The castle is really impressive and has a lot to see. You don’t learn much about its history, but overall, it’s a great place to visit!

Beatiful place, and it's definitely worth a visit! Place isn't big, but it's a nice look and walk around. Nice wooden figures and a mini art showcase and a random cycling display.

I can't say it is a castle, it is kind of rich family house. Museum is poorly designed, during the summer would be nice to visit with family but honestly if I knew I would not pay for the tickets despite its just 60 Kč per adult. On the other hand there is not too much things to do in Ostrava. So you may give a visit.

It's an interesting place which can be explored step by step. There are no English translations for the objects shown in the Museum, but still you can enjoy the tour and the atmosphere. It is located in the green area of the city, near a river.

Really lovely castle from the 13th century. The main gate is nicely restored, you can also visit the inside of the building at the castle's center. I was surprised that despite the information on the website, visiting the castle was possible in January. Ticket for an adult 60CZK, nice views from the higher parts.

The castle is small, and you can learn about Ostrava's history. A big plus for the young guide for his personalized approach. Although the guide was only available in Czech, he did his best to translate everything into English after a moment. This was handled very efficiently, thank you.

Nice and small castle, you can enjoy some views and take some notes about the historical events that was happening in that period.

very friendly and helpful boy at cashier desk, who spoke English and explained everything to us! probably it is much more interesting listening story in original language, we had audio guide who told main story and main things about objects, but the guides are old miners, who probably have much more interesting stories! overall nice experience, recommend

Good place for campers. But not too many electricity outlets, some dont work. Very cheap bar at the location.

You can be sure you will get a local experience with your guide, they are very open about there feelings, let say not everyone cup of tea. But there knowledge is tremendous, and if you survive all there inside jokes and question your experience will be mind blowing. Count the Cole miners you might win a price of the day.

Nice underground, but tours were available in Czech. For English we had to install an app and go visiting mine with a Czech speaking guide and group, so no question could be placed. This is quite common for other places, but we didn't expect that for such a popular place.

U don't go really underground, it's kind of real life maquette of mine. It was interesting, guide was nice. Exhibition of rescue tools rather poor.

You must book a tour in advance. We arrived and everything was fully booked, so we could not even see the museum. That said, we were still very glad to have come. The site and the buildings are dramatic and the mines washroom with their equipment is intriguing. Also the collection of heavy drilling, boring and mine railway equipment is great.

A historical coal mining. Very attractive with a lot of history. Almost places is a self explanatory. The only downside is no English speakers so expect to lose some details and heroic action.

Amazing place to visit, rich of resources and have a wide range of experience and famous museum.

Very rich and beautiful collection of minerals and fossils from the coal mines. High quality biology specimens (fungi, animals and plants) presented in a friendly and interactive setup both for adults and kids. Nice collection of clocks. During our visit (22/08/2021) we were greeted by a young guide who gave us a very knowledgeable tour in English on the history, heritage and culture of Ostrava.

Visited while in Ostrava. The museum is big with many different sections for arts, history and culture. We enjoyed our visit with the guide and were fascinated to understand the history of the city and its development over the years. If you are looking to learn about the story of Ostrava it's a must visit to this museum.

A very nice museum! You can not only watch and read, but also interact with things. It is located in the city center, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The Museum is telling its visitors different kind stories - Ostrava history, cultural life, war and art.

Really nice zoo where they are taking really good care of the animals! Almost each species has a space with trees, leaves and everything they need. I really recommend visiting this Zoo! You can buy tickets at the entrance. The parking costs 100 CZH per day.

Very nice zoo - it’s a great connection between animals and botanical gardens in park style. If you are hungry- you can use a full variety of food and cafes. Children also won’t be sad or bored - they can use many different areas for play and joy. Visiting this place is very valuable and gives many opportunities to learn and explore our environment. Five stars and full recommendations!

I visited on a sunday and it was a bit busy. The animal enclosures are big and look like a natural habitat. It is well maintained, clean and the animals are in great shape. They also have breeding programs and overall seems like a very humane zoo.

