promised online. The lack of warmth, comfort, and hospitality was shocking. If you’re thinking of booking Maruia Springs for a honeymoon or special trip — don’t. Save yourself the disappointment.

Experience a delightful stay at Wanaka TOP 10 Holiday Park, located just outside Wanaka. The park offers a range of accommodation options including bright quarters and basic cabins. Guests can enjoy various amenities such as BBQ areas, hot tubs, sauna, and complimentary wireless internet access. The family-owned holiday park provides eco-certified lodging with a focus on exceeding guest expectations. Additionally, visitors have access to facilities like bike rentals, communal kitchen areas, and shared laundry services.
Our favourite stay of the trip. Booked the powered campsite for our campervan and their facilities were amazing. Warm and clean kitchen area and bathrooms. Was so good that we decided to stay here for 2 nights. Bonus for a super cute cat who greeted us at our van!
Tryphena T — Google review
I stayed at the park for 3 nights on a powered site in a caravan. The site was a good size with a tap and a grey water drain nearby. The facilities at the park are excellent, modern and clean. However at $70 per night for one adult and one child and $6 per load to use the washing machine or dryer the park is well overpriced.
Willie A — Google review
Good park, close to town centre but was a little too far to walk with the weather we had. Our powered site had a nice view of wanakas mountains. We stayed here as it was closest park to centre, but the point is mute when you end up driving to town anyway. The main negative is the bathrooms. Firstly they use timer lights and fans, which is great to save power but you don't realise until your sitting in the dark. Naturally you enter with lights and fans on and think nothing, but you need to hit the reset switch every time to ensure they stay on, which is not clear. The ceiling is all wet and peeling paint, probably because the ventilation keeps turning off. The mens has no urinals which with men unfortunately means there's piss all over the cubical floors because some people struggle to hit the target, especially when the lights go out. They shut the mens while they clean, and women's becomes unisex, and visa versa, maybe this is why there's no urinals but it seems to be the only park where this is done.. just clean them normally multiple times and day and put some urinals in so I dont have to sit in piss please. Hot water couldn't keep up with hot, but stayed warm. Camp facilities otherwise are great. Washing machines and dryers are expensive though $6 each per load, and unless you run the dryer on high and ruin your clothes, you spend $18 for a wash and dry. Overall would maybe stay here again but would see what else is around.

Sorry for the late review , it’s been a year! I stayed here for 2 nights during my honeymoon and honestly have nothing negative to say about this holiday park. They ticked so many boxes, especially for the price. We booked a room with a king size bed and private bathroom. The room was spacious, and to my surprise, there was a lovely back garden where rabbits were hopping around , such a nice touch! I wish I had stayed longer in Wanaka, and of course, I’d choose this holiday park again. The shared kitchen was large, clean, and well equipped. I absolutely loved it and hope to return very soon!

Had a one-night stay at Wanaka Top 10 Holiday Park on a powered campervan site. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the reception staff were welcoming and pleasant. Overall, a great experience and good value for money.
Arjunbpradeep 1 — Google review
I don’t understand those good ratings. The place is small and literally everything is smashed together. Lots of campervans parked and stayed here and just one small kitchen with few tables and 6 stoves only. Even sofa place, a family occupied for few hours there, no any room and space for other family. You have to wait for everything, even showing room, just 4 showing rooms for ladies, I waited for a hour until night over 9:30pm, that is crazy small place, worse than hostel, to be honest. Never ever will come this one. The worst top10 power site ever.
Letitia — Google review
Lovely campsite with great facilities. The bathroom is clean and new. The kitchen is well-equipped and easy to use. Bonus – there’s a super cute cat roaming around that made our stay even more special. We stayed here 2 nights.

It was a little out of town, but that's how we prefer it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I didn't get to try it, but there was a spa/ hot tub there, and according to the neighbour "it was fabulous ".

The utility is enormous: you can pre-explore a hotel entrance, verify street parking, or simply satisfy curiosity about remote global landmarks. While coverage can sometimes be dated or patchy in less-traveled regions, the staggering volume of high-quality, continuous imagery provides an unparalleled sense of place and accessibility. It is an indispensable tool for both travel planning and armchair exploration.

We had an apartment and it was great! Spacious, big living room and bedroom. Nice balcony with a great view of the hills. Nice kitchen, the frying pan was shit but that's always the case, bought a new one and didn't regret it 1 day. Best gym on the South Island!! New equipment, great set up...made us so happy to get a decent workout in Would stay here again.

Stayed here an Accor Vacation Club member. A nice one bedroom studio which was nicely set out, with all we needed. One thing which wasn't great was the wifi which was not working. Great location just outside of town.
Melissa M — Google review
Wifi is weak to non-existent. Restaurant is either booked with tour bus crowds or closed. Hall lights on motion detectors that leave you in the dark on a stairwell. They do not really have hot tubs, only tubs with warm water [100 degrees] and no jets - tubs have jets but the place is too cheap to pay to turn them on - so no bubbling water, just a bathtub. The place feels like a cheap timeshare.

The place is fantastic. The staff are great and hot tubs are brilliant after a full day of skiing. The apartments are also a great size

The best place we stayed in our whole NZ trip. Fantastic staff, the room was fantastic and the shuttle to both Arrowtown and Queenstown was a saviour. It was our honeymoon and the hotel was kind enough to leave us champagne and some other gifts in the room. Will absolutely be staying next time I'm in NZ.

