Whilst on holiday in the area we had hoped to have a nice meal out to celebrate my husband's birthday, so booked a table online earlier in day. Booking wasn't actually needed as it was virtually empty. On trying to order our meals we were told they had no rump steak as they were running stuff down as changing their menus which meant I had to have sirloin steak which I'm not over keen on and it was more expensive. My husband had something different. When the food arrived my husband managed to eat his even though the chicken was over cooked, but I left most of my meal as the steak was overcooked - more well done rather than medium, peas and tomato were hardly cooked. Staff were busy chatty and no staff came to check on us until they went to clear the plates and saw what was left and was surprised when we said it was a rubbish meal. They went off to sort the meal and came back with amount of money I had paid for the meal. Afterwards we went to a local shop and mentioned the awful meal, and when we visited the shop a few days later they recognised us and said that a couple of other people came in the previous time we did and also said they had experienced a bad meal. So when were back next year, we will be avoiding this place due to quality of food and lack of decent service.

We were drenched after heavy rain and desperately needed somewhere to dry out and warm up. The staff were incredibly accommodating and even made sure there was room for coats on radiators. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The squid starter was simply outstanding—beautifully presented, perfectly balanced flavors, and every element worked together harmoniously. For my main, I had the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection and completely boneless—a real treat. The portion sizes were generous, and even the garlic bread was incredible. This is the second time this same waiter (didn't get his name except it was a male waiter with a spanish or portugese accent- pretty sure his colleagues know who he is) has spoilt my dining experience at the this restaurant/pub. He has on both occasions been lacking of listening and guest management skills. This waiter could learn some skills from his female colleagues. When a guest tells you "we are just leaving; just give us two minutes", please don't carry on and tell the guest they must comply immediately. And don't carry on telling the guest's friends that the guest must be stressed. I was annoyed that you could not give us two minutes to get our stuff and leave. Learn how to control your oversealousness. 5 stars for the breakfast and female bar staff. But we won't be coming back here again. Our superior double room was spotless, peaceful, and offered lovely views across the river, as you can see from the photo. Check-in was quick and easy, and parking at the Old Manse was hassle-free. Never thought I would rate a chicken burger higher than a beef burger, consider my mind blown. Loved the beef burger, the smashed patties had crispy edges, the texture was great. I would have added a touch more sauce as the sauce was delicious. Mac & cheese was yummy, I would skip the onions next time though. Gorgeous location, amazing food, we will be back!

Our kids meals were also really nice, you can tell they use quality ingredients/foods. It’s beyond me how this establishment has only got a 3.7 rating on Google as everything was perfect, the food, the staff were friendly and polite, even the wait for food was only about 25-30 minutes and it was a very busy Sunday lunch time, bar service was a little slow at 5-10 mins but expected with the footfall coming in. Only downside was the Wasps that were annoying but expected for this time of the year, I’d advise eating inside to avoid them. I visited here two Mondays running, around the same time of day for each. There were fourteen other people already there on my first visit. We were seated quickly but it did take a while for us to be served - not an issue, we were in no rush. The staff working that day were all older and flitted about here, there and everywhere. When bigger parties came in they could have asked customers to move to smaller tables yet they never did, instead turning the bigger parties away. Not good business sense for them in one way as it meant they were losing out on taking money, yet good in another as there is nothing worse than feeling as though you are somewhere you shouldn't be. Would I go back? Yes. Not sure I would tell others to go there specifically in case they went on a day like our second visit, but if you go in with an open mind you shouldn't be disappointed.

Made a reservation for 2 at 7PM, got in just a bit before a rush and ordered. The kids fish and chips was actually the best fried cod we’ve had here, wonderfully crispy batter and perfectly cooked fish. Chips were great as well. My husband ordered the 10oz Dry Aged Ribeye, told the waiter he really did not want it over cooked, and the waiter said not to worry. Sure enough it came back a beautiful medium rare. The peppercorn sauce was great too, tad closer to a gravy and delicious. You need to order the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Moist and tender cake, absolutely soaked in a plethora of toffee sauce. Paired with a delicious ice cream. The best toffee pudding we’ve had here as well. A must-buy. Staff was welcoming and even during rush, though you can tell some younger waiters might get a bit flustered and rushed, they still were able to accommodate what we needed in good time. It was raining a lot so was not sure what to expect but there was nobody on the room that described the place but we heared them from another room? They opened the toilet for us but it would have been nice to be told what this place is and to have more interaction. The calfs were there which was lovely but just felt since it wasn’t on a weekend nothing was open and just felt underwhelmed. The house was cool but again it was closed so it will be good to have some clear signs showing whats open what is not and to have somebody describe the place for us.