Modern ZOO, very nice place for families, a lot of animals but also plants, new animal enclosures, large zoo area, you need min. 4 hours . Good and close parking , friendly entrance, several snack stands and restaurants,possible pay bycard.

Great place to stay with kids even for the whole day. Lots of animals and lots of extra kids activities. Food stands on every corner.

Amazing zoo! It is huge! A lot of place for rest and taking brake. A lot of threes and everything is clean, without garbage. Tickets are not expensive for such Zoo and price in restaurants are just fine. If you visit Ostrava this Zoo you must check out!

This place is absolutely great. I love the warm and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. I chose a table close to the window so I could enjoy sunny beams on my face. Coffee was good and the price didn't seem high. I ordered Asian Fusion dumplings and I must say they were like comfort food prepared in a modern way. I took a bigger portion with 30 mini dumplings and it was in fact a hearty meal. The personnel are friendly and the food was served very quickly. I can recommend this place as my experience was very positive.

A very cute little restaurant in the city center. I wanted to check it out because all of the reviews and honestly, it didn’t disappoint. We had the mixed potatoes, spinach and cheese dumplings, and oh my god were they good!!! They have 12 or 24 pieces. The service was impeccable. The servers who helped us were two lovely girls who spoke English and were very attentive. I highly recommend that you make a stop here while in Ostrava!

This is a very good cafe that serves awesome food. The Pelmene and Vareniky were absolutely delicious. Tasted like Asian dumplings but a little more delicate with cheese and meat fillings. Selection of beverage was also very interesting.

The Vareniky are amazing, I always ask for the mix ones, and I also tried the sweet ones with apple. The service is very good, and the place is small but in a good location and very calm. I am going there every time I can.

Absolutely great. Popped in especially to get some take away dumplings and ended up having a good feed there, and one at home too. Really delicious food, well presented, and helpful friendly staff too. I had the traditional Sibirske (however that's spent) and the home made strawberry lemonade, washed down with a nice cider. For take away dumplings we had mixed vegetarian portion (potato, cheese, spinach), and chicken with spinach and maybe parmesan, not sure exactly but they were all excellent, nicely packaged and still hot 15 mins later. Definitely highly recommended.

My favorite place in Ostrava now. The ambiance is so cozy and warm, i enjoyed every second of my dinner there. Good was very tasty, i even was surprised how yummy it was. Staff is absolutely sweet and kind. Great English knowledge too. It was lovely to find out about this place. Definitely coming back.

A great traditional beer spot. Food was great. Excellent fries. We enjoyed everything we ordered, our favorite was the “blboun”. Some dishes were a bit too salty. Also very good bread. Nice presentation and very generous portion sizes. Very food service. Only few vegetarian options, all of them cheesy.

A classic Czech beer restaurant located in the heart of Ostrava serving a variety of Czech and international dishes and of course quality Czech beer. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There is a beer garden outside the restaurant to sit on the warm days. It is a big spacious restaurant with wooden tables and chairs which can get pretty loud on busy days. There are nice views on the main square overlooking some of the sights. Definitely a good choice when visiting the downtown area of Ostrava.

Not sure why this place has quite a low rating. Maybe we were just lucky, but we really enjoyed this experience. The only place that was crowded on Monday night, so we picked it randomly. The service (blond lady waitress) was fast and friendly. She spoke a little German. Beer was good, both classic and non-alco. All 4 dishes we ordered were wonderful. Chips with two sauces are made to order out of fresh potatos. Yum! My cheese marinated in beer was delicious on bread with butter and red onions. I recommend. Garlic soup and pickled sausage were also highly rated by my friend. Nice atmosphere, it's lively with good all time hits music. You should wait a little for the food, but it's worth it.

We had such a great experience at Radegastovna Na náměstí, thanks in large part to Dobrina, our waitress. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and always had a warm, genuine smile on her face. Her positive energy was contagious and truly added to the atmosphere of the evening. It was an absolute pleasure to be served by someone so friendly and professional — she brought all the good vibes! Highly recommended.

Friendly cashier but the sandwich was very disappointing in presentation and how it was made.. see photo. The taste was good, but the corners were only bread and maybe a little lettuce.. Maybe it's an uncommon occurrence..?

