As for the day of, Anders, Selina, and Morgan were ABSOLUTELY incredible! Selina asked all the right questions and gave the best support and Anders showed up to help "just because". We had crazy wind the day of and I was freaking out about it being too cold and they both made sure we were still able to pull off our vision perfectly. Morgan was by our side the whole reception making sure we were not only on schedule but AHEAD of schedule (when does that even happen?!) Our guests had nothing but incredible things to say about the food (Renato made the best cupcakes), the venue (Mishelle's florals were stunning), the music (Alex is awesome!), the bartender (Asher's the best!), and the party and many told us it was the best wedding they've been to (purely because of the amazing staff)! Definitely make yourself aware of these / ask to see the contract prior to booking in case some of these are make or break for you. First, you can’t actually get ready at the venue, so the wedding party needs to find another offsite location to get ready and perfectly time arrival so groomsmen and bridesmaids don’t bump into each other. Not a huge deal but it causes complications such as time constraints and possibly paying your photographer additional for extra travel if you want to take “getting ready photos” at your getting ready location. Also, food and bev are not allowed inside so no champagne popping pics for the ladies. Second, you have to start wrapping everything up at 9:30pm. I thought it would be fine but it went by so quickly- only about an hour on the dance floor! Seems like so much work to get all the rentals out and such a short time to have fun!!! We ended up having to spend more money for an after party because of the curfew. The curfew is due to the neighboring houses which is totally understandable! Third, the string lights you see in practically every photo is not a part of darlington. You need to find a rental company to put those up for you. I think it cost around $600. She was professional, arranged things beautifully, and kept my very type B personality in line with her very organized spreadsheets and templates- making sure there was no stress on set up or break down or contracts. Not to mention she took some beautiful candid photos - you can see how much she cares and shows up for the couple on their day. We used All Aspects Catering for food/DJ/Photobooth and it was the perfect pairing! - I would DEFINITELY recommend using them. Great price for very high end service. (also on their vendor list) My review specifically only has four stars due to one worker I would HIGHLY NOT SUGGEST, Robin. She was last minute, terrible communicator, condescending, did not prepare enough of an item we paid extra for at the bar (later had to really have a hard conversation with Katherine about to even get money back- which I appreciated on Katherines behalf). Overall Robin was the only factor in my wedding I would never hire and would completely avoid using. If you get put with her, for your own sanity- ask for ANYONE else to help you manage your bar package. Working with her is not worth stress on your wedding day. I know the issues I had, could have easily been avoided had she done her job at any point in our entire 8? month contract, yet the first time I heard from her was a week prior (even after requesting to get bar updates). To fix this: I would recommend asking for help from Jameson instead- he seemed well informed about the bar and always responded timely/kindly/and accurately. Again, I would DEFINITELY recommend Flora. Katherine has built a wonderful business. It was a privilege to get married at her venue. It was hard to even put 4 stars because I loved my wedding SO very much, but I had been clear with Katherine that I would be honest to future couples and about my awful experience with Robin.

The location was perfect, second floor in the same building of two hotels where most of us stayed at which made things very easy from rehearsal to day of. Water is across the venue making for a beautiful sunset. Eva, the venue manager, was so friendly and communicated everything that was needed and assisted us, as well as our wedding coordinator, with any questions we had. The market lights out on the balcony where we had cocktail tables set a nice vibe where our guests were able to get some fresh air. Music inside can go until 12am which was a big plus to this venue compared to other venues we toured. Only thing I will say is that we had our ceremony fully out on patio for 135/140 guests and walking down the aisle was a bit tight; we had flower vases along the aisle which didn’t help with space, as well as my long veil. 3 people (groom and parents) were not able to walk down together. Sun was bright around 5pm so whoever is facing the water might get some sun in their eyes! Besides that, everything was great and we had the most beautiful wedding. We knew The Lane was the one after touring it for the first time. Big modern space where your Pinterest board and vision can come to life. Thank you all!

We booked extremely far ahead, almost two years and got a discount because of this which was great. Over the two years the venue changed planning platforms a few times and got bought out right before we hosted our wedding. Our wedding may look different though as now they have exclusive vendors that are not what we used. We went with The Lane because at the time they had very few restrictions on which vendors you could choose from. We wanted freedom and a relatively blank space. Florals were a big priority and a lot of other venues have a set list of florists that we did not like. The Lane gave us freedom of choice in those aspects. Communication with The Lane was great. Our main contact was Eva and she answered all of our questions quickly and accurately. The whole venue was clean and lovely with an amazing view. One thing I will say is this venue is somewhat weather dependent. We got lucky with a sunny day in June (a rarity in SD) which made for a beautiful sunset.. but also meant my husband and his groomsmen were a bit blinded during the ceremony. We also chose to not get ready in the bridal suite which I am glad about because it was very toasty in there while we were waiting for guests to arrive. The private bathroom and hangout space of the bridal suite was great later in the evening though! Some of the bridal party made use of the couch for a minute of relaxation during the long evening. We were so worried about not having enough food that we added an extra entree to our family style options, and while that probably wasn't necessary lol many of our guests appreciated the extra variety. We weren't actually hungry enough to eat much of the rest of the offerings, but we heard mostly good things from our guests. A few guests told us that the beef was a bit dry/overcooked, but that might have been our fault for requesting the accompanying sauce to be put on the side. For responsiveness, honestly we did usually get an out-of-office automatic response whenever we reached out, but I can't say it ever became a problem. Overall, I found the Trademark Venus team to be friendly, reliable, transparent, communicative, extremely organized, detail oriented, and experienced.