Excellent golfing experience. Played three rounds of golf here earlier in the year with expectations exceeded. I enjoyed the Coronet course the most - still my favourite track to date. Offered a good challenge with some notable features built into the terrain. Remarkables course was well presented but a little underwhelming. Seemed an upmarket parklands course. Service from the pro shop & other vendors on site was excellent. Cold beer in front of a warm fireplace post round was an added bonus. I look forward to returning again soon.
Luke M — Google review
We were very fortunate to stay at Millbrook Resort recently after our original accomodation fell through literally at the last minute. With a party of 9 including a child under two, it was not easy to find alternate accommodation at short notice, but the Millbrook Resort was able to provide us with two recently renovated suites each with double bedrooms and bathrooms. All the staff were fantastic to deal with, check-in was easy and the amenities were clearly explained. Raj one of the ‘porters’ and his associate Alex even gave us a quick tour of the main facilities while they helped us with our bags. The suites were well appointed with upgraded kitchens with all that you required to either prepare your own meals, eat at the restaurants on site, or take the free on demand shuttle to arrowtown. They even pick you from arrowtown with a simple call to reception. The breakfast was included in our rate and again the staff were very welcoming and treated us as guests. There was a great selection of both continental and cooked food options, smoothes, juices, fresh fruits etc., we really couldn’t have asked for more. As it was our sons 21st Raj and Alex even arranged a surprise bottle of sparkling wine, chocolates and balloons which was really appreciated. We all had such a wonderful time after a very stressful start to our holiday. And made sure to use the gym, pool, spas (all included) and for some of our party, 9 holes of golf (at a reasonable cost). I can’t really fault the level of service, care shown, facilities and food. They were all exceptional, and it made for a very memorable trip to Queenstown for our family. Thank you team.

Not sure if I can actually review a place I didn't stay at but I wanted to share how beautiful the grounds are. Millbrook has been around for years and in all my trips to QT this wasy first time walking around. I didn't realize the public could have dined there I thought it was guests only so wish I hadn't just had lunch ! A beautiful space with a couple of dining options, its definitely on my list to dine at next time.

We had a lovely three nights at Millbrook on the weekend. Spring is an incredible time to visit! The blossoms are next level and all the gardens are extra beautiful. We stayed in the villas and had a huge deck with a dining table at one end and chairs and drinks table at the other with a lovely view to the mountains. We used the shuttle into Queenstown which is very convenient. Staff are all awesome.

Awesome place to stay with friendly staff and perfect facilities. Special shout out to the driver Ricky, 10/10, who could not have been a better driver (super professional and friendly with lots of useful advice). The breakfast was super delicious and the staff were very friendly (25.6). Unfortunately Kobe and Mill house were both closed, which if it could be avoided occurring simultaneously again would be nice but other than that a flawless time. Worth the stay!

Located a few minutes away from Arrowtown 'village' and it's charming mix of historic buildings and modern luxury, close to the snow, and with it's world class golf course, you can't ask for more!

Played golf only Coronet course - excellent. Spectacular layout through the rocky hills. Every hole was fun and interesting. Very expensive but worth a splurge I reckon. 5 stars. Remarkables course - very average. Boring resort layout. Very few interesting holes. Some holes had me wondering what the point of them were, as they were so bland. 2 stars

A Stunning Stay at Kimi Ora – The Perfect Retreat! Our recent stay at Kimi Ora Eco Resort was an absolute dream! Perched above Kaiteriteri, this peaceful oasis offers breathtaking views of the ocean and lush native bush—it truly feels like a hidden paradise. We stayed one of the units, and wow—what an experience! It was beautifully designed, spacious, and had the most incredible outlook over the treetops. Waking up to the sunrise and the sounds of native birds was pure magic. It felt like a perfect blend of luxury and nature, offering total relaxation while still feeling connected to the environment. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, especially by Jane at reception. She was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, there was so much to enjoy—relaxing in the spa, sauna, and heated pools was absolute bliss! Breakfast was another highlight—delicious, fresh, and enjoyed with spectacular views over Kaiteriteri Beach. Sitting on the balcony with a coffee, soaking in the scenery, was the perfect way to start each day. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway where you can unwind, reconnect with nature, and be treated like a valued guest, Kimi Ora is the place to go. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to return!

We stayed here for two nights while biking in the area. It’s an older resort, but well maintained and comfortable. The pre-pay laundry and the pool/sauna facilities were brilliant after a long day on the bike. They only serve vegetarian breakfast, but we enjoyed it. Their restaurant was closed and we ended up going into town for dinner each night. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Lots of kids in the pool(s) and if you're in Unit 16/17, just be ready for a very steep hill up to the restaurant, pools, and reception.

A really awesome place to come and stay. Really friendly staff and very helpful with any information you need to know. A nice relaxing place to just come and chill out and do nothing. I Definitely Highly Recommend booking a holiday at Kimi Ora Eco Resort. They have wonderful day spa treatments that you can choose from and it's very relaxing and tranquil.

