We hebben deze plek toevallig ontdekt toen we in Ramallah liepen, wat achteraf een onmisbare ervaring was. Het is een oud familiehuis in het oude stadscentrum dat nu geteisterd wordt door hoogbouw. Ramallah has been “modernising” a lot and when you’re in the city centre you can’t really find much heritage sites, however this place gives you a good sense of the original life styles in the old days.
The person running it is a volunteer who is of the 5th generation I believe that owns the house. It used to be a building shared by three families and their animals under the building. The structure of the building is kept the same but refurbished gently.
He is a great host and offered us drinks and full explanation of the site as well his other projects. He is an independent Palestinian that is stuck between the Settlement of the Israelis and the “power struggle” of the Palestinians which allegedly due to corruption.
The building has paintings and hand crafts for sale as memory which are beautiful and not too expensive.
His future plans are to build a cultural library on top of the building. Definitely worth seeing.

Absolutely my favorite place, i can sit in the garden and go to an activity later on, and the events are the most intellectual and cultural in Ramallah. Great place for pictures and for working or meetups. Quiet and peaceful environment. I love to take portraits there, landscapes and read a book or a write. Holding the history of Mahmoud Darwish, Khalil Sakinki and many great people who have been and wrote about the place. The architecture talks about it self! The floor. Everything about it. It is a modern and very well-kept museum, that tells the story of one of the most important people of Palestinian culture. Here you can find the poet's belongings, and some of his original manuscripts. There is an open air theatre and a beautiful garden here. This cultural place was designer by architect Jafaar Touqan, the son of the late Palestinian poet Ibrahim Touqan.
I really enjoyed this place. The Museum's suvenir shop is also worth a visit.

A must-see if you want to understand the Palestinian experience. The curators did an excellent job not only in selecting key points in Darwish's life and the Palestinian story, but they also made the space intimate and reverant at the same time. They play Simon Bitton's famous documentary about Darwish which is also great. Finally, the gift shop has a good selection of special items reasonably priced. I got 3 T-shirts, 2 mugs, 2 books, and a bracelet for $100.

The Ramallah Cultural Palace is a beautifully designed building that hosts a variety of local and international performances in its large, modern auditorium. With comfortable seating, great lighting and sound, it offers a fantastic experience for visitors. The venue also features a smaller event hall with about 200 seats where regular performances take place. Additionally, there is a beautiful fountain and garden area with a cafe where visitors can enjoy the nice weather. The palace is well-organized, clean, and has parking available.

I would say their online course was very helpful at that time, but when I moved to French-speaking country it turned out its only 40% of real level, so I had to repeat again. Our teacher was really good , but the secretary of the center is quite unresponsive , and you have to send the emails couple of times.

At the end when I asked for attendance certificate they refused to give to me until I finish the online training, which was mentioned as optional at the beginning.

Very explicative and necessary to understand the causes of this conflict. The next parts combines historical issues and the life of Yasser Arafat. I had a wonderful experience here from start to finish. The ladies at reception were friendly and helpful. The interactive map in the orientation room is SO COOL, and the artwork is a masterpiece. While I already knew a lot about the P-I conflict, I loved the way they laid out the history/timelines, and talked about how other countries played a role. The poems that are weaved in between artifacts and information add a whole other dimension. I also appreciated the narration of the section about the siege. The guide gave short and simple blurbs/facts about the layout and each room, so I understood exactly what I was looking at.
