A bit pricey, but definitely worth it

We came from cracow to visit this bar, because a friend of mine really recommended it. So localization is pretty good, 5 min from city center and next to Stodolni street which is “the most popular street in ostrava” with bars and etc. We came on Monday so there was only one couple apart from us. In this bar you can smoke shisha and get some drinks. Shisha was really good beer also. The girl who’s working there was extremely nice to us. Prices are acceptable. So i can recommend you this bar, but not on monday (unless you are looking for almost empty place:)

The waiters are quite rude, I entered the pub, I tried to order something and after some time being ignored they made feel as I was begging for something.

A nice place if you want to try the local food. Well prepared food that tasted well, and good beer. Nice and fast service with staff that spoke some english as well, wich is a bonus in Ostrava! Since we were 3 ladies, it felt a bit awkward at first when we came in through the door, because the place was crowded by men only.. No women at all, just us. But we soon forgot about it and just enjoyed our food. This place is not fancy, the food and beer is what's important here, and its a good place to eat and have a chat with friends. I'd probably would not bring my kids here. This is a place for grown ups! I loved that some had their dogs with them!

Wow!!! Our first meal in the Czech Republic was incredible. Our hotels manager recommended this wonderful place. I'm sorry but I can't remember the names of what I ordered, but it had bread dumplings and very thin cuts of beef with a cream sauce that was made in heaven. My lovely girlfriend had pork schnitzel with noodles. What a great way to start our Czech adventure!

Had lunch twice, gulash was good, pork knuckle was even better, beer is tapped very neatly, service is good, quick, professional, you can pay separately if you are coming as a bigger group. Go for the ribs or knuckle, as good as it gets!

A great typical Czech place. They have a really good selection of traditional food. We love to have friend cheese in Czechia, here they also have fried tvaruzky (the stinky little cheese from Olomouc - would really recommend it but it is really aromatic). The portion sizes were very generous. Great service, very fast and the staff were very friendly. They also have a very pretty wooden bar and one beautiful portrait on the wall. You can pay with a card.

I ate twice here during my stay in Ostrava and it was really good. The servers are able to speak in English which is a plus and the draft beer was also the best. I wasn’t able to take a photo of my food but highly recommended!

An excellent local restaurant. The draft beer (Pilsener Urquell) tastes fresh and the food is also delicious. I had smoked rips and the cheese soup. The soup is not at all smelly, it rather has a very unique good smell. The menu translation into English scares off a bit, but I was happy to taste it. There is cheese and smoked ham inside - an absolute joy to eat with bread croutons/crums. By the way, the red chili on the picture are not hot, only salty. In my case I like that. My colleague had the dumpling with pumpkin sauce ans sweet cream. She liked it. A good place for a beer, worth a second visit.

The place itself isn’t bad : it looks good, the atmosphere is nice and they have a pretty impressive list of whiskies and Gin… BUT, they have absolutely no idea how to serve a gin & tonic : they don’t make the mixed drink (they serve you a dose of gin in a whisky glass, an empty long glass with ice and a bottle of tonic), they don’t provide any garnish either... All wrong! So why offer premium liquors if you don’t know how to serve them ?! This is beyond me…

A great Irish pub on the main street in Poruba, Ostrava. Service was friendly, food was delicious and the beers were cold. They also have a huge selection of whiskey and rum to choose from. Definitely a great place to spend an evening, but be prepared to make a table reservation. The place was packed full when we were there.

My local pub at this time (2015 - 2016). Very good Radegast, Pilsen, Ostravar beers + Guinness of course. They used to have a delicious cuisine, but it happens three times already that I had bad experience with their food lately. They have changed the cook several times and it's not what it used to be. But overall a very nice place to sit and have a beer and burger ;) Outside garden is always full during the summer so better call in advance to get a seat.

A very nice little beer bar. They have craft beer from their own micro brewery and some local beers. They had 5-6 beers on tap and a large selection in the fridge. The seasonal pumpkin gelato sour was so so good. Good service.

Really nice little bar run by hoppy dog brewery of Vítkovice. Their own beers on tap plus guests and some interesting beers in the fridge. Staff were accommodating of our bad Czech! Liked it a lot.

A nice beer place in the center of Ostrava owned by HoppyDog, a local microbrewery specializing in top-fermented beers. They also offer one lager in the pub but it's certainly focused on ale-lovers. The interior is really basic but beers are delicious and staff friendly.

Unique beer, sometimes pricy but you get to experience beer from the highest standards in Czech Republic, because of it's location (apartment building) there's no music, which makes it not a good place to hangout on friday night, but for having a first drink this is a good one.

I have witnessed countless people leaving this bar without their coats, purses, phone, etc. There's no security and it's usually very busy on Friday (especially) and Saturday until late night. The place is divided into 2 areas : a Latino/pop dance-bar located at the main entrance and a house/hip-hop club at the rear. The latter, so-called "Modra Nudle", includes a nice large terrace and an indoor dancefloor. If you manage to prevent robberies, you might enjoy your night.

