We booked a table for 7.15 for 2 adults and 2 young children we where staying in the premier inn. We got there on time where shown to our table, we ordered our food at 7.30 along with drinks. It got to 8.15 my children where both hungry and had been causing a scene due to being hungry. A lovely waitress came and asked if we had our food yet to which I said no, she went to check on the progress but im guessing that she promoted them to start cooking it so we thought we would wait a little bit longer. It got to 8.30 and by this point my children where very unhappy tired and hungry so we decided to leave as I needed to get them feed and to bed. When we then asked for a refund the manager was very unhelpful he was arguing the toss about refunding our drinks, took a further 15 minutes arguing with him to actually be refunded for the whole bill. His argument was that we drank the drinks. However if we had been told there would be an hour + wait we wouldn't have even ordered drinks we would have gone elsewhere. After arguing back and forth for 15 minutes he eventually refunded the bill in full. We have then gone to get food elsewhere where in the time it took us to get over the road my youngest has fallen asleep on an empty belly which really bothers me. In all it was just terrible service other than the waitress. We should have been made aware the wait would be as long as it was, then we should have been given a refund without have to argue for one. I feel a more experienced and compassionate person should be managing a place like this not someone who argues over 2 drinks keeping my children waiting even longer for food and getting to bed.

If you are staying at the premier inn you should really be able to get a table as this is the only place to eat a meal or you should be advised to book early. We reserved a table, and when we arrived, we gave our name and was seated straight away. The server was very helpful and couldn't do enough to make our visit a pleasant one. The food was very good and to a high standard. The cocktails were absolutely delicious! The restraunt felt very cosy and comfy and was very child friendly. Small car park, free parking. The menu was good and they also had a specials board. I ordered Turkey Madras from specials board it came with rice, poppadoms and mango chutney and was really delicious it cost £16.00 My husband ordered Steak baguette which had chimmichurri sauce covered in cheese and was on a bed of chips and also had salad all for £14.95. When they brought it out it was massive, he said it was lovely and steak very tender. Chips very tasty. We ate in and then went back for a takeaway it was that good. Large selection of cakes gluten-free and vegan. Large selection of sandwiches and sandwiche styles. Beautiful jacket potato. There was tables available on our arrival, however; if its busy the owner will take your number and call you as soon as one becomes vacant, which is a brilliant idea. The staff were all friendly and offered top service. The food was delicious and was served in a very good time frame. I had the traditional cream tea with scones, these were beautiful and warm, fresh and full of raisins. My husband had the cheese and bacon on toast. This was a huge portion with chunky bread, large rashers of bacon, tasty cheese on a large bed of fresh salad. Cute little cafe with sweet decor. The seafood platter was absolutely fantastic – fresh, full of flavour and really generous in portion. You could tell everything was top quality and so well prepared. However, as we were sitting enjoying more drinks, we were asked to move because the table that we were sat at had been booked for 10 minutes time for another group to eat. We had a couple more drinks & thought that we would stay for the live music. However, they same bar lady came & told us that a booking had just come in & we would have to move again. 1 minute later a man, came up & in a not very nice way, demanded that we move as the other people were already in the bar area, whilst we were getting our bits together he was clearing the table, essentially shoving us out. The pub was, by this time quite busy, but they did not try to find us somewhere else to sit, therefore, instead of having a nice evening spending money over the bar & enjoining the live music, we left, quite upset (in an angry way, not crying) about the way in which we were treated. I feel that they should have told the booking people that they were full or had at least been nice about it & tried to find us somewhere else to sit. We we're visitors to Appledore & we will visit again, but I don't think that we will be visiting The Beaver Inn again! Such a shame for our last evening of an otherwise fab stay.

The place was very busy, and you can order via self-serve kiosk thing. We picked what we wanted and the kiosk was fairly easy to use (we couldn't find the curry sauce until we realised you could swipe up to move screen!) We also then had to go to counter anyway as the receipt didn't appear to give our order number! We had a few minutes wait, but this wasn't surprising considering how busy it was. It's a small area with a covered area outside and some benches on other side of the road. There is also a big green on other side of the road so if it's a nice day you could just sit and eat there! We had a large cod, chips and peas meal deal, a kids fish cake meal and a small cod and chips. All the food was cooked well, the fish wasn't overly battered, the chips had a good mix of having the little crunchy bits at bottom that I like - and all of it was well covered in salt and vinegar! We would certainly visit again if the desire for fish and chips is high!