The centre, toilets etc were all locked up. I did read the cafe had closed and been replaced with a machine. It also dispenses their Milk and Milkshakes. We saw a few calves. The roundhouse is fenced off unfortunately so you can't get close to it. There is a lake but it's privately owned and inaccessible. I can't help feeling this place would be thriving but it's not. We booked direct with them and they were very kind, patient and responsive to us and helped us book as per our requirements despite a couple of specifications from our end. We arrived late in the evening and they had our room ready as per requirements and it was genuinely the cutest room. All their rooms are themed and our room was ‘mole’ themed and the bathroom was very spacious as well. Their mini bar and snack selection is the best I have ever seen. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a hair straightener amongst the amenities. I would definitely stay with them again.

We were able to book a room last minute, late into the evening on a Monday night. The front-desk was closed by then, but the manager of the property was able to help us check-in quickly and effortlessly. Needed some sustenance and kebab and chips came to mind. Looked up on Google Maps and this place came up with high reviews. Drove about 10 minutes and got to this food van. First impressions, very clean place. Ozzie greeted us with a smile and is a very proud man of his business. I asked questions and he patiently answered them all. He even let me me sample some doner meat, it was very tasty, not too oily and not much filler. I ordered a medium doner kebab, an XL kofte kebab, large chips and 2 cans of coke. The other 2 chefs worked fast and the food was ready quick. I asked for cooked onions and sauce on the side and they obliged. Took the food home and it all was very good, large portions, lots of salad and meat and the red and white sauce were tasty. The value for this high quality food is well worth it. I wished I lived in the area, so that I could become a regular to this fine place.

My husband was gifted a masterclass voucher for his 40th birthday, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Alastair was incredible - a true credit to the company. He was funny, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about both his role and the place itself. His energy really elevated the whole experience. The venue is fantastic, with plenty of parking available. A big bonus is that you’re allowed to leave your car on-site and collect it the next day, which means you can fully relax and enjoy a drink or two without worry. There was an amazing range of food options, and the mango cider was an absolute dream, so refreshing and unique. I sincerely hope it gets bottled and branded soon, because I’d buy it in a heartbeat! The on-site shop was also brilliant, with a huge variety of products to browse and buy. The only downside for us was the state of the toilets, they could definitely do with more frequent cleaning or a little upgrade. That’s our only suggestion for improvement. We found our way here after a morning of walking the Cotswold Way. This place is a fantastic array of walk-up restaurants, gourmet food shops, beer and cider bars, and open seating under a huge but cozy white tent! There is an eclectic variety of tables and chairs to sit at. We had an amazing Italian sandwich and, even better, a cider from Dunkertons. The flavor of which was delicious and complex. We finished our meal with outstanding coffee. If we had more time, I would have explored more. Looks like a very fun place with music and entertainment as well. Highly recommend. Plenty of parking, which was good as very busy on the sunny Sunday lunchtime we went. It’s like a pub on steroids! Owned by the guy that launched Superdry it has a similarly cool vibe with a large indoor and outdoor seating area and a number of food outlets, a bit like a mall, around the edges with everything form Burgers to Tai and Indian to Crepes. All top quality and a reasonable price for a venue of this level. There’s a farm style shop with their huge selection of self brewed ciders plus local cheeses, meats, fresh bakery etc. There’s a couple of bars, and on the day we went an area holding a big retro clothes sale and a couple of stalls with retro toys and stuff along with old vinyl complete with a DJ playing some top would and funk tunes that was just the right volume accross the whole venue. There was also a posh looking clothes shop next door but when I see a doorman at a shop I know it’s not one I can afford so can’t tell you any more! Check out their website and get mailed with all the events held like regular comedy and open mic nights plus some fairly big name artists, DJs and tribute bands. Not a place for younger kids but as a venue to either go on a date or meet up with friends I’d say it’s ideal, will definitely be going again.