Once again, our stay at Kimi Ora was wonderful and soooo relaxing. A friendly, helpful team; a beautiful, well cared room and a fantastic breakfast with a wonderful view of the bay of Kaiteriteri. Our room with a view of Kaiteriteri Bay was also fantastic and very impressive, especially at sunrise. The spa area is also very well maintained and inviting. We had forgotten a telephone adapter in the room and hadn't even noticed, as we mainly use it while traveling. It was found by the cleaning staff and we were contacted to ask if we wanted it back or if we wanted to donate it. As we needed it, we decided to have it returned, which was totally straightforward and dealt with immediately. We would like to thank the team of Kimi Ora for their dedication and friendliness and would highly recommend Kimi Ora.

Everything was absolutely wonderful. We came for complete relaxation. My partners 60th birthday. A very rare treat. The receptionist was nothing but helpful and lovely. Made us very welcome. Both being vegetarian we were really looking forward to the vegetarian restaurant. Unbeknownst to us it was closed in the spring. Nothing on our booking website said this. So unfortunately ended up with a pizza for his big birthday dinner. The beds are extremely comfortable. Unfortunately someone else's water was in the bathroom glass. Other than that, very clean. The spa was wonderful. Then unfortunately at 8.15am I was awoken up by the sound of, what I can only describe as a pub emptying their emptiness into a. In. So that was a shock. Then almost immediately after the gardener started using an electric weed eater outside our room. This carried on for around an hour. The breakfast was perfect. We were going to book again for November after we arrived. But to be honest, this was a gift from me to my partner as a surprise for his 60th, I felt embarrassed he had to have pizza and couldn't even have a lay in on his birthday. We rarely ever go away because of busy lives, and this place isnt far from where we live, so I was very excited to treat him. We decided not to book again unfortunately 😔

We had a lovely night at Kimi Ora. Our chalet was warm and well equipped. The views from our chalet up the top were great. We enjoyed all the pool, spa, massage facilities. The bush walk through the forest to the beach turned into a very muddy experience. The track at the bottom has been overtaken by recent floods and we were sinking into the mud up to our ankles. I think Kimi Ora staff should close off the bush track and advise guests to walk down the road.

Great experience and facilities. Staff were so friendly but some were OK. Continental breakfast was yummy too, loved their pesto, homemade bread, jam, and bircher. We have been coming back and sure will be again soon. Keep up the good work.

Cracking way to spend my 30th birthday in the rain! Collette worked wonders on my tight shoulders and back. Highly recommend booking in for a massage. Only downside to the spa, is that the sauna sits around 65-70 degrees, could be about 10 degrees warm ideally.

They really get every things right down to the very last details. 👍😁 The daily service is really unexpected too and really appreciated! Highly recommended.

We highly recommend staying here and would no longer consider staying elsewhere when we go to Nelson. Very clean and comfortable. We stayed in winter and were cosy warm. The bed was so comfortable and it was very quiet so we slept brilliantly. The location is convenient and we walked everywhere - into town as well as to the Grampians summit. Dean was so welcoming and helpful.

Lovely clean motel,so handy to everything in Nelson. The owners are the best, providing umbrellas, directions, offering to take us to the supermarket & the event we were attending. Thank you so much. We loved staying with you. Wishing you all the best for your next adventure.

I recently stayed for a couple of nights at Chelsea Park in Nelson and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service — this place truly deserves recognition. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the new owner and immediately felt welcomed and well looked after. The room was spotless, comfortable, and provided the perfect environment to focus on my business trip. On my second day, Nelson experienced a power outage due to weather conditions. The owner promptly checked in to ensure I was comfortable and even brought me a hot cup of tea with homemade cookies baked by his mother the night before — such a thoughtful gesture! I wish the new owner every success in his venture. His professionalism, genuine hospitality, and attention to guests’ needs make Chelsea Park a truly special place to stay.

Everything about this place is perfect... in fact we didn't want to leave and extended our stay 2 more nights. Location is wonderful. Feels homely with a wonderful spa bath, sky boxes in the lounge and bed room AND super clean and comfortable. Highly personal service from Dean and Tomoko with a wealth of knowledge of the area, the perfect hosts. Thank you so much! Could not recommend the Chelsea Park Motor Lodge enough!

My wife and I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment at the Chelsea Park Motor Lodge in October 2025, and we really enjoyed it. The attention to detail in our room was excellent, with numerous little touches making our stay extra comfortable. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly, and the location was really good, being just a few minutes from Nelson town centre.

Highly recommend this family run motor lodge , when visiting Nelson. Warmest welcome by Dean and Tomoko, who couldn't have helped us more if they tried. Rooms were immaculate, beds super comfortable, and only 5min walk from town . Great value for money. Offstreet parking available, and fantastic amenities, inc spa bath in our room .

This Motel had everything you could want for a stay and more. I usually sleep with a fan and even a fan was provided. I requested a ground floor studio unit and everything was clean and inviting. A great place to stay. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Even putting our bags away somewhere safe in the a.m while we traveled around. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Stove top cooking and a dishwasher available. Electric blankets on all beds. T.V in all rooms. Close to town and many facilities. Highly recommend.

Pro's: Good location walking distance to city centre Con's: Rooms are very dated, furniture extremely worn, bed soft / saggy, seat on toilet loose and slips around. In addition to this there was no soap for shower (not even a pump both pumps in shower had conditioner), no milk provided and very loud pipe water noises throughout day & night from other rooms

Stayed here often as its always clean and rooms are a good size. Parking is available on site and if you dont have a car its an easy 5 minute walk and you are smack bang in town. Nice to have the complimentary biscuits too.

