Absolutely stunning. Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is one of the most beautiful and memorable places to visit on the French Riviera. If you’re anywhere near Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, make the time to go.
The villa was built in the early 1900s by Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild. It’s filled with antiques, artwork, and rare porcelain, but the real highlight is outside. The gardens are on another level. There are nine of them, each with a different theme.
The French garden has a beautiful fountains.
The gardens are serene and beautifully designed. Every turn feels like a new discovery.
What makes it even more special is the view. On one side, you see the Bay of Villefranche. On the other, the Bay of Beaulieu. You feel surrounded by water and sky, with the gardens stretching out in front of you.
The villa itself is very well preserved. You get a strong sense of the baroness’s personality and taste. The audio guide is included with admission and adds just the right amount of detail without feeling too long.
Plan to spend at least an hour and a half here. There’s also a café if you want to stop for a drink or a light bite. If you’re driving, try to arrive early since parking is limited. You can also get here easily by bus or taxi from nearby towns like Nice or Monaco.
Whether you’re into history, architecture, gardens, or just beautiful places, this is worth every minute.
