The breakfast buffet catered to my celiac disease and the setting was lovely. The location was also perfect and within walking distance of all major attractions. We were put into a two story room that was completely brown. Very unappealing. To make matters worse, the hotel key needed to be placed in the slot by the door downstairs for the lights to work. On one occasion, I forgot something, went into the room and ran upstairs only to have the lights shut off right when I got to the top. I realized my mistake right when I heard the click of the lights shutting off. There was no location to insert the room card upstairs, so I had to crawl down the stairs to make sure I did not fall because there was no light. The brown did not help with how dark the room was overall. This would be extremely dangerous for older guests or individuals with mobility issues. The hotel also provides breakfast, but does not keep food covered. We noticed flies on the meat and cheese after eating and my husband ended up feeling ill and throwing up not long after breakfast. We did appreciate restaurant recommendations and the fact the hotel provides a complimentary boat ride to Murano.

Then had to do a bag drag over two bridges before getting to the hotel. We chose this hotel for each proximity to the train station, which was across the street. The area was not as busy as the more touristy parts of the city and at no time did we feel unsafe, even when wandering through the residential parts of the city. The hotel service was excellent. I had almost 24 hours of travel getting there, so I was a little apprehensive that I would spend a lot of time wandering in the dark to find my Hotel. Not at all! They provided directions in advance which allowed me to locate them within minutes. The location is absolutely ideal.. Lots to do in the area, but away from the long walk and crowded alleys of St. Mark's Square. The view was amazing. There was beautiful seating outside facing the canal and the staff were fantastic in allowing you to sit there, as well as bringing out snacks! The rooms were very large and spacious (at least mine was) and had everything I could want. If there was one down side - there is only a single electrical outlet. And this was located by the desk, away from the bed. It took some creativity to keep all my gadgets charged. The hotel even took me to Murano by boat - at no charge. And it was a nice boat and on my schedule. I also was given a full bottle of Prosecco to enjoy while I watched the canal as the sun went down. I can't say enough about the service, location and quality of this location. I only left this morning, checked into a new modern hotel in Milan. But - I miss the cozy quality and service of Hotel Antiche Figure. I hope to be back with my husband. Grazie!

Venice is smaller than it looks and very walkable, we only had to walk 5min and were at the accademia bridge to go into San Marco (pictured is the view from the accademia bridge). Plus because it is in the dorsoduoro district it is a way better value for the room. The bathroom was AMAZING and all marble. The room was beautiful as well. The hotel was an old palazzo so there is art and history all around you (pictured). The terrace had a nice view of the water, breakfast was super easy (we just walked out to the terrace and ordered. when we checked in they told us what breakfast was included with our reservation). The staff were great! Easy to navigate the hotel and city with English. Our tour guides picked us up from the hotel lobby and walked us in to the rest of venice without issue.

Sitting outside overlooking the Grand Canal while enjoying wine, bubbles, cocktails, or even morning breakfast was something we enjoyed multiple times per day! Since we had never been to Venice we didn’t know how to get from the train station to this hotel, but a quick call with the concierge staff helped immensely!  They literally directed us via phone to exactly where to go, which private boat taxi stand to go to.  Once our boat pulled up, they were all waiting outside on the dock for us!  They helped us off the boat, welcomed us to the St Regis, and immediately took our luggage from the boat.  (FYI – Be sure to budget for these private taxis, they’re rather expen$ive!  This one from the train station was 88eu.  One from Burano to here is about 170eu, and one from here to the VCE airport is 160eu) A staff member took us straight to check-in, where a nice young lady immediately checked us in, providing all the necessary information we needed and then a butler took us to our room.  We had a partial Grand Canal view room, which was a slight upgrade from the basic room.  The butler reviewed the entire property with us prior to taking us to the room, such as showing us their bar, restaurant, patio, quiet room, etc.  She then took us to our room which was very nicely furnished.  The bathroom was amazing, spacious, and had heated floors!  The shower was huge, with a seat and large bath sheets in the shower area hanging on towel warmers.  The bed was very comfy and the linens were perfect. This property is located perfectly to see so much from it as well as be able to walk nearly anywhere on the island in about 20 minutes max.  Of course, they have their private large boat dock on the Grand Canal, where you can get a water taxi to take you anywhere you want also.  All the shopping you might want to do (Prada, Tiffany, Armani, etc) is a very quick few minutes walk away. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.  Their concierge service is 24x7 and they are a wealth of information.  They are busy, so fortunately there were always two at the counter, but plenty of others you could talk to if you had a question or a need.  The onsite restaurant and bar were excellent, and there are numerous other dining and drinking options within a short walking distance. This was an amazing experience, one we’ll definitely want to come back and enjoy again!

