The food and drink options are amazing, from vegan breakfast to a cheese-y afternoon tea they cater for almost everyone here. To say we are disappointed is an understatement, after paying 21.00 which included buying vinegar and 2 cans of drink , the only thing which was as advertised were the drinks ! The delivery charge was £1.90 (02/2024) which is reasonable but there is a minimum amount to spend before they'll deliver. This review is as a ‘walk in’ café customer not a hotel guest. Having a couple of hours to kill, I popped in for coffee & cake. About a month ago, my boyfriend and I were visiting from California and a friend of mine (who lives locally) took us to this place. I was blown away with absolutely everything. And I LOVED that for a lot of the dishes we could order half portions (so then we got to try more dishes). We were lucky to visit just before the 2nd lockdown. The food is exceptional, whether eating inside the pub or having a takeaway and I have to say they serve the best chips that I have ever tasted! Even with the quality of the food and the beautiful venue with roaring fires, the best part about this pub is the staff and the owners. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, valued and looked after us during our stay. We are already planning another trip to the village for next year and I can't wait to go back to the Castle Inn, it was one of the highlights of our break and definitely not one to be missed.

The best Indian takeaway we've ever had. Chilli chicken tikka and chicken tikka masala with mushroom rice, very tasty and looked great as well. The guy taking the orders was friendly and knowledgeable. The food didn't take long to come out. It was that good that we contemplated having it again before we went home but decided not to.They take cash and card. 5*