Stylish & welcoming from the outside, while not so “tranquille” inside - the cafe was totally packed during Wednesday afternoon, with only a few tiny tables available. It was so loud inside that we left nearly having headache, not sure why everyone there was speaking at a high pitch. The place has two levels, design is cozy with fresh flowers, but tables are crammed very close to each other. The coffee was good, crapes arrived rather quickly. The service was rather cold and transactional, so we have mixed feelings.

Very nice French restaurant near Stodolni. The decor was nice, though maybe a little dated. French music was playing the whole time to contribute to the nice atmosphere. Friendly, English-speaking staff. Fantastic food. Not too pricey for this quality. I had onion soup (my only remark is that is should be more thick, but the taste was great) and galette (savoury pancake) with chicken, pineapple and curry sauce. It was delicious. I severely underestimated the portion sizes and couldn't finish my galette, which was a bummer. They did offer to pack it for me but, being a hotel guest, I would have nowhere to heat it up. Alas! But I will be definitely back whenever I have the chance.

This place used to be my absolute must every time I came to Ostrava. Oh how addicted I was to their cheesy pancake! Last visit in June was however such a huge disappointment, both onion soup and pancake were absolutely terrible, my friends were also unhappy with their meals. It seem like they might have changed the chef. Sadly it is time to start looking for a new place to meet :(

Unfortunately it seems COVID has taken its toll. The menu has 1/3 of the choices it used to, the steak secrton does not even include beef. My son found a long black hair in his salad, my wife reported to the waitress who did not seem to concerned, never apologised, and said no more of the matter after taking it to the kitchen for disposal. We used to love this place, it was our special occasion choice and sometimes a late breakfast date venue...i will not be returning for a long time, if at all. Dissapointing

Came here for a late night Sunday drink; the bartender was attentive and humorous. Made a fab negroni followed by a Manhattan, sitting on the street watching late night shenanigans and a really nice ambience. Perfect example of a cocktail bar.

Price inadequate to the quality. Drink was very watery and loaded with ice. I used to work as a bartnetder and please be adviced that during summer it's 3 cubes max for 440 ml not 6. You never know who do you serve. 1 extra star for a staff. Very customer focused. Kindly welcomed.

Amazing place for you and your kids. Close by playground is great to have here as the kids may play during the visit. In summer there is also a jumping pillow trampoline. Huge outside seating can accommodate lots of visitors. No need to worry about that. The beer is the top of quality, same applies to the food. May be a bit pricey, but tastes great. Staff is fast and friendly. The indoors is big and nice, but it would be shame to sit inside with summer weather outside. The place is a bit hidden behind a shopping center so don't panic if you are guided into the block of flats. Parking here is okay, but you need to count with limited number of space due to the location.

Viktoria is a decent sports bar style pub with good food, and a large menu by Czech standards. There's enough English spoken by the staff to get by. It's great for groups, but it can get quite noisy so I wouldn't choose it for a quiet dinner. You can buy beer in 1 liter steins, so it's a good place for a heavy session of pilsner while watching (or ignoring) the ice hockey.

Cafe Daniel is a pretty, cosy little cafe hidden behind an unassuming door and up a couple of flights of stairs. It's a beautiful place to sit, with friends or alone, and the staff are friendly. Not all can speak English, but there are English language menus and they'll do their best. The coffee's not great, honestly — you go for the antique couches and eclectic decorations, not the excellent brew, but it's certainly worth the trouble of finding. (Especially if you're not a coffee drinker!)

Totally bitchin coffee and cocktail house. Walk up stairs to a creeky/smokey apartment flat and sit down on one of the couches or antique dinette sets. Used to be a highlight of Stodolni. Now it is just okay bar - but this goes hand in hand with decline of Stodolni street area which used to be place of various trends, styles, concerts, and a lot of people. Now it is just empty street with nothing interesting.

This is The Place I was longing for quite some time. Even that we were just briefly there, I am certain off my thoughts, and surely will come back. Indeed most music from speaker is ol' good 'rock'. Definitely one of the best places in Ostrava! Superb location and atmosphere. You have the feeling of being in Amsterdam. Very friendly service despite you can order at the bar. A really good typical czech pub with great beer. Also good and properly chilled white wine. They have some snacks, loved the picked tvaruzky, so good. Good service. The air was very heavy the pub got full, poor ventilation I suppose.

Great place with very tasty wine. Located close to centre, big variety of wine ( bottle or glass) and some snack as olives, dried tomatoes. Posibility to sit inside or outside. Good view for river outside of bar. Good place for evening meeting.

Really enjoyed my time here, spent two evenings sipping interesting local wines and Armenian Brandies. Staff have some knowledge of English which helped. Very friendly people indeed who described the background to Czech wines I had. It's not easy to find these wines back home in the UK. The wine cellar offers wine for takeout now during the covid pandemic. It also offers normal bottled wine for purchase. The service is a bit slow and queues can form outside the store however, the wine tastes really good and its of a good quality.