Embark on a delightful wine adventure with the Queenstown Wine Trail, offering both self-guided and small-group tours. The small-group tour includes visits to three wineries, where you can indulge in over 15 wine tastings alongside a traditional New Zealand-style lunch and cheese tastings. Additionally, treat yourself to a Pure Fiji Foot Revival treatment at the Body Sanctum Day Spa before the afternoon tour.
We had an amazing day! We toured such beautiful wineries, drank some delicious wine local to the region, met some really cool people from around the globe. Highlight was our tour guide T.. aka Mr T. His karaoke was entertaining, jokes were hilarious, knowledge was extensive and Kiwi accent funny as... he was excellent at keeping the vibe always fun and upbeat the whole day. Definitely recommend and hopefully you get Mr T!!
Cass A — Google review
This was a great tour and the lunch was delicious at Kinross and we got to try many wines at the 3 Wineries we visited. Despite having only two of us booked for the tour, unlike most companies they still went ahead with it. The pick up details were precise and our Driver/Tour Guide, Claire was brilliant, she is full of tips on things to do in Queenstown and places to eat. The company had been recommended to me by a friend who’d been before and she was totally right, I can’t recommend Queenstown Wine Trail Tours highly enough.
Tony G — Google review
Fantastic day with Andrew on our private tour. He was knowledgeable, entertaining (and long suffering!). We were treated so well at all the wineries we visited with private tastings, in some amazing settings, and our lunch & wine (included) were beautiful. This is the way to do it!
Luke C — Google review
THE best wine tour ever. So much fun! T was our tour guide for the afternoon, very knowledgeable and fun. T seemed to have a great relationship with all of the staff at each vineyard, which made the experience that little bit more special. If there were any wines you weren’t as keen on he would find an alternative for you. Endless jokes and entertainment. Mt. Rosa was my favourite vineyard, beautiful wines 👌🏻. Great banter, great times! Highly recommended! Thank you!

The best motel I have ever been in. We were in the spa suite and I am shocked with how much room is available. A very comfy bed, couch. A big bathroom and kitchen full of amnenities. Thanks also to the staff for their polite and friendly manner.

Stayed here 10 days when on holiday from Oz, service was great, friendly staff, location was close to Motueka, Stoke, Richmond, Nelson. Was 5min walk to maccas, kfc, smugglers pub etc. Rooms had beds, table and chairs , kitchenette and ensuite with on-site laundry. Basic room, but that's all we needed to visit family and friends. Guests appreciate the helpful staff and comfortable rooms. The motel is conveniently situated near a shopping mall, 24-hour convenience store, and a large park with gardens. Additionally, it offers easy access to Lime scooters for exploring the area.
Couldn’t be happier with this place. Wasn’t expecting much since we only booked to spend the night before hitting the road, but would love to stay for more time. The room was surprisingly big, with self contained kitchen, spacious bedroom and living room. Shower was great and bathroom clean and tidy. Beds super comfy and all room very warm when freezing cold outside. The breakfast included in the price was super generous and yummy. Great location, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Way to go guys, 10/10 🙏🏼
Amina M — Google review
This is a very basic motel. It needs an upgrade especially with how they advertise their rooms. I specifically searched for a room with a bath and booked this motel as it said it came with a bath only to get there and no bath. When I asked about it, I was told it was booking.com fault and she didn't know why they were still doing that as I wasn't the only one it had happened to. I told her that I was disappointed and she said she'd let her boss know. The room was clean and comfortable and spacious but the walls are sadly paper thin. Not terrible but not great either.
Jessica A — Google review
Pros of our room: location was excellent and we had a kitchen, queen bed and table. Cons: bad mildew smell in water heater closet and bathroom drains. The motel is run- down and grounds need work.
Ellen S — Google review
Good location. Terrible hygiene and cleanliness. Room smelled like mold, glasses had lipstick marks, heater was so loud we could not use it, especially when sleeping. What the heck is going on!

Great value for money in a great location. Spotlessly clean. Very old school motel - the place is like a trip back in time. Some of the furniture is getting a little run down but still does the job. Happy to recommend and would be happy to stay again.

Great location. The host was very welcoming, showed locations of local food outlets on the map provided, advised a spa pool was available, servicing policy and the office hours. Our room was extremely clean, the motel is an older style but doesn't let that affect its standards, which were very high. Bed was comfortable, units very spacious and quiet. Highly recommend for very reasonably priced accommodation in a great location. We would definitely stay there again. A+

The facilities are beautifully serene, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The treatment options include deep tissue massages, hot stone therapy and aromatherapy, which leave your skin feeling amazing!
Highly recommend Amy! Started the experience with filling out a form to inform them of our expectations and any issues I had, then a consultation of what to expect during the session. Amy ensured I was comfortable from start to end. And zero pressure to purchase products, which I appreciated unlike other day spas.

I had a Bliss Me Full Body Massage for 60 min today. My therapist was Anna. I would recommend Anna as a therapist! She is very friendly and made me feel welcome and relaxed from the start! She has magical hands and gave good advice. Thank you, Anna! The Bliss Me Full Body Massage left me feeling relaxed and tension free! Just what I needed!

I found out that Forme spas in NZ have recently been acquired by Endota Australia, which explains why it was such a similar experience. The spa is beautifully styled and immerses you in a sense of calm as soon as you step in. Their massages are a little light for my preference (same as Endota back home) but are nonetheless a blissfully relaxing pampering experience. Staff are also professional and accommodating.