I recently visited this place and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The burger itself was juicy and flavorful, with a perfectly toasted bun and fresh toppings. The fries were hot and delicious, and cans with soft drinks were the perfect drinking temperature. The restaurant was a little small, with friendly and efficient staff. The food was definitely worth the visit. The place had good atmosphere and nice decorations (everything is pig-themed). Overall, I would recommend this burger fast food place to anyone looking for a quick and tasty pork burger or sandwich. They also deliver, so it's perfect for any situation. 5/5☆ and I will visit again 😊

Brilliant! The pulled pork burger was one of the most delicious things I've eaten in recent memory. I'll be going back again before leaving Ostrava... maybe twice.

I had wonderful lunch menu and desert! Churros with mascapone cheese... I miss the taste so much already. I've wanted to visit this restaurant as all the people around me who lived in Ostrava recommended here. I can see it is like the best restaurant in Ostrava.

Loved every bit of it! The styling of the restaurant, the excellent service: very friendly and positive waiter and the delicious food! We had burgers, laksa soup and mango salad with steak. Every bite to die for. Totally recommend!

We visited this restaurant for a quick lunch in between our destinations, and it turned out to be a hidden gem. The place is very beautiful, calm, and tranquil—despite being in the city, it almost feels like stepping into a little fairy tale. The menu is nice and the prices are reasonable, which makes it even more inviting. Although I didn’t enjoy my pasta carbonara as much as I hoped, my boyfriend’s gnocchi were absolutely exquisite. Overall, it’s a lovely spot worth discovering if you’re looking for a peaceful atmosphere and good food.

True delight. This place was chosen by us as a random location to eat on the trip back home and totally stunned us. High quality food and amazing experience. Rabbit croquettes and rabbit itself genially made us say “wow” out loud. Spared ribs were tender and soaked in the sauce. The place is worth taking a 3 hours trip from Vienna just to enjoy the food and service. 5 stars! Ohhh and THE coleslaw 😮‍💨😮‍💨

The beef soup was great, the burger for some reason missed for something but it was good overall, the celery fries was amaziiiing!!! Love it!

Went here a couple of weeks ago on a business trip. The great reviews definitely reflect the food, service, and ambiance of this establishment. I hope to be lucky enough to get another trip back to this quiet town just to have a chance to eat at Hogo Fogo Bistro. I chose the only portion of the rib roast with the side of potato au gratin left from the kitchen. Everything was absolute perfection! Cheers to the chef and staff for making that evening very memorable!

Tasty and good local food. We ordered fried cheese, beef with potato and two garlic soup. First time we tried garlic soup with ham and egg in this style. But we liked it Very much. Big Restaurant, friendly staff.

Restaurant was on the ground floor through some doors so it was difficult to notice. Food was generally good.

First of all the most important thing I was there in the middle of the week in July around 8pm Tldr - Food was absolutely delicious, beer is fantastic, atmosphere is cozy Czech restaurant with multilingual staff 9.5/10 ( -0.5 rating for not smiling enough!....it was late, I get it not a big deal ) Atmosphere is what you expect from a well run restaurant in one of the biggest cities in Czechia If you are in Ostrava and looking for a great place to eat or grab a beer Give it a try

Beef tartare was great! The bread was deep fried, so it was not only tasty but also smelled perfect!

Very tasty local food. We are wow by the beef tartar, pork knuckles & fried cheese. We wanted to come back again but too bad its closed on Sunday. Highly recommended.

Pretty good 'home cooking' style restaurant. We sampled quite a few dishes, all tasty - some a bit less than others. I thought it was very good all round, but did find some better places around, so have marked accordingly. We had Beetroot Carpaccio with goat's cheese - which was excellent, & smoked beef tongue - which was a little bland but nice. Followed by Minors Speciality (pork tenderloin etc)‐ the pancake was really special with this dish, & Rabbit with potato gnocchi - which was also delicious. To follow we (reluctantly) had Fried plums in egg liqueur, this was great and beautifully presented (if you can stomach egg liqueur that is). Service was pleasant too. Not sure I'd go again cos, you know.. been there done that, but recommended for traditional cuisine