Arrived at Bideford bay for a week's holiday. The Bell had been recommended to us - and rightly so. 2 adults and a dog were welcomed by very friendly staff (sometimes when a 'new face' enters a local pub you feel a little uncomfortable - but this was definitely not the case). The menu was varied, with plenty of options to suit all tastes - even better was the fact that everything was home made - a rarity these days. The food took a while, but who cares when you get this sort of quality (and you are 'chillin' on holiday). My wife had the home made chicken and ham pie, I opted for the cod loin - both were superb. We never usually have a pudding, but felt it would be rude not to try 😂. Again, the summer pudding and chocolate brownie were both amazing. We will definitely be back to try other options on the menu - just a real shame that we're only here for the week.

Well! We found a little part of heaven in Cooper St, at this gorgeous wife & husband run restaurant, Le Petit Monde. We love visiting Morocco, and we were delighted to discover this little gem today after being recommended by a friend. It was far too easy to while away a few hours in this family owned pub. Not a criticism just a very welcome reality! The food was really tasty, hot and plentiful. Nut roast was probably the best nut roast we've had at a pub as it was more like stuffing rather than it being a dry, overly 'nutty' taste and crunchy like you get most places. Gravy was very tasty for vegetarian gravy. Roasties and Yorkshire pudding were good and all the vegetables sides were amazing. Pudding (we had sticky toffee & brownie) were lovely, what we could fit in anyway, perhaps the vanilla ice-cream was a little mediocre but did notice they do Farmer Tom's ice cream so will definitely ask for that next time. Lovely place and chilled setting, definitely will be returning to try out their vegetarian options on their main menu. Service was great. Reckon it'll be our go to place for a Sunday carvery. Atmosphere, The Sagor is a small restaurant in a side street in Bideford. It seemed clean and tidy and relatively well maintained. We have absolutely no negative comments but on a quiet night there was little atmosphere but this cannot be considered the fault of The Sagor. It's quite hidden the sign but we had our dogs and it said doggy ice creams so popped up to see it. We ordered the 3 meat panini and omlete - both delicious and kept us going until evening. We then carried on onto Barnstaple and stopped for drinks at Betty's tea house - that was lovely too. Had a pot of tea there and a large slice of cake. We've not been to Barnstaple for over 30 years and it has changed a lot since our last outing. Shame a lot of the shops are now closed but I suppose that's most small town now

TV showing soaps in the background. The guy serving was was friendly and chatty. Sadly, food was abysmal. Based on the menu we were expecting fresh home cooked food. Beef pie was really dry. Such a shame as food was probably lovely when it was cooked but I'd imagine they freeze it and warm it up by the taste and dryness of it. Where do I start with this review.... Absolutely love this little hidden gem. My partner and I decided to go there for a meal while we were on holiday and we weren't disappointed, at all. We were greeted by the most kindest waitress/hostess who fully explained what was on the menu. We both had the salt and pepper squid for a starter which came out on a tiled slate, followed by the baked Hake in saffron cream sauce with Mussels and King Prawns with fries. The food is beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and the portion sizes are spot on! After my meal, I treated myself to a Brasserie Russian, which I've never had before, as I'm not much of a drinker. But I really enjoyed the mixture of the vodka, chocolate liqueur, Kahlua & cream over ice. You can tell they've properly thought about every little single detail. All these little touches really gives the whole place that "wow" factor. Amazing hospitality, amazing food. The place is just incredible. I love it that much, if I could, I'd drive 3 hours just to eat there again but will have to wait until our holiday next year. 5 stars!!!

The food is the best I have ever had in the UK. The owner is a fantastic and caring guy. The staff are beyond wonderful. We were there for our anniversary and I wod be more than happy to stay there until the next one.