Can’t tell you how many people told me to stay here and not consider any other option and they were absolutely right! The location is amazing, the rooms are extremely roomy, comfortable, and private. And the butler service is on another level- starting from weeks before you arrive and throughout the entire stay. We booked a private water “taxi” from the airport to the hotel via our butler ahead of time and it was magical driving through the Grand Canal ahead of our arrival. I also asked for an assortment of fresh flowers and balloons to adorn the room to surprise my wife- they did not disappoint and I was shocked they didn’t charge more once I saw what I had paid for. As an important anecdote, my wife lost one of her rings on the transfer in and they did not quit until they found it. They took us to the hotel and told us not to worry- they found it and delivered it to the hotel the next day with a beautiful note. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such tenacious service with actual follow up from a hotel and their connections in my lifetime. Truly next level. Don’t hesitate to book this place.

The property sits in a beautiful calm island full of trees and and amenities, you won’t be bored easily and if do, Venice is just a quick 20min ride away. The spa is a must do. This room is adjacent to the rooftop bar which has a great view of Rialto Bridge. A gondolier station was also located at the entrance to the hotel. Having a walkway along the front of the hotel with canal-side restaurants was a bonus. Breakfast was very nice with great service and a wonderful selection of quality food items. The location is this hotel is also very central to most of Venice. This is particularly important because of all the “walking” and getting “lost” experiences. We took the water taxi from Marco Polo airport which took us directly to the hotel . It was one of the most memorable things to do in Venice. There is a nearby vaporetto station to the hotel (2 minute walk) should you decide to take the water bus to/from the airport or along the main canal. The staff are very attentive, polite and professional. For instance, we received a private message that notified us of an expected Rail strike (something that apparently happens regularly in Italy) that would affect us on the day of departure from the Venice train station. This review is long overdue for our amazing holiday at this beautiful hotel on the iconic Grand Canal back in late April 2025. Our stay got off to a spectacular start. We had arrived from Las Vegas in the late afternoon by private water taxi from the airport and entered the hotel through the Grand Canal entrance. Unlike a usual hotel where one goes to check-in at the front desk, we were asked to relax in the bar’s restaurant while our bags were whisked away and the check-in was completed by the helpful staff. While waiting, we were offered a welcome cocktail by Michel who came back with an iconic Aperol Spritz and a Rossini each with a fresh lemon foam. They were amazing and my wife will now only have the spritz if it’s made the way Michel made it. And that was just the beginning of our four night stay…the amuse-bouche so to speak. Everything else from there was equally spectacular including the room (we were graciously upgraded to a Deluxe room with a serene private terrace on the second floor), the amazing breakfasts, the helpful tips for restaurant reservations, and the amazing hotel-arranged private gondola ride direct from the hotel’s Grand Canal dock…what an unforgettable experience. This was mine and my wife’s first time in Venice as a couple and the Palazzina Grassi made every moment so special. From the exquisitely elegant Philippe Starck decor to the amazing food, central location and fantastic staff, it all made for a wonderful experience and one we hope to replicate in June of 2026 as we have booked a return trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary here. It is stunning and in a perfect location. It is tucked back in a quiet quaint area that is only 5-10 minute walk anywhere you want to go in the city. The staff! It was made all the more special by having our own roof terrace where we could see the boat activity on the lagoon and hear the noises of Venice, particularly with our first cup of morning tea and late evening, with all the lights twinkling. We were looked after very well, accommodation was very good and clean, the breakfast and service was first class. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The Concierge was particularly helpful as were the porters. The Concierge deserves a special mention, I wish I'd taken note of his name (sorry). The hotel is ideally placed for walking to St Marks Square, some lovely restaurants, exploring Venice and just far enough away from the main hustle and bustle. The hotel porters were there to greet us with a friendly smile, on arrival from our water taxi and during our trip when taxis were taken, seeing us on to the water taxi and helping us off when we returned, which was special and made us feel very welcome. We couldn't get the room to truly cool down and suspected it was master controlled. They also add a 5% gratuity to your bill that is "optional;" however, they add it first, and it's optional only to change it. It makes for an awkward conversation at checkout. If it's optional, don't add it automatically -- give the guest the chance to add one, if they want. Anything else feels gross. That aside, the room was beautiful with luxurious products in it. It was close enough to all of the places we would want to get to, but not in the thick of it. Perfect for if you eat a big dinner and want a 20 minute walk back to digest. This hotel had the best service ever! During check-in, they gave us a map and recommendations of where to go. The room was spacious and we had a cool upstairs in our room. The patio was a nice place to relax and the women at breakfast were so kind to us. They opened breakfast a little early so we could eat before we caught our next train. The only minor things that I could suggest for this place would be a ledge above the sink to put things since there isn't a lot of sink space and a full length mirror somewhere. Staff are absolutely fantastic. We engaged mostly with Tomas who was superb so a big 'shout out' to him. Breakfast also excellent. The only reason this gets 4 not 5 stars is because of the beds. They are rock solid and incredibly uncomfortable - we couldn't sleep the first night. It got to the point where the Wife considered going to sleep in the padded chair. We swapped rooms with the in-laws as they were in the Mini Palace where the bed was much softer and they usually don't mind hard beds. The hotel also added a topper to the hard bed which took the edge off but didn't help much apparently and even they struggled to sleep. The mattresses need to be changed in the main hotel - we overheard other guests at breakfast complaining about how hard they were and that they struggled to sleep. Sort that out and the hotel is an easy 5 stars.