Happily recommend Forme Spa QT!! We (myself and 3 daughters) got our hair and make-up (myself and 1 daughter) done on the 13/08/19. So happy with all the work and how kind and patient the staff were, especially with my little 2yr old who I think ate about 4 cookies... Oh and also thanks for providing the lip colour for the day it was awesome!

A beautifully serene day spa in the middle of Queenstown central. I booked in for a full body scrub just hours before my appointment and everything went so seamlessly. Sheetal made me feel so welcome and relaxed throughout my appointment. Plus the treatment left my skin feeling amazing! I’ll definitely return to Forme Spa again 😊
Lisabertha C — Google review
The only salon I will visit for my brows! Sheetal has such an amazing energy from the moment you walk in! She is so genuine and always ensures i'm relaxed during my treatment, especially with the use of calming essential oils. There is so much effort and attention to detail to make sure my brows are on point and she has shaped them beautifully over the past year. I will always recommend Forme Spa for their luxury service! I would love to see Forme Spa potentially bring in new treatments like Brow Lamination and Lash Lifts for the future!
Olivia L — Google review
Lovely lovely staff however I booked a gel mani removal and a nail file was used to remove the gel. There was no mention of this on the website and had I known acetone wouldn’t be used, I wouldn’t have booked. It was a 15 minute appointment, which I was a few minutes late for, however there was still gel on my nails following the appointment, my skin on my pinky finger had been filed too (painful when washing my hands), and the remaining nail dust was rubbed into my hands (no damp towel or brush used to remove). My nails are now really scratched and I’m asking my normal nail tech how to fix this. Lovely team but won’t be returning unfortunately. In the photos attached I’ve used my nail oil in the first image to try and get some life back into my nails.

I only have good things to say about this place! The service was outstanding from start to finish — warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The rooms were super comfortable, with heated floors that made all the difference during the cold days. What can I say about this place? Pictures simply don’t do it justice. The staff were incredibly attentive yet laid-back, and truly made our stay special. The hotel itself was beautifully maintained, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. I loved how quiet and secluded the area was – it made for such a peaceful retreat. Great location outside of town, the most friendly people-very accommodating for vegans. Loved our stay! Everyone was so easy to talk to and had great suggestions throughout our stay. They even had vegan treats for us during turndown service! And the night sky is breathtaking from this location! Make a point to spend a lot of time on the lanai in the evening! One of my favorite parts of the stay!

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Azur Luxury Lodge. The staff was exceptional—professional, caring, and very helpful—from booking and tours to check-out. The lodge is beautifully styled, cozy, and very comfortable. The highlight was the stunning view of the Remarkables; I couldn’t take my eyes off the starry sky through the window at night. Additionally, they offer a free chauffeur service to town once a day, which we used every night for dinner. It was incredibly convenient and made our evenings effortless. Overall, Azur Luxury Lodge offers a blend of comfort, style, unforgettable scenery, and thoughtful amenities. We highly recommend it for a memorable and scenic retreat.

Comfortable quiet couple villas set on a steep slope with great views, whirlpool tub, double sinks, heated floors, strong water pressure, plush bed with excellent privacy 5 mins drive to Queenstown in the right direction to avoid traffic congestion Distinguishing factor: Particularly excellent service and great unobtrusive housekeeping I would like to especially commend Nadi for her excellent service and coffee making skills Great varied breakfast - both buffet and ala carte Able to help with Uber Eats delivery, reheat the food and deliver piping hot with proper cutlery Tips: For one of the best walks in the nearby area - head to Moke Lake for beautiful reflections in a still lake and super friendly ducks (bring duck food!) note: bring sun protection or even an umbrella as most of the walk is not shaded. Another v strong contender for best easy walk would be the walk around Lake Hayes. Much better than Glenorchy or Lake Wanaka Also highly recommend The Bunker for excellent food & highly recommend their Brussel Sprouts Best activity - over the top helicopter full day excursion ride

Visitors rave about their time at the spa, often highlighting the chic and clean facilities along with friendly staff who provide thorough introductions to the floating process.
We were definitely looking forward to trying out a float tank as part of our Queenstown trip and we loved it! The whole experience was worth it. Found a great deal on Bookme. The facilities are awesome - clean, chic interior, and other great offerings. Friendly staff member (Patrick) did a great job showing us around and explaining everything we needed to know. We loved spending time in the relaxation room after our floats and enjoyed the lemon-salt shot and some peppermint tea to help rehydrate. You definitely feel super relaxed coming out of the pod. I would definitely do this again and highly recommend!

