First room was really well done with some absolutely beautiful rare classics from early 1900's to 1950's the rest of the museum after that that was still good filled with lots of trinkets and memorobolia but I found it was a bit thin on offerings after the first initial room. Well worth a visit however. Parking was quite expensive and had to go around the village a few times before I found it but the museum itself was easy to find. Definitely recommended to see but I would say if you're on a mission to view all motor museums it's one to see if you're close or passing through. You'll spend a good hour in the museum and for the £9.50 entrance fee I didn't feel shortchanged. If you're near it definitely visit but I wouldn't drive 4 hours to see it if that makes sense. Luckily I live an hour and 10 minutes and I'd say that was worth it.

It's a massive museum, however, somewhere nice to pop in and see if you're travelling through or staying nearby. The museum takes you on a mini journey back in time through many different collections of motoring items. Free parking just down the road, also near cafes and restaurants in a nice area if you choose to stay. I wouldn't really say it was for a young audience, more dependant on personal interests. I did get a bit cold walking around, i understand temperature may be important for the maintenance of items, but i would recommend a jumper or two for those wanting to visit. I also say the iconic Brum from childhood tv shows.

Great location right across from the stream that flows through town. Service was very good and only thing keeping it from being perfect is the very limited parking which is probably the same at most places in the area. Unfortunately we were however extremely disappointed with our stay due to the fact that despite it's title and description the Mousetrap Inn is NOT an Inn or a pub ....it is a restaurant! ... lovely food but if you are staying here as a guest you are completely stuffed as once you have eaten your meal you are then asked to vacate your table for the next cover...not normally a problem if you are in a pub or an 'Inn' but because ( with the exception of 2 bar stools at the tiny and extremely busy bar) there are absolutely no areas in which to rest/sit/drink/relax so you will be left with 2 choices ...go back to your room or walk into town to an actual pub ... maybe great on a warm summer evening but not in driving rain on a cold October night! We always choose pubs for our trips away We chose this venue based on the description on the website..we would never have stayed at a ' restaurant' with rooms which is what the mousetrap is..very misleading narrative on the website...it may have been a hostillery at one stage but now every square inch is dedicated to tables and set times for diners ...fine if dining is all you desire but no good if you need a home from home , it unfortunately ruined our one night stay in the Cotswolds!

It is 'chocolate box England' at its best and like stepping back in time to when these iconic English villages were completely un-spoilt. Every-where I went there was a scene I had to photo-graph with my phone it was so breath-taking and on a glorious Summer day, unforgettable! The pace of life relaxed me immediately and my best friend and I sat on a bench by the crystal-clear river that runs through Bourton-on-the-water watching little toddlers trying to walk with parents standing by, dogs excited and running in the water, children wading in-to the river to keep cool, loving couples reclining on each-other on the grass beside the gently flowing river and old couples walking slowly along holding hands. There is a very international and diverse group of people from all over the world enjoying this perfect Summer day in a perfect English oldy-worldly town with 18th century stone buildings lining the Main Street and flowers bursting with vibrant colour every-where you look and people relaxing in alfresco bars and restaurants every-one was relaxed, happy and it seemed that the stresses of modern-day life did not exist here at all. For me, Bourton-on-the-water is the 'beating heart' of the Cotswolds and essential to visit if you love quintessentially beautiful English villages but the whole of the Cotswolds is beckoning too. The staff at the Chester House Hotel were wonderful and made Suzanne and I feel so welcome and our room met every criteria for us both living with chronic health conditions. The Hotel has an ambience of friendliness, homeliness and comfort about it which we enjoyed so much and the food in the restaurant was of the highest standards and very delicious. We loved relaxing in the garden after a day out and every single thing about the entire experience at the Hotel was 'perfect'; so-much-so that it was one of the best holidays I have ever had. Suzanne and I are determined to come back in 2027 but I have to save-up for that. We love the Cotswolds and there is so much more to do and see beyond Bourton-on-the-water so we will do that next time. The service The Chester House Hotel provided to us was impeccable and I am deeply grateful to all the staff for making our stay memorable!

We were offered tea/coffee and cake, both of which were very welcome after a long drive. The house is clean and homely, in a lovely setting 10 minutes walk from the village centre. I popped in today to look at the vintgae dresses. My disabled Mother, who has extrememly limited mobility, waited outside on her mobility scooter where the rail of tie dye dresses caught her eye. After I exited I showed her the dresses and she was keen to purchase one. She was unable to enter the shop as she can only walk a few steps and her scooter would not be able to cross the gravel path. I took the dress in and asked the lady (who appeared to be the owner or manager) if we could purchase the dress so my mum could try it on at home and bring it back if it didn't fit, I expalained mum was disabled we only live a couple of miles away. This request was met with an a blunt response with a refusal to offer a refund if it was returned if it didnt fit. The woman said to "bring her in to try it on" I exlained that she can't get across the gravel and in any case neither the shop or changing room seemed to be mobility scooter/disabled accessible. She continued to refuse. I suggested that her policy wasn't particularly accomodating of disabled customers and said that I wouln't be buying it for this reason and then unbeleively I was told that I was being rude! I think some lessons in compassion, empathy and equality are in order here. Sadly we wont be returning which is sad because both mum and I are both keen to support local businneses.

So peaceful in the evenings we enjoyed midnight walks and cava nights! Our break was taken post lockdown yet during the Covid pandemic and this cottage was spotless with appropriate measures to help make one forget ones troubles and enjoy a fabulous staycation. We are most definitely returning to the bountiful comforts of Bourton Croft our favoutite Cotswold retreat.
