Museum
Amusement center
Bjarke Ingels-designed museum in a converted WWII bunker with immersive regional history exhibits.
Slide 1 of 8
I was really impressed by the museum and experience. The engineering of the German bunkers was astounding and very impressive. There was a temporary exhibit that covered clearing the mines from the Danish Coast using German Soldiers after WW2. I found it informative about a piece of history that probably gets overlooked. There is a cafe and small gift store as well and the offer group discounts for parties over 10.
a fantastic way to present a piece of danish history. fascinating to come down under and inside the bunker and be presented with the structure and the history behind it. their audio guide system works better than any place i have been in the world. a museum that should be visited. they have a café connected to the museum which serves a wonderful contado
♿ Entrance = Yes ♿ Parking = Yes ♿ Building = Yes ♿ Elevator = medium / long size This museum will bring you back to the history of world war 2. Please do keep in mind that this place can be really busy with families. The entry is a bit strange for a museum. As the entrance, exit, cafe, exhibition entry and ticket area are all in one little place / room together and I'm talking about the size of a medium room. They will give you an audio device to use throughout the museum. It could be an English or danish one. The audio device can be used on some interactable by pointing at it and it will tell a history part about it. Mobile data can be poor inside of the building. For most part wheelchair users can ride through the hallways and experience most if not all of it. I'll recommend to be here early so you will have more than enough time to see things. If you are interested in the world war 2 history, this will be the place for you.
Very modern & interesting museum with a great way of telling gripping personal stories about a dark time in German & Danish history. Great for kids too, as they can enter their own wayback machine rallye, age-appropriate & without gruesome details. Also, you can learn a lot about life on the west coast through the ages. Great job!
We have been there in autumn vacation time and arrived around half an hour after they opened. We could directly get an audio guide, but when we left around 12:00 there was longer queue at the entrance. Interesting exhibition also one on the history of the costal area.
As a bunker geek, this was to be the highlight of my trip, and it didn't dissapoint. The architecture of the whole place was stunning. The experience of approaching the museum from the car park is brilliant. Bunker exhibit - just perfect. It's been left almost untouched, to the point it SMELLS like it should. the lighting is spot on. The audio guide is brilliant and is brief at each station. The 4D experience room is fantastic (every half hour). It has only left us wanting more! The 'gold' (amber) exhibit was also fantastic and inspired us to go to the beach to look for amber! The concrete army exhibit was also fantastic, well laid out, just the right level of info. WCs are clean and beautifully designed to fit the building (metal walls, brass 'industrial' taps etc. Easily worth the money, and would highly recommend. Bonus: It's worth the 400m walk north across the dunes to find the other bunker which hasn't been restored. Take a phone with maps on it tho....
What a well done museum! We were lucky enough to experience this with someone who was alive and lived in Varde in the 1940’s and 1950’s. She was thrilled to be at Tirpitz and said it was the highlight of her trip.
Nice experience the trip will be more enjoyable, if you have a headset with mini jack, as there is a lot of stories
Blåvand Zoo

Zoo

Quaint, modest zoo with hundreds of animals & interactive opportunities like feedings & pony rides.
Slide 1 of 8
A very nice place to visit. A lot of different animals to see, from “usual” animals like goats and pigs to more exotic ones like camels and llamas 😊 It’s family friendly and dogs are allowed to come in as well. I can definitely recommend this place to families and animal lovers regardless their age.
This zoo is great. Here you can see many different animals. All animals are well cared and the enclosures are also clean and good looking. It's a nice big zoo to visite with the entire Family.
Quite ok for a couple of hours, but we have been in better zoos, the cages seem to be quite small. There are many places for picnic, playgrounds for children and Boolerwagen and balance bikes free for use.
Nice Zoo where you can get close to the animals. Some areas are under construction and some still need some refurbishment. Couple of playgrounds for kids, small shop and restaurant. Support the zoo with your visit.
It's a nice place to experience a bit of what's to see around the world. You can go in some enclosures and see the animals up close. There's also the possibility to ride a small horse or a pony for the kids, so they will have an awesome time for sure!
Much better than expected! Some of the cages allow for visitors to go inside. The general design is for visitors to get really close to the animals. Even the camels can be hand fed with carrots, Even for kids that dont care about animals, this is the best place in Blavand when it comes to playgrounds. There are many and all very different. One is inside. For toddlers there are free balance bikes and for slighly older kids they offer pony rides (not sure if that is for free). I would rename this zoo to something like 'Playworld and Zoo'. Oh and as far as I could tell, families can eat their own brought food at the many picknick places. Also: we went home for lunch and were allowed back in later in the day (without paying again).
Actually, a beautifully designed zoo with many animals that you come very close, the petting zoo and playgrounds are great for the kids. Still, I found it oppressive to see the monkeys locked up in their cages, and somehow I felt sorry for them being gawked by so many people on a daily basis, I think they are getting more than we imagine. In addition, it was disgusting in the monkey house, no idea how the monkeys withstand this for longer.
Could be better. 20€ for each person is too much for what you get. The lions are far away from you and if you are not there at the feeding time it is really disappointing. Also the cages behind the entrance are really small for the animals. :(

