Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Glass rainforest domes with adventure trails, rope bridges, waterfalls and free-roaming animals.
Slide 1 of 8
It's a really nice zoo with a lot to offer. First of all, be sure to be there early in the morning (10-15 minutes before opening). Otherwise, parking will be a serious problem. We arrived 20 minutes past the opening time, and the parking was about 60% full. They have some special storage rooms for small and big strollers, which is very useful. There are also small storage units for things like backpacks, jackets, etc, but they work with 2 kr. Coins, so don't waste any other type. If you don't bring coins along, you can still exchange money for some special coins to use at the gift shop. Be careful what you need to store and what you take, because you need to use again 2 kr. Coins, every time you open and close the locker. Nice inside restaurant, with a big area to sit, eat and relax. If you have some snacks or sandwiches from home, there is an outside area that you can use for that. There are small "games" you can play with your entourage, like every time you enter an area, you can try to find and identify all the animals. The tigers enclosure is next to the picnic area, so if you're lucky, you can enjoy your sandwich, while the tiger enjoys his meal. It's a really good place to spend your day in. That's about all the time you need to enjoy this zoo.
This zoo was beyond our expectations, it has several species of animals that one may not found in every other zoo. It is a tropical zoo with animals from Asia, Africa & South America and many of those are rarest animal species. It has really nice playgrounds and cafes too. One can easily spend 4-5 hours here.
Do you want a jungle adventure without breaking the bank, this place could be for you. 3 bio domes houses numerous fish, birds, insects and animals like monkeys, Sloth, Crocodile s and many other. We visited this place in start of June and had a great experience. Familys with children will have a splendid time here. After your adventure you can enjoy some food in the cafe or visit a shop with merchandise. I recommend this place for children in all ages and for all interested in biology and animals.
Generally good. But you can tell that the zoo is coming into its years. Way too crowed!! People are pushing through with their big kiddie bicycle trailers or huge prams. It’s also very loud even if signs are asking visitors to be quiet. Still kids are loving it and the new outdoor area is nice.
A must see if you are visiting the area! I was really surprised by the diversity of the ecosystems on display here. Each space was beautifully constructed and everything seemed natural and wild. There were a lot more animals here than I had expected. The info cards about each animal were a nice addition and I learned many new bits of trivia during the visit.
I love Randers Rainforest even though I live in Copenhagen I have now been there twice, this last time on my own so that I could take my time. I want to go again soon.
This is how a zoo should be! They way they build the zoo is briljant everything seems to be one. A little ledge zo the turtles dont run away but you can step in with them. A little house with a window with big cuddly cats, a cave with bats where they nearly hit you head, really cool! pro tip, if you have binoculairs bring them! To see the birds upclose is even cooler. Another tip, my pregnant wife needed a few times to sit. And everytime you do you wil discover new animals, so take your time. All signs have English on them and they have really smart signs with al the animals on them you might wanna take a photo of them zo you can cross off what you found, a little where is Waldo. We came around 13:00 and parking was really full, we had to wait til somebody left. We waited 5 minutes so not that long. We spend like 3 hours and took our time and had a little lunch. And we forget to see the animals outside… I saw that in the other reviews. Sometimes the signs on the doors are a bit demotivating, something Danisch stands on the door and it probable says you may not eat in there and pet animals but if you cannot read it it could also say dont go in here. Will come back!
Awesome place, animals get pretty close and live very well. 🙏👌Lots of outdoor space and playgrounds for kids to. ☀️💙

Well cooked food, small quantities, I must say that it is Denmark, it is not the south of Europe, culture, but they should be faster in the kitchen, very friendly staff, that is, waiters, it is a museum, conclusion Good experience
Very interesting visited the Jonny Cash museum too. A little expensive for what it’s worth.
It was an awesome thing to visit a replica of Graceland in Denmark. The inside was like a museum of collections the owner has acquired. It was a good visit and the restaurant was really good. We had lunch and enjoyed it a lot.
