She even left the menus for food & drinks so we could look more after we ordered appetizers, something we both really appreciated since menus always seem to disappear after you order anything! First to last is Cotija Campfire Dip & Fusion Brussel Sprouts for appetizers, then Mile High Meatloaf and Pierogies & Beer Brats. We had beer & a mulled cider which was served hot. Everything was paced perfectly & the presentation was beyond what we expected. Frankly, the presentation was better than many of the 'finer' restaurants we've eaten at here or anywhere! We decided to eat here since many of the restaurants in Gettysburg close at 9 pm ... this amazing place is open until 11 pm & we are SOO happy we chose Appalachian Brewing Company! Sometimes some places will say pet friendly but really aren’t. This place was great. They had a small covered patio with full service. We ate there and they were great about our dog. Even provided us water for her. I did not get a picture of the covered patio but it was nice and very comfortable. They had an open outdoor area as well, that wasn’t full service, and you order from the bar and they bring your food to you. Still very beautiful and comfortable. I can be kind of a picky eater and I have digestive issues. I feel like the menu was great and had a variety. The waiter Drew was great and answered our questions about the menu and if we could not have a certain seasonings he made sure with the kitchen that they could accommodate our request. Sometimes I have had waiters state oh it’s not big deal and state the kitchen can do this or that but never verify and the food comes out with the sauce I requested not to have and therefore cannot eat. So we really appreciate his help and clarification on menu items. Highly recommend this place. Hostess and waiter were great. Amazing food and atmosphere. If you are visiting the National Park, it’s only about 2 miles away from the visitor’s centers entrance. Will come again when we’re back in the area!

A thin gravy totally missed the basic element of a great SOS which is the rich creaminess brought together by rue of butter, flour and cream/milk. This had the taste and appearance of chopped beef mixed with last night's chicken gravy. Settling for a couple of eggs as a replacement, I ordered 2 over medium with toast. Not all toast is the same and theirs is delightful!! Crisps edges with the center softened by the richness of butter. Yum! The eggs on the other hand were barely over easy with the uncooked whites mixing with the center yoke. I now remember why we had chosen other restaurants in town over visiting Dunlaps for breakfast. Perhaps lunch or dinners are better?

I inquired about hot chocolate, but at first they apologized and said the steamer hadn't been on because of the nkce weather. No problem we said, and started planning our other treats from the amazing cases. While, even better, while we were shopping, they offered to turn the steamer on if we had five or ten minutes to hang out and let it heat up. So three ice creams, a carmel apple, three hot chocolates, and a dark chocolate pecan caramel patty later, we headed out, well provisioned for our tour, and super happy with the awesome customer service. Well, let me tell you, the hot chocolates were amazing, the ice cream and still warm waffle bowls, fantastic, and the candies damn near perfect. Everything was so good, that we had to make a special trip the next day. This time, three ice creams, a milkshake, and a few more candies, including carmels, made practically in front of my eyes. We also got to catch the fresh made carmel apples coming out of the dip, and several big blocks of just made fudge were chilling on the confectioners table. I just don't think you can get treats more fresh or delicious. I selected the Blackbelt smoothie (which has a combination of spinach, banana and another fruit). I was adventurous and added lavender to my smoothie and requested an oat milk base. (Unfortunately they were out of whey protein). My partner selected an apple crumble and small Costa Rican coffee. The shop reminded him of coffee houses in Europe. The Ragged Edge Coffee house seems popular with locals. There is a second level upstairs with additional seating and a play area for toddlers . We had an opportunity to meet with one of the owners Mr. Phil was sitting at a table downstairs.He was very friendly and personable.