I didnt know what to expect. I had heard about these capsule experiences.. it was quite unusual. Being left in the dark alone floating. It was quite a surreal experience. The prefloat and post float service added to the experience as a whole. I would definitely recommend SALT float spa

an amazing experience right from the start. while you are waiting for your massage you get dressed into a gown and sit in a dark quiet relaxing room with a range of beverage options. when its time for your massage they come and get you and take you away to a very relaxing private room. the staff had good communication and where very good at their massages targeting the areas you ask for. It was over to soon, would recommend and would go again

Fantastic experience & service. Wasn't sure what to expect as we'd never done anything like this before. Everything was explained clearly to us. We had a welcome introduction, lovely float & enjoyed the relaxation room afterwards. I did feel I got cold near the end of the float probably because I didn't fully close the capsule but the lady was lovely & said if I was to come back they'd make sure the water was slightly warmer. Feel like I've had great nights sleep ever since! Will be back & definitely recommend the experience to others :-)

I don't normally write a review but I definitely have to for SALT as I had the best experience in my life. I cannot find is the best word to describe my experience as THIS IS SO GOOD AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Staffs are friendly. The whole atmosphere in SALT made me feel relax, everything is nice and clean. Your own room, own shower and own spa. The floating is amazing as you won't be able to feel any weight, I haven't been that relax for so long and I totally in love with the spa. A massage after spa is the best combination. Can't stop recommending this to my friend after the experience and I will definitely come back again.
Angel — Google review
Had the 60min massage by Juliana, it was divine. She took the time before starting to ask about what I needed, the strength I preferred, and continued to check if the pressure she was using was fine with me even after starting the massage. The massage bed was heated with an electric blanket, music was relaxing and perfect, and the blankets and towels were very comfortable. I prefer deep pressure with lots of strength, and Juliana provided that up to a level that was effective but not unbearably painful (unlike the numerous massages I’ve had in south east Asia). At certain trigger points she exerted more focus and pressure, to loosen the knots and I could feel the tingles when she did. I brought a body full of tension and knots in my shoulders and upper back and glutes, and although it wasn’t fully worked through (I didn’t expect them to be either since those accumulated through many many years), I definitely feel a difference after the massage ended. If you need to use the shower after the massage you gotta book that in, I didn’t know that but she allowed me to use it real quick after the session to rinse off the massage oil. They were gracious about it too. I would go back again (:

The Spa at Nugget Point Hotel offers a serene and inviting atmosphere, with beautiful and calming surroundings. Guests have praised the amazing experience of the private hot tub and pool, as well as the steam room, sauna, and marble bath. The spa's Roman bath inspired architecture provides an astonishingly stunning view of the Shotover River. Visitors have also highlighted the excellent service provided by attentive staff members.
My friend surprised me with this accommodation for my birthday trip and i was absolutely awestruck to say the least! Very much to my taste! Everything was amazing and the hotel is so charming with a homely atmosphere and beautiful architecture and antique inspired furnishings which i adored. Our room and the view was dreamy! Facilities and service were great! Nobody got in our way but were available when needed. We got to enjoy the gorgeous pool to ourselves as it wasn't busy. We only stayed 1 night which did not give us enough time to appreciate some things like the cute little library and the squah and the dining was closed during our stay which hopefully will be open the next time we visit. Breakfast was lovely with a stunning view and friendly service. We left with heavy hearts. Will be reserving at least 2 or more nights next time so i can spend more time in and i absolutely cannot wait to revisit this iconic hotel!

I was impressed with the room's interior and design. It felt very comfortable and luxurious, like staying in a 5-star hotel room. Unfortunately, the steam room was under maintenance, which was a bit disappointing. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of town, but it's not far from Queenstown Airport. I would book it again for a peaceful stay.

We didn’t stay here but had the one hour out door spa and one hour massage experience. The view from both the spa and the massage room was breathtaking. Staff were lovely and helpful. Great massage skill. Only thing I’d recommend would be maybe provide a bath robe for between spa and massage room.

We had a fabulous night in the river view room. The view was spectacular. The bed was comfy and pool and sauna was very relaxing. The outdoor hot tub also had great views and would be fantastic on a cold winter day or night. Viceroy provided excellent customer service. He went above and beyond to make our stay extra special and we would definitely stay here again thanks to him :)

Very run down hotel. Wonderful views and location but so rundown and many things out of order! Sauna closed, don’t use the bath because hot water is being upgraded, no chef for the restaurant so it’s closed too. Taps loose as a goose, door hinges falling off kitchen. Can hear the tv and people next door. Poor upkeep makes it feel old and unclean, maybe because it is. Shame given it must have been grand once. Skip this one. Beautiful location if you find another place nearby with the views. The Hilton is a better choice on the lake.

It was a good relaxation stop after some adventuring activities. If you are using the public spa note it is actually a pool and sauna, with no jets of water nor a dedicated cold soak. With that said, for $25 for a 2 hour session it is reasonable. The interior is lined with limestone and marble fittings and the water pour shower in the cold setting makes for a great reset after a sauna session.

Such a stunning location and at a very affordable price (at least when we got it). A bit old fashioned but it adds to the charm and you really can’t beat the view. The pool is great and they also have their own masseuses and outdoor spa. The dinner we had there was also one of the best meals we had while in Queenstown.

We made a last minute bookme voucher booking and we don’t regret it! We got access to the spa and had a couples massage. The entire experience was professional, extremely relaxing and enjoyable. The massages were fantastic, and we stuck around for another hour or so to make use of the sauna, pool and hot tub. For the discounted price ($150 for two), we thought that was good value.