A great place for walking doggos on the beach.
Nice place to spend some days in summer. The town center offers a variety of small but well equipped shops.

I was there at dawn... it was very quiet and very quiet... the lighthouse was super cool: great atmosphere Nice yours Take rubbish with you. (Translated by Google) We love being here in this beautiful place. Holiday home incredibly expensive but certainly appropriate. A day at Blavand Beach gives you strength for a year. At low tide you can swim out onto the sandbank and walk for miles into the North Sea.
(Translated by Google) I always thought there was no ugly place in Denmark. Yes, there is Blåvand!! A place that consists of countless shops, outlet centers, restaurants and an oversized beer garden. Crowds of tourists push through the main street every day. The wide beach cannot reconcile me. For me, Blåvand is a Danish Mallorca! Now for the third day in a row there is aircraft noise from the Danish Air Force all day long. Never again Blåvand!

A ticket costs 40kr. for adults and kids are free but honestly i think a lot of people doesn't pay because the ticket office is a bit away from the lighthouse and the day we visited there wasn't anyone to check if you had a ticket. The location and view is really nice.
An awesome historic place with many Bunker built during WW2 and a nice lighthouse. Unfortunatelly the westernmost point of Danmark is locatet in a military restricted area and can't be visited at all times.
We went on a very rainy and cold day but, we got a private tour because of it. The ring was very cool and the working farm with actors who tell you about the day to day life was truly amazing. Definitely worth the visit.
What a beautiful place! Gorgeous nature for hiking. You can see the Lighthouse from everywhere. Gentleman in the little shop was very friendly and helpfull.
Has a fantastic view and plenty of parking with beach access and plenty of trails.
I have climbed up many towers in the last 40 years of my life, but Blåvandshuk Fyr is something else. Amazing views into a stunning landscape. Just see my pictures and you will understand what I mean!
Blåvand Beach is so beautiful, it’ll make your jaw drop. You get to Blåvandshuk parking by driving through Blåvand out to the nearby iconic lighthouse. The view from the lighthouse is amazing. Please be careful if swimming, since the west coast is known for deceiving riptides. Never leave children unattended. The beach is a great location for social distancing, just resist the urge to shop in nearby Blåvand if you want to avoid people.
Breathtaking place! We really loved it, we experienced an amazing sunset view, nice and relaxing place, fresh air and great spot to be with your family and friends 😍

We tried the buffet and it was totally worth it. The food was great, as well as the atmosphere and the service. Highlights of the buffet was the meat selection, especially the roasted pork and the ribs.
the plump lady at the bar was very rude after I waited 1 hour to take my order... while I was at the bar waiting... she was talking to her friends... I politely asked if there was still beer available and was kicked out on the grounds that "she does what she wants, she's the boss in that store, I was disturbed by the conversation with her friends... I will also file many complaints with the consumer protection agency every day!!! not just me... at least 10 people... very bad!!!! get rid of the untrained employees!!!!!!!
My experience with Angelo was great, he was incredibly nice and I asked for a way to "reward" him he asked for a recommendation of the restaurant, great service, great beer, will definitely be visiting again.
Very good food, super service. So we thank angelo for er super nice experince.
I need to be honest: there are much more nicer places around. The food is average and we had to wait long to be served...
German themed beer garden, with various pub food options, like burgers, fish and chips, bbq ribs, schnitzel, kurrywurst, etc. The bbq ribs are very good.
Good food and good service. We really enjoyed eating here.
A great night with friends made special by our Spanish server, Angelo.
