Outside curb appeal is perfect. The nostalgic 1950s look with sidewalk tables, AND a parking lot is a winning combination! I must have arrived during a slow time. There was plenty of seating, although this restaurant is relatively small inside and is often filled to capacity. I stuck with the non adventurous bacon burger with mashed potatoes instead of the French fries. My mom had the fried chicken wings. We both have a problem with our clothes shrinking, so we just had water with our meals. My burger from Bun to Bun was excellent. Cooked precisely to my order, juicy and delicious. The bread was fresh, and they were not shy with the crispy bacon. The lettuce was not an old man but not a baby either. I gave my mom the tomatoes, and although she complained that they were probably cut way in advance, she ate them up like she was going to the electric chair. My accompanying little, and I mean little, cup of cold slaw was tasty just like the old-time NYC deli shops. The mashed potatoes were a disappointment. That mall is well curated and has 3 floors of affordable treasures. You get to the Millbrook Antiques Center first, but I really really like the MALL better. There were about half the tables full. We were asked if we had a reservation, which we did not. Our meals were fine. Nothing special nor poor to report on. Dessert, however, terrible. The $7 sorbet was one (small) scoop. The server appeared irritated when we asked about the serving size compared to the price. The tiramisu was a soggy mess. It was as if someone plated the tiramisu and then added water to the bowl/plate/blate it was served on. The servers were not phased by our disappointment. We had about 4 or 5 different servers throughout our 60-ish minute meal. They were all below average in quality of service, friendliness, attention to detail. The addition of some coffee infused Campari combined with the herbal notes of the vermouth made a unique bitter flavor that I found to be more appetizing than that of a traditional Negroni. Mr. Brightside was an excellent choice for a summer night. The elderflower and citrus combination was quite refreshing and went well with the fish special. Witchmaker was a light version of a whiskey sour with some ginger. It’s good for someone who wants to start on whiskey cocktails since the whiskey was lighter compared to others I’ve had. The dessert I gravitate towards is the coconut sorbet. It was packed with coconut flavor and had a smooth texture with a few bits of shaved coconut folded in. Went in on St Patrick's day early, after a long day of snowboarding. Our waitress was excellent and was around anytime we needed anything and even helped with food recommendations. My son and I split the frickles (fried pickles) and the brown sugar Sriracha wings. Both were excellent but the wings were some of the best I've ever had and my son agreed. Dinner I had the shepherds pie and he had the corned beef sandwich. Mine was outstanding and on the verge of way too much food but I still loved every bite. Sandwich had a little too much mustard for his liking but excellent otherwise. For dessert we had the best cheesecake I've had in a very long time. Bailey's cheesecake is a must have. Other than food the place was very nice and seemed very family friendly. I think what was the owner seemed to know almost everyone that came through the door and greeted accordingly. Definitely worth checking out I can't see how you could be disappointed here.
