It seems that there are indoor dining spaces in the restaurant, but a majority of the seating is outside. If you were around New England this winter, it felt like the ones we used to have. Tavern By The Sea would have spent an inordinate amount of funds trying to keep warm, so it's good that they are open in the late Spring, Summer, and early Fall. We went on the weekend that they had opened up, and decided on dining in one of their interior dining spaces. The table was close to the bar and the server station. You could tell that the staff was getting ready for the busy-ness of the Summer season! The food is good. The gluten-free pasta dish was tasty, the burger was, too. The fries that come with the burger were substantial. Their Caesar salad was well put together! I think that this restaurant is an awesome place to take in this little bitty coastal village of Rhode Island. There might be a few other places within this "urban center," but I think Tavern By The Sea has a real feeling of comfort and style.

Our favorite is the grilled octopus, it is by far the best octopus we have ever had and we try it at other restaurants for comparison. My husband had the fluke and said it phenomenal. At no point were we told that reservations were only for an hour. My friend was in the middle of her wine, and when telling the hostess she still had her drink to finish, she said that they had already given us enough time and the next party wanted the table. She later went on to say that it should be coming from the waitress and not her. It was honestly quite embarrassing, unprofessional and just left a bad impression. She offered no solution like welcoming us to sit at the bar to finish out our night. We left with my friend glass of wine over half full. I am not sure if this was a mistake in the restaurant over booking, however, it would have been nice to have been told this prior to us being seated, or while we booked on Open Table. The app was tater tots with bacon, scallions, crema, and cheese. It was very tasty but had it been I bit crisper they would have been a 5. The food is exquisite. My wife and I went there for a lovely dinner. We started with the very best beet salad that we had ever had. The combo of the goat cheese, arugala, beets, on a base of a roasted cashew nut paste was truly amazing. Hats off to the chef on creativity and execution. Everything was too salty. Food is over priced. Never received the drinks I ordered. I order the calamari with marinara sauce and peppers for an appetizer. The sauce taste like it was out of a can. No flavor. The calamari was way to salty. Then The entrees came. Two entrees were Veal Saltimbocca and the chicken Franchise. The food was way to over salted as well. Could not eat more than a few bites. The staff did ask if we liked the food and we said it was to salty and couldn’t eat it. The owner then addressed me in a very rude tone and informed me that they do not use salt in there food in the entrees that was ordered. I never once asked for the manager or owner to come over to speak to me about the food. I was just going to pay and leave. I have never had such a horrible meal that was not even edible. Horrible customer service by the owner. The girls that took the order did they best they could but failed to ever deliver any drink that we ordered except for water and a coke. On top of that. When we were leaving the owner may have thought we left out the door but I didn’t leave fast enough because she was then complaining about how she has never had a bad meal from there and complained about me being there and not eating the food. She clearly is either delusional about her food or has never tasted her food. I rather eat fast food that has been sitting out for hours rather than ever go back here and try there food ever again. It is no surprise that they were not busy. Especially with the owner that just sat at the bar and only seemed to get up to address me about her food not being to salty. Save yourself the money and literally go anywhere else but here. Highly disappointed in the food but most of all the owner and her actions, even though I was just going to pay for the food that was barely eaten and just leave.

I know cod is hard to season, it was fresh yet the bread crumbs topping was underwhelming. Give me some butter and crispy edges, make my mouth water and want to come back for more. It’s hands down the best Asian food in RI IMO. Well..it was. We came here today for the first time in a while and I get the same thing every time. Order of boneless spare ribs, General Taos chicken and an order of Pork Fried Rice. So I know how it’s always tastes cause I have been coming here for years and years. It’s totally different. The spare ribs were sooooo chewy and felt over cooked with a burnt taste. I don’t mind the burnt taste it tastes grilled almost but not with it so chewy. The fried rice is dark and harder vs how it was 2 months ago. The chicken isn’t as good either. Everything was really chewy and over cooked. Not very over cooked but over cooked. My review before wAs 5 stars I’d refer everyone who asked to here for best Asian food hands down but it’s not the same. And that just sucks!

I used to love the old Seven Moons. Decided to try the new location and it was a pretty big disappointment. The fried rice tasted like stale oil. That’s it. No other flavor other than nasty burnt oil. I also had a tofu and veg dish which wasn’t horrible but it just lacked any spice or flavor. The service this night was friendly and super quick. It was like "I barely put my menu down" and our food arrived. Yesterday I called to make a dinner reservation for 8 of us. We wanted a comfortable, friendly and familiar environment to enjoy some family time after the unfortunate passing of our dog. I called to explain the situation, with my best guess for a time. The woman who took my call expressed her condolences and was so understanding and flexible. I realize that most people won't find themselves in this particular situation, but I simply want to acknowledge the compassion and customer service that went above and beyond. Every sandwich was missing significant amount of items. In my group, we ordered the same sandwich and every single one was prepared differently and had different things on them. Everything was cold. They had about 6 people working, but they had all the registers closed. The toilet was closed. They do need to hire extra help as they had more customers than they did help so the wait time was sometimes long. The Turkish music in the background adds to the overall appeal of Plenty’s.