My partner booked this as a surprise for my birthday , we are staying for a week in Denmark and we both thought it was amazing! We were greeted by a lovely man called Mathias who was both friendly and informative, he also went out of his way to help us with one of the videos so we could watch in English. As a massive Elvis fan this is a must , so many gems in this collection , it’s just an Elvis Lovers dream. The enthusiasm and excitment Henrik has for Elvis is so nice to see , I really hope this place stays open for ever! We visited on a weekday around 10:30 we arrived and had the whole museum to ourselves! It was great to have that time to leisurely look at everything. We had food in the highway 51 diner too, it’s great if you eat meat as there’s a ton of options but as a vegetarian I found myself left with a few options , the veggie burger or the PB & J sandwich or the salads I think, it’s a great vibe but it would be nice to have some more varied vegetarian options too. However, food was hot and well seasoned which is really important! The gift shop was maybe lacking some more variety , there’s a ton of books, cd’s and vinyls but not much on merchandise front like t shirts, decorative items etc. There are lots of photos to be taken in and around the mansion, the Johnny cash museum and the tupelo house was really cool also and it’s nice to have Elvis music playing everywhere, even outside! 10/10 would recommend and if we ever come back to Denmark we will definitely be visiting again! Thank you to everyone as this is a really special place.
THE STUPENDOUS MEMPHIS MANSION. SUPERB IN EVERYWAY . I was there as a guest of Benny Ray who is great friends with Henrik and Gitte the owners. The food was spectacular. The atmosphere absolutely amazing. The staff were the best. Having worked at Planet Hollywood, London at the very beginning in 1993. And managed the Fulham Boulevard in 1985 . And having excellent training in Restaurants . You will remember this experience forever. I highly recommend this brilliant Museum of ELVIS MEMROBILLIA. The shop has LP's, CD's. Shirts which are of super high quality. Please when in Randers,Denmark go treat yourself. ELVIS LIVES! Derek Lyons
Fantastic Elvis vibe! Great American style diner w/ fantastic burgers and shakes! A stage outside for live music and a huge collection of Elvis memorabilia and gift shop! Best part is the non-stop Elvis music playing in the background ❤️❤️❤️ Excellent Hospitality!! Fantastic 😊
Cozy Elvis museum plus a bonus Johnny Cash exebition. There's also a nice American style diner. And it did look like many locals stopped by just for the food too.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The museum was also truly amazing not only because it is nearly identical to the original one but also because of the things you can see that Elvis has worn or used. I can also suggest the burgers at the restaurant👌

one of our favorite places here in Denmark for us. We visit it regularly and have a good restaurant too. The therapeutic effect of pool salt is very good💯
A little attraction of Mariager. Do not expect too much. Swimming pool is rather a my all but salt water experience paid off. There is also a salt related exhibition, a boutique, and picturesque caffe shop.
Quite a good experience particularly with opportunity to bath in Salt bath however could have been better with more consistent English translations. Video in main museum had subtitles in places but not all the time, video in salt mine exhibit had subtitles in English to show when video would play but then played whole video without subtitles. I get the impression from seat belts on seats this was designed to be an interactive experience but clearly wasn't working as that anymore. There were QR codes with links to videos on museum which were very good it just could have been a bit more consistent for the money.
Small and cozy place located in a very nice area. It was interesting to learn more about salt and take a salted bath 🙂 I liked the choice of salt in the gift shop as well.
Great museum. We really learned interesting things about salt, got to see how it is made (live demo) and could even swim in a pool with saturated salt water. This is great center, with a good shop to buy gifts in and very friendly employees.
Amazing place with lots of activities and beautiful views
Too expensive and everything is in Danish... The pool is cool, but looks extremely small! The layout is weird, it just doesn't know what it wants to be. So many ugly cinema chairs, a play corner for kids and much more in 20m2 while horribly put together... The salt mine itself isn't even a mine, it's a cheap horribly put together theme park ride that takes not even 5 minutes of your time. And everything is in control of 2 uninterested 14 year olds... Don't recommend going here at all.