The "soak and stay" package provides a relaxing spa experience, complemented by excellent rooms and complimentary wine tasting. Nestled among the vines, guests can enjoy little treats and unwind in hot tubs or baths. The immaculate grounds also feature RV spots for those seeking simplicity and beauty in their stay.
Absolutely beautiful experience! Booked a silo spa and it was truly magical. I was early and they accommodated me and got my spa ready early. Everything about the experience was truly magical and I can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend to anyone in the Cromwell/Clyde area to book yourself a spa experience. Couldn’t fault anything at all

Great place to stay - is very peaceful and quiet in a nice setting on a powered site. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. We had a self contained van so had everything we needed and there is access to a toilet to which is a nice extra. However the toilet is locked until 12pm and again at 9pm. I couldn’t work out the reason for this. It seemed unnecessary but if open would offer a little bit of home comfort for your guests. I know I would appreciate a toilet in the mornings. Enjoyed the wine tasting and wine we bought to takeaway! Thanks.

My partner and I did the silo spa, it was so lovely. The silo spa was nice and clean, water was warm. The owner was really nice and helpful. We would definitely love to visit again. Reasonably priced and a delicious selection of treats

We stayed at River Rock Estate about 3 weeks ago and absolutely adored it. The cottages are situated right in a working vineyard, so not only do you get to wake up and see the mountains but also rows and rows of grapes. I highly recommend doing the tasting at 5 with Jan-Marie on at least one of your nights. The stories about how the wine / wine labels came to be are fun and the wine is incredible. We took a bottle all the way home to the states in our suitcase because we knew we couldn't get it anywhere else. It was that good. River Rock Estate is also close to other wineries and hiking trails. Devil's Creek Track is ~15 min away. There is also a 50K+ biking trail that winds through Cromwell and Bannockburn about 10 min away.

We did the 90 minute outdoor hot tub package and thoroughly enjoyed it. The estate is absolutely beautiful. The staff are lovely. We chose a beautiful bottle of their 2019 Pinot noir red to enjoy while we soaked in the tub, which we enjoyed with some snacks and chocolates. It was a perfect winter date night. We will be back!

We got the spa pool as a present and loved it. What a gorgeous and very well thought experience. The owners are the loveliest people! I would 100% recommend and go again, beautiful way to relax and reconnect!

Our second time back to River Rock. First time we stayed in the well appointed beautiful accommodation and did the two hot tubs side by side. Second visit we’ve done the silo/hot tub option. Absolutely wonderful, very relaxing and private. Beautiful bottle of Savignon Blanc with some cheese n crackers and Lindt chocs. Very welcoming. Will definitely be back. Recommend to all for a “me/us treat”.

June 20 2025 My friends and I traveled from Queenstown to Cromwell for what we hoped would be a relaxing day at River Rock Spa. We arrived around 20–30 minutes early to make sure we had enough time to find the place, as none of us were familiar with the area. We parked carefully and waited outside, just trying to be respectful. One of my friends needed to use the bathroom, and since we were paying customers, he went to where the customer bathroom was. That’s when things started to feel really uncomfortable. One of the owners immediately confronted us, asking why we were there. I explained politely that we had a booking, but instead of welcoming us, he told us to go find somewhere else to wait and said we weren’t allowed to hang around the area, even though we weren’t causing any disturbance. We were genuinely shocked at how rude and dismissive he was. The way he spoke to us felt unnecessarily harsh, arrogant, and honestly, a bit racially charged. We didn’t feel welcomed at all. Later, when he was explaining the spa pool instructions, he made an odd comment about how expensive the tub was and said something like, “You don’t want to pay $35,000 NZD.” We felt that was completely irrelevant to the safety briefing and pretty awkward. It felt more like a warning not to damage anything rather than a professional explanation. The entire experience left us feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. For a place that promotes peace and relaxation, we felt anything but. Definitely wouldn’t recommend, especially if you value being treated with basic respect.

Nestled at the tip of New Zealand's South Island, Bay of Many Coves Resort offers a secluded and luxurious retreat accessible only by water taxi or helicopter. The resort features elegant apartments and posh suites overlooking the glistening bay, along with an outdoor pool, day spa, hot tub, and complimentary water activities like kayaking and paddle-boarding.
Flew in and out for a special lunch. What an outstanding location and Resort. Mark and the Team made us feel very welcome. The whole experience was wonderful along with the food, drink and overall service. Thanks Team we will be back to stay.

We stayed at this beautiful location with a fantastic view from our apartment. We arrived here by water taxi and sailed for about an hour from Picton. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member, shown around, and given our apartment. We thought the apartment was nicely decorated, but the entire resort is starting to need maintenance. It’s in no way a 5-star experience. The food at their evening restaurant was nothing special – definitely not close to 5 stars. The food was very average and really expensive for the quality. The pictures on social media are highly misleading and don’t reflect what we experienced. It’s not something we would recommend to others. The waiters also didn’t seem to be properly trained, more like young people working to fund their travels in New Zealand. While that’s fine, it’s just not what you’d expect from a restaurant that describes itself as 5-star. So, the food didn’t meet our expectations. The breakfast buffet was never replenished and often had nearly empty trays. You’d have to be there early to have more options. However, the egg dishes that were ordered were good. The coffee was definitely a highlight of the breakfast. In-room dining was very limited and didn’t meet the expected standard for what this resort is trying to present itself as. Actually, we would suggest that guests buy groceries before arriving for a light lunch, as there are utensils and plates in the apartment. We didn’t know this until we had already sailed there and had no alternatives. Our overall feeling after staying at the resort for 3 nights is that they lack quality given their excessively high prices. On our trip to New Zealand, we’ve experienced much higher quality for significantly less money than what we got at this resort.