Interesting collection, the pattern exhibition for sure isn’t for everyone. The last piece of exhibition, the evolution of danish design is beautiful, interesting and the chairs are extremely comfortable. You can for sure inspire yourself to design your own space. The cafe and inner garden are free to enter and amazing too.
Nice collection of tapestries, furniture and all things design. I likes that they incorporated many hands on activities through both for adults and children. Entrance fee is a bit high in comparison to other museums and the size of the collection
If you’re in Copenhagen and have even the slightest interest in design, the Designmuseum Danmark is well worth a stop; it’s located in the Frederiksstaden area (Bredgade 68) which makes it easy to combine with other sightseeing and a stroll through one of the more elegant parts of the city. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and on Thursdays it stays open a bit later until 8:00 pm; it’s closed on Mondays. Entry for adults is 140 DKK, for students/18–26 it’s 90 DKK, and children under 18 are free. The museum opened originally in the 1920s in this building (it’s housed in an 18th-century former hospital) and aims to showcase the brilliance of Danish design alongside international craft and applied art. Inside you’ll find beautifully crafted furniture, chairs, lighting, textiles, posters, even astonishing antiquities and royal dining wares; the Danish people really do know how to design things well. The museum also boasts a lovely café where you can take a break, and a gift shop filled with stylish design pieces and thoughtful souvenirs. If you want to see everything, plan on spending at least 1–2 hours; if you’re really keen on furniture, architecture or fashion the time will fly. Although I didn’t connect with absolutely every exhibit, I found the Danish chairs and furniture installations fascinating and the old royal memorabilia particularly interesting. If you're studying design, architecture or fashion this place will likely delight you. All in all, I found it a quietly inspiring afternoon and a very nice change of pace during our Copenhagen trip. If visiting the city, definitely check it out.
From the very beginning, it feels like this design museum isn't well presenting things. Yes, objects are displayed and you can look at them (and read a small description) however I was expecting to have more explanation why this design has been chosen by the artist and from where it came from (what was the inspiration, what this specific item inspired other items) etc. This is my experience from other design museums - much more details regards the background of the object at which I'm looking at. An example of miss opportunity is a hall with chairs: really interesting but at the same time too many items, not much description and me, as a visitor, looking at them without any additional context. I have seen many chairs which I was interested however there wasn't much information about them. It ended up "just" as a hall with chairs. Too much but at the same time too little. Same thing with rooms with objects from 60-70s and 90s Rooms with 60-70s: why those objects have been there? Why that design looks in this way? What was the inspiration? You will not get it from this museum. I was expecting something much more interesting and inspiring but so far that design museum was the worst one which I ever seen.
As a design lover or furniture lover, put this museum on the top of your list. Wonderful collection with lots of history. Amazing gift shop as well full of amazing Danish designed products, I bought a wool blanket that is amazing.
Amazing visit if you’re interested in interior design, furniture and art. The chair hallway was so beautifully presented, definitely my favorite part. Museum shop has lots of great gift ideas.
What a fantastic way to learn about the history of Danish Design and the birth of the movement called ‘mid century modern’. Close to a Metro station, and easy to get to, Designmuseum Denmark is a riot of sight and sound. No matter your interest - furniture, consumer goods, architecture, fabrics - and more - something for everyone here! The temporary exhibits are well executed also. Throughout the museum, there are places to listen to audio through your devices (bring ear buds, or headphones). The café offers well prepared, good tasting meals, so you do not have to leave hungry. The library is open for all, and has books on all aspects of the world of design - the gardens offer quiet contemplation, perhaps with a book purchased from the well-stocked gift store. A very satisfying time, no matter your interest!
Nice exhibition and interesting details could be found in this museum. You can also buy souveniers and enjoy the well maintained garden area behind the museum. Tickets could be cheaper. I recommend you to visit this place if you are nearby.