We came for a winter break in September. We adored the resort in every way. The food was amazing and views from our room breathtaking. We loved the native trees and bird life immediately surrounding the resort and enjoyed the walking/hiking and Eko tour. It’s a blissful time of year to travel and stay at Bay of Many Coves. We were looked after superbly!

This is a very special place. The long water taxi ride from Picton changes the channel effectively - you disembark into a small, remote outpost of civilization not reachable by road, and far from ordinary life. Very comfortable apartments, good resort dining, with hiking and kayaking available if you're motivated. Totally unpretentious - the best sort of rustic wilderness luxury.

We had an outstanding experience here. We stayed for two nights as our honeymoon. The location is quite simply incredible. The apartments all feel very private whilst at the same time giving you expansive views of the bay. We paddled with SUPs and kayaks both mornings with the dolphins. The small occupancy and expansive grounds means the resort does not feel commercial at all. The food is very good, especially given the remote location. We thought that overall this offered reasonable value, and would love to come back one day.

Stayed in one of the larger villas. Views and location obviously incredible. Service and quality of dinner pedestrian at best considering prices. Breakfast excellent however. Very good coffee and wine selections. Overall lots left to be desired at this price point.
Mike M — Google review
We stayed at this beautiful spot to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so it was a very special occasion for us. We found that the quickest and easiest way to get there was by helicopter from the airport, although ferries also come here daily couple of times. We loved the room, although it was a bit dusty in places and some of the fixtures were 'tired'. The staff were super-friendly and the lady duty manager (sorry i forgot her name) was extra attentive, which made us feel very special. We also did not cross paths with too many other guests, which made our stay feel exclusive and romantic. Food was good, but expensive degustation dinner was underwhelming, with couple of items not cooked to its best. Breakfasts and lunches were fabulous. I would say that overall this resort is pricy for what you are getting. Would we come back again? Not sure.
Robbie L — Google review
We had such high expectations for this resort as our booking agent (Audley) had convinced us it was the place to go. Maybe it was once. It is a truly picturesque location but the resort feels worn. The room we had was ok but we expected far, far more for the price. The decor is dated, our sink was cracked, the fruit plate was old (the peach had mould on it). A ventilation fan for the kitchen seems to run until the early hours so it’s not quite as serene as we expected. The food was ok, but unremarkable. Neither my wife or I could eat the eggs for breakfast as they were bland and swimming in oil. The tasting menu was uncreative, bland, tiny portions and generally over cooked. The place feels set up to maximise customer spend, not to make guests feel really special, as the price implies (it takes 30 mins to get there by water taxi) It’s a shame because it’s an incredible location. The staff seemed indifferent to us (for example, we had to ask for cushions for the outdoor furniture and no one took the time to show us around the resort). To be fair, the weather was poor while we were here and that probably meant I focused on the resort more than I would have had the sun shone. So I’d say there are probably better places to spend your time and money. This place needs serious TLC, far more high end touches, better leadership and more investment.

Nestled in the mountains of Queenstown, Hot Tub on the Hillside offers a secluded and private experience with stunning views of a small lake. Unlike other hot pools that may be crowded, this hidden gem provides a singular hot tub for private bookings. Guests praise the helpfulness of John, who provides detailed responses to inquiries. Amenities such as towels, drinkware, a Bluetooth music player, and umbrella hats are provided upon confirmation of booking.
10/10 would recommend! John was very accommodating.. my sister had a flight mishap and couldn’t make it for an extra few days. John was very accommodating and adaptable. The communication was excellent. Most importantly the hot tub and scenery itself was one of our highlights. The views were impeccable and watching the colours change on the mountains during dusk was unreal. Thank you for an amazing experience 💫

Such a incredible experience!! My partner surprised me with the hot tub on the hillside after proposing. At first I was quite unsure where I was headed but once we arrived to the little cabin and made our way along the hill I was just in awe! Such a tranquil place. The instructions given were easy to follow. Next time we would have brought a cute picnic and some bubbles but it was the perfect spot to relax and take in the day. The cabin was wonderful! It included robes, a change area (with charging ports and a bathroom. No need to worry when arriving 🙌🏻 it’s prepped for you!!! I would highly recommend to couples, friends or even family. Definitely add this to your list to book (and book early!)

Absolutely recommend, we had such a great experience at Hot Tub on the Hillside. John was very helpful and communicative when I first reached out with a couple of questions, and sent detailed info prior to our arrival. We had the hill top tub and the details were well thought out, such a great way to spend the afternoon!

This has definitely got to be one of the most relaxing and peaceful experiences of my life. Honestly the most perfect place to unwind and just loose yourself in the beauty of nature around you. My wife and I absolutely loved it at the cliffside tub, I cannot recommend this enough, if you are in Queenstown 110% recommend to do this . Also for what you pay for and the time you get at the tub is amazing! (I preferred this over the other hot springs/pools in the area) 😁👍

Definitely one for the books.. Bucket list ticked! John is so helpful answering all my queries, quick and detailed reply. I was hesitant to book knowing the weather forecast prior was raining.. Then few days to confirmation, it was cloudy with rain showers so I decided to give it a go. Then today, beautiful and sunny weather. Amazing! Directions will only be provided once bookings are secured and payment is confirmed. Towels, water, drink wares, and bluetooth music player, umbrella hats are provided. Has good 4G signal which lets you upload real time photos. Thank you John for the experience, this place is amazing, peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended when you are in Queenstown!
